actually I also wanna talk about the part where Percy convinces Bob to kill Hyperion because even though Percy never says anything outright sinister, the way he handles the entire situation with such cool ease, playing on Bob’s emotions... its so insane???

Because Annabeth’s reaction to the three of them encountering Hyperion reforming is: “oh this is bad we need to get out of here” She knows if Bob remembers himself, that it's not going to play out well for Percy and her. She also thinks about how they're being pursued and don't have a lot of time. Her solution to the problem, seemingly, is to leave.

But Percy's solution is to work the situation to his advantage. He re-affirms Bob's loyalty to him:

Percy then re-establishes Bob's moral code: "Some monsters are good. Some are bad. This Titan is bad. He tried to kill me and a lot of people. He's not good like you are."

And it ends with Percy leaving the choice of whatever to do with Hyperion to Bob but of course, is it really what Bob chose to do? Bob decides to kill Hyperion. It's not what he may have done, if Percy hadn't intervened. But it's exactly what Percy was oh-so-sweetly leading Bob to do.

And listen, I'm not claiming that it was exactly morally bankrupt of Percy to take advantage of a once-evil titan who could get him and his girlfriend through hell in one piece. Percy, Annabeth, they manipulate monsters and enemies all the time. Annabeth ended the previous book with manipulating Arachne into weaving her own web. So it's not exactly like she's against using manipulative tactics, in theory.

But Bob, at this point, is not just some monster. He is so painfully sincere in his belief in Percy and their friendship, so yes, it does feel a bit sinister whenever Percy uses Bob... and he really uses Bob.

And I think what makes the scene so unsettling, it isn't just that Percy manipulated Bob, its how well Percy manipulated him. He manipulates Bob so well that Percy doesn't even have to kill Hyperion... because Bob does it for him. He manipulates Bob so well, that Annabeth couldn't tell if Percy was purposefully trying to manipulate the situation. (Newsflash, he most definitely was). Like holy shit.

y/n always wore her headphones. it was like her shield, a way to drown out the noise of the world around her. social anxiety was something she'd battled for as long as she could remember, and the headphones were her safe place — a place she would retreat into whenever she could.

going to camp half-blood was supposed to be different. it was like the perfect place for misfits and somewhere she could finally feel like she belonged, according to her satyr protector long ago. but on her first day, she found herself reaching for her headphones more than ever. she kept to the edges, avoiding eye contact and hoping to blend into the background. it was ironic; she felt like a misfit in a place full of misfits.

but percy jackson had a way of noticing things. and he noticed her.

percy had always been the kind of person who made friends easily, especially being the saviour of olympus and a son of one of the big three. he had a laid-back, golden retriever kind of personality. so when he spotted the girl, always with her headphones on and keeping to herself, he was naturally intrigued.

"hey," percy said one day, walking up to her after archery practice. y/n looked up, startled, and pulled one side of her headphones off.

"hi," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

"sorry, i didn't mean to startle you. i'm percy," he said sheepishly, offering her a friendly smile. "i've seen you around."

"y/n," she introduced herself, fiddling with the cord of her headphones.

"cool headphones," percy remarked, hoping he could ease the tension. "whatcha listening to?"

y/n hesitated, not sure why the percy jackson would be talking to her. she took off her headphones, handing them to percy. percy accepted them with a smile, putting them on as the music flowed into his ear. "no way, you listen to them too?? i swear, i've never seen anyone listen to this artist. i like your taste."

she relaxed a little, a small smile appearing on her face. "i adore them, they're my favourite band ever."

percy couldn't help but grin as she smiled, happy that she relaxed even a little bit. "mine too. what's your favourite song by them?"

days turned into weeks, and percy made it his mission to break through y/n's walls. he started inviting her to join him by the lake, offering her training lessons or sometimes following her around like a lost puppy as she chuckled. slowly but surely, she began to come out of her shell.

one sunny afternoon, percy noticed y/n sitting alone under the shade of a tree by the lake. she gazed at the water as she listened to the music flowing from her headphones. percy approaches her with a wave.

"hey, y/n," percy greets.

"hey, percy." she looked up, giving him a smile and removing her headphones.

"mind if i join you?"

she shook her head, and he settled in beside her. "what're you listening to today?"

y/n handed him her headphones, and percy listened for a moment. "i love this album." he hums before handing the headphones back.

"why d'you always wear your headphones?" percy decides to ask, dipping his hands in the cool water. they always spent their free time there together, not that any of them complained. they enjoyed eachother's company. "you don't gotta answer." he added quickly, not wanting to intrude her privacy.

y/n took a deep breath. "they help me cope. with... pretty much everything. the noise, the people. it all gets too much sometimes." she admits softly, looking down at the headphones in her hands.

percy nodded understandingly. "i get it. everyone needs something to help them through tough times, y'know?"

"yeah," she said softly, meeting his gaze. "i appreciate, by the way. for being so nice to me. i know i'm not the easiest person to be friends with."

"are you kidding?" Percy snorted, shaking his head. "you're awesome. you just need someone to see it."

y/n blushed, looking away as a shy smile played on her lips.. "yeah, maybe."

from that day forward, their friendship only seemed to grow even further. percy was there for her every step of the way, helping y/n find her confidence that she never knew she had. in return, y/n's calm presence helped ground percy's impulsive nature. they balanced each other out perfectly.

y/n realised how much she'd changed. she wasn't the same girl who hid behind her headphones. she still wore them, but now they were like a part of her rather than a shield.

"thank you, percy," she said suddenly as they sat at the beach.

"for what?" he asked, glancing over at her.

"for helping me," she replied, meeting his eyes.

percy smiled, reaching out to take her hand. "always. we're in this together."

it wasn't long before percy realised his feelings for y/n. he wouldn't admit it to himself, though. all of their hangouts by the lake and beach, the times where they'd listen to their favourite artists together, or the times percy had held her hand as he taught her how to wield a sword.. no, it couldn't be.

as the sun dipped below the horizon, a golden glow casting over the camp, percy found himself standing at the edge of the lake, waiting for y/n at their spot. she arrived, headphones around her neck as usual, with a smile that warmed his heart. a smile that y/n knew percy liked, so she wore more often. they sat together, side by side, in comfortable silence.

"percy," y/n said quietly, her voice barely audible over the soft push and pull of the lake's water.

"yeah?" he replied, turning to look at her.

