greer grimaces - - - a usual expression on her freckled face - - - and then rolls her eyes as elissa speaks. she started tuning her out after said by whom and that look on her face and only tunes back in on the back half of the final sentence. "i should've known better than to come to you about it." she huffs as she runs a brush across the side and back of her own steed. if greer were truly upset she would have tossed the brush down and turned on her heel to stalk away, so she must not be that torn up over the response not being the one she had wanted.
"i do not want to attend the feast." said feast is in a fortnight, and some combination of other nobility that greer hadn't cared to remember the names of will be in attendance. it's sure to be boring, and tedious, and long, and they will expect greer to be presentable. "and i know mother is going to insist, and then we'll argue, and elethea will be snide about everything the whole while and truly, lissa, i would rather die than have to pretend to care about the idiotic things all those people are going to try to talk my ear off about."
@fals3nd (GREER!) said: ❝ a fair bargain leaves both sides unhappy, i’ve heard it said. ❞
the day is cool but clear, the crisp autumn day holding just the edge of winter's bite. the wind from the sea is cold, but bracing cold, and elissa thinks it might almost be mischevious. the kind to toss up leaves on shore, to send sea spray into the faces of sailors. a good day for a ride, elissa thinks, before the weather turns foul. she had not expected greer to take her up on the invitation to come along, and in alternating moments feels both relief and frustration at her presence in the yard as they prepare.
"said by whom?" elissa asks - - - equal parts amused and irritated, the resulting look one of strange exasperation. "i can't recall ever coming across such an argument." if anyone in their family is the bargainer, the negotiator, after all, is it not elissa? she cannot recall the last time greer bargained for anything.
she runs her hand down to her horse's fetlock, holding it when the mare (at last) lifts her hoof. elissa makes efficient but thorough work of the cleaning, setting the hoof down before sparing her sister another glance. "if you're trying to bargain with our sister, i wish you the best of luck. i will have nothing to do with it," she warns. "if it is our parents you wish to bargain with, it would be best to start with a better perspective on what a good bargain truly means."

Dumpster Files: Giselle, Castiel’s redemption since 2018.
"The idiot is bugging Elissa again..." Cethin mumbled to himself as he glanced out the window, eying the man on her doorstep. The tree obscured things a little but he still could see most of the doorway from his bedroom window.
Giselle tilted her head curiously as she walked over, leaning against the window sill a little as she curiously looked around and noted the girl standing on the steps but her eyes darting to the man on the step in the suit, his dark hair a bit messy but in and attractive way. Cethin knew his name was Cast- Castiel? Casserole? Something like that. Beside him there was another woman who seemed annoyed, staring at her phone. Cethin didn't expect Giselle to turn and start downstairs as quickly as she did, rolling off the bed as he attempted to chase her. "Giselle! Wait!"
Giselle didn't quite have the same sorta boundaries he did and cut right over some of Elissa's flowers with at least a vague attempt not to stomp them before taking off towards Castiel.
Neve and Elissa were both floored, Castiel. The man who seemed to attempt to fuck everything that vaguely looked female was suddenly pounced with a hug from this girl, Giselle's arms locking around him and a giggle leaving her lips. Furthermore, Neve choked at Castiel's reaction - He didn't flirt, He didn't try anything weird but his arms latched around the girl once he knew who she was, ruffling her hair a little as he crouched down a little bit as he was far taller than her. "You're looking a lot better, Elle. I've been worried about you - Luke said you'd finally found your brother?" Giselle nodded quickly as she motioned towards Cethin who'd finally managed to catch up with her. "They're treating you right, right..?" For once, he showed something resembling concern for another human being. "Good."
Everyone wanted and answer as it flew along the grapeline, Jenna practically died laughing as she thought it was a joke, Juilet gasped, Everyone who knew Castiel wanted to know why this one teenager wasn't flirted with and treated like a human not a freaking walking sex toy.
/x/
" Get the fuck off from her, cocksucker." Castiel's voice was harsh even for a younger boy as he grabbed the man's arm, twisting it back and he relented after a moment. Giselle's tears still running down her face, her clothes ripped right off her small form and after looking around, Castiel grasped a coat, flopping it over her. His eyes softening ever so slightly as she cried and gasped for air from the panic she'd been in, sitting beside her.
When she calmed, he spoke. "You can't trust anyone here... They don't care about us, nobody does. "
"Can't I trust you..?" Giselle's naive tone shook as she spoke with wide eyes behind her glasses, a small crack in the corner.
"No, You can't..." He replied and let out a sigh. "Next time someone does that, don't bother screaming... Don't fight unless you know you can win or you're just going to get hurt or killed." He said, motioning to the bruises around his neck. "It's - It's not great but it's easier sometimes...I haven't found a better way."
/x/
"You're to nice, Elle." Castiel's tone was calm as he stopped beside her as she sat on the side of the sidewalk with a donation bucket. "Take what you want, Use people - they're going to use you anyways." He stated as he dropped his coat ontop of her and kept walking.
Giselle found twenty bucks in a pocket and a small pocket knife and a lighter... He acted like he didn't care but he did in his own way.

"I'm calling the cops. Asshole!" The woman screamed as she started to try to dial on her phone. "What 'good reason' do you have for stealing 1000$ from me?!" Castiel grimaced as he tried to figure out a way out of this without the cops getting involved. "I - I'm telling you, Karen. I just, Babe, I'm sorry. I was desperate just give me a second to explain."
He had no good fucking explanation, fuck.
He felt fingers gently grasp his arm all the sudden as he glanced down at the mess that was Giselle who pressed her face against his arm. "I-I'm sorry...I - I got you into trouble - I didn't mean to.." The slightly younger girl looked so pathetic that Karen's fingers slid off the dial button for a moment. "Who is she, Castiel...?"
Thank god. Perfect. He smiled ever so faintly. "She's my friend from the orphanage...She got herself into some trouble with a drug dealer - She just needed medicine - she was sick. It - It just was a mess. I didn't want her to get hurt. Babe, I was going to tell you about it I swear I just was trying to figure out how I could pay you back. "
Giselle was a pretty good actress as she tiredly rested her head against his arm and trembled. Karen's heart unable to be upset anymore at him over it as she sighed. "Alright...Alright. I still wish you would've asked me but - It's okay. "
Giselle's plan worked to as Castiel owed her now and sure enough he bought her lunch less she tell the truth. She didn't really like what he did but she understood his lesson... Sometimes, you just had to use someone else.
