Hii!! I had an idea for soft!eddie x reader… I hope you like it!
So what about soft!eddie x reader that watch a horror movie before bed because Eddie wanted to and reader said yes… but then reader wakes up from a nightmare and gets a little bit paranoid? Like she wants to go get a glass of water, but she’s so scared that she’ll see a creepy face appear out of no where? Or she doesn’t want to look at the windows and that kind of stuff? (When I wake up in the middle of the night, I get so paranoid/scared, I wish Eddie was there 😭) and she finally gets up to get a glass of water and then (in between all of that Eddie woke up) Eddie says something like ‘why are you awake at 2am’ and she has a jump scare, and drops her glass, and basically the adrenaline kicks in and she starts to cry because it’s too much and she was so scared? And Eddie just hugs her and comforts her and he helps her falls back asleep?
I hope all of that made sense… if not… I’m so sorry😭😭
I’m sending lots of love!! Have a good day/night!! 💗💗🫶

Thanks for requesting lovely <3
Eddie Munson x fem!reader ♡ 750 words
It’s a while before you can convince yourself to set one foot on the floor, but the inside of your mouth feels like it’s made of wool and something needs to be done about this. When no clawed hand reaches out to yank you underneath the bed, you take it as a sign of good faith.
Your footsteps are featherlight and cautious, every dark corner and unshuttered window a threat. An empty threat, you remind yourself, but even the voice in your head is shaky.
The Munsons don’t have glasses, but they do have an array of things picked up from here and there, plastic cups from restaurants and old containers and one plain mug for Wayne’s coffee. You grab a cleaned-out jam jar from the top shelf, filling it with cold water from the tap. It does the trick, sweet and refreshing on your tongue. You feel instantly better.
You pad back towards Eddie’s room with a clearer head. It was just a movie. There’s no creeping shadows here, no cloud so thick it blots out the moon. There’s fluorescent light from the street coming in through Eddie’s windows, and families sleeping in the trailers on either side of you. Nothing bad could happen to you here.
You slow as you get to Eddie’s room, trying to be quiet.
“Hey.”
Your gasp is so sharp it hurts a little in your chest. Your body stiffens, the condensation on the glass making it slip from your hand. It shatters on the floor.
“Shit, what the hell?”
You turn, and it’s Eddie—of course it’s Eddie, who else would it be?—standing behind you in the dark hallway, a pillow crease imprinted on his cheek.
“Oh my god.” Your voice comes out breathless, and you press your hands over your eyes.
“Babe, what—shit, are you crying? Are you hurt?” You shake your head, and Eddie’s hands come around your arms, pulling you towards him. “Careful, don’t step on the glass. I scared you, huh?”
You nod as he folds you into his chest, scrubbing up and down between your shoulder blades.
“Yeah? Well fuck, don’t to cry about that,” he says, panic melding back into sleepiness as his voice takes on a fond bent. “I wouldn’t’a hurt ya.”
“I thought you were the ghost,” you mumble sheepishly into his chest.
Eddie pauses for a moment. Your face feels ten degrees hotter.
“Me?” He sounds like he’s smiling. Then he lets go of you, taking your face between his hands, and you know he is. It’s giant and goofy, its own sort of light to combat the dark corners. “Shit, sweetheart, I’m flattered. But no dice.” Eddie shrugs like this is something he can’t help. “All flesh and blood in here, baby. The gross stuff.”
“Yeah,” you say quietly, embarrassed. Those couple of quick tears have already mostly dried, but Eddie swipes at them with his thumbs anyway, grinning like you’re silly. “I’m sorry I broke your glass.”
“It happens all the time,” he reassures you. “Don’t sweat it, I’ll clean it up in the morning.” He takes a big step over the glass shards, offering you a hand to help you do the same. Doesn’t let go of it even when you’re on the other side. “Should I be worried that you’re up at 2 in the morning looking for ghosts?”
“I was getting water,” you mumble, letting him sit you down on the edge of the bed. Eddie gives you a look. “I also don’t really do well with scary movies.”
“Yeah. I figured that one out when you wouldn’t go to sleep until I closed the blinds.” He grins. You smile back bashfully, and he makes a dramatic groaning sound, hauling you into a hug. “You should’a told me you didn’t want to watch it. I wouldn’t have picked it if I’d known you’d get all freaked.”
“I didn’t want to be a wuss,” you say. You can practically feel Eddie rolling his eyes over the top of your head.
“You can’t fight your true nature, babe. But it’s cool.” He flops the both of you over so you’re laying down between him and the wall. “This way, anything that wants to get you will have to go through me.”
You turn in his arms, pouting. “I don’t want anything to have to go through you.”
“Then let's go back to there are no ghosts, ‘kay?” He plants a kiss between your brows, snuggling you close. “Sleep tight, scaredy cat.”

NSFW Alphabet: TCYM, Omega Nat
Authors note: this is my first nsfw alphabet, and I really hope you guys enjoy! If this is something you'd like to continue to see with other fics of mine, please let me know!
TCYM Masterlist Nat Masterlist Marvel Masterlist
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
She's very soft after sex, wanting to be cuddled and cared for. She loves being held close to her Alpha, wrapped up in your strong embrace as you scent each other and you whisper praises to her. Whenever you run a bath for her afterwards, she insists that you join her because, though she won’t say it out loud, she just needs you close by.
She never wants you to be left out in aftercare either so she makes sure to reassure you that you made her feel good and took good care of her. She likes to run her hands through your hair, or rub your back as the two of you cuddle. Giving you kisses is also a necessary thing for her.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Her breasts are definitely her favorite part of hers. They're just so sensitive since she's had Dima, and having them played with just feels so good. Especially when you suck on her swollen nipples after teasing them. And the feeling of her Alpha drinking from her is nothing like anything she's experienced before.
Her favorite body part of yours is your arms. Not just because she loves when you wrap them around her but because of how muscular they are. She loves how easy it is for you to manhandle her during sex, how effortlessly you can carry her, and how turned on just flexing your muscles makes her.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Though she's shy about admitting it, she loved the taste of her own cum. Back before she had a mate, when her heats would hit, she’d spend a lot of time just cleaning her essence off her toys and fingers after pleasuring herself with them.
Your cum, she's crazy about it. Of course her most favorite place for it is her pussy, she loves the feeling of it filling her up and dripping out of her. But she also enjoys its taste. Having you fill her mouth and pour down her throat leaves her a needy mess for you.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
She secretly wishes to someday be able to peg her Alpha. The idea of being the one inside you, causing you so much pleasure that your cock hardens and leaks before you end up blowing your load drives her insane.
She's thought about it a lot, and is currently working up the courage to ask you about your interest in such a thing.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
The only experience she had before Bruce forced himself upon her was with a vibe and medium sized dildo in the comfort of her bedroom. That being said, she was no longer allowed such toys after Bruce got a hold of her. Still, she knows a lot of what she likes and doesn’t like, but she still has a few things she wishes to explore.
With you, she knows a fair bit about what she's doing. She can easily turn you on, work you up and make you feel good, but there's still a few kinks and interests she's yet to discover.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Her favorite is missionary, as she loves the intimacy of having you so close to her and highly enjoys being able to look up into your eyes as you pound into her.
But she's also a big fan of doggy and cowgirl. 😉
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
She's truly a mix. She can be quite serious, able to focus only on the combined pleasure of the two of you. But she can also be silly, usually feeding off of you if you are. She's able to laugh and joke about funny things that happen. But nearly all of the time, she's just very soft.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
She keeps herself trimmed, as having hair down there doesn’t bother her, she just likes to keep it neat. And yes, the carpet matches the drapes.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
She's very romantic. For her, it's all about loving words and actions as well as the pleasure. Even in heat, when she's consumed with need, she cares more about romance than she does a quick fuck.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
She currently feels incredibly guilty when masturbating. Because, though it was a rather normal occurrence in her college years, that all stopped with Bruce. He viewed it as disgusting and when he caught her, he would be very mean. He became violent and would break and throw things while calling her a whore. Ultimately, it just further proved how fragile his ego was, and how inferior of an Alpha he is.
You, on the other hand, are trying to get her back into exploring herself. You've assured her multiple times that it's healthy and normal and it would never upset you, and you've even helped her pick out a few things to try. Though she's still a bit hesitant she has at least given into the urge a few times.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
She loves being praised, it's probably her favorite. She’s also into small bits of degradation as long as you're possessive about it. Such as: “My slutty Omega”, “My good little cumwhore” and so on.
Another big one for her is her lactation kink that you share with her. She loves the feeling of your mouth on her nipples, and knowing that you're turned on from tasting her milk makes her feel so good.
She's yet to try this one with you, but she's absolutely turned on by the idea of double penetration. She wants to feel you deep in one of her holes while you use a toy to fill the other one.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
While with pup, her nest is her absolute favorite place. She loves how soft it is and how it has the perfect mix of her scent and yours. But she also enjoys it in bed, mostly because your scent is super strong there.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Any breast stimulation from you is an instant turn on. Sometimes a possessive grab of her hips will have her swooning as well. Your words are good at it too. Not just dirty talk either, but things like “good girl” or “my good Omega” are basically like pushing a start button. Oddly enough though, even seeing you being a good parent to Dima can turn her on.
Currently, with her high hormone levels, just seeing your muscles flexing or your bulge in your boxers is enough to have her aching with need.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Impact play, choking, and weapon play are definite off limits due to everything she's gone through at the hands of Bruce.
Anything more than mild and still loving degradation is also off limits.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
She enjoys receiving oral. The feeling of your mouth on her most sensitive parts never fails to fog her brain. And when you add your fingers to the mix, you’ll have her coming undone in no time. And you look so hot with her cum on your face.
She also enjoys giving oral. She loves making you feel good with her mouth and tongue. Looking up at you to see the look of pleasure on your face while getting to feel your cum spill down her throat always leaves her soaked.
Her skill level is decent. She can easily make you feel good and always has you cumming, but she does still struggle at times to take your full length and she doesn't always know what to do with her hands. But she's learning.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
She usually enjoys it slow and sensual, but recently she's become more open to the idea of trying it fast and rough on occasion.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
She loves quickies, and while pregnant they are a very frequent occurrence. When not pregnant, she still enjoys them, but she's not as often.
To her, it just shows how in love the two of you are that you just can’t seem to keep your hands off each other whenever thoughts tend to wander.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
She's willing to experiment, but with Dima in the house it's a bit harder to be risky about what's done and where it's done. That being said, she’d love to try having sex in your car and in the backyard under the stars.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
She has impressive stamina, even while pregnant. Sometimes she can go multiple rounds over several hours. This is practically doubled when she's in heat. But like all things, it's not always the case. There are days where one round is more than enough for her.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Yes, she owns toys. Though using them was much more common when she was back in college and without a mate. With Bruce toy owning and usage was absolutely off limits, but you're trying to get her comfortable with the idea of using them. There's no shame in toys.
You’ve bought her a vibrator, some nipple clamps, and a dildo specifically made to look and feel exactly like your cock. You know they interest her, as you have used them on her and she really enjoyed them. But solo play is understandably still hard for her.
And unknown to you, she's also bought a harness and dildo in the hopes that she’ll get to use them on you some day.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
She enjoys teasing you quite a bit. Your natural dominating actions and soft possessiveness turn her on a lot, and she finds that you really let that show when she does something to you.
She’ll do things like purposely: bend over naked in front of you, wear something to show off her milk enlarged tits, brush her ass or hand across your crotch, say something suggestive while looking up at you through her lashes, pump out her pheromones in order to overwhelm your senses, and start touching herself when she knows you’ll walk in and catch her.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Having a pup, she's learned to control her volume. But when alone, she lets herself lose control. She can be very loud. She moans, whimpers and purrs a lot during sex. But her favorite thing to do is moan your name, so you know how good you're making her feel.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
She's very eager to try roleplaying. Specifically with you in your security uniform from work. Something about seeing you in your element stirs something inside her, and all she can think about is you ‘detaining’ her and fucking her senseless.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
She has some old scars from her rough childhood before Melina and Alexei adopted her, but thankfully they're few in number. During college she had her belly button and nipples pierced, but she hasn’t worn any of her jewelry since becoming pregnant with Dima. Where her neck meets her collarbone is her claiming mark from you that covers up her now faded one that Bruce forced upon her. She has a small red star tattoo on her right ankle, to symbolize her Russian upbringing. Yelena has a matching one.
Her breasts are larger than they’d normally be as she's making milk for multiple pups now, and there is of course a swell to her belly where your pup is currently growing.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Currently, it's through the roof. Having pups inside her has her horny very often, and the only thing that can help her find relief is her Alpha.
Usually, she has her horny moments, sure, but she can contain herself until Dima is out of the house or nighttime comes around. Unless it's during her heats, during that time it's just easier to have Yelena watch the pups so you can give her your attention and sex almost constantly the whole time.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Currently, very quickly. Being with pup already takes a lot out of her, so once she cums she's pretty spent. And then, having you cuddling her just affirms how safe and loved she is, so it's very easy for her to just nod off.
Usually though, she doesn’t tire so easily. She can go a few rounds with you and still has energy to spare. Letting her attend to other things that either need done or is just something she wants to do.

Daddy's Boy- Part One//t.c.
warnings: breakup, unexpected pregnancy, angst, fluff, cursing, i think that's it? This is a long one, grab a snack?
You were both young and dumb, and Timmy’s career was growing steadily at the time. He was taking on more and more movies, more commitments, and he straight up told you that he didn’t have time to be in a relationship anymore. He told he’d love you as long as breathed, and maybe one day you’ll find each other again, and you could be together.
