Gonna be honest, I don't normally do things like that, but the idea popped in after I noticed a new post on the official ATLA YouTube channel. It was basically wishing happy birthday to Grey DeLisle, since she's the voice of Azula. There were also bunch of comments listing her other roles, but obviously no one listed her role as Naare. Which is reasonable- Almost no one knows or gives a damn about Freemaker Adventures. I've been in this tiny fandom for too long and I got used to that lol So I decided that it's up to me to give more spotlight to this character and the fact that it was Grey DeLisle who is her voice actor. Every time I rewatch season 1, I'm always so damn impressed with her performance as Naare. Her throat probably went through a lot considering all of the Naare's screaming lmao. Not to mention, Naare is my absolute favourite animated villain. I had to do something for that occassion! Oh and also it was a good excuse to not only draw Naare, but also give her a different outfit, because why not. Slay :)

Here's also my Naare figurine and I wanted to give her a little LPS cake, but I only found a watermelon so she gets birthday watermelon yay

Hood-Wicked AU

I was forgetting to show those guys since december. Well, this au mostly based on "red riding hood" But it has some quirks 1. The title of au is mix of word meaning and sound-similarity Red riding hood- hood and hoodwinked has hood Hood - good Hood!WINKED!- wicked So there's Hood-Wicked

2. Character "roles"

The Blythe here is named Varvara and re represents the "Varvara-beauty long braid" from Slavic fairy tales and folklore. She is really pretty and neat girl. Young witch who loves her big bro and fashion. Varvara is like a stylish rich but very kindhearted girl, she also really like to dance and the break times when Maki secretly making her a makeup Makril is the big "Bad" wolf here. Yes in this au he is more cocky and glamorous. Biggest fan of Lady Gaga and bon jovi. Even when he's role is the villian of faity tale, here he is still a good guy. The one who just adds charisma and passion to his every action, but being very sofly and calm when somebody needs this. Like in moments when he hanging out with Varvara

Vlada is red-hood. The girl who just can buy one bun with cinnamon for the loved grandma, but the "big bad wolf" buy her more, because he saw how it's important. The girl who tired of boredom in life and just want to make new memories and emotions spending happy time with friends. And the new character is gorgoyle Gaby , she is like mix of a Narrator and Petya? the boy from soviet cartoon where he is the regular kid who wants to go to Cinema but went into the Red Riding Hood fairy tale and starts the making history by his rules. I was find this really fun so i make a desigion to create a character like him, but more creative and also mane characters friend ( like Strix and Asio from main universe). Also she's the first trans character, yay! ..........

Main villians in this au is the sirens Dugon and Tricke . They reprensents the hunters from fairy tale. Most inspration for them was sirens in mlp and Biskit twins from LPS. Also the big inspirations was belarusian sirens called "Swityazyanky" because the legends about them born from lake "Swityaz". Sirens specie in my universe can having a two forms. The one that siren and mermaid people using in water, like a true form. And the one that the using for walking in front of other people. In future im gonna show their true form and tell more about they're villian plan. But just remember, in fairy tale the hunters target was the big bad wolf...

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it :). My headcanon for every more happy-go-lucky/always happy/jokey comedic relief is just that they are secretely very insecure because, well- obvious reasons really B).

I will do the fluff headcanons the same way actually that I will give one for each character because otherwise I'm not gonna be able to restrain myself and they will all be for Vinnie. Btw, the way I think of them 99% of the time is in human au, so while I will try to keep those neutral know that if they're not that's the reason.

So anyway, Vinnie - he loves all things warm and cozy cause he's cold-blooded/is just one of those people who is perpetually cold in human au. Heck, not even just warm, he loves when it's downright hot. So blankets, radiators, scorching hot baths/showers, just the sun in general, oversized, fuzzy clothes etc. This is literally a fluffy headcanon :3

Pepper - even though she tries to hide it after her "Pfff, I already know that, I'm the best!" facade, she's really pleased and sometimes flustered whenever she receives compliments, especially directed at her looks. She just doesn't expect them but tries to act like she does, but it's not rare for her to retreat for a while after recieving a compliment so she can comprehend it in peace and enjoy it.

Zoe - she is rather spoiled thanks to her rich parents and she is on a good way to be rich herself, but because she knows how good it feels she loves spoiling her friends too. She often offers to pay for things she wants to do with them that they wouldn't be able to afford otherwise, sometimes she pays just so they can taste the finer things in life, and don't even get me started on birthdays! She gives them such gifts they don't even know what they are or how to use them. But hey, she enjoys that and so do they.

Russell - his attitude towards their entire group is "They're idiots but they are my idiots". He really sometimes feels like he's the only one thinking there and gotta wonder how they even survive when he's not around... some more than others. But at the same time this role of him being their leader really got to him, this is his group, it's not perfect, but it's his and he knows them and he loves them, a lot.

