I cannot stop thinking about the fact that Holmes was ca. 27 when they met. 27. That's so young. Aaaaaaaaaahhh. They had a whole life together ahead of them!!!

The funny thing about Sherlock Holmes is that even though there is soooo much scholarship out there and soooo many adaptations you can never quite find someone who is exactly the same kind of insane as you.

I’ve never watched The Umbrella Academy but from what I’m putting together on my dash I’m so sorry they pulled a BBC Sherlock on your asses
Season 1 and 2: Pretty damn good
Season 3: Kinda bad but you’ll still watch it
Season 4: Will make you regret ever saying S3 was bad because what the actual hell was that?

Sherlock meta time: 1895 counter on John's blog = gay
So I was scrolling on Pinterest - as one does - and I came across a post stating that the number John's blog is stuck on in I believe ASiB was the same as the year Sherlock Holmes fell into the Reichenbach falls in the ACD canon, 1895.
Now, this in itself is wild, but then my mind brought up another thing I saw a few days ago, a meme on Tumblr (if someone wants the link I can send it)
Tumblr media
So
The reason they left London in 1895 (I assume in the same story with the Reichenbach Falls but I can't know for certain) was described as 'circumstances in which I need not enter' or something and people in this thread connected it to Oscar Wilde's trial for 'gross indecency' (aka being gay) which took place in the same year.
N o w, as a reminder, John's count on his website froze on 1895. In this year, Oscar Wilde was sentenced for gross indecency, Holmes and Watson went out of town presumably for that reason AND the Reichenbach Fall of the original stories.
While the number could stand for the original Reichenbach Fall, I don't really see where that would go BUT what if it stands for Oscar Wilde's trial? And for ACD Holmes and Watson being out of town because of it?
In my opinion, if we combine this with the 'Irene ships Johnlock' theory I read on @inevitably-johnlocked 's blog (it's a lot more complicated than that but that she basically knows something is going on), this could be her doing, trying to make fun of them or give them a hint in the right direction. Who knows? Not me, I'm just here to collect the puzzle pieces.

How Watson Learned the Trick
This short tale was commissioned to go into one of the books to go into Queen Mary's Dolls' House, a gift from the country to the wife of King George V and the woman for whom the ocean liner now in Los Angeles is named. It was made at a 1:12 scale and showcased the finest consumer products of the day. It was put in public display to raise money for charity at the British Empire Exhibition of 1924-25, a massive colonial exhibition at Wembley that even included a mock air attack show involving the RAF.
Afterwards, it was moved to Windsor Castle where it remains to this day on public display.
The main legacy of the British Empire Exhibition was the sports stadium built for the event, which become Wembley Stadium, the home to English football finals among many other things, including music, professional wrestling and the 1948 Summer Olympics. In 2003, it was closed, demolished and replaced by a new stadium on the same site, which does similar things.
Disposable razor blades were first patented in 1901, by King Camp Gillette, creator of the company of that name, now part of Procter & Gamble.
Before that, safety razors with guards to protect you from cutting yourself deeply while shaving were around - reducing the need to visit a barber for that - but needed sharpening, something best left to a professional.

Headcanon that in the months after Alistair's death (pre his move back to London at the end of season 2 ofc) Sherlock actually kept up their monthly meetings, going to visit Alistair's grave instead. After some time had passed tho, he stopped going as often, but he does do his best to make sure he visits at least 2-3 times a year- on Alistair's birthday, on the anniversary of the day he died, and on the anniversary of the day they met for the first time all those years ago

Sherlock Holmes returning after the hiatus and being faced with the excruciating reality that his friends did grieve for him.
With Watson looking 10 years older and Mrs Hudson sitting him down and telling him very sternly that she will not have any of this selfish nonsense ever again, and Lestrade being amazed at his return but also clearly hurt and alienated.
And Holmes having to come to terms with that. To realise that what he thought of as a heroic self-sacrifice actually was a cruel and desperate act. And then realising that he did everyone an injustice for not acknowledging the true depth of their affection - simply because he never learned to like himself very much. Having to find a way to apologise and repent, and, when they allow him a second chance, allowing himself a second chance too.

One little known fact about Sherry is that she has a ridiculously high spice tolerance. The Sinners find this out on accident when dining out at a restaurant of Hong Lu's choice, where he tells them about a certain spicy mustard served there that they can dip their food in.
Most of the Sinners are incapable of handling the sting but Sherry just keeps eating the mustard. She's in tears and has to keep scrunching up her face, but she absolutely loves the burning sensation whenever she takes a bite. Hong Lu, of course, is very happy she likes it, and Ryōshū is mildly impressed she can handle it, but the other Sinners are a bit terrified of just how much spice Sherry can handle.