You were heartbroken. You didn’t want to speak to him after the breakup, though he tried. It was too painful to even speak to him knowing that you couldn’t have all of him. You knew that cutting off contact cold turkey would be the best for you in the long run.
Just as your healing began, you missed your period a couple of months after the breakup with Timmy. You hadn't missed a period randomly before, so you decided to take a pregnancy test. You hoped that somehow it was only a fluke, and you weren't carrying a Chalamet baby.
Your hopes went out the window when two lines appeared on the tiny screen of the test. You were pregnant.
........
You gave birth to a perfectly healthy and beautiful baby boy. You named him Theodore, with a French flair as a secret nod to his biological father. Though you didn't ever reach out to Timmy, you hoped that the French name would be like a little clue as to who the boy was, if he were to ever come across him.
You were blessed with the support of your family who helped you in any way that you needed as a single working mom. They didn't have any harsh feelings toward Timmy, as he had no say in what the situation was. Your family stuck by you and your decisions.
You worked full-time and took care of Theo when you weren't on the clock. Any free time you had was spent with family and friends. You didn't have the time nor the energy to push yourself back out into the dating world. Besides, you knew that you had already experienced the love of a lifetime with Timmy. No one and nothing could compare to how you felt with him, and you were so in love with the son he gave you.
Theo was like his father in so many ways. He had Timmy's quirks and bubbly, goofy personality. He brought so much laughter and silliness to your life. Like his father, he was never boring. Theo was also sweet, thoughtful, and cuddly, even as a three-year-old.
As he got older, he started to realize that the other kids at his daycare had daddies that would pick them up at the end of the day. He mentioned to you that he felt sad about not having a daddy like the other children.
You told your sweet son that he did have a father, but he just couldn't be with him as he had to leave for his job. "But your daddy is a good man, and he loves you. Don't ever think that you aren't loved, Theo."
"Okay Mommy." your little one said with a shrug.
"Would you want to see some pictures of your daddy?"
Theo's eyes lit up and smiled widely, nodding immediately.
....three years later....
Holy shit. It was him. Timothee. You had taken your son out for a pastry while you got an afternoon iced coffee and you see your ex-boyfriend across the room, who also happens to be the father of said son but has no idea his son even exists because you haven't spoken in three years. What a day.
Your thoughts and heart were racing as you thought of the different ways that this could play out. You could grab Theo, and leave immediately, so as to no give Timmy a chance to even see the two of you. But that would be the shitty thing to do. To be honest, you have felt shitty for three years keeping Timmy's child away from him. You couldn't leave. You wondered if it was fate bringing Theo's father into his life, after all these years.
You decided to stay. You wiped some chocolate off of Theo's face, his sweet little face that was a carbon copy of Timmy. Your son had his father's eyes, nose, hair, body type, everything was all Timmy. Your own genes didn't even try when it came to making this child.
When you looked up and over Timmy's direction again, he caught your gaze. Your former lover's eyes widened at you, as he realized that the two of you were in the same vicinity.
"Mom, I know him! From the pitchers! That's my daddy!" your toddler's voice rang through your ears, and before you knew it, he got down from his chair, and started to run across the coffee shop.
"Theo!" you called after him, getting up immediately to catch him, but he was quick on his little legs. "You cannot run off by yourself!" Your heart was racing, you had never lost control of your little boy like this before, and you were worried he'd get hurt or maybe even a stranger might snatch him.
"Whoa little guy!" you knew that voice better than any other. Timmy had picked up Theo, holding him as if he'd held the boy every day of his life.
You looked on as Timmy and Theo looked at one another, matching dark curls, pale skin, and green eyes. Timmy smiled warmly as your son blushed and hid his face into Timmy's shoulder, acting shy suddenly.
"Hi, y/n." Timmy said, looking at you. "You've got a cute kid."
You took a deep breath, this moment up until now only existed in your dreams, "Thank you."
Timmy sighed, a melancholy look took over his face. You could tell his mind was racing. He came to know the truth, you could see it on his face. He tightened his grip on Theo, holding him more snuggly. "He's mine." It wasn't a question, it was a fact he had realized.
You looked down, feeling so ashamed at yourself. "Yes, he is."
He glared at you. There was nothing behind his eyes as he shook his head. But his expression changed instantly as he turned his attention back to his son. "What's your name, little man?"
"Theodore." the little one grinned, "But Mommy calls me Theo."
You watched as Theo softened like putty in Timmy's arms, he even put his hand on his dad's shoulder.
"I seen pitchers of you. Mommy showed me. I know you my daddy." The declaration in the boy's voice was noticeable.
Timmy chuckled lightly, "She did? Well, I'm very glad to finally meet you, Theo."
You could see your ex-boyfriend's eyes begin to well up, so you said, "Timmy, let's go to my place, okay?"
"Yeah! I want my daddy to come and play with me!" Theo cheered, super excitedly.
Timmy wiped his tears away quickly, "Of course, I'd love to."
.........
The whole way home, Theo was telling Timmy all about his favorite toys in his room. Timmy was fully engaged with what the boy was saying, understanding him perfectly as he spoke. They were instantly like two peas in a pod. It was remarkable. It did, however, add to the stinging pain of guilt you felt about keeping the two of them apart.
Upon entering the house, Theo dragged Timmy by the hand to go show him his room. “Whoa, whoa, slow down buddy.” Timmy said to the three-year-old as he laughed at how excited the boy was.
You couldn’t help but smile at how they got along. You decided to leave them be, to let them play and bond. You did some of your general chores around your home and tidied up the space, then sat down on the couch to watch some mindless tv.
Before you knew it, it was Theo’s bedtime. You had the difficult task of breaking up his first play time with his father.
You opened the door of your son’s room to see toy cars and trucks scattered about, intermixed with some little action figures.
Timmy and Theo were not disturbed by your entry. They were in their own world; Timmy was on his knees, pretending to block Theo as he tried to shoot a ball into his Little Tikes basketball hoop. It was so sweet to see them play and laugh together.
You hated to say anything at all, but little boys needed sleep. "Sorry bubs, but it's bedtime."
"Aw, do I have to go to bed?" Theo whined dropping his miniature basketball.
"Yes, you do." you said firmly to your son. You went over to his dresser to collect some pajamas out of a drawer. "Time for jammies."
"Okay." Theo grumbled, moping on his way to you.
"Don't pout, Theo, you need to do as your mother says." Timmy said with stern, but still light tone as to not hurt Theo's feelings.
Your heart fluttered at Timmy's first attempt at co-parenting with you.
"Can Daddy tuck me in?" he asked as you pulled his shirt over his head.
You looked over at Timmy, who nodded at you in turn. "Yes." you said, finishing getting Theo into his pajamas.
"Alright, little man, time to go to sleep." Timmy said as he helped Theo get into his twin bed, underneath his monster truck themed bedding.
Theo laid down and Timmy covered his tiny body with his blankets, and the boy said, "Can you make sure there are no monsters in the closet?"
Timmy smiled, happy to give his son some comfort, "Sure, buddy." He tussled the little boy's hair, then got up to look into the closet across the room. "No monsters in there. Just a regular ol' closet."
You smiled with tiny giggle as you watched the interaction.
Timmy then crouched down next to Theo's bed, "Goodnight, Theo. I was so glad to meet you today. I had fun playing too."
"Me too, Daddy. Can you come tomorrow too?" your son responded with a sleepy grin.
"I don't know about tomorrow, but I'll see you soon, I promise."
........
You knew what was to come as you walked out of your son's bedroom with his long-lost daddy behind you.
"Y/n, let's talk."

The first emotion that spiked through you when you heard that the second years were back from their mission was relief. None of them were dead; anything else, you could deal with.
You had rushed to the infirmary, ignoring Nobara’s snickers. She alone knew who you was sprinting to see — your feelings for a certainupperclassman were highly secret, of course, but somehow she had found out, and of course she had, because she was Kugisaki Nobara, and nothing could really be kept secret from her for very long.
She had been urging you to do something, to make a move, citing that it “wasn’t like he had a lot of girls interested in him, anyways,” but you had always been too shy. You weren’t sure that you could handle a rejection, and it was hard to tell whether he was interested in you or just polite.
But your fear did not stop you from skidding to a stop in front of Shoko, giving her a wide-eyed stare, patiently waiting for her to tell you what was wrong with your friends.
“Did you need something?” she said. Obviously, her cursed technique had nothing to do with reading minds, but you still scowled at her for not knowing what you were thinking.
“The second years. Are…are they alright?” you said. She frowned, and this was your first clue that there was something less than alright going on with the trio.
“Well, they’re not permanently hurt, no,” she said. You sighed in relief — this was more than you could’ve hoped for. The curse that they had been sent to fight was obviously a strong one, and more than that, it was wily, with a rumored arsenal of techniques far beyond what you could even comprehend.
“That’s good,” you said.
“It is. They’ll all make a full recovery; Maki and Panda were barely impacted, anyways,” she said. Your blood ran cold at the name she didn’t mention.
“And Inumaki?” you said. If something had happened to him…you weren’t sure what you’d do. Probably cry. A lot.
“He’s fine, just a bit shocked. See, the curse managed to take his cursed energy from him, so until that’s been replenished, he’s just a normal person,” she said.
“Huh?” you said. “What does that mean?”
“Why don’t you just ask him yourself?” she said, ushering you into the infirmary, “I know that’s why you’re really here.”
Maki and Panda were nowhere to be found, and Shoko groaned, muttering about irresponsible children and telling you she’d be back with her patients in tow once more. This left you alone in the room with Inumaki Toge — at once your biggest dream and greatest fear.
You did not speak for the first few moments, far too nervous to open your mouth. He was buried in a mountain of pillows and blankets, soft blond hair falling in his violet eyes as he flipped through the pages of a book. His zipped up collar was nowhere to be seen; he only wore a plain white t-shirt, leaving his snake-fang seals visible. You had always thought they were pretty, so then your nerves were overtaken by infatuation with the elegant markings. The end result was the same: when Inumaki looked up, it was to you awkwardly standing in the room and watching him read.
“Hello,” he said. This made you pause and think.
“Hi?” you said.
“How are you doing?” he said. Now you really were confused.
“Not that I’m complaining, but can’t you…not speak?” you said. He set his book on his nightstand and sat up with a heavy sigh.
“Normally, I can’t. But as of right now, I can. That’s the effect of that curse we fought. I have the most cursed energy out of the three of us second years, so it drained mine, which means I’m unable to use my technique until my energy’s built up again. Shoko estimates it’ll be about a week,” he said.
“Oh!” you said. So Inumaki had one week of talking normally before he would be back to his usual limited speech. You wondered what he would think to say.
You had met Inumaki on your first day at Jujutsu Tech. He had helped you find your dorm room and then, via text, warned you about Gojo’s antics. Your crush had been born the very same day. He was so beautiful and kind that it was almost a no-brainer, really; though he could only speak in rice ball components, you didn’t even care. You found solace in swooning at him from afar, and every conversation you had ever had with him since then was filed away in a special corner of your mind, played on repeat whenever you were bored.
Nobara thought you were crazy when she found out, asking you if you had an ingredients fetish and then teasing you for a solid day by moaning tuna in your ear whenever she saw you. She only stopped because you started crying and begged Fushiguro’s Divine Dogs to chase her away if she got too close. The dogs were friendly enough and obliged, though you had had to buy Fushiguro several bags of candy for his troubles.
You could hear her voice in your ear right now as you stared at Inumaki, though it was thankfully not her moaning ingredients but rather her insisting that you say something. It was so easy; now, at least, he could reject you properly, with words instead of helpless frustration and a long-winded text about how you were nice, really, but he just thought of you as an annoying friend who didn’t leave him alone, and anyways, why would he ever like you?
“Can I tell you something?” he said before you could ask to do the same. Privately, you were relieved at this, for it meant you could procrastinate your confession a little further.
“What’s up?” you said, a small, childish hope arising in you that maybe, just maybe, this was it. Maybe he’d confess first, and then things would be very simple indeed. You allowed yourself to feel excitement building at this prospect.
“I…oh, man, how do I do this?” he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, a flush rising over his pale cheeks. “Ah, shit, I’ve spent my whole life wishing I could speak and having so many things to say but not the words to say them, and now that I finally can talk, I just don’t even know what to say.”
“It’s alright. You can take your time, I don’t mind,” you said politely. And you didn’t mind — whatever he had to say, you would wait around for years if you needed to in order to hear it. He ran a hand through his hair.
“I’ll just come out with it, then!” he said, nodding determinedly before locking eyes with you, “I leave you.”
It suddenly felt like you were underwater, ears ringing. Your throat choked, and pathetic, childish tears blurred your vision. He was leaving. Inumaki, for whatever reason, was leaving. And not only was he leaving, he was leaving you in specific.
“R-really?” you said, forcing a smile, though you knew it was awfully unconvincing. “Did I do something wrong?”
“What?” He seemed embarrassed, now, averting his eyes, “No, why would you think that?”
“Well, you just said…” you trailed off helplessly.
“Oh. I thought you would be happy,” he said, his voice quiet, small, ashamed. He looked almost brokenhearted, though why he would be feeling hurt about this development, you could not be sure. He was the one making the choice to leave; you were the one fated to stay behind.
“Why would I be happy about that?” you said. He was dejected when he spoke next.
“Never mind. I don’t…I don’t know what I was thinking,” he said.
