Any Nurarihyon (Nura: Rise of Yokai Clan) fans know where to read the new chapters that are out after 11 years? 🥹 I'm willing to read raws at this point.

This is why I personally can't fault Shirai for ending the series when he did while trying to maintain his sense of artistic integrity, even with my complaints about the back half of the series.
escape arc is easily the best tpn arc and there are critiques to be had about the pacing in later arcs but if you say everything post-escape is unoquivocally bad you are simply wrong and dumb i'm so sorry

Thank you so much this means Nurarihyon is like 500 years old (he meets her somewhere around year 1600). He is HALF as old as Gyuki and is a WITHERED CRONE in 21st century while Gyuki is up and slaying. What the fuck.
Also, even worse: Gozu and Mezu are alive in canon timeline when this panel is set. They're only like a hundred years younger than Nurarihyon is. And they still look 12 years old. I've been thinking about this for a week. shiibashi fucked up.

OC-tober day 14: inspirations
lol outing my old interests, but Xielir is a pretty old OC as well so :3c anyway, I take a lot of inspiration from FFXII, which is still my favorite game of all time lol even though in my own story its barely recognizable from FFXII :p
More notes and thoughts below!
I really loved the magick and summon system in FFXII though, so there's elements of that in my story world. For the scythe I always wanted Xielir to be a scythe wielder, and RWBY's gun scythe was too cool not to take inspiration from.
Top right is Sumiko from Kekkaishi! She's a very minor character that only shows up in like, the last 2 arcs of the story, but the way the manga portrayed her monstrous power and how it disconnects her with her humanity was very cool, very inspiring. I love her characterization and I haven't seen another character like her in other media honestly, but she's cool af
I took inspiration from Shiibashi Hiroshi's artstyle as a whole, especially when it comes to cool looking eyes 😎 I started out with a style much more similar to that of Nurarihyon no Mago's until it started branching off into my own style!
Jingliu is on here bc I didn't know who else to put orz but her backstory as a powerful swordswoman, who mentors students, and then goes insane line up very well with Xielir's own story, although Xielir is much kinder and much more patient to her disciple than Jingliu lol.
Anyway, I guess I could've done more characters, but that would be another text wall so I'll leave you guys with this :ppp

Misaki Ayuzawa is a unique phenomenon within Seika High School. In a predominantly male institution, she became the first-ever female student council president through her honesty and diligence. One day, after hearing a girl cry in the hallway, Misaki encounters Takumi Usui—the most popular boy in the school—as he rejects a love confession. Enraged at what she is seeing, Misaki reprimands him for making the girl cry. However, Usui is indifferent and brushes it off as nothing.
Unexpectedly, Misaki soon runs into Usui again, but this time when she is working at a maid cafe! Embarrassed that someone has found out about her secret occupation, Misaki promises herself not to let Usui destroy her reputation. Notes/comments (optional):
I love this series so much it hurts. (T_T)
The first (and only) manga volumes I bought are the first two of this series. <3
Misaki is actually one of my academic inspirations. And I aspire to be as effortless as Usui! ✨️💅
Will I rewatch? Without question, yes!
