dresses, but more importantly, waffles
Both Drew and Bianca have a day off - and so they spend their day doing one of their favourite activities - shopping.
@drewtanakaweek. for day two, two days late.
read on ao3!
Drew's day started out as most do in the lull of a midsummer weekend, sleepy and late with a blue, blue sky. Drew's free - her internship at a cosmetologist's and her cosmetology studies are both off for today - and the world seems to be begging for a free day for Drew.
Or, it will be. For now, Drew is content in calmly staying in bed. Or, she was, until someone decided to throw open her curtains.
"Rise and shine, lazy," Drew's sort-of best friend, sort-of girlfriend, and roommate Bianca says.
"Asshole," Drew mutters. "Why does it matter to you? We don't even share a room!"
"And? It's a lovely day. We have a shopping date."
"We're not dating."
"What do you call it, then?"
"Something between dating and not."
Bianca rolls her eyes. "Dear Drew, how about queerplatonic-ing?"
"Whatever goes. Floats your boat. Drinks your tea."
"It's 'cup of tea'."
"Sorry, I can't hear you over your annoyingness and impertinence."
Bianca snorts, shaking her head. "Sure."
"Plus, don't you have a crush on that Rachel girl?"
"Drew!"
Drew shrugs lazily. "What about it?"
"Do I have to full-name you?"
"Maybe."
"Fine. Drew Tanaka, I do not have a crush on Rachel Elizabeth Dare!"
"Hmm. Can't hear you over the denial."
Bianca rolls her eyes. "I am not in denial. Anyway, shopping?"
Drew bolts up. "Yes. I need to get a dress or something. I realized yesterday that I have a stunning lack of dresses - only seven, and like five aren't even everyday dresses. So I need more everyday dresses. Where did my dresses go?"
"You could make them yourself, you know. And they'd look great besides if you tried it."
"Too lazy."
"Hmm. Fair. Anyway, get changed or whatever. Let's go to the waffle place for breakfast."
"You had me at shopping, and now you want to sweeten the deal with waffles? I'm so in."
"Waffles are the key to your heart, dear Drew."
«»
The mall is one of Drew's favourite places. Of course, they start at the waffle place. Bianca and Drew have spent countless mornings this way. In fact, it's come to the point where the waitress who usually serves them knows their orders by heart and their names by memory.
"The usual?" she asks. Her nameplate reads Lou Ellen, and her knowing smile makes both Bianca and Drew smile.
"Of course," Bianca says. "Which reminds me. How's your teaching degree going?"
"Great! I'm going to get my certification soon, and I'm almost done all my classes. What about your law degree?"
Bianca rolls her eyes. "Pretty difficult, but it's challenging in a good way. Chugging along, though. I'm sure I'll get it soon."
"And you, Drew?"
Drew shrugs. "The entire cosmetology thing's going well. Mother has this idea to help me set up my own company, but I need to get the degree first. And I don't really know if I can handle a company. Actually, that sounds super privileged, now that I think about it."
Lou Ellen snorts. "It's fine. But remember to live your life for yourself over anyone else. Anyway, I'll go get your waffles now."
"Thanks, Lou Ellen!"
"Thanks!"
«»
The waffles are as excellent as always. Bianca picks up the bill and they thank Lou Ellen once again and head out.
"Doesn't Rachel work at the art store nearby?" Drew asks.
"Drew. Stop trying to set me up with Rachel."
"Hmm... No."
"Drew."
"No."
Bianca rolls her eyes. "Dear darlingest Drew, please stop setting me up with Rachel."
"How about no. Oh, and look over there - it's the Lego store!"
"I'm going to ignore that obvious topic change in favour of Lego. You get away this time."
"You're going to let me get away with it every time."
"Shhh. You can't reveal my weaknesses."
Drew raises an eyebrow. "Lego?"
"Yes, but also Nico and Hazel both love Lego. And so does Leo. Actually, all our friends love Lego."
"Seems like we have a pattern on our hands."