“I’ll still support you,” you said, steeling yourself to flash him a watery smile, “I hope we can still be friends.”
“Yes! Yes, please, please, I know I messed up by telling you this, but I don’t want us to stop being friends,” he said.
“I’m glad you told me, though. I’d rather not be left in the dark. Have you told anyone else yet?” you said.
“No, though I’m sure Panda suspects it,” he said before shifting uncomfortably to pull his blankets up and hide his face, “Can you, um, go? I want some time alone.”
“Right,” you said, “I’m glad you’re not hurt permanently.”
As you left, you thought you heard sniffles coming from the lump under the blanket, but if he really was crying, he gave you no other indication of it. You thought of lingering, of comforting him and asking him to comfort you, demanding he tell you the reason for his departure, but it was not your place. So, biting the inside of your cheek to hold your tears back, you marched towards Nobara’s dorm.
“He told you he’s leaving you?” she said, ten minutes later once you had explained to her the entire story. “How odd. And he hasn’t told anyone he’s transferring yet? Not even Gojo or Principal Yaga?”
“No,” you said, finding solace in her warm embrace, the scent of roses that wafted off of her skin, “I just don’t understand why he’s going.”
“It’s so strange. I mean, I really thought he liked you! Although, maybe he does. Think about it, you’re the first person he’s told, so clearly he trusts you a lot!” she said.
“You don’t have to lie to make me feel better,” you said, “Regardless as to his reasons, it remains that he’s leaving me. At least he said we can still be friends, though.”
“Wait!” she said, and there was a conniving smirk on her face that spelled trouble, “I have an idea. Let’s throw a surprise going-away-party for him! Even if you don’t confess, at least it’ll show you care about him. And maybe we’ll be able to figure out why he’s leaving and where he’s going, too.”
“We have to do it before the end of the week, then, that’s when Shoko estimates his cursed energy will be back to normal and he won’t be able to talk anymore,” you said.
“I doubt you’d be complaining about that, Miss Ingredients Fetish,” Nobara said.
“I don’t have a fetish for ingredients!” you said, wriggling out of her hug and glaring at her.
“Oh, really? So you won’t get all hot and bothered if I say ‘salmon,’ right?” she said.
“No!”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, Nobara, I’ve never been surer of anything in my life,” you said.
“Salmon,” she said, panting dramatically and clutching her chest. You threw a pillow at her, knocking her off of the bed in a fit of laughter.
“You suck,” you said.
“You swallow,” she shot back.
“Ugh! You’re hopeless!” you said, throwing your hands in the air.
“I’ll text the group chat to make plans for the party!” she said. You gave her the finger and stomped out of her room to go sit in your own and mope about the fact that Inumaki was leaving.
Really, this was probably a good thing. After all, with him gone, you didn’t have to worry about him accidentally finding out about your crush. And maybe you’d even be able to move on, though you had no idea who at this school would measure up to Inumaki.
Nobara’s plan was sound, though. A going away party would be perfect to wish him one final farewell — provided, of course, that you were able to keep it a secret from the boy. This was easier said than done, but you were determined. You would make Inumaki’s party an occasion to remember, but this meant you had to call in some help.
The first thing you did the next day was video call Okkotsu, who was currently in Africa, training with a sorcerer named Miguel. You had to track down Maki and beg her for his number; she had been very confused but had given it to you anyways.
This left you staring at your phone screen, praying he would pick up. Inumaki and Okkotsu were best friends, so it would be wrong to not tell the black-haired sorcerer about your plans. He also might have some insight as to where Inumaki was going and why he was leaving.
“Hello?” Thankfully, Okkotsu picked up, looking extraordinarily confused. There were dark circles under his eyes and a katana strapped to his back. Despite the fact that he looked battle ready, he was just sitting on a couch and shoving chips in his mouth. “Who is this?”
“Okkotsu, sir! This is Y/N, I’m one of the first years at Jujutsu Tech,” you said.
“Okay. Don’t call me sir, it’s weird and I’m only a year older than you. Is there a reason you’re calling me?” he said.
“Yes, there is. See, Inumaki —” you began before he cut you off.
“Ohhh, you’re that Y/N! Yeah, yeah, I completely approve,” he said.
“Did Nobara already tell you?” you said.
“No, Inumaki’s been telling me about this for months now! Who’s Nobara?” he said.
“Months? But we didn’t even start planning until yesterday,” you said.
“He’s been dreaming of this day since the beginning of the year, even video called me and everything! I don’t think I’ve heard him say ‘salmon’ as many times in a row ever before or since,” he said. Unbidden, you remembered Nobara’s actions from yesterday and shivered before shaking your head to clear such thoughts from your mind.
“Do you know why he…you know?” you said. If Inumaki really had been planning on leaving for so long, then certainly Okkotsu would know why. The boy hummed and nodded.
“Yeah, for sure! But it’s a little weird if I say it, you know? Against the bro code or whatever, and it’d feel a bit too much like I was trying to slide in, which I’m not! Just ask him, I’m sure he’ll be delighted to tell you. God, he must be so happy right now! I wish I could be there to see it,” he said.
“Well, that’s actually why I called you. I’m throwing a surprise party in honor of the occasion, and I was wondering if you’d be able to come, or at least video call in,” you said. Each word Okkotsu uttered was like a stab in the heart, further reinforcing the fact that Inumaki really, really, really didn’t like you. Why else did he make plans to leave the literal day he had met you? You only wished he would’ve gone sooner so that your feelings did not build up and compound from a simple admiration into something greater, something beautiful and untouchable yet twisted and cruel.
“Sounds like a great time! Just video call me, I’ll be sure to pick up. And I’ll try to send something along as a gift, too! Damn, I know it’s not my news to be excited for, but it feels as though my heart’s going to burst!” he said, popping a final chip into his mouth before hanging up. You stared at the phone’s black screen for a second, marvelling at how this short conversation had made you feel even worse about the status of your relationship with Inumaki.
Before, you had believed that the two of you were friends, at least. You both had gotten along well enough — you would train together and slip each other notes with book recommendations. He had told you his favorite restaurant and described exactly the meal you should order, and you had introduced him to your favorite television series. Yet with the latest revelations that your discussion with Okkotsu had brought about, it was clear that all of this was Inumaki doing the bare minimum to tolerate you until the day he could leave.
Maybe he was glad that he could speak, if only for a short time. It allowed him to tell you in no uncertain terms that he was going away. If only he had elaborated back then! If only he had said that he felt such a way about you from the very start instead of leading you on with candy-sweet platitudes and feigned affection.
With Okkotsu’s presence now confirmed (and a gift apparently on the way), you moved on to the next thing you had to do in order to prepare for the party: recruit the other second years.
You decided to start with Maki. Though she was seemingly brusque, she was also a caring girl, and you knew she’d be thrilled to help throw a farewell party for one of her closest friends, even if she had not known he was leaving until just now.
As expected, she was properly enraged upon hearing the news.
“He’s leaving? Leaving where, exactly? The only place he’ll be going is hell, because I’m about to punch him so hard that that’s where he’ll end up!” she said, balling her fists, a vein popping in her forehead.
“Woah, hey, Maki! I don’t know where he’s going, but please don’t confront him. I don’t think he wants people knowing, and I want the party to be a surprise. He might get suspicious if he realizes that you know,” you said.
“Stupid idiot, won’t even tell his own classmates that he’s going,” she muttered, “I’ll keep your secret. But I will be committing violence at the party.”
“Please don’t!” you said, distressed at the thought, “I want him to have a fun final memory of Jujutsu Tech.”
Her eyes softened when she looked at you, and she nodded begrudgingly. “Alright. Your secret, and your party, are safe with me. I won’t tell a soul! Although, you know…a surprise farewell party would be a great place to confess your feelings.”
“How — how do you know about my feelings?” you said.
“Firstly, you’re not exactly subtle, the others are just really oblivious. Secondly, Nobara mayyyy have let something slip,” she said.
“I’m going to kill her,” you said.
“Don’t,” she said.
“No, I’m seriously considering it,” you said.
“If you do, I’ll ruin Inumaki’s party,” she threatened.
“Fine!” you whined like a child, “I’m going to go talk to Panda.”
The large bear was asleep in the sun when you reached him. You nudged him with your foot in an attempt to get him to wake up; thankfully, he did, blinking his beetle-dark eyes open sleepily and sitting up when he saw you.
“Panda, I need your help,” you said seriously once you were sure that you had his undivided attention.
“What’s the matter?” he said.
“Inumaki’s leaving, so I’m throwing him a party,” you said. Panda furrowed his brow, clearly trying to process this development.
“He is?” he finally said. You nodded, a small frown tugging at the corners of your lips.
“Yeah, he literally told me as much! He was all like ‘I leave you,’ and it was kind of upsetting, actually,” you said.
“How interesting,” he said finally, and now there was mischief in his expression, “And you need my help with hosting a party?”
“I don’t know how much of a party it’ll be, exactly, I mean it’ll only be the first and second years, but yes, basically,” you said. He chuckled, rubbing his paws together menacingly.
“Excellent. Yes, I’d love to help! And it’s a surprise, right?” he said.
“Yes?” you said. He looked almost evil at this point, baring his teeth in his version of a smirk.
“Even better.”
With the second years thusly recruited and the first years taken care of by Nobara (you wasn’t sure what, exactly, she had over Fushiguro to convince him to join in on the festivities, but judging by the sour expression on his face when he RSVP'd to you, it had to be something), the guest list was complete. Panda assured you he’d get Inumaki to come without being obvious, and you were happy to entrust the task to him.
This left you to go shopping for party supplies, using Gojo’s credit card (Fushiguro had told you where it was hidden). You had convinced Nobara to stay behind, claiming that she needed to hold down the fort in your absence and get started on cleaning the room you’d use for the party. That was a lie, of course — you actually just didn’t want to take her shopping with you. If she came, you wouldn’t be back before midnight, and the party was supposed to be tonight.
“Where are you going?” Inumaki said. You almost screamed at the sound of his voice; you hadn’t expected him to just manifest out of nowhere, and especially not when you were trying to sneak out of the school in order to buy things for his surprise party.
“Shopping!” you said.
“Can I come? I feel like things were kinda left off weirdly last time we spoke, and I hoped we could try to fix them,” he said. You were unused to hearing him speak so many words at once, and you were mesmerised for a second before you mentally slapped yourself out of it.
“No! You cannot come. Sorry,” you said, feeling bad. You wanted nothing more than to talk with Inumaki, to talk and talk until your throat went dry and your words ran out, but if he saw what you were shopping for, then he’d catch on to the plan.
“Oh. Is it because I told you — ?”
“Absolutely not!” you yelped, cutting him off, not wanting him to get any ideas, “I’m shopping for personal things. Like tampons.”
“I don’t really mind that,” he said shyly, “I don’t think tampons are gross. I mean, they’re only plastic and cotton. I just really want to talk with you.”
“Sex toys!” you said.
“Um, what?” he said, taken aback. Your face was hot with embarrassment, but you needed him to understand that he was not allowed to come shopping with you. So you locked eyes with him and tried to repeat yourself.
“I am going shopping for, uh, you know…I mean, you heard me!” you said.
“Right!” he said, and he was so completely red you almost called him Clifford, “I’ll leave you to it, then! I guess we can talk later.”
You gave him a fake smile and a thumbs up, staying frozen in place until he had disappeared from sight. Then, with a wail, you called Nobara.
“I fucking told him I was shopping for sex toys!” you said, not even waiting for her to greet you like usual. There was a long silence on the other end of the line before someone cleared their throat.
“This is Fushiguro,” he said. You promptly hung up and cursed your luck. You should’ve sent Nobara to do the shopping. You really, reallyshould’ve sent Nobara.
That evening, as the sun set over the horizon and Panda distracted Inumaki, the rest of you decorated the room that Nobara and Yuji had cleared earlier in the day. Maki and Nobara were too busy whispering amongst each other to actually help, though, and you were hiding in the corner, too terrified of his reaction to even glance in Fushiguro’s direction. For his part, he did an excellent job of ignoring you, leaving him and Yuji to do the majority of the setting up.
When anxiety made it difficult to breathe, you began to fiddle with the projector, where Okkotsu’s face would be shown once he called in to the party. The green light was blinking, which meant that it was ready to go and was only waiting for you to connect your phone to it.
“It’s going to be fine,” Nobara soothed you, placing a hand on your shoulder, “I think he’ll be thankful you planned something like this at all.”
“And I still think you should confess your feelings,” Maki said, adding her unwanted opinion, “Seriously! If he rejects you then it doesn’t matter, because he’ll just be leaving soon anyways. I think you should consider it.”
“She’s right,” Nobara said, “Here, maybe this’ll motivate you.”
She leaned in until her lips were barely brushing against the shell of your ear, cool breath tickling against your neck.
“What are you doing?” you said, unamused. She pitched her voice lower before speaking.
“Bonito flakes.”
“You little — stop doing that! I do not have an ingredients fetish!” you shouted, hitting her shoulder repeatedly. She burst into raucous laughter, tears of mirth gathering along her lash line.
“I’m going to have to request you to please stop talking about your intimate life in front of me, please,” Fushiguro said uncomfortably, “I already know far more than I ever wanted to.”
“Fushiguro, it wasn’t like that, I was shopping for party supplies! I only said the other thing to throw Inumaki off the trail,” you said.
“Okay,” he said, obviously not believing you but allowing you to pretend, “Whatever you say.”
“Shh! Panda and Inumaki are on their way!” Yuji said, interrupting the conversation by hushing all of you obnoxiously, “Everyone, positions!”
