Just that they shouldn’t be forced to. Anyway, remember Lucy?? Lucy who rode to battle in The Horse and His Boy?? Lucy who fought as an archer?? “But Susan didn’t—" Yeah. Because she didn’t want to. No one was forcing her not to fight. She had free will to fight or to not fight, and she chose not to because she didn’t want to, not because a man made her stay home.

“He punished Susan for growing up—" S i g h. This is the one I see the most often. “He did Susan dirty” “he made her suffer because she liked lipstick” “etc etc blah blah blah” First of all Narnia is a children’s book series. For CS Lewis to delve into why Susan forgot Narnia, talk about her dealing with the death of her entire family, discuss her grief, and write about her eventual return to Narnia (more on that in a second), it would’ve made for a pretty dark and heavy children’s book, and Lewis said that he didn’t think that was something he wanted to write. But he also encouraged people to finish Susan’s story themselves, and said she might eventually make her own way back to Narnia. Not only this, but Susan’s name means lily, and the waters around Aslan’s country are covered in lilies. Coincidence? I think not. I think it symbolizes she was going to go back. (Especially considering I think Lewis was very careful in choosing each of the Pevensie’s names, since they all relate to their character).

Also, Lewis did not condemn Susan simply for growing up and liking makeup and clothing and boys. If so why would he have written about Aravis and Shasta/Cor, or Caspian and Liliandil? Why would he have written about Susan and Lucy being beautiful and having many suitors? So no, he wasn’t condemning her for that, and in fact he wasn’t condemning her at all. It’s extremely probable that her family’s death would have brought Susan back to her senses. Because here’s the thing: she forgot. She threw herself so much into the world and approval and convinced herself that her life as a queen and her acquaintance with Aslan was all a silly game they played as children, that it wasn’t real. But, she very well could remember again, and I 1000% believe she did.

“All his female characters were weak and did nothing—" My friend. Lucy Pevensie was a female. She discovered Narnia. It was because of her. Her siblings would never have found it without her. Lucy is one of THE most important characters in the entire series. And her title? The Valiant. Lucy’s very title as queen denoted her bravery and fortitude without one even knowing her. As for Susan, she was not any weaker for being “The Gentle.” I would say gentleness is honestly one of the strongest traits a person can have, because it takes a lot to live and be gentle. Also remember Aravis? A major character in The Horse and His Boy and future wife of Shasta, Aravis literally nearly killed herself to escape an arranged marriage. She was not someone to be dictated to; she made her own choices and escaped rather than submitting. And in the end, she’s still fiery, just a little more humble and with less of a chip on her shoulder. Then there’s Polly, who is the more logical person in The Magician’s Nephew and tries to stop Digory from ringing the bell that wakes the White Witch. A boy causes her to awaken, not a girl. It was Digory’s fault she woke up, not Polly’s!!

Also, Peter and Edmund do not ignore their sisters because they’re girls. They listen to what they have to say and speak to them as equals. They don’t forbid them from fighting; Susan chooses not to, but Lucy goes straight into the heart of the battle with them! So don’t even say Lewis made his female characters weak. They were the backbone of much of the series and without them much of the plot would never have happened!!

So don’t you ever say to me that CS Lewis was misogynistic because it’s the furthest thing from the truth

You and Ziggy were great friends and neighbors. The both of you had sexual things before and snuck into each other's house because of a big tree between your houses.

While laying on your bed, you get a notification from messages.

Ziggster: Wanna get high?

You put your phone in your pocket and open your window, carefully getting onto the tree and climbing over to Ziggy's side of the lawn. Ziggy opened the window and helped you in.

"Is your mom home?" You asked as you got comfy on Ziggy's bed and watched him grab a tea bong, stuffing it full of weed.

"Nah, she's out shopping," Ziggy replied, grabbing a lighter and lighting the weed while inhaling. He handed the bong to you and you did the same, going back and fourth until you were both giggling and being stupid together.

You swayed around, "Dudeee, your room is so coollll," You slurred, giggling and laughing like a child.

Ziggy grinned, "You're really hot, Y/n," He said, not sure if he was serious or not with himself.

You burst out laughing, "Pffft, what?! You think I'm hot?" You asked, looking over to Ziggy, who nodded.

"Wanna fuck?" He asked, taking one last puff of the bong.

"Mmmmsure" You laughed.

Ziggy got on top of you and you both began heavily making out as you stripped each other off. "Fucking sexy~" Ziggy hissed as he kissed down your unclaimed neck. He stripped his boxers off and pumped his dick a few times before sliding it inside you.

