as much as i like gojo, honestly I’m fine with him staying dead….nobara however needs to be revealed to still be alive or I’m gonna be inside gege’s walls
#bc if she’s actually dead that’s so unfair#it’s such a disservice to her character cuz she didn’t even get a chance to truly shine#which pisses me off bc there’s so much potential so much could’ve been done#like I understand nanami’s death for narrative purposes but nobara’s?????#like no there was no reason for her time in the story to be cut so short#and gojo I feel like he’s got his chance to shine too so#and again yeah gege did write himself into a corner with such a mega powerful character like gojo and characters like him usually#die anyway so#I’m still genuinely mad abt nobara’s death cuz now even if she does come back#she’s been gone for so long and ig the manga is reaching the end so she’ll still have too little screen time#aaghhhhh ☹️☹️☹️☹️#my baby girl deserves so much better :(

exhausted wolf anon here 🐺🪚 i decided on giant whip spider for the creature my sona is, since they live in caves and it would make more sense to find him in the dungeon.
His mom is a half-foot named Danlok! She was obsessed with magic (haven't read the manga yet but she's into forbidden magic, forgot the name- I'm writing this down for the first time in this ask lol I'll do some research after) andddd got chased out of her half-foot village when they found out what she was doing!! Her husband (Ferfil ig? Fer is his first name 1000%, idk what the last name or family name is yet, just spit balling rn) helped her move into a secluded area, where they had their first kiddo! His full name is Sigvik Ferz, he grew up to be about 4 years old? Before contracting a fatal illness that they couldn't find a way to cure, despite his mother's magical prowess. He passed away after 7 months of his parents trying to stabilize him. So, she left his body exactly where it was, and worked tirelessly to keep his soul contained so she could bring him back to life. She became obsessed with this goal, to an unhealthy degree, submerging herself completely into her work and avoiding anything that would distract her. Her husband was (understandably) concerned, but tried to take care of her the best that he could while she was in this state, making sure she had food and water at least. One thing led to the next, and she managed to bring Sigvik back after she disappeared with his body for a full week. But something was very wrong visually- he was double the height, with a black dusty carapace on his entire body, 6 spiked arms, and two large whip-like appendages protruding from his back. The only recognizable part of him was his face, a slight difference being his eyes were a little bigger, and almost entirely taken up by his pupils, only a sliver of the scleras visible when he looked head on. But, he was back, just a little more reserved and light-sensitive than before. His father was a little off-put at first, but once he realized that this man was in fact his son, his parents both raised him like a normal half-foot child! (holy fuck I'm writing so much I apologize for this lmfao 😿😿)
He aged like normal, until he reached maturity- and seemed to stop completely. Neither of his parents noticed until around 5 years passed? and he had no significant changes in his appearance. Which was, maybe concerning?? His mom didn't know why it was happening. His dad tried to get an answer out of her but she couldn't figure it out even if she wanted to. Still, they took care of him, hoping
A few years after this, Sigvik came home after a little walk at night and his parents were both gone. He looked everywhere for them, in their little hide-out, but found nothing. Everything was in its place, exactly how it was before he left. So, he waited for them to return. Then waited a little more. Then waited even longer. He didn't know how long they would be gone, but they would always come back home before, so he didn't think this would be much different. After the first full day they hadn't returned, he decided he would go looking for them. He got lost in the woods outside of his home, found and promptly chased away by a group of weird tall people (hasnt met anyone other than his parents), getting even more lost. He found his way into a sea-side city at night, explored a boat, got trapped inside of a crate or something of that effect, anddd ended up on the island!! crawled into the dungeon and has been living there since :3
until maybe Laios' or Kabru's party stumbles on him in the deeper levels of the dungeon. He finds half-foots more familiar and approachable than the other races (he would be very scared of Laios when they first meet- large loud man + recluse bug boy with very sensitive ears = instant disaster) and also Kabru and Marcille would be the second scariest people he meets tbh, but Kabru could probably figure out a way to make himself seem non-threatening. I see Sigvik following Kabru's party around if they meet him before Laios' party- or he finds Chilchuck secluded from the rest of the folks and they talk while he's hidden from view since they both are half-foots and have good ears. Then he steps out and scares the fucking life out of Chil because what the fuck is that thing. But then he talks and realizes 'oh this guy is the half-foot I've been talking to for the past 20 minutes in my native tongue. huh.' and yeah ..
