"your younger self would be proud of who you have become" is the fakest thing ever. my younger self relied on the idea that by now i would have built a decent, happy life because she was so depressed that the idea of still feeling like that ten years later would have been her end but instead i AM here ten years later and still feel like that, perhaps even worse, and still have not found anyone who loves me and still have no stable life or future to work towards. she would NOT be proud and that's okay, at least she's still here.

Could you do a giselle dom pervy step sister(female reader) smut where they don’t like each other at first but ig giselle found a way to turn that hatred into them fucking in secret while their parents are in the house
ANONNNN!!! YOUR MIND!!!! I've been thinking ab this ask for WEEKS and I finally have time to write about it omg obsessed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
content - stepcest, blackmail, smut (pervy!giselle, cunnilingus, fingering, face sitting, squirt, voyeurism/public(?) sex)
wc - 2739
a/n - catching up slowly but surely on asks, I have no school this week so imma try my best!
you never really warmed up to giselle.
you never really WANTED to ever warm up to her. she was mean, annoying, obnoxious, and greedy. I mean, how fucking self-centered do you have to be to make your baby stepsis call you by another name because she "doesn't deserve to call me by my real name" as giselle had said. what infuriated you was how pretty she was too. someone who was such a bitch shouldn't get the benefit of being attractive, especially since aeri knew and definitely used it to her advantage. whether it be to the people around her like friends, classmates, teachers, or even your parents, she finessed them like no one's business.
but she could never trick or fool you. you were a challenge to her, and it pissed her off not getting what she wanted. giselle HATED your guts. you were smart, sweet, cute, and generous, traits she simply was not. she hated how your guys' parents eyes' would light up in excitement when you came to them with an academic achievement, looking at you with admiration and love, eyes that would look at aeri with annoyance and disappointment.
aeri's not stupid, she knows why she's disliked, but she doesn't really care. it only really started to affect her seeing YOU be soooo liked by them. she simply hated you because you weren't easy, and you hated her because she saw everyone as easy. though, however much it upset you, it upset her to a degree you couldn't even imagine. she had to win the invisible game, and she was going to get her way with you, one way or another. so she devised a plan, which was to put simply, blackmail.
one day when you were gone at school, she set up a secret camera in your room facing your bed. she laid back on the living room couch in content, watching you come home from school, shooting each other a painfully fake greeting, before you ascended upstairs to your room. during nightfall, you would of course, fulfill your physical desires while everyone was asleep in the house, unaware of the recording device from across the room. and in the morning when you left, your wicked stepsis would sneak back in to retrieve the footage, playing it back and giggling to herself, knowing this would ruin you.
giselle's sweet baby stepsis, a sexual deviant during the after hours, shoving a huge dildo into her pussy to force multiple orgasms from her own body.
aeri was giddy with joy, now owning what single-handedly would win her the upper hand. the day continued as normal, but as you were about to go to sleep, there was a knock at your door. you rolled your eyes when you opened it to find a smug aeri, her phone in her hand with a play button over a still image of you in your room. your eyes shift between her and her phone confused before she pushes you inside and shutting the door behind her.
"what the fuck is that aeri?"
she huffs and sits comfortably at the end of your bed, "first of all, it's giselle to you, don't forget. second, how 'bout I show you?"
playing the video on max volume, your muffled moaning erupting from the small screen, watching a video of yourself masturbating. your ears ring and your cheeks flush, pouncing onto the older girl and trying to tear the phone away from her. your older stepsis is far stronger than you and easily you get overpowered, her hands pinning your wrists together and against the bed, her legs straddling either side of your lap.
with one large hand gripping your wrists together and the other hand hovering the still playing video against your face, she smirks, "what? shy? you weren't so shy last night when you were shamelessly fucking yourself, now were you? hm, y/n-ie? my sweet little sister?"
you grit your teeth and shake your head back and forth to deny the accusation, as if it weren't true. her dark chuckle fills your ears and the room, joined with the loud squelching of your pussy coming from the video. you feel tears start to well in your eyes and you plead with her.
"unnie, please... delete that!"
she coos at you, "awww sweetie, you think I'm that easy? not without a price, I won't."
you continue to plea in a desperate voice, "unnie please! I'll do anything! just please, delete it, or don't share it! anything you want!"
her lips curl into a sinister smirk that you can see even in the dark. you feel your heart drop to your stomach at the thought of what she must've suddenly imagined, immediately regretting your choice of words. before you could even consider opening your mouth to take back what you said, aeri drops the phone and covers your mouth.
"anything huh? will you behave for unnie and do anything I want?"
you debate shaking your head no, but when you hear a particularly loud moan come from the video playing next to your ear, you nod your head yes.
"good girl, you may be stubborn but you're not stupid. a little bit dumb for your choice of words though," she hums above you and trails the hand over your mouth downwards, dragging her long slim fingers across your sensitive body, jerking with every inch of contact she makes.
you whine as her fingers circle your hardening nipples and pinch them between her fingertips, giggling at how your body reacts to her touch.
"sensitive little baby, aren't you y/n-ie? fuck you're so cute, you shouldn't be so fucking cute."
aeri hated how much she was enjoying this almost as much as you did. she hated how cute her little sis was, writhing under her, eyes welling with tears in fear, body reacting to every subtle brush, thighs rubbing themselves together to suppress the ache at her core. and you hated it too, you hated that your older sister made you feel so fucking good, how her touch ignited flames in your stomach, how you panted into the air the more intimate her touch became, how you anticipated and needed more when you realized how disgusting this all was.
you both hated it, but you both couldn't get enough.
looking up into giselle's eyes at the same time she looked into yours, locking onto one another and gazing into lustfilled stares, the tension filling the air. the hatred boiled over and morphed into a new emotion, desire. a compromise emerged, and mentally, you both knew what it was. it all felt too good to want to stop, so you gave in.
leaning up and smashing your lips against aeri's, her immediately pushing back into you, pressing you down into your mattress. sloppy wet kisses loud and echoing through the room, both your moaning filling your ears and drowning out any possibility for moral dilemmas to pierce your mind. the hand pinning your wrists down, traveling up to hold your hand, interlacing her fingers through one and letting the other one go.
you let your free hand shoot into her hair, pulling her closer into you and shoving your tongue into her mouth, eliciting a whine to escape giselle's throat, accepting the intrusion. her other hand finds your thigh and brings it up, wrapping your leg around her waist and grinding her hips against your clothed core, making you both groan out into each other's mouths.
"fuck, you're good. why are you good?" she moans into your mouth.
"I'm not- a fucking- amateur." you pant out between kisses.
"yeah? then tell me, has anyone else made you feel this good?"
she questions, almost as a challenge, and you're scared to answer knowing it's just another piece of blackmail to hang over your head. you both already know the truth, obvious by your hips rutting back against her, your sweat dripping down your forehead, neck, and chest, your core aching with need, and your eyes blown to oblivion.
"fuck you," you answer instead.
she chuckles lowly again, the tone and vibration in your mouth when she does it making your pussy throb between your legs.
"not before I fuck you."
flipping you over and onto your hands and knees, tearing your shorts and panties off, throwing them to the ground. she wastes no time shoving your legs apart and licking along your leaking slit, making you moan out and bury your head into your pillows.
"you're so fucking sick, do you know that? being so wet and horny for your unnie like this, you disgusting little whore."
giselle says as if she's not soaked in her own clothes, nipples hard and hole clenching around air. she feels so powerful, so in control, and it feels so good to have you whining under her. sticking her tongue out and getting to work immediately, dragging her wet muscle greedily and swiftly against your pussy, drinking in all of your slick. muffling your moans into your pillows and clawing at your sheets hard enough to rip them.
her strong grip on both of your legs forcing you to keep them apart, slapping your ass every so often and making you scream out into the pillow. her tongue moves around your core so fucking good, alternating between sucking and flicking at your clit to thrusting and licking inside of your cunt, the sounds unbearably sinful and delightful to especially aeri's ears. she's drunk, on the taste and feel of your pussy, the way your body reacts, and the muffled cries being torn from your mouth.
she closes her eyes and relishes in your delicious juice swishing around her mouth, moaning into your pussy at how fucking good it feels to have you like this. her core aches and throbs so painfully, she clenches her thighs to hold it in. she lands another slap on your ass before shoving three fingers into you, already starting with an unforgivable pace, curling them and finding that spot in you easily. you scream and claw at the sheets, almost assuredly knowing your pillow wasn't muffling your cries anymore, not like either of you cared. aeri was going insane and felt herself becoming more and more addicted to you. addicted to ruining you, addicted to having power over you, addicted to owning you.
with the arch of your back and body stilling, you gush cum all over your stepsister's face, thighs trembling and chest heaving, moans slipping out of your mouth like a waterfall, your pussy mimicking the motions of one too. giselle drank all of it, everything, licking all over your leaking cunt and wiping her face of it too, sucking her fingers dry to not leave a single drop wasted.
she didn't even let you rest as she flipped you over onto your back, quickly stripping of her pajamas and lingerie, before climbing up to your face, her thighs resting on both sides of your head.
"use your tongue for something useful, pervy slut."
pfft, hypocrite.
she gives you no time to respond or think before shoving her fat pussy into your mouth which you immediately start to drag your tongue all over, coating it in her slick. your hands grip her juicy thighs and you dig your nails into them, her wincing above you and gripping the headboard with one hand, the other hand in her mouth to muffle her sounds.
you never rip your eyes away from her face for even a second, obsessed with how much sheer pleasure rests on giselle's face, her mouth biting down on her hand, her eyebrows furrowed in concentration, and eyes clamped shut. your nose hits her clit repeatedly with your tongue buried deep inside her cunt, flicking it to stimulate inside her tight walls. she tastes so fucking divine, cum directly entering your mouth and your spit drooling out the sides of your lips.
her hips quicken and she fully rests her weight on your face which makes you delighted, drinking her up and pulling her in, suffocating between her thighs. not that it mattered, you loved it. you couldn't breathe but you pushed through, thrusting your tongue in her and maneuvering her hips as her clit hit the tip of your nose.
"drink my squirt you little bitch, take it! don't waste a drop! fuck!"
she demands you as she cums in your mouth, her pussy squirting onto your tongue. her thighs shake in your hands and you close your eyes to avoid squirt getting in them. you feel like your drowning in the sheer amount of liquid coming from aeri's pussy, but you obey your sister, drinking everything that slides down your throat. she finally calms down and you tap on her thighs in a panic, literally not able to breathe. she laughs above you and stays there, watching color drain from your face before she lifts herself up, watching you cough and gasp for air.
"sick fuck," she says before smashing her lips against yours' and digging her tongue into your mouth again.
suddenly, she pulls away and gets dressed, picking up her phone and waving at you with that infuriating smirk on her face as she opens the door and leaves, "see you again, baby sis!"
and from then on that's when it started, fucking your step sister in secret. at first it was only at night, every night since the first time. then it progressed to whenever your parents were out of the house, fucking on the couch in the living room, on the kitchen island, in the shower, in each other's rooms. at some point, she started to get more flirty with you, her touches lingering for too long when she held your hips in the kitchen to move past you or sliding her hands up your shirt when she'd greet you with a hug when you came home from school, whispering an "I missed you" into your ear, her breath against it making a shiver go down your spine, which always drove you insane.
at some point though, giselle couldn't give less of a fuck if your parents were home or not, she just wanted to fuck you. your family would be having a movie night in the living room and you'd go to the kitchen to get more snacks, the older girl following you to "help." then she'd pin you to the kitchen counter and slip her fingers down your underwear, dipping them into your already wet pussy.
"really y/n-ie? you're fucking wet? were you eye fucking me all night that you couldn't help yourself get horny? let me help you with that baby."
she would whisper breathily into your ear before fingering you right then and there, you clutching the popcorn bag in your fingers and biting down on your lip, trying so hard not to moan and get caught, thankful the movie was loud enough.
or during a dinner party WITH YOUR RELATIVES, she would "accidentally" drop a spoon on the ground and go to retrieve it, only to separate your thighs and trail a long tortuous lick across your exposed pussy, aeri having demanded you to wear nothing under. you're suddenly gripping your utensils and coughing on the food in your mouth, acting like it went down your throat wrong. your sister climbing back up from under the table with a lost spoon and a smile.
and of course, she fingered you under the dining table that night too, your face red and physically incapable of eating for about twenty minutes, clutching her forearm as you came around her fingers in front of everyone. you had bit down on your lip so hard, blood had started dripping down your chin and onto your dress, excusing yourself to clean up. panting out of breath in your room and ripping the dress off of you, your sister following behind you and pinning you to your bed with a smirk.
"that was impressive baby, you were able to keep in all those delicious moans huh? well, don't you dare fucking keep them in now, they can't hear you from here, and we're not even close to finished."
smashing her lips against your blood stained ones, the taste of metal filling her mouth.
and while you're not sure if you're starting to like your sister or not, you definitely start getting used to it (maybe obsessed).
a/n - the other night when I was looking at this ask, I suddenly had the urge to write a "rich girl aeri x reader fic where they both fucking despise each other and are just rich bitches until one night they both break from all the sexual tension and fuck in the back of aeri's car" fic... I'll get to work-

hi 💖 I’m literally ✨obsessed✨ with your writing atm and I’ve never done a request before so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity!!
I would love to read an established couple fic where reader drops by !professor spencer’s office and spicy times ensue 🌶️👀 the trope where reader is inexplicably jealous of the girls auditing his class gets me every 🤌 single 🤌 time 🤌 (but don’t feel like you have to include that trope!! I’m a sucker for any !professor spencer smut lmao)
- 🐺 anon
A/N: Thank you sm for your request!! I am also slightly unhinged about Professor Spencer (I think this is my second one this month lmao) so I hope you enjoy!
Warnings: use of sir, degradation, fingering, no contraception, PinV sex, semi-public sex, jealous reader (she's like 27 beefing with undergrads), age-gap (15 years), Spencer keeps a souvenir of her visit 😊. Also I don't even know if American lecturers have office hours, so like... For context I am a European living in SK lmao. 18+ MINORS DNI
W/C: ~2k
Check out my masterlist!!

You’d lost count of how many times you’d visited Spencer in his office now that he’d started lecturing semi-regularly. The break from his regular activities as a member of the BAU suited him well, and you had no complaints either, loving having an excuse to drop by the college campus he was based on to visit the cute student-run coffee shops and explore the space. And since you’d started working from home while you wrote your novel, you definitely had the time to visit.
Usually, you’d find him in some lecture theatre or the other, but having walked around all his regularly scheduled rooms, he was nowhere in sight. You shrugged a little, figuring that he must be in his office if he was nowhere else. You were right, of course, but he wasn’t exactly alone.
A line of undergrads had formed at his door as you noticed the sign pinned to his door mentioned his updated office hours for the semester in the run-up to finals week. Typical. You were never the best-timed person, and you could see that you weren’t going to get his attention for a while from the look of all the students. You waited outside for him to open the door and summon the next student into his office, settling onto a couch opposite his door.
You weren’t trying to listen in to the multiple conversations going on, but you couldn’t help it when they were being so loud and open.
“God, he’s so fucking hot, I just want him to bend me over that desk and-”
“-wonder if he’s single. If he is, I’m totally going to make a move-”
“-I just know it’s big-”
“- in that lecture about the serial rapist, all I could think about was his hands-”
You blushed a little deeper with each of their confessions. They didn’t know who you were, of course they didn’t, and you sure as hell weren’t going to tell them. But now you knew why it was that they were here, and honestly, you couldn’t blame them for lusting after the man, you’d done the same thing. Your relationship had started in a similar way. You’d knocked on the doors of the FBI with a case back when you were a journalist, and been met with those big brown eyes and it had taken your entire strength to not jump him then and there.
So you understood. But you didn’t have to like it, and you certainly did not. The longer you sat there, the older you felt, constantly resisting the urge to yell at these kids in an old maid's way. Gods he was old enough to be some of these girls’ fathers. You weren’t exactly close in age with him yourself, a gap of about 15 years separating the two of you, but come on.
The door to his office finally cracked open, and you followed the sound of his voice, still rambling out facts as he let the student out.
“Now that you have the difference between stressor and trigger down, you’ll find it easier to interpret some of the readings, just keep in mind that sometimes they can be one and the same.” The student nodded and thanked him before leaving, a slightly disappointed look shadowing her face.
“Y/N, what are you doing here?” His smile lit up the second he saw you, and you held out the coffee you’d bought him earlier to him.
“Thought I’d drop in and see you. I missed you.” Maybe it was petty of you in front of literal teenagers and people who couldn’t even legally drink yet, but you wrapped a hand around his waist, underneath his suit jacket, and looked up at him with a big grin, fluttering your eyelashes. He looked at you with knotted eyebrows, trying to decode your words as if they were the key to cracking a case he was working on.
You felt the eyes of the students burning into you, heard them whispering to each other and your grin deepened. You’d marked your territory successfully.
“I’m sorry, I’ve got office hours for the next 25 minutes, do you mind waiting?” He looked apologetically down at you, speaking with a bit of an awkward tone, not used to the notable PDA.
“That’s fine. I can wait out here, right?” You asked, trying to give him your most innocent look. He nodded his assent, and you returned to your seat, grabbing a book from your bag and settling in as he welcomed the next student to his office.
An hour later, all the students had finally dispersed. A fair few of them had given up after you made your identity known, embarrassingly slinking away from the queue, but a fair few had stuck it out, still just wanting a glimpse of him. The conversation had dimmed though, now back on the topic of college parties and TikTok stars or something.
When the final student slipped out of the office, you jumped up enthusiastically and joined Reid inside, letting yourself in with a small knock and a sing-song “professor.”
He was sat at his desk, glasses perched on his nose looking down at some papers, and looking as attractive as he had the day you’d met him. You slunk over to him, swirling his chair around so you could sit on his lap, wrapping your arms around his neck and pressing a deep kiss to his lips.
“What’s gotten into you today?” He asked, grabbing your hips and pulling you closer to him, obviously not objecting to the sudden physicality of your affection. “It’s not an anniversary, we’re only on our 1,813th day of dating which doesn’t mark any milestones or other special cultural holidays, so what gives.”
“You know I love it when you talk numbers to me.”
“You know I love it even more when you spill and tell me what’s going on? Come on, Y/N, something’s different.” You pouted at this goddamn superhuman perception. It was going to be embarrassing to admit that you saw the gaggle of girls that had been crowding around his office as competition.
“There were a lot of students today.” You said, simply changing the topic a bit, hoping you wouldn’t have to explicitly name the green-eyed monster that had taken over you.
“Not really, that’s about the amount I get every time I open office hours.”
“Every time?” He’d told you often that you were an absolutely open book, your facial expressions baring your every thought and feeling. So you cursed yourself at the pout you felt forming on your lips.
“Woah, what was that? Y/N, are you… are you jealous?”He laughed a little bit as your frown deepened, a flush coming up to cover your face.
“So what if I am?”
“Have I not been paying enough attention to you, baby?” He trailed his hand up between your thighs and your breath hitched as you felt the tone of the conversation immediately shift.
“They were talking about you, y’know?” your breath hitched at the last word, as his hand found its way to your clit, beginning to press the tiniest of circles around that nerve.
“Oh? What were they saying that made my princess so upset?” The hand gripping your hip was nearly painful now, as he clasped you tightly, letting your legs spread for him as he slowly picked up the pace, your back now flush against his chest as he looked down to between your legs from over your shoulder. Your head was thrown back against him, your chest rising and falling with every small movement.
“They were talking a-about your hands,” you moaned out. His eyes stayed fixed on your center, but his free hand trailed up to your blouse, popping a few buttons expertly so he could see the rise and form of your chest, see your nipples sticking out through the thin bra you’d chosen that morning.
“Hmm, is that it baby? They just talked about these hands?” He continued at his agonizing pace on your clit as his hand lifted to your nipples, pulling one breast free of your bra and beginning to roll it between his fingers. You writhed at the touch, trying desperately to keep quiet, knowing from your time outside just how thin these walls were.
“Baby, I think you didn’t hear me. Was that all they said?” His tone was darker now, and you knew you had to answer before he made you.
“No!” You moaned out, trying to gain back some composure when all you wanted to do was relax into his hands and let him pull your release from you. “They… they said they knew you were big… Down there.” He laughed a little at that and shifted his hips underneath you.
“And are they correct baby?” You feel him pressing against your leg now and it takes everything in you not to let your eyes roll back in pleasure and let him use you as he wants.
“Yes, sir. They were… they were right, you always fill me up so good.” Your hips start grinding down into his, his hand stilling as you use him to get yourself off.
“There’s something else they said, right, baby? You’re holding something back?” He smiled, dropping hot open-mouthed kisses to your neck as you frantically rubbed yourself up against him. Your moans were ripping out from your mouth now in frustrated moans, as you felt needy in a way you’d never quite experienced before.
“Stop teasing, Spencer.”
“No. This is my office, and you come in draping yourself all over me like a whore in front of all of my students. You don’t get to call me Spencer right now, you’re going to have to show a little bit more respect.” With those words he pushed you up to your feet, pulling his hands off of you before quickly clearing a space on the desk and bending you over it.
“I heard this bit. They said they wanted me to bend them over and take them like this, right?” You heard him unzip his pants, bringing the tip of his cock to your entrance as he started teasing you, pulling your panties to the side. You moaned out a yes, but that wasn’t enough for him anymore.
“Use your words, baby. What did they want me to do to them?”
“They wanted you to bend them over the desk and fuck them like a little whore, sir.” With that confession out in the open, he finally pushed into you, stretching you out with a sinful groan slipping from his mouth.
“Fuck baby, so tight and wet for me…” His thrusts were hard and slow, and you could feel the wetness seeping down your legs, the wet sounds of your activity filling the space infinitely. His pace picked up and so did your constant mewls from the contact, the sounds completely unmistakable for anything but base lust.
“You’re so fucking wet for me, sweetheart. Going to come, right here on my cock in my office, huh?”
“Yes, sir, I’m going to…. Shit, I’m going to cum.” He grabbed your hair and pulled your face up to his, swallowing each of your moans with his mouth as he let his tongue explore, your body twitching still under his ministrations. He kept his rough pace up for another minute or two before hitting his peak as well, pulling out to empty himself out on your thighs.
“Shit, Y/N,” he mumbled, falling back into his chair and running a hand through his tousled hair as you fell forward back into the desk, chest heaving. He was at eye level with the results of his labour and you heard the sound of his phone camera clicking before you could pull yourself together.
“Spencer!” You giggled awkwardly, looking back at him with an incredulous look as he pulled some tissues out of the desk drawer and started cleaning you up.
“What? I always take notes during my office hours.” He grinned up at you, as you turned around and planted another kiss to his lips, pulling him back up to you.
“How many students do you think will actually turn up to your class tomorrow?”
“I’ll be lucky if the module actually has any sign-ups next term.”