Minka - every year for her birthday on top of other gifts her friends bring her stuff she can incorporate in her painting like streamers, sequins, dry leaves, anything that can be put on a canvas. Painting is her favourite thing in the world, and doing it using different things is first of all new and exciting plus them being from her friends even if those things are just everyday items like let's say buttons feels more personal.

Penny - she is just so freaking cuddly, she loves affection so damn much, giving and receiving it, both in touch and words. She is good at reading people and she's empathetic so she won't do it if you don't want it, but as soon as she gets a permission you're receiving so much pleasant attention. Even if you're protesting that you don't want it but actually do like it (cough cough Pepper and Vinnie cough cough) she knows it and will give those hugs anyway.

Sunil - he was really stressed out because his parents always told him they wanted him to be a doctor so he felt so much pressure and also he just didn't want to work as a doctor in the future. He was afraid to tell them but once he eventually did it his parents were completely fine with it. It turned out his parents weren't pressuring him nearly as much as he felt they were, his anxious mind just played tricks on him.

COSMIC || The Interview

Last December, we caught up with Hybrid Rose, one of New Zealand’s premiere up-and-coming electronic musicians and visual artists. At the time, she was crafting an EP - then called Hybrid Rose The EP. However, in the following months, the EP has evolved into her full-fledged debut release, titled COSMIC. We spoke with the future superstar again, about the album’s curation and the proceeding promotional blitz.

So how are you doing this afternoon, Rose? It's night here, but as usual, you're ahead of the rest of the world.

✪ Hybrid Rose: Hahaha!! I am a little bit nervous as the release for COSMIC gets closer and closer, but other than that I am pretty good! How are you doing, my dear?

I'm great! Now last time we had a sit down concerning the project, it was slated to be an EP and was tentatively titled "Hybrid Rose EP". What made you decide to make a full-fledged album?

✪ HR: Mhmm, well since then I've been playing around with demos I originally made for the album. Cutting the record down to 8-9 songs would've been easier, but as time passed, naturally music started to come together and I had 14 songs prepared and decided to add some more extra enhanced content, like visuals and a game.

So it'll be a true visual experience! This is certainly one way to make a splash on the scene; speaking of splashes - Mermaid Lovers is a newer track for the album. How did this one come about?

✪ HR:  Yes! I love mermaids, I love aquatic fantasies too! The album has a dark undertone of depression, politics, love, and drug use - and I wanted to step away from that and challenge myself to make a radio-friendly love track about mermaids falling in love, you can almost feel the intimacy in the track. Very beautiful!

It's one of my personal favorites, being a mermaid myself  Now if I'm not mistaken, the current single is System Corrupt with artist Jahleel. What was that process like, recording and tweaking the song?

✪ HR: Yay, Mermaids Unite!!!  So I actually made the beat back in August last year, and talked to Jah about writing and recording for the record. He loved it so much, and for about 4-5 months we spent researching and developing different ways we could be so bold about the concept of the track - which is politics. He went off and recorded, sending me clips and demos. We constantly went back and forth pushing each other with emails and Skype calls most nights and then one night we pushed out a beautiful track, which is, System Corrupt. We're so proud of it, and it's the second official single, Video Games being the lead single.

The video is, by far, the most visually-complex thus far! What was the inspiration, behind each of the clips? There were a lot of different elements that came together beautifully.

✪ HR: Awwhhh, why thank you!!! Well actually, I wanted to cover most social issues we've faced for so long, and how it's actually made an impact on our world negatively - and then I added clips (like pride parades and festivals), so it shows that even tho this planet/system is corrupted, we're gonna be fine and we're all living in our fantasy.

Is there any possibility that you and Jahleel will collaborate in the future again? Your flawless production beneath his vocals is the perfect combination, it's a match made in electronic heaven.

✪ HR: Ayyy!! Actually, well, we've been thinking about it It's a very stressful and on-edge team, but it works! We'll see what the future holds.

You debuted the tracks for a selective group of listeners a few weeks ago - how was that experience, to see the immediate reactions and get responses in real-time?

✪ HR: It was so exciting, the beginning had me all excited and ready to go, and by the end of the album, a lot of people were crying and feeling emotional; it was beautiful to see that even though we weren't very close, it felt so fucking beautiful - and thank you for coming!! Got any favourites?

For sure, at this point, Child of the Moon, Mermaid Lovers, and most recently System Corrupt are my favorites. Speaking of Child of the Moon - what was the process behind that track? Obviously, it fits with the overall theme of the album in a way, but what brought it into being?

✪ HR: I actually made this going through a really rough time, I just felt so out of place and so different. The song itself is about being misunderstood and lonely, and it naturally translates itself as it's own part of the album. It's my favourite experimental track, because it's full of rage and sadness.