You all ducked behind various pieces of furniture, and one of Fushiguro’s Divine Dogs hit the light switch, plunging the room into darkness before it melted into the shadows once more.
A second later, the door creaked open, revealing Inumaki and Panda’s silhouettes standing in the frame. From beside you, Nobara began to giggle, and you pinched her in an effort to get her to shut up. It worked, although it did have the unfortunate consequence of her pinching you back.
“What’s going on here?” Inumaki said, turning the lights on. As soon as he did, you all (with the exception of Fushiguro, of course) leapt out at him. He fell backwards in surprise, staring up at you through thick lashes.
“Surprise!” Yuji said.
“It’s not my birthday?” Inumaki said.
“Do you see a cake anywhere?” Nobara said, “This isn’t a birthday party, it’s a farewell party!”
“A farewell party? But who are we saying farewell to?” Inumaki said in confusion.
“You. Did you think we wouldn’t care about your departure? You idiot, we’re going to miss you so much!” Maki said, sniffing and wiping away a tear.
“Let’s all go around and share our favorite memories with Inumaki,” Yuji said. Inumaki seemed dumbfounded, so Nobara took the initiative to respond.
“That’s a great idea! I’ll go first — I really enjoyed the one time he let me paint his nails,” she said.
“I don’t have any good memories,” Fushiguro deadpanned, “But if I had to pick a tolerable one, it would be when I convinced him to use his Cursed Speech on Nanami.”
“I remember that!” Maki said, howling in laughter, “And I can’t pick a favorite memory. We just have too many good ones.”
“Same!” Yuji said, and he was bawling now for some reason, “You’re just so cool, Inumaki! I’m so sad that you’re going!”
“Y/N, what about you?” Maki said.
“Confess! Confess! Confess!” Nobara chanted, not even trying to be subtle about it anymore.
“Be quiet!” you said.
“Do it or I’ll do it for you!” she said. You looked around at the audience; they all seemed interested, even Fushiguro. Though you wanted to talk to Inumaki in a bit more of a private setting, Nobara and Maki were right in that this was the perfect time to say something. So, taking a deep breath, you faced the boy.
“Inumaki,” you said, “I know that I’ve been acting weird recently, ever since you told me you’ll be going, but that’s because I don’t want you to. See, the truth is that I love you. I think I have for a while now, and I’m going to miss you, and I don’t want you to go, so please don’t. Please stay.”
He blinked. “Huh? What do you mean? I never said I was going anywhere.”
“Yes you did!” you said, pointing at him accusingly, “I remember it! That day in the infirmary!”
“I didn’t say I was going anywhere, I said I leave you!” he said.
“That’s the same thing!” you said indignantly, “You’re getting upset about semantics when I just confessed that I love you, idiot! Doesn’t that even mean anything to you?”
“No? I’ve never heard of that word before!” he said.
“Love? You’ve never heard of love before?” you said. He shook his head.
“Nope,” he said.
“L-O-V-E. Love. That rings no bells?” you said. His face suddenly went snow-white.
“L-O-V-E is pronounced…love?” he said.
“How the hell else would it be pronounced?” you snapped, feeling far too bewildered and irritated to soften your words. How could he have treated your feelings so flippantly? How did he just not understand love?
Inumaki suddenly found the floor incredibly fascinating. “...leave.”
“What?” You said.
“What?” he said innocently.
“OH MY GOD!” Nobara squealed, catching on far quicker than you, “You both are idiots!” Finally, you began to understand, and then you were inclined to agree with her.
“So you’re not going anywhere?” you checked.
“No, I’m not,” he said.
“He hasn’t been able to speak for practically his entire life,” Panda said, shoulders shaking with laughter, “Can you blame him if he mispronounces a couple of words now and then? It’s not like anybody’s ever corrected him before.”
Mispronounced words. He had mispronounced one of the simplest words in the English language, and it had led to all of this.
“You’re not leaving,” you said again, drawing closer to him, “You’re not leaving me.”
“I won’t ever leave you if you don’t want me to,” he said, wrapping his arms around you in a warm hug.
“Don’t,” you said, “Please don’t.”
“I love you. That’s what I meant to say all along,” he said.
“I guess I threw this whole party for nothing, then,” you said, hiding your face in his shirt.
“Is this what you were shopping for earlier? Not…the other things?” he said.
“Yeah. It was just a surprise, so I didn’t want you coming along,” you said, feeling bashful at how entirely silly the entire affair had ended up being. He let out a warm, gentle laugh that caused his chest to vibrate against your cheek.
“It’ll be hard, you know. Once this week is over, I’ll be back to only speaking in rice ball ingredients,” he warned.
“That’s probably for the best. Less room for misinterpretation,” you said.
“Plus, she has an ingredients fetish!” Nobara chimed in. You withdrew from the safety of Inumaki’s shirt to scowl at her.
“Enough with the ingredients fetish!”
A knock at the door interrupted the tense showdown; Panda opened it to reveal a delivery man, who was holding a package and fidgeting, probably out of fear, considering he was face to face with a giant, sentient panda.
“I have a package from an Okkotsu Yuta, addressed here?” he said. You slapped your forehead.
“Shit, I forgot about him! Thank you,” you said, accepting the box and then quickly calling Okkotsu.
“Hey, guys!” he said cheerily. His phone must have been set up against the wall of a building or something, because it showed him busy using his katana to exorcise curses and not even breaking a sweat, “Sorry, this isn’t a great time, but congratulations on getting together! I hope you like your present — hey! Stay away from the iPhone!” The screen abruptly went dark as a curse swiped at Okkotsu’s cell phone, knocking it down while the sorcerer snarled.
“Open the present!” Yuji said excitedly.
Inside of the box were two bright pink t-shirts. Both of them had white lettering on them — one said I’m Okkotsu Yuta’s Best Friend Foreverand the other said I’m Okkotsu Yuta’s Girlfriend-in-Law.
You all stared at them, expressions varying from amusement to delight to horror. You didn’t even question how Okkotsu had known that you and Inumaki would confess to each other. Clearly, he already thought you both were together, so it was really just divine timing in that sense.
Somewhere in Africa, Okkotsu finished exorcising the curses and sheathed his katana, casting aside his jacket to reveal a bright pink shirt that said on it in white lettering, I’m Okkotsu Yuta.
“Maybe they’ll let me third wheel,” he mused to himself, “I mean, they had better, considering how hard these shirts were to find at the thrift store.”

You’re Not Helping
Summary: Being funny at the wrong time.
Pairing: Miguel O’Hara and Co. x Spidervariant!Reader
A/N: PLATONIC READER!! You’re pretty much the life of the party <3. This is gonna be stupidly goofy because im in that mood LMFAO. This is veeeeeery low effort because it was a simple idea
——————
There had always been a dangerous flaw that seems to be unchecked. A problematic talent that will always leave your fellow colleagues in harms way with the commotion you’d cause with the insufferable antics you presented on the table. The thing that always happens during any mission, especially when things are quiet and dull. It was your way of keeping the energy and spirits high. What am I trying to say?
You are funny as FUCK.
You always had your way of making quips, like any other spider-being could, but something about your comedy always left people with hurting abs from the constant barrage of funny jokes you’d gunned them down with. It was a relentless attack, friendly fire if you will, because it always ended up with someone laughing too loud and compromising their position. As self-sabotaging as that may be, you wouldn’t do what you did if you couldn’t handle what came next.
Often times, you’ve received heavy critiques from the society’s leader, Miguel O’Hara, for putting people in danger because of your lack of professionalism. Jessica Drew would back him up, sometimes. However, she had never been happier when you joined, your jokes being a highlight of her day. You remembered when Jess and you were supposed to be doing a stakeout, scoping out for an anomaly. You had the villain’s file on hand and started to make the most ab shredding roasts that had Jess shed a tear.
“Lookin’ like a whole bottle of what the fuck.” You’d say.
Jess cuts you a lot of slack because of your high skill in the spider-arts. She takes great pleasure in being paired with you on missions because she always knew it was gonna be a successful and absolutely hilarious one.
You loved working with Jess too, because you yourself are a fan of her sense of humor. You hoped you’d be able to work with her more and more because of the amazing chemistry you two had.
Another person you love to hang out with was Peter B. You and him had busted each other’s guts before when you ate lunch together. Spoke about silly stories that had your food run cold from how engaged you two were. Which was absolutely crazy since Peter chows down given the chance.
Today is different. You were on a mission with Miguel. Before you both went to the dimension where the anomaly was located, he made it abundantly clear he didn’t want the jokes and quips today.
“This is a serious matter and I don’t want you to twist it around to be some joke.” He lectured.
You gave him a thumbs up and complied. However, like the snake you are, fingers had been crossed.
The two of you were in the middle of searching for the anomaly, staking out to be sure that nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Miguel had told Lyla to scan the area, in which she did. She wouldn’t come back till it was done, which was odd for her. It never takes her long to do scans with how technically advanced she is.
So now, you and Miguel are practically playing hide and seek to dig up anything about where the anomaly could be. This dimension was a strange one, it was filled with tunnels… Very echoey… Not good. You two were spilt up to cover more ground, but no luck.
“Damn.” You whined, arms crossed as you kicked a rock. “Where the fffu-. Bro oughta be a D1 camouflager. Where’s Lyla?”
“Dunno’. It doesn’t take Lyla this long to make a scan.” He grumbled with slight annoyance. “Gotta run another test…”
The two of you continued to look endlessly for the villain, but as expected, yet again, no luck. This was frustrating Miguel, everything he planned didn’t fall into line like it was supposed to and he hated that.
It was then that the two of you decided to regroup. Reunited, you took five and leaned against the wall.
“I’m getting the suspicion that the signal is messing with Lyla’s functions… How though…” Miguel muttered to himself trying to figure the dilemma out.
Then, in the silence, you blew a raspberry. The noise bounced off the walls.
This earned you a peeved look from Miguel.
“What?” You asked innocently, holding back a grin.
Miguel somehow managed to roll his eyes despite his mask being up, and turned away from you.
Your comedic side began to surface… This mission is just too stale.
“… Hey.” You spoke up, grabbing his attention with him slightly turning his head to you. “… Knock, knock.”
“Don’t.”
“C’mon… Knock knock…” You pressed. Miguel sighed.
“…. Who’s there.”
“To.”
“… To who.“
“No,” You snickered, “to whom.”
Miguel had the most disappointed head shake known to man when you were trying not to laugh. You gain composure, only by the slightest.
“Okay that was wack- Uh- Oo Oo- What do you-”
“No no- No more.” He said in a hushed yet loud tone.
“What do you call a spider with 10 eyes?” You asked blatantly.
“What-” He said annoyed.
“A spi-i-i-i-i-i-der.”
Okay, that was good.
Miguel sighed heavily… He sounds like he’s smiling, but you didn’t wanna believe it. “Alright alright.”
“One more one more.” You said quickly as you thought up another one. “What… Do you call two Mexicans that play basketball?”
Oh BROTHER.
“… WhAt…” Miguel had to look away.
“Juan on Juan.”
Miguel had to take a deeeeep breath with that one.
“… Okay.” There was a hint of laughter. “You done?”
“How does the moon cut his hair? Eclipse it!” You couldn’t help but laugh. Miguel snickered slightly…
“I… Stop stop we-“ He takes another deep breath, not wanting to laugh. “We need to focus and figure out-“
“Aye aye- I asked how much a roof cost… He said it was on the house-”
“(Y/N). Shut UP.” Miguel was trying to be serious but you were weakening his ability to keep composure, so he demanded with a slight laugh. “We can’t- We gotta mission and you’re-”
“Why was Mrs. Clause unsatisfied with Santa Clause? Because he only comes once a year.”
Miguel nearly lost it, he quietly shouted. “YOU’RE NOT HELPING.”
“ONE MORE… PROMISE….”
“Fine go go go.”
“How do you get a Mexican uncle’s attention?”
Miguel has a feeling he knows where this is going… “How?”
“Tapatio on the shoulder.”
Got him.
He nearly yelled before he covered his mouth. He gave you a playful punch on the arm and it caused the both of you to laugh together.
Hearing him laugh was something you’ve never thought you needed. He had the most goofy laugh you heard, he even snorted, which caused an echo in the tunnels.
“I can’t take you no where.” Miguel said as he was trying to calm down.
It was then Lyla FINALLY comes back with a scan. However, she was holding her oversized phone. She had recorded the whole exchange. You and Miguel looked at her with shocked faces.
“Saving that for memories.” Lyla said as she did just that.
“Lyla? Where have you been? What took you so long?” Miguel said with a clear smile on his face because he hasn’t winded down yet.
“It didn’t take me long to do the scan, I was just wanting to see if they could get you to crack.”
“… LYLA-“
“You got a cute snort too, like a lil piglet-“
“LY-“
“Also the guy is headed this way.” Lyla explained, pointing down the tunnel, causing the both of you to get yourselves together so you can take the anomaly down.