Bitter Sweet Symphony 1
Tumblr media
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Character: Thor
Summary: you meet a god in real life but he's not the saviour you think.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
Tumblr media
You catch Joanie by her knapsack before she can disappear into the crowd. Your heart lurches as you just picture her tiny stature getting lost in the New York crush. You pull her back to you.
“Joan, take me hand,” you demand shakily.
“Sorry, I thought I saw...” she begins then shakes her head. The cat ears on her hat wiggle. She grabs your hand with her small one and you squeeze. “Nothing. I’m just excited.”
“You know mom would kill me if I lost you,” you draw her out of the way of another pedestrian. The man in his suit doesn’t spare you a single thought as he charges by.
“Ha, I’m not going to get lost,” she insists.
You grumble but don’t voice your anxiety. She’s young and it’s all so big and loud to her. She’s still to young to be scared. You admire your half-sister for that but it also fills you with dread.
“I did!” She squeals and jumps in her pink high tops. “I saw him, I saw him.”
She points and her hand bounces off the hip of a woman strutting by. You apologise and once more redirect your sister. You squint and search in the direction she pointed. Yellow taxis honk as they roll by and jay walkers dodge between them.
“Thor!” Your sister hollers and hops up again, waving her hand.
That’s when you see him. You don’t know how you missed him. There’s so much going on that all the buildings and bodies blend together. For as long as you’ve been in the city, you’re still not used to the chaos of it all.
“Thor?” You echo her.
“Duh! God of Thunder! He hangs out with Iron Man.”
“Right,” you shepherd her back before she can get underfoot. “You know what mom says about talking to strangers.”
“He’s not a stranger, he’s a hero.” She argues.
“Maybe but I’m sure he’s just trying to live his life. He doesn’t look like he’s hero-ing right now, kiddo,” you chide.
“But...” her face falls. “But we don’t have heroes at home! What if I never see another one again? I just wanna say hi.”
“I know, Joan, but I...” you pause and glance back. There are others clustering around the tall man. He smiles and welcomes them as he greets them all graciously. You just hate to be in others way. You should have considered that before you moved to one of the most overcrowded places on earth. “Alright, but we’re going to go down and cross at the walk, right?”
She harrumphs and agrees begrudgingly, “right.”
You take her down the sidewalk, clamped onto her as you steer her around the New Yorkers trapped in the tunnel vision of their own existence. You get to the corner and wait and cross with a cluster. You glance down the pavement as Joanie squirms.
“Oh no, I think he’s gone,” she whines.
You look desperately ahead and grimace. You hope you didn’t ruin it for her. You drag her along, hoping that long blonde hair will pop up again. It doesn’t. You get to the exact place you spotted him. He’s not there.
“I’m so sorry, Joanie. I just wanted to be safe.” You turn to her, your chest dropping. “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s fine...” she drones and hangs her head.
You stumble as a man knocks into your hip. You try to make yourself smaller but it’s hard to dodge anyone on the sidewalk even without a little extra cushion. You peer around and your eyes catch on the hanging sign of a bakery.
“How about a treat instead? You love cupcakes, right?” You coax her.
“Mm, I guess,” she shrugs.
Her disappointment stings. You feel horrid. You know she’s going to hold onto this.
“Come on, let’s get out of this,” you pull her to the bakery door.
As you enter, you sigh. You’re happy to be free of the city crawl. You look up at the menu above the counter. You’ve never been in here before. It’s a nice place and the desserts look immaculate. They’re also expensive.
“Look they have a unicorn--” You begin and Joanie rips her hand away as she wiggles.
“He’s here!” She cries out. “It’s Thor.”
Her voice carries across the space and you cringe and you look over to find the man, or god, in question. His blue eyes round as he bites into a cupcake piled with icing. The sugary topping marks his nose as he pulls it away and gulps. He gives a goofy smile.
“Joanie,” you whisper, “he’s just trying to enjoy his food.”
“Little one!” He waves before you can deter her. “You know me.”
Joanie giggles and squeals and skips over before you can stop her. You trail after her reluctantly as she hops up to his table, “your Thor, king of Asgard, God of Thunder!” She jitters. “I know you!”
He booms with laughter and wipes the icing from his beard and nose. His cupcake is forgotten on a small saucer. “An honour to meet you...”
“Joanie!” She nearly hollers. “My name is Joanie.”
“Ah, a beautiful name,” he praises and his eyes wander over you as you hover behind her. “And this lady, your mother?”
“Sister!” Joanie replies before you can and gives your name.
You try to smile as he grins at you and his eyes seem to sparkle. You wonder if that’s a god thing. Your cheeks are hot as his gaze bores into you.
“Are you here for the cupcakes? They are delicious. I recommend the confetti.” He puts his attention back to Joanie. “Would you like to join me?”
“Oh, sir, thanks, that’s so kind but we’ll just be getting ours to go--”
“But--” Joanie begins to whine and you lay your hand on her shoulder.
“If you don’t mind. She’s a big fan.”
“Not at all,” he assures you. “Allow me to treat you. What are we having?”
He stands and you shrink as he towers over you. There aren’t many who can make you feel small. You can’t help but take a step back and herd Joanie with you.
“Um...” you look over, “it’s really—I don’t mind. I can’t get ours. We’ve already bothered--”
“I must insist. As a king, I prize courtesy above all. Please sit and allow me to bring you some sweets.”
“I want the unicorn!” Joanie demands before you can stop her. You give Thor and apologetic look. He only seems amused by her awe.
“That’s very generous of you, what do we say, Joanie?” You say.
“Please and thank you,” she chirps.
“Yes, thank you, Thor. I’m fine with something simple. Vanilla is good for me.” You move Joanie away from him, “come on, let’s sit down. We’ve done a lot of walking.”

Tumblr media
You've always been in love with Sungchan. From the very first moment you met him in the school courtyard, when he handed you that crumpled homework sheet with a shy smile, you knew he was different. As the years passed, that initial spark only grew stronger, turning into a fierce flame that consumed you every time you saw him. It’s funny, really, how someone can become your entire world without them even realizing it. Every laugh you shared, every secret you whispered, every moment you spent together, it was like living in a dream. But dreams are fragile, and reality has a way of waking you up abruptly.
Sungchan was always a constant in your life, a steady presence that you could always count on. He never once imagined a world where you weren’t there, by his side, supporting him through thick and thin. You think he took it for granted, your unwavering loyalty and affection. Not that you ever blamed him. It’s easy to overlook what’s always there, right in front of you.
You both grew up together, navigating the tumultuous years of adolescence, laughing through your awkward phases, and holding each other up through heartbreaks and disappointments. Sungchan had a magnetic personality; he was charming, kind, and effortlessly popular. People were drawn to him, and he thrived on the attention, though he remained humble and grounded. You, on the other hand, were content to remain in the background, his ever-present shadow, silently cheering him on.
There were moments when you thought he might feel the same way, fleeting glances and lingering touches that set your heart racing. But they were always followed by casual comments about other girls, reminders that you were firmly placed in the friend zone. Still, you held onto hope, convinced that one day he would see you, truly see you, for who you were and how deeply you cared for him.
You wonder when that day will come.
“Sungchan, I really don’t want to go to this party,” you say, trying to keep the whine out of your voice as you hug a cushion to your chest. “I’d rather just stay home and watch anime.”
Sungchan pouts, leaning against your bedroom door. “Come on, it’s going to be fun! Everyone’s going to be there, and I don’t want to go without you.”
Eunseok, Sungchan’s roommate and your mutual friend, looks up from his phone with a smirk. “Dude, if she doesn’t want to go, don’t hound her. Let her have her anime night in peace.”
Sungchan shoots Eunseok a pleading look. “Eunseok, help me out here. You know how boring it’ll be without her.”
Eunseok shrugs, leaning back against the wall. “Why don’t you just go by yourself for once? You don’t need to drag her to every single party, man.”
You smile gratefully at Eunseok, appreciating his attempt to take the pressure off. “Thanks, Eunseok. Besides, you know I’m not really a party person.”
Sungchan sighs dramatically, running a hand through his hair. “Please? Just this one last time? I promise I won’t bug you about parties anymore if you come tonight.”
You glance at Eunseok, who raises an eyebrow and grins. “Fine,” you say, giving in. “But only if Eunseok goes too.”
Eunseok chuckles. “Alright, I guess I can sacrifice my night to keep you two company.”
Sungchan’s face lights up, and he pumps his fist in the air. “Yes! It’s going to be awesome, I promise!”
Later that night, the three of you meet up and head to the party together. As soon as you walk through the door, the noise and energy hit you like a wave. Sungchan, in his element, quickly spots some friends and ditches you and Eunseok without a second thought.
You expected this. Taking a deep breath, you turn to Eunseok. “Guess it’s just you and me, then.”
He nods, giving you a sympathetic smile. “Let’s find a quieter spot, yeah?”
You both navigate through the crowd, eventually finding a relatively peaceful corner where the music is a little less deafening. You sit down on a couch, and Eunseok joins you, leaning back and looking around with mild interest.
“So, what’s the deal with you and Sungchan?” he asks after a moment. “You’ve been friends forever, right?”
“Yeah, since middle school,” you reply, feeling a familiar pang in your chest. “He’s always been there for me.”
Eunseok nods, studying your face. “And you’re always there for him.”
You sigh, picking at a loose thread on the couch. “I guess.”
Eunseok’s eyes soften. “You like him, don’t you?”
Your heart skips a beat, and you glance at him, startled. “Is it that obvious?”
He shrugs, giving you a small, knowing smile. “I’m observant. And it’s not just me. Everyone who’s close to you can see it.”
You feel a flush creeping up your neck. “I’ve tried to keep it a secret.”
Eunseok shakes his head. “You’re not fooling anyone. And honestly, I don’t think Sungchan is as clueless as he pretends to be.”
You stiffen, your eyes narrowing. “What do you mean?”
Before Eunseok can answer, you spot Sungchan across the room, laughing with Yuri, the popular tennis captain. Your heart sinks as you watch them together, the easy way they interact, the chemistry that’s undeniable.
She’s beautiful, confident, and completely captivated by Sungchan. The way she looks at him, with an intensity that mirrors your own hidden feelings, sends a pang of jealousy through your chest. You try to shake it off, to remind yourself that Sungchan and you are just friends, that you have no claim over him. But it hurts, more than you want to admit.
Eunseok follows your gaze and sighs. “Why do you let him do this to you?”
You tear your eyes away from Sungchan and look at Eunseok, confused. “Do what?”
“Play with your feelings like this,” he says softly. “It’s like he knows exactly how you feel and he’s just stringing you along.”
You shake your head, feeling a surge of anger. “No, Sungchan isn’t like that. He’s not cruel.”
Eunseok holds up his hands in a placating gesture. “He brought you to a party knowing you hate them just to abandon you. You deserve better.”
Tears prick at the corners of your eyes, and you blink them away, not wanting to cry in front of Eunseok. “I don’t know. Maybe I’m just being stupid.”
“You’re not stupid,” Eunseok says firmly. “You have a big heart, and you care deeply. That’s not a bad thing. But you also need to take care of yourself.”
You look down, feeling a mixture of emotions swirling inside you. “I just...I keep hoping that he’ll see me. Really see me.”
Eunseok leans closer, his voice gentle. “And what if he never does? Are you going to keep waiting forever?”
You bite your lip, unable to answer. The thought of giving up on Sungchan is too painful to contemplate.
Eunseok sighs, placing a hand on yours. “You’re a wonderful person. Anyone would be lucky to have you in their life. Don’t waste your time on someone who doesn’t appreciate that.”
You look up at him, grateful for his words even though they sting. “Thanks, Eunseok. I needed to hear that.”
He smiles, squeezing your shoulder reassuringly. “Anytime.”
The rest of the night passes in a blur. You stick close to Eunseok, finding comfort in his presence. He’s a good listener, and you find yourself opening up to him more than you expected. He shares stories about his own life, his ambitions, and his struggles, and you realize how little you actually knew about him before tonight.
As the night wears on, you watch Sungchan and Yuri grow closer, their conversation becoming more intimate, their touches more frequent. You felt like an outsider, a silent observer to the budding romance that was unfolding before your eyes. You knew then that you were losing him, that the dream you had cherished for so long was slipping away.
As the party winds down, you and Eunseok decide to leave. Sungchan is nowhere to be found, still presumably with Yuri. You walk back to your apartment with Eunseok, the cool night air helping to clear your mind.
When you reach your door, Eunseok turns to you with a serious expression. “Remember what I said. You deserve to be happy.”
You nod, feeling a warmth in your chest that wasn’t there before. “I will. Thanks, Eunseok.”
He smiles and gives you a small wave before heading to his own apartment. You watch him go, a sense of calm settling over you.
Tumblr media
The next morning, you wake up to a series of text messages lighting up your phone. Blinking away the sleep, you scroll through the notifications. Eunseok’s message catches your eye first.
[eunseok]: Hey, just checking in. How are you feeling this morning?
A soft smile tugs at your lips, warmth spreading through your chest at his concern. You scroll down to find another message from Sungchan.
[sungchanie]: last night was wild! i think i met the love of my life lol.”
Your heart sinks. You feel a sharp pang of jealousy and sadness. Taking a deep breath, you compose yourself and respond to Sungchan’s message with a simple thumbs-up emoji. You then turn back to Eunseok’s message, grateful for his support.
[you]: morning eunseok. just found out that sungchan thinks yuri is the love of his life lol :p
His reply is almost immediate.
[eunseok]: I’m sorry to hear that. Would you like me to come over? I have ice cream and a Netflix subscription.
You giggle despite yourself, feeling a bit lighter.
[you]: yes please! cookie dough ice cream?
[eunseok]: You got it. Be there soon.
A short while later, there’s a knock on your door. You open it to find Eunseok standing there with a tub of cookie dough ice cream, two spoons and a warm smile.
“Hey,” he says softly, stepping inside. He doesn’t ask any questions, just pulls you into a hug and leads you to the couch.
“Hey,” you reply, feeling a little better already.
You both settle in, the ice cream tub between you. As the first romcom starts playing, you can’t help but feel grateful for Eunseok’s presence. He makes you laugh at all the right moments, and the pain of seeing Sungchan with Yuri begins to fade into the background.
By the time you’re halfway through the second movie, you find yourself cuddled up against Eunseok, his arm draped over your shoulders. The warmth and comfort you feel with him are undeniable, and for the first time in a long while, you feel a sense of peace.
However a series of knocks on the door soon interrupts your tranquility. Sighing, you disentangle yourself from Eunseok and head to answer it. Standing there is Sungchan, his usual bright smile on his face.
“Hey! You won’t believe how amazing Yuri is,” he starts, letting himself in. His excitement is palpable, but it quickly dims when he spots Eunseok on the couch, occupying what has always been his unspoken spot.
“What’s he doing here?” Sungchan asks, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Eunseok looks up casually. “Hanging out with ____”
You take a deep breath, summoning the strength you’ve been cultivating over the past few hours. “Sungchan, we’re busy right now. Can you come back later?”
Sungchan looks taken aback, surprise flickering across his face. He glances between you and Eunseok before nodding slowly. “Uh, sure. I’ll catch you later then.”
You watch him leave, closing the door gently behind him. Turning back to Eunseok, you feel a strange mixture of relief and anxiety.
“I’m proud of you,” Eunseok says softly, pulling you back into his arms. “I know that probably wasn’t easy.”
You blush, shrugging lightly. “It’s... getting easier.”
The next few weeks follow a similar pattern. You and Eunseok spend more time together, finding comfort in each other’s company. You gradually start to distance yourself from Sungchan, realizing that holding onto the hope of him seeing you differently only brings more pain.
Sometimes, the days that follow are a blur of pain and numbness. Sungchan calls and texts you, mostly about Yuri and you can’t bring yourself to respond. You need space, time to come to terms with the reality that he has found someone else, someone who isn’t you. You tell yourself that you should be happy for him, that his happiness is all that matters, but it’s a bitter pill to swallow.
One evening, as you're sitting in your room, trying to focus on studying, your phone lights up with a text message. It’s from Sungchan.
[sungchanie]: did i do something wrong?
Your heart sinks at the message. Despite everything, you still care deeply about him, and the thought of hurting him hurts you too. You stare at the screen, unsure of how to respond.
A few minutes later, another message comes through.
[sungchanie]: i hate the silent treatment y/n :(
You take a deep breath, your fingers hovering over the keyboard. As much as you don’t want to feel anything for him anymore, you can’t deny the rush of emotions that flood your chest.
[you]: “hey sungchan. you haven’t done anything wrong,,,just been swamped with classes and needed some time to myself
Almost immediately, your phone buzzes with another message from him.
[sungchanie]: can i come over? i miss hanging out with you
You hesitate for a moment, chewing on your bottom lip. Despite everything, you find yourself typing back.
[you]: sure
Not long after, there’s a knock on your door. You take a deep breath and open it to find Sungchan standing there with a sheepish smile.
“Hey,” he says softly, stepping inside. “I’ve missed you.”
You manage a small smile. “I’ve missed you too.”
He glances around your room. “Where’s Eunseok? I’m surprised he’s not attached to your hip.”
You chuckle nervously, feeling a pang of guilt. “He’s at a study group.”
Sungchan nods, taking a seat on your bed. “So, about Yuri...”
Your heart sinks, but you swallow the lump in your throat and force a smile. “Yeah, tell me about her.”
Sungchan launches into how he and Yuri have been on a few dates, how he thinks he’s going to ask her out officially soon. You listen, nodding along and trying to push down the ache in your chest.
“That’s great, Sungchan,” you manage to say, forcing cheerfulness into your tone. “I’m really happy for you.”
Just then, your phone buzzes with a text message from Eunseok.
[eunseok]: Hey! Would you like to join me and some friends for a game night tonight?
You smile at the invitation and text back quickly.
[you]: sure! i’ll be there ^-^
Sungchan glances at your phone curiously. “Who’s that?”
You hesitate, then decide to be honest. “It’s Eunseok. He invited me to join him for a game night with his friends.”
Sungchan’s expression shifts slightly, a flicker of jealousy crossing his face. “Oh. Are you guys... dating?”
Your heart skips a beat at the question, and you falter for a moment. “Um, no, we’re just friends.”
But Sungchan doesn’t seem satisfied with your answer. His brows furrow, and he leans forward, his voice tinged with frustration. “It’s just... you two seem really close. It almost feels like he’s replacing me.”
You feel a surge of frustration and hurt. “Sungchan, he’s just being a good friend. No one could ever replace you.”
He shakes his head, his frustration boiling over. “Do you even realize what you’re doing? You’re letting Eunseok get in between us!”
Your eyes widen in shock. “What are you talking about? There’s nothing going on between me and Eunseok. He’s just my friend.”
Sungchan stands up, his voice rising. “I’ve known you for so long, and now suddenly Eunseok is always around. It’s like I don’t even matter anymore!”
You stand up too, your own anger bubbling. “That’s not fair, Sungchan! You’ve been spending all your time with Yuri, and I needed someone to talk to. Eunseok has been there for me when you weren’t.”
He scoffs, shaking his head. “You don’t get it, do you? You’ve replaced me with him. Every time I turn around, he’s there. And it feels like you don’t even care.”
Tears prick at your eyes as you try to defend yourself. “I do care! But you’re the one who’s been distant. You’re the one who found someone else.”
Sungchan’s eyes flash with hurt and anger. “Maybe I did, but that doesn’t mean you had to replace me so easily.”
You shake your head, feeling the weight of his words. “You’re being unfair, Sungchan. Eunseok is just a good friend. You’re the one who’s been pushing me away.”
His face hardens, and he takes a step back. “Maybe I needed to, because it hurts too much to see you with him.”
You’re stunned into silence, the weight of his confession hanging in the air. Before you can say anything, he turns on his heel and storms out of your room, slamming the door behind him.
You collapse onto your bed, tears streaming down your face. The argument replays in your mind, each word cutting deeper than the last. You can’t shake the feeling of loss and confusion, wondering how things went so wrong.
Despite your pain, you decide to suck it up and go to the game night. You text Eunseok, letting him know you’re on your way. When you arrive, his friends greet you warmly, their cheerful banter and infectious energy immediately starting to lift your spirits.
Eunseok’s friends, Beomgyu, Anton, Karina, Yujin and Jake, quickly draw you into their circle. They’re a lively bunch, and it’s impossible not to be swept up in their enthusiasm.
“Alright, who’s ready for a game of spoons?” Beomgyu announces, waggling his eyebrows mischievously.
“You’re not planning to cheat again, are you, Beomgyu?” Yujin teases, raising an eyebrow.
He gasps dramatically. “Me? Cheat? Never!” But there’s a twinkle in his eye that suggests otherwise.
Anton and Jake’s dynamic is particularly amusing. Anton is calm and methodical, while Jake is a bundle of energy, constantly in motion. They bicker and banter like an old married couple, which keeps you entertained and helps take your mind off Sungchan.
As the game progresses, you can’t help but notice Beomgyu’s suspiciously fast reflexes. Every time a spoon is up for grabs, he somehow always manages to snatch it first.
“I’m onto you, Beomgyu,” you say with a mock-serious tone after he wins yet another round. “You’re definitely cheating.”
He laughs, holding up his hands in mock surrender. “I’m just that good, I swear!”
Eunseok, sitting next to you, chuckles. “Don’t let him fool you, ____. Beomgyu’s a known cheater.”
You laugh along, feeling more relaxed than you have all evening but Eunseok’s keen eyes don’t miss the occasional flickers of sadness that cross your face. After you both lose a particularly intense round of spoons, he stands up and offers you a hand.
“Help me with snacks in the kitchen?” he asks gently.
You nod and follow him, grateful for the brief escape. In the kitchen, Eunseok begins prepping more snacks, occasionally feeding you bits of fruit or cheese.
“Are you okay?” he asks softly, his concern evident.
You sigh, leaning against the counter. “Sungchan and I got into an argument before I came over.”
Eunseok pauses, looking at you intently. “What was it about?”
You hesitate, then spill the details about Sungchan feeling replaced by Eunseok and how hurt and jealous he seemed. Eunseok’s expression darkens.
“He said that it hurt too much to see us together.”
“That’s manipulative,” he says bluntly.
You shake your head, feeling a rush of defensiveness. “He’s just hurt, Eunseok.”
“He knows what he’s doing, ____,” Eunseok counters. “Why would he say that it hurts to see us together if he doesn’t have feelings for you? He’s just stringing you along.”
You don’t know what to say, the truth of his words sinking in but conflicting with your loyalty to Sungchan. The emotions swirling inside you become too much to handle.
“I think I should go home,” you finally say, your voice small.
Eunseok’s face falls. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to ruin your night.”
“It’s not you,” you reassure him, managing a weak smile. “It’s just hitting me how messed up this situation is.”
He sighs, running a hand through his hair. “Let me walk you home.”
You shake your head. “No, you should stay with your friends. I’ll be fine.”
Reluctantly, Eunseok nods. “Alright, but text me when you get home, okay?”
“I will,” you promise.
As you make your way home, your mind races with thoughts of the evening’s events. You replay Eunseok’s words over and over, feeling a mixture of frustration, sadness, and an unexpected hint of clarity.
When you finally arrive home, you text Eunseok as promised.
[you]: i’m home. thanks for tonight
[eunseok]: Anytime. I'm here if you need to talk.
You appreciate his unwavering support but feel a heavy weight pressing on your chest. You sit on your bed, staring at your phone, wondering how you ended up in this tangled web of emotions.
Tumblr media
The next week is a blur of classes and studying. You try to avoid thinking about Sungchan and focus on your schoolwork, but it’s a losing battle. His absence is a constant ache, a reminder of the distance growing between you.
Tonight, you find yourself standing in front of his apartment, your heart pounding in your chest. You don’t know what you hope to achieve, but you know you can’t keep pretending that everything is okay. You need closure, one way or another.
Before you can even knock, the door swings open and Sungchan stands there, surprise flashing across his face when he sees you. “____, what are you doing here?”
“I wanted to talk,” you say, trying to keep your voice steady.
Just then, Yuri pops out from behind Sungchan, wrapping her arms around his waist and planting a kiss on his lips. Your heart clenches as you watch them, but you force yourself to stay composed.
After a moment, Yuri finally pulls away. “I’ll see you later, Sungchan,” she says, giving him one last peck and you a smug grin before leaving.
Once she’s gone, Sungchan lets you in, making a snarky comment as he closes the door. “Where’s Eunseok? I thought he’d be glued to your side.”
You stay calm and reply, “I didn’t come to fight with you, Sungchan. I just want to clear the air.”
He nods, crossing his arms. “So, are you ready to apologize?”
You’re taken aback. “Apologize for what?”
“For being a bad friend recently,” he says, standing his ground.
Anger rises within you. “No, Sungchan. You’ve been a bad friend. You blew me off at the party after begging me to go. Then here comes Yuri, and now you’re completely pussy whipped.”
He scoffs, rolling his eyes. “Don’t tell me you’re jealous of Yuri. I thought you’d be over your little high school crush by now.”
The words hit you like a punch to the gut. “What?”
Sungchan stares at you blankly and you feel anger coursing through your veins as you realize he’s known all this time. He knew just how much you love and care for him and he took it selfishly, knowing just what to say to keep you by his side. He only ever gave you just enough to string you along and give you false hope. Eunseok was right.
“How could you be so... so cruel? All this time you knew I liked you but led me on and kept me around for your own satisfaction. How could you do that? We’re supposed to be best friends.”
“Exactly,” he snaps back. “Best friends. So stop thinking we’ll ever be more. It weirds me out.”
The argument escalates, voices rising with each exchange.
“You knew,” you say, tears welling up in your eyes. “You knew how I felt and you still... How could you do that?”
“I didn’t have feelings for you then, and I still don’t now,” Sungchan retorts, his face twisted in anger. “You need to move on.”
“How could you be so heartless?” you cry out, the pain evident in your voice. “You used me. You knew how much I cared and you used me.”
Sungchan’s expression softens for a moment, guilt flickering in his eyes, but it quickly hardens again. “I didn’t use you. I thought you were over it. I thought we were just friends.”
You shake your head, tears streaming down your face. “Go screw yourself, Sungchan.”
You turn towards the door, ready to leave, but before you can open it, Eunseok lets himself in. He sees your tears and Sungchan’s guilty expression, his own face hardening with anger.
“What the hell is going on here?” Eunseok demands, glaring at Sungchan before turning his attention to you. “Come on, let’s get out of here.”
He grabs your hand and leads you away, his grip firm but gentle. You don’t resist, too overwhelmed by the confrontation to do anything but follow him. He takes you to a nearby boba shop and finds a quiet corner for the two of you. After placing your orders, he brings your drink and sits beside you, offering silent support.
For a while, you both sip your drinks in silence. Then, Eunseok starts talking about his economics midterm, detailing how tough it was and how he’s sure he failed. You appreciate his attempt to distract you and let him continue, feeling a small sense of normalcy returning.
Once he’s done venting about his exam, you take a deep breath and softly say, “Thank you.”
He smiles gently. “You never have to thank me. I’m here for you, always.”
He looks at you with gentle concern. “Do you want to talk about it?”
You play with the straw of your drink, gathering your thoughts. “We had a huge fight. Sungchan said some really hurtful things… things I didn’t expect him to say.”
Eunseok’s face darkens. “What did he say?”
You recount the argument, detailing how Sungchan accused you of being a bad friend and dismissed your feelings as a mere high school crush. By the time you’re done, Eunseok is seething with anger on your behalf.
“He’s an immature prick,” he snaps, his eyes flashing with anger. “How could he say those things to you? After everything you’ve done for him?”
“I don’t know,” you whisper, tears welling up again. “I thought he was my best friend.”
Eunseok takes your hand in his, squeezing it reassuringly. “You deserve so much better, ____. Don’t let him make you feel like you’re in the wrong. You’ve been an amazing friend to him, and he doesn’t appreciate it.”
His words are like a balm to your wounded heart, and you manage a small smile. “Thank you, Eunseok. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
He smiles back, his anger slowly dissipating. “You’ll never have to find out. I’m here for you, always.”
The two of you sit in comfortable silence for a while, sipping your drinks and finding solace in each other’s presence.