Is there any chance it may get a visual in the future?

✪ HR: Of course!! I may be getting my favorite visual artist to direct an absolutely stunning visual, I am not sure if it will be featured on the COSMIC film but it'll get a future release.

So about COSMIC; where did the name spring up from? What was the inspiration behind it?

✪ HR: One day, when the album was almost together, it just came to me like a lightbulb! It made so much sense and I was so excited to finally talk about it and express my excitement, it was honestly a thrilling moment!

It honestly fits the songs so nicely, especially how streamlined the entire project has become.

✪ HR: Aww that means a lot!! Thank you so much ❤

Of course! Watching the project evolve from an EP to a full-fledged LP has been an exciting one. And now it includes a game; any hints about what the game will consist of?

✪ HR: The game is an arcade game, made on scratch! It conveys the concept of the Video Games visual; it's really fun and easy, and it has like 5 levels that get harder and harder.

For a closer, Rainbow really seems to bring together the elements of the entire project. What was that track inspired by?

✪ HR: Well, I kinda wanted to make a song that really brings out the vulnerability in Hybrid as an artist and character, so I created this demo that was originally a little lullaby ballad, and turned it into an 80s dream pop fantasy, while still carrying out the important message of this album.

Very nice! And how have the messages of the album evolved, since it was first slated as an EP? What other layers have you added to the concepts you instated previously?

✪ HR: Well, the concept for the EP was the same as the album, since then a few of the original tracks like Child Of The Moon and Beautiful Sinner did play a huge part of the album - the messages and the story as a whole. It all connects and collides, and not a single track is considered a filler.

And it all flows seamlessly! What was the recording process like - what sort of state were you in when tweaking tracks and creating the overall flow for the album?

✪ HR: That's quite interesting, in terms of writing, I work better while travelling or in a very crazy mindset. However, I wanted to be in a certain feel or vibe, so I listened to the same music all the time - just so I could get into the album creative process vibe, but it's all different every song.

Any notable places you traveled to, to sort of get in that mindset?

✪ HR: Usually my bedroom actually, haha!! I am able to hide myself from reality and put myself in a different location and feel that lifestyle, drinking cold water or sucking on ice cubes really help the aesthetic flow.

But you have to travel around home sometimes, right? What are your favorite spots in New Zealand? Whether for inspiration, or for finding some time to wind down.

✪ HR: I love taking the ferry to the capital; I also recently went to a 17th birthday party and had to take the train to the destination. The place was called Waikanae Beach, and the evening train ride is absolutely stunning. You can see the ocean, the little islands, the melancholic streets, the birds, the blue sky, the sun setting, it is all truly a cosmic dream. The beach and little town itself as well is absolutely astonishing. Everything about the train and the destination feels absolutely perfect.

Sounds like something out of a dream, indeed! Are there perhaps any places on your list to travel to in the next few years? Places that interest you or inspire?

✪ HR: I want to move to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. I could go to New York, London, LA, Germany, Paris, but I would rather much stay in the home space that has lifted me out of bad places in my life, even if it is temporary. There is a song on the album called Dreaming Of Happiness, it's a sad ballad. It is about dreaming of being in a better place, moving away to the city of Wellington is the only place I need to be to be happy. It has so much and more, truly a personal place.

Q&A: From Hybrid, to the fans

What does COSMIC mean to you? ✪ HR: COSMIC is my everything, the album, the concept, the definition of the word. It all perfectly explains where my life is right now, the creative process and the overall way to express how I feel about it all.

How did you come up with the concept of Mr Blue Sky?

✪ HR: The concept came to me from love, the story is surrounded by a broken relationship. I used to call him my Mr Blue Sky, because he was the light in my life. I wanted to say goodbye to it though. It was inspired by this time when I was in the capital, taking the ferry home, and looking back and thinking "Well, this is it, goodbye". I was listening to the Honeymoon record by Lana Del Rey, the beautiful cinematic music mixing with the sunny sky and beautiful ocean and the gorgeous island - it was definitely a sight to see.

What is one song that never fails to make you happy, and one song that never fails to make you cry? ✪ HR: Just Having Fun On My Own never fails to make me happy, or System Corrupt. Rainbow is a really emotional song, it is also the closer. Child Of The Moon as well, it's about feeling misunderstood, it's probably the saddest song on this album but in such a beautiful way.

We can see from the your album and short film that visuals are just as important for the Cosmic experience and story, how does the process for creating visuals compare to songwriting for you? Are they the same?    ✪ HR: Funny you ask that, but no haha. The songs all connect like a story, but the visual expresses it in a different way that I could never proper express, mainly because I would feel too exposed about myself and my story. However, I am happy with both outcomes and I wouldn't want to change a thing.

