NOTE: Okay, I'm here to show off/talk about my Genshin Impact persona/oc. If you aren't interested, you can ignore this, but otherwise, enjoy my baby girl.

NAME: Honestly, I haven't thought of one yet, so I'm just using Bri as a placeholder.

QUALITY: 4 Stars

WEAPON: Polearm

VISION: Cryo

BACKSTORY/VISION: Bri was born in Mondstadt before her family (including her) moved to Inazuma. She comes from a long line of kitsunes, but currently, in the line, she isn't a full blooded one. She has the ears and a single tail but can't shift into a fox form. She's partially/almost fully blind in her left eye, which had begun to fog as the blindness becomes more apparent the older she gets.

Bri earned her vision in a similar way to how Kaeya earned his. Betrayal. When she was 18 years old, she was in a one-sided relationship (not that she knew that as her 'partner' always acted like they loved her), when a huge altercation happened between them both. She learned her partner was seeing someone else and actually never loved her. Bri's anger quickly became apparent as she felt hurt by this new information.

A screaming match started between the both of them before something happened, and Bri was struck with a weapon. Lying on the ground with blood pouring down her face, her now ex-partner fled the scene, leaving her distraught. She was overcome with a wave of betrayal that morphed itself into elemental energy. In a large explosion, ice seemed to be unleashed from inside her chest.

Overcome with shock at the sudden ice surrounding her, it was then that Bri noticed a shining vision lying in the grass right in front of her. The altercation left her with a vision and a grisly scar covering her left eye, which is slowly leaving her more and more blind in that eye.

NOTES:

1.) Bri's current best friend is Heizou, as the two of them bonded over Heizou's detective work. She's a huge lover of stuff like that.

2.) Bri is literally just the puppy and lover of all the Inazuma women, including Beidou whenever she comes to visit. Though she does have the closest relationship with Ei (or Raiden Shogun) plus Mavuika (who has recently taken an interest in the Electro Archon's lover).

3.) Bri loves to be petted and cuddled. She really is just a puppy dog who craves closeness and intimacy due to the numerous betrayals she's had in her life. Basically, she's touch starved.

4.) Girl kinda has daddy issues.... like me.

I never did make it to the part of Kody's Redemption Arc that I explain some of Chelsie's background, but just so it's out there:

I made a point to mention in the plotline that Chelsie's life "took a different path" and she never went to college, seemingly jumping straight into the workforce. This is actually because when she was with her abusive ex, she got pregnant and opted out of going to college in order to care for the baby.

However, while their relationship was already going downhill, Chelsie had a miscarriage, and their relationship henceforth got exponentially worse until she made the effort to kick him out of their house and get a restraining order against him.

She does still see him on occassion to try to make some kind of amends because she doesn't want all her memories of him to be soured so much, but it usually ends with more bruises. Kody doesn't know she goes to see him, nor about the miscarriage, but I had planned for him to confront the ex at some point later in the plot.

little detail I've picked up on: lucanis seems to like it when rook is smart. not in an academically minded way, necessarily, but when they're clever/analytical and clear-eyed about the practical realities of a matter and able to sort out the bullshit. most immediate example that comes to mind is of course when rook points out to illario that zara physically can't have made it back to vyrantium yet by conventional means in the café scene (where they're also backing what lucanis is trying to say, so the approval there makes extra sense), but it pops up in several other places too where rook cuts through to the heart of a problem with that kind of thinking. his and davrin's approval often overlap, but davrin seems to like it when rook is resolute and practical (and kind but don't tell anyone that sssh <3 ilu davrin), where I get the sense that lucanis gets that extra little thrill when they're also clever. in another contrast emmrich likes it when you're curious and openminded and kind (a lot like solas in da:i really) -- more like a life-long earnest academic *would* think about and value learning and knowledge in terms of a process and way of thinking rather than the results that come out of it -- while i think lucanis kind of likes it (and possibly gets a little ah frisson out of it depending on your relationship with him lol) when your mind is a knife. which I think is really neat. also tracks perfectly with him liking both viago and neve too haha. he clearly enjoys the Thinkers of the world.

There’s something so very satisfying about Mon’s horror at Andor killing people and getting cold feet after years of espionage, and Cassian saying, “Welcome to the Rebellion.” (I love him so much 😭) Because this whole time she thought she was in the Rebellion. She even said nothing will be harder than these past few years, when she’s been living in total luxury. While Cassian was imprisoned and enslaved, Mon was at parties and hearings. While Bix was being tortured, Mon was having a full blown crisis over her daughter being a fucking conservative (which I mean, fair, but not life threatening). She has been stressed because of the rebellion, she has sacrificed, she has been inconvenienced. But she has not bled. And she certainly has not made others bleed by her own hand. Mon hasn’t gotten dirty like Cassian and others have. She’s been partying in heaven and they’ve been burning in hell, all while committing the same goddamned sins.

But there’s no going back now. People have died so she can live, and right before her eyes this time, in broad daylight. This is it. No more parties, or meetings, or hearings, or even a family. She’s not an esteemed senator anymore. She’s a rebel. Now she’s a rebel.

It makes me think about those who feel so holy and righteous by liking political posts or watching TikToks the full minute, when there are actual people fighting and hurting and dying. Rights are being stolen. Lives are being stolen. And some are acting like they’re a part of this great revolution by simply agreeing what’s happening is, in fact, bad.

There’s a line between ‘acknowledging something is wrong’ and ‘doing something about that wrong’ most are afraid to cross, and while spreading information and supporting those financially who need it is paramount to any cause, that line becomes very, very apparent when it comes to real effective activism, and Andor represented that spot on.