Pairing : Y/n x Chris Sturniolo
Summary : Law student Y/n’s life takes a turn when she reconnects with Chris, her brief teenage flame who is now a dealer for a dangerous Boston drug gang. As their bond reignites, Y/n is drawn into Chris’s tumultuous world, where rival gangs clash and loyalty is everything. Balancing her love for Chris with her own ambitions, can their connection survive the chaos that threatens to pull them apart?
Warnings : MDNI, mentions of drugs, angst, mentions of shooting, confusion, flufffffff
The morning light beamed through the windows of the bridal studio as I quickly unlocked the door, stepping into the familiar sight of lace and silk. It was a quiet Saturday morning after my date with Chris, and the shop felt like a safe space from the thoughts swirling through my mind since last night. I flicked on the lights, the soft glow illuminating the rows of white gowns hanging in neat lines. Saturdays were always busy, especially with brides coming in for final fittings, but today felt like it would be a bit harder since there was a heavy weight in my chest that I couldn’t seem to lift.
As I settled behind the counter, I turned on the small radio, keeping my normal routine. Soft music played for a few moments before the news interrupted.
“Breaking news this morning: Boston police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred last night. One incident took place in Somerville, while the other took place in the South End area. No fatalities have been reported yet, but authorities believe both incidents may be gang related. More updates to follow.”
I paused, my fingers freezing over the appointment book. Two shootings? I felt a chill run down my spine as I listened. How awful it was that violence like this was so common here the last few years, and how easily lives could be shattered overnight. The mention of gangs tugged at something deep within me - a sense of unease I had been trying to push away since Chris abruptly left last night. I shook my head, trying to shake the thought.
I went through the motions of my normal working day, greeting brides and their families with the same professional smile, but my thoughts kept drifting. The night before had left me feeling.. off.. and heavily single. Chris and I had started the date on such a high, but the way he left so suddenly, without really explaining much, left me with a sinking feeling. It wasn’t just disappointment, it was confusion, too. Was I the only one catching feelings? It made me feel fucking stupid.
After my shift ended, I headed home, my legs heavy with exhaustion. As soon as I walked through my bedroom door and threw myself on my bed, my phone buzzed. I glanced at it, expecting a message from Willow, and sure enough, her name lit up my screen.
Willow: “Hey girl! There’s a party at Tyler’s tomorrow night. You should totally come! And see if Chris wants to join ;) Maybe ask him to bring along a certain friend too..”
I sighed, dropping my phone on my bed. A party. Part of me wanted to go and let loose, but the other part was still tangled up in confusion about Chris. I hadn’t gotten the chance to fill Willow in on it yet. Was I being ridiculous for feeling this way after one date? I barely knew him now.. he wasn’t the same Chris I’d remembered from my teenage years. He was more.. closed off, like there were parts of his life he couldn’t or wouldn’t let me see. The uncertainty of it all scared me.
I told myself I’d wait a bit to reply to Willow. As I was about to set my phone down, it buzzed again.
Chris: “Check your tree house.”
I blinked, confused. What could he possibly mean? I pushed myself off of my bed and stepped toward the balcony door, pushing it open as the cool evening air washed over me. My gaze shifted to the old tree house in the backyard, a relic of someone’s childhood that hadn’t seen much use in years. With curiosity tugging at me, I slipped outside, my heart pounding as I squinted across into the tree house window that was now glowing inside.
I stopped once my eyes fixated on what was inside, my breath catching in my throat.
The tree house was transformed. There were fairy lights hung around the edges of the roof, blankets and pillows spread across the floor, pizza boxes neatly stacked in the corner, a bouquet of wildflowers lying on top. It was perfect in a way I hadn’t expected.
I looked down from the treehouse and standing there was Chris. His eyes met mine, a small smile forming on his lips as he waved.
"Hey.." he called up softly. "Can I come up?"
I couldn’t help but smile back, my heart doing backflips. “Yeah get up here” I laughed.
Chris climbed up with ease, as I climbed in through the window. He glanced around at the setup, his expression a little smug. I laughed, warmth spreading through me. "This is really sweet, Chris. You didn’t have to do all this."
"I wanted to" he said, his eyes meeting mine in a deep, sincere way that made my heart race. “I wanted to make up for last night” he said quietly. “I’m sorry about the way things went.. I really didn’t want to leave like that.. I felt like I messed up, and I don’t want you to feel like... I don’t care. Because I do."
I studied him for a moment, trying to find the right words. “It’s okay” I replied, though a part of me had been hurt. “I was just.. a little confused. I thought we were having a good time, and then you had to go so suddenly.”
Chris nodded, his face full of regret. “I know. I didn’t plan for it to go that way. But I really did enjoy our date, and I wanted to make it up to you with something a little more.. private.” He gestured to the tree house, the pizza, the flowers. “I figured this was a good place to start.”
I smiled, warmth spreading through me. “It’s perfect.”
We sat there for a while, sharing slices of pizza and talking. It was so easy to fall into conversation with him. Every now and then, I’d catch him looking at me with that same intensity I remembered from years ago, only now, it was deeper, more meaningful. It was like he was seeing me, really seeing me, for the first time. I had to admit, I liked the way it made me feel.
"You know" Chris said, his tone becoming a bit more serious, "when we were younger... I always thought you were going to do something amazing, I was always in awe of you."
I raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Really?"
He nodded. "Yeah. You were always so determined, so driven. I mean, you seem to really be doing things for yourself Y/n."
I couldn’t help but notice the way his eyes softened when he looked at me, and the way he seemed genuinely interested in me. It made me feel seen, like he really cared. And as much as I didn’t want to admit it, I was scared. Scared because I could feel myself falling for him. Fast.
We kept talking, the hours slipping by as we shared stories, hopes, and dreams. The conversation flowed easily, and before I knew it, it was near midnight, and a cool breeze had started to creep into the air.
I shivered slightly, and Chris noticed immediately. "You’re cold" he said, concern flashing in his eyes.
"A little" I admitted, hugging the blanket around myself.
He glanced toward my house, then back at me. "Do you want to go inside? I mean, if you’re okay with that."
I hesitated for a second, but then nodded. "Yeah. My parents are still away, so.. there’s no issue."
We climbed out the tree house window, making our way back inside through the balcony door. The warmth of my room wrapped around us, and I gestured for him to make himself comfortable. Chris settled onto the edge of my bed, his eyes scanning the room before landing back on me.
"This is nice" he said, smiling softly.
I sat beside him, my heart racing a little faster now that we were inside. The atmosphere was different - more intimate, more charged. And yet, there was a sense of comfort that made me feel safe. Chris shifted closer, and I could feel the warmth radiating from him as he gently took my hand in his.
“This place is exactly how I imagined it would be” he said, a playful smile tugging at his lips.
“What do you mean?” I asked, tilting my head in curiosity.
Chris chuckled softly, sitting down on the edge of my bed. “I don’t know.. It just feels like you. Neat, organised, but with a little bit of chaos thrown in.” He nodded toward my cluttered desk, where textbooks and random papers were strewn about. “Like that.”
I rolled my eyes, laughing as I sat down next to him. “Hey, I’m busy! College life is no joke.”
He grinned. “I know. And I still can’t believe you’re studying law.”
I felt my cheeks warm at the compliment, but his tone had a hint of something else - something more uncertain. “What?” I asked, studying his face. “You don’t think I can handle it?”
“No, that’s not it” he said quickly. “I just.. I don’t know. It’s a lot. A lawyer and a guy like me?” He let out a nervous chuckle. “That’s one hell of a combo.”
I nudged him playfully. “A guy like you?” I repeated, teasing. “You’re not giving yourself enough credit, Chris.”
He looked at me for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then he sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly. “Maybe.”
Before I could respond, his phone buzzed in his pocket, breaking the moment. He pulled it out, glancing at the screen for a split second before putting it back without replying. The name had flashed across the screen too quickly for me to see, but there was something about the way he ignored it that made my stomach churn. Was it another girl?
“Everything okay?” I asked, trying to keep my tone light.
Chris hesitated for a beat, then smiled. “Yeah, everything’s fine.”
But I couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t, maybe I’m overthinking.. There’s no way he’d do all of that if there was another girl in the picture.
Chris’s hand was still held in mine and I could see the steady rise and fall of his chest. His presence felt so calming, yet there was this underlying tension, a kind of electricity I couldn't quite ignore.
I shifted slightly to face him, our eyes meeting. For a second, we just stared at each other, as if both of us were trying to figure out what the other was thinking. His gaze dropped briefly to my lips, and I could feel my heartbeat quicken.
“Chris..” I started, not even sure where I was going with it, but his name felt like the only thing I could say in that moment.
He leaned in a little closer, his hand gently finding its way to my cheek, his thumb lightly brushing my skin. The touch sent a wave of warmth through me, and I instinctively leaned into it.
“I’m really glad we reconnected.” he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. His eyes were so sincere, so full of something I hadn’t expected to see – vulnerability.
I felt the same vulnerability rising in me, too. “Me too” I whispered back, and before I could say anything more, he closed the small gap between us.
His lips met mine gently, testing at first, almost hesitant. But when I responded, pressing back into him, it was like something clicked between us. The kiss deepened, his hand moving from my cheek to the back of my neck, pulling me in closer. I could feel my heart racing, but this time it wasn’t out of nervousness or fear. It was because this felt right.
For a moment, everything else melted away. The awkwardness of the previous night, the confusion I had felt.. all of it disappeared as the kiss continued, soft yet filled with an undeniable intensity. It was like we’d been waiting for this moment for years, and now that it was here, neither of us wanted to let go.
When we finally pulled apart, both of us were breathless, our foreheads resting against each other. I could feel his warm breath on my skin, and I smiled softly, my lips still tingling from the kiss.
“That..” I began, still trying to catch my breath, “was.. unexpected.”
Chris chuckled lightly, his hand still gently holding the back of my neck. “Yeah” he murmured, his voice low and husky, “but in the best way.”
I couldn’t help but agree. There was something about being here, in this moment, with him, that made everything else seem so far away, like we were the only two people in the world.
Before I could second guess myself, I looked up at him and smiled. "There’s a party tomorrow night, Willow invited me.. do you want to come? She said you could bring Nate too if you’d like"
Chris smiled, his eyes lighting up in that familiar, charming way. "I’d love to. I’m sure Nate would too."
For the rest of the night, we stayed close, talking in whispers, sharing more smiles, more laughs and even a few more kisses. It was like we were stepping into something new together, something unspoken but full of possibility.
The nervousness I had felt earlier about catching feelings seemed to evaporate, replaced with something even scarier – hope. Maybe, just maybe, this thing between us could actually work.
a/n: are things going to work out???

