just for the record, the Lilith myth undermines so much of Christian theology as to be on par with Dan Brown's myth of Jesus being married to Mary Magdalene. No Christian is obligated to 'respect' it or regard it as anything but cheap, no matter how Jewish or medieval it is.
#as various people in my notes have been implying#before anyone starts yes I know Dan Brown is not the author of that myth#and for the record orthodox Jews do not consider Lilith any kind of vital part of their religion either#she's an exegetical aid for them at BEST. and a pagan idol at worst.#Christianity#x#furthermore!#any human addendum or revision or insertion into Scripture is cheap by comparison#because redemptive history actually happened and the Chief Account of it is infallible#the Holy Grail is cheaper than the water of baptism#the Christmas Rose is cheaper than the fig tree#but neither of those actually twist the canon of Scripture to create a new theology

Like, I suspect, many people, I first watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail before I really knew the first thing about Arthurian Legend, and rewatching it after I do adds extra layers to a lot of the humor.
For instance, the sequence wherein Lancelot "rescues" Galahad from the castle full of women who at the very least have Designs On His Virtue, Galahad protesting said rescue all the while. Funny on its own merits, but absolutely hilarious when you're aware that, in many versions of the mythos, Lancelot is Galahad's father.

oh by the way I didn't even get a chance to talk to my dad about the Musicman 5-string because I made one(1) mention to my mom about it (bc I was about to go talk to him and wanted her opinion on the matter) and she took off, went and told him that I wanted him to save that bass for me, and like.... yeah maybe I didn't do it myself like I wanted to, but also he did get super excited about me wanting to learn to play and said he would keep the bass for me. 😅