Fun facts about Sigvik Ferz!!
His favorite food is sweet-bread, his favorite color is ivory, and his favorite animal is a sheep...
Chilchuck reminds him of his dad so he sticks close to him if he joins Laios' party!
he would be a fucking force to reckon with if he actually tried fighting, but (un)fortunately he has no interest in doing that at all.
Anyway lmk what u think or what I should add to him bc idk what else I could expand on .... What would Venery think of him omg!!!!!
OKAY LIVE!! one. i am jealous of how good you are at naming characters I am. In awe. and that creature is so damn cool????
okay two. DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR TYPING A LOT I LOVE THE BACKSTORY. It's really good! Did his parents get captured for his mom's involvement in dark magic?
I think Laios's party is definitely the best bet for him. In my personal hc I think Kabru finds it difficult to associate with beastmen (like. at least early in the story). Bc although he treats Kuroo POLITELY. He still says not to trust him and stuff (as time goes on he gets better tho as shown in the kobold extra he kinda confronts his own biases a lil)
BUT YEAH. IN THE DUNGEON. he is safest w Laios's group. And I can see chilchuck actually vouching for him, but in Chil's eyes, Sigvik is a victim of black magic and he. may kinda rub that in Marcille's face a bit. Chil would probably want to invite him in the party bc he's like "well we're trying to find a cure for izutsumi anyways" (Personally I think Chil would want to give him money to return to the surface but then hes like wait. this guy cant live on the surface he'll be killed, captured or worse). He sticks up for other half foots lol. BUT YEAH.
VENERY. MAN. ugh. the hyena genes really fuck w him (being a dungeon rabbit mix makes him a tad more docile but. not really. urghie)
He would definitely push Sigvik around. He is probably the most accepting besides Laios since Ven is just. cool like tat. but He's kinda like "this guy CANNOT be this much of a pushover" and then is like. shocked when he is. He'll bully Sigvik and pick on him but like. Does NOT let anything bad happen to him. and he also gets upset on Sigvik's behalf if anyone insults or picks on him (It's Ven's privilege to do that!! not a right!!)
After that Venery is giving him C+C lessons...combat and confidence. Bc he's nervous if Sig doesn't start learning to stick up for himself and fight back then no one will.
#venery picks on everyone tho kinda#besides izutsumi because she fights back. lol. and does not have a sense of humor#exhausted wolf anon#suck my ask

I’m interested in what you think of her interview. I’m disappointed about him not trying to send a message about society but I feel sorry for how difficult the last act must’ve been.
About this post
Ended up being a bit long, so I put my comments under a read more ahshs
I'm also disappointed!! It felt like a cop-out to say he's not trying to deliver any messages, possibly because the social themes he did show in the story didn't work out how he wanted it to. Or maybe he thought the fantasy-esque problems he created were getting a little too realistic and decided to cut it back.
Horikoshi also could've meant that he didn't intend to deliver a message at first, but delivering a message -to the society of MHA- is what ended up happening (not for RL though, ig). But that is an issue in itself, since so far Hori hasn't left any impactful messages in the MHA world at all (at least no messages from the villains, who imo tried to voice many important issues in current hero society).
I don't think Hori's statement absolves him of anything either way. Horikoshi put themes in his story that he had to deliver on, and he did it whether it was done well or not (depends on the reader's opinion tbh). With 2 chaps left we're just gonna have to wait to see how he wants to handle the MHA-verse and whatever message is left in it and we have to remember its totally unrelated to RL too dhajajk
.
Ngl, I felt kind of hollow when Horikoshi said he wanted to bring his readers to tears;; It made me remember Tomura, and I did not cry or get emotional when he 'died' in the series. I was mostly confused about what happened bc it happened so fast and out-of-nowhere. I still feel like that, which sucks.
Ofc there were many moments in the series that *did* leave me emotional, like Twice's death, but that moment w/Tomura currently stands out the most to me and that's what I thought about when I first read the interview snippets.
