listen, side order is. a fantastic dlc! a fantastic gameplay experience! its great! i love getting more little pieces of world building and character building n shit!!

but i gotta be honest. the writing (both in the dlc itself and in media that has come after) has really started to ruin pearl and marina as characters for me and that makes me awfully sad

#not ship related #we all know i was already a pearlina disliker so i know i was kinda set up to fail #but like. jesus #i couldn't have predicted that it would be this bad #even if you see it through a completely platonic lens like i do!!#marina is so fucking annoying!!! all of her dialogue is about how great pearl is!!!!#she talks about almost nothing else except for when she reminisces with acht or talks to the final boss #it could've been interesting if her treating pearl as a deity was a plot point that culminated in them finally truly seeing each other-#-as equals. but no. her whole personality is pearl now #god forbid an escaped child soldier-turned-megastar be allowed to be interesting in her own right #octo expansion made her so complex and interesting just for side order to reduce her to her primary close relationship #but like whatever i guess #splatoon 3 side order #moneposting #splatposting
