Can't speak for everyone, so I'll speak for myself. I ship Izu//Ocha, but I'm not as invested as others. For one, in my opinion, it's just obvious. There is a difference between being subtle and having it shoved in my face. Izu//Ocha was never shoved in my face, I thought it was natural compared to ships from other series. But, not going to lie, I knew Ocha would be a love interest the minute she was introduced. It wasn't a problem for me up until the License Arc. While I knew Ocha would (1/2)

be a love interest, it wasn't apparent until that Arc. I really felt like that Arc really shoved Ocha as nothing but a love interest. I don't know, but I just just prefer to ship something more subtle and unexpected. With brings me to point two, which is their relationship. I never expected myself to ship Kiri//Baku, but their relationship is amazing. With Izu//Ocha, it's fluffy. I like fluff, so it's not hard for me to not ship Izu//Ocha, but from what I've seen here on Tumblr, angst (2/3)

and tension seem to be a popular thing here. I like dark fiction, I like angst, and I like smut. I can't read or look at angst when it comes to Izu//Ocha, let alone read smut. It makes me laugh; I just can't picture smut/ angst with their relationship in canon. I just see comedic fluff (and one kid, family wise). I guess with the lack of tension and excitement with this pairing it would come across as boring to some people? I like Kac//chako simply because of the excitement. Third, (3/4)

So for your first two questions, I understand why you felt like she was becoming a satellite love interest or whatever in the license arc, that irked me too. At a point she was like “I can do it like Deku!” and “I believe on you” and stuff. I can see why that’s annoying. Also, I’ve noticed that some people don’t exactly like not when ships are too obvious anyway (I had a similar experience when I watched parasyte since Shinichi x Murano was pretty much canon before any of them even made an appearance in the series) it kind of kills the enjoyment of shipping... which I find strange because people usually want ships to be canon.

You say you’re not invested in it, so of course the angst would seem weird to you, but there are actually a lot of angst fics out there and there’s some smut too, not a lot but the artist HK does some justice. 

But here’s the thing I don’t understand, what is this ‘angst’ that you’re looking for?  Do you mean angst in the fan content? Or is it angst in the manga itself? Do you want a scene where Izuku/Uraraka is lying down i a hospital bed on death’s door? Or do you want a scenario where one of them get jealous for the other? (that’s already happened though lol)

Anyway, izu//ocha isn’t even the only fluffy ship. If you think about it todo//deku is a fluffy ship too, it’s all ‘blush blush’ and whatnot. Kacch//ako, kiri//baku... they’re not even angsty ships either so what are you looking for in a ship exactly?