"We like Lego."
"Yeah, there's a pattern."
"Definitely. Anyway, is that a Lego Botanical set? Look how-"
"It's beautiful."
Bianca smiles. "Can we afford it?"
"There's the problem."
It's a beautiful set, naturally, one of the Lego Botanical Collection ones. It's the Wildflower Bouquet, according to its labeling, and it's really nice.
"If we buy it we might not have enough money for the dresses."
"Dammit. Keep going, then."
«»
They reach the store eventually. Eventually.
"Look at that one!" Drew exclaims. It's a dress; the skirt is full of pink tulle, layers upon layers of the palest pink possible. The bodice is more solid and cream-coloured, and separating the two halves is a white ribbon. It's the kind of dress little girls get, but sized up appropriately. And without an overload of sparkles, unfortunately.
"You'd look great in that," Bianca says. "But what's the price tag?"
"My budget's a hundred thirty, price tag is... ninety dollars!"
"Hell yeah," Bianca grins. "Wonder if they have a blue matching one. For reasons."
"Reasons."
"Yes, reasons."
"Wait, I was supposed to get an everyday dress."
"Oh well."
"Oh well," Drew agrees.
"You have to try it on, though," Bianca says. "What if it doesn't fit?"
"It better."
Bianca snorts, before suddenly growing excited. "Look, there's a blue one - we could match!"
Drew grins. "We'll have to try them on first."
«»
"We can match now!" Bianca exclaims. "Quick, what are some fun date-slash-not-date ideas we can use them for?"
"Fancy restaurant?"
"High tea?"
"As long as there's food, I'm in."
Bianca laughs. "Are you, perhaps, a connoisseur?"
"Not even close."
"Oh, I see. Within time, then."
"Maybe, maybe not. Do you think I have enough money?"
Bianca snorts, and shakes her head quickly.
"Anyway, I forgot to get everyday dresses."
"Oh well."
"Oh well."
"Anyway, want to check out the jewelry store? We'll probably be unable to afford anything under any kind of realistic budget, but it's fun."
"Why don't we go to Claire's?"
Bianca's face lights up. "You know me so well. I want more snake earrings."
"Of course you do."

Awaited Clousure
Day 2 means cute wedding fluff! Here is my yearly tradition of writing the cuties in the reunion AU and so we have them being enamored and getting married. Hope you all like!
@ulquihimeweek
Ulquihime Week Day 2- Soulmate
Awaited Closure
Tatsuki kept fussing over her hair while Halibel applied make-up. Rangiku was going over 20 emergency plans along with Riruka and Orihime couldn't help but smile.
"If you get nerveous just say so and we'll shoo everyone away." Halibel told her. "Cyan and Tesla have the exits all cleared and I don't even have to ask Nnoitra to fight whoever wants to get violent."
She giggled. "That's okay Hali. I specifically had Kenpachi seated away from him to stop the fights. And I'll be fine. This time I'm marrying my soulmate. I can feel it."
After a failed wedding she thought she'd be feeling much more nerveous, that she would be second guessing everything. But there was nothing to stress her now, since Ulquiorra had proven time and time again his love for her, and she hoped that she had also proved herself to him.
"There, all better. Now, let's get you married."
***
"Yer a fuckin penguin. I don't know how anyone would do this." Nnoitra muttered as he finished tying Ulquiorra's tie.
Chad was readying everything in the hall along with Szayel, who took on wedding planner duties. Starkk was awake for the first time ever, and took to welcoming the guests before the ceremony started.
"You say that yet you plan to give a ring to Halibel come Spring."
"Shhh, she has ears everywhere! Pipe down!"
Ulquiorra smiled upon seeing his reflection. Everything looked perfect. "Thanks, I'm certain Orihime will appreciate everyone's efforts in making us look our best."
"Don't get sappy on me. Just promise to call and visit."
He would've hugged his annoying roommate had Starkk not burst into the room. "Schiffer, we got a situation."
