How do you feel about the Everluxes?

Well, I'm actually someone who generally dislikes Ancients. I usually find that they're kind of a "waste" of an otherwise interesting breed concept, and the fact they can't wear apparel means I find them difficult to work with even when the colors are all aligned. They're usually just "discount moderns," to me.

So Everluxes are everything I want, actually!

They're something that could never exist as a modern breed because they break the 4-legs 2-wings mold, they're SUPER unique in terms of their grublike proportions and big chunky upper legs, and they released with a ton of amazing line-breaking genes that are fun to play with. This is exactly what I feel like Ancients have been missing since their release!

I actually strongly disagree that these guys are "unfitting" in the Light Flight-- I think everyone who's saying that just doesn't like that Light has a fat dragon. I'm losing patience with the way they'll say, "It's not because they're fat, it's because they're inelegant, ungraceful, gross, tubular, long, round, etc" and just expect people to not realize those are being used as alternate words for "fat." The only person they're fooling is themselves.

They have a lot in common with the other breeds, actually. The wings resemble the Imperial's. The rhino-like horn reminds me of the pearlcatchers. They have the same prehensile "feeler" whiskers. Even the way that they're really long makes me think of a sort of "beta" imperial.

I have a headcanon that the Lightweaver made Everluxes and was suuuuper proud of them, her little "bookwyrms..." and then her bully of a sister, Shadowbinder, got REALLY mean about them. Took jabs at every chance, and ultimately made Veilspuns as "LOOK, IT'S YOURS BUT BETTER LOL. MAYBE YOU COULD LEARN SOMETHING. YOU LOVE DOING THAT, DON'T YOU?"

Long hair, sleek features, strong and tricky... Lightweaver loved her design, but when she looked at what her sister could do, she felt ashamed. She'd just wanted people to help her archive and preserve knowledge, but now that she was being pressured to compare her creations to someone else's, suddenly the joy was gone.

And, of course, FlightRising lore enjoyers know what comes next.

Spurred on by that fierce feeling of inadequacy, her next set of creations would be larger, more beautiful, more powerful than anything that had ever come before. She forced every tear, every sob, every moment of anguish she'd ever felt into her next creation. No dragon that walked the soil of Sornieth would be able to hold a candle to the light of the masterpiece within her claws.

Imperials came after the Everlux-- and Emperors in their wake. The Lightweaver swore to never create a breed out of anguish ever again.

8. Dragon with lore (or I wish had lore)

Oh Hollow here was maybe my first lore dragon I made when I used to be in Shadow :3 His goes as follows:

800 years ago, a great king overlooked his kingdom, silently satisfied with the order and tranquility that flourished around it. He thought to himself 'it is I alone that must keep the peace, shrouded in shadow is what keeps us alive...'

That night, as the moon rose high above the land, the dragons of Murkbarrow gathered around the town square, admiring the statue of Hollow, their great ruler. It was on this night that a festival was to be held, The Night of the Nocturne. The shadow Nocturnes would take flight in formation and soar high above the stars to put on a show for the citizens below.

But as the first one soared in the air, a streaking flash of light struck the Nocturne in their left wing, causing them to screech and fall back down to the ground. Everyone arose with concern, sudden yells of panic and scurrying to safety broke out amongst the crowd. Hollow was quick to action as he watched more streaks of light pierce the shadow veil. He could not understand what was happening.

The streaks of light were infact light arrows that were so hot, the heat from them were enough to burn the flesh of its victims. And so they did, a rain of arrows fell upon the citizens of Murkbarrow, and one by one they perished. Hollow's eyes for once in his life were fearful as he rushed to the aid of his people, trying desperately to pull the arrows out of the dragons, burning his mouth horribly in the process.

It was no use, his people were dying, so many wounded, and as he roared for troops to act as backup in the fray, he was hit. The wound blossomed across his chest as the arrow sunk deep into his heart, he instantly fell to his knees as the life from his body was rapidly leaving him.

