I'm not so great a hand at tatting but after seeing some fancy antique sterling tatting shuttles online, and discovering narrow Celtic tatting shuttles, I tried my hand at a skinny shuttle just for fun. It actually works! But, uh, it's kinda heavy for a shuttle (I used 22g copper for the outer parts and 20g for the middle as I thought 24g might be too flimsy) and since it's both skinny and short, it doesn't hold as much thread as I'd like.