***
Had it happened a year ago, she would've ran out again, for the circumstances were eerily similar. But this wasn't her nightmare first wedding and she wasn't alone this time. Tatsuki held onto her as they were both about to enter the hall when they spotted Ichigo and Ulquiorra talking.
"Kurosaki, unless there was last minute change that I wasn't made aware of, you're not a part of this wedding. So please explain to me quickly why you've asked to see me."
"I asked for you because I know Inoue would've refused. I'm not here for the ceremony, I'm just here to bring this."
He handed Ulquiorra an envelope. "What is this?"
"A scholarship voucher. Inoue just has to take it to the University and she'll have a pedagogy scholarship paid in full."
"Kurosaki, I may bring this to her but I doubt she'll accept it. Money was never what she wanted from you, and you know it."
"I do. And I know that a million apologies won't make up for what I did. But if anything else I hope this can help fix some of the damage I caused.
If you want, tell Inoue that I'm sorry and that I hope that someday we may go back to being friends but that even if we the rest of our lives without meeting again tell her she was the best friend, and girlfriend a guy could ask for. That I was wrong for taking her for granted, that I wish her all the best, and that in happy she has you to take care of her.
Sorry for the trouble, have a good wedding."
He left as quick as he'd arrived. Once they were alone, Tatsuki came out hiding and approached Ulquiorra. "We heard."
"Yes well, this is for my princess to decide. I have no interest in meddling. I'll be at the altar. See you soon, woman!" He said as he walked down to wait for her.
"Your husband is such a sap." Tatsuki told her. "Here's the envelope."
"I don't wanna think about Ichigo for a while. You can keep that until we're back from the honeymoon. Right now, I have to marry my soulmate."
***
Ulquiorra was unrecognizable, as not many had seen him smiling. But now he couldn't help himself.
The music was beautiful, and both groomsmen and bridesmaids walked down the aisle decked in dark green suits and teal dresses. But his eyes were glued to his beautiful bride as she walked down the aisle in a white princess gown.
Orihime had a smile on her face, and crystaline silver eyes that were full of happy tears, when he lifted her veil. Looking at her face in that moment was proof that soulmates existed. As he couldn't imagine himself with anyone other than her.
"I love you." He whispered before kissing her.
"I love you too." She told him once they parted.
Admist the cheers and rose petals he could feel Orihime clinging tightly to his hand. He treasured that touch greatly, because once a long time ago it was last thing he felt before facing oblivion.
But no more, he could now hold his dear woman whenever he wished.
***
"So, my princess what have you decided?" He asked her as they were finally boarding the plane to their honeymoon.
"About what?"
"Your wedding gift from the rotten strawberry."
Orihime giggled. "That can wait. I don't want to think about him when I'm about to enjoy a vacation with you."
"You flatter me, still I hope you think about it later. It would bring me great joy to see you achieve one of your dreams."
Orihime placed a hand upon his pale face and gave him a soft kiss. "I have many dreams, Ulqui, but most of them are now realized because I have you. The rest can wait."

Eat • Sleep • Game
A little angst, a little fluff, a lot of smut if you reblog for a part two.
Dedicated to everyone missing the Toronto Show today, see you soon ☹️
It had been exactly 1 year and 45 days since you'd fallen head over heels in love with Jungkook. You know this because it was your second day of work at the game store when he came rushing through its door.
He had broken his game controller and needed one ASAP before his Overwatch team kicked him off. It was a brief first meeting but he'd come in at least once a week since then.
Inviting you to join his team, your friend circle expanded and his roommate Jimin had become your closest confidant. Unlike Jungkook, it had only taken Jimin a few weeks to realize how hard you were crushing on his friend.
Jimin was rummaging through the fridge while balancing his phone between his ear and shoulder. Nodding in Jungkook's direction he kept talking.
"You should definitely wear something really sexy…. I'll ask. JK, Y/N wants to know if you're coming out tonight?"
