Finally making an OC info post- by no means is this all of them, just ones that are most active and/or live in my head rent free.

First up- Rhys (DnD 5e - Rime of the Frostmaiden)

20 years Old, Half Orc, Half Elf (sweet baby angel) , He/Him

Fighter- Echo Knight

Absolute Ray of Sunshine; Rhys is from Icewind Dale; more specifically the Nomadic Reghed Tribe of the Elk.

He's unfamiliar with the outside world and even includes settlements in his own country

He's a Himbo basically a big dog.

This campaign lead him to leaving his tribe for the first time after an unfortunate accident which turned him into a small 'painted child' and searching for his missing sister. (both these are sorted now!)

*Rhys found an old oil painting of this child, blacked out and next thing he knew he was that small elf child. Her skin and clothing having the texture of painted canvas, and bleeds paint.

For a good chunk of the campaign he was just a totally normal elf- whose shadow didn't match with the body

She definitely went off the rails post Ophelia's death. I believe this event was the main trigger that led to her becoming fully devoted to Bhaal. There's nothing worse than losing everything/one you cared about after all

Romantic but also very toxic relationship with Gortash. Out of all my Durges she is definitely the most likely to have been all over that greasy man LMAO. Girl was FERAL

She is the only Durge who does reject Bhaal but also has the opportunity to become the Absolute depending on the choices she makes in game

Her and Ophelia are tragic soulmates in EVERY lifetime. One of them will always die tragically by the others hands. There is no reality where they can both live together happily ( Angsty I know LMAO )

Ophelia:

Definitely the more rational one between her and Willow. She was always trying to keep Willow out of trouble. She loved it though. The chaos as definitely fun at times

Before Willow's death, Ophelia was trying to make ends meet by any means necessary. She was an Orphan and had no one to rely on but herself. Hence the Urchin background.

After Willow died, Ophelia swore to repent for what she had to do by becoming a life domain Cleric of Selûne. It definitely helped her grieve. It also gave her a purpose and led her to becoming who she is

The enemies to lovers dynamic with Shadowheart is the BESTTTTT. I highly recommend Shadowheart x Selûnite tav

The ending she gets with Shadowheart is just what she deserves. Like poor girl had it ROUGH

Zephyra:

Previously had a fling with Astarion but is absolutely in LOVE with Lae'zel (she pretty much so always was but she was in denial)

She's a little less rough around the edges than Lae'zel (especially in the beginning when Lae'zel still doesn't trust anyone yet)

Also far more knowledgeable about Faerun than most other Githyanki due to her outlander background. She loved to explore far and wide before the mindflayer abduction

She's definitely a romantic at heart but doesn't want to admit it just yet

She swore her Oath of Vengeance after her best friend went missing and is presumed dead. She just wants to know what happened to her (Spoiler: Vlaakith Ascension ending 👀)

Her and Lae'zel are definitely mother's to the githyanki egg from the creche

Her relationship with Lae'zel is absolutely adorable. They definitely complete each other. Zephyra was the first person to ever show Lae'zel the importance and feeling of softness when it comes to love

Was tortured by the secret organization, and ended up having the trauma of needles

They went back to the training room of the secret organization, and got their ass beat, but has no disadvantage to improvised weapons to anymore

Hijacked a truck by killing the dude driving it, crashed it, got pulled over by the cops, got driving privileges revoked by the party

Class: Level 3 Blood Hunter (I regretted this choice pretty quickly)

She grew up as a royal fae of the Glowray family, she ran away and joined the military when she was of age. She was found out by the enemy during the war and was captured. She had one wing ripped off, the other is full of holes. Her mystic marks have been carved into with knives and burned. She was discharged but does not want to return to her kingdom because of controlling parents who only loved her for her mystic status with their gods. So she wanders between towns under the name stella instead of her full name stellaris. She hides her marks and names due to the distinctiveness of her marks and being the missing royal.

Her Military Rank when she was discharged was a Second Lieutenant.