WHEN YOU GOT HOME, THE LIGHTNESS IN YOUR CHEST QUICKLY BECAME THICK UNEASINESS.
Your bi-level penthouse was dark when you entered, and you felt more alone than ever. Even your day out with Yuna felt strange; deep down, you didn't exactly forgive her, but you felt obligated to accept her apology once she poured her heart out to you. At this point, you didn't even want to check your texts from Giselle, Karina, or Yeonjun about the Instagram stories she posted. You were just as exasperated that she took them despite her so-called social media break.
Even calling your father felt like a chore. You listened to him ramble on about how you needed to do better and strive for greatness. Fix up your resumé. Reach out if you needed referrals. Do more. Make connections. Work harder. Be the person he wanted you to be.
After you showered and settled in to unwind for the night, you heard a knock at the door—five knocks, actually. The pattern was familiar; it was Sunghoon's signature knock. You and your boyfriend came up with it years ago to use on each other, and the repetition made your heart twist painfully in your chest.
You weren't quite sure if you were ready to see him. Not after the argument you both had.
Still, you crossed your living room to open the door because you were far too weak to ignore him.
When you saw him, flushed cheeks from the cold and fluffy hair falling over his forehead, you felt butterflies flap violently in your stomach.
"Can I come in?" he asked, hands shoved deep into the pockets of his trench coat.
"Of course." You opened the door wider for him. "I thought you said you were busy."
"Never too busy for my girl."
Normally, those words would have made you blush so hotly that you wouldn't be able to hide your shyness from him. This time, however, you felt a pang of disappointment. How come he could say that so easily but went back on his words every single time? Not to mention he wasn't even looking at you as he said it.
"Are you staying over tonight?" you asked, hope swelling in your chest when he took off his coat.
You and Sunghoon hadn't slept together since school started, and it was starting to upset you because you hardly got to see him over the summer, too. He was busy with his internship most of the time, and then when you two went to Bora Bora with Heeseung, you barely had any privacy to start anything with him.
"Can I?" He circled his arms around your waist to pull you closer. His voice dropped to a murmur when he added, "I think I'll be really tired later, so..."
You swallowed thickly. That could only mean one thing, right? You hoped you weren't getting your hopes up over nothing. The scalding knot in your stomach grew tighter when you felt his body press against yours.
"Yeah, I still have your pajamas," you said, "and your toothbrush is still in my bathroom."
After leading him to the couch, your boyfriend gave you a foot massage while you told him about your day. You admitted to feeling lonely, and Sunghoon apologized with a frown, although you weren't feeling hopeful that he would do anything about it.
"Is it school that's stressing you out?" he asked in that ever-so-tender voice that made you melt. "Is it The Order? You don't have to try so hard, you know?"
"They only take fifteen people," you replied. "I can't be sure one of them will be me."
"Better you than anyone else. I thought you said you were getting close to Jennie."
"I am, but"—you sighed—"I just feel like I'm gonna blow the interview. What am I gonna do when they ask what I wanna do with my life?"
Sunghoon gave you an odd look, as if the answer was as clear as day. "Tell them you're taking over Mercy West."
"But what if I don't want to?"
"Why wouldn't you want to?"
Because I'm not you, you thought. Because my aspirations aren't living up to my dad's expectations.
Instead, you settled for saying, "I think I'm just stressed."
"I know it's hard." He was nodding in understanding as he pressed kisses to the top of your head. You were so wrapped up in your own head that you hardly noticed some of the tender pecks. "I almost gave up on trying to be my dad's favorite."
You frowned. "Did Sungjin say something again?"
"He's just being a dick like always, but enough of that. Is everything alright with your parents?"
"They're the same as ever. I see mom, like, four times a year—unless she decides she wants to fly me out somewhere—and then dad's always too busy to be around. At least now I can live alone and go see them whenever they're around."
Then, the strangest words came out of Sunghoon's mouth, and he said them as if he was in some sort of dreamlike trance. "What if we just ran away together?"
"We could," you replied, entertaining the idea. "Buy a house in Iceland. Raise a couple of dogs together. We could start our own business or something."
"What kind of business?" He hummed as he thought. "Ah, we could make friendship bracelets."
You barked out a laugh. "Friendship bracelets? That's a business?"
"Yeah, you used to be really good at making them. I still have the one you gave me."
"You do?"
"It's not on me because I'm scared of losing it, but I've kept it in a box at home. Still fits like a charm."
You smiled at the memory, thinking back to the days of your youth when you stayed up all night making those bracelets for him and Heeseung. You thought you had unlocked some sort of hidden talent back then (especially after Heeseung went on and on about how he had never seen such a well-made bracelet, which you realized later was probably the first friendship bracelet he had seen). You didn't realize back then that you wove Sunghoon's with special feelings in each strand.
Sunghoon then proposed watching one of the cheesy reality shows you were addicted to. His hands were wrapped securely around you, and you settled comfortably in his chest. The both of you laid there well after the show ended and your TV screen turned off.
"I missed you," he murmured into your hair.
"I missed you, too—so much."
He was stroking your cheek gently by now—soothing circles that almost lulled you into a trance. The unsteady breath you drew in was almost pathetic.
"I'm so tired of all the arguments."
"I don't wanna fight with you, I just—"
"I know." His hands moved up to cup your cheeks, supporting your jaw enough to tilt your chin up higher. His gaze ran over the curve of your lips before he inched closer. "Let me just make it up to you, okay?"
You could only nod, dazed, before Sunghoon pressed his lips to yours with fervor.
His fingers were lost in your hair while your hands gripped the front of his shirt. Your lips succumbed as soon as his tongue prodded at your lower lip, begging for more. Sunghoon didn't seem to have the mind to take it slow; he wanted everything you offered—all at once. The way his hands dropped to your hips to grab you and pull you to him made you believe he would've ravaged you if he had less patience.
He was like a storm. You could hardly keep up with him, but you wanted more. With a broken whimper against his lips and your fingers now unbuttoning his shirt, you completely forgot where you even were as he cupped your breasts with little restraint.
Each kiss felt like he was breathing life back into you. You had yearned for him to hold you like this for so long, and your relationship was starting to feel hopeless once all the constant fights were going on. Now, finally, it felt like that spark was back.
"Sit up," he ordered in a low voice, and you had no mind to question him once you felt his bulge pressing against your thigh, "and take off your shorts."
Was this really happening? You almost always got him off first. He always returned the favor afterward, of course, but this was a shocking development.
But you weren't complaining.
You didn't break eye contact with your boyfriend as you sat back on your white couch, shimmying off your satin shorts before you did so and discarding them. Five grand and soft fabric, but you didn't even care if Sunghoon was about to ruin it.
His gaze was hungry. You had to pretend your veins weren't melting at the very look in his eyes, and, oh, how they darkened at the sight of your bare thighs pressed together.
Sunghoon rolled his sleeves up and then unclasped his watch in a single motion—without even looking at it—and tossed it aside without a second thought. It was the watch his father had gotten him for his eighteenth birthday. The forty grand watch his father had gotten him—laying on the ground.
His hands pushed your legs apart, rubbing your thighs up and down before his fingers teased the band of your underwear. He snapped it playfully, causing you to press your lips together tightly. You didn't dare show him a reaction in case he decided to tease you by pulling away.
But he didn't. He was too impatient for that now as he slipped his fingers past the band and tugged your underwear down to your ankles, keeping direct eye contact with you the entire time. You kicked it off your feet and watched as Sunghoon bent his head to kiss up your thighs.
Slow, open-mouthed kisses that left you biting your lip hard enough that you were almost afraid it would bleed.
"Please," you whispered once he reached the apex of your legs.
Sunghoon grinned up at you, all smug and cocky. The sight could've brought you to your knees if you were still standing.
"Anything for you, my pretty girl."
He moved your legs so that they were over his shoulders, and you leaned back so that you could hold onto the head of the couch. He pressed a hot kiss to your cunt, and you shuddered at the feeling of his soft lips.
He pressed a few more lingering, open-mouthed kisses to your pulsing muscle before licking a long stripe along your soaked cunt, humming inquisitively with an almost insufferable, teasing lilt.
You gasped at the contact, arching back against the couch as Sunghoon flattened his tongue against your folds and continued lapping at your arousal. You felt like you were floating elsewhere, unable to come back down to reality.
It was almost painful how turned on you were. You nearly cried out when his tongue ran over your engorged clit—sore and throbbing from how badly you needed him.
Your soft, broken moans must have roused Sunghoon to push your hips down and start eating you out with sudden vigor. You felt sweat start to bead at the bridge of your nose, leaving a sheen across your flushed skin.
With the position you were in, you struggled to grind your hips against his tongue for more. You needed more. The pleasure was almost overwhelming, but you couldn't stop yourself from chasing your high.
"How good am I making you feel?" he asked in that silky, velvety voice of his.
"S-so good," you managed to get out through teary eyes. "I can't, Hoon, I—"
He shushed you with his lips still pressed against your cunt. His very breath traveled all the way up your spine, up to your already foggy brain and making it all the more cloudy and dazed.
"Cum for me, pretty girl," he murmured, and he plunged his tongue inside you with no mercy.
You felt like you had burst into flames seconds later. The pleasure racked your body in waves, nearly causing you to double over on the arm of your couch. You gripped the fabric tighter until you suspected you had plucked some loose strings right out.
You had no idea you were crying out in pleasure until Sunghoon was shushing you gently, moving back up right after your orgasm to hold you in his arms and kiss you with utmost passion. You were practically clawing at him, begging him to help you ride out your orgasm, but he wasn't listening.
You pouted, whining, "But I want more."
"Baby, it's late," he said, stroking your hair after he pushed the loose strands out of your face. "I promise we'll have all the time in the world to ourselves soon."
Although you were slightly disappointed, you nodded, wrapping your arms around his neck and letting him hold you tight to his body. He knew that you liked to be a little clingy after intimacy, so even though you were upset that you couldn't pleasure him in return, you still wanted to be close to your boyfriend.
You let Sunghoon carry you to bed. He was always so gentle in how he laid you down properly in your queen-sized bed and tucked you in. Even though your eyelids felt heavy, you waited for him to change into the spare clothes he left at your place ages ago, and then crawl in next to you once he was ready.
He pressed a kiss to your temple, then your cheek, then the palm of your hand.
Sunghoon stroked your side gently, circling his thumb against your skin as he asked you, "Can I ask you something?"
"Anything," you replied too quickly, still clouded by love and the afterglow of your orgasm.
"Why are you still friends with Yuna?" His gaze was intense for a moment before softening again. "I don't think she's... good for you."
Soon after, hot acid roiled in your gut. The chill that ran down your spine felt like nails against a chalkboard.
Everything came crashing down.
"She's just gonna keep hurting you," he continued, carding his fingers through your hair. When all you could do was stare at him, Sunghoon took that as his cue to settle back into bed and nestle his chin into the crook of your neck. "Just think about it, okay?"
"Wait—is that why you came over?" you asked, hardly audible, and you weren't exactly sure if Sunghoon even caught your words.
"Huh?" He rubbed his eyes, his voice muffled with sleep. He wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you down by his side. "Let's just go to bed, baby. We can talk tomorrow."
Stiff and unwilling, your body hardly relaxed in his hold. You complied all the same, though, because your shock was so immense that no words came to mind. All you could do was close your eyes and will your tears away before your boyfriend noticed that you were crying.
Hysteria rose in your throat, but before the hilarity and absolute despair of the situation was about to overtake you, odd numbness filled your body instead.
You were questioning everything—questioning your feelings for Sunghoon, questioning his feelings for you.
And maybe those weren't butterflies in your stomach, after all. Maybe they were moths, fluttering erratically in the direction of a light that would only burn them.

୨ৎ SKATER GIRL ─ HANNI PHAM.
— 004. XXX STREET, WRITTEN.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3:00 PM / 📍 xxx street ⁉️
Hanni immediately walked onto the porch of what seemed like Beomgyu’s house. She quickly moved her hand to knock on the door, waiting for anyone to answer. Hanni hoped the boy she was looking for would answer. She stood there for a couple of minutes, in silence. She reached up to know again, but before she could hit the door, she heard quick footsteps that rushed to open the door.
The door swung open as Hanni's hand was halfway knocking, nearly hitting the person who opened the door. “I’m sorry!” She rushed out and immediately put her hands to her sides before looking at whoever opened the door.
Hanni’s expression dropped, only for her to realize who it was.
Yn.
“Hanni?” Yn asked, staring at the girl with a confused face. She wondered why the girl was standing in front of her door.
“Uh—” Hanni stared at the girl for a moment, stuck in place, before snapping out of the trance. Yn seemed to put her in again.
“Um, Haerin told me this is where Beom lives; I might’ve gotten confused with the houses or something,” Hanni explained as she looked around, trying to figure out if it was the right house or not, and if it was, why was Yn at his house?
“He does, but he is not home,” Yn says, making Hanni's head snap towards her. Yn saw the gears turning in Hanni's head, already knowing what the girl was thinking.
“Ew, I see your thoughts; he’s my brother,” Yn explained without Hanni asking.
Hanni let out a breath she didn’t even know she was holding. "Wait, he’s your brother?” Hanni questioned.
“Unfortunately,” Yn replied sarcastically, not meaning it since she did kind of love her brother.
“Oh.” That was all Hanni said.
She was going to murder Choi Beomgyu. Why? For one, stealing her skateboard, and for two, never introducing her to his sister, who was, by the way, the prettiest girl she has ever seen. "Anyways, why are you here?” Yn spoke, breaking Hanni out of her thoughts.
“Oh, Beomgyu stole my skateboard, and I thought he would run back home with it.” Hanni quickly gave the girl a rundown of what happened. Only to realize that Beomgyu had her skateboard, and she didn’t even know where he was.
“Oh, I can get him home if you want.” Yn said, moving the door wider so Hanni could come in, “You can wait here for him to come.”
Hanni nodded her head awkwardly, muttering a small “thank you” to Yn before walking into the home.
“I’ll be back; I’m going to go get my phone,” Yn says before quickly walking upstairs to her room.
Hanni stood quiet, looking around the home of the Choi's, taking in every single detail in sight, from the pictures of the siblings on the walls to the random handmade mini figures laid out on a shelf near the living room TV. She subconsciously moved closer to the figures, admiring the work of whoever she could assume was Yn. How did she know it could be from the girl—stalking the girl’s account? Duh.
She heard footsteps from the stairs, making her turn in the direction of Yn. “I texted him that the microwave exploded again.”
Hanni's brows furrowed at the word ‘again’, “Again?” She asked, as confused as her facial expression was.
“Oh, yeah. Beomgyu did something to make the microwave explode once; I still don’t know how he managed to do it.”
Hanni snorted at the thought of Beomgyu doing that, finding it funny how that just made sense for the boy to do.
“He’s so stupid,” Hanni says with a light laugh.
“He is,” Yn said with a disappointed look, shaking her head with her hands on her hips as if she were a disappointed mother.
After a couple of minutes of waiting, the front door swung open, making Hanni perk up. “I’m home! And I brought a new microwave!” Beomgyu's voice echoed throughout the house as he walked closer into the house.
Tumblr media
Beomgyu's brows furrowed at the silence. He walked farther in the hallway, close to where the girls were in the living room. "Oh, my god. What if she was dead? What if the microwave got to her?” Beomgyu mumbled to himself, loud enough for the girls to hear in the other room, making the pair turn to each other, holding back a laugh that’s begging to spill out.
“Yn!” Beomgyu yelled out, now walking into the living room where the two girls stood.
Beomgyu looked between them, microwave in hand, now realizing why Yn called him home.
She set him up.
“You set me up?” Beomgyu asked. Acting as if his sister had set him up for something horrible. Which wasn't; he’s just dramatic.
“You stole her skateboard.” Yn speaks as she walks up to the boy, slapping his neck.
“Hey!”
“Hi!” Yn replied, giving the boy another slap. Beomgyu let out a sigh, rubbing his neck to ease the pain.
“Stop hitting me! I’m older!” Beomgyu complained.
“Older and stupid. Give her skateboard back.” Yn told him, pointing to Hanni, who was trying to hold back a laugh from Yn slapping Beom. Beomgyu scowled at Hanni, noticing that she was laughing at the situation.
Hanni noticed this and shrugged, “What? You took my board.”
“But you took my Bob!”
Hanni rolled her eyes with a snort. “And what? I look better in it.” Hanni teased the boy while gesturing to her head. She still had the wig on, and she was right. She did look into it.
Beomgyu rolled his eyes before turning to his sister and saying, “Kick her out before I snatch that thing off her head.” Beomgyu walked away with the microwave in hand.
“Where is her board?” Yn yelled out to the boy. He turned around quickly, pointing to the front door with his body before facing away from his sister to place the microwave on a counter.
Yn shook her head with a smile at Beomgyu’s dramatic exit before turning towards Hanni. “Well, you can steal your board back.”
“Thank you.” Hanni gave Yn an awkward smile before walking towards the door and grapping her skateboard.
“Uh, I’ll go now, thanks.” It was almost like a fuse switch, Hanni immediately going from slightly normal to her normal awkward self, who can just barely talk to pretty girls.
Yn noticed the sudden switch, finding it entertaining more than anything. “So you’re back to being awkward?”
Hanni scratched her hand awkwardly and said, “Yeah, I guess so.” She replied.
“But thanks for letting me wait here.”
“Yeah, no problem.” Yn said with the tiniest that Hannni could not see since she was too buddy, avoiding Yn’s face. "Try not to run over people with your board or lose it to some idiot.”
“Hey! I heard that!” Beomgyu’s voice echoed from the other room.
“Good!” Yn yelled back at him.
Hanni smiled at the interaction, “I’ll try not to. Especially lose it to some idiot.”
“Guys, What the fuck, I’m literally in the other room!” Beomgyu once again yelled from the kitchen with annoyance.
“Shut up, bob boy,” Yn said.
And with that, Hanni slowly moved to the house door. Sending a quick wave before walking out of the house. Almost immediately regretting it.
“I was in the same house as her, and I didn't ask her for a number... again.” Hanni sighed at her stupidity and wasted the opportunity to ask for the girl's number again.

Bruce is beekeeping age, but Artemis would still smash
I respect and agree.
Artemis (thinking out loud): Jason, your dad is at “beekeeping age.” You know what that means?
Jason refused to respond; he already knew where this conversation was headed. But Artemis took his silence as an invitation to elaborate on the slang term.
Artemis: It means he’s an attractive, middle-aged man—usually in his 40s or 50s. You know, the kind of guy who would keep bees and make his own honey.
Jason (monotone): That’s not something he does.
Artemis (undeterred): He doesn’t have to do that exactly. It’s just cute how he’s the cape crusader at night, but at home, he’s such an emo dork—like a businessman and a cool dad. He's good at so many things and I've heard a lot of praise about him when I was on Themyscira if you know what I mean.
Jason pretended to examine his soda can, regretting that he had said anything at all. He wondered how the conversation had even started.
Artemis (enamored): He's tough, tall, and kind of handsome. Little specks of grey in his hair. How old is your dad?
Jason brought his hands together, trying to block out the thoughts swirling in his head.
Artemis: He’s definitely at "beekeeping age." Some Amazons even call him a DILF.
Jason (whispering to himself): I wonder if I killed myself and got thrown in the pit, would I forget this?
Artemis (looking longingly): He reads books, he’s always there for you guys. He protects you like he protects Gotham. I never had a dad, but my mom wasn’t there for me like that either.
Jason refused to respond, taking a long drink from his soda can instead.
Artemis (wistfully): The crazy thing is, none of my former partners—besides you, of course—have made my heart flutter like Bruce and guys like him do. I know you two aren’t close, but a strong man who loves you, supports you, and is conventionally attractive… that's something every woman- I mean child wants.
Jason examined his gun, debating what Artemis would say next while struggling to keep his boiling annoyance at bay.
Artemis (twiddling her fingers, lost in thought): Jason, I think I want to fuck your dad.
Jason (glaring at his ex-girlfriend): No, really? I couldn’t tell!
---------------------------------------------
Later that day, Jason made a surprise visit to Bruce to discuss the earlier conversation. If he was going to live with that moment replaying in his head, the man connected to it would have to hear about it too.
Bruce: She said I was “beekeeping age?”
Jason (staring at his feet): Yes. And before you ask, it’s a term for an ‘attractive’ middle-aged man, usually in his 40s or 50s.
Bruce: How did she know I was in my 40s?
Jason (shouting): Oh my God, that's what you focus on?!
Bruce (alarmed): Sorry, sorry! I’m just thrown off by the fact that she said it... she’s your age, and that felt wrong to hear.
Jason: Yep, yep, yep, she called you a DILF too.
Bruce: What’s a DILF?
Jason covered his eyes, cringing at the word.
Jason: Look it up. Because if I say the full acronym, I might shoot you in your kneecaps!
Bruce shrugged, then pulled out his phone to search for the definition. After reading it, he buried his head in his hands, exhausted by the world.
Bruce (defeated, disappointment tone): Oh, I’m so tired of this. Why can’t people just see me as fairly attractive and move on?
Jason: We’re on the same page about that. I would honestly prefer if people thought you looked like Quasimodo over... everything I heard from Artemis.
Bruce: Yep... yep, I already had to get Selina to stop calling me "Daddy."
Jason nearly vomited at the thought of that word connected to his foster dad.
Jason: This is going to be a full session in therapy next week. Anyway, avoid her forever, or I'm going to lose my mind again.
Bruce: I promise, I’m not going to do anything with her. That may have sounded wrong, but I wouldn’t because it's all kinds of messed up. I’m with Selina—she's my partner. Even if I were single—
Jason shot Bruce a glare, clutching a letter opener. Bruce nodded, cutting himself off before he could say anything that would make Jason want to stab him.
Bruce (ashamed): Have I paid you this month? I have not! Let me get my phone; I’ll be right back!
Bruce hurried out of the office, leaving Jason to collect his bearings. He pondered whether he deserved an extra paycheck after just getting paid last week, then shrugged.
Jason: Works for me.