Setting his Banana Milk down a smile crept up to his eyes. He'd been crushing on you forever and had finally decided maybe he should make a move.
You'd be there, wearing something sexy AND you were asking about him?
"Yeah, I'll come," he tried to sound casual about it.
Jimin didn't have to relay the message, you were listening eagerly to hear his answer from the other end.
"He's really coming?
You sighed, "That just means I'm going to walk around pining for him all night. God I love him Jimin"
He laughed at your desperation, "It's going to happen sooner or later, believe me it is mutual."
Jungkook had gone back to his game but intentionally left the headset off one ear. Listening in, he was trying to piece together your side of the conversation. What? What was mutual?
"I thought that a year ago, how does he not know Jimin? How can I make it any easier? Do I need to just outright say it to him?"
He put on a seductive voice, "I've wanted to fuck you for the past year and if you make me wait a second longer I'm going to die."
Jungkook listened on, was Jimin really hitting on you like that? He never discussed his feelings for you with him but he thought it was obvious. His cheeks grew red and heated as the thought of you and Jimin together boiled in his blood.
"Alright I'll see you soon, come up and we'll have drinks before we go."
Hanging up he turned to Jungkook, "I'm grabbing a shower, I have a feeling tonight's going to get crazy."
Knocking on the apartment door you let out a huge breath, "here goes nothing."
You'd spent the day talking yourself into finally telling him how you felt.
Jimin opened the door, "Shit Y/N, look at you!" he playfully copped a feel of your ass.
"Hey Guk!"
Now or never, you walked behind him and put your hand on his shoulder. "How's the game?"
He was distracted, your breasts were right behind his head as you leaned in to watch him play. Your fingers dug in massaging his muscles. His cock was getting hard thinking about how good your grip would feel around it.
"Watch behind you!"
Brought back to reality you'd snapped him out of his fantasy.
"It's a shame you're going to have to quit, we should leave soon."
Jimin came out of the kitchen and handed you a beer, "I'm getting you so drunk tonight."
He set one down in front of Jungkook, "Pre game my friend."
"About that...I think I'll just stay home..I'm kind of on a winning streak."
You pulled your hand away from him in disappointment, all hope lost. Jimin could see you were visibly upset.
"Let's go to my room Y/N, we wouldn't want to distract Jungkook from his game.
"What the fuck is his problem all of the sudden?"
He pouted at you and kissed your forehead, "His loss sweetheart."
The Uber showed up about four drinks in. Jimin was already out the door when you turned to look at Jungkook. His gaze was fixed on you but he quickly turned back to the screen as not to be caught.
"Are you sure you don't want to come...I was kind of looking forward to hanging out with you?"
He stuck his tongue into the side of his cheek, "I'm sure Jimin will show you a good time."
Pulling the door tight behind you Jimin grabbed your hand, "Fuck him, let's go."
The club was packed. It was too loud, too hot and Jimin had abandoned you long ago to find a conquest.
The drink in your hand was empty but the lineup to get another was three deep. Your will to have fun had been left back at the apartment so here you stood, miserable.
Declaring the night a total waste you walked around looking for Jimin.
You tapped his shoulder until he stopped his makeout session, "I think I'm just going to leave Jimin."
"Why aren't you in the corner getting fingered by some hot guy?"
"It must be because I'm so pathetic that nobodies even attempted to talk to me tonight."
You tried to hold back your tears, no crying in the club right?
"Go," you motioned to the dance floor. "Have fun, she's waiting for you."
"I'm not letting you go home, not like this."
He hugged you tightly, "Take my key and go over there and tell him how you feel."
"Jimin, I'm tired of putting myself out there for rejection."
"Baby, this crush has been going on far too long, you need to find out for sure. You are way too amazing to not have a boyfriend."
You kissed his cheek, "okay I'm going to do it."
His imagination was going wild. He couldn't concentrate on his game and his teammates just kept yelling at him.
He was sure you'd be grinding all over each other, Jimin's stupid puffy lips getting to kiss you.
