ambrosia is SO fucked up over apparently being part of this plot from the beginning. (I'M FUCKED UP OVER IT TOO TBH) when she hears gortash speak, telling her how she killed for the absolute, she... knows he's telling her the truth. she can feel he's being honest. and it kills her

she's tried to be kind. she's tried to be good. she's tried to save people, to ease their suffering and bring joy into their lives. and she knew there was something wrong with her, the urge she felt was too strong... so she has tried to make up for it. especially after alfira, she swore to help people instead of hurt them. she could be better than this, stronger than this....

only to learn it was more than just a few killings here and there. gortash tells her she was the leader of the cult of bhaal. and she doesn't want to believe him, she wants to believe this is a nightmare she'll wake from at any moment and this will all be forgotten in time. but she doesn't. gortash still stands in front of her. it takes all her willpower not to crumple to the floor in the middle of the throne room

she'll be better than this. she'll shed her past. she will be better than she was before. she has to. so many lives depend on it