Why inspires you daily?

✪ HR: Happiness, even though I have mental stability issues, I always choose to pick the things in life that make me happy. The world is my Muse. I also listen to a lot of music that has affected my life, stuff by Coldplay. They have been a heavy influence on my writing and composition for this album, especially that one record they did called 'Mylo Xyloto', it's a fucking masterpiece.

Which artists inspired you the most while making this record? ✪ HR: Coldplay, I am pretty much their biggest fan at this point. I was listening to their music when I started the creative processes, and I would just let the song play in my mind, it's really fun. I would also come home after school, sometimes before work and put their Mylo Xyloto vinyl on repeat and just listen to it while ideas flow. This was around the time of the mixing phase.

What is your songwriting process? Do you have an idea before hand of what the tone of the album is? ✪ HR: Generally I start by thinking about what I want to talk about, I never plan what a song is gonna sound like. I just clear my mind and start writing chords and melodies without even thinking about it. After that I am able to craft what it's gonna sound like in my head, and then I work and work and work until I have achieved the desired sound.

If you could collaborate with any artist on a future album, who would that be and why? ✪ HR: I want to work with Azealia Banks. I love hip hop and I love her music and her style so much. Would be fun to create a hip hop record with her.

If you were to do a megarate of COSMIC, what is your own personal top 5?

✪ HR:  Hmmmmm, I would definitely want Just Having Fun On My Own up in there. Dreaming Of Happiness too, because it's my ultimate favourite. They would be the top 2, Uhh and then I would throw Pixel, System Corrupt and Rainbow in there.

When did your passion for making music come to fruition?

✪ HR: Maybe about 7 years ago when I was recording lil voice demos of songs I would write in my little diary. I was probably 10/11 when I started wanting to be successful musically, but as a lil young 6/7 year old I would be sitting in the lounge watching television shows and just having alot of fun and dreaming of that freedom to make people happy and inspire them.

What inspired you about the vaporwave genre specifically? ✪ HR: I was inspired by the internet - you never see it on TV, as like, full on vaporwave. Tumblr has a lot of it, a lot of those cheap arcade games from those broke down websites use it. I love that aesthetic though. It always looks so pretty, and I have always been attached to the feeling of vaporwave. It's kinda spiritual to me hahaha!

What other styles of music would you like to explore? ✪ HR: Hip Hop! The title track for COSMIC is like an EDM/Trap, and I would want to make my next project a bit more on the Hip Hop side I guess.

Who were the artists what inspired you growing up? ✪ HR: Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Marina and The Diamonds, a lot of Disney stars, Azealia Banks, Gorillaz, especially the one and only Lana Del Rey.

Do you plan to do any live performances? If yes, can you describe what they might look like, visually?

✪ HR: I would want to dress up just like Hybrid Rose from the animations, the long black hair and the blue shirt with the heart in the middle. I would also play original stuff live, as well as do my own twist on others music. I am very shy and I have terrible performance anxiety, but I hope to overcome that soon. I would also be playing synths live and pay friends to play some of the other instruments so it's more of an organic show. For future projects, I hope to do live performances that include fashion, technology, art, dancing and singing. That way it comes off less than a pop show.

What or who were your primary inspirations for Cosmic?

✪ HR:  I was heavily influenced by a lot of things, mainly by the events that went on in my life. A year ago I had my eyes re-opened, and I haven't been the same since, in a positive way. I was also heavily influenced by Coldplay and Tame Impala, musically. Coldplay has influenced my life, hugely! I am so grateful for them, and they have brought me out of a dark place. I also got influence from experimenting with different aesthetics - 8Bit/Chiptune being one of them. I love video games and retro vibes, it suits the throwback idea of things.

How is it that you are so talented at such a young age?

✪ HR: Aww well thank you ❤  I have worked hard for years constructing the right sound and vibe. I find it important that, as an artist, all of the music I make comes from the heart and soul. Unlike other people in the musical industry, I work hard on my art. I crafted, composed and produced every track on the album. I directed, filmed and edited every visual on COSMIC, I am the art design director and put the booklet together myself. I made a small arcade game for the fans experience. I put it all together without any help. I aspire to lead the next generation of artists into a sense of independence when making their art and projects. It is important in this day and age when creativity is allowed, that the people who are the face of their creations, are the same person who make it behind the cameras.

How would you describe the album Cosmic if you could only use three words? ✪ HR: Love, Spirituality, Rave.

Are there any teasers of what fans can expect from you next? ✪ HR: Ahah! I can't say too much, but I will say that I am in the works of a COSMIC Deluxe!! That will be coming later on this year!

If there is one core message your fans can take away from this album, what would you like that to be? ✪ HR: Be creative, be free, be yourself, even if you go through the toughest and craziest events in life, because there will always be happiness at the end.