If Tomura really did "die," then his death should've been handled better. Same w/Toga if she's gone. Dabi and Spinner did rip me apart so far though
.
Also yeah I agree about how Act 3 must've been rough for Horikoshi. I'm glad he's almost done with the series. I complain a lot, but it's obvious he was tired during many parts of the manga and needed a break. One example is when there were a bunch of blank spaces during the AFO and Yoichi backstory. or literally him just killing off 3 major villains all in 1 single chapter.
Working 36 hours straight sounds like hell, and emotionally draining. It's gonna be sad when the series ends, but at this point people would want the series to end just so Horikoshi can finally get the rest that he seriously deseves. Also Hori's editors man,, i don't know if I can trust some of the ones he talks about if im honest. Not all of them sound like great ppl
.
Horikoshi: The person who reaches out to you and pats your shoulder and tells you it’ll be okay becomes the person who saves your life. So I think My Hero Academia might end somewhere like that.
This part reminded me of AM patting deku and bkg on the back,,, which did not make me happy,,, Idk if this was also a reference to Tomura (w/izuku),,, which also made me more unhappy sjfhdsjfds 💀
And also, by this logic, didn't AFO save Tenko by "patting him on the shoulder and telling him everything will be ok"? I'm serious, isn't AFO the first person who did this 'act of kindness' in the series 😭 AFO also pat ShigAFO's shoulder a lot and told him it would all work out while they were in the cave too 💀💀💀💀 i am just so done here man

Cupcakes with tea candles
In which Lucas celebrates Yuugo's birthdays in the windmill, many kilometers away
!! TPN MANGA SPOILERS !!
[one-shot under cut]
--
"Mister Lucas, why do you have a candle placed next to one of the cupcakes we baked?" A young Oliver asked, looking up from where he was sitting with Zack and Paula eating cupcakes they helped some of the older children make.
Lucas looked back at them, as all the kids were now staring at him with questioning eyes. Oliver had been the first person to ever ask him that amongst the new arrivals and no one really knew the full reason besides the lady who had originally saved him many years ago. One of the eldest kids went over to hush Oliver but Lucas waved him away.
"It's fine Raphael. I might as well tell them now that they're finally calm and quiet for once." He said with a chuckle.
Raphael nodded before ushering the other kids in the windmill outside so they could enjoy their baked goods in the warm sunlight, giving Lucas privacy with the curious eleven-year-olds. As the door closed, Lucas turned to face the kids and relaxed somewhat.
"Back when I was about your age, I also had friends, just like you three right now." Lucas started, Oliver, Zack, and Paula all listening attentively.
"Well one day, I lost my friends. Though they are not with me now, I celebrate their birthday to remember them. Does that make sense?"
Oliver and Zack nodded but Paula still had a question.
"What do you mean by their birthday? You mentioned having friends, yet you used the singular form of the word birthday...? And you also do this in the springtime, what is that about?" She questioned.
Lucas hadn't even realized that. Oh god, how smart are these new plantation kids- they must've changed the curriculum-
"Oh, well, I was referencing only one person for this specific day... Today is their birthday and since they were such a good friend, I like to celebrate their birthday every year~ And the springtime reminds me of the time where I lost my friends, so I do this to remember them" Lucas responded, watching Paula nod in understanding yet still look at him with a sense of suspicion.
"That's really cool Mister Lucas! I hope that one day I'll be able to celebrate Oliver and Paula's birthdays at your age except hopefully with them by my side!" Zack exclaimed, earning a smile from all three in the room.
-
Later that night when all the kids were settled down and asleep, Lucas crept back to the main area where he had placed the cupcake and candle.
Taking out a box of matches from one of his pockets, Lucas struck the match against the igniter paper, creating a fire and causing the areas around the match light to glow with a mellow yellow color.
He brought the match over to the candle and lit it, before dropping the match in a nearby ashtray. He wasn't even sure why the windmill would have one but he was grateful for it nonetheless. Taking a seat in one of the higher chairs and faced the cupcake and candle.
"Yuugo, Happy 22nd birthday. I know I've said this multiple times in the past few years but I really hope you're alive and well. You know, we'd be in college right now according to all the books we read in the house. I wonder how that would've gone. Maybe if we lived normally in the human world, we'd still be with Dina and all the others.
