This is very much leaning onto the Soviet Sherlock Holmes adaptation because I absolutely love how when they first meet they lean into how Watson suspects Holmes is a criminal and gets a little bit stressed out about it.

Thinking about what Sherlock said in the first part of Shoscombe Old Place, “Remarkable thing. To see this trickle through the country side knowing what he’ll become. Journey. Growth, and finally lost to much deeper complex waters. Unrecognizable in the homogeny.”

I know he was talking about the Thames but by the end of the adventure I realized it was a metaphor for Watson. God I love this show

Ahhh, good question... I have a list of Hair Petting/Playing/Pulling, but that's total opposite of what you're looking for. I know I've read some before as well, but they're escaping me? I think it's because it's not really tagged because they're not a big part of the story.

Maybe this series by @loveismyrevolution might have something you will like? I haven't read it yet, but seems promising?

Hairy Situations at 221B by Loveismyrevolution (E, 68,444+ w. across 4 works || Series WiP || Established Relationship, Quarantine/Pandemic, Hair Disasters, Humour, Beards, Experiments, Blow Jobs, Jealousy) – Quarantined or not, Sherlock loves to cause trouble which sometimes results in quite... well... hairy situations. If John is rather disgruntled or delighted depends on the subject of Sherlock's studies and experiments. But no matter which way, in the end it always results in a lot of laughter and love...
