Yikes. This is probably the first of a few makeup items I'll be decluttering.

First, let's talk about the Supergoop! Shimmershade Illuminating Cream Eyeshadow SPF 30 in First Light. I was drawn to this product because it's a cream eye shadow that also provided SPF protection for my eyelids. I try to make sunscreen an essential part of my routine whenever I step out of the house (though I admit I'm not always consistent). However, I've always been cautious about applying it to my eyelids and forehead due to eye irritation. This cream shadow solved the eyelid issue for me. (although it didn't address the forehead concern) I used this eye shadow regularly, but not enough to finish the product before it expired and dried out.

This brings me to a larger problem I've faced. There was a time when I was highly influenced by YouTube and its beauty community. I became very impressionable and started purchasing makeup excessively to fill a void. As a result, I've accumulated an overwhelming amount of makeup. While I would have loved to repurchase this particular product because of its SPF benefits, I already have an excessive amount of makeup to use up.

Verdict: Despite my liking for this product, I consider almost all of my makeup purchases to be a fail simply because I have an excessive collection. I most likely purchased this cream eyes hadow from a Sephora store in 2019, but I couldn't find a record of the purchase. Its current price is $24, though it might have been cheaper four years ago. Although I have grown tired of high-end makeup and would opt for drugstore options if I had to start over, this product would be one of the exceptions I would splurge on. However, considering my current makeup situation, that won't be for a long time, if ever.

So far, as not everything has arrived yet, the first impressions I can give are the following:

Commodity Mimosa Travel Spray- I grabbed up something by Commodity as soon as I could when I noticed their entire line was in the sale section; never a good sign! 😰I think I was too frantic and got Mimosa instead of Nectar, which I think I would have liked more. I don’t love it and I think I will be returning it.

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream- The hype is real. It’s an excellently formulated cream on its own, but THE SMELL. It’s just so delicious; tropical with rich caramel. Well worth it.

Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Sol Oil SPF 30- I tried this out in store and instantly fell in love. It has the same mouthwatering scent of the Bum Bum cream, but add SPF! The texture is a medium-weight oil which sinks into the skin pretty quickly. Perfect for the upcoming warm weather.

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb- My sister already loves Fenty Glow, so I wanted to pick up the newest shade Fu$$y for her and the OG Fenty Glow for myself. I love it! I already have full lips, but it does give a fuller appearance along with a MLBB color.

Supergoop! Shimmershade Illuminating Cream Eyeshadow SPF 30 in Golden Hour- There was huge hype surrounding the release of this product, but I’m not overly impressed. The concept of an SPF eyeshadow is great and the color is pretty, and I will continue to use it simply for sun protection, but the execution is a bit off. It’s mildly chalky, doesn’t blend the best, and I noticed some pilling. I think you would need an eyeshadow primer to see this product at its best, but aint nobody got time for dat. 🤷

Verb Hydrating Mask- An old favorite in my family; just a restock. Works well to hydrate any hair type.

The shimmer shades are buttery with the exception of the cream shade which was a little chalky. The matte shades are nice. Not the most pigmented I’ve used BUT the blend and build up quite well. Everyday Skin Care Routine - AM

Cleanser - Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser

Toner - Thayers rose petal witch hazel facial toner

Antioxidant Serum - Sephora C+E or Skinceuticals (C+E)

Eye cream - Estee Lauder Day Eyewear 

Acne Spot treatment (When I’m home) - Murad or Clean + Clear

Moisturizer - Clinique Moisture Surge for now but I am thinking of switching it up with a different one (under research)

Sunscreen - I tend to use tinted sunscreen so I can avoid the whole make-up routine. So, I use IT Cosmetics CC+ Illumination (Rich is my tone). Although I also want to try Prevage someday. On days I want to avoid make-up altogether, I use Supergoop Sunscreen