"why are you so nice to me?" she asked, her eyes searching his.

percy took a deep breath, his heart pounding. "because... i like you, y/n. i like spending time with you.uou make everything better. and, well, i.. i think you're pretty amazing."

y/n's eyes widened in surprise, her cheeks turning a rosy shade of pink. "you do?"

percy nodded, staring down at the lake as he blushed. "yeah, i do. and i want to be there for you, always. if you'll let me."

she reached out and squeezed his hand. "i'd like that, percy. I'd like that a lot."

percy felt a wave of relief wash over him. he had been so nervous about confessing his feelings, but y/n’s response made it all worth it.

y/n turned to percy with a thoughtful expression. "you know, i never thought i’d find someone who understands me like you do."

percy smiled, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face. "you’ve helped me too, you know."

"how?" she asked, genuinely curious.

"you’ve helped me slow down, appreciate the little things. you’ve shown me that it's okay to take a break and just be in the moment. otherwise i probably would've hurt myself." percy laughed.

y/n laughed along with him, smiling brightly "i'm glad."

percy found himself looking forward to their time together more than anything else. he appreciated every moment when he made her laugh, the way her eyes lit up when she talked about her favorite music, and the peaceful silence they shared by the lake.

as they sat by the lake, y/n turned to percy with a serious expression. "you’ve helped me so much, percy. i don’t think i can ever thank you enough."

"you don’t have to thank me," he replied, squeezing her hand gently. "i’m just glad i could be here for you."

"i want to do something for you," she insisted. "anything. name it."

percy thought for a moment, then smiled. "just stay by my side and be yourself. that’s all i need."

was thinking about next-gen kids and decided to doodle a couple. elaborated thoughts below:

Iphis is named with the same naming conventions that Sally used when naming Percy - primarily, mythological figure who had a good fate. Nice for Percy to honor his mom by naming his own kid the same way and Annabeth gets a fun nerdy mythology name. Also sending good vibes to their kid. Plus middle name directly in honor of Sally, of course.

Specific myth is Iphis and Ianthe, with the idea that a.) it's gender-neutral so works regardless of kid's gender and b.) not only does Iphis have a good fate, but arguably nothing bad happens to them ever and they get helped out by like three whole pantheons who show up in a literal parade and they live happily ever after. Percy and Annabeth are pushing for the BEST vibes possible.

(Also I am a very strong proponent of the "I don't think they'd name their kids after dead family/friends" so none of them have that)

Iphis of course inherited the Jackson family early grey hairs <3

Virginia is named after Juniper (cause Juniper is specifically implied to be Juniperus virginiana). She's probably been childhood bffs with Iphis since Iphis was born.

Chuck is Chuck. I gave him a Yankees jersey cause you know he's being raised as a sporty kid.

Do you ever think about how OP Frank and Hazel's kid would be. It's ridiculous. Quadruple legacy, including 2/3 of the Big Three. Frank by himself was already so OP the gods had to nerf him. Hazel came back from the dead and Frank kinda just said "nope" to dying that one time. Hazel presumably has every power that Nico has which is. A lot. Not to mention what Hazel has been shown to just be able to do on her own (including but not limited to SINKING AN ENTIRE SMALL ISLAND). Ares/Mars kids can functionally be completely invulnerable sometimes and also have some limited necromancy. Combo that with Hades/Pluto kids also being hard to kill and having necromancy as one of their main powers. Not to mention how Pluto geokinesis might combo with Chloris (goddess of spring) powers? And this kid is 100% being protected by both Nico (who is probably a deity by that point) and probably Pluto himself as well? Hello?

Anyways Hazel and Frank's kid is a total powerhouse. Possibly functionally immortal. Easily strongest demigod of her generation.

I like to think the latent Chloris legacy would crop up (probably in combo with Mars and Poseidon's plant aspects) and give them an accidental Persephone-type theme and that's fun. Frazel's goth daughter who takes after her grandmother (and uncle).

Figured since Frank is Canadian and Hazel is from Louisiana they'd go for a French name. The flower theme was not intentional on their part it just happened. Law of demigod naming conventions appears nonetheless.

I figure Leo might not have kids of his own but he probably still hangs around with Hazel and Frank so of course he's going to make their kid a cool thematic robot pet. He's probably her godfather or something.

Ronan is literally just some kid who showed up at the Chase Space who coincidentally was a legacy of Freyr and could shapeshift. Magnus and Alex obviously can't have kids cause they're dead, BUT some orphan with essentially a combo of their powers just shows up on their doorstep? Their kid now.

The ironic part is of course their shapeshifting powers just happen to be because they're distantly related to one of Annabeth's friends. Ronan finds himself suddenly gaining two parents and two cousins (Iphis and Lily) in rapid succession.

He only picks up Magnus' last name though cause Alex has 100% disowned her mortal parents.

He has a seal flipper cause shapeshifting and apparently "Ronan" means seal. I just wanted to draw those two showcasing their shapeshifting a lil bit.

Might try to doodle the other next-gen kid thoughts I had at some point but idk when. anyways yeah.

"percy, you're staring," his co-worker laughed and nudged the younger boy. he startled and put the coffee down.

"who is that? 's she a regular?" he asked, staring at the girl who'd just come in. she stood in line with two other girls. one of them pointed at the menu and said something while she nodded.

"no, don't think so," his co-worker replied. "i haven't seen her around before." they started to make their way over to the register, before turning to percy with a smug smirk on their face. "y'wanna take them?"

percy looked back at the girl and nodded quickly, handing off the order to his co-worker, who simply laughed.

"hi! welcome to jesse's coffee. i'm percy; what can i get for you?" percy said.

"hi, percy!" the girl smiled. "i'm y/n, this is maya and rio." her two friends waved. rio whispered something into y/n's ear, winked at percy, and pulled maya away to find a table. y/n turned and yelled to her friends, "real subtle, guys." she turned back to percy, shaking her head with a soft smile on her face. "ignore them, they're stupid."

percy laughed awkwardly and willed himself not to blush. "so, what're.. uh- what will y'all be having?" Y'ALL??? where did that come from? leo would have a field day when he found out...

fortunately, y/n didn't seem to know that y'all wasn't a part of his regular vocabulary. she rattled off her and her friends' orders, pointing at the chalkboard menu behind him. he nodded and smiled.

"alright, your total is $18.14," he said. she nodded and pulled out her wallet. she placed a couple of bills on the counter between them, eyes flitting across the numbers on the corner.

"shit. i'm a dollar short," she sighed. "uh, i guess i won't have the croissant..." she looked longingly at the buttery pastry in the display.

"hey, it's fine! you can have the croissant, i'll pay for it," percy offered. she snapped her head back at him.

"wait, for real?" her face split into a big grin, and percy's heart skipped a beat. "oh my gosh, thank you so much!"

"of course," percy smiled. "anything fo- anything else?" gods, why was he suddenly so awkward?

"i think that's it!"

