Flash Fic Event: June 20th

We start the last flash fic round with another prompt I got through a different channel. Thankfully the weather calmed down a bit and thinking is an option again. Prompt: Devilfish

Shinana slowly got frustrated with her prey. Being a damn dragon should have advantages but she just learned they were gone once you preyed on a fish on the open sea. She stood in the air, flapping her big wings to steady herself while she thought about the situation. Somehow she would need to get into the water if she ever wanted to catch the delicious devilfish. Oh damned be this mermaid who introduced her to this delicacy. A snicker, that sounded like rolling waves, sounded off behind her. Shinana flew a curve to see who was there, even if she already had an idea. “Need a fin?”, the young mermaid asked. She wasn’t even old enough to wear seashells but splashed around like a big fish. “You! It’s all your fault.” “Oh, Shin…. How is it my fault you can’t catch a devilfish?” “It’s your fault you introduced me to these things.” “So you liked it?” The big grin on the mermaid’s face let Shinana groan in anger. Impertinent talking fish! While she still wailed in despair, she didn’t notice how the mermaid dived down. By the time Shinana realized it the mermaid was back with two devilfish, one in each hand. “You need to take me for a flight now.” “That’s all you want?” “Yes!”, the mermaid yelled excited and threw the first fish up in the air. Shinana frowned. “Well, if this is all you want. How high can you jump?” The mermaid didn’t answer but jumped out of the water instead and landed right on Shinana’s back. “High enough.” Yes, this was a real impertinent mermaid, but who minds if you get fish for free?

Budding Nigerian designer Bibisquintessence has just unveiled an amazing array of Kaftan collection tagged “NorthernLagos” with different designs to choose from, each with its own beautiful embellishments.

Photographed by Ayo Alasi, the lookbook enlist Big Brother stars and models Beverly Osu and Maria Nepembe. It also features Ex-beauty queen and Nambian style entrepreneur, Antonia Shinana. The models flaunts their lithe physique for the lookbook that plunges right into the season.

According to the creative director, Bibi Adeyemi, the collection is inspired by the thread that explores an aspect of culture in a stylish way. The variety of colors in the long loose dresses which are very  feminine, comfortable and easy to wear comes in different cuts and fabrics to flatter every shape. It’s modest yet fashionable!