Perhaps more kids have tried to escape and you're with them now in the bunker, helping them learn to survive and teaching them how not to make all the stupid mistakes we made at their age. As for me, I have plenty of children I'm teaching. Some of them even remind me of us at times. Three of the youngest remind me of how hopeful me, you and Dina were back then.
Eh, enough about me. We're getting old now. If you are alive, we're making history as two cattle kids surviving to adulthood. Maybe we'll get to reunite again someday. Hopefully, we will. I miss you so much. I hope you are staying safe."
Lucas doesn't even know why he still does this each year.
He knows the chances of Yuugo still being alive were slim. It was entirely possible he was eaten in the forest while escaping or he may have succumbed to the injuries he gained during the battle.
Perhaps he couldn't handle the survivor's guilt. He may have gone that route and the possibility of that terrified Lucas. He's seen it first hand too many times, some of the children even as young as 12. It was horrible, yet a completely valid factor.
It was stupid to partake in this annual tradition, but if anything had gotten Lucas through these 6 years, it was hope. So he kept doing this, no matter how impossible it gets as the year goes by
Lucas began to hum one of the birthday songs they would always sing at the bunker, and blew out the candle, leaving him sitting in the darkness. Staring at the cupcake and candle in the darkness, he almost laughs at the sad sight.
No matter, it was already getting late. He slid out of the chair and put away the candle and plate. There was a tiny door near the kitchen, just small enough to possibly fit a milk bottle. Lucas decides to just put the cupcake outside that door, to let it get eaten naturally... hopefully unlike what could've happened to Yuugo.
Closing that little door, Lucas put away everything, including the still smoking candle. He crept out of the room, unaware of the three small children who were watching him in hiding.
--- [huge timeskip to the human world, Oliver and Zack are 22, Paula is 21]
Today they had two cupcakes with two candles resting in front of one combined gravestone, the graves under them empty. Oliver, Zack, and Paula had a gravestone made for both Yuugo and Lucas once they were situated in the human world and they would visit it occasionally especially with how close it was to their apartments.
Over time they visited less frequently because they had all had moved to live near Emma half of the time and here the other half of the time but they had always made it a priority to be able to visit the gravestone at this time of the year.
Everyone else had already come to pay respects earlier, some of the Goldy Pond and Bunker kids staying behind for a bit before eventually leaving Oliver, Zack, and Paula alone to have their moment.
Ray and Pepe had baked the cupcakes this year and gave them to Paula before leaving with the Goldy Pond kids. Gillian had taken up the hobby of candlemaking with Anna so those two made the candles they were using today. It was a change to their normal tradition but they found that this made it more meaningful in a way.
It was all set up and Oliver, Zack, and Paula were just kinda standing there awkwardly. Zack started speaking, breaking the silence that had fallen among them.
"Well, this isn't really a birthday celebration huh-" he said with a halfhearted chuckle. "Maybe that's ok though. At least we're doing something, just like you would do every year around the time the Goldy Pond battle happened for you and your friends Lucas."
Oliver was the next to speak, all of his formal speeches used up at the earlier visiting.
"Yeah. We miss you Lucas. You too Yuugo, just.... not as much." He joked, already imagining the face Yuugo would've made at him had he still been alive.
"But seriously, I hope whatever awaits you after death has been nice for both of you and that maybe you've reunited with everyone you've lost in your lives. I don't really know how death works but hopefully, you're happy and together."
Paula went next, sitting on the ground near the gravestone. Oliver and Zack followed suit.
"Lucas, we're just about as old as you were during our first year at Goldy Pond when we saw you do your little cupcake ritual for Yuugo," Paula started, the three of them beginning to remember that day.
"However, it was a birthday, not a death day like we have to do now. I remember Zack saying how he wished to live as long as you and celebrate our birthdays together. That's been happening and this year we finally reached that age, thanks to the sacrifices made by you and Mister Yuugo."
"Everyone has grown up well. We all miss you guys." Zack said, the three of them falling into silence just like before.
Oliver was the first to lean into the candles, with Zack and Paula following suit and blowing the candles together.