The last sounds he heard were those of agony and peril, a symphony of chaos and woe....

Some years after the fall of king Hollow and the kingdom of Murkbarrow, the ruins were once again used for a greater purpose for a new group of dragons. Lady Esperia and her followers were able to re-build a community within using the magic of the arcane, little did she know, it would come with intriguing results...

14. Biggest pet peeve/nitpick

Oh scalpers/upsellers for sure, not to mention everyone knowing how much of a nightmare it is to camp at the MP for a specific gene and it taking probably days for it to come into rotation, hence going to the AH and seeing that it's being sold for higher because they know we so desperately need it, they capitalize on our desperation TT . TT (Dom shops are your friends tho people!)

26. Opinion on Gen 1 dragons

I can understand the hype if it's an old dragon that's gen 1 (bonus if it's an imperial because those are so hard to come by) but I can't understand the need to sell ones with XYZ colors at high prices just because they're a gen 1, unless it's for a holiday or they have unique numbers I suppose. To me, any dragon can be made special and there's no hierarchy to me as to which generation is better <3

46. Necessary genes every new dragon should have

I'm not sure if this question means every new dragon that's made since it's ancients right now and those come with their own specific genes, or every new dragon that I personally buy? I think overall we need more tert genes for dragons, things become imbalanced if the main focus is only on primary and secondary ones. Right now I'm everlux-maxxing so Throne is probably a gene I think every dragon should have because it's just that good

Harlequin and jester. Without a doubt. That's the only thing keeping everluxes from being the most perfect dragon rn tbh that they don't have those genes. Or maybe that's a good thing because otherwise my wallet would be destroyed lmao i keep acquiring everlux projects. But p much every time I scry a dragon I go for those genes I love them so much

I’ve got a bunch! I love my progens JungleSwamp and onion and some cool ones I bought like Ari and my irl friend bought me the auraboa Zelda! They’re all on the main page (I’m Quackstral!)

Pizza and Ari and isopods in general are why I like these guys lmao, dusthides came out when I got to start taking care of isopods and I find them delightful! I’d make so many skins for them if I had the gems Ough,,, I wanna highlight the plating and patterns of their carapaces and make them look more isopod-like in the skins too! I’ve got like a draft Dairy Cow isopod skin going for the F Dusthide pose :0

A: Fathom, Fae, Guardian, Snapper, Veilspun, Imperial, Mirror, Auraboa, Banescale

a is for like not my MOST favorite but still pretty good! JungleSwamp and onion are a guardian and a mirror and a lot of these again I’m biased for due to friend gifts and early purchases dbfjdhdh

I’ve yet to breed more auraboas and such they’re like one of my least utilized breeds but I wanna get a double of this one really good hatch I got from Zelda and Sorella (he’s somewhere in either ‘Farmiliars’ or ‘Random Breeding’ which are basically the same but separated just so I didn’t have to go into multiple pages in a tab lmao)

B: Ridgeback, Tundra, Aberration, Bogsneak, Wildclaw, Undertide, Coatl, Obelisk, Spiral, Gaoler, Sandsurge, Nocturne, Skydancer, Pearlcatcher

some of these are more fitting for A now that I’ve actually like thought about it but the long breed times on some of them are a little bit miffing at times and I haven’t really hatched an Obelisk I like yet, and I only have like one Pearlcatcher who’s active 😭

None of those are ordered in any way the thing was SO small on my phone too Omg lmao

37. Hill you will die on no matter how ridiculous, unimportant or unrealistic it may be

Oh! I’ve got a couple things I’ve thought of

Baldwin queue needs to happen, I think more genes should be shared amongst ancients like the tertiary ones and even if they’re similar like the pointy things on gaolers vs fangs on aberrations (mostly I just like to think about it but if it happens it would be SO cool) and more modern/ancient gene sharing would also be so awesome. Ancient terts on moderns would be fun too!

I think familiars having a chance to drop something they would as an enemy in the coliseum would also be awesome