Ten years after Toji Zenin was born, came a little girl. She was named Tenka - meaning heaven and flower. The clan hoped she would be better than her brother but to their disappointment, it was another failure. The Zenin clan all thought that except one - her brother. While the rest of the clan looked at her as another stain to their name, her brother saw otherwise.
At first, Toji just pitied the pile of flesh that was unfortunately born into the vile clan. But when he held her for the very first time, it was also the first time Tenka ever opened her eyes. Toji feared that she would cry the second she saw him but to his surprise, she giggled as she reached out her dainty little hands to him. It was at that moment that Toji saw her as his light.
Life was not kind to the two siblings as they suffered from the constant berating insults of their own clansmen and the disappointed stares of their parents. Although that did not matter as long as they had each other by their side. Unbeknownst to them, their time together would be cut short on his 14th birthday.
———
"Aniki!" The 4-year-old girl shouted as she ran into her brother's arms. "Look! I made you a flower crown made from the Azlea flowers that grew in the gardens for your birthday!" Tenka beamed at her older brother, proud of the gift she made him. Toji chuckled at his sister, grateful that she remembered his birthday. It wasn’t common for him to be noticed but that was one thing Tenka never failed to do; after all, they were each others’ world.
They walked through the clan grounds as Tenka babbled to Toji about random stuff she thought of. The sun soon set and painted the sky with hues of gold. Toji stopped by the stairs and sat on them while they watched the sunset.
"Aniki? What's your wish?"
Toji's eyes widened. No one has ever asked him what he wished for on his birthday or even any day. For once in his life, someone bothered to know what he wanted. He softly patted his sister's head and spoke. "I wish to see you happy and safe Tenten." Silence swept the air as the siblings didn't bother to speak a single word and enjoyed the peace, but little did they know it would soon be ripped away from them.
———
The eerie silence cuts through the night as an unknown man spoke with the head of the Zenin Clan - the father of Toji and Tenka.
“We’ll pay you any amount you want. All we need is the kid with the heavenly restriction.”
“You can have the girl. She has no use for us anyways.”
The two men shook hands and sealed the deal that would forever change the lives of the two siblings for the rest of their life.
“Let go! Help me! Aniki! Please let go of me!” The cries of the young girl were left unheard as she was dragged away from the place she called home by men she knew nothing about. Marks of blood were left with every step she took from her wounded feet. Tenka struggled and tugged her arm, trying to break free from their grasp but it was all rendered useless.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the estate, Toji lay restless on his bed. ‘Why do I feel like something is wrong…’ he thought. He tossed and turned but to no avail, he still felt wide awake. Minutes passed until he finally decided to take a walk and see if Tenka was awake. It was not out of the ordinary for Toji to feel sleepless at night, which is why he brushed his suspicions aside. Unfortunately, he was sorely mistaken.
The moment he reached Tenka’s room, he realized then and there that he should have trusted his instincts the moment he had it. The room was a mess - the picture frame that held a picture of Toji and Tenka was now shattered on the floor with blood staining it. It seemed as if someone stepped on the broken shards of glass. Having seen this, Toji was now in a panic.
‘What happened?’
‘Where is Tenka?’
‘Is she safe?’
All these questions swirled inside the mind of the 14-year-old boy. Toji never feared anything - not his clan, not his brother, and not even his father, but for the first time in his life, he was terrified. He ran out of the room shouting his sister’s name, not caring whether or not he was bothering the people in the estate. He searched for hours but he never found her. He knew that his last resort in finding his sister was asking his father. He knocked on his father’s study and to his surprise, he was still awake.
“Come in.” a gruff voice came from behind the door.
Toji never liked his father and neither did Tenka but unlike her, Toji never hid his hatred for the man. The two glared at each other the moment Toji stepped in the room. Toji wasted no time and asked. “Where is Tenka?” Their father sipped on his tea, simply glared through his cup. Toji, irritated by his actions, jogged to his father and slammed his hands on the desk. “Answer me old man! Where the hell is Tenka?!” The older man set his cup down and stood up. “I sold her. She was useless anyways.” He spoke as if the girl that was sold off wasn’t his daughter.
Toji stood there in disbelief. He looked at the man before him with pure resentment. “Well? I answered your question, now leave.” The man dismissed his son without even taking a glance at him. Toji left with a heavy heart. If only he listened to that voice in his head, and now he is forced to live a life without the one and only person he cared for.
———
Screams and cries echoed through the room as men strapped down Tenka on a table. She thrashed as much as she could to try and escape her bindings but this all stopped once she felt a painful sting across her cheeks. Her hair was grabbed, forcibly turning her head toward her captor.
"Stop thrashing around little girl. You will never escape, for you will be my little secret weapon"
Tenka could only stare through her tears in horror at the madman who cackled about all the experiments he would do on her. All to form the deadliest human weapon in his disposal.She suddenly felt something pierce her neck and a groggy feeling washed over her body. No longer able to feel her limbs, Tenka had no choice but to slip into the inky void of unconsciousness.
For several years, Tenka was stuck in an endless cycle of suffering just so that she could be the perfect human weapon. The sorcerers that held her captive saw potential in a child that had heavenly restriction, especially one that had no cursed energy at all, because everything comes with a price. The price for having no cursed energy is heightened physical attributes. The group of sorcerers thought that the Zenin clan was stupid for ignoring the children that could open up new opportunities for them.
For days on end, they put Tenka into experiments that would leave her wishing to be in the arms of death. Dosing her with different kinds of poisons so that she could build immunity against it, grueling hours of harsh training that left her with large cuts and bruises, and even going so far as to give her meals that could rival the taste of wet rags covered in vomit.
———
It has been 9 years since Tenka was taken from her clan’s estate and it felt like she had gone through all the 9 rings of hell during those years. Until one day, it seemed as if the gods finally heard her prayers for the past years because they at last brought someone to get her out of the hellhole.
It happened after Tenka had gone through the day’s experiments. As she laid unmoving on the cold floor of her cell, she heard shouts and screams from outside her cell door. “Someone has breached the facility, all security personnel are requested at the ground level immediately!” Tenka heard a guy shout through the intercom. Tenka’s eyes widened to this information. She dragged her battered body near her door and started slamming her fist against the metal. She called out for help, shouting for someone to save her amidst the chaos, despite her dry throat already screaming for her to stop.
Suddenly the door opened and all hope in Tenka’s eyes faded as it was the man in charge of her experiments that stood in front of her. He grabbed her by the collar and lifted her up, a sadistic grin plastered on his face. “You really think you can escape me little girl?”. The man cackled as he threw her to the ground and looked down at her. “You will never leave this place until I’m done perfecting you! Never–!”. His words were cut short as a blunt side of a katana hit the back of his head knocking him out cold.
Tenka looked in fear, unsure whether he had good intentions or not,  at the man that stood before her with katana in hand. He looked as if he was in his late 30’s. He had black hair with gray eyes and was dressed in a black button up paired with black slacks. He crouched down and reached out to her, only to pull away once Tenka flinched. “Hey kid, let’s get you home hm?” He smiled while reaching her hand out to her. Tenka, once hearing this, immediately hugged him and cried in her arms - thinking she was finally saved.
The man could only look at her in pity after seeing her current state. The man walked through the facility, removing anything in his path just to make sure he brought this kid out of the building and into safety.
———
The middle aged man didn’t bother on reporting first to the higher ups about his mission. Making it his first priority to get home and take care of the girl. The moment he opened the door to his home, he was greeted by a gasp. His wife stood there in shock to see her husband carrying a wounded girl. She immediately rushed to them and ushered them in. “Oh my god! Is she alright? Are you injured?”. The man nodded. “I’m fine dear, but the girl… Can you help her?” He asked his wife, looking down at the child in his arms. The wife nodded and went to get supplies to help the young girl. The man walked to their spare room and laid the girl on the bed. He sat on a chair by the bedside, waiting for the woman to come in. The woman came rushing in and immediately tended to the girl.
After tending the last of Tenka’s wounds, the woman sat and tried to talk to her husband on what happened to his mission. “Honey… What happened? Where did the girl come from?” she looked at him in concern as she put her hand on his thigh.
"I just found her there… they were keeping her – experimenting on her. Based on the files I got in their lab, it seems she has been there for 9 years, my love.." The man spoke in a sullen tone as pity paints over his wife's face. He gently but firmly held his wife's hand and looked her in the eyes. "Love.. you can say no to this but… is it okay for you to let us adopt her? This can also be a way for us to finally have the kid we always wanted…" His wife only smiled. "I'm fine with that, my love." The two looked at Tenka with a smile, ready to take care of her as if she was their own.
From that day forward, Tenka's life finally changed for the better. No longer will she wake up to the horrendous cycle she called life for the last 9 years as she was now with the two people who would bring her unconditional love and happiness.

“Relax, Clorinde, Arle’s probably asleep or at work. She’s never at home.” You whispered, suppressing a giggle as you held onto your girlfriend’s hand, ushering her into your house. You and your older sibling, Arlecchino-otherwise The Knave-lived together in a mansion far away from the city of Fontaine.
Clorinde rolled her eyes, as she followed you up to the door. “And if she catches us?”
“I’ll cover you. Don’t worry. Arle’s really nice.”
“Y/N, she’s a Harbinger.”
“Yeah, I’m not proud of her life choices but she’s still my sister and I love her. Come on.” You frowned, feigning disappointment as you put on your best puppy eyes.
A grin appeared on Clorinde’s face as you opened the door. The house was empty and dark, blades of moonlight cutting through the darkness through the glass panes that lined the walls.
“See? Not at home-”
A single lamp turned on behind you, illuminating the dark room. Clorinde inhaled sharply, prompting you to turn around and face your sibling.
“Normally, I would excuse it if you came home after dark, but at two in the morning?” Arlecchino’s voice was low and stern, leaving no room for excuses or possible sucking up.
“I didn’t know you were home today, Arle.” You hesitantly chuckled.
“Just because I am away does not mean I turn a blind eye to your actions.” Arlecchino glared at Clorinde, who held her glare at the Harbinger. “How long has this… thing been going on for, Y/N?”
“...two months.”
Arlecchino narrowed her eyes, furrowing her brows. “I was not aware you fancied the champion duelist.”
“Hey, Clorinde’s more than her title!” You exclaimed adamantly, holding onto Clorinde’s hand.
“I can leave if I am interrupting something-”
“Stay.” Both you and Arlecchino whipped your head at the champion duelist. She shrugged, staying still in her spot, her hand still in yours.
“Oh, little sibling,” Arlecchino sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “The champion duelist? Out of every other Fontainian?”
“Is that a problem?” You scoffed.
“No, no, but you could have done so much better.”
You placed a hand on Clorinde’s shoulder, glaring at your expressionless sister. “Hey! Stop being mean to my girlfriend! You always do this, judging people without ever actually knowing them! If you had a conversation with Clorinde, you’d know that-”
“I was not talking to you, Y/N.”
You could hear Clorinde trying to hold back a chuckle as she placed a hand on yours, rubbing small circles around your thumb to calm you down.
“What’s your deal, Arlecchino? Won’t even let me date? Won’t even let me outside the house without two Fatui agents trailing me?” You scoffed.
“I could care less about how you spend your time. The only thing I care about is your wellbeing.”
“I’m perfectly healthy and safe when I’m around Clorinde. I don’t need you to worry. And if you even care about my wellbeing, you wouldn’t be hounding me 24/7 for my location and status, you overprotective idiot.”
You glared at Arlecchino, and Arlecchino returned your glare. “As your older sibling, I have a say in your safety and wellbeing. Perhaps I am overprotective, but blood runs thicker than water.”
“Well, thanks for your ‘concern’, but I’m pretty safe around Clorinde.” You huffed, emphasizing your point by wrapping your arms around Clorinde.
Arlecchino scoffed. “Stubborn as always, Y/N. When will you learn?”
“Shut up!”
Arlecchino sighed, standing up. “You should be heading back to your room now, Y/N. I’ll see your… partner out.”
“But-”
Your sister’s glare told you that she was in no mood to argue or negotiate, the crimson crosses in her eyes flickering. You rolled your eyes at her, before turning to Clorinde with an apologetic look. “I’m sorry about her. I’ll talk to you tomorrow, okay?”
“It’s alright. You don’t need to apologize.” Clorinde smiled. You planted a soft kiss on Clorinde’s lips, knowing Arlecchino had pursed her hips and wrinkled her nose in disgust. Good. You glared at your sister one last time before heading back to your room.
Arlecchino sighed. “I care for Y/N; they are my sibling at the end of the day. They are my only…true family. I understand that to them it is difficult to find a significant other due to their tie to me and my affiliation. While I will not understand what you saw in my sibling, I suppose seeing their outburst to my comments about you is enough for me to infer that they do care about you deeply.”
“I understand you care for your sibling, Knave. I would expect any sibling to do so. I promise you, I will do my utter best to make your sibling happy and safe; I will protect them with my life. Y/N means the world to me, and I will treat them with the respect they deserve.” Clorinde responded, dipping her head at the Harbinger.
“Good. Good.” Arlecchino held the door open. “You better, champion duelist, otherwise it will be your own back you will need to watch to, not just your clients. Have a good night.”

when you're gone, i come undone
Buck’s never been religious, and he sure as hell wasn’t raised with the brand of catholicism that seems to plague Bobby and Eddie’s every step, but he thinks he can understand why Bobby likes his rosary beads so much. At the very least it would give him something to do with his hands while he sits vigil at Bobby’s side, way past the time visitors who aren’t on a first-name basis with half of the hospital staff would be allowed.
The others had left hours ago, some with kids who needed taking care of and others anticipating early shifts the next day, promising to take over from him as soon as visiting hours started. There was no shortage of people who wanted to be the one to keep watch over Bobby, but the night shift would’ve usually fallen to Athena, if she wasn’t recovering in her own room and allowed more than a couple minutes out of bed at a time to come see him.
There was a quiet devastation clinging to her that Buck had never seen before. Maybe because before there would’ve been the safe walls of her home and the arms of her husband to cover her when she lost her unflappable mask.
That, more than anything, makes him feel utterly helpless. As much as he had been thinking of Bobby as more of a dad to him than his own father for close to a decade, Athena was never his mom.
After the rough patch at the start of their relationship, they’d understood each other in the way only two people who love someone as much as they both loved Bobby could. You hold half of his heart, so you’ll hold your fair share of mine, as well. Maybe that was why he’d taken one look at the longing in Athena’s eyes and promised to stay the night with Bobby. No matter his own desire to never let Bobby out of his sight again, he also wanted to protect the pieces of Bobby that were with Athena, as well.
The only problem is that Buck has never been able to stay still for too long. He fidgets, and he bustles, and he fills silences. At the minimum, it usually earns him a dead-pan look that’s suspiciously drenched in fondness, or his name uttered in gentle scolding twinged with amusement.
He half-expects the latter to fall from the corner of Bobby’s mouth with a single eyelid cracked open to give its best effort at the former, the way it usually happens when they’re in the bunkroom and everyone else is ready to sleep like the dead while Buck is wide-awake and wired like an electric fence.
The image stands in such contrast to the blank slate of Bobby’s unconscious face that it does nothing to soothe his nervous fidgeting. He’s leaning so far forward, trying to summon any sort of conscious intention behind the mechanical rise and fall of Bobby’s chest and every reflexive twitch of his face, that he accidentally shifts the chair, so the bottom slides against the floor and breaks the momentary silence that only exists between the regular beeping and intercom noises that come muffled through the hospital room doors.
Come on, Bobby. Tell me to shut up and go to bed. Tell me it’s late, and I can either close my eyes and actually try to sleep or go make some of that lavender tea we keep for this exact reason. You know you want to. Stilling so as to not miss any minute signs of Bobby’s stirring, Buck’s breath catches tight in his lungs like it used to when the fridge door would be too loud as he tried to sneak past his dad’s sleeping form in the living room armchair when he was a kid. Unlike back then, the disappointment when Bobby fails to stir is a living thing that threatens to swallow him whole. He rides the wave of devastation by opening his mouth and intentionally filling the silence, instead.
“I’m gonna say something, but you can’t get mad at me,” he says. Bobby is silent, but that’s not much different from how he’d usually react to such an opening from Buck, so he takes that as his go-head anyway. “I think this may be all my fault.”
It’s probably just his own nerves, but the air in the room settles around the words with so much  tension that it only serves to spur him on. “Not the- not the fire, obviously. I mean, I had no idea you’d even met the guy Athena thinks is responsible for it, but that’s kind of what I mean, you know? I had no idea.”
His breath is shaky as he exhales, a tremble running up his shoulders.
“I don’t- I don’t think I ever told you, what I saw when I was in the coma. Maybe you already guessed. Some days it’s like you seem to know what’s going on in my brain better than even I do, but it was just. It was a different world, Bobby. Daniel was still alive, so I guess I never had a reason to come to L.A. and join the academy and everything was just…wrong. Maddie was still with Doug, and Eddie never got to meet Carla so he couldn’t figure everything out fast enough to keep Chris, and Chimney…well, Chim was still Chimney but he told me that you were dead, Bobby. He told me you’d been dead for years and it was like I couldn’t breathe.”
He kind of feels like that now, actually. His face feels hot and his eyelashes are heavy like when he’s about to cry but his eyes are dry. For the first time in years, he’s in agreement with his body’s reaction to something. If he were to start crying now, he wouldn’t ever be able to stop, and that feels too much like giving up to be acceptable.
Deep breath, he thinks, in through his nose and pushed out from his mouth. His lips are dry. He keeps going.
“I used to think that’s why I died, you know. Like I was supposed to learn something and that’s the only way the universe could think to get it through my thick skull, I guess.”
“But I think I got it wrong,” he whispers, and it echoes as loud as the beeping from the heart monitor.
“I thought it meant that I matter, you know. Like, ‘they need you as much as you need them! Don’t leave them alone!’ But I was so stupid.” So much for not crying. His day-old stubble is damp with tears. He’s been wearing these clothes for more than 24 hours at this point and he’s starting to feel overstimulated in the way he sometimes does when they’re on a busy shift and don’t have time to freshen up. It occurs to him that Bobby usually notices, like he notices most things that have the potential to bother any of them. This would be the time when he tells Buck to go ahead and take a quick shower while he reheats the food. And Buck would come back good as new, a weight lifted off his shoulders before he could even recognize it because someone cared enough about him to know him better than he did himself.
“I’ve been so caught up in my own stuff since I came back and, God, I’ve just been so happy these past couple of months it feels like I’ve been walking around with blinders on. I didn’t even notice this thing going on with Eddie until it was too late and now he might lose Christopher. You came to talk to me after our last shift and I should’ve -  I should’ve - noticed something was wrong but all I could think about was if I had everything to go stay with Tommy. a-and then something happened with Eddie, and I honestly don’t think I spared you a single other thought that night, Bobby. I was using your recipe to make dinner for my date while your house was burning down.”
He’s tripping over his words, like if he says them fast enough he can reach Bobby and earn his forgiveness first, before the disappointment settles in and bars the gates.
“I should’ve remembered, Bobby. The dream showed me a world where I wasn’t there and you died, and I left it. I came back because I couldn’t live in that world. I refuse to.” Saying the words settles something in him, and he wipes the wetness from his eyes away with the flat of his palm before crossing his arms and sitting up in the chair, body once again posed like a shield between the outside world and the figure lying in the bed.
“Look, maybe-maybe I already missed the chance the universe gave me. But you know better than anyone that I’m way better at third chances anyway.” He tries for a smile, and if he squints really hard he can almost see the muscles under Bobby’s eyes tensing the way they do when he’s about to smile, too.
“You’ve never given up on me before, Bobby. Don’t start now.”
The monitor’s beeping remains the only other sound in the room, but that’s okay. He’s learning to be patient. Bobby knows that, too.