HI !! I know I've said it a million times already but I love your art so much you're genuinely so talented 😭, I still feel so lucky you drew smth for me :)) and it gives me more inspiration for my art 🙏🙏 My obsession with adult Orel and Moral Orel came back once I came across you WOOHOOOHDJDJERRN And I was wondering, and I don't know if you already have but, if you would share more of your headcanons about him, his family, the immoral orel au, ANYTHING !!!1! I LOVE YOU AND YOUR HCS !!! I'm very invested... (y también pensé que nunca conocería a alguien que estuviera tan loco por él como yo, así que me siento mejor por eso) We've been blessed with everything you make and I get so happy every time you post :DDD and you're genuinely a very kind person so I hope you have a great rest of your day 🙏🙏❤❤ (and sorry for this long ass paragraph ask HRJHRHRBBR)
OREL HC????? Okay, first I'll say the hc I have (all silly, nothing serious?) and then I get cheesy...uh
Right, first let's start with uhhhh a silly headcanon I have is that when he was younger he wanted to be like Reverend Putty...for his great service to God and all that uh. Then when he grew up he'd want to study to be a doctor...it's a good profession for him (I know I explained this in a post a few months ago), he likes to help people, and he'd definitely give his patients loads of attention without being as negligent as the doctor in Moralton lmao. (I should do a whole post about this as I actually have a lot to say about his career path)
I'm a firm believer that at some point he continued to smoke weed...maybe in his teens?? He'd know it was wrong, but it helped him to zone out, so it was fun, plus he'd definitely hang out with people who smoked too, and Orel is...very easily influenced.
Definitely in school he'd be smart, but also REALLY DISTRACTED...and goofy, I'm pretty sure hardly any girls would be interested in him. (Maybe he also became a bit weird), he's bad at picking up hints and reading people's body language... so everyone would have to be REALLY direct if they wanted to talk to him about anything. (Aahh he'd probably have to move outta Moralton to study for a serious doctor career...then he'd have to adapt to new people...bad boys)
He'd probably only start officially dating Christina when they were both legal...and she had the freedom to leave her house whenever she wanted!!! Happy ending.
CHRISTINA IS SADISTIC-
...I didn't say anything, but if Orel is a masochist and Christina's an 'alternative' version of him then uh, I don't want to think about what would have happened in her chapter...
In his teens he'd really enjoy grunge and soft rock...uhgg I dunno, I just feel it. (Even though he's not that into music)
He's a goofy..nice...overprotective.....VERY overprotective dad, and that'd cause problems with his kids when they hit their teens...stupid (I love him) Orel..aahg, I mean, aahhh I also think he'd do loads of things that embarrass his kids!! But without realising lmao, he'd be like...trying to talk like them? That 'teen language' as he calls it haha.
IN HIS TEENS A LOT HAPPENED - UGH, not just between him and his parents...I mean also with his 'friends', even if he stopped being (just a bit) innocent, loads of people would definitely manipulate him into doing anything.
I don't think Clay and Bloberta ever divorced lmao, feel like they just stayed together and miserable...just like in that pic Orel has in his living room (Plus, I love that pic, it proves Orel doesn't hide his parents, he loves them despite everything and he'd definitely tell his kids to love them...wwgggh)
You know what I'm pretty sure about? Doughy and Orel got into a fight and came to blows in their teens, what caused it? Probably Doughy, in loads of episodes he looked like he was betraying his best mate for attention and affection from an adult...(but ugh, don't judge, it's written so well and we know why he did all that, even though that doesn't mean it was right, yeah, plus...there's no guarantee he changed after that, if we think about it Doughy had NO ONE, to teach him right from wrong), at some point he'd do a 'silly betrayal', to Orel...that'd make him SO ANGRY (cos it's not the first time) that mixed with a strong IMPULSE LMAO, he'd punch him, then he'd punch him back...and well, it'd all end with forgiveness and Doughy learning something.
And that's just a part of what I have cos I wrote a lot lmao...
#oh....thank...u....julian...#I'm ashamed to say I was very undone before I saw this haha so thank u.#yeah i love you<3#TJEBEBBRVRVBEBEBEBBEBEBEB#i'm sorry#adult orel puppington#moral orel art#adult orel#ask#my art#moral orel fanart#orel puppington#moral orel#aahhhhh muchas gracias realmente te quiero mucho#soy horrible con las palabras últimamente#pero no estoy pasando un buen momento asi que es lindo recibir esto#sabes?#si#moral orel headcanon#no tengo palabras ahora mismo#pero debes saber lo bien que me caes jahdhjsksj<3333#stupid doodle but huh#quiero dibujar el Inmoral orel au próximamente uggghh

growing sideways
pairing: kuroo tetsurou x fem! reader
summary: kuroo tetsurou is all grown up. you think you might have to learn to let him go. or: an exploration of love, and loving things.
note: sorry that it's been so long!! college has been so silly funny goofy (derogatory) but i'm on break now and pretending that i dno't have to go back in a week.
sort of spoilers for occupations (kuroo, kenma, yaku) post-timeskip! (but also doesn’t really follow canonical futures… sort of a mess, to be honest.) my attempt at reconciling what i’d hoped for him and what he becomes. title taken from a noah kahan song of the same name that has next to nothing to do with the actual fic.
cw: mention of throwing up (doesn’t actually happen, though)
___
When Kuroo Tetsurou gets scouted to a professional team in Russia, you’re the last person he tells. Technically, he doesn’t tell you at all – it’s Kenma who does, blinking up at you from behind a curtain of his hair.
“I thought he’d told you already,” he says, voice as apologetic as you’ve ever heard it, which is to say apathetic, as always, but with a dash of sympathy mixed in.
“No,” you say, because there’s nothing else left you can say. “He didn’t.”
Kenma doesn’t say anything, shifting his focus back to his game. You take the moment he offers you to exhale, quietly. To resituate yourself around this new hurt in your chest.
“Does everyone else know?” you ask. Kenma lifts one of his shoulders up, a half-shrug.
“Maybe not his mom,” he offers. This is poor consolation, and both of you know it – Kuroo hasn’t talked to his mother beyond stilted platitudes in years, not since she uprooted her life and his sister and half his chest and taken it with her, leaving a husband, a son, and a house with too many rooms.
“So he’s gonna take it, then,” you say. Kuroo is a lot of things – mercurial, bright, a pain in the ass when he puts his mind to it – but everyone knows that first and foremost, he’s a volleyball player. You’d realized it for yourself, back in your first year of university, when one of your friends had dragged you to a match and you’d spotted him, arms outstretched, fingers splayed and braced as if he thought he could hold a sun in his hands. When he’d landed, you’d caught sight of his grin, almost too large for his face.
Ah, you’d thought. So this is what it means to love something.
The next morning, at your eight-thirty introductory economics lecture, you’d shuffled in and put your head down on the desk, drifting closer and closer to sleep every second.
Then the person behind you had poked you, hard, and you’d let out a half-scream, jolting up in your seat in a way that made every single person in your lecture hall, including your professor, look at you.
The person behind you had started laughing – an ugly laugh, cackling like a hyena, the kind of laugh that made you want to join in, despite your burning embarrassment. You’d swiveled around to face him as the professor resumed his lecturing.
“What is wrong with you,” you’d hissed. It was the boy from yesterday– the middle blocker with the awful hair.
He’d raised his hands up in surrender, although there was still a crooked grin on his face. “Sorry, sorry,” he’d said. “Just was wondering if you had a pencil.”
“You know,” you’d said, fishing one from your bag. “There are easier ways to ask people for a pencil than giving them heart attacks.”
You’d passed the pencil to him, and he’d given you a jaunty little salute with it, one that made your lips curl up despite yourself. “I’ll keep it in mind,” he’d said, and you’d turned back around again, and that was that.
Except the next lecture, you’d arrived at your usual seat to find a disposable cup of coffee there, likely from the little cafe downstairs. You’d turned to the boy behind you, raising your eyebrows.
“As a thank you,” he’d shrugged, leaning back in his chair in a way you’d suspected was meant to be cool and casual. “And also so that you don’t keep falling asleep in lecture.”
“How do you know I’ve been falling asleep in lecture,” you’d said, a little grumpily, pulling the cup towards you and taking a sip nonetheless. It wasn’t your usual order, but it was drinkable, and if you were being honest, you’d need all the caffeine you could get.
He’d watched you take a sip of the drink, a pleased smile playing on his face. “I sit right behind you. I’ve seen you take a nap at your desk every single week.”
“I’ll have you know that that’s just the posture I learn best in,” you’d sniffed.
“What, drooling?”
“I do not drool,” you’d said, haughty. “And even if I did, how would you even know? You’re such a stalker.”
“Harsh,” he’d whistled, although the smile didn’t leave his face. “I’m just observant.”
You’d rolled your eyes at him, swiveling around to face the front of the room as the professor began his lecture. And if you’d managed – for the first time this entire semester – to make it all the way through without falling asleep, well, that was nobody’s business but your own.
The next week, another cup was waiting for you.
“You know,” you’d said, “I think you’ve repaid your debt from the pencil in full.”
“Oh, this isn’t about the pencil,” he’d replied. “I didn’t get the right order for you last week, did I? I wanted to try again this time.”
You’d blinked at him. “I don’t even know your name.”
“Kuroo,” he’d said. “Kuroo Tetsurou.”
“Well, Kuroo Tetsurou,” you’d said, “did you ever think about just asking me for my order?”
“What’s the fun in that?” he’d asked.
The drinks kept coming, every week, without fail, ranging from plain to ridiculously extravagant. He still hadn’t gotten your order, although at some point during the semester, he’d migrated from sitting behind you to sitting right next to you, passing you stupid notes and doodling all over your notebooks.
The last lecture’s drink was wrong, again, although you kept drinking it anyways. “You should come hang out with me and my friends sometime,” he’d said, sudden, and you’d nearly choked.
“What brought this on?”
“I dunno,” he’d said, uncharacteristically shy, looking away from you. “You know when you meet some people and it’s just like, they’re meant to be in my life, so you have to try really hard to not let them go?”
“So making a girl scream during lecture is your idea of an ideal introduction,” you’d said, and he’d rolled his eyes, leaning over to lightly push at your shoulder.
“You know what I mean.”
“I saw one of your volleyball matches,” you’d told him. Suddenly you’d wanted him to know. “At the beginning of the semester. Before we’d met.”
He seemed to understand what you were trying to say. “What’d you think?”
“You must really love it,” you’d said. “Playing volleyball.”
“I do.”
“Well, then, Kuroo-kun. I’ll come meet your friends, under one condition.” He’d raised his eyebrows at you, expectantly.
“I get to tell you my coffee order,” you’d said. “Some of these drinks are becoming downright disgusting.”
“You drink them anyway,” he’d replied. “But I suppose that’s a fair trade.”
You’d grinned at him, and he’d grinned back, and it’d all gone from there.
You’ve known since you started talking to him that Kuroo is a natural at getting people to orbit around him. He draws people near – crooked grin, warm eyes, quick wit – and then holds them there, at arm’s length, never quite letting them get any closer. You’d thought, perhaps, that you could be an exception to this. That he’d seen something in you that was enough for him to want to let you in. To pull you close. The thing is this: in your heart of hearts you are a romantic, and to you Kuroo has always been a little like the sun, like tilting your face towards the golden wash of afternoon and remembering, soft and gentle like falling into something, So this is what it is to love.
“I don’t know,” Kenma says, and you look at him looking at his game. He is, out of anyone, the most likely to understand how you feel: the air knocked out of you, leaving you gasping and breathless . But he has the reassurance of more than a decade of friendship behind him, built on neighboring houses and the squeak of shoes on a gymnasium floor. Some days you feel like what you have with Kuroo is fragile and insubstantial, playing-card houses on a precarious surface. Like if he left he’d take it all with him.
“Of course he’s going to take it,” you say past the lump in your throat. “He’d be an idiot not to.”
Kenma doesn’t say anything, but the little sound effects from his game pause. He blinks up at you through his bangs.
“We should throw him a party,” you say. “Or something. To celebrate.”
“If you think that’s a good idea,” he says, noncommittal.
There is an ache in your chest and you think that once you leave Kenma’s apartment you won’t be able to stop yourself from crying. “Of course it’s a good idea. You know how much Kuroo loves having everyone he loves in one place.”
“That’s exactly the thing,” Kenma murmurs, but you don’t hear him, already pulling out your phone to make a list.
“Invites, decorations, food… Oh! Kenma, do you think Kuroo would like it if we made him saba? Or went out to a restaurant that specializes?”
“Probably,” he says. The game resumes. “He’s always going on about doca-something acid.”
“Docosahexaenoic acid,” you correct absently, scrolling through a list of nearby restaurants. Kuroo’s talked about it enough – and despite your better judgment, you’ve listened to his rants enough times – for you to remember the name in full.
You miss the look that Kenma gives you, exasperatedly fond.
It turns out that Kuroo knows a lot of people. Even more than you’d thought. There are the guys that he plays with on the volleyball team, of course, but then there’s also his other business major friends and the other undergraduates who work in the same lab that he does in his free time (because of course he’d be the type of person to do that.) Then there’s the neighbors he’d had freshman year and still miraculously keeps in touch with, and the ones from sophomore year. Then Kenma casually mentions that Kuroo still frequently talks to everyone from his volleyball team his third year of high school, and you have to beg him to let you use his phone and ensure that everyone from there will be able to attend.
Then there’s the issue of getting enough food: you know from prior experience that volleyball players can eat, and there’s a part of you that worries that the budget you’ve scraped together from whatever your friends managed to donate won’t be enough for one of them, let alone the stampede you’re about to invite into your apartment. And besides, there’s decorations to think about, and maybe a present for Kuroo, and maybe it would be cute if you could get one of those places that rents out cats to send over a couple – do those places actually exist or was the whole thing just a stress-induced hallucination? Either way, the stress of budgeting is enough to make you understand why Kuroo had succumbed to his base capitalistic tendencies and become a business major. You’ll never be able to make fun of him for it again.
