I use a water bowl instead of a water bottle, and one of my mice keeps on going out of her way to pick up individual pieces of bedding and putting it in the bowl. Any reason why she could be doing this or is she just being silly?

Mice naturally want to cover their food and water sources; I would suspect that’s why she’s doing that. Bowls aren’t recommended for that reason, and also because they can (and will) pee or poop in their water. That said, as long as it gets cleaned out multiple times a day, it’s fine to use a bowl!