"great, so uh. it'll be around like, uh." he looked around and back at the order. "fifteen-ish minutes?"

"cool," she smiled. she walked back over to her friends, who kept looking at percy, giggling and poking her.

fifteen minutes later, percy took a deep breath and scribbled the last number onto a napkin, slipping it into the brown paper bag that held her croissants.

"y/n?" he yelled out. she walked up the counter, friends in tow, and smiled that beautiful smile.

"thank you," she gushed, picking up her croissant and her drink. she turned to leave but quickly turned back to face percy. "have a nice day, percy!"

he smiled back and his eyes followed her as she left the cafe. when she was outside, the trio of girls stopped at the crosswalk. y/n reached into her paper bag and pulled out the croissant... and the napkin that percy has impulsively scribbled his number on.

she nudged her friends and one of them snatched the napkin out of her hands. the three seemed to have a discussion—though percy couldn't tell if it was giddy or heated. one of them grabbed y/n and shook her shoulder lightly. she threw her head back in a laugh and turned back to the cafe. the crosswalk light turned green and her friend started to tug her away. she grinned at percy and mouthed, thank you.

Connor got to camp at age four, where someone just assumed he was named connor, so they took up the name of a dead boy named connor and decided that yeah, he/him was alright. didn't know what trans meant at the time, they just sort of... anyway, then after the battle of the labyrinth they came out as NB.

wood nymphs. they've got a different gender system than demigods, as well as different pronouns, but to keep it simple for the campers your best bet is they/them.

the resident god Dionysus ofc. he has a complicated relationship with gender (see his chapter in PJ's Greek Gods) but basically, doesn't care what you call him. he/they generally.

MTF:

Drew Tanaka! she's just. always considered herself a girl. there was never any hesitation. her mom called her son and she just. did not compute. her mom was accepting and just sort of called aphrodite up and told her that actually she had given birth to a girl. Aphrodite sent down a new wardrobe in return. she never changed her name.

Clarisse la Rue. she came out when she was twelve. her mom didn't accept her, but clarisse had run away years before that so... her mother never apologized. when clarisse went to her house with chris, it was only because she was truly desperate. after the battle of manhattan clarisse called her once, and. never again.

Lou Ellen Blackstone. she told cecil and will when they were eleven or so (SOM) but didn't really come out to everyone else until one of the hunters pulled her aside in TTC to ask if she wanted to join bc the hunters are super good at finding girls apparently. lou ellen really regrets this but somehow cecil convinced her to make her legal name Louise-Eleanor (first) Wilmadeen (middle) Cecilia (middle) Blackstone. it-- she pretends it's just lou ellen. don't bring it up. Will thinks there was a murder involved and-- well neither of them are telling him otherwise, that's all i'm saying.

FTM: (oh boy here's where I projected a whole bunch)

PERCY MOTHERFUCKING JACKSON. alright folks you ready? so percy came out when he was twelve RIGHT before TLT picks up. struggling mother sally jackson immediately accepts him no questions asked (well there are a few questions but) she gets him onto puberty blockers from a free clinic on forth street right away and changes his name legally. financially they're still struggling, obviously, but sally is picking up some extra shifts. she's already planning on having percy go on T when he turns 16 (if he lives that long--) and after manhattan poseidon and sally sit him down and are like: okay so technically because of ancient laws poseidon can't just snap his fingers but uh if you want a real easy top surgery just do a really easy quest for him and he'll magic your tits away and percy agrees of course so poseidon drops a sand dollar on the ground and in the. most. indifferent voice possible he goes "oh no. my sand dollar. i need a hero." and percy picks it up-- and done. that's when he decides to join the swim team because he doesn't need to bind anymore. also when he heard the prophecy percy immediately went, well i know it says im going to die but hey the universe recognises me as a dude that's pretty cool right. very affirming for him.

NEXT UP we've got michael. height dysphoria kicks ass so seriously don't mention how short he is. anyway michael thought that it was spelt micheal so he chose it for the pun and to feel connected to his dad. uh. don't bring that up to him either. anyway despite being very short, michael's usually pretty stealth. he came out in ttc when he asks jake mason out bc luke used to date his brother lee and michael basically goes "hey do you want to go out i promise i'll be a good boyfriend and not leave you like luke left lee." and jake just bluescreens for a moment because wait, BOYfriend, and anyway after that michael realises he never told anyone. following that you'll find that actually the three main pjo apollo boys are trans. so WILLIAM ANDREW SOLACE. my baby boy is-- well he's got a lot going on. Will binds (but when he turns 16 he's going to get top surgery and he is. very excited) and don't let his mild mannered doctor self fool you he is a HYPOCRITE when it comes to binding, like that bitch will nag you for hours if you bind for over 8 hours and then you'll see him come off a 48 hour infirmary shift still binding. when he was young and his mother was touring, she left him with his grandparents. He tried to come out at five and cut all of his hair off, but his grandparents kicked him out. Clarisse found him in Texas and brought him to camp. which isn't SATS compliant but I haven't read it yet so *shrug*. Anyway Andrew is after Apollo, when Apollo first met Naomi, he called himself Andrew.

Lee Fletcher is also trans. He was fully transitioned by the time he died. He was super upper class when he came out and his mum stopped speaking to him, but he kept his wealth and became a staunch advocate for trans rights until he died. Anyway he came out when he was seventeen.

- Percy is great with kids, obviously, but he's rlly worried that you'd get into something while his back was turned so he's CONSTANTLY watching you. Can't get away with anything.

-stay at home dad Percy is so real, actually

- Annabeth likes reading you bedtime stories, even though she struggles with it

- they're both of the opinion that Disney has gone down hill, but they take you to the cinema every time a new movie comes out.

- Annabeth gets stressed out a lot about whether or not they make you feel like you belong, since she knows how much it sucks to feel alone within your own family, and she thinks it's gotta be even worse since you're adopted (that worry never really went away)

-  Percy made "monster spray" for when you're scared of the dark.

🖍️ Little kid (5-8)

- Annabeth takes you on museum trips a lot. It's important for kids to experience things, and of course she has to pick something the both of you like

- Percy cried like an actual baby when you lost your first tooth. He didn't expect something like that to effect him, but how could it not? You're growing up and it's happening a lot faster than he thought it would.

- loyal customers at your imaginary restaurant. (Yk those play kitchens with the plastic food? Those.)

- very emotional about the little art projects you bring home from school. They can rarely bring themselves to throw any away,so they have a little tote to keep them in when the fridge gets too crowded.

-speaking of school, you are very much THAT kid. The one with the character pen cases and the sparkly folders and notebooks with that Lisa Frank dolphin on them. (I WANTED ONE SO BAD!!) Percy and Annabeth decided you could only have the absolute best stuff.