Part 1: Lightning
********************
It all started as a bet.
One lazy afternoon, when Jimin and his friends were casually hanging out in the cafeteria and whining about lack of entertainment in their lives, that's when Jungkook piped in with an idea.
"Let's bet." Jungkook had said.
"Bet on what?" Taehyung enquired.
"Jimin hyung's charms" Jungkook smirked.
"What do you want now?" Jimin whined.
"The first girl that walks in through the door within the next hour, you have to fuck her. Within a month." Jungkook said, "If you manage to do so, the next summer vacation will be on me."
Taehyung groans as if he is very much disappointed with the younger's advances, "Jungkook, are you a dick head? Is that even a reasonable bet? Jimin can fuck her tomorrow if he wants." Now it's the time when Jimin smirks.
"Don't be so impairment. There's a condition." Jungkook defended himself.
"What condition?" Jimin asked.
"You can't approach the girl. She has to approach you and ask you to fuck her." Jungkook placed the condition.
"As if that's any harder." Jimin smirked again.
"Let's see…" Taehyung trailed off, "your one hour starts now."
The next five minutes were quiet. Nobody came into the cafeteria given the fact that lunch time ended an hour ago and most of the students had classes now. But then they heard the glass door of the cafeteria being pushed. That's when you came to their view, to Jimin's view.
You were nothing extraordinary, a pair of baggy jeans with a hoodie, that's all. But Jimin swore under his breath that you're one of the prettiest girls he has ever laid his eyes on. How come he never saw you on campus before? If he really gets to win this bet, it will be a win-win situation for him.
"Jimin likes her." Taehyung commented observing that Jimin's eyes had been stuck on the mystery girl for more than usual.
"She's pretty but the question is… is she easy?" Jimin said scanning your appearance for once. You suddenly looked up from your laptop and your eyes met with him.
Jimin is usually very polite, maybe he is spoiled but he has basic decency. He would always smile or bow when his eyes met with his peers or classmates or anyone for that matter. But something happened when your eyes locked with his. He couldn't smile. He only steared. It's impossible to fathom down the depth of your eyes as you two were sitting quite far away from each other, but for some reason he knew, your eyes were captivating. And then you looked away. And the game began.
For the next twenty days Jimin kept on following you everywhere you went. He totally enjoyed the shocked expression your face would produce every single time you crossed paths with him. He kept on waiting for you to approach him, finally confront him but you did nothing. You seemed to shake it off every time. For the first couple of days, Jimin was scared of being embarrassed in front of his friends. What would they say if they knew a girl from nowhere had been shaking off Park Jimin's advances. But for the rest of the days, Jimin was intrigued.
You clearly know your place. You know you're no match for heartthrob Park Jimin. And Jimin hasn't met a single person who seemed to know how not to cross the line. That's what keeps pulling Jimin towards you again and again.
A month went away within a blink and you still didn't approach him but Jimin has fucked the bet for a long time now. Now he wants you. He wants to know you. He wants to know why you never gave up to him.
Tonight seems to be the perfect chance for the same. You look fucking sexy in your little black dress. And not to mention, you look quite annoyed with the guy that's been flirting with you. So Jimin doesn't miss the chance when you try to get away from the annoying guy. He somehow managed to pull you to the dance floor as well thoroughly enjoying the expression on your face.
As soon as your bodies touch, he got to inhale your scent and fuck you smell spicy. He is sick of floral and fruity scents that girls always wear. You're definitely different and he likes it.
But what he likes more is the taste of your juices. God! How come he couldn't get you under him all these times? Jimin swears, he will make you his tonight and won't stop until the sun comes up.
"I'll drop you home" Jimin pulls you towards the exit. Hands linked with each other, steps matching, heels clicking, everything feels agonizingly exciting to Jimin. He can't help but wonder if you feel the same too.
Fuck! He wants you like crazy!
****************
Jimin harshly pulls you towards the parking lot of the club. You stumble upon your heels two times already but you don't care. You have been waiting for this for a long time now and you didn't even know that you were actually waiting for it. It was a daydream but seeing it taking the shape of reality is completely different.
You keep on staring at his back and don't even realize when you reach Jimin's sleek black car. Jimin turns towards you and pulls you flash towards him, "fuck it! I can't wait anymore!"
That's all you hear before you feel Jimin's plump lips on yours. His kisses are nothing sort of soft, it's harsh, full of longing and hunger. You kiss him back without wasting any time. He keeps on backing you off until the back of your knees touch the cold metal body of Jimin's car.
Jimin pushes his body more onto yours. Once again you feel his bulge on your stomach.
He sucks your lower lip as his fingers push the hem of your dress higher. His cold fingers are still sticky with your arousal earlier. He runs the fingertip of his index finger through your fold once, you shudder with the touch as if he is touching you for the first time all over again.
Jimin parts your folds with his index finger and thumb. And then press on to your clit with the pad of his thumb.
You bite on his lower lip, as a result and he breaks the kiss, "you're so responsive, I love it." Jimin murmurs, connecting his forehead with yours. Two of his fingers effortlessly pump onto you while he turns your body towards the car.
Placing a palm on your back he pushes your upper body down on the bonnet of his car, "as much as I would love to fuck you on my bed, but I just can't wait anymore. I need you now. Will you let me fuck you here in the parking lot against my car, baby?"
You muffled a yes somehow against the car metal. Jimin pushes the hem of your dress higher and he gets the exclusive view of your plump ass. He curses under his breath because of the delicious view. He slides his fingers out of your leaking cunt. Placing both of his hands on the back of your thighs, Jimin parts your legs and gets a view of your cunt, leaking juices.
"You would taste delicious. But that's for the later part of the night." Jimin says. He pulls out your discarded panty from the back of his pants and smells it once. You see it all from the corner of your eyes and your core leaks more because of the obscene scene.
"Open your mouth baby" Jimin orders. You obey him without a word. He stuffs your panty in your mouth and grabs you by your neck.
"We don't want people to hear us, yeah?" He asks, you nod. And then you hear belts shuffling, zip opening. You try your best to tilt your head to get a view but he holds you tight in your place.
"Later, I promise. Right now I need to be inside you or I will burst." Jimin says in a low register. And then you feel the tip of his dick brushing through your fold. Your breath gets stuck in your throat. Your moans get muffled because of the material of your undergarment.
Jimin lines his cock on your entrance and pushes only the tip inside. He waits for a moment so that you can permit him to go. You take the cue and nod a little. Within a second he pushes his entire length inside. You let out another loud muffled moan.
"You okay?" Jimin asks, voice a little soft. You nod again and he takes it as the cue to move faster.
He starts thrusting slowly but then takes up a quicker pace.
"I have been waiting to ruin you from the first time my eyes landed on you." Jimin says between the thrusts.
"Tell me what do you have huh? Why do you keep pulling me towards you?" His thrusts find a rhythmic pace.
"Fucking hell! You're so goddamn tight! But you take me so fucking well! Your hungry cunt eats my cock so good, baby. As if this cunt was made for me." He hits your g-spot and you arch your back because of the pleasure Park Jimin is providing you with.
Jimin feels so good, his thick cock stretching you out, is a different level of pleasure. You would do anything to get this again and again.
Jimin's pelvis hits your ass and that lewd sound works as a catalyst to the entire scenario.
"This pussy! Oh god! This pussy is mine! All mine!" Jimin's voice is husky now and those words coming out of his mouth make you clench around his cock. Jimin feels it too.
"You gonna cum already?" He asks, you nod while letting another muffled moan out.
"Cum on me. Cream my cock Y/N" it sounds like an order and you can't help the coil from bursting anymore. You cum on his cock as his breath becomes uneven. His dick twitches inside you signaling that he is close too.
The thrusts lose their rhythm and become more and more rigid. You know he is gonna cum and he needs to cum because you're gonna faint with this much overstimulation.
Within a few moments Jimin cums too, shooting rope of cum inside you. With one last thrust he pushes his seed in your cunt and then pulls his softening dick out.
You breathe heavily. Your limbs are about to give up. You would have fallen down if it wasn't for the car. Your chest hurts for being pressed down for too long. You try to remove the panty from your mouth but before you can do so, Jimin does it. He takes your panty and uses that to clean his cum running down your thigh and his dick.
And then he pulls you up, directly to his chest. His softened dick touches your belly.
"Let's continue at my place. What do you say?"
Now who are you to deny Park Jimin?

Tumblr media
You rinse out the bowl you used for your oatmeal. It’s only as the back door opens that you notice the roar of the mower’s stopped. You put the porcelain in the dishwasher and shut it as you hear footsteps down the hall. It’s almost ten o’clock.
“Hey, baby girl,” Bucky greets your back as he enters. “I just put fresh water in the hot tub. Might go for a soak myself, try to loosen up these muscles.”
You face him, “hot tub?”
“Oh, yeah. Guess that’s new too.” He chuckles. “Another one of my projects.”
“Right,” you nod. A sudden buzz makes your jump.
You look around and scurry across the kitchen to grab your phone. It’s a message from your mom. But why would she text you? Can’t she just come downstairs?
‘Is Bucky still there?’
You stare at the message and frown. Huh?
“Everything okay, doll?” Bucky asks. Your eyes flick up.
“Um, yeah, erm, it’s my mom...” you shake your head.
“Right, how’s work going for her?” He plants a hand on the counter and leans.
“Work? It’s her day off,” you blink.
“Ah, yeah, she said she didn’t want to wake you up when she left. She got called in. Emergency.” He explains.
You clutch the phone as you stare at him dumbly. Why didn’t he mention that earlier? Well, it’s not on him, you could have checked. But if she’s gone, why is he still here?
“Don’t spoil the surprise,” he says, “about the lawn.”
“I won’t,” you look down and text her back.
“So how about it? You up for a soak?” He asks again.
“Um, I’ll think about it. Just gonna chat with my mom,” you waggle your phone at him and meander to the door.
‘Great. You two can get to know each other.’
Her answer is disappointing. You thought she’d be surprised, maybe confused. It’s all perfectly normal to them. You’re still adjusting. If she’d told you before you got there, it wouldn’t feel so strange.
At the same time, you don’t want to let her down. You can’t just ignore her message. You have to try but you feel like you haven’t even had time to settle in. And he’s not the only thing that’s different. Your room doesn’t even feel like yours.
You stand at the bottom of the stairs. You key in a final reply. ‘Ok’. That’s it. A tepid agreement.
“Hey,” Bucky surprises you again. “Invitation stands,” he wipes his forehead, his bicep bulging as he does, the muscles of his chest straining. “I’m just going to get in my trunks.”
“Uh, I... I’ll think about it,” you make yourself take a step up and climb steadily, refusing to look back.
You stare at the phone. You don’t want to be rude. You’re sure there’s a reasonable explanation for why your mother didn’t mention him. You might do the same in her shoes. After so long being single, she was probably just letting it pan out.
Still, she could have said something when you were on the train.
Whatever. It’s not your place to complain. You’re still living under her roof, rent-free, after years of tuition on her dime and a lifetime of dependency. You can pretend like this is all okay.
You go into your room and shut the door behind you. You wouldn’t have a swim suit in the dresser, you didn’t bother to pack it for college. Wherever your other clothes are, it should be there. You just don’t know where that is.
A tank top and shorts should do the trick. You prefer that to an actual swimsuit. It won’t feel so revealing.
You take out a hot pink spaghetti strap shirt and a pair of black shorts. You switch out your clothes, catching your foot in the shorts and tripping slightly. You stand up, shirtless, leaning on the vanity as you get your balance.
You glimpse your reflection and shy away. You tie the string of the shorts and reach for the tank top. You pull it over your head and check yourself in the mirror. It will do. You hope.
As you come out of the room, another door opens. You peer down the hall as Bucky emerges from your mother’s room. You gulp and flick your eyes away from him. He wears a pair of light blue shorts, so short you might mistake them for briefs. His thick thighs and torso flex with his movement as he approaches, a towel over his shoulder.
“You changed your mind?” He asks as he comes closer.
“Erm, well, I... I’ll give it a try. I’ve never really been in a hot tub, so...” You poke your fingertips together nervously. You don’t want to tell him your mother told you to be social.
“Great, kinda feel like a loser sitting in there by myself. It’s really too bad your mom had to go in.” He sighs.
Yeah, it is. You wonder why he didn’t mention it sooner. Or why he’s hanging around. You guess you don’t really know how things work around here anymore.
“Don’t forget a towel,” he winks as he pats the one on his shoulder. “I’ll go get the cover off and you can come hop on in.”
He brushes by you, his knuckle glancing off you as he does. You shuffle down to the linen closet and take out a towel. You don’t follow him right away.
Your stomach is a flurry of nerves. It’s just the oatmeal. It always sits like a lump. You didn’t think about that, you were just hungry.
You go downstairs and drag your feet to the back door. You come out onto the deck and peer around. The tub sits in the deck, installed where the table used to be. It steams as Bucky steps into it. He sighs and groans, muscles clenching up his back and sides. He must work out a lot.
You look down at yourself. Self-consciousness creeps over you. It’s been a while since you thought so much about it. You tried not to focus much on your body; as long as you liked what you’re wearing, you don’t worry about what’s underneath. You don’t have the most extravagant taste but you have a few cute pieces.
He lowers himself into the water and lets out another drone. He shifts around to face you but doesn’t seem to notice you as he closes his eyes and leans his head back. He takes a deep breath so his chest puffs out.
You set your towel next to his on the small table near the edge. You near and stand at the lip of the tub. Can you just sneak away?
“Hey,” his voice rolls over the bubbling water, “it’s not bad. Come on. It feels great. It’ll loosen you right up.”
You nod and bite your lip. You get down on your butt before you ease yourself down onto the seat of the tub. The water steams and spits just beneath your shoulders. It is nice though it does raise a thick sheen across your forehead.
“Mmm, trust me, when you’re mine age, you’ll need one of these,” he smirks. “So,” he stretches his arms around the frame of the tub, “what’s the plan, doll?’
“The plan?” You flap your lashes.
“For the summer? Beach days with the girls? You wanna invite some friends over? You can have the tub to yourself,” he offers.
“Mm, no, I... I’m looking for work. Uh, probably send out more applications.” You shrug.
“Looking for a job? Ah, right, no more school, huh? Exciting. You got the whole world in front of you.”
“Mhm, yeah,” you reach to rub your neck.
“I’m sure you’ll still have time to hang out with your friends,” he insists.
“Uh, I don’t... I don’t really have any,” you utter. You look away and stare at the fence.
“No? Well, all my buddies are too busy for me. I know how you feel.” He says, “you know, we could be friends.”
“Um, yeah, maybe,” you look at him again as you chew your lip. His eyes snap up from your chest. You look down and try not to show your horror. Your nipples are entirely visible as the pink fabric clings to you. You cross your arms. “You’ll be busy with my mom.”
“Not all the time,” he says “You know, ever since she got this promotion, she’s been too busy for me.”
“Ah, erm, I'm sorry.”
“Why are you sorry?” He asks.
You shake your head, “I don’t know...”
“Mm, I know why,” he tilts his head.
You stare at him in confusion.
“You know a guy like me shouldn’t be kept waiting around. You’re a sweetheart, aren’t you? You can’t help but feel bad knowing I’m left all on my own. Lonely.” He traces a finger along the edge of the tub as he speaks.
“I... guess. I don’t... know? I just...” You look away again. You can hardly stand the heat of the water as it boils your blood.
He snickers and you wince as he shifts around the tub, sliding into the seat next to you. He slips his arm behind you as he does. You shrink down and stare at the deck railing. What is he doing?
“This is nice, isn’t it? Getting to know each other?” His fingers tickle your shoulder as he crowds you. “You know, seems like we have a lot in common, doesn’t it?”
“Um, erm,” you squirm in the seat. “I think... maybe... I should...”
“Relax, it won’t do you any good if you don’t relax,” he girds. “I’m just saying, baby girl, seems like we’re both pretty lonely.”
He leans back into the hot tub and lets his head fall back. You bend your arm, rubbing your other, and fidget. You want to just go but you’re scared to move. You don’t think you’re really afraid of him, he probably won’t stop you, but you’re just all locked up.
You sit there, staring through the slats at the green lawn. The water babbles and your ears pulse. He continues to caress your shoulder.
“Mm, baby girl, come on, just let yourself...” he taps your arm, “lean back, huh?”
You obey. You lean back into the tub and slide down in the seat, trying to mimic him. Your head hits his arm as you recline. It is nice as the jets shoot up your back.
“Wait, wait, you gotta get in the right...” he grabs your thigh and drags you towards him. “..place. Make sure you hit all the pressure points.”
As he moves you, you spasm and cry out in surprise. A jet blows right against your shorts, a stream of water that sends tingles through you. You try to move back but he holds you in place. He squeezes your thigh and kneads.
“Ah, yeah, baby girl, right there? Doesn’t it feel good?”
You squeak as the water hits your clit through your thin shorts. You put your hand on his and wiggle. That only makes it more intense. Does he know what’s happening?
“Please...” you gasp.
“What did I say? Relax,” he continues to rub his fingertips into your thigh. “You’re all tense, baby girl. Let it go.”
Your eyes round and you contort, trying to take the pressure off your clit. It doesn’t help. You puff out and grab onto his arm without thinking. He needs to let go. You can feel a throbbing inside of you. It hurts. Please, stop.
The sensation crests and coils through you. Your muscles clench then release all at once. You squeal in shock and shame as your body twitches. You think you just... orgasmed?
“Baby girl, what is it?” Bucky leans into you.
“I...” you heave. “I-- nothing.”
“Mmm, nothing?” His hand crawls up your leg and over your stomach. He twists and bends his arm, cradling your head and turning you to face him. You shiver as he cups your chest through the wet fabric and runs his thumb over the hard bud beneath. “Cause I think you just came in this nice clean water.” He leans in closer until you feel his breath against your lips, “baby girl, I thought you were going to be good for me?”