Military for 8 years, captured and recuperating for 1, been wandering for 2 before joining the group

When she was 21 she joined an adventuring group, growing quite close with these people, learned everything about them, fought many battles at their side. At 31 they all died due to a mistake that she made in battle, one slip up cost all of their lives, and she barely made it out with her own. She fled before killing the enemy. Guilt followed her for the next year as she wandered, a shell of herself. She ended up taking solace in a temple, feeling the need to repent for what she had done. Soon she became an acolyte of that temple. Within her first year at the temple she vowed to herself that she wouldn't forget about her past adventuring party, her friends, so she keeps journal. She recounts all of the adventures that they went on within that journal. Every night after she prays she will write in the journal, religously. Once she finished writing about her past she began journaling about her life in the temple, keeping up the habit. Other than going shopping and stuff like that she hasn't really left the temple for the past 14 years.

This time Techno's, Pax!

Did I make them a harengon because of osmp Techno? Oh definitely. But I do think that Techno would play an harengon, it seems like his style

This was my first time drawing any kind of bunny looking character so I hope I did ok 😅

Anyway yeah, Techno's actually really invested in the game, he's also pretty good at rp! He's around people he knows he can trust so he's less awkward because he knows the won't judge him

(long ramble of Pax's lore and how the party forms under the cut)

At the beginning of the campaign Pax is in a position somewhat similar to Techno himself, being that they live in the woods with a bunch of animals.

The thing that actually prompts them to become a proper adventurer is that an displacer beast kitten he had taken in after finding it alone and injured was confiscated(stolen) by a religious research institution (cult, it's a cult, it just doesn't want admit it's a cult)

And uh Pax wasn't particularly down for that shit. So, obvious answer is kitten heist. This becomes a problem because Pax does not have the skills for that, or like... connections. They're a hermit and don't talk to like... Anyone generally. He is friends with a druid named Astra though (Astra is Wren's character btw). And she's more connected.

That's how they meet Juli and Niki's character Nyx(who is an arcane trickster rogue).

Juli actually has a connection to the cult because she was hired by them to do alchemy and stuff, but after hearing about the kittennaping and also about various other crimes committed (a lot of them stealing creatures or knowledge, with some people trafficking on the side) through Nyx (who has a large network of other thieves, assassin and various other criminal underworld stuff) she nopes all the way out of that job.

Anyway yeah... that's how the party starts to form. But back to more Pax specific stuff!

Pax is probably the second most responsible person in the party after Astra. And they both sort of accidentally become the parent figures of the group. Everyone else is chaos incarnate(Juli, Nyx, Clyde(Phil's character, joins the party with Juli because he's an old family friend of hers and has been traveling around with her)) or trauma town(Moon, Coal(Ranboo's character, they're and escaped experiment from the cult, she joins not too long after the party's formation)).

Pax definitely just wanted to get his cat back but realized they needed to destroy a cult and got attached to the dumbasses they're doing so with

Also, Pax didn't mention to the party that the cat he was rescuing was a displacer beast, they always just refered to her as his cat by her name, "Erebus" or more commonly than her full name by her nickname "Ere"

I saw your "tell me about your dnd characters" post and didn't want to spam comments BUT one of my favorites of my characters is my half-elf arcane trickster rogue. Her backstory is she's a jewel thief that was hired out to do a heist with her partner-in-crime/lover, but the people who hired them knew that whoever touched the jewel would get imprisoned in it so her lover was trapped and eventually smashed, RIP (-- we love a good revenge motivator though) She took the Crossbow Expert feat (can wield two hand crossbows, ignore loading, some other stuff you can Google -- I HIGHLY recommend it for ranged chars) and had sneak attack so she did hella damage at a high level. I rolled a nat 20 during the final boss fight of a YEARS LONG campaign and everyone at the table had to help me count the 20-something d6s. She delivered the killing blow on the BBEG with that roll -- very "and everyone clapped" of me, but that's exactly what happened and it was so satisfying lmao My favorite part about her though is the fact that I was new to the group and literally session 1 the DM pulled me aside for a secrets/player consent talk to tell me that my character had contracted lycanthropy after a fight. He was really apologetic and was like "we can retcon" but I thought it was hilarious, so she became a were-rat. She'd shift into rat mode and hide in the bard's pocket to pop out for shenanigans/crime, and rather than cure her lycanthropy she kept it as an asset to her thievery 🐀

first of all, love the backstory, i envy anyone who can come up with a compelling tragic past event that motivates their character going forward.