- around this time they explain the whole gods, monsters, demigods thing. You had already met Grover and Tyson and some of your parents' demigod friends,so you knew some of it, but up till now they'd never fully explained.

🎮big kid (9-12)

-at this point, Percy is officially banned from helping you with homework. He's one of those "math is math, that's still the right answer!" dads, so when you got to the age where you had to learn and use different methods he noped out. Annabeth takes over from that point.

- if you get into sports, obviously they're your biggest fans. They show up to every game, they give your friends a ride home from practice, they probably wear those cringey T-shirts with shit like "soccer mom/dad" printed across the front in mismatched fonts. Percy's probably even an assistant coach. (Bonus for my softball girlies: Annabeth is totally the type to give you cool braids with the team colors weaved in)

- Again Percy cried over you loosing teeth. But this is your last baby tooth! You aren't little at all anymore! (It's even worse for him if you don't believe in the tooth fairy anymore by then)

- alas,the time has come. The last Christmas you believe in Santa. You told them they didn't have to put the elf up that year, that's how they found out. It caught Annabeth totally off guard. She'd tried to be very sneaky and very clever about maintaining the Christmas magic.

- you're having a Minecraft phase rn(everyone does at this point, don't fight it) and Annabeth is THRILLED. she doesn't play many video games, but she does like Minecraft and Animal Crossing,so she was so excited to have that in common with you. She gets especially excited about all the houses you build even though they're really basic at first.

📱Teen (13-19)

-went very all out on your 13th,16th, and 18th birthday. So much food, and confetti and probably invited all of their friends on top of everyone you invited. (For my summer birthday friends: paid for you and your friends to go to the water park for at least one of those,on top of everything else they had planned)

- very chill about your first partner, actually. I know that a lot of parents aren't, but I honestly don't see Percy and Annabeth being the track your phone and shotgun prom pictures type. As long as your partner was respectful and treated you well, they had no reason to be upset.

-coming back to the sports thing, Percy would be upset if you got to be embarrassed by them going to your games and stuff now. It happens for some kids, obviously (and him and Annabeth have gotten a lot more excited and a little obnoxious about everything the better you got), but he'd be upset that he's not cool anymore.

- proms and homecoming dances are such a big deal. They never really went to any school dances, unless you count when they were trying to find Nico and Bianca, so they're super interested in yours. They want you to have a good time, but they definitely might be projecting a little bit.

- On that note, for my long haired friends, Annabeth totally does your hair for you for those events. I personally think most Athena kids are good at doing hair, since weaving is part of Athena's whole thing and like doing complex hairstyles definitely requires that, and  Annabeth would really enjoy that bonding experience.

- Percy originally wanted to be the one to teach you to drive, but you scared him so many times that he couldn't be alone in a car with you for a long time. Everyone makes mistakes while they're learning, and he's usually a brave guy, but it's a million times scarier now that it's you. Maybe he's just worried about you getting hurt.  Maybe he doesn't want to have to pay for any repairs. Could be both.

- your graduation was so emotionally devastating for them. Gods, they're just so damn proud of you. Highschool isn't as easy as some people make it seem,and even if it was, it's still such a big deal. And it was also so bittersweet because you really aren't a kid  anymore, and they're so excited for you to experience the adult world, but they also miss their little baby.

-also,if you go to a school that lets you decorate your cap,I just know they'd want to help. Obviously they'd follow whatever your idea was but I could see y'all being an arts and crafts family, y'know?

- I don't wanna say that Annabeth has earned a reputation that could get you into any colleges without much effort because I don't think she'd let you get away with not trying, but like...if she wasn't like that, you could.

-also, they'd be really chill if you didn't want to go to college,as long as you were doing something safe and that makes you happy. They know that extra school isn't for everyone and they also know there's a lot of jobs that don't need any degree that can make more money than jobs that do (not that money's all that matters, but it's a good motivator.)

Honestly I know you're going to hate me for bringing this up but I really just wanna rave about this to you. I was recently rereading a PJO fanfic (please no tomatoes thrown at me I have long left the fandom and all I just was in the mood for this fic in particular) where the premise is basically Hera learns Zeus cheated on her (again!) and had a child so she decided "fuck it, I want a demigod" but she goes about it in the artificial insemination way, because that's not cheating, and the rest of the fic is her raising her demigod daughter in secret (because she's smart and doesn't trust Zeus) and it's just so cute reading her being a mother. My favorite bits in the fic I loved and wanted to share:

-She reveals her plan to Medea in the first chapter and once she does she basks in her plan with her arms outstretched and everything. Medea stares at her in surprise while Argus claps for her with a huge smile on his face. When Hera reveals she was cheated on again Argus is also shown wanting to pummel Zeus and even wipes away tears when she talks about wanting to be a mother again.

-Hera can tell what the perfect sperm would be and makes sure to have it picked. Thought that was a cool thing.

-The only gods let in on her demigod daughter is Oceanus and Tethys (they're supportive parents to Hera!), Poseidon who wants to be a cool uncle, and Hephaestus.

-Hephaestus and Hera have a crying session of the two getting drunk and getting things off their chest.

-Medea and Hephaestus bond over Helios's sun chariot that Medea still has because it's a car she tunes up. Hephaestus also makes his demigod sister a music box.

-Hera and her daughter wear matching outfits when they go to a waterpark.

-Poseidon was let in on his niece's existence because he was the only one out of the Olympians who noticed Hera was acting strange. We love a supportive brother! He also has a one sided rivalry with Oceanus with wanting his niece to like him more than the primordial. He keeps losing.

-Hera also brings in Tiresias to help her daughter because when she was two her daughter still wasn't talking. Tiresias realizes she's not talking because she can understand all the birds talking around her. Once she silences the birds by putting a barrier on the mansion, she and her daughter spend hours privately in her room just talking. =w=

Like I know you don't like PJO, very very understandably. But I just kept thinking while rereading this fanfic, "man, Sarafangirlart would love this scene."

So this is part of a project I'm making to design all the Greek gods( as many as I can anyway) in modern times!

It's part of my world building that is basically modern fantasy

I already have few drafts for other gods but these two are the final draft!

For those who are curious about my process when designing these:

Apollo: the long blonde hair was too iconic to not use, almost every text I've come accross that talks about Apollo or even just mention him calls describes his hair, who am I to deny the Greeks after all the effort they've put into pointing his hair out?