No really though that was actually insanely good it felt like I was watching a movie. I had to reread it a couple times just to make sure I soaked in every detail.

The panic??? It captures the feeling so freaking well. It didn't feel too much, not triggering for me personally like most anxiety fics I read do but just enough that it made me relate so hard.

And Godd ik u meant for it to be any polycule and ship but I can already imagine a pearl and Joel romance drama, idky... Childhood friends via Grian if he's pearls brother maybe lol. Ughhh it feels like a movie with a bittersweet ending lol.

and Lizzzie you did her character so well. She would totally help Joel spray the mean girls. God it was so coollll, like the reveal of the fire extinguisher in his hands after saying a quick line about the white particles flying. Idk if it was just me but when I read that line for the first time I thought it was another aspect of her panic and then bam the reveal.

I need to know what happened to Joel and the lore with or without fic please, no pressure tho obv I'll just never sleep at night after this /j.

No but seriously ur writing is stellar. I will go reread it a hundred more times now.

Characters - Pearl & Joel Words - 524 Time - 15 mins Content - Kids AU | Part 1

First days are always nerve-wracking. For Pearl, the day seems to drag, but finally, it is lunch time. She walks out with her lunchbox, behind the other kids, hesitantly looking around for a spot to sit. She finds one, under the shade of a tree and away from everyone. The other kids play and laugh loudly, and she watches them, hands on the lid of her lunchbox, not really hungry despite her stomach growling. 

She misses her old school, more than anything, she misses her old friends. Watching everyone play together with big smiles makes her want to cry. But she has to be strong, mum said so, so she stays where she sits, bottom lip trembling. 

The other kids said she talked funny. Some girls said she was too tall. No one had wanted to play with her earlier, and no one talked to her despite the teacher sitting her with two other boys and a girl. During class, she spent it eavesdropping on their hushed conversations and giggles, trying her best to pay attention to the teacher once they shut her out. 

Pearl needs to be strong, though she does not feel like she can be. 

“Eugh. You’re creepy.”

Pearl blinks and looks up from the grass, seeing three girls standing before her, looking down at her with scowls on their faces. She opens her mouth to say something, but they speak faster. 

“Why are you watching us? That’s weird. You’re weird.”

Pearl shuts her mouth, drops her head as she tears prickle at the corners of her eyes. She wants to go home where it is safe, hide under the blankets until dad gets home and tells her stories about dragons in space. Mum will be laughing in the background, then nagging them because they need to wash up for dinner. Maybe later that night they will call her old friends and they can talk about what they would do in the summer when she visits. 

“Sorry…” Pearl whispers as she hiccups. 

“You should–” 

Pearl looks up when she hears nothing, eyes going wide as the other girls look in shock. They all stare at the girl laying on the ground, quickly pushing herself up and crying. Her hair is a mess now, with grass sticking to it. 

“You’re mean.” Everyone looks up and sees a boy standing behind them. He tilts his head, brown curls and brown eyes. He frowns too, and the other girls flinch back. “That’s not nice.”

The two girls help their friend to her feet, and despite being three to one, then run off with sharp shrieks. The boy simply watches them leave, and Pearl watches him. She thinks idly that he could be the prince of fairy tales, rescuing the princess from dragons and witches. 

But the boy walks over, slightly to the side and picks up a red ball. He holds it in his hands, looking at it then finally looks at Pearl, tilting his head curiously. He extends the ball innocently, “Want to play?”

Pearl struggles to find words, but she nods. When lunch is over, the teacher agrees to change her seat.

Soooo many things

I feel like from a story standpoint she is a very interesting character, developing from this sweet girl who is just trying to do good to this like chaos agent. She loves her sister but doesn’t trust her, everyone that loves her has disappointed her at some point (real) and she’s lost so many people so young (which is why she had better not die istg)

From a design standpoint her design is coollll. Specifically the Arcane version, the LoL version is okay but arcane is the best imo. Her cloud tattoos rock, her hair is awesome, her outfit is very different and distinctive, overall she’s just interesting looking (that sounds like I’m dissing her but I’m not! I like unique characters!)

From a personal standpoint if you give your character anxiety and ptsd I’m automatically gonna like them. If you make your character morally grey I am all over that. Overall my favorite characters are always the ones I rlly wanna protect. I just kinda want to give her love and a lot of therapy

Thank you for the ask! I talked a lot ik I just love her and I wanna clearly explain my side. I know she’s done some reprehensible things but I think that’s a great thing about arcane is they all suck and I love them all anyway