my friend is playing a rogue in our campaign atm, but i think he went for the thief archetype. but i've seen the powers of a sneak attack + a bunch of other halfling abilities.

the thing with the natural 20 delivering the final blow sounds dope as hell, i'm sure it was wild. i'm still waiting for my nat 20s to come through when it actually matters lmao.

i'm obsessed with your character contracting rat lycanthropy, i might need to mention that during my next session meeting. my dm tends to throw a lot of shit my character's way while being very apologetic about it but i also just take it with humor. a lot of the stuff my character goes through is pretty fucking funny too.

ok my baby my number 1 baby of all time is alaira. she is an arcane trickster rogure who is a water genasi. she went to wizard school and got kicked out and framed for cheating (she didn't fuckn do it) but then went to work as a sex worker and then realised that being a theif was actually super easy and fun so she did that for a bit, but still had these like small ish magic abilities from when she was a wizard. so like, she's a charisma rogue, but with intelligence skills, which is a bit rough for her bc her spells r quite weak HAHA. but then we went back to her hometown and the wizard principal basically acknowledged that he knew she didn't cheat the whole time. so she was really mad but as an apology he gave her one of those big tomes that PERMANENTLY INCREASES UR INT BY 2...... and then we levelled up so i took a level in wizard (and changed the fighter level i had at that point to wizard) so now i'm an arcane trickster rogue x bladesinger wizard (level 11) and it's pretty slay!! she loves her daggers n stuff, and loves flirting, but her party is suuuuper trusting of literally everyone so she ends up being the angery Leader (actually now that i think about it i think kaz of six of crows is the right vibe.... but i was actually enormously inspired by celaena sardothien from throne of glass first two books vibe.) anyway we're about to fight an ancient white dragon as a party so lets see how that goes.... tho we did just beat its death tyrant lair guardian!!!!

my other characters are less active atm, but include a brainwashed protection/order cleric (we homebrewed her subclass), a circle of stars druid, and a tiefling bard. i don't think any of those r on their way back into rotation tho.... due to Social Circumstances.

However i also dm a game for my friends!!! i hope that continues soon... my most Beloved NPCs are a halfling monk and a human Almost Princess who are in love.

this game has my brain hostage. so here's how i think the s4 +rider and avi would play bg3. spoilers for bg3

Army:

-Explorer difficulty. He is FULLY into it.

-In normal dnd he is your minmaxer who somehow makes it work with the roleplay. In bg he is ALL in for his character and plays them as accurately as he can.

-Valor Bard, High Elf. The backstory he gave himself was he grew up on the streets of Waterdeep and learned magic and tricks of the tongue to cast it from bards he watched. He was gifted a lute by a traveling paladin who had no need for it.

-Romancing Gale. he's too nice to go for the twink vampire and too gay for anyone else (other than maybe wyll but he got set on gale's romance first)

Aloha:

-Balanced, multiplayer with Mask.

-He went with a tiefling ("the gayest race!!") rogue, arcane trickster, with the Charlatan background without knowing Astarion was essentially the same in a different font

-He's a (reforming!) conman from Baldur's Gate who once conned Cazador. He now only goes for the more wicked people for his cons which. still includes Cazador i guess

-Also romancing Gale because "he reminds me of army and that's Hot"

Mask:

-Balanced, multiplayer with Aloha but has her own save on tactician. Same character for both

-Dark urge wood elf (for the speed), draconic sorceress with blue dragon bloodline. She's not evil but she is An Asshole.