Some statues and art have Apollo's hair tied up, so I added a bun it also helps make the curly hair look more tamed rather than messy

I gave him many sun symbols mainly because I'm combining the Roman and Greek gods into one, I just feel like they're too similar and tied up together to warnt making them seperate gods( I'm not making it a split personality thing like Percy Jackson, it's just the gods changing as the world goes on)

I have him one earring with the moon because it's meant to be a gift from Artemis( also went with a yin yan theme for the shape since they both mirror many aspects of each other, civilization vs the wild, moon vs sun, both are protectors of youth)

I wanted him to have a young feminine body, he's very regularly described as clean shaven extra, but he's also athletic so I tried to show that with my poor attempt at abs ( I'm just a hobby artist, I have limits to my abilities)

I also made his outfit more feminine because he's depicted wearing women ropes oftene

I added many gold accessories, he's just the kind of god who pays a lot of attention to how he presents himself

I added the laurels to show his love and memory of Daphne and the hyacinth tattoo to show the same for Hyacinthus ( they're arguably his most famous love stories and his greatest lovers) I added the hyacinth as a tattoo for two reasons, one, since I'm going with the : his love for Daphne is because of Eros's revenge version of the myth, he holds greater love towards Hyacinthus ( also it was reciprocated so I think he'd love him more regardless just because of that) , two, because I genuinely couldn't figure out a better way to add it into the clothes lol

Artemis: I wanted to show that they're twins/fully related subtly by making them have the same face shape and curly hair

I made her body more masculine because she's described as being more masculine

Her outfit is also more masculine because she wears her chiton at the same length as men do, so I thought this is a good way to show it

I made her wear the bear fur to showcase the spoils of her hunting, also a call back to the Callisto myth

The flower used is one of her sacred flowers, though idk if you can even tell what flower it is lol, I tried my best

I decided to add the boar as a tattoo also because I couldn't fit it into the outfit itself, also I just thought it'd look cool if she summoned her killer boar and it got out of her tattoo!

I tried to show her hair as messy, she just woke up that way and put it into a ponytail, she doesn't care enough to put anymore effort into it ( Apollo hates it because his hair would look like a bird's nest if he doesn't care for it lol)

The moon symbols again, because I merged her with Diana, the sun earring is a gift from Apollo!

Artemis is usually associated with silver and Apollo with gold, it's why I made their jewelry be that, though their bows in mythology are actually the opposite, Artemis has the golden bown and Apollo the silver one, I'm not sure why, I read somewhere it might mean that her archery skills are slightly superior to Apollo's, if anyone has any other explanation I'd love to know!

Bonus information: in my world Artemis is an aromantic lesbian, I know she's in the myths probably just aro ace but I just like doing it like this, Hestia and Athena though are still just aro ace in my world

Anyway, hope you all find the designs good : ) I've worked for weeks on them lol

thinking more about the civil war between the camps because of jasico vs solangelo.

percy and annabeth & most old time CHB camper: team will. they love will, their lives has been saved by will countless times. they think he's awesome, they know about will's crush. they think that nico and will are really cute together, and that will would be great for nico. they're nervous about jason's crush, because they're pretty sure any combination of children of big three together will end up in a huge natural disaster if a bad breakup happens.

leo and piper & Fifth Cohort: enthusiastic team jason, they barely even know will. they all think that jason is the Hottest Shit, Most Handsome Dude, How Can You Not Love Him? piper feels guilt for dumping jason out of nowhere, and leo promises that if nico doesn't return those feelings he'll make a robot that looks exactly like nico who does (jason: leo no/ piper: leo yes). the other legionnaires are STUNNED that praetor grace is having boy troubles.

thalia: team jason, but not very enthusiastic about it because she thinks romance is overrated.

nico has no idea what's going on around him. he's honestly having the time of his life making friends with kayla and austin as well as the rest of the apollo cabin.

will is sure something is going on, but he's not sure what it is. he doesn't know quite what he feels about nico, they're friends and nico is really cool, but he doesn't really know how to proceed from there.

jason knows every single detail of what's going on betwee the camps. the missives. the missiles. the countless drachmas wasted shit talking back and forth between new york and california. the fistfights in the aphrodite cabin, piper almost losing her head counselor position because she's backing him and it's her and leo against the world here in camp halfblood. leo let slip his quip about robot nico and now his cabin is in revolt against him as well because uh fuck yeah they want to make a robot nico, except they won't have robot nico do gross stuff like feelings and dates. they'd make robot nico shoot flames and guns and arrows. it is entirely MORTIFYING for jason. jason wishes that a brick can hit him and make him lose his memories for a second time.

magical brick doesnt happen. what does happen is that he and nico play capture the flag together and get cornered trying to evade the enemy, so he gets to pick nico up like old times and fly them out of harm's way. and nico laughs and sticks out his tongue at the angry sherman on the ground below. and for a moment he's able to see the ridiculousness of the situation for what it is, which is hormone fueled teen drama, and decides that it's the most alive he's felt for ages.

I've been rereading the pjo series ever since the TV series released.

I hear ya, that's been months!! it's taking that long?? I'm sure you would think you'd be faster than me, and I 100% agree. but ysee I'm stuck at the lost hero. I miss percy, both him as a character contributing to the story and his narrations. and at the moment I'm not the biggest fan of Jason and Piper. They're too whiny in my opinion. like piper mostly worries about wanting jason to like her when the dude literally doesn't know anything about himself. And meanwhile Jason would also randomly say that she is cool and stuff but it doesn't really contribute to the story. Yeah, they have cool moments and I know that I'll like them more later, but I don't now.

Leo is good though, he's nerdy, he's goofy, he's funny, he has a tragic past, and I just like him ok.

I've been putting this book aside for like at least a month or two now i think, idk. But I've decided it's time to finish it so wish me luck and thank you.

Revamped God swap AU Pt. 2

After thinking it out, I think this is the main AU I want to focus on. It isn't gonna be a full god swap AU, it's gonna be only the characters I want because I'm self indulgent like that.

Percy - Keeping Percy as a Son Of Poseidon but his family has deep connections to the Greek world way back to the ancient times, so he's also a legacy.

The two gods I decided that I wanted to give him connection to were Athena and Sol.

At first I opted for Helios but after realized that one, he's faded and that I wanted the connect to Sol to be rather strong I decided to go roman. And two (if I ever read trials of apollo lol) I could possibly have him conflict with Caligula which I think was Neo Helios. Now unlike him being a legacy of apollo, he doesn't get the things like archery or plagues, just pure sun. I think I'd want him to have a blessing sort of like Frank to always have a part of the sun with them. Some of his family members had stronger connections than others however.

Secondly, the main heritage I wanted to give him was Athena. The main reason for this is purely epic the musical related. I was listening to it and thinking about how much Odysseus reminded me of Percy and so here we are. I think I'd want him to be a first gen legacy. Sally never figured out she was a demigod until Poseidon came around and an incident happened where she found out. I feel like instead of the normal wisdom and smarts, Sally just ended up with emotional wisdom and maybe a bit of telepathic abilities.