Unexpected Connection
Tumblr media
Pairing: Matt Murdock x Fem!Reader
Summary: Your friend convinces you to go to a singles event only for you to meet Hell’s Kitchen infamous lawyer.
Word Count: 2.9k
Warnings: mild swearing, alcohol
a/n: heyyy lol so this is my First piece of fiction. i’m trying to get better at writing fiction and this actually came to me when something like this was actually brought up to me recently lol so i thought hey why not try to write something about it?
——————————————————————————
You’ve been single for quite some time now. Your last breakup was nasty, left your heart shredded; you weren’t too sure when you’d be truly ready to date again. Your friends have been helpful, pushing you to get out there and meet new people. Get your mind off your ex, y’know?
Swipe after swipe. Messages that are painfully one sided. Or men that just want to hook up or want something casual.
“Ooh, I just got this advertised to me on Instagram,” Jill says to you. Jill is a coworker turned friend. You perk up from your desk to see what she was talking about, “a meet and mingle this Saturday at the Refinary rooftop. We should definitely go!”
“Ugh, I just don’t know Jill. All men have done is just disappoint me and nothing has compared to Jam— ”,
“James. I know. But maybe the guy that is way better than James will be there. Your soulmate could be here and you would never know! C’mon it’ll be fun, I think. Plus meeting people in person is way better than on the apps,” she leans up against your desk. You worked as an editor at the New York Bulletin. It was an internship turned full time position after you graduated college. You dreamed of New York one day, and it still feels surreal that this is your reality.
You are sure your friends were tired of you sulking about James. It’s been well over 6 months and he’s probably already moved on while you’re stuck in this trench of dating.
“Okay. Fine. I hope there’s good drinks because Lord knows I’ll need that liquid confidence.” You scrubbed your face.
Jill squeals, “I’m so excited!! It starts at 7.”
——————————————————————————-
“Matt! It would be so fun, talking to beautiful women all night and who knows, maybe take one home!” Foggy hints to Matt about this meet and mingle.
“I’m really not in the cards to be dating right now, Foggy,” Matt says, shuffling through some papers. The mid-afternoon sun beamed through Matt’s office as Foggy stood in his doorway. Matt was trying to get through the last of this litigation before the end of the week and Foggy was not making this easier.
“This might be the opportunity that you meet someone who is actually normal! Not some psycho chick that almost got your ass expelled back in law school. That’s how long it’s been, Matt! Do you know how long ago law school was?” Matt lets out a small laugh at Foggy.
“Yes, Foggy. I was there, I know how long ago it was.”
He never understood why Foggy was so adamant on him meeting someone. Now that the firm is getting some business and he’s gone out more times than he can count as Daredevil, he just doesn’t have the time to commit.
“I’ll go only for an hour,” Matt sighs and Foggy lets out a cheer.
“You’re not gonna regret this, Murdock!”
————————————————————————
Saturday night rolls around. You and Jill are about to head to the singles event.
“I hope I meet someone rich,” Jill says, applying her lipstick. “I just don’t want to work again, y’know?”
“Tell me about it. I just hope nobody is too much of an asshole. I don’t know if I can take another person mansplaining what investing is and why I should do it,” You shouted from the bathroom, spraying some hairspray in your hair. You came out of the bathroom wearing jeans and a plain black t-shirt.
“Whoa girl, what are you wearing? You can’t wear that!” Jill said from your living room.
You eye yourself in the mirror, “what is so wrong with jeans and a t-shirt?”
Jill says your name sternly, “everything? You might meet the love of your life! Show some more!”
“You’re ridiculous. You’re lucky I’m going to this in the first place! Would it make you happier if I changed my top?” You say, taking off your shirt to dig for something she deems more appropriate.
“Atta girl, show the goodies,” Jill says, shimmying her chest. “Uber is downstairs, let’s get going.”
——————————————————————————
You arrive at the venue and make your way upstairs to the roof. It was decorated with greenery and twinkle lights. The place was lit just enough to make it romantic but not where you couldn’t see anyone. Not even 15 minutes into the event, you lose Jill in the crowd already talking to people. You make your way to the bar to order yourself a drink.
“Dirty martini, gin, please. Thanks,” you stand at the bar while you wait for your drink and hear a smooth voice next to you.
“Whiskey, neat, please. Thank you,” you peer over and your eyes meet a beautiful man wearing red glasses. You take a moment to read him a little bit. Gorgeous side profile. Your eyes make their way down to his hands, and meet with a cane. Blind?
“Dirty martini & a whiskey neat.”
“Thank you,” you both say in unison. “I suppose we should cheers?” The man says to you.
“Oh, uh sure, cheers,” You clink your glass against his and a smile breaks out on his face as the glass meets his lips. God damn, this guy looks like the next coming of Christ. He was so unreal looking. He had the jaw sculpted by God himself, decorated with just the right amount of stubble, and his lips. They were so pink and full. The thoughts of kissing him already danced in your head. The faint smell of his cologne twirled around in your nostrils.
“So let me guess,” you take a sip from your drink, “your friend basically dragged you here too against your will even though you told them you were over dating?”
“Wow,” his eyebrows perked up as he took another sip, “how did you guess?” he says, sarcastically.
“Well, considering you look like that,” your hand vaguely gestured to his body, “and women aren’t at your beck and call, I had to assume.”
“Look like what? Oh God, did I forget to put on my pants? You’d tell me that I’m pant less right?” He says frantically, trying to hide his laughter.
“Ha ha, very funny. But was I right?” You raise an eyebrow at him.
“You’re not too far off. It’s hard to do modern dating when everything is on dating apps and eyesight helps that. Phones can only be so accessible. I’m Matt by the way, Matt Murdock.” He sticks his hand out for you to grab. You give him your name as you shake his hand. You notice some bruising on the knuckles and wonder what that could be about.
“Wait like, the lawyer?”
Matt sheepishly nodded in agreement, “that would be me.”
“Where were you when I told a cop to fuck off because I didn’t like how he was speaking to my friend?” You take a big swig of your martini hoping the alcohol would hit you sooner rather than later.
“My law partner must’ve missed the call from the woman brave enough to tell a cop to fuck off,” Matt smirks at you. Butterflies erupt inside you and your heart beat jumps.
————————————————————————
As the night goes on, and after a couple more drinks, conversation between you and Matt flows effortlessly. You two made your way over to a couch to sit and talk. The crowd ebbed and flowed throughout the night. People left, more people showed up, but it never got too crowded. It honestly felt like you and Matt were alone, like the world stood still.
“So you mean to tell me he took your furniture outside?” You laugh at the thought of his college roommate moving all of Matt’s furniture outside.
“Yeah, it was kind of rude of him to do that to a blind guy. He thought it was hilarious though,” Matt smiles at you.
“You guys seemed wild in law school. I bet campus police weren't too thrilled with your shenanigans,” you rest your chin on your hand as you lean a bit closer to Matt.
“Foggy actually got into some trouble with them because he was breaking the school's disability rules. Nothing too major, he just had to volunteer as a part of campus police to pay his dues.”
You laugh at Matt, and briefly look around and notice you and Matt seemed to be two of the other five couples that are still there.
“So, I have a question for you…” you trail off, debating on asking this question.
“No, I haven’t been blind my whole life,” Matt states.
“How did you know I was going to ask that?” your voice has an edge of surprise to it.
“It came in the pamphlet when I lost my vision. Don’t worry about it though, it doesn’t bother me when people ask,” Matt reassures you. “It’s been 20 years at this point.”
“Oh wow, so you had to adapt and relearn the world without your eyes. That’s insane, it must have been tough for you,” you rest your hand on Matt’s bicep. What business does he have to have this much of a defined arm?
“It took some adjusting but my other senses were…” Matt stops mid sentence before realizing what he was about to say.
“What? Like sensitive? I’m sure your other senses had to compensate now that your eyes were out of commission.”
“Yeah, you can say sensitive in a way,” Matt sighs. Silence falls between you both. You fiddle with your glass for a moment until he speaks up, “what do you say we get out of here?”
“Oh, um,” you look around in hopes of finding your friend because you’re still nervous about potentially going home with somebody new. No matter how gorgeous the man is. “I–“ you stammer.
“I don’t want to give the wrong intentions. What I mean is maybe go to another bar. There’s a place two blocks over that we can go to. If you’re up for it,” Matt gave you a small smile of reassurance.
You think for a moment, staring at his face while your heart feels like it’s going to leap out of your body. What the hell, why not? “Sure, I’d like that,” you smile and get up. You let Matt grab onto your forearm for guidance as you walk to the bar to close out. After he graciously also paid for your tab, you walked with him to the elevator.
“What’s this place called? How do I know you’re not going to murder me? You are still a stranger by the way,” you ramble on. Matt laughs at your nervousness.
“It’s called Josie’s. I’ve been going here since I was in law school. And if I were going to murder you, I would have done it already,” Matt leans into you playfully.
“Ah yeah that makes me feel so much better, thank you, Matt,” you joke.
—————————————————————————
The walk to Josie’s is mostly silent, but not awkward. You feel at ease around Matt. His energy is soothing, it feels like you’ve known him for ages. He asked about your upbringing, what brought you to New York. Your typical “getting to know someone” questions.
As you approach the bar, your nerves dissipate as you recognize this is a dive bar. “You seem less tense,” Matt said to you, his hand lightly placed on the pulse point of your wrist.
“Yeah, I love a good dive bar. It’s charming in a way,” you breathe out, leading the way into the bar. You find a seat at the bar for you and Matt to sit. You look around the bar, and notice the pool table in the back. There were old beer signs all over the walls. The lighting was dim and moody. Classic rock was playing over the speakers. Matt must’ve waved down a bartender while you were distracted because two beers are placed in front of you as you sat down next to him.
“I love how you assumed I liked beer,” you tease, taking a sip from your bottle.
“I can order something else if you’d like me to,” Matt's voice breaks a bit.
“I like beer, don’t worry,” you reassured him, “so what are the odds a blind man knows how to play pool?”
“I’ve played. I can’t promise I’ll be any good.”
Your drinks start to hit you more as you speak, “Do you want to make a bet?”
“Betting against a blind man? Low blow,” Matt sucks his teeth teasing you a bit. You giggle, “Fair point, Matthew. Fair point. C’mon, do you need guidance to the table?”
“No thank you, I know this place like it’s my own home,” Matt smiled at you as you both made your way over to the pool table.
You rack up the balls and Matt grabs some cues. “Do you want to break the triangle?” Matt asks.
“Sure, why not,” You bend over, lining up the cue ball with the tip of the triangle. Your heartbeat quickens as you feel Matt’s gaze upon you. You know, for someone who is blind, you sure can feel like his eyes were all over your body. The loud crack of the ball break snaps you out of your train of thought. “Do you, um, do you need help lining up the cue?”
“Actually yes, that’d be helpful.”
You make your way to Matt’s side, telling him solids were his and what balls were lined up with which ones. To your shock, he nails two solids into the sink holes. “I’ll be damned. Blind man is good at pool.”
Matt’s voice is low and husky when he says, “there’s a lot of secrets about me,” which gives you full body chills.
“Well, okay then, I—” you stammer trying to collect your tipsy self. You take your shot and, “God damn it, missed. You’re not hustling me, are you? You said you weren’t good!” you protest.
“Ehh, lucky shot, I guess,” Matt laughs, taking a swig of his beer.
The round of pool goes at a good pace, flirty innuendos fly off the walls. At this point, Matt’s jacket is off and the sleeves of his dress shirt are rolled up showing his forearms. Every passing hour, you feel more and more attracted to him. And you only hope he feels the same.
“Alright, 8 ball is up. Absolutely no fucking way I’m about to lose a game of pool to a guy who can’t see,” you said competitively.
“Well to be fair, you have been helping me line the cues up, you could’ve hustled me and lined up with your balls.” He suggests with a shrug.
“God damn it, you’re so right. Holy shit why didn’t I think of that?!” You line the cue up to the ball and take your shot...and miss. You let out a gasp as you just lost this game of pool.
“That didn’t sound like a good gasp,” Matt teased.
“You’d be correct. Good game, Matt.”
“Good game,” he said your name back to you.
You looked at your watch and realized it was almost midnight. “It’s getting late, I think we should head out. That sound okay to you?” you say, even though you secretly don’t want this night to end.
“Yeah, do you want me to walk you home?” Matt asks you, with a shy smile secretly hoping you’d say yes.
“That’d be really lovely, thank you. I’m just 5 blocks up actually.”
————————————————————————
“Alright, this is me,” you halt in front of your building’s entrance.
“Are you sure it’s not up one more block?” He flashes you a cheeky smile.
“Unfortunately, it is not. I had a really good time tonight, Matt,” you step closer to him, inches away from his body.
“I had a really nice time tonight, too,” Matt’s voice just above a whisper. God, that register in his voice practically made you fall to your knees.
You and Matt are still standing dangerously close to each other as both of your body’s heats mingled together, practically begging for some physical touch. “I should, uh, get upstairs. Goodnight, Matt.” As you are about to turn away, Matt pulls you in closer as your chests nearly touch. Lips hovering over one another as your breath intertwines with his. Your brain is barely forming coherent thoughts, until you whisper, “I think this is the part where you kiss me.”
“I was waiting for the words,” Matt’s hand snakes up to gently rest on your jawbone as he tilts your head up. His lips meet yours with the tenderness and sweetness that you crave so desperately. He pulls away and you both sigh. “That was—”
“Really nice. You’re an excellent kisser by the way,” you let your inside thoughts exist on the outside now. “That was meant to stay inside my brain, oh my god….” You buried your face in your hands as you pulled away from his embrace.
Matt laughs, “I appreciate the compliment, thank you.”
“Let’s do this again, next week? You owe me a rematch in pool.”
“Next week sounds fantastic. If the pool game went anything like it did tonight, it won’t be much of a rematch,” Matt banters with you. You gasp at his remark which makes him laugh. “I’ll call you sometime this week to set something up, okay?”
“Do you mind if I put my number in your phone? I figure that’d be easiest maybe,” You suggest.
“Oh yeah, that’d be great,” Matt said pulling out his phone. You grabbed it and put your name and number in there and handed it back to him.
“Okay,” you smile at him, “I’ll be anticipating your call.”
“Goodnight,” Matt whispers your name, dripping from his lips like honey. You kiss his cheek and head upstairs. As you close the door, you squeal in excitement.
Matt stood outside your building for a moment, listening to it shut to ensure you made it in okay. As he was about to step away, he heard you squeal to yourself in excitement, which made him laugh to himself.

About My Man - Part 3/5
Tumblr media
Fandom / Pairing: Jujutsu Kaisen / Choso x f!reader, Suguru x f!reader
Rating: NSFW/Explicit - MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
Content Warning: Fluff, language, hurt/comfort, slight making out
Chapter Summary: As you begin to accept the weird turn of events as your new reality, you prepare yourself to face some less-than-comfortable encounters.
Author’s Note: Umm so, I got carried away and now this is a 5 part story instead of the 3-part I’d initially intended. I realised it didn’t have enough build up and drive for the characters to act the way they do. Hope you enjoy it.