-She wrote her own backstory where even before loosing her memory she was resisting her urge to murder and so she moved into the woods and became known as "The Witch of the Wicked" due to her spells having deep prices

-Very neutral on savescumming. She makes fun of Army for it and Rider for not

-Though somehow romancing Karlach cause even she has standards and cant resist buff women

Rider:

-Explorer. He's a giant nerd and wants to take it easy to pick up on all the references without stress

-High elf War Cleric of Ilmater. Portrays him as a protector of those in need, as most Ilmater clerics are, but he's more aggressive in his protection. Hence, war domain. He's like a scary older brother that protects people

-Jokes to Goggles and Hachi (who watch over his shoulder) that "he's just a long suffering mom friend who needs a coffee, and a nap"

-Romancing Wyll because Goggles n Hachi both liked him

Skull:

-Explorer because he's new to dnd and related stuff. He played a bit of Pathfinder and that's it. He's enjoying himself though

-Wood Elf ranger as "i feel like i couldnt be anything else in dnd". Outlander background and beastmaster subclass. Has a giant wolf with him at all times he named Ulfric who is the soul of Avi reincarnated after his death. Avi came up with that one

-Karlach reminds him too much of Avi so of course he's going to give the tiefling woman a Smooch. As He Should

Avi:

-Tactician. He's not a stranger to gaming nor is he one to dnd.

-Minmaxes but makes it work.

-Tiefling Paladin of Vengence, somehow with wolflike traits. Folk hero background. He and Skull had the idea that their bg3 characters were married but their different playthroughs are where the other died respectively if that makes sense

-Hates Being Mean. Chaotic Good playthrough but hates being a dick

-Romancing Wyll because Wyll reminds him a lil of Skull and Paladin/Warlock is an underrated ship dynamic. its the same thing in Reverse

my dnd character is my blorbo but I can't tell the rest of my party a lot about them. but I can tell YOU

his name is mayhem and they're an all pronouns kinda guy. arcane trickster rogue tiefling

she grew up in the poor outskirts of a city full of corruption and crime and gangs as one of the younger of like a LOT of kids. mostly, the family took care of each other, but mayhem was kinda left out without any real reason. he was just deemed as too weird, too different. their skin is the colour of a sunburnt human from further into the city, and their horns and tail never really grew in, so among tieflings, she wasn't considered "one of them". a lot of the time, he had to take food and even clothes from other people, as their family started refusing to care for him as it got clearer she'd never be a "normal" tiefling, and of course nobody else wanted anything to do with the outcast tiefling child that not even their family wanted. with time, he got better and better at hiding in the shadows, getting into places unnoticed, and stealing (but once they realised that a lot of people in the outer circles of the city had to fight hard for what they had as well, they started to only take from more wealthy people further in). they spent a lot of time lurking in the roofs and watching the wizards' apprentices, and even picked up on how to use the mage hand and a couple of other spells helpful in their daily life (or just fun, sometimes).

however, a life in the shadows, disliked by everyone is... not great. she got sick of it. having literally nothing to lose, mayhem decided to leave the city and just go very, very far away. he didn't have any plans of where to go or what to do, they just didn't want to see anybody from the city ever again. and so they left, and as the last wooden shacks and farm houses outside the city were getting smaller, they also left their family name and their given first name behind and became mayhem.

here's my girl, she's an arcane trickster rogue & a big liar. almost every facet of her identity is fabricated, down to her self-chosen name. half drow/half satyr, she's never seen the Underdark - she was raised by her satyr father on the surface who never spoke a word about her mother she's fixated on the workings of the Underdark, and dreams of a life in Menzoberranzan knowing fully well her presence in the Underdark would not be welcomed - she directs this energy toward roleplaying a character of stuck-up nobility on the surface. she'll proclaim her status in House Oblodra to anyone she believes to be none the wiser. if they point out Oblodra's destruction? she's suddenly the last remaining descendant (she even got a shoddy hand tattoo for the bit) the legs? Oblodra was rumored to enjoy the company of illithids - surely satyr heritage wasn't that out there. she puts lots of dedication into studying the history of the Underdark - House Oblodra is her favorite house to read about, even if accessible records of the house are sparse she navigates social situations incredibly cautiously, and uses illusion magic for situations she doesn't have the upper hand in. she avoids anyone who'd call her on her act, notably other drow and those who speak the language (she's far from fluent) massive girlfailure vibes + stuck-up nobility characterization is my fav duo <3 i tried so hard to find any other song.... but of course i always ended up coming back to marina

Ayressa Aedihle - Bardlock (College of Lore/The Arch Fey)

This song was a find from a few years ago, but it’s become Ayressa’s song because it’s what I imagine her voice to sound like. Haunting vocals echo through this song and while its lyrics aren’t hopeful, it does speak of a sort of eternal love.