This being said I feel like this would make Percy and Athena's relationship complicated. Athena would probably keep her distance and maybe slightly aid him sometimes from afar. She has complicated feelings. I can already imagine Athena and Poseidon fighting over him because he embodies both of their aspects surprisingly well. Poseidon with the unpredict ableness and wildness of the sea but the wisdom, knowledge, and battle strategy in a fight.

If I wanted to make this very much more canon divergent than before then maybe Athena comes to accept Percy publicly after TLO and they actually have somewhat of a relationship and then HOO happens and he's basically disowned out of nowhere and sent to follow the Mark of Athena. After he finds out about his role in the seven he's sorta pissed. The weight of the world is on his shoulders again, if he fails this means their screwed. And this time he doesn't have anyone to share the burden with, he's all by himself and has to do it all alone (which he does, and then he falls into Tartarus so uh thats gonna go well lol).

So yeah. Thats how I feel about that. I feel like its an interesting dynamic and it doesnt really change Percy that much I feel like except more angst (lol) and a new set of powers which I think I'll have fun balancing around.

Luke - Yeah, I already basically explained the Hades thing so yeah, I'm definitely keeping him as a son of Hades. But I think I can seriously use this to strengthen him and Percy's relationship to make the betrayal hit harder for him imo.

They're more chthonic gods and I feel like they're be somewhat feared, or at least Percy is. Luke was before but he just gained the trust of the camp slowly so they don't really fear him. It would just be another way they'd bond over.

Thalia and Nico - I'll be keeping these two the same respectively, just a bit more stronger probably. I think I could come up with some cool legacy heritages for them I think the only one I could really see being a legacy is Nico soo..

Annabeth - Annabeth is going to be an Apollo kid, but similar to canon she doesnt really have any useful powers. Her main weapons would be her dagger and then a bow gifted to her by Apollo that produces arrows out of light but I think thats it. She still keeps her intelligence thing because Apollo is the god of knowledge lol.

I do think like Will Solace that she'd eventually unlock plague powers, but also like Will Solace that would be a Tartarus thing because I believe they both deserve to go dark and apeshit in Tartarus so. Percy will probably have his Poison/Blood Bending and Annabeth will have her Plague Powers.

Leo - Decided midway through this post that I wanted to combine the AU of Luke just having a bunch of runaways with godswap because like why not so. Thinking of a Leo godswap is suprisingly hard. I'm personally thinking maybe Hermes but like chthonic Hermes. So like he'd have the typical Hermes abilities but could also like shadow travel. He'd still embody most of his canon traits I feel like and he'd be afraid of his chthonic abilities because of the incident with his mom but by the end he'd probably have overcome it.

Magnus - I think the idea of Magnus going to CHB surprisingly well and I've been thinking about a godswap for him because like why not. And so despite me have only read the first magnus chase book up to the point where he dies I'm thinking maybe Thor?? If you guys have any better suggestions please comment and tell me. Could have a cool arc of him and Thalia training together, some sort of Norse crossover, maybe an arc sort of like Jason's where he's just trying to figure out where he belongs. Also does anybody know if like, Norse demigods can use their powers before they die and go to Valhalla or if its like a after they die thing do they awaken them??

Last thing but I've also been considering making an oc for this. They'd be related to Percy but they wouldnt be like a sibling or like a child of Sally. They'd either be like a child of Poseidon or something or a child from maybe Sally's uncle's side which also somehow got roped into the greek world. I'm just a killer for sibling and family relationships and atleast in the original PJO series it's done SO GOOD. So if you would be interested please comment! I really like when you guys like and comment so please. If you have any ideas on this OC I want to make or maybe Magnus's godly parent I'd appreciate it so much!

Percy and Lily knock on her bedroom door while she's packing. "Oh, cool," Ara mumbles. "I'm totally not worried that you two want to talk to me in private..."

Percy leaves the door ajar. "You got time?"

"Well, Leo is taking a nap in his cabin, Calypso is down the hall, also sleeping, and Lester is packing his stuff, so..."

Both teens come closer. Lily folds clothes into rolls and squares and hands them over to Percy, who tries to pack them neatly in Ara's bag. While they're at it, Lily starts talking. "We just came to ask what our instructions are this time..."

The way things happen is never ideal, but Lily is starting to realize planning does not warrant an easy journey, unexpected events are going to thwart their lives on the regular and she's come to terms with it. Ara not so much, she was hoping that getting Leo back would equal some peace of mind, but now they're packing up for another world-changing quest.

"Percy has no instructions other than to mind his business, I'm sure Annabeth will get him through. As for camp... You and Malcolm can work with Nyssa to rebuild the Pavilion and the docks. If we're lucky I'll be back before summer."

Percy and Lily share a look. "What about Calypso?" Lily asks.

"She's coming with us, so no need to worry about her," Ara sighs. "Personally, I don't think she'll help much, but I understand why she wants to stick by Leo's side. He's the only friend she's had in a while, so to be on a quest with him is better than alone with strangers."

"And you're okay with that?" 

"I think it's time we let her do whatever she wants."

Percy hums, staring at the hoodie in his hands. "It wasn't cool that she tossed out a curse at Annabeth, but I swore I would get her out and then I never saw it through. Frustration can mess with your mind. And arai are just ill-thoughts tossed out to the open, I don't think she was expecting it to reach Annabeth like that..."

"I don't know, Percy. I can't figure her out," Ara makes a face. "She's human, but her emotions are still so godly, and gods don't think like we do. Perhaps she meant it but thought it a lesser evil—as in, we're just human, so why care about us... At least that's how Apollo feels."

Lily scoffs. "And you still want to help him?"

"I'll be helping us in the process. And what else am I good for, really? Hestia tried to tell me before, a soldier always finds ways to stay on their feet. I think that's not how it should be worded, more like, a soldier is always more comfortable while on their feet."

Percy shrugs. "But it doesn't have to go hand in hand with war."

"Maybe the gods wouldn't care if you decided to sit this one out, Queen B," Lily tries. "It's not like you don't have things to do around here."

"And trust Apollo will do what's right?" She raises a brow. "Plus, Leo can't sit this one out, Lester needs Festus. And I'm not letting Leo get away from me if I can help it."

"That, I can totally relate to," Percy sighs, leaving the hoodie on the bed. "No offense to Leo, but sometimes I wish you hadn't ever gotten a boyfriend."

"Same," Lily mutters grumpily.