All the girls went for Jimin, he was just so confident. He decided a couple of loops around the city on his bike and a Ramen stop would help.
Unlocking the door you expected to see him gaming in the living room but the apartment was quiet.
Moving up the hall you knocked lightly at his door, "Kookie, can I talk to you?"
Opening the door a crack you peeked in, empty. Of course he went out, you'd finally mustered your courage to tell him and he was probably eating Ramen somewhere.
Fuck it, it was happening tonight. He'd have to come home sooner or later and you'd be here waiting in his bed when he did.
It was late, he didn't feel any better.
Putting on a movie he shut off all the lights and sprawled out on the couch. He wasn't going to be able to sleep until he knew if you were coming home with his roommate.
He must have dozed, the sound of muffled giggles waking him up.
"Shhh, we need to keep it down," kissing, loud kissing more giggles.
"Let's go to my room."
He looked at the clock, 4am. Fuck there was no way he could sleep now. He lit up his monitor and grabbed his headphones.
You stretched out on the bed taking a minute to remember where you were. One smell of the pillow and it all came back. Of course he didn't come home, fate was never on your side.
You opened the door quietly not wanting to wake Jimin. Tiptoeing through the apartment the light from his screen caught your eye, he'd really just been out here playing?
You walked over to stand beside him, was it too late to tell him?
"Hey," you startled him, "Don't you even go to bed anymore?"
He clenched his jaw, "I've been having a really good game."
Here goes…"Jungkook, there's more to life than video games. Sometimes it's nice to enjoy someone's company…"
He shot you a cold look, "I know I could hear you two enjoying each other all night."
His accusation floored you, "And so what if we did?? What the hell do you care Jungkook?"
He went back to his game and you slammed the door.
"What the fuck was that?" Jimin came out of his room in his boxers.
Jungkook stood to get a drink.
"Your loud fucking girlfriend leaving." He pushed him out of the way and Jimin laughed.
"You're jealous? Fuck you're dumber than I thought."
Steering him up the hallway he pointed to the girl passed out in his room. Flinging Jungkook's bedroom door open he pointed out the messed up sheets.
"Did you sleep here last night?"
Puzzled, he fell silent.
"She was in here waiting for you..all night. Maybe if you weren't so balls deep in overwatch you'd get laid once in a while."
The knock was so light you almost missed it. Track pants, t-shirt, messy bun and bare feet you padded across the room to answer it.
Looking through the peephole Jungkook stood on the other side.
You opened the door without a word or smile. "Can I come in?"
You opened it wide and walked away.
Plopping down on your bean bag chair you picked up your game controller and proceeded to ignore him.
"Can I play?"
You shrugged and threw the other controller at him.
He sat on the floor next to you and set himself up. "Can we talk about last night?"
"Sure what part? The part where you brushed our plans off or the part where you accused me of fucking Jimin?"
Taking aim you fired…
"Y/N, What the fuck? We're on the same team."
He grunted in frustration, "The part where you slept in my bed."
You turned and shot him again.
"Sorry, I just needed a place to crash."
You moved on with your mission.
Recouping he found you in his cross hairs and pulled the trigger.
"Can we just stop playing games?"
You threw your controller down.
"Fine what the fuck do you want me to say? That I like you? That it fucking hurts to know you prefer to interact with me through a god damn screen?"
He reached over and shut off the console.
"Move over."
"Jungkook, there is hardly room for two."
He pressed his body onto yours laying you back on the pliant chair. Staring into your eyes before pressing his lips to yours he smiled, "I like you too."
"This is never going to work you know, we're both way too stubborn." He cut you off with another kiss.
"I don't know, I think we make a pretty good team, at least when you're not shooting me."
You wrapped your legs around him tightly feeling him hard against you.
"Video games are kind of our thing, what else are we going to do for fun?"
"Hang on tight." He stood with you still wrapped around him.
"We're going to try a new thing. Where's your bedroom?