I suppose it’s more appropriate for any iteration of Ayressa who loses Gale - either to the Orb or Sneaky!God syndrome but I still think that it has a place with Ayressa getting a happy ending.

Her name is Kaylie, she's a human Arcane Trickster rogue (wow me?? stan of veth brenatto? playing an AT rogue? who could've forseen this). Even though she's Arcane Trickster, she's actually very much not a trickster personality. Her rogue-iness comes more from an ability to blend into the background and go unnoticed. Without looking at my D&D notes, we're somewhere around Session 10 with this party and honestly, I'm still figuring out how to play her. I tend to be a very chaotic player and I specifically designed Kaylie to be Not That to challenge myself because the last character I main campaigned was just so chaotic I could kind of follow any impulse I had and justify it.

The setting we're playing is modern with magic, so it's basically just set in alternate reality Earth, and all the characters are on some version of a gap year and decided to travel the world. Kaylie actually never went to college but has been saving up since she graduated high school and has worked at her small town grocery since graduating, and she leaves town after a bad breakup, but something might be up with her memory.... (which is all I'll say because one of D&D group members follows me on Tumblr)

Aesthetically, she actually is almost continually dressed like Avril Lavigne in 2002 (think Sk8r Boi era) because I thought that would be fun. For it to just be ~2022 in game and her to be dressed like a 2002 Avril and not comment on it at all. But my party just recently had a huge plot beat at a vampire ball and my DM was narrating how the blood moon sort of came out around midnight and all I could think was I Need to See This Visualized, so that's the specific scene I commissioned.

She's been super fun to play but because of the setting we haven't gotten to do too much combat oriented stuff (though it looks like a conflict might be on the horizon) and I'm really excited to explore more rogue stuff because this is my first time playing one outside of a oneshot.

okay so, most of my characters are for DnD 5e cause I play that the most, but I've got a couple for other systems that I really love.

My oldest DnD character is a halfling called Milo Oakwood, I played him in my first campaign but it ended early so I revamped him for another one. Originally he was an arcane trickster rogue, but now he's a multiclassed rogue bard (one level in rogue, three in bard, he's college of eloquence). I love him so much, he's a coward who hates violence and loves lying, he pretended to be a wizard for the first ten sessions of the second campaign. he's also a werewolf but very much still in the denial stage about that

My second oldest dnd character is a tabaxi fighter/rogue musketeer fella, I actually play him in two campaigns now - originally a horror campaign where he's level 11 and in his forties, an experienced adventurer who gets marooned on a creepy island while on his way home to his husband, and now a werewolf/town of salem/among us style game where he's level 6, late twenties, and has only just left his job as a town guard. he's called Charles Edwin Cooper in the first one and Storm at Dusk in the second (went for a more traditional tabaxi name in the second to fit the setting better). they're both absolutely going through it rn

The only dnd character I've played in person is an elf fighter/rogue (guess my favourite classes lmao), she's called Elion Bravechild and he's my babygirl <3, the cutest violent ex-bandit you'll ever see, having a bad time suffering various problems in pursuit of a powerful evil cult as the only non-spellcaster in the party lol

I have a few dnd characters for play by post games: Eaza, a dragonborn paladin way out of their depth rn; Ash, a shifter barbarian who's coping with screwing up her life by going to space to bite aliens (spelljammer campaign); and Stronsay, a reborn druid who's a strange corpse that washed up on the beach one day, got up, and hasn't particularly cared about anything since

kind of my favourite character at the moment is Caitríona, she's a monster of the week monstrous I played in a mini-campaign. She was a shapeshifting monster (selkie) working as a camp counsellor on a remote island, she took no shit from anyone and wrestled a bunch of monster while trying to be nice and also hide her secret, and eventually got sent back in time lmao

I've also just started a second fallout ttrpg campaign, my character is a himbo farmboy called Elliot, I'm excited to see where his character goes

I saw on your Twitter you play dnd! What kind of character do you play and what system? Also, do you do your own commissions of your characters or do you get it from other artists?