Kenma solves this problem readily enough, extending a credit card towards you with barely any hesitation when you mention it in passing.
“Stop stressing out,” he mutters. “It’ll be okay. Kuro’s not the kind who’d care about things like that.”
You blink at him. He determinedly avoids your eyes. “Kenma,” you say. “You know what I have to do, don’t you.”
He sighs, setting down his game. “If you must.”
You launch yourself at him in a bone-crushing hug, and although you hear him click his tongue at you, you can also feel the way his hands come up to rest on your back, soft and steady.
“He asked me if I’d seen you around recently,” Kenma mentions when you separate.
“What did you say?”
“Said you seemed busy. He said he hadn’t seen you and was worried he’d done something.”
There isn’t much to say back to that. You busy yourself by picking at one of the threads in your shirtsleeves.
Kenma says your name.
“I know,” you say. “I know. I just – I don’t know.”
Kuroo has many smiles, you know. There’s the one when he’s trying to get a rise out of someone, lazy and lean. There’s the one when he sees a cute animal or a small child or the old lady you always run into the market, the one that reminds him of his obaa-chan. There’s the one he gets when he sees you, sometimes, and doesn’t realize that you’re seeing him back, small and fond in a way that makes you a little afraid, sometimes. At the enormity of it. At how fragile it seems, some days. At what it could become, if given the chance.
And there’s the one he has when he’s playing volleyball, the one that makes his eyes go all squinty; the one that’s a little too large, just on this side of feral, because he’s so happy that he doesn’t remember to think about things like presentability and not scaring the people around him, both on his side and the other side of the net. The one he has when he hits a kill block, or a no-touch ace.
You don’t think you could stand to take that from him.
“I’ve just been busy. With the party planning, and all,” you finish, meekly. You know he knows you’re lying. Still, Kenma doesn’t push.
“If you say so,” he hums, turning back to his computer. “It seemed like he missed you, though.”
You hate yourself for the small spark of want that blooms in your chest.
Kuroo Tetsurou, in another life, could probably be yours. You’ve seen the way his ears turn red sometimes when you press a little too close, thighs close enough to be touching at one of the tables of your favorite izakaya. You know he knows your favorites the same way that he knows his own, know that in his head there’s a file of nothing but his knowledge about you, filled to bursting. You know that there are days, hours, moments where his touch lingers on your wrist, your cheek, the back of your arm – never long enough to presume, just long enough for you to notice.
In this life, you’ve seen the way he plays volleyball clearly enough to know that he loves it. That in terms of paths, this is probably the most natural one for him, as easy as breathing. That the world is so big and he deserves to go out and see it, that he’s growing up and some days you feel in your bones that he’s leaving you behind, in the same way that you’d left behind the yellow rubber rainboots you’d adored as a child, outgrown and overworn.
You busy yourself with party planning, so that at least everyone except Kuroo knows that you have a valid reason for ignoring him. Once the budgeting crisis is averted, things go surprisingly smoothly: money really does make the world go round, you think, in a rare moment of reflection between arguing with the caterer and double-checking that you have enough chairs in your apartment.
It’s good, to keep busy. Drowns out your heartbeat in your ears. He’s leaving, he’s leaving, he’s leaving. He’s leaving and you’re not gonna even ask him to stay.
The day of the party is bright and clear, because the universe loves Kuroo in the same way that you do. Bokuto – one of Kuroo’s teammates, and one of your favorites out of all of Kuroo’s teammates (although you’ve long maintained that it would be difficult for Bokuto not to be anyone’s favorite) – is tasked with distracting Kuroo for the day, then leading him to your apartment. This is a good plan because Bokuto is, himself, easily distractible, and Kuroo is, more often than not, perfectly willing to go along with Bokuto’s distractions. However, this is also a bad plan because Bokuto is, out of everyone you’ve invited, perhaps the second-most likely person to spoil the plans for the party. (The first being Lev Haiba, naturally.) To counterbalance that, you’ve asked Akaashi Keiji, one of your juniors, to go along – he has a natural talent for keeping Bokuto in check, more so than anyone you’ve ever met. But you’d feel bad, leaving Akaashi alone to deal with the two of them like that, so to ensure your plan had the greatest chance of success possible, you convince (read: bribed) Kenma to go along with the three of them. Odds are good that he won’t do much to curb Kuroo and Bokuto, but you’re willing to hope that his presence will keep Kuroo from doing something completely insane.
Back in your apartment, you’re adding the last finishing touches to the streamers hanging in the doorway. Yaku, next to you, squints at the streamers. “They’re a little crooked,” he says.
You bite back your immediate response, which is to tell him that if you had a stepladder tall enough that he could reach you’d gladly go get it for him so he could fix them himself. Instead, you ask, “How is it, over there, Yakkun?”
“In Russia?” he asks, and you nod. He pauses, considering. “It was rough, at first.”
“But you got through it,” you say, voice coming out a little more desperately than you’d like. “You like it there now.”
“Yeah,” he says. “It won’t ever be Japan, but I think I can make it home. And Kuroo’s always been able to land on his feet, wherever it goes. I don’t think you need to worry about him, even if he does decide to take the offer.”
“Of course he’s going to take the offer,” you say. “Why wouldn’t he –”
Your phone buzzes in your pocket. You take it out to read a text from Akaashi. Heading back, it says. Be there in three.
Hurriedly, you jam your phone back into your pocket. “Okay, everyone, places!” you call, watching with a critical eye as everyone tucks themselves away.
“Lev, that’s not gonna work. Hiding behind the lamp’s not gonna do much.”
“Idiot,” you hear someone – Yaku? – mutter, and you laugh a little despite yourself. Your phone buzzes again. In the elevator, you read, and hastily you dive underneath a table with one of Kuroo’s kouhai from high school – Fukunaga, you think – to hide yourself, just as you hear the sound of a key in a lock.
“I just don’t understand why she’d ask you to take care of her plants,” Kuroo says as he steps through the door, sounding a little bemused. “I mean, I love you, bro, but I still haven’t forgotten what happened that one time –”
Three, two, one, you mouth silently, holding your fingers out where everyone can see them, then –
“Surprise!” you call out, stepping out of your hiding place. The others all scramble to follow, adding their own voices to the chorus.
It is, to your delight, one of the few times you’ve seen Kuroo properly surprised, enough that he actually staggers back a step, eyes wide.
“What – how – when – what is this for?” he asks, directing his question to you, standing right in front of him.
“To say congratulations, Kuroo,” you reply. Suddenly your throat is a little dry. “On getting the offer.”
This time his eyes widen with realization – and maybe a little flash of guilt. He covers it quickly, though, and you’re left a little uncertain, like stepping on uneven ground.
“So you didn’t actually ask Bokuto to take care of your plants,” he says instead, and you laugh. The sound is a little brittle in your ears.
“Of course not,” you say. “I haven’t forgotten that one time when he –”
“Did I mention we have cake?” Bokuto swoops in. “I picked out the flavor myself and everything. You gotta come see it. The lady at the store was so nice, though I don’t think she understand exactly what I was asking her to put on it at first –”
With a wry eye roll to you, Kuroo lets himself be dragged away. The rest of the partygoers take it as their sign to start mingling, and you let yourself fade into the chatter, becoming nothing more than background noise. It fits uncomfortably, now, where before it might have been a little more natural. Kuroo has always been good at creating space intentionally, whether it be for you or anyone else: a sly smirk for your eyes only, a joke directed towards you and you alone. It’s one of the reasons why you think everyone feels like they can fall into his orbit more effortlessly.
Kenma appears by your side, unobtrusive as usual. “You should talk to him.”
“And say what?”
“Whatever you want.”
There is a want in your throat and it chokes you. I want you to stay. I know you should go. I’m terrified that I’ll never see you again, either way – if I made you stay and you resented it, if I let you leave and you loved it.
“I’m worried that he’s getting bored here,” you say instead. “Like it’s not challenging him enough. Like he wants more.”
There are things that you’re willing to admit you can be slightly paranoid about: like putting too much of your heart on the table, like finding someone who loves all of you but the worst parts. Like loving someone and watching them start to resent you, like wanting to learn how to love in the right way but really only learning how to suffocate. And you know it’s possible that in this could be a combination of all those things, that rationally Kuroo knows better than anyone what’s his to keep and what’s his to give away. But you’ve known him for so long now, and there’s a part of you that likes to think you know him better than almost anyone in the world. It’s that part of you that insists you can see Kuroo Tetsurou getting tired, a little bit. He walks off the court with his head tilted back, eyes closed against the glaring lights on the gymnasium, far above. When he looms over the net, you think of it as less a state of being and more of a conscious action: a weary sigh. Another day at work.
Kuroo Tetsurou, you think, is learning to want new things. To love new things. And that’s okay – that’s more than okay. There’s just a selfish part of you that wishes you could be there to see him through it.
Kenma hasn’t said anything, staring at you patiently. You think you might throw up.
“I have to go,” you say, limp, and spin on your heel to slip out the back door. Somewhere behind you, Bokuto’s cheers rise above the din, followed by Kuroo’s cackling laugh. It makes your chest ache a little, but at the very least it provides you with some cover.
Your little apartment building stands at an intersection between two streets. Turn right and you’ll get to the park with the stray cats, the ones who’ve started coming around more frequently now that Kuroo has started showing up (now that Kuroo has started bringing them treats, although he denies it every time you bring it up.) Turn left and walk far enough and there’s a little embankment that slopes down to a river. Sometimes in the mornings joggers will pass through the area, but in the dead of the night like it is now the grassy slope is deserted. You sink down onto it, ignoring the way the cold sinks into your skin.
Part of you wants to cry. Most of you is glad you aren’t: can’t, maybe, or won’t.
You tell yourself the grand lesson in this is that you have to be better at letting go. That there is a lot that your hands could hold – a lot that your hands could want to hold, given the time. Given the opportunity – but not all of it is meant to be held by you. That there is a whole world out there and tonight it feels like it’s slipping through your fingers.
Perhaps the grand lesson is just this: that loss exists. That wanting perseveres.
“Hey,” a voice says from behind you. You know without turning who it is, fingers tightening in the grass.
“Hey,” you say back.
“Can I sit?”
You wave a hand listlessly at the space beside you. “There’s space available.”
He settles in next to you, close enough that your thighs could brush if you were a little more careless, if you hadn’t been holding yourself strung tight and stiff.
“Why aren’t you in there?” you ask finally, when it becomes clear that he has no intention of saying anything, that he’s planning on waiting until you start first. “It’s your party.”
“Why aren’t you in there?” he counters. “You planned it.”
“It was a little loud,” you offer. “Was getting a little sleepy.”
“You weren’t there anymore,” he says. “Kenma said he saw you heading out.”
The words stick in the hollow of your throat, between your collarbones. You can feel them lodged there. “Kuroo,” you say, careful to not let your voice shake, “you can’t say things like that.”
There’s a hand on your knee, long fingers and broad palms spreading over your skin easily. His hand is warm. You direct your gaze down to it. His hand is big enough that it nearly covers your knee.
“Why not?”
“It’s not fair,” you say. “I know you’re not that stupid, Kuroo. You can’t go saying things like that when you’re about to leave.”
He says your name, sharp and soft.
“And of course I’m happy you’re going. I know you’re not happy – not as happy here as you could be. I know it’s an incredible opportunity. I know you deserve it, and you deserve every incredible thing that comes your way. Or at least – I want to be happy for you, Kuroo. I want to be able to give you that much, at least.”
He says your name again. It sounds fond enough that you gain the courage to look up at him. He’s looking right at you. The hand on your knee reaches for your jaw, instead, cradling it tenderly.
“I think I’m gonna stay,” he says. “And I’m sorry for not telling you about the offer earlier. I just – I didn’t want you to think I was leaving. I wasn’t even sure if I was, at first. But then I kept coming back to it – the fact that I didn’t want you to think I was leaving. Not at all, not even a possibility. It made me realize that – well. Russia would be incredible. But I think – I know – I would rather stay.”
The words take a moment to sort themselves out in your brain. Then:
“Kuroo, you can’t,” you choke out. “This is your dream.”
“It was,” he says. “For the longest time, it was. And I thought it was something I had to keep loving. Something that I had to pursue. Like I would be doing a disservice to the me I was when I was little, if I decided I didn’t want to follow the path I’ve wanted since I first started playing volleyball.”
You say nothing. There is a sun rising in your throat. You are afraid to let it go.
“But you know,” he says, thoughtful, “I think there is a difference between loving something and being in love with something.”
“Yeah?” you say. He reaches for your hand, flipping it over from where it rests in the grass so that your palm is facing upward. Slots his fingers through the gaps between your own.
“Yeah,” he says, squeezing once, twice, three times. “Like – I love volleyball, you know.”
“I know,” you say, because you do.
“But I’m in love with it here. With Japan. With the connections I’ve made, with the people who keep me here.”
“I’m glad,” you say, because you are, selfishly so.
“And,” he says, hesitant in a way that you’ve only ever seen once before, back when he was just the boy with the awful laugh and the ugly hair and who kept getting you coffee and getting it wrong, “I’m in love with you.”
And the sun, blooming over the horizon.

I just watched The Five Doctors to brush up on my Susan returning knowledge, just in case all the build up comes to anything, and it's quite goofy but extremely charming. I was aware ahead of time of Tom Baker's parts being taken from Shada, but it's still executed in quite a funny way. "Oh no, I'm being stolen by a triangle! This was definitely what was originally happening in this shot! And now I'm mysteriously trapped in the vortex all episode, don't worry about it!" The guy in a silver morph suit who is supposedly the deadliest killing machine ever was also a wonderfully silly highlight. It's the first time I've seen this version of the Master as well and he's good fun! He's no Roger Delgado, but Anthony Ainley has such an over the top camp energy to him with his flowing cape etc. that worked really nicely with the tone of the story.