"Hey, you'll go away with Annabeth come the summer," Ara reminds him. "So we're parting ways no matter what. And you, Lily, have Connor."

Lily stares at the board near the dresser with a scowl, probably going through all the multiple ways this is bound to go wrong. "Everyone is going places..."

Percy rubs the back of his neck, getting a little defensive. "Just for a while, but you'll be coming to New Rome for college too, once you're eighteen. It'll be fine."

"True," Lily sighs. "If we get through this."

Ara lowers her eyes to keep on packing. "I guess... Yeah."

"You've got a lot to get done all around the country, the future is a blur," Lily pulls out the Aphrodite figurine from her pocket and hands it to her. "For my peace of mind."

"Is it blessed?" The girl takes it.

"Please," Lily rolls her eyes. "Like you need more of those. No, that's... so you remember you've got people here that want to see you come home in one piece. Even if things don't go as planned."

Ara hugs her tightly. "I know you have this urgent need to get out... Just now I'm realizing that you've been in camp for so long... staying was your way of showing faith in what I do. I can't thank you enough."

Lily buries her face on Ara's shoulder. "I wish you would've realized that sooner."

"Me too." Ara sniffs, holding the girl by the shoulders. "I can't promise it'll be you and me until the end, but laurel wreaths and godly blessings hold no candles to the honor of being your best friend."

Lily hugs her again. "Shut up. I love you too."

Percy takes a moment to talk to Ara by the seashore. "So... I talked to Calypso."

"How'd that go?" Ara hums, scratching Mrs O'Leary's ear. 

"There were apologies, some awkward laughs... Leo was there to make sure no one would get strangled," He says sarcastically, scratching Pollo's chin.

"And you feel better now?"

"Better isn't the right word," Percy makes a face. "I don't think we'll ever be friends, not like Leo and her, but... only time will tell."

"Did she say anything about me?"

Her brother raises a brow. "About what?"

The girl shrugs, avoiding his eyes. "Dunno. Anything..."

"Anything about... you and Leo?" He asks knowingly.

"Did she say anything about that?"

"Even if she wanted to, Leo was there, and she's already looking bad for cursing one girlfriend, I don't think she's interested in trying her luck with Leo. He's deeply radical about his way of handling the people who hate you."

Ara snorts. "You don't know him enough to say that."

"I know him," Percy states with utter certainty. "He's just like you."

"This feels too personal so I'm pressing skip," Ara pokes his shoulder. "Skip."

Percy smiles, then changes the subject. "Do you wanna go home to tell Mom and Dad what's gonna happen?"

"We don't do that," Ara pauses. "Unless you think I should?"

"I know you'll come back," Percy brushes it aside. "It's just... All your winter clothes are home—"

"Percy."

"You could take some snacks too, blue cookies, gummy sharks..."

"Tell me the truth."

"I... wanted you to see me graduate, and be there for Estelle's birth," Percy gives in. "And we both know this quest isn't going to solve itself over one weekend. The Triumvirate is the source of literally all of our past issues, it could take years to bring them down."

"Everyone keeps listing all the bad things I already know about this journey," Ara reaches for his hand. "I would like my brother to find something else to say so I don't leave completely bummed out."

Percy looks a bit ashamed. "Well... this quest might be the quest, you know? Every child of Olympus has a story of when they were at the peak of success, power, and youth. That's going to be you this time, so... go make history."

"Now that's more like it," Ara smiles. "If it makes you feel better, Nemo, I'm certain this is what I must do. There was only one path to follow on this, and that means it's going to work out no matter what."

It's hard to part ways with Percy, not just for the life-threatening quest, but knowing that if she can't come back before June, they'll never be together again. He'll be there at every holiday and birthday, but it won't be the same. It'll never be as it was at thirteen and eleven years old.

"I'm going to miss you," she whispers, leaving out 'the rest of my life', but Percy hears it in the quivering of her voice anyway.

"Only at times," he retorts, hugging her tightly.

Since the Pavilion got smashed to bits, she's allowed to eat with the rest of the campers for the first time in forever. Ara, Leo, Calypso, and Apollo share a blanket, Ara is trying to get used to this combination of people because it's the only company she'll have for a while.

Festus walks around the cabins hiccuping balls of fire at random times—the reason why Leo doesn't allow her to hug the dragon yet. "He got a little dinged up in Corsica," Leo explains while they eat. "Sometimes he spews randomly like that."

"He hasn't blowtorched anyone important yet," Calypso eyes Apollo. "We'll see how he likes you." 

"I had planned to go alone," Apollo says miserably. "The prophecy from Dodona speaks of the bronze fire-eater, but... it feels wrong for me to ask you to risk your lives. You have been through so much just to get here."

Calypso seems surprised by his statement. "Perhaps you have changed. That does not sound like the Apollo I remember. You definitely are not as handsome."

"I am still quite handsome. I just need to clear up this acne." He argues, his cheeks flushing.

"So you haven't completely lost your big head."

"I beg your pardon?"

"Guys," Leo sighs, "if we're going to travel together, let's try to keep it friendly." He reaches for Ara's hand. I'm talking to you too. "Besides, we were planning to head west anyway. I got to find my peeps Jason and Piper and Frank and Hazel and... well, pretty much everybody at Camp Jupiter, I guess. It'll be fun."

"Fun?" Apollo sounds exasperated. "The Oracle of Trophonius will supposedly swallow me in death and madness. Even if I survive that, my other trials will no doubt be long, harrowing, and quite possibly fatal."

"Exactly," Leo flashes him a crooked smile. "Fun. I don't know about calling the whole quest thing Apollo's trials, though. I think we should call it Leo Valdez's Victory Lap World Tour."

"Actually," Ara says. "Percy said this is my time to shine, and I'm calling pretty privilege on this thing."

"Hey, that's not—!"

"—What does that even mean?" The boys demand grumpily.

Calypso's laugh blurts out before she can stop it and she covers her mouth, looking embarrassed. Of what? Ara has no clue. Perhaps she thinks she isn't allowed to enjoy Ara's jokes because she's acted a little crazy in the past. Ara can't blame her, she's currently going crazy every month or so.

"You know, Calypso," she starts politely. "If you're coming with us, I'll make sure you're prepared."

"What do you mean?"

"You need weapons," Ara explains. "You look like a dagger girl—but also a bag with bombs and grenades has never hurt nobody... er, you know what I meant. I can train you."

"Okay," Calypso nods, slightly taken aback. "Am I... part of your army now?"

Ara tilts her head. "Great question. I suppose that depends on you. Lester is under my command because he's the son of Zeus. You, on the other hand..."

"My father was a titan, so not exactly part of Olympus..." Calypso nods pensively.

Ara shrugs. "I've got enough people to look after as it is—I'll look after you all the same as long as we're on this quest together, but uhm... it's your choice, really. Everything from now on is."

Calypso glows pink. "Oh. In that case, I... I'll be part of your army."

Ara isn't expecting that answer at all. "What? Why?"

"I want to be strong again, and if I don't have my powers, then I'll train and get better."

"Good idea, Cal," Leo smiles. "Ara's the best fighter there is, you'll learn a lot from her."

There is nothing Ara respects more than a demigod willing to take the punches just to come out stronger. She reaches for Calypso's hand and holds it firmly. "I know how it feels to be vulnerable. If you want my assistance, you'll have it."

Calypso shakes her hand with certainty. Next to them, Apollo visibly deflates, staring at their hands like it's the saddest view on earth. "Hey, man," Leo speaks, guessing as to what he's thinking. "Don't look so glum. We'll find her."

"What?" Apollo blinks.

"Your friend Meg. We'll find her. Don't worry."

The boy runs a hand over his tired expression. "Meg knows the prophecy. If she tells Nero, he will know our plans as well."

"I missed the whole Roman Empire," Calypso leans back while biting on an apple. "How bad can one emperor be?"

"Bad," Lester huffs. "And he is allied with two others. We don't know which ones, but it's safe to assume they are equally cutthroat. They've had centuries to amass fortunes, acquire property, build armies... Who knows what they are capable of?"

"Eh... We took down Gaea in, like, forty seconds. This'll be easy squeezy."

"No, Leo," Ara insists. "Gaea was a primal force that was bound to her nature, there were things she could not overcome. These guys... they haven't been sleeping, they know the world far and wide, made themselves gods, and don't have rules, nor respect for honor. It won't be a fair fight."

Leo frowns. "Nothing about me dying was exactly fair, though."

"No, but..." Ara thinks about the best way to phrase this for him. "At least Gaea tried to buy the car, these guys will break a window, try to get it to run, and if that doesn't work they'll tow it to their parking lot just to get money from reselling the radio."

Calypso and Apollo look extremely confused at her metaphor, but Leo's face shifts into full understanding. "Dang, those guys are monsters..."

"Beasts," she corrects bitterly. "It's not them we're fighting, it's their armies, and maybe, just maybe, at some point, we'll reach them."

"Ah, damn," Leo says, his southern accent gets stronger when he's stressed. "Now it don't sound as fun..."

"We'll succeed," Calypso pipes in making an effort to be optimistic. "We must. So we will. I have been trapped on an island for thousands of years. I don't know how long this mortal life will be, but I intend to live fully and without fear."

"Perhaps to ensure we can at least survive the journey, we should do a full checkup on Festus first thing tomorrow morning," Ara replies, watching as the dragon stumbles over its own paws.

"Sure thing, General," Leo smiles, happy to work with her. "As soon as Festus gets a tune-up and an oil change, we'll be good to go."

"I've got us all packed, so you two focus on resting," Ara tells Calypso and Lester.

Will Solace gets up and speaks. "Hey, everybody! We've started a bonfire in the amphitheater! Sing-along time. Come on!"

Ara and Leo make the same face. "Aw, man." He whines. "I'm terrible at sing-alongs. I always clap and do the 'Old MacDonald' sounds at the wrong time. Can we skip this?"

"I second that. I like singing, but right now I'm yearning for some peace and quiet..." Ara nods, feeling completely drained after the rollercoaster of a day she's had.

"Oh, no." Apollo declines the offer. "Singing is good for the spirits. You should never miss an opportunity to sing."

"He says that as self-promo," Ara jokes, holding Leo's hands as they get up.

Calypso grins. "Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but for once I agree with Apollo. Though you two can er... rest, if you like." The girl glances at Leo as if communicating something in silence. 

"Yeah, have a good night, guys," Leo waves with his free hand. He takes a moment to enjoy Ara's proximity before talking. "Rest sounds real nice, but I'd like to talk to you in private for a sec. Can we?" He points at the beach and Ara smiles, a bunch of fond memories coming back to her.

"Lead the way."

I skipped a couple episodes where I wrote down my thoughts, but I'm about to rewatch and write don't worry! warning: lots of screaming, fangirling, heart attacks, and nonsense below :))

ranking the Steam Team from early bird to night owl! (headcanons, ofc):

Henry, the earliest of early birds - literally. He goes to sleep and wakes up extremely early, sleeping usually from 7-8 P.M to 2-3 A.M, at which point it's considered morning for him (Gordon calls it the kipper conditioning since the train always left on an ungodly hour). It is completely natural, he does not need any alarms.

Toby, not as much an early bird as an early exiter, because he sleeps for solidly 8 hours regardless of when he goes to sleep, he just chooses to go at around 9 P.M at the latest most of the time - and as such, wakes up at like 5 A.M, with no need for alarms.

Edward, formerly known as permanently exhausted pigeon, used to go to sleep at 1-2 A.M, but changed that behaviour after moving out of the sheds because, well, they're a sucker for cuddles, and it's hard to get enough when the person you live with gets up an hour after you go to sleep. So now they go to sleep at around 9-10 P.M, although their wake up schedule remained unchanged at about 5-6 A.M. They have an alarm set, just in case, but usually won't need it.

Gordon forces himself to be an early bird, decided it would be more appropriate. As such, he goes to bed 10 P.M sharp and gets up around 6 A.M (although his alarm starts at 5.30 because he is decidedly not an early bird in nature)

Emily, still a permanently exhausted pigeon, as she is a natural (relatively) early riser, getting up at 6-7 A.M, but she also has a night owl wife, which wouldn't affect her sleep schedule if she wasn't inspired to make new, cool outfits so often because of her.. As such, she's going to bed at probably 2-3 A.M. No one understands how she can still wake up without an alarm.

Percy - just a guy, really. Goes to sleep somewhere between 10 P.M and midnight, gets up between 7 and 9 A.M. Sets an alarm if he absolutely needs to get up on the earlier side, but otherwise he's good.

Thomas, a mild night owl, goes to sleep after midnight, but no later than 2 A.M, mostly because he recognises that the world is built for early birds. Gets up at 9, maybe 10 A.M (if he can afford it) and has to rush to work anyway. Alarm clocks are his lifeline.

James, a proper night owl, goes to sleep at like 3-4 A.M, because his creativity works best at night and he also loves long showers, then gets up at 11 A.M, maybe noon, and complains about still being sleepy.... When he needs to get up earlier he will set an alarm long before the needed time to make sure he manages to get up on time, but also will not go to bed any earlier (unless the hour is like 5 A.M, then he probably goes to sleep at 1 or 2 A.M instead)