oh hell yeah i love dnd!!! i mostly just play 5E but my regular group did our second session in city of mists last night and it was SUPER fun (we play that instead of our ongoing game whenever our aussie players can’t make it)

i don’t usually reuse dnd characters because even tho i love my characters, they usually all end up with their own history and relationship to their games so adapting them feels weird, but here’s a run down of some of my favorite characters i’ve played! (and ye all this art is by me)

1. anenome (or nem for short)

she’s a water genasi arcane trickster rogue/divination wizard. she’s from a game where we started out playing kids (nem was 11) and then after a Big Event had an 11 year time skip where everyone in the party had to separate before a big reunion. she used to be a really shy and sweet and optimistic kid, but after everything fell apart and she became an accidental criminal, she stopped believing in any sort of fairness in the world and grew up super jaded and nihilistic, tho she still strives to protect that spark of optimism in others (not that she’d admit that). she is SUPER SUPER gay and is married to flare (fire genasi sorcerer). they have a bunch of history and i love them a lot!

2. nora

this is my city of mists character!! she’s a twitch streamer/cam girl/only fans model/l33t h4x0r. she’s clever and compassionate and very silly and a bit gross. part of her backstory is that when she was a relatively new twitch streamer, someone tried to cyberbully her by calling her a ��garfield looking ass motherfucker” and so she immediately dyed her hair orange and made that her entire persona just to fuck with them (thus the custom garf headset).

3. hemlock

hemlock is an onomancy wizard! she was made for a storybook game — essentially all the characters lived on a bookshelf in someone’s home and can travel between books.

when characters travel into a new book, especially if it’s an “active” book (i.e. currently being read), they get assigned a role that is both available and closest to their archetype (so, as a wizard, if hemlock entered a book of king arthur’s tales she would likely be assigned as morrigan or merlin if available, or another magic user if not).

hemlock herself was from a story where her family (two sisters and her mother) were turned from good witches/princesses (it was unclear) into evil hags/witches and hemlock bartered her name (and right eye) to keep her mind/heart/goodness.

the onomancy wizard subclass is SUPER interesting and fun and is all about the naming of things and works super well with fairytale stuff (which i love). tbh i REALLY want to play hemlokc more. that game was insanely fun and ended prematurely due to scheduling difficulties. i just don’t think there is another game setting that would ever work for her bc she is so specific.

4. althea

my most recent character is althea! she’s an aasimar grave cleric. she woke up in a morgue about two weeks ago (in game time) and instantly fell in love with the mortician who discovered she was still(?) alive. she has no memories of her past (and tbh no real desire to go looking for them). she is smart but also a dumb ass, has 6 charisma and no sense of self preservation and is completely and utterly in love with rosemary (the mortician, now barkeep) and will literally do anything she wants, no questions asked (and will even do things she THINKS rosemary wants unasked... such as maybe yoinking a very obviously cursed goblet from a ritual circle of living corpses in literally the first game session just bc she thought rosemary would think it was cool).

5. penny

penny was my first long-term dnd character! she was my third dnd character ever but in a lot of ways i consider her my first because the other two were run primarily in 4E and didn’t meet often enough (or just enough period) for me to get a grasp on them or the game mechanics.

penny is a light domain cleric. she was made for a buddy cop game i joined randomly on roll20 because i couldn’t find a consistent group to meet with IRL. i was super nervous to join a random game with strangers but really wanted to play dnd so i gave it a shot and i am SO glad i did because i still play with that group! or.. what became of that group. it started out as a group of me and a bunch of strangers, but i quickly made friends with the DM and one of the other players, then devin joined a couple months in, and slowly original players left for various reasons and we invited other ppl in (a couple of my friends, the other longterm player’s gf, etc) and now that is the main group i still play with! (nem and nora and a bunch of my other characters are from games w that group)

when the game was open for player/character apps, we were asked to pitch what role our character would play in a buddy cop movie and i picked the straight man archetype (haha i know). penny is very sweet and shy and wholesome.

i have a bunch of other characters, most of which can be found on toyhouse, but this post is already way too long as is! whoops!