Richard Hurndall makes a valiant effort as the First Doctor. He's not William Hartnell, obviously, and he's still a little brusque but I think he gets One's mannerisms and sense of humour better than David Bradley. Interestingly, this story also has him being misogynistic in a way that then gets reacted to/commented on (eg. telling Tegan to get them some refreshments/to stay in the TARDIS rather than going into the action), which is again not fully in character for One. However, it's nowhere near the level of character assassination in Twice Upon a Time.
One of the reasons I wanted to watch this now was because I'd seen people saying that the Doctor worked out the abandonment stuff with Susan here, but he absolutely doesn't. We don't even see her be collected by the floating triangle to get an idea of her life. She just appears and finds herself with her Grandfather, then we don't get to see their parting. Although there's no apparent animosity between them, and they fall straight back into their old dynamic, there's also nothing in the way of hashing out the whole "I shall come back" thing. If RTD is planning to make good on his many Susan hints, there's definitely still fertile ground there. You could even throw in a line acknowledging that "I saw you in the Death Zone on Gallifrey, but we didn't get to talk" or something similar.
Sidenote, I got extremely excited at Jamie's appearance. I was happy that Two got to hang out with the Brigadier, but I was a little sad it wasn't with Jamie because I thought I recalled Fraser Hines not being able to do this one. I may have been thinking of The Three Doctors, though, so it was such a joyous surprise when he appeared, even though I knew immediately that he and Zoe were illusions. If we do get Susan back properly (and I hope we do, with Carole Ann Ford specifically), can Jamie be next on the list for a main series return? I adored his appearance in Tales of the TARDIS, but I yearn for more!

If you are taking asks... Is there anyway you can do a reimagining of how things would have gone down if Venkman had turned out to be Oscars father?
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
I am! Thank you for this!
Timelines are obviously being ignored in this, so just keep that in mind 😅

He's Yours
There were several reasons Dana didn't want to see Peter again. She wasn't surprised when he pushed past Egon and Ray and stepped into her apartment. She knew how he would act, what he would say. That was one reason, and she was right. His smugness, his attempted groveling… Damn her for still loving him…
And then the other, more life-changing reason. The secret she’d been keeping for two years now. Part of her worried that he'd know as soon as Peter saw Oscar. That was probably silly, but between what had happened on the street with Oscar in his carriage and the threat of Peter finding out the truth… Dana was filled with trepidation. She thought maybe she could keep the two apart, but that was wishful thinking. The other part of her, the part that wasn’t worrying, wanted Peter to know. She wanted to tell Peter the truth so badly.
While Ray and Egon had been in Oscar’s room, Peter was alone with Oscar… Dana could hear Peter talking to him, but for the moment, she tried to help the others, wanting to give them all the information she could. But when she returned to the dining room, she froze upon seeing Peter holding Oscar. They might have been goofing off, but it made Dana choke up a bit. This is how it should be, father and son… Why didn’t I tell him sooner?
“Peter?” she murmured as she approached.
He glanced over his shoulder at her before turning to face her.
“He had some sort of clear liquid coming out of his mouth,” Peter said as if that explained why he'd been pretending Oscar had been biting his nose.
“Well, that happens,” Dana murmured, lightly rubbing Oscar's back.
Peter then moved to lean against the table, still playing with Oscar. He was a natural. I have to tell him…
“Well…” Dana began, the words fighting to get out. He’s yours, Peter. You’re finally getting to hold your son, and you don’t even know it. “What do you think?” she asked instead, managing to keep the trepidation out of her voice.
“Well, he’s ugly. I mean, he’s not Elephant Man, ugly, he’s not attractive,” Peter joked, a smile in his voice. “Was his father ugly?”
“Don’t listen,” Dana said to Oscar. If only he knew he was talking about himself…
“And he stinks,” Peter went on. “You’re ripe, senior!” Oscar giggled. Peter then glanced briefly at Dana. “Did his father stink? Yeah? Daddy was a smelly, huh? What’s your name?”
“His name is Oscar.”
“Oh, named after a hot dog! You poor man! You poor poor man!” Peter cried in exaggerated lamentation.
“But seriously, there’s nothing… there’s nothing unusual about him, is there?” Dana asked, half hoping he'd pick up on her trepidation and call it out.
Peter looked thoughtful. “Well, I don’t have a lot of experience with babies.” He then smiled at Oscar. “But you’re excited now because Mama’s here to take your stool sample! Right, Mama?” Peter said, handing Oscar off to Dana.
As their hands touched, Dana nearly gave in again. Oh, Peter, I've missed you so much…
With Peter helping Ray and Egon figure out what had happened to Oscar, Dana honestly felt better about all of it. Despite everything, and not just because she still loved him, she trusted Peter implicitly.
She should trust him enough to tell him the truth.
***
Maybe it had been a mistake going directly to Peter after her bathtub attacked her and Oscar, but Dana hadn't even thought. She just moved. And the one place she'd feel absolutely and totally safe was with Peter. That's just all there was to it.
Maybe he was just being his usual self, but she liked to think he was acting goofy as a way to distract her. Dana knew she was visibly shaken, and Peter seemed to be going out of his way to lighten the mood. She appreciated it. It made things feel a little more normal.
What wasn't normal was being back in his apartment. It felt like it had forever and yet no time at all. It was just as she remembered it, though messier. It was odd sitting on his bed again, too… The last night she'd been here was the night Oscar had been conceived…
That thought made her nervous. Dana was half worried Peter might be able to read her thoughts, that maybe his work with ESP finally paid off. But that was silly, she told herself. He'd probably know already.
But even so, she didn't want to share a bed with him. That was asking for trouble, no matter how much Dana missed getting to sleep in his arms.
“How about you on the sofa and me and the baby in the bed?” she said.
“It’s the way to go,” Peter said, scooting up to sit on the edge of the bed.
She hadn’t expected him to relent so easily. She also didn’t expect the smile he gave her. “It’s so late, I really gotta put him down…”
“May I?”
Dana blinked in surprise. “Yeah, if you want to.”
She should have known better, but Peter's actions still put a smile on her face. Peter leaned down closer to Oscar and pointed at him.
“You’re short, your belly button sticks out too far, and you’re a terrible burden on your poor mother.”
In all the time she’d known Peter, she’d never seen this kind of smile on his face when he interacted with Oscar. Even more surprising was when Peter reached up to lightly rub Oscar’s cheek with the side of his finger. It was such an affectionate gesture…
“Peter?” Dana murmured.
“Yeah?”
Peter looked up at her with that soft smile he used to give her back when things had still been good between them, the one that she convinced herself meant he loved her. She'd longed to see it again for so long…
She swallowed hard and looked down. “You're really good with him.”
“Ah, well, we're just a couple of big kids, aren't we, Oscar?”
“I'm serious, Peter. You'd make a great father.”
He looked genuinely shocked, blinking a few times as he processed the words. Dana smirked.
“Is Peter Venkman finally at a loss for words?” she teased.
He opened his mouth to respond, likely with some quip to defuse the seriousness, but then he closed his mouth, looking down at Oscar. Now, Dana was the one genuinely surprised.
“No one's ever said that to me before…” he admitted quietly.
“I have,” she said. “But I don't think you wanted to hear it before.”
It seemed he couldn't look at her, but she was used to that. When something serious needed to be said, Peter never wanted to look anyone in the eye. Gone was any smugness.
“I meant what I said the other day. You'd have been better off marrying me. I wouldn't have left you…”
Tears pricked Dana's eyes. “I know,” she whispered.
He finally managed to look up at her. They simply gazed at each other for a few moments, everything left unsaid weighing heavily between them.
“I guess I should let you get some sleep,” Peter finally said. “You two are probably exhausted after almost being eaten by a bathtub.”
Dana smiled. “Yeah, I'd like to get some rest.”
“Well, you know where I'll be,” he said, climbing off the bed and gathering up what he needed to sleep in. “You know, in case you get lonely.”
She nearly gave in, taking him up on his offer to sleep in the same bed again, but she wasn't ready for that. “Thanks. Goodnight, Peter.”
Peter gave her a genuine smile. “Night, Dana. And goodnight, Oscar!”
Oscar cooed quietly, smiling up at Peter. Dana waited until Peter closed the door before leaning closer to Oscar.
“Someday soon, he'll know who you really are. You deserve to have a father, and your father deserves to know about his son.” She kissed Oscar's forehead. “And your father deserves a second chance from me.”
***
Dana was thrilled that Peter had invited her out to dinner. More so than she thought she would be.
She had missed this, missed him. She couldn't help but kiss him. Peter gave her his signature smirk.
“You really did miss me, didn't you?” he teased.
Dana remained serious, a faint, smitten smile on her face. “Yes. Yes, I really did.”
To her surprise, his expression softened. “Don't tell anyone, but I missed you, too.”
Tell him. Tell him now. Dana took a deep breath. “Peter, there's something I need to—”
She broke off, interrupted by a sudden commotion from the other side of the restaurant. Maybe she shouldn't have been shocked to see Ray, Egon, and Winston show up, but the shock was more so at the state of their undress, coupled with the fact that they were covered in slime.
“Hold that thought,” Peter muttered, obviously annoyed at the interruption.
Dana sat back, half paying attention to what was being said until they mentioned the museum. And then Peter was gone, leaving Dana to go home alone. Home… how quickly his apartment became home.
But then Oscar had been taken, kidnapped. Aside from her frantic desire to get her son back, she desperately wished for Peter.
Peter, our baby needs you!
***
Once the dust had settled from the wildest — and scariest — New Year’s Dana had ever experienced, she stuck close to Peter because of course she did. He never even asked if she wanted to go home to her apartment as if it was some unspoken thing that she would return with him to his. Neither made a comment about it.
When Dana returned to the living room, Peter was holding Oscar, pacing the room and bouncing him a bit, talking quietly to him. Dana watched them for a moment. Now was the time; it had to be. This couldn't wait any longer.
Peter looked at her and smiled as she approached. “See? There's Mama!”
“Peter… I want to— I need to tell you something.”
“Okay, shoot. I'm all ears.”
Dana could only look at Oscar as she spoke and soothed herself by gently rubbing his arm. “He's yours.”
Peter didn't stop lightly bouncing Oscar in his arms. “He's my what?”
“No, Peter, he's yours. He's your son.”
Now, he stilled, and Dana glanced up at him, finding him staring at her. “My— Mine? He's my—” He looked down at Oscar. “Well, maybe you're not so ugly.”
He turned and wandered away, gazing down at Oscar. Dana watched, torn between feeling relieved and anxious. She hesitantly took a step forward.
“Peter?”
“Would you believe part of me hoped that was the case?” He was quiet for another moment before turning to face her. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Dana looked away, ashamed. “With how you were acting about marriage… I didn’t think you’d want kids. And besides, we were no longer seeing each other when I found out I was pregnant. Oh, Peter, I’m so sorry… I didn’t want it to be this way, and that’s why I’m telling you now.” She stepped up to him and put a hand on his arm. “If I could take it back, I would. I want you in Oscar’s life, and I want you in mine.”
Peter continued to stare for a moment before looking at Oscar. “You both deserve better than me.”
Dana lifted her hand to his cheek. “I don’t want anyone but you. If I’ve realized anything over these past two years, it’s how much, despite everything, I still love you. I love you so much, Peter.”
Again, there was no smugness on his face. In fact, he seemed to get pretty emotional. Emotional for Peter. “You mean that?”
She nodded, unable to hold back her tears anymore. “Yes, I mean that. If anything, I want you to be Oscar’s father because you are. You deserve to know your son.”
Peter took Oscar’s hand and kissed his cheek. “I’d like that, too…” He then smiled a bit and shook his head, looking at Dana. “Only you could ever make me want kids.”
“Yeah?” she murmured.
“I mean…” Peter wrapped his free arm around Dana’s waist and pulled her close. “I guess that’s what love does to a guy.”
She took a breath. “Love?”
Peter leaned in and softly kissed her lips. “I love you, Dana. And I promise I’ll do better this time. For both of you. I’ll admit, I kinda sucked at it last time, but I missed you too much. I… I want this to work.”
“So you’re not mad at me for keeping this from you.”
He shook his head, making a face. “I probably would have kept it from me, too.” He then smiled at Oscar. “But we’re all here now! And I’ve got a little baby boy!” Peter got a little more serious. “I’ve got a kid… Huh, that’s gonna take some getting used to… Oh, and I take back everything I said about your father. He’s the most handsomest, best-smelling guy around.” He cut his eyes up at Dana. “Most of the time. Okay, so he has his moments.”
“Peter?”
He looked at her.
“You can sleep in the bed tonight.”
Peter grinned and kissed her again. “I promise to behave.”
“And yet, somehow, I don’t believe you.”
They made their way toward the bedroom. “No, I promise! I’ve changed, Dana. I’m a new man! Literally. I’m a father now; I gotta start acting like it.”
“Oh, good! Then you can start changing his diapers.”
“Whoa, now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves!”
“Peter?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too, Dana.”

from ‘take me back (take me with you)’, chapter 5:
@mechalily iwnsjsbsb I actually never thought about that!
(long explanation ahead)
one thing about the cancer though, is that though I’ve never stated what type it is, it’s probably something like myeloma or lymphoma (iirc?? I base things in the series a lot on my own experiences even if it isn’t a self-insert haha).
I also can’t remember if I stated this when [name]’s father introduced the technique, but usually users of cell manipulation can’t really see (?) the cells just by touching that spot or anything— they really do have to study the biology behind it and visualise everything correctly for it to work (I think I did mention reader needing to use a microscope for their cursed technique in… chapter 2? chapter 3? oh dear, I’m so sorry— I can’t remember TvT), so it’s quite a tricky technique to use and comes with more drawbacks than advantages, really… (the only advantage is that this could be used to heal. but even still, a person with rct like shoko could heal as well or even better without needing that biology knowledge necessary for cell manipulation).
basically, what I’m getting at here is that the mother probably has a blood cancer, so her cancer cells are all around in her body. the father lacks the precision, probably, as well as the cursed energy to eradicate all her cancer cells, or to expedite any processes for T cells (if I remember correctly, that’s what they’re called) to get rid of her cancer cells. even if the father may have been an expert, age has certainly worn him down and now he’s probably,,, well. this isn’t stated, because it isn’t really important and I want people to decide how things are for themselves, but his daughter has nearly surpassed him at her young age.
I do admit that this was lazy writing on my part, though— I wasn’t able to think of that. but I’ve always thought of it like this: no matter what happens to the father or the mother, either of them can’t do anything. even for [name]— even if they can affect her through words, in the end she can still ignore them regardless. while they’re a source of motivation for her at times and a reason she does certain things, if either of them die or anything, all that the other can do is nothing at all. I hope that makes sense ;v;,,, I’m also really sorry if I sound defensive throughout this— I promise I’m not. I’m just trying to come up with a reasoning for the plot to still hold up while explaining some things behind it as well 😭. (that said, i’m not an expert on this or anything, so please feel free to correct me on what I’ve gotten wrong!! hehehe)
and about them being annoying hypocrites for parents,,, well,,, they do love her a lot, I’ll say that. sometimes our parents pull stuff like this even if they’re wrong— even if they love her, they’re bound to screw up. [name] IS their only child, and they are quite immature people, still.
but thank you so much for commenting, and thank you again for commenting so quickly! I’m actually quite happy that you brought this up, because I really like to explain the things behind this goofy, silly little series that I haven’t had the chance to state or explain in the story itself.
so, thank you so much!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ have a good day or night :) <333

Hey peg, got a non tri force heroes related ask (woah!, shocking!, unprecedented!) whats your opinion on my favorite lil guys; ravio, yuga, and hilda. since ALBW is also my second favorite zelda game. which weirdly enough is also the ONLY other zelda game I've played (to competition) weird how that works ya know? also, hows the youse? I'm pretty good rn, on my mid winter break so I'm feelin nice and practically useless.
Oooooogggghhhh albw makes me feel so many things it's one of my favorite zelda games even though I rarely talk about it (I also haven't played it in a hot minute so if I get details wrong here that's why and I'm not proofreading so hehe this might be a disaster)
(also spoiler warning if anyone hasn't played albw)
I LOVE Ravio. So much. He's goofy and silly and a has a little pet bird and has a rabbit hood and dances when he makes money but also he's more or less a refugee trying to save his doomed home in the only way he can think of. He's a buisness man and his prices are ridiculous but he has concern for Link as well, and is actually his counterpart and their dynamic and everything makes me crazy. Also he's a coward and I relate to that so much. I feel like a coward so often, and I know a lot of people feel inspired by Link's brand of courage but honestly Ravio's is just as important to me if not more. Cause yeah he's a coward. But he has enough courage to leave his home (go to another WORLD) to find somebody who isn't cowardly and who can help fix things and stop Hilda from making a huge mistake. And it pays off. Ravio is a hero in my eyes and I love him.
Yuga I don't have a huge opinion about, but he's an interesting villain. I do like how he merged himself with Ganon, that was a gutsy move I did NOT expect the first time. Plus his whole thing about being obsessed with beauty and paintings and things, it's creepy and stuff, but makes him stick out more in my mind then some other villains. Other then that I don't have a lot to say about him lol, but his whole thing with manipulating Hilda and stuff was interesting too. I'd love to see more of his and Ravio and Hilda's background/story. also his weapon is neat.
Hilda is great <3 Her turning out to be the bad guy was REALLY unexpected (like I maybe suspected her a bit but I was so busy with her encouragment and saving the world and everything I wrote it off), and her motivations were SO interesting. She's making horrible manipulative decisions, but she's trying to save her people, her home. It's the only option that's really left to her and she's desperate to do something to help them, but Ravio helps her see that destroying another world isn't the way. And like, she just seems so scared to me. She's trying to pull together a kingdom that's literally falling apart, Yuga is whispering poison in her ear, but she's so determined to save her people, at any cost. She's an awesome character, and her face at the ending after Link and Zelda restore Lorule's triforce just about makes me cry. That's the face of somebody who lost her hope and thought she deserved nothing, and got everything. She can't believe it. I love albw.
...Also you asked how I'm doing, the answer is not bad! Swimming in too many AUs at the moment, but it happens. Trying to get reasonable amounts of sleep and failing recently lol. I've just been really tired and it's very annoying. But aside from that, pretty good.
#holy crap this got long sorry aboutt hat#apparently i had a lot to say#answers from the floor#lovely guy made of bees#a link between worlds#ravio#princess hilda#yuga#legend of zelda#also I don't like what the fandom has generally done to Ravio but that's a rant for another day

Ok, someone leaked the Wicked trailer that people saw at Cinema Con and I saw it so I have a lot of thoughts right now about Glinda and Elphaba especially, I think this will be a lot of text so sorry. First of all, it looks really colorful and visually stunning, the musical numbers with the dancing seems really great and huge, the set and props fits really well with the Wicked universe in my opinion, Shiz and the rest of Oz looks beautiful even though It was said that the editing in the trailer was not finished.
Cynthia Erivo looks sooo gorgeous, everyone who played Elphaba looks outstanding with the green makeup for some reason, so I'm not surprised that she looks stunning lol, I like Elphaba's outfits as well. I believe that Cynthia will play a great Elphaba because she's just amazing, honestly, her acting and mannerisms gave me an impression of a calm Elphaba? We can't be sure since it's just a snippet, but just last week I was talking about Elphie for my followers on twitter (who know nothing about the musical btw I'm just there screaming into the void) and described her as "a girlfailure angry revolutionary nerd" so I hope we will also see this side of her.
Now Ariana Grande's Glinda, even though she appears a lot in the trailer I feel like I didn't see much of her acting, but she gave me the vibes of a compassionate Glinda with the way she talks with Elphaba. I didn't see much of her bubbliness which worries me (I know it's just a minute long snippet of a long as fuck movie but I will say whatever is in my mind, ok? I'm a overthinker) because I'm afraid of the movie sacrificing her silly goofy behaviour as an attempt to "give her more depth", depth which she already possess in the musical text. A lot of people misunderstand her character and see her as a merely caricature, that's why I feel like the understanding of Glinda's as a character depends a lot on the performance of the actor who interprets her, there's a need to balance her charming comical side with her thoughtful side, the presence of both is what makes her a compelling character in my opinion.
Now the Gelphie OMG?? In the trailer I could recognize where some parts came from, the "Why Miss Elphaba. Look at you. You're beautiful." moment looks so cute, Glinda seems so sweet to Elphaba in this moment 🥹. We see them at the Emerald City too, Glinda fixing Elphaba's clothes acting like her wife and everything, love it, I love the Emerald City segment in the musical, Glinda's is so proud of Elphaba no one talks about that?? and in the trailer she fix her collar like a proud wife lol. Glinda putting her hand on Elphaba's face in Dancing Through Life, what on the gay is happening?? There's a hug I didn't recognize, hope they added more Gelphie scenes ha. They looked so calm in the catfight (I think it was the catfight) though? I want to see them angry at each other for many reasons outside their beef about Fiyero!
So that's my thoughts, I see that a lot of people didn't want this movie to happen, but I maintain a positive mindset about it, if I like something I will like it if I dislike something I will dislike it, I will just have to wait and see how it will come out.

generation loss
i am just going to say everything that is on my mind right now. sorry if it doesn’t make sense.
warning: generation loss spoilers, when i am talking about the episodes, i am talking about the characters mostly, not about the creators who portrayed them.
i LOVE the show so much. i love the idea. i love the creators. i love the story. i love the sets. i love EVERYTHING about it.
i am so proud of ranboo and everyone who helped to make this show come to life and to be THAT good of an experience.
thoughts on ep. 1:
being thrown immedietly into the action was the best thing. you feel like you are really in there with ranboo and you are experiencing it alongside them. having the chance to vote was an amazing idea and i loved how it really looked like a game. ranboo was really the main character we deserved, loved and felt for. i gotta say i was a little bit worried about charlie being the demon. when i saw the trailer, i immediately started laughing, and i didn’t know if i would be able to see him as a scary character. good thing i didn’t have to. i think it was the best decision ever not to make him scary and terrifying, and rather make him silly and goofy. the cooking show then was amazing. the idea with the door and going to different dimensions was absolutely hilarious, i loved it. when ranboo went to the basement and found sneeg and frank, that was also a great idea and funny af. i loved sneegs performance - how he portrayed going absolutely bollocks after spending so much time down there and talking to frank even though he is a skeleton (not a real person ANYMORE). last but not least, i loved the fight scenes. they were amazing and i gotta say - i loved being able to control ranboo’s moves at least a little bit. the ending was immaculate and the cliffhanger made me want more immediately.
thoughts on ep. 2:
i didn’t watch ep. 2 live, because i was on a trip, but i watched it later and even though i wasn’t directly part of it (aka making any choices), i enjoyed it nonetheless. i loved how more creators were part of this one. every single one’s performance was immaculate. charlie being all silly and goofy while ranboo was taking all the stuff out of him, and then for a very brief moment screaming and crying because ranboo literally tore him open, and then casually coming back to silly, goofy mood. amazing. i loved niki’s performace especially because it was so chilling to see her crying this whole time but the second she had to speak to the camera, she was smiling and saying that she is kind and nice. austin’s straight trope was hilarious af. and sneeg’s acting skills - wow. how it was obvious that he “woke up” and saw what was really happening there, how it was obvious that he just excused himself to go to the toilet because he wanted to run away, and how it was so obvious (and terrifying) that he was wiped and put back in the game. it was especially scary, because they didn’t (and didn’t need to) tie him back up, because he wouldn’t run away anymore. he wouldn’t even think of it. and seeing how he still cared for frank was just hearwarming. then later, during the mouse trap game, it was so scary to see niki die. that was the first time i thought: omg, we CAN’T really control EVERYTHING. but i loved the acting, how ranboo and sneeg just carried on like nothing really happened and i realized that only after vinnie vinesauce came and started freaking out a little. the idea of charlie being soaked into the towel was also brilliant. then the wardrobe trope, just amazing. i loved the humour. i loved the show. then ethan having hope of getting out of there with that statue and then being killed just sent chills down my spine. then the play room - hilarious - the way they didn’t believe they could get out of there by pushing one button but that was actually it. i loved it. and then having a brief mcc hole in the wall moment. i was laughing (even though sneeg and austing were dying, sorry guys). and then the ending. ranboo waking up, realizing this is all a show, all a game, realizing we are watching and we are the once in control. their scared face. i love it. brilliant acting. also: rae, sykkuno’s and jerma’s acting was also on point. i loved how rae was just this little happy, confused, clumsy rat, it was so cute.
thoughts on ep. 3:
ranboo finally sees through. wahoo. but it has consequences. they realized what they had done. hetch trying to calm them down, to think rationally, to end this once and for all potentionally save all of their friends (ranboo would’ve left if they didn’t have hope that their friends could be saved). amazing. them being all scared and worried. and confused. very, very confused. and the amount of guilt they must’ve felt. the moment with the code and then setting off the alarm was so chilling because that was the one time ranboo made a choice for themselves, and it was wrong, and it didn’t work. but the question is: did they really make a choice, or was this all pre-planned by showfall media? and then later on, when they found all of the streamers. it was chilling - the way no one was responding. only after ranboo took charlie’s headphone’s off, he got out of the tranz and he helped him. i didn’t see charlie’s stream from before genloss ep. 3, but it was in the set, and that’s just so cool. because like how much is showfall actually in control of everything. it extends into real life, not only the show itself. that was a really cool detail, i think. charlie and ranboo then running away and trying to get out of there, but they can’t, because this is all one huge set. they could never get out because that’s how it’s all planned. charlie being murdered by that tv monster and then ranboo pressing the button was so intense, i was barely breathing. and the ending. ranboo thinking they got out, that they are free, that they are no longer in the game, in the show, but being tied up immediately after. it was so sad. us having a choice - let them live or let them die. i gotta say i pressed live, i questioned my choice later on, but in the end, i think i would still pick live because i had hope that maybe showfall media would let ranboo go. but i get everyone who chose the die button. it was so scary to see ranboo that hopeless. the ending got me. the box just sent chills down my spine. it was not the ending i wanted, but it was the ending ranboo deserved because maybe he would stay in the spiral forever and would never get out. but we don’t know that. lastly, knowing this is only one of many, many experiments is just so chilling. yes, i am excited for ranboo and their team to see what they come up with, but for the characters, this is gonna be just more torture and pain.
to sum this up: i loved it so much. i can’t wait for ranboo to keep doing this and to bring more generation loss to us.