Song Dedication: Stupid by Vincent Blue
Part 2 | Part 4
Tumblr media
When you wake up the next morning, you feel relatively calm and… bored. You check your phone, expecting a text from Choso like he usually would, only to find nothing at all.
Usually he’d hit you with a ‘reached home safely ma’am!’ or ‘i know you miss me already, sleep tight’ or literally just a bunch of stickers and gifs when he was too tired to type.
So you take it upon yourself to text him.
You: hey Cho. Hope you reached home safe.
You stare at your text and all you can think is how clingy you sound. But you don’t get time to take that train of thought any further when you see the three dots indicating that he’s typing.
Cho <3: Yup.
Oh.
You wait, staring at your screen for about 5 minutes.
Maybe he just woke up? Maybe he’s still trying to figure out what to say?
You’re only met with disappointment as he goes offline. You subconsciously trace your fingertips over your lips. Yeah, that was definitely not a dream. Choso had, in fact, almost kissed you. You feel a pang of disappointment in your heart.
You realise you no longer had any plans for the day, since you were relying on Choso to make one. You quickly drag yourself out of the puddle of self-pity and your bed. Might as well make the most of a Sunday by taking yourself out on a date.
Looking at yourself in the mirror, you fake a smile so wide that your cheeks hurt and realise that Suguru must’ve easily seen through it and figured out how annoyed you were. You give yourself some words of encouragement, “Get your shit together man. At this rate, you’re gonna end up as the single cat lady… and NOT the cute type.”
To make things easier, you put a ban on thinking about crushes and love-life for the day during an unnecessarily long shower. You grab a bag with all your essentials, text Luna about your whereabouts and make your way to the local cafe you frequented almost every other week.
“Hey! Look who showed up finally!” The cafe owner, Samantha smiles as she welcomes you.
“Hey Sam, been busy with work… you should know I’d never forget this cafe of all places!” you reply, smiling sheepishly.
“Ha ha, I believe you!” Sam has a heavily resonating voice that makes even her still empty cafe seem lively, “the regular?”
You nod, “Oh! Please make it take-away. I wanna sit in the park.”
“You got it!” she says as she vanishes in the back. You notice her rush around to decorate the glass shelves with freshly baked goods.
“Sam! Have you already prepared the Tiramisu, by any chance?” you ask her.
“Sorry love, that’s gonna take some time,” she yells back at you from the kitchen.
“Okay, no worries. I’ll come back for it some other time.”
Sam prepares your order in less than 10 minutes. You bid her goodbye as you merrily make your way to the park in anticipation of the first taste of your coffee and pain au chocolat, the best in town if someone were to personally ask you. You take the smallest sips, trying hard not to finish your coffee before you even reach the park.
Once you finally reach your destination and settle down on one of the wooden benches, you take a book out, plug your earphones in and take the first bite of the still warm pastry –  heaven.
Your strategy to attain a peaceful solo date is a total flop – this realisation hits when you find it hard to concentrate even with classical music blasting in your earphones, reading the same sentence over and over till you finish eating the pastry.
Well, nevermind.
You close the book, placing it on the bench. As your mind wanders back to Choso, you change the playlist to pop to make it more ‘upbeat’.
Anything but Choso and Suguru, please!
You take another sip as you close your eyes, basking in the sun, resting your head on the backrest. The warm morning sun feels good, though you know you only have another half hour before it goes from pleasant to hellishly hot.
After about 5 minutes of direct sunlight dancing on your skin, you feel shadowed. You squint your eyes open to see a very sweaty Suguru smiling down at you, blocking the sun’s rays.
“Stop standing there like an eclipse,” you take your earphones out to speak to him.
“Good morning, ex-girlfriend.”
You give him another one of your fake smiles.
“May I?” he points at the space next to you. You nod as you move further to one corner of the bench, picking up your book in one hand with the coffee cup in another hand. The aroma of even the almost empty cup is so strong that it reaches him the minute he sits down.
“Cinnamon?” he asks in surprise. You nod. “But you used to hate cinnamon in coffee.”
“I like it now.”
“Hmm…” he pulls out the napkin tucked into the elastic of his sweat pants to wipe his face. His buff muscles glisten under the sunlight and you see his tattoos clearly for the first time. They still cut off at the bicep where his t-shirt begins and you wonder where the tattoos really end.
You snap out of it asap, feeling the need to make conversation to compensate for the staring, “I remember when you had your first tattoo.”
“This one?” he lifts the left corner of his shirt up till you see the traditional japanese design of a dragon on his outer oblique muscle. You turn away to finish your coffee, not allowing yourself to stare for too long.
“Yup,” you chuckle, remembering the memory – you’d forgotten the design but not what had happened. Suguru desperately wanted the tattoo but had to hide it somewhere his mother wouldn’t notice and you were the one to suggest its placement.
“That’s the only one that stands out on its own. I wish I’d endured mom’s scolding for a better placement,” he laughs, “it’s so pretty, shame it stays so hidden.”
‘Yeah, just roam around shirtless. Apparently you’d love the extra attention on you!’ You refrain yourself from saying it out aloud.
You notice a few women passing by, stealing glances at the man sitting next to you. Suguru still has the same effect, turning heads way too frequently.
“It's still the same… everyone still stares at you as if you’re some Greek god,” you observe as you chuckle.
“Everyone but you,” he states.
You turn to look at him and he's resting an arm over the backrest and his head tilting on his arm, looking at only you.
“Suguru,” you warn him.
“Yes?” He smiles.
“Stop it. I don't know what you’re trying to do but stop it.”
“Why? You liked me before. You'll like me again!” He states smugly. You raise an eyebrow at him.
“Wait, that came out wrong. I mean, we both used to like each other, what's the harm in trying again?” He asks as he sits up straight.
“There's no again. Are you done exploring your options?” You try your best not to let the annoyance slip into your voice.
“That– I was young and immature!” He defends.
“And I've moved on,” you take a deep breath, “Look, if it's friendship you want, then sure, we can try being friends… but I doubt there can ever be anything more.”
“Friends…” he contemplates, “okay, we started out as friends before anyway.”
You roll your eyes as you shove your things in your bag and get up in a haste.
He grabs your wrist, “Wait, wait! I'm kidding! Friends it is.”
“Okay, cool,” you nod before leaving him on the bench anyway.
He takes steady steps behind you, “Where did you get that coffee? Smells delicious.”
“It's just around the corner. About 500 metres from the park's entrance,” you reply, still walking ahead of him. When you stop near the trash can to discard the empty cup, you hear him call your name again.
“Take me there?” He asks, grinning sheepishly at you. At that moment, you decide to cut him some slack. You could catch a break too, so you start walking in the cafe’s direction once again.
“Okay. Follow me.”
At the cafe, after Sam smirks at you when she sees you enter with such a ‘hottie’, you dismiss her hopes as you reaffirm that ‘he’s just a friend’ while ordering for him.
“I’ll tell you later. Long story,” you whisper to her as you take the cup and pastry to your table where Suguru had been waiting for you.
This time, you actually catch up with Suguru properly. You tell each other about your jobs, a summary of the past 5 years in about 15 minutes and finally end up on his talk with your mother, who really did try matchmaking when she gave him your landlord’s number.
“I KNEW IT! She denied it when I asked yesterday!” you complain.
“She always knew you had a crush on me,” he laughs.
“Well, guess I need to update her on my love life,” you joke back.
“So, what’s the deal with this Choso guy anyway?” He tests the waters.
“I don’t know yet. I just know that I like him a lot… so much so that I get lovesick when he’s not around,” you bite your tongue, trying hard not to talk too much since it felt weird to tell Suguru about this of all people. Still as he persists, you tell him about the night you lied about the fake relationship. He listens calmly.
“What about him? Does he feel the same way?” he asks when you’re done.
“Maybe?”
“You’re settling for a maybe? You fought me for a confession by grabbing my collar and threatening to punch me,” he scoffs.
You feel your cheeks get hot with embarrassment at the memory – one that is just as fresh in Suguru’s mind as it is in yours because it was the angriest he’d ever seen you.
“Clearly, I no longer use that approach,” you clear your throat. He simply shrugs.
“Well, we almost kissed yesterday,” you feel the need to defend yourself.
“Wuss… I actually did kiss you,” he retorts calmly.
“And you chickened out too… so,” you scoff, getting slightly annoyed, “right, maybe I should just give up on everyone since I keep falling for the same type each time.”
“Hey…” he reaches his hand out to place it on top of yours, “I didn’t mean to– I’m sorry.” He squeezes your hand and you feel a bit calmer.
“Suguru. I’d like to be your friend but just… please, let me ease into it slowly,” you sigh, defeated.
“Okay,” he smiles, holding your gaze.
You look down as you slowly pull your hand away in a way that doesn’t seem too harsh. He drinks the rest of his coffee in silence. The walk back home is quiet as well.
“Right, then I guess I’ll see you around,” you finally speak as you reach in front of your apartment door.
“Yes you will,” he says as he takes a few steps more till he’s leaning against his apartment door.
“Bye,” you smile as you open your door.
Suguru’s in no rush, still leaning lazily, waving at you till you’re out of his sight. It’s only when he hears your door lock click that he unlocks his door to go inside. Something he’d never admit out loud was that maybe a little part of him was hoping you’d call him over to talk some more.
~~~
You give Luna a brief summary, catching her up on your lore and for the first time, she admits how ‘fucked’ you are.
“Have you heard from Choso?” she asks.
You check your phone, “Nope.”
“Talk to him after work tomorrow,” Luna suggests. You nod. You were planning to if he doesn’t keep on ignoring you.
You decide to ignore the aches of your heart because you really needed to clear your head. So naturally, you binge about 10 episodes of Love Island for the rest of the day.
By midnight, you feel your eyelids get heavy but your brain still doesn’t feel sleepy. Instead, you find your consciousness drifting to a distant memory that still seemed as vivid as if it were just yesterday.
~ Flashback: 5 Years Ago ~
“Well, I called my mom and she said she’s not exactly ‘sure’ when they’d return,” you sigh.
“Hmm,” Suguru doesn’t look up from his books.
“I don’t know why your mom asks me to babysit a grownass man,” you joke as you sit on the corner of the table next to his textbooks.
“You were the one wanting to hang out with me,” Suguru mumbles, still concentrating on his reading.
“Suguru please, you’re boring me to death,” you complain.
“Unlike you, I really do need to study. I can’t just study everything the night before exams and get perfect grades.”
“SOMEBODY’S jealous,” you giggle. He brings the palm of his hand over your mouth to shut you up. You bite his skin lightly and he retracts his hand immediately. He finally looks up at you and you pout at him.
“Fine! What would you like to do?” he asks, closing the book shut.
“I don’t know,” you giggle.
“God, you’re annoying,” he says as he stands up in front of you.
“It’s an antidote for your boring ass,” you mock him back.
“My ass is anything but boring,” he scoffs.
“Yeah, I have noticed… just like every other girl in school,” you laugh.
“SOMEBODY’S jealous,” he mocks you.
“Me? As if! When hell freezes over,” you roll your eyes at him. He moves closer to you.
“You realise you make it so obvious,” he snickers as he leans closer, caging you by placing one hand on either side of you.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you lie, a smile still plastered on your face as you stare into his eyes. You see his intention change in his eyes.
“Don’t look at me like that,” he warns you softly.
“Like what?” you ask, feigning innocence.
“Like you’re in love with me,” he’s blunt.
Your breath hitches before you manage to speak, “And what if I am?”
He stares at you, figuring out whether you were still teasing him or actually managed to confess your feelings that he was already so painfully aware about.
He gives you a quick peck to gauge your reaction – you’re stunned… and bushing, but you don’t pull back. So he leans back in as he captures your lips in a kiss once again. You open your mouth slightly, not knowing what to do.
As he slowly slides his tongue in your mouth, you let him take the lead. You let him guide you as you go from someone who’d never been kissed to someone who learnt from the best. The rush of your first kiss takes over, making you feel more confident as your lips chase his plump ones, mirroring his ministrations.
Suguru’s hands move down your sides till he’s cupping your ass before tugging at your thighs. You hook your legs around his hips and your hands around his shoulders when his hands grip your waist to lift you off the table with ease. He walks you to his bed and your lips only part for a split second when your back hits the soft mattress.
Your arms are still wrapped around his neck before he pulls back, his chest heaves when he takes shallow breaths. You bring one hand to cup his face as you look at him so lovingly that it makes his knees feel weak.
“Fuck,” he mumbles as he pulls his t-shirt off in one swift motion. Your eyes wander down to his toned torso and to the plastic film that’s covering his still healing tattoo. He intertwines his fingers with yours, kissing your knuckles before pinning your hands above your head. Burying his face into your neck, his teeth tug at your sensitive skin, causing you to let out an involuntary moan.
He brings one hand under your t-shirt, pulling your bra down to play with one of your hardened nipples. This new sensation makes your brain go hazy as you moan his name out loud.
He finds himself losing his composure as he grinds his hips against your crotch. You feel something hard rub against your clothed cunt each time he repeats the movement. You wish he'd tear off your clothes in that very instant. As if he can read your thoughts, Suguru pushes your t-shirt up over your chest.
Your eyes meet as he grins at you, yanking your bra down to expose your tits before his puffy wet lips close around one of your nipples and he sucks hard on the bud. You grip his hair roughly, “Suguru!”
“Ah– fuck,” he groans as he moves up to look into your eyes once again before kissing you hastily. Your sighs and restricted moans get lost on his tongue. He parts again, allowing you both to catch your breaths. You’re not sure for how long you’d been kissing but with every second that passes, you feel this insatiable hunger for more.
His lips sucking purple-blue claims over the flesh of your boobs makes your brain short circuit at the amount of pleasure taking over your senses. Your skin burns hot when his hand snakes down to unbutton your pants. You feel his hand shake as he dips it inside your pants, his eyes almost rolling to the back of his head when he realises how wet you are.
“Shit– you’re so hot,” he swipes two fingers over your clothed cunt, pressing firmly against the wet fabric. You furrow your eyebrows as your head luls back and your back arches.
“Hey– hey,” he grabs your chin to make you look at him once again. He devours your lips once again, making your skin tingle as he bites your bottom lip.
“Suguru… I love–”
You pause and your eyes widen when you hear the main door open before you have a chance to finish your sentence. It’s clear that Suguru hears it too as he gets off of you instantly. He finds his t-shirt to put it on again and you rush into the bathroom to adjust your clothes when you hear footsteps outside his room door.
You hear his mom call your name outside and Suguru saying something but it's far from coherent — their voices drowned out by the rapid beating of your heart. You look in the mirror to fix your appearance before slowly opening the bathroom door.
“There you are, dear! You mum’s waiting downstairs,” his mom smiles at you and you notice Suguru already had his book opened, pretending to study as he sat on the chair.
“Oh yeah, alright. See you later,” you feel hot under her gaze.
“Bye, see ya,” Suguru looks at you and you rush downstairs.
“Everything alright? You look a bit sick,” you mom worries as you walk past her to the main door.
“Yeah, just tired,” you lie as you lead her out the door, carrying the shopping bags she had with her.
You don’t hear back from Suguru as he actively avoids you everywhere, so much so that he switches gym time to evade you. You text him but get no reply nonetheless. You feel disheartened and decide to give him some space… for about two weeks. The feeling eats you from inside – if you were going to be rejected, it’d better be a clear rejection without a speck of doubt.
So you end up at his house, ringing the doorbell when you know he’d usually be home from class. You press the bell once again when you get no response. As you start to wonder if this was a futile attempt, the door clicks open and Suguru peeps out, headphones hanging around his neck.
He looks surprised, not expecting you to show up at such a random time. But then he opens the door for you, the colour returning to his face as he prepares himself for the confrontation.
“Mum’s not home,” he speaks as he closes the door behind you.
“I know. She went out with my mom,” you make your way to the living room couch where his video game console is laid out.
“Would you like to play?” he asks as he settles next to you, picking up the console.
You stare at him in disbelief. One, you were already angry at him for ghosting you after your FIRST kiss, of all things. Two, seeing him playing a video game without a care in the world, while you had been miserable for the past two weeks, makes your blood boil.
“So, I guess we’re just going to avoid whatever’s going on between us?” you ask.
“Nothing’s going on between us,” he mumbles, eyes not sparing you a glance.
This was the first time you’d seen Suguru act this way. You’d never seen this side of him, and it makes you feel even more queasy.
“Suguru,” you warn him, “talk to me.”
“What’s there to talk abou–”
Before he gets a chance to finish his sentence, you’re almost pouncing on him, throwing his console to the ground before grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.
“WHAT’S THERE TO TALK ABOUT?” you yell, absolutely livid. Your grip on his shirt tightens as your knee slightly slips off the couch. Suguru holds you in place, his fingers digging into the flesh of your waist.
He sighs as he calls out your name, scared of your wrath for the first time as the anger burns in your eyes, “Please calm down.”
Your fingers are still tightly gripping his shirt, knuckles turning white, but your head slumps down as tears threaten to escape your eyes. It’s a premonition – wherever this is going, you already know it’s not going to end well.
“Can I explain?” he speaks softly as his hands come up to your wrists. You loosen your grip as you nod and he holds your wrists down softly, not letting them go as he continues, “I feel like I’ve fucked up our friendship. I knew you had a crush on me… it was a mistake, I– I never should’ve kissed you.”
“How can you be so cruel, Suguru? You knew yet you still… you’re the meanest,” your voice cracks.
“This is exactly what I wanted to avoid. I knew you'd be like this… I just don’t want to break your heart. You know I’m not meant for serious shit,” he shakes his head, his thumbs rubbing over your skin in a not-so-consoling manner, “As much as I love y–”
“Bullshit,” you sniff.
He lets out a heavy sigh, “I know you. I don’t want to break your heart.”
“Then you shouldn't have kissed me!” you hit his chest with two weak punches.
“Because I’m still attracted to you! I just can’t be who you want me to be. I'm holding myself back because I don't want to treat you as if you're just another hook-up,” his fingers wrap around your wrists firmly this time, as if he’s preparing for you to hit him again.
You laugh in disbelief, “Is your brain really in your fucking dick? You know what? I’m so glad your mom interrupted us that day.”
“I’m sorry, okay? I just don’t want to make promises I won’t be able to keep… especially not with you,” his hands soften when your grip loosens as he tries to interlace his fingers with yours.
You feel your hands shake and take a deep breath. His lips brush against your fingertips lightly before he places a kiss on the back of your hand as he rests his forehead against yours.
He lets go of your hands to pull you closer into a hug instead – his arms wrapping around you in such a comforting way that it almost tricks you into believing everything is alright. But there it is again; he says your name as if it's an apology, whispering it so delicately in a desperate attempt to disarm your fury.
Despite the tears in your eyes betraying you, your face looks indifferent as you push him away slowly. You look him in the eyes as you dictate, “Don’t you ever dare talk to me again.”
 ~ End of Flashback ~
You wake up to the blaring sound of the alarm ringing incessantly as you try to fish your phone out from where it was lost somewhere in the blanket. By the time you manage to find it to snooze it for 10 more minutes, you’ve already wide awake.
As you make your way to the living room, Luna has laid out breakfast for two, already dressed up to leave for work.
“Good morn– wow,” she raises her eyebrows as she looks at your tired face.
“What?” you ask as you rub your eyes.
“Did you not sleep last night?”
“I did… not very well though,” you yawn as you sit on one of the chairs.
“Eat. You’ll feel better,” she hands you a plate of her famous omelette and toast.
You like being babied by Luna like this – something she had been doing for the past 4 days. You smile at her, the gratitude visible in your teary eyes.
“Has he talked to you yet?” she asks you. You shake your head, stuffing your mouth with the delicious food.
“He’s been acting weird all week… I asked Satoru but he doesn’t have a clue either… Was Choso really that affected by the Suguru thing?” Luna wonders.
“Damned if I knew,” you mumble. It was Thursday and Choso had successfully avoided you the whole week – speaking only when necessary and diligently skipping the smoke and coffee breaks at work.
“Just talk to him. I kinda feel bad that I was the one who started the lie,” Luna sighs.
“No… I’m just giving him space. He can talk to me whenever he wants,” you shrug, making the weakest excuse. In reality, you were worried about rejection for real this time. You were way too familiar with the telltale signs of an incoming heartbreak.
“I’m not home tonight so call him over,” Luna insists.
“Where are you going?” you ask.
“Satoru invited me over for movie night,” she giggles and you raise your eyebrows.
“Are you guys–”
“Nothing serious. We’re both hot and horny so we figured, why not?”
“Since when?” you enquire further, surprise visible on your face.
“I didn’t wanna bother you as it wasn’t anything important. You’ve not been exactly– you know… with this whole Choso Suguru ordeal,” she confesses.
“I’m sorry… I feel selfish for not even checking up on you sooner,” you apologise.
“It’s fine. We can gossip later. Just sort it out tonight,” she smiles at you.
You get up off your chair, swallowing the last bite hurriedly, and move closer to give her a kiss on the cheek, “Yes mother.”
“Now go get ready… you woke up really late,” Luna checks her phone for the time.
“Actually, I asked them to let me work from home for today,” you admit, guilt lacing your voice.
“Oh my god! You’re trying to avoid him too!” she gasps. You groan as you collapse on the sofa.
She grabs her things to leave, shooting a warning glance your way, “Tonight. Do it tonight!”
After you hear the door close when Luna leaves, you lie still for another 5 minutes, staring at the ceiling. You check your phone for the time – you had 15 minutes to log in for the day.
You lock your screen as you sit up, only to hastily open it again to send a text that was way overdue before making your way to the bathroom.
You: stop avoiding me. Come to my house after work.
The minute you’re done with your shower, you run straight to your phone, with your towel still wrapped around you as tiny drops of water drip on the floor where you stand. You open his chat to see what he had replied.
Cho <3: Ok.
Jeez. So dry.
You sigh as you throw your phone to the side and get ready for work. The quicker you finished your tasks for the day, the more time you’d have to prepare what you wanted to say to Choso.
The rest of your day is pretty ordinary. Focusing solely on work pays off when you finish everything by 5pm, with another hour left to log out. It’s only when your stomach growls loudly that you realise how hungry you’d been since you skipped lunch.
And that’s how the last hour goes by, cooking pasta from scratch and feasting on it all till you’d licked the whole dish clean. When the anxiety starts stirring up, you clean and dust the whole house to keep yourself occupied.
You check your phone again. There’s no text from Choso but it’s 30 minutes past office time so you figure he might be on his way. You take a quick hot shower to relax yourself and your doorbell rings right as you finish dressing up.
Stumbling on your feet as you quickly pull up your sweatpants, you run to the door. You take a deep breath before swinging the door open.
“Hi,” you smile at Choso, a sense of relief washing over because you’d half expected him to make some excuse and avoid coming over tonight.
“Hi,” he smiles back awkwardly. You’re about to invite him in when you see Suguru walk to his door with four huge grocery bags in both hands.
He has his phone pressed in between his ear and his shoulder. “Right… hmm, okay. That’ll work too i guess…” he continues speaking to someone on the other end. You wonder if he ignores you two to not make it awkward but your doubt is cleared up as soon as he mouths a ‘hi’ with a bright smile, still trying to wave at you with occupied hands.
Suguru looks so funny you almost let out a laugh but manage to hold yourself back, simply waving back at him. Suguru doesn’t bother looking at Choso, actively avoiding him as he quickly unlocks the door to his apartment, leaving the two of you alone again.
You refocus your attention on Choso once again, whose face isn’t as relaxed as it was moments ago.
“Come in,” you move to the side to make way for him but he doesn’t enter.
Instead he holds up the key in his hand, waving it in front of you, “Wanna go out for a ride instead? The weather’s nice.”
Your face lights up at the idea. You excuse yourself to quickly grab your phone, house keys and shoes as you follow behind him, making your way to his bike in the parking lot.
“I see you got your bike back from Satoru,” you make conversation as he puts on his helmet.
“Yeah… took forever to get his car repaired,” he chuckles. He turns to you to put the spare helmet on your head.
“How did you know I'd agree?” you ask him as he fastens the helmet securely on your head.
“I didn’t,” he looks at your face briefly before getting on the bike, “I was contemplating it myself.”
“So technically I can still say no and go back upstairs?” you question, your soul itching for answers.
“Yea, but I know you won’t,” he smiles as he waits for you, “Cause I know you.”
You feel annoyed. He’s not wrong. You agreed for the ride without even thinking about it.
You climb up as you sit at the edge, maintaining a gap between your bodies, “Then do you know how I’m feeling right now?”
“Annoyed,” he answers.
“Correct.”
He grabs your wrists, guiding them around his waist, pulling you closer to eliminate the space between, “Hold tight. Let’s get you some ice cream first.”
Your cheeks grow warm as you hug him tight from behind.
How can you be mad at him when he knows a hundred different ways to make you melt?
You ride in silence, the evening air dancing on your skin and you close your eyes as he speeds away on the open highway, taking the long route to your destination.
It’s so simple and mundane, yet not being locked up in your room makes you feel a lot calmer than you were a few hours ago.
Although you try hard to deny it to keep yourself from feeling so emotionally dependent – in reality, your mood changed the moment Choso had pulled you closer, his scent infiltrating your senses completely.
You open your eyes when you sense him park the bike. He gently takes off your helmet when you get off and you smoothen out your hair while he takes his off.
It’s only when you both sit in a corner of the cafe with your ice creams when he finally speaks up, “I was surprised to not see you at the office today.”
“I felt tired so I decided to work from home,” you answer.
“I know,” he says and you wait for him to continue, “Lu told me.”
You nod as you enjoy your ice cream in silence. He does the same.
“So…” you begin.
“I got jealous,” he cuts you off as he admits before you even think up a question.
“Oh,” you don’t know what else to say. Admittedly, you wanted to bring up the kiss first. But by the looks of it, he was skipping over it, so you decided that you would too.
“Are you sure you're over him?” Choso suddenly asks.
“What?” you ask confused.
“Suguru.”
“Yes! Why wouldn't I be?” you frown.
“Well it’s only been like what… 3-4 weeks since the breakup? And now he’s your neighbour too,” he lays out his logic… which wouldn’t make sense if only he knew the truth.
Right. About time you confess and set things straight!
But you couldn’t help but feel pathetic in this situation. The lie has been blown so out of proportion that each time you wish to speak, it feels as if you’d puke instead.
“I dont want to fuck things up between us,” he explains further and the words have a familiar ring to them from once upon a time ago.
In that moment, you realise not once has he explicitly mentioned that he likes you more than friends are supposed to and that scares you. This feeling’s familiar – actions can sometimes trick you more than words.
Confessions are different; they’re set in stone. ‘I like you’ can only be interpreted in one way, whereas a kiss, or in this case an almost kiss, can have multiple implications. So you bite your tongue once again.
“I don’t want to be just a rebound. I don’t want you to regret us,” he sighs.
“Trust me, you have no reason to be jealous, Cho— ah, shit!,” you fan your mouth as if it can help the brain freeze. Without even realising it, you’d taken a huge bite out of the ice cream while being lost in your thoughts.
Choso laughs as he sees you shake your head.
“Am I getting old so soon?” you chuckle when it passes, “My tongue’s heavy already! I could easily eat 10 of these.”
“Would you like to try mine?” he offers as he holds his spoon closer to your mouth. You nod immediately and he feeds you. You put your thumb up in approval.
“Wanna try this?” you ask and it’s your turn to move your cone closer to his mouth.
He brings his hand over yours, warm fingers wrapping around your cold ones as he guides the cone closer to his face. He leans forward to lick the melting ice cream and you wonder if he’s the one doing it so seductively or if it’s your head that’s always in the gutter.
“Better than mine,” he comments and you simply nod with a smile. Silence falls over again but it’s not as uncomfortable as before. When you’re done, you ride back home, taking the longer route once again.
When you reach the parking lot, you talk about work and other insignificant things. He’s taken off his helmet along with yours, as he leans against the parked bike. You wonder if it’s a sign that he wants you to invite him up.
“Cho,” you almost mumble.
“Yes?” he asks, folding his hands to his chest and you can see the outline of his biceps through the thin cotton shirt. You tear your eyes away from his body to stare into his eyes instead.
“Just don’t ghost me again,” you warn him, “I hate it. Whatever it is, just talk to me.”
“How can I ghost you? My day’s incomplete without seeing your cute face,” he smiles.
“Right, as if I believe you now!” you roll your eyes, making him laugh.
“I’m sorry,” he extends his hands out to hold yours, pulling you a step closer towards him.
You look down at your hands as you bite your lip in contemplation, trying to form a proper sentence to invite him upstairs. He calls out your name to grab your attention. You look up at him again.
“Let's take it slow?” Choso asks.
Oh.
“Okay,” you nod.
“Okay,” he smiles as he squeezes your hands.
“How about now?” you joke.
He laughs as he shakes his head, “Stop being so cute.”
You blush at his words but still sigh as your tone gets more sincere, “but okay, I understand.”
“Oh! By the way, I'm going home for the weekend. Just saying, I’m not ghosting you again. Might even miss you… just a little bit,” he grins.
“I won’t miss you at all!” you tease back, “Good night Cho.”
Choso laughs again as he stands up straight to encase you into a hug. His arms snake around your waist as he buries his head in the crook of your neck. Your hands rest on his chest as you feel him inhale your scent softly.
“Cho, it tickles,” you giggle but don’t push him away. Instead you slide your hands up his shoulders.
“You make it so fucking hard for me to control myself,” he mumbles so quietly that you almost miss it.
“You know… Lu’s not home tonight,” you whisper as you hesitantly wrap your arms around his neck.
He takes a moment to speak up as you lazily caress the back of his head.
“Slow,” he scolds.
“You totally considered it for a second!” you gasp.
“Shhh,” his face is still buried against your neck as his arms wrap around your waist even tighter. You feel goosebumps all over your skin when he pecks the corner of your jaw softly, “Good night.”
Before you realise it, he releases you from his hold, quickly hopping on his bike, ready to leave. He turns to look at you once again and you wave at him as he exits the parking lot.
When he’s out of sight, you turn around to walk up to your apartment. As you walk back in a haze, you decide that you would come clean about the lie and confess your feelings when he returns on Monday.
For better or for worse – you had made up your mind to rip the concrete band-aid off once and for all.
