TIMELOOPS

WE ALL LOVE EM, RIGHT?

TIMELOOPS ARE COOL, TIMELOOPS ARE SICK

Wandersong timeloop au.

It’s just. Wandersong. But timeloop.

It’s a loop au where one person remembers everything each time a new loop starts.. however the only thing different is that instead of how you’d expect it to be kiwi since they’re the character you play as NO ITS MIRIAM ITS HER TURN

And each loop always ends the same

Kiwi dies, usually in the battle against Audrey and the dream king, but sometimes they die just a little earlier

No bard to start the wandersong, end of the world happens. That’s just how it is.

However, first loop, Miriam finds this strange looking pocket watch, and for some reason, is drawn to it

So she takes it, assuming it’s just a normal watch and that it’s no big deal

But it’s the one thing that keeps making everything reset once the world ends

It would’ve just ended normally, started a new universe and boom, that’s Eya’s goal

But no, Every time the world ends the watch turns back time to the night before the keeper got it, making it all seem like a bad dream, or in Miriam’s case when everything first started

And so the loop starts

The first few ones Miriam isn’t aware she’s in a loop, she just assumes that she had a nightmare of which she can’t remember, despite how familiar everything feels..

But then suddenly realizes what’s going on in the sixth or seventh one

Then she makes a little goal for herself

Make sure Kiwi lives

…which isn’t as easy as it sounds

And so she's forced to watch OVER and OVER again as kiwi dies in that fight or in some other way, silently praying to herself that she can do SOMETHING, ANYTHING to stop it this loop, only to fail and wake up again, remembering each time she gets the watch that “oh crap I'm still stuck in this loop" and making up plans in her mind to fix this, to make sure it doesn't happen

That they don’t die again

But they still do

And kiwi's none the wiser

She’d tried a few loops to tell kiwi they were trapped in a loop, but to no avail, so she just.. stopped trying, as much as it hurt.

She was pretty calm at first, a little traumatized from watching kiwi continually die over and over, but slowly she’d start getting irritated and anxious before each fight, stressing out over if they’d die again and how to get them out that situation in the least damaging way possible throughout the loops, trying new things and feeling even worse each time the damage was more than if she’d chosen another option, as every decision has different outcomes.

Because of this her personality changes a little throughout the loops.

First ten she’s basically just our Miriam, one we all know and love, grumpy, irritable, but has a good heart. After that though that’s when she starts getting really stressed, which causes more anger than usual, which causes a little anxiety..

…ok no a LOT of anxiety

She picked up tendencies that she didn’t have to try and keep herself calm when she isn’t feeling all that great, the main one being grabbing her arm and holding it tighter and tighter depending on her mood! She gets anxious before big fights, like I mentioned before! She’s also really sleep deprived and doesn’t really take the best care of herself because she’s mainly focusing on how to get both kiwi and her out the loop safely, so she doesn’t have time to do any self care stuff. Not to mention she absolutely DESPISES Audrey for being the one to (accidentally) kill them in more loops than normal.

She really wishes kiwi knew, maybe it wouldn’t be so hard to see them so joyful, like always, blissfully unaware that soon enough they might have a star stabbed through their back.

And you can already imagine Kiwi’s pretty concerned

Well, mostly!

They just think Miriam's always been anxious and angry before battles...They have no clue what’s been happening. Since they don’t have that watch there’s no way of remembering everything after a loops. They think she just hated Audrey from the get go, despite her kind of acting like she knew her, and that's just her anger at Audrey for playing a part in continuously murdering her friend, anxiety as she fears Audrey or something else might kill them EARLIER this loop and tries her hardest to make sure it DOES NOT HAPPEN.

she hasn't been able to break the loop yet, so she gets more and more of an angry, anxious mess each loop, basically going through grief and guilt for not being able to protect kiwi, but in further loops she’ll get a little better with this, more or less just annoyed. After all, seeing something a certain amount of times starts to not phase you as much as it did before.

AAAAAND Thats basically it! That’s the lore for ya! Here’s some stuff I did of the au, Which is called “Leitmotif”!!!

Little warning, one of them has a bit of blood- not a lot, and it isn’t detailed or anything, but still- that’s why it’s under the cut!

Context for the third someone on the wandersong discord server wanted me to give her some hot tea so I doodled that out, SEE I CAN BE NICE!!!
