Well its been a whole cycle since I started playing moblie shuffle!!!
I explained before that this game goes on 24 week event rotation cycle, it gets no updates.
I started moblie shuffle around the announcement of 3ds shuffle shutdown which was made during shiny gard event*
What better way to celebrate that then with the 8th shiny catch of moblie shuffle!!!
This is ofc the second time shiny gardevoir has appeared since I caught it originally on my 3ds account first!

Well said! I’ve always found shiny breeding to not only devalue the shiny themselves by over flooding the market, but also causes a lot of ecological destruction.
I’ve seen so many gardevoirs, dragonites, and other pokemon around several Galarian wild areas due to people overbreeding and trying to shiny breed a gardevoir. Often these pokemon do not have wild instincts and more often than not end up dying in the first few weeks.
Gardevoirs for example are highly bonded to breeders and need something to care for. Wild galarian gardevoirs bond with kommo-o during their first stage of evolution. Corviknights are extremely dangerous predators to gardevoirs, and often their number one.
People think that due to gardevoirs being able to create temporary Blackholes that they’re safe to release? This is entirely false as these defensive moves take up all their energy. Without a bonded Pokémon or a safe place to hide, they are easy targets even if they survive the corviknight. As their weakened state makes them highly vulnerable to other predators
This is especially more problematic with none-native species. I’ve spotted some shiny tinkatons around the wild area in Galar and had to euthanize them due to the ecological risks they pose. Shiny pawmotts are adorable for sure! However the amount of pawmotts needed to get one is so much that more often than not, they’re carelessly released into the wild.
Pawmotts don’t see problematic in paldea but in galar they are quite problematic. As they’re fighting defensive pokemon that are extremely aggressive and known to push prey species out of their ranges and even affect predators.
The absolute fact that weaviles one of galars apex predators are often killed by invasive defensive pawmotts due to their electric and fighting is a disaster! Weaviles are megafauna hunters of large prey like mammoswine, pangoro and more.
I am very against shiny breeding, they’re a rapid reason why there’s so many invasive pokemon around the world. It’s never fun having to euthanize pokemon whose only mistake was existing in a place it wasn’t supposed to.
So how do you feel about all this…shiny breeding discourse??
Alright, this is gonna be a controversial one.
I'm putting a cut here because it explains some gross birthing processes, and I dont want to make anyone queasy. For anyone who doesn't want to read it, the tldr; no. I hate breeding for shinies bcuz of what it leads to.
I have.... very strong opinions on shiny breeding. On one hand, in theory, you're doing what most breeders do, right? You're breeding pokemon to get an acquired trait that you want. The people at @pokemonpetfinder do that all the time. But the difference is that the shinism gene is so, so rare. And by continuing to breed these pokemon for a shiny, you have a lot of extra eggs and babies and a tired mother/parents.
Okay, so you drop the eggs or babies off at shelters, so no harm done, right? But due to how rare shiny pokemon are (1/8,192) you have so MANY extra babies/eggs, and the shelters near you can't possibly take all of them. Overpopulation at shelters can become an issue, and that's when euthanasia starts.
But okay, fine. Lets say the shelters are ablw to care for them. What about the egg-laying/birthing pokemon? We don't talk enough about how much damage carrying eggs can do to your body. I'm using Venomoth as an example here, because I've seen a situation like this with a Venomoth. Do you know how big Venomoth eggs are compared to them? I'll show you
Tumblr media
Doesn't seem like much, right? That's until you realize that being moths, the lay a lot of eggs at time, sometimes up to 20 in one litter. You ever seen a gravid venomoth? They get super big, and it's painful. They can't fly because it's too heavy too, so they just have to wait until they can lay their eggs. And the hole is small and has to expand so much to get an egg out. Do you really want to put a venomoth through that, over and over again?
And even it's not a venomoth situation, where the eggs are normal for the egg-laying mother's size, gravid/pregnancy and birthing is still the worst. Nursing can be painful, headaches, sorness, tiredness, irrability, raging hormones that can effect your mood, etc, etc. You really want to put a pokemon through that over and over? That can be traumatizing for them! Trust me; I've seen shiny breeding facilities. Even with drugs used to get the shinism gene (I'll save that for a different post), it's still rare, and the mother's still have to go through so much. It's horryifiying entering one of those places.
But it's fine. You got your shiny. That's what matters, right?

So, since I've not been in the mood to draw, I've been playing a lot of Scarlet, doing some outbreak hunts and leveling up some old buddies.
Eventually, I thought it would be fun to finally build a Shiny Dream Team.
Darren was already level 100, and has been for years. I started raising Mist the Zoroark, and later Ruri the Gardevoir, and it hit me... I had a good shiny team going! So I went on a scavenger hunt to decide the last three members.
All of them come from various points in my shiny hunting (and not hunting, I'll get to that) timeline, and are all more dear to me than other shinies I have. (Aside from Akoya. Nobody tops her.)
This lovely team consists of:
Darren, male Flygon, Timid, Mischievous; Hatched via Masuda Method in Soul Silver, my first ever hatched shiny.
Mist, female Zoroark, Rash, Somewhat vain; Hatched via Masuda Method in Pokemon Y. I'm sure you can imagine the joy I felt at seeing that it was female. :3
Phillip, male Decidueye, Lax, Takes plenty of siestas; Hatched via Masuda Method in Pokemon Sword.
Sulfur, male Lucario, Hardy, Alert to sounds; Hatched via Masuda Method in Shining Pearl. (Yes I'm throwing him in even though he's part of a separate group. He is a shiny I've acquired of a childhood favorite Pokemon, so he's a Dream Team Shiny~)
Ruri, female Gardevoir, Jolly, Scatters things often; Lucky find in Alpha Sapphire. I was training during a Nuzlocke, and on my way back to heal, the radar thingy went off. When I saw it was a Ralts, I thought "Alright, just in case it's shiny..." It was shiny.
Tira, female Talonflame, Serious, Somewhat of a clown (lol); Extremely lucky first-egg hatch in Y. I can't remember if it was Masuda or not, but I don't think so. (I wasn't hunting for a shiny, I just wanted a Flame Body bird for my bro. XD)
Ironically the two birds are named after characters in book series' I like.
I tried real hard to not have any type overlap, and by my calculations, the only type they have no STAB advantage over is Flying. But there are ways counter that weakness. I'm very happy to see these guys all come together like this. :3

Risoran for when you get ballsy on your nuzlocke or something.
This was originally going to be about Risotto thinking about their gay transgender Gardevoirs because I was trying to get a shiny Ralts for old times' sake, but then I got way over odds and killed Vivian out of frustration.
I eventually got the Ralts but there's still a reason why I don't shiny hunt that much anymore.
Tumblr media
Anyways, they had a burial for Vivian the Gardevoir after that. I think it goes hard for what it is.
Of course, Ran is thirty in this picture, as always.
I'm probably going to quit adding the disclaimer, soon. It's getting annoying and I think that the Bandori fans are becoming more or less aware of my bullshit at this point.
Bonus gay transgender Gardevoirs screenshotted from an earlier draft under cut:
