uhmmm how do you think wanda would go about proposing ? i feel like she would be really cute n nervous and maybe a little bit shy which isn't like her at all normally
- 💌
Oh, she will be so nervous! She's been preparing for months and she wants everything to be perfect.
She has a locked Pinterest wall where she saves all the rings she potentially likes, wanting to pick the perfect one for you. She also has a separate one for the wedding bands, because she wants a matching pair and she is so excited for the proposal, so she can finally show you all her ideas.
She wants to make the proposal itself very intimate and personal. She knows you wouldn't want to be stared at by strangers, so she takes you to a lovely vacation home with a private beach and she hides a camera, so she can capture the proposal itself and show it to everyone later.
She makes sure to exhaust you during the day, so when she seamlessly proposes that you take a nap in the afternoon, you wouldn't suspect it and she uses the moment you're asleep to prepare everything.
She puts up lights everywhere, decorates the spot she picked with flowers, she makes sure there's champagne in the fridge and romantic music playing. She will go all out. She'll spare nothing to make you feel special and loved.
When you finally wake up, she leads you out and you're so stunned by everything she did so far that you don't even see it coming when she drops on one knee.
She has a whole speech that she's been preparing for weeks, but when she sees you in the light of the sunset, surrounded by flowers and fairy lights, she almost forgets it all, she’s so nervous.
Her hands shake, but she manages not to fumble with the box, when she presents it to you and she proceeds to tell you that she loves you and that she wants to spend the rest of her life with you. That she will do everything in her power to make you happy every day that she is blessed by your presence.
Your knees almost buckle, you're so emotional and tears fill your eyes immediately, but you say the biggest yes, before you kiss her as hard as you can.
When she has the ring on your finger and you actually calm down at least a little, the two of you decide to spend the evening on the beach where she proposed, wanting to prolong this moment and remember every detail, sipping the champagne and sometimes dancing together to the music.
Wanda has the biggest grin on her face all night... All vacation actually and she's not afraid to show it.
She keeps telling you that you'll make such a beautiful bride, discussing gowns with you and telling you all her plans for the wedding. And she has so many!
The whole vacation and her proposal are one of your fondest memories and you are actually insanely happy that she taped it all, because you love to watch it. Sometimes she walks up to you, when you're watching something on your phone, only to see it's her proposal and her heart always melts. She always hoped you would love it, but never dreamed it would be that much. Not that she'd complain about that.
The day you said "Yes" to Wanda Maximoff for the first time is one of the happiest in your life and you feel the luckiest woman in the world for calling her your fiancé. It will only be topped by the day you finally get to call her your wife.

Logash oneshot
“Sleepover shopping!” Aiden exclaimed happily as he zoomed around on a shopping cart, Taylor in it.
“We’ll get the snacks!” Taylor shouted.
“Aiden!!” Tyler yelled angrily, chasing after them. “Be careful!”
Ashlyn, Ben, and Logan were left standing there as they watched the other 3 all rush off.
“Um..” Logan says. “Shouldn’t one of us maybe.. go.. get them..?”
They all exchange a look before Ben sighs softly and goes off to supervise them.
“Welp..” Ashlyn says, sticking her hands in her pockets. “I guess we’ll be in charge of medical supplies? In case Tyler and Aiden get into another fight.”
“Haha, ya, that would probably be smart.”
The two of them went over to the medical aisles, scanning through the different medications.
“Those guys are always so rowdy..” Logan says as he grabs a bottle of ibuprofen. “It’s kind of overwhelming..”
“Tell me about it.”
“You know how it feels? Being overwhelmed?”
“Of course I do,” she said, giving him a ‘well duh’ look.
“Like everything has gone dark and the darkness etches towards you and you begin to only hear static..”
“Well..” she grabs a first aid kit. “Not quite like that. More like everything is fuzzy and blurry and there’s more of a ringing noise than a static one.”
The two go silent for a moment before smiling at one another.
“Never met someone who understood so well,” Logan says with an awkward, crooked grin.
“Um.. ya..”
Ashlyn had always felt different from others. She acted differently and responded in ways that people didn’t like. In short, she’d never been able to properly connect with someone. Maybe that’s one of the reasons she refuses to have friends.
“Like.. I like Aiden and all..” Logan says. “But he can get so loud, yknow?”
“Tell me about it.” She pauses before turning to him. “Yknow. If you end up getting overwhelmed around the others, just come to me. We can go to another room and enjoy the quiet together.”
Logan gives her a grateful smile. “Thank you, Ashlyn.. I actually think I would really like that.”
He gave her his classic puppy-dog-smile. The kind where his eyes get all big and shiny and he just looks up at you with the biggest, sweetest smile ever. The kind that made her soft spot for Logan even more apparent because he’s so sweet and she loves dogs.
She pat his head, which caught him off guard a little.
“Hey, yknow. You and I never hang out all that much. Whadya say we practice our shooting aim together?”
Logan perks up a little at this. Logan wasn’t good at many things. School had always been it.. So him being a good aimed sniper always made him happy and proud. And Ashlyn knew this, which is why she recommended the idea.
“I’d like that, Ashlyn. I really, really would..”
The two nudged shoulders before Ashlyn’s phone began ringing.
“Hello?” she answered.
“Please come to aisle 7,” said Tyler. “Aiden crashed the cart into the soup cans.”
“Are you fucking-?! Ugh.. all right.. we’ll be there in a minute..”
When she hangs up, her and Logan look at one another.
“Ready to deal with their loud asses?” Ashlyn asks.
“Haha.. hopefully!”
Ashlyn thinks for a moment before reaching into her pocket up pulling out an unopened bag of earplugs.
“Never go anywhere without several of these. Here.”
“Oh.. thanks..!”
“No problems. I know how it feels to get.. overwhelmed from loud noises.” She smiled at him, which made Logan feel like the luckiest person in the world because Ashlyn never smiles. “I wouldn’t want someone suffering through the same thing..”
He stared at her with big eyes before quietly saying, “Can I hug you?”
“Oh..! Um.. A side hug.”
He nods and wraps an arm around her shoulder, leaning in her. Ashlyn feels a little awkward at first, but eventually leans into him as well.
“Now cmon,” she says. “Let’s go take care of our dumbasses.”
Logan puts the earplugs in and nods. “Right.”

supermodel – @dorlenemicroficprompts – 263 words
Marlene feels her heart pound in her chest alarmingly fast. Dorcas is wearing a green mini dress and heels, showcasing her long legs and not really leaving much up to the imagination.
“How do I look?” Dorcas asks, twirling in the small living room of their flat. Marlene’s still not over that - their flat. They moved in together a year after they finished school. It was the best decision she ever made, that and actually asking her out. They’ve been together years, and Marlene has never once got tired of her girlfriend, constantly bewildered by her beauty.
“You look absolutely ravishing,” Marlene breathes out. “You could be a supermodel. You certainly look like one.”
Dorcas smiles softly and takes Marlene’s face in her hands, the rings on her fingers cool against her cheek. She grabs Dorcas’ waist pulling her closer and kisses her. Soft and tenderly. Conveying everything she can’t put into words with the movement of their lips. I love you. You’re gorgeous. I am the luckiest person in the world to call you mine. I want you to be mine forever.
The door slams open and Sirius yells, “Oi! Stop tongue fucking! We’re going to be late.”
Marlene sighs as he leaves. “Who decided to give him a key?”
“I’m pretty sure you gave James a key,” Dorcas replies. “You ought to know by now that they share everything.”
“Codependent pricks,” she mutters and pulls away from Dorcas, grabbing her things to go. “To be continued,” Marlene tells her girlfriend, and they both can’t wait for the party to end.

omg could you do some relationship headcanons with Goenji and Tsurugi? You would make my days with these🙏🏻🖤✨
Hey honey, sorry for the long wait but here are the headcanons you've been craving!
Unfortunately you didn't specify which of the two Tsurugi brothers you wanted so I made them both.
I beg you! Love Yuuichi too! He is too sweet not to be loved!! 🥺
Coming back to us, I wish you a good reading!
(sorry for my English)
»»——⍟——««
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Gouenji Shuuya
You met at school as classmates
Your classmates bet on whether or not you would get together
Spoiler: many of them won and used the bet money to go out to dinner
You are his first and real girlfriend so he is inexperienced in relationships
Shuuya loves you so much, as you love him so much
You are the first person he took to the hospital to visit his sister
When he saw you with a stuffed animal and flowers for her, he confirmed that you are the right girl for him
Initially his father was not happy with your relationship seeing it as a distraction for his son
But he has seen how happy you make him and this has reassured him
You are often invited to dinner and sometimes it happens that you sleep over with him.
He will make sure that on any occasion you are comfortable
He can't rest easy if his sweetheart is sick
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Tsurugi Kyousuke
He never thought a girl could make him feel all those emotions
Before you, his world was his brother and football, but now you're here too
Every time he thinks of you he feels like the luckiest guy in the world
-How can a girl like you love someone like him- that's what she always wonders
He will try to make you passionate about the world of football but if you don't like it he won't force you
If you like him, he would like to teach you how to play soccer
When he saw you arrive at training in your manager's uniform, he was very happy even if he won't show it
Even though he considers Tenma one of his best friends, he still gets very jealous when he sees you laughing and joking together
Needless to say, he won't show it
Don't expect huge gifts from him, he never will
However, expect some little gifts from time to time, such as a key ring, a pendant and stuff like that, using the excuse -it's nothing special but as soon as I saw it I thought of you-
He's not the kind of person who is good with sweet words, he prefers to show his love to you with deeds
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Tsurugi Yuuichi
He's the typical guy who cares about you instead of worrying about himself.
Just too sweet to argue with him.
Every time you visit him he gives you something. Whether it's a letter, a flower, a stuffed animal (obviously thanks to Kasuga's help).
He often thinks about what the future would be like with you and how he would like to make you the happiest girl in the world. Other times, however, he stops to think about how much he can't make you happy for now and how much (according to him) you deserve someone better (which obviously doesn't exist because he is the best of the best T-T)
Every time he is about to give up he thinks of you and how much you love him and this leads him to believe in himself and commit himself twice as much to physiotherapy.
He often talks about you to Kasuga calling you a gift from heaven.
Kyosuke adores you for who you are and at heart you make his brother happy.
He doesn't tell you much about his improvements because he would like to surprise you when he improves so much.
But he's a guy who listens a lot.
With his calm personality he always manages to give you good advice on how to deal with the situations you tell him about.
Every time you visit him he makes you put next to him in bed so he can pamper you as best he can.
He's always a little shy during kisses but he's a wonderful kisser!

Here is the chapter you requested after a very long wait.
It stayed in drafts for a long time due to my busy schedule. I took advantage of it on a night when I couldn't sleep to finish it and publish it. I hope you like it!!
Happy reading and a big hug! <3

imaginarybabies:
He leaned in to kiss the words still on her lips, again and again, and Sasha hugged him tighter, pushed him fully in her arms and arranged her body so she wouldn’t have to give him up when he fell back. Her hands could fall asleep for all she cared. She gave a sad smile. “Nah, baby. I ain’t mad.” She sunk into him again, buried her face in the curve of his neck. “You had to — to try. We thought it was over, remember?” And then came the tears, but she fought back and won — for the time being. “Like yeah, ain’t gon’ lie and say I enjoyed it. But it was still better than watching you — bury your life. And your future and shit, waiting for me. When everything looked — like I’d never make it out.” She winced. “You just did what I pushed you to. And I still — was enough of a bitch to be bitter it wasn’t me. And I’m sorry too.” She had no idea where all the words were coming from, but they were out there now, spoken into his skin between kisses. “But I di-did hope you’d be happy again. Even without me. I did wish it when I wasn’t crazy.“
He listened, and his frown got deeper as he did. His brows pushed together, the corners of his lips turned down. Reliving those days was nothing he enjoyed. But sometimes you had to talk about it to really put it in the past. “Yeah…” She was right, they really had put a final end to things back then. Oh, if only they’d known. He smiled when she said she had been a bitch to feel bitter it wasn’t her. “If it makes it better… none of it helped.” He licked his lips and stared at Nate’s ceiling fan. “I tried but day and night I still thought about you. Kinda almost feel bad for this girl cuz I never told her, Hey, I’m comin’ out of the most important relationship I ever had. And I’m gonna be thinkin about it for a while. I was always thinkin about it. Even when I shouldn’t have been thinkin about it. And the rest of the time I wasn’t thinkin about anything. You know? It was like white noise up in there.” He lifted his hand, making a vague gesture in the air with his fingers. The same hand that had his ring on it. “I think I was slowly dyin inside. From not being with you anymore. I don’t know what woulda happened if it went on longer,” he admitted, close to laughter. He knew though. He would’ve dropped the girl and any other girls. He would’ve probably sank deep into a dark hole and not come out. “Every night I had to do something to sleep cuz I couldn’t sleep. Marla gave me this stuff she used to sleep. It didn’t work. I tool like 20 of em one night. I just wanted to fuckin sleep. It didn’t work at all. Made me vomit the next day.” This part, he had never told her about.
Sasha said she did used to hope he’d be happy without her. “Well you crazy for that.” Because they knew now. They knew that neither of them would be happy if they didn’t have each other. Probably ever again. “I never stopped wanting you. Or us. Just tried to make myself stop thinking about it. And went nuts in the process,” he said with a laugh. It all came rushing back, the memories, like he was there again. “The text I sent… on my birthday. I knew I shouldn’t have but I was so miserable. Then when you wrote back I was like… I was the happiest I’d been in a long time. Just cuz you were texting me back.” That swell of emotion was inside him, but he didn’t cry. Her kisses helped. “Remember what you said then? You said ‘I want to either love you or not exist’. I felt the same way.” He looked down at her. “…will always feel that way.” He bit his lip, chewed on it. Were they lucky, to get this kind of outcome? Maybe they were the luckiest people on planet earth. “I don’t know who I was before you. That was a different person. A different Tyson. Now there’s only the Tyson that loves his Sasha.”

Sunday May 7th 2023
Nashville, TN
Aurora and Declan had just gotten home from a week in Dubai for Aurora’s birthday with all of their closest friends and family. After arriving back home the two were excited to be back in the comfort of their own home with their little girl, Taya. Declan had planned a small picnic at the park a few blocks from their home, but that wasn’t all he had planned. While the two were at the park he had his older brother, Damien at their house to help set up the surprise Declan had for Aurora.
Not long later the three of them, Declan, Aurora and Taya headed back to their home to relax for the rest of the evening, well… that’s what Aurora thought.
The moment she walked into the home there were rose petals on the floor leading her way to the back yard. She was instructed to head into the back yard with Taya, seeing a projector screen hanging against the fence with candles lit around the yard. The petals on the floor lead to more rose petals in the shape of a heart. Declan had spent the whole week prior getting all her closest friends and family to leave messages and pictures of memories they had together which was then put into a slide show.
Aurora had no idea about anything that this man had planned. She thought this was just the way he was ending her birthday week, with kind messages from all her close friends and family. Once the slideshow had ended she had turned around to find Declan on his knee in front of her.
Declan’s point of view
Declan pulled out a silver necklace, a heart hanging off it with three little diamonds resting on its shape.
“Taya, I hope you know princess that I love you with all of my heart and from the moment that I met you, I knew that I would dedicate my life to being by your side with every step you take. From the moment I met you, I knew that I wanted to be your father. You’re such a courageous, beautiful little girl and I want nothing more than to watch you grow up knowing that you have a dad who loves you.”
As Declan spoke, he was doing his best not to choke up on his words but this little girl meant the world to him. He then took the time to place the necklace around Taya’s neck before taking a moment to take a deep breath.
Doing his best to hold his ground, Declan pulled out a ring box. Finding every ounce of courage to raise his head, Declan locked eyes with the beautiful blonde.
“Rory, my sweet, sweet girl. You have been the brightest little thing in my life that I never knew I needed. For the longest time, I have felt so scrambled and out of place. I never knew what it was that I wanted to do with my life and I didn’t quite understand the type of man that I wanted to be. I was sort of living every day, not caring where I would end up. That all changed the moment I kissed you for the first time. That kiss breathed life into me where I suddenly felt like I wanted to be the very best version of myself. I wanted to become a man worthy enough to be loved by you. Ever since you trusted me with your heart, I have become a man I don’t quite recognize and I mean that in the best way possible. I feel like I am capable of the things I wouldn’t have dared to attempt before I met you. I can look at myself in the mirror and be proud of the person that your love has turned me into. I look at you and I see my family, my future, and my home. You and Taya are who I think of when I picture my happy place. I will spend a lifetime doing right by our family and making sure that you two are truly happy and cared for. Please, my love, will you make me the luckiest man in the world and marry me?”
Finally, Declan opened the box to show the rectangle shaped diamond that sat on top of the ring with smaller diamonds evenly placed around it.
Aurora’s point of view
Her heart felt like it was going to explode, her body was frozen and unable to move for a few seconds. She listened to his kind words he said to Taya. There was truly no man in this entire world she would rather have as Taya’s father figure, he treated her as his own and she really couldn’t ask for anything more.
Once Declan placed the necklace around Taya’s neck she watched him shift his attention to herself, a large gulp fell down her throat. Her bright green eyes beamed down into his eyes, listening to every word he said. Those tears that she had previously had resurfaced and were now streaming down her cheeks. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves she nodded her head with a smile across her face. “In no world would I ever say no. Yes, yes, yes and yes! In every multiverse, yes!”
She practically yelled that final yes. Aurora held her shaking hand out so he could slide the ring onto her finger.
“Kiss me, please!” She said with a small laugh, waiting for the male to stand back to his feet. Her arms wrapped around his neck quickly, standing on her tippy toes as she kissed him deeply.

Narcissa’s POV of Draco and y/n’s relationship? How she sees how in love with her he is and how well he treats her. He always talks to his mom about her a lot and tells her that he’s planning on proposing and shows her the ring? 🥺
a/n: Thank you so much for the request, love. I hope you like this little one shot😊
y/n – your name
Warnings: none, this is just fuff
Word count: 756
Masterlist
Reblogs and comments are always appreciated!
During my life, I’ve seen many things, but true love, that’s a rare finding and I’m proud to say my boy has that with y/n. They met after The War; Draco was in a really dark place when he bumped into her at Station 9 ¾ and made her drop her 10 pounds of chocolate frogs. I’m sure Dray thought What kind of person in their right mind buys 10 pounds of chocolate frogs? But little did he know, the answer was: the love of his life. Draco offered to replace them, as they couldn’t seem to catch half of them, and among laughter, jokes and a couple of embarrassing falls in public, they agreed to sit together in the train.
Draco introduced us to y/n during the winter holidays. Her family was leaving the country, but she had to stay behind to work as she’s a Magizoologist and at that time, she was working on a special case that needed her whole attention here in London. At first, I did not like the idea of Draco, the Malfoy Heir, dating a half blood, but as I got to know y/n I warmed up to her. She seemed like a nice girl, a little clumsy, but with a heart of gold that made Draco’s eyes light up like I’ve never seen him before. She was kind and quite interesting, as her job, in combination with her outgoing and friendly nature got her into the most… interesting situations.
I realized Draco was head over heels in love with y/n after seeing the way he so selflessly cared for her. Once, she got a magical flu and he pretty much moved into her apartment to make sure she always had water, warm food, soft blankets and enough love and attention while her health got better. I’ve never seen Draco care for anything the way she cares for y/n, and I’m glad I can say that love is reciprocate.
“Mum? Are you in the drawing room?” Draco said interrupting Narcissa’s thoughts
“In here darling, I’m just looking through old photographs” Narcissa replied flashing a warm smile at her boy
“Mum” he said once again hugging his mother “I’ve come to tell you something… something really special to me” Draco said with a nervous tone
“Tell me, my dear, is anything bothering you?” Narcissa asked offering a reassuring smile
“I’ve always been upfront with you about my relationship with y/n and that’s why I want you to be the first person to know that I want to propose to her” he said smiling from hear to hear
“Oh! Draco! I… I’m so excited for you!” Narcissa said with tears filling her eyes “I…I’m speechless, I know the two of you are going to be very happy” she added hugging her son
“I want to show you the ring I bought her” Draco said taking a small velvet box from his jacket “Here, open it” he said handing her the box
Narcissa opened it and saw a gorgeous gold ring with diamonds surrounding a big emerald. She felt her eyes water as she admired the ring, she turned to see her son and he seemed so happy, it made her heart explode “I love it, and I’m sure y/n will too” he said handing her son the ring
“I really hope she loves it; I want tonight to be perfect… I… I want her to feel as happy and lucky as I feel when I’m around her” Draco said putting the ring back in his pocket
“She loved you, my son, and I’m sure she’ll gladly spend the rest of her life next to you” Narcissa said, hugging her boy once again “I’m so proud of you, and of the man you’ve become, she’ll be the luckiest girl in the world by marrying you”
“I’m the one who hit the jackpot with her, y/n is just so… amazing, gorgeous, caring, dedicated and just incredible witch I know” Draco said thinking about his loved one
“And how are you going to do it, love?” Narcissa asked with a string of voice
“I’m taking her to Station 9 ¾ and I’m buying her 10 pounds of chocolate frogs, then I’ll drop them by accident and while she’s distracted trying to catch them, I’ll do it” he said proudly
“Just like the day you met” Narcissa said moved by her son’s plan
“Just like when I realized I was in love with y/n” Draco said

“ wow. ” a cheat sheet? more like a cheat textbook. gina porter never fails to amaze him, and his point is driven even further home as he flips through the binder she had set to the side. not just flowers, but also food, decorations, and bridesmaid dresses. HE WAS THE LUCKIEST GUY IN THE WORLD. ricky takes the flower sheet now, looking down it while his finger trails. he got the white roses right. score. the other ones, some tall, blue flowers called larkspur, or something. okay. he can do it. “ what if he tells us to come in person? or asks me more questions about even smaller flowers? god. okay, i can do this. hold my hand? ” he asks, reaching and taking hers before she can even respond. he feels his heart leap when he catches the glimmer of her ring in his eye, a reminder that he won't have to do any of this alone. he can do it. BREATHE, BOWEN. “ okay, here goes. ” he dials the florist again, putting them on speaker as the dial tone rings loudly through their kitchen. sadie's florals, how can i help you? “ hi. my name is ricky bowen, i called earlier about some wedding flowers? and then said i'd have to ask my fiancée about some of the details and that i'd get back to you. ” ah, yes, mr. bowen. were you able to get what we needed? “ i was. we want . . . ” he lists off what she has written down, squeezing gina's hand the whole time. perfect. we'll get back to you with a quote by the end of the day tomorrow. “ thank you so much. ” he breathes out, grinning and hanging up the phone call once their business had finished. “ i did it! and i only felt like dying a little. ”
a smile plays on gina's lips, tugging on the corners of her mouth. wedding planning is stressful. there's so much to think about, from the size of the guest list to flower arrangements and colour schemes - and ricky's handling it all like a champ. truly, she was scared the whole thing might tip him over the edge but he's thrown himself into it full throttle. and, damn, he's so cute when he's stressed. ❝ you've got this, babe. ❞ even gina has to admit these florists are, for lack of a better word, protective over their flowers. she doesn't get easily intimated, but she's kinda glad ricky's biting this particular bullet. she leans over to give his hand a squeeze, placing a quick kiss to his cheek. ❝ here, i made a cheatsheet. ❞ she grabs her combination notebook and binder, the front cover embellised with 'porter-bowen wedding'. from the pages she pulls one of the many lose pieces of paper - this one colour coded with the names of different flowers, what they'll be used for, and colours they want. all with pictures, of course. ❝ i thought it might help. ❞

“Scars are nothing to be ashamed off, you did it to protect someone you care and….” He places his hand on her chin and lean her head back to met his black and red glance. “Your safe here, you don’t have to worry to go back to that life anymore”
You just the tears fall as your face soft and embrace him, feeling safe knowing that you don’t have hide you past to him.
Mammon
“This all your Mammon!” she angerly whisper in his ear, and groan at her pestering.
“ShHH! Quiet, they’ll hear us human-” then you smack him slightly on the back of his head.
“Whoops, you called me human again”
“Hey! Do you really need to- WAIT there’s a car over there” him point out, and quickly book it to the park vehicle and see that it isn’t lock, however?
“Crap! The key isn’t here” he tries to look around, but quickly push to the passenger, and MC sat the driver sit and open up under the steering wheel.
“Why do I have to do everything around here!” she grabs and cut two wires and start hot wire. In second the car starts up and she buckle her seat belt. “Mams, you guys can survive a car to the face?”
“Yeah…. Why- wait!?! What are you-”
“Buckle yourself in!” She quickly steps on the gas, the demons been chasing them heard the engine, but quickly get hit by the car. As the human and avatar of greed make their escape.
“WHAOOO! I have fun thrill in months” as MC enjoy the adrenaline, Mammon looks over to the human that he was suppose to protect, in amaze and fear. He makes a mental note that Lucifer isn’t the only he shouldn’t just provoke.
Leviathan
“This is impossible!” Levi is struggling with a level from a game from the human world that he just bought, while MC behind him, trying to hold her laughter.
Is a mock version of gang game and Levi, is at the level of the game where to rival gangs are fighting each other for territory?
“You’re focusing on the grunts and not the ones who are hiding from afar- look” she grabs the control from Levi and start playing the level like it was nothing, as she explained how and why he keep dying, all the while Levi is both shock with how MC can play and concern about the implication of how she gotten the knowledge.
“There, now you just have to escape, I never good with car chase, only driving really fast- Huh…. Levi was wrong?”
Levi snap from his train of thought and grab the controller from her, and finishing the level.
“MC, were you-”
“Yeah, but left that behind me.”
Satan
MC and Satan are watch Mammon and Levi being strung up by Lucifer from afar.
“I’m surprise, that you’re not phase about this” Satan asks looking over to her, watching why she not reacting on the display of punishment Infront of her.
“EH… I’ve seen worst”
“Really? What worst then this”
“Being killed-”
“What!?! That’s not punishment!”
“You didn’t let me finish, watching someone being killed Infront of you is worst. It’s a way to learn to obey your boss and survive in world”
She looks on to the demons being strung, while Satan is still letting the information sink in, who know that the human was brought to hell, has already lived in one.
Asmodeus
“I’ve been meaning to asks darling, where did you get your scars?” Asmo asks MC as he and her are taking a bath together.
“Which one?”
“Well…. All of them”
“Ah…. All of them are from fights that I got to”
“Why would you go and get in to fights, you’re to precious” Asmo cooed them move closer and grab her hand, and start scrubbing her arm. She laughs as she is tickled by his action.
“You know, for a bunch of demons. your all nicer than other humans back home” pauses for a moment, by continue with a giggle.
“Well, you don’t have to worry anymore. As long I’m here no one will ever lay a finger on you again” and that’s a promise he made to you and himself.
Beelzebub
“I’m glad you like it Beel” MC made Beel a homemade dish from the human world to calm the hungry demon.
“Its so good, I like your cooking”
“Nah…. You would like Sal’s cooking, he’s the one who taught me how to cook this”
“Maybe, if we go to the human world, you might think he’ll cook for me and my brothers”
“Yeah totally! He loves my friends…...but he can’t”
“Why? Did he leave or something?”
“His at prison, he took the blame for me. And said you should get out of this life….. I guess cooking isn’t the only thing I learn from him” she laughs to hide the fact she misses her mentor.
Beel quickly engulfs her in bear hug, and rub her back.
“Is okay, maybe we can visit him someday”
She sighs and let the tears fall as she return the hug.
“I-I’ll like that, thank Beel”
Belphegor
“You’re still up” MC asks Belphie who is standing at the doorway at her room.
“Sorry, I was waiting for you”
“Really why?”
“You been having nightmare with some men with guns, I figure to help you” she let out sharp gasp and turn away from Belphie.
“I’m sorry to keep you up-”
“No! I already cause so much pain; I want to help you to keep those nightmares away. Like I promise.”
She looks back with her eyes widen and clenching his pact mark on her wrist. She hastily grabs his hand with her head hang low.
“P-please…. Make the nightmares go away….”
“Anything for you, I’ll keep the nightmares and the bad men away”
Diavolo
“You like what you see” Diavolo spoke behind MC startling her, Diavolo was shock to her reaction almost bumping into crown in display.
“Oh, I-I wasn’t planning to steal this I swear-”
“Calm down, I trust you. Sorry for startling you.”
“You trust me, even with my background” she mutters, and look directly at Diavolo’s eyes to see if his lying or not.
“I didn’t look in to your past, only your connection with Lilith. I believe in Demons, Angel, and Humans can have second chances. If you’re a good person now, as long you learn from your past. I don’t see to bring up old scars”
“Thank you, My lord”
“Please, Call me Diavolo”
“I don’t think Lucifer will like that”
Barbatos
MC is inside Barbatos room, helping him clean, to the surprise of the demon butler seeing that he didn’t help in clean. But he can’t refuse the human.
But then she stops and look at the door she uses in going back in time in the time of the “Incident”
“Barbatos, can you see any path where I stayed in the human world and never came here in the first places”
“I’m afraid, I am forbidden to use my powers like that, why may I ask what makes you think of that?”
“I think, I got the luckiest path. And I’m thankfully for this. I think I’ll be in the side of the road-”
Suddenly Barbatos places a hand on her shoulder, causing her to look at the demon.
“Its better not to think of what could’ve happen and focus on your presents self”
Simeon
“Simeon, am I bad person?” She asks while Simeon is writing a draft of his story.
“No, why do you ask?”
“You’re the closes person to being pure and good, is it good for me to threaten people even though I was just following orders”
Simeon stop writing and put the quill down, and look over to MC.
“Did they threat you?”
“Yes”
“Did you, like doing things like that to other?”
“No!” she quickly sat up to that question.
“Are you willing to do that again?”
“Never!”
“Then you’re a good person.”
Solomon
Solomon and MC are at purgatory hall practicing spells for class, when MC spill the potion on to herself, then she starts taking off her shirt, leaving Solomon blushing and turning his back to give her some privacy.
“MC!?! Warner me next time, before you start striping.”
“Sorry, force of habit”
“What you always spill potion on yourself all the time, back home” she looks with bows rise up.
“Oh… No, every time I get back home from a job, I’m usually covered in blood and I don’t want to leave any evidence behind”
“W-what exactly, are those “Jobs” of yours?”
“I you know shady things, if you can keep secrets about yourself. Then I have secrets of my own” she smiled teasing him.
But to him, its no tease.
Luke
“Luke, little advise from me. Don’t be like Mammon or Me” MC and Luke watches Mammon, Levi and Solomon playing poker in class waiting the bell to ring.
“I know Mammon shouldn’t be followed, but you’re a good person I don’t see why you rope yourself with him.”
“Oh sweetie, I’m just nice to people I care about. I don’t care for others outside my gan- never mind”
“Wha-” then the bell rings, and Mammon rushes and grab MC by arm and dragging her out the classroom.
Leaving Luke confuse and worried.

"I love you most."| t.h.
pairing: actor!tom x reader

listen to clinton kane's i guess i'm in love
--------------------------------------------------------------
“So do you, Y/N Y/L/N take Tom as your lawfully wedded husband?” The priest asks you while you and Tom look at him with impatience in your eyes.
“I do.” You say, making everyone cheer and making Tom smile.
“And do you Tom Ho-” “I do!” He shouts before the priest could even complete his sentence, making everyone at the altar erupt into laughs.
“Let him finish bubba” You laugh along, signalling the priest to go on when Tom mutters a small ‘sorry’ to him.
“Do you, Tom Holland, take Y/N Y/L/N as your lawfully wedded wife?” He asks again, while Tom looks at you with nothing but adoration in his eyes.
“I do.” And everyone cheers once again, and you gently squeeze his hand.
“So I shall now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.” The priest says lastly before getting off the stage and as if on queue, Tom sweeps you under his arms and holds your waist before pressing his lips to yours. The moment was wholeheartedly content, his and your parents, both with tears in their eyes, even Paddy and Harry shed a few, because the moment was so pure to just not cry at. Tom kisses you as if he was the luckiest man on Earth, like he had achieved something which he thought he could never. He pulls back to look at you beaming with the biggest smile he’s seen on you in years, and smiles to himself once again.
This was the best day of both of your lives till now, and there was no doubt about it.
After 4 years of being together, Tom finally proposed to you, and then forgot where he kept the ring, but you couldn’t care less because the man you were in love with was now, going to be a forever favourite in your lives. And today, he was now your husband from your fiance, and you couldn’t be anymore happier.
You both settle down after roaming from one place to another greeting every guest that had attended your wedding, finally for a drink and some food. Harrison sits right behind you, completing the duties of best man with all his will, and you smile at him. The twins and Paddy come in a bit later, but your eyes are looking for someone else. Where’s Tom? Your question was answered when you hear the clinking of a glass, just to find your handsome husband there.
“May I have your attention please?” He looks directly at you and you blow him a kiss, him pretending to catch it making everyone laugh. Actors.
“Thank you all for attending and being a part of our very wonderful day, I swear you guys are our favourite people” He says while chuckling.
“Today is the day I married my wonderful and stunning lover, Y/N and in recognition of that, I decided to give you the best gift of this evening.” He says, making you wonder what he got for you.
“I remember when Y/N once told me that she always loves heartfelt and handmade gifts filled with love more than people buying her the gift of her choice. She likes the element of surprise, as she likes to say. So Y/N my darling, I thought you might notice and scold me for it but you didn’t, not even once in this 4 year old relationship, and trust me this is going to shock you. I’ve managed to record every important and goofy moment of our lives, from falling on a staircase to the time I proposed to you, I have it all. I’ve compiled them into one sweet video for you, while your favourite singer of them all, Mr. Clinton Kane sings a song for us! Please give him a huge round of applause!” You jerk your head to the place where Clinton enters from, and he waves at you making you wave instinctively as well.
You look back again towards Tom, who was smiling sweetly at your little fangirl moment and continues.
“I’d also like to thank Harrison and Harry for helping me edit this video, because I’m literally so dumb without anyone of these four with me.”
“Can you put the lights out and start the video please?” He asks one of the workers there at the venue, and jogs up to sit down beside you, giving you a small peck while you take a hold of his hand.
And on queue, the lights are dimmed and the video starts to play. You can hear the faint strumming of the guitar that Clinton is currently playing, but you aren’t able to identify the song just yet. You look ahead towards the screen, and your eyes light up when you see Tom dressed up in his wedding tuxedo, you finally realising that this bit was filmed just a few hours ago.
“Hello my lovely wife! Well, I’m filming this part before the ceremony starts but I think I’m pretty certain on showing you this video after we’re married. This was...boring. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the video my love, and don’t hit me when we get home! I love you so so so much, enjoy!” He says before shutting off his camera, while everyone laughs at his goofiness and you glare at him playfully. The video rolls again and you look forward, but suddenly realise the song. It’s ‘I Guess I’m In Love’, you say to yourself. Tom had proposed to you after a few days when the song came out, and somehow on the night of him proposing, this song was played. You labelled it ‘our song’ and he happily obliged.
“Haz hold the camera correctly for god's sake...” You hear your husband’s voice and move your head towards the screen, smiling brightly.
“Oh I’m obsessed. With the way your head is laying on my chest.” Clinton starts, immediately soothed by the presence of your lover and the melody in your ears.
“I am holding the camera nicely mate bugger off! Nikki taught me well!” Harrison says in the background making everyone giggle.
“She’s coming shut up”
“What’s this Tom?” You ask him, as he looks at you like a kid in love.
“Y/N”
“Tom” You say in the same manner, feeling anxious by the second.
“So we’ve been dating for 4 years and trust me those have been the most beautiful four years of my life. I know this is so out of the blue, but Y/N Y/L/N, will you do the favour of marrying the person who loves you immensely? A.k.a. Tom?" He says and you laugh. You hold on for a few seconds, looking in his eyes which were filled with desperation.
"Yes" You say and his face lights up like a Christmas tree. He can't stop beaming and searches for the ring in his pocket, only to find out that he didn't have it.
"Oh I'm a mess. When I overthink the little things in my head."
"I have the ring I promise." He says, moving frantically.
"Tom-"
"I swear I kept the ring in my pocket-"
"Tom-"
"How can I be this stupid you probably don't want to marry me anymore-"
"TOM!" He jerks his head towards you as you shout his name.
"It's okay. I just want you right now." You say and he immediately hugs you, the tightest of them all.
The clip ends and you knew the tears were coming very soon, Tom senses the action and rubs your knuckles., giving you a hearty smile.
The second clip rolls in soon, your eyes brightening almost instantly.
"You seem to always help me catch my breath. But then I lose it again, when I look at you, that's the end."
"Why the hell are we on the top of the Eiffel Tower? And why do you want your phone to crash?" You ask him, while he struggles to make a video with his phone while the winds roar at the top of the monument.
"Because I want to remember this moment!" He shouts, making you smile even more.
"My goof"
"Your goof"
"You're lucky I love you"
"I wouldn't have it any other way darling" He says and gives you a quick peck on the lips, this moment too pure to realise.
"Why do I get so nervous when I look into your eyes? And butterflies can't stop me falling for you."
"Now we may invite, a very handsome young lad, who happens to be Spiderman, Mr. Tom Holland!" Harry shouts in the video, while you all pretended to have a grand gala when you couldn't attend Tom's premiere.
He walks in wearing a black tuxedo, his shirt buttons open from the top, looking dashing.
"Thank you for inviting Harold, but please, call the star of today's night." Tom says, making everyone groan about how in love he was with you.
"Patience Thomas. Now may I present, the queen of today's night, Ms. Y/N Y/L/N!" Everyone applauds as you walk down the stairs as you hear your name. You reach the door wearing a red and black dress, the clothing complementing your body more than ever. Everyone seems to keep clapping but your attention is towards that one dummy, who's standing like he's seen a ghost.
"..Oh wow." He's speechless, and everyone knows it. You blush at your boyfriend's gesture and nudge him in the shoulder, as a signal to stop staring.
"I hope you all understand that I scored a jackpot, thank you" He sees and everybody laughs.
You laugh along with the other guests, remembering the faint memory from over two years back. This was one of the most fun nights you've had with Tom. While you laugh at the clip, all Tom can do is stare at you in awe. How did he get so lucky, he thinks. He watches how your face glows when you see someone happy on the screen. He truly was blessed.
"And darling this is more than anything I've felt before. You're everything that I want, but I didn't think I'd find. Someone who was worth the wait of all the years of my heartbreak. But I know now I've found the one I love."
"Please don't go" You sniffle on Tom's shoulder, asking him to stay one last time before his flight leaves for Atlanta.
"If it was in my hands darling I'd never leave your side." He says, trying to hold back tears.
"It's okay, I understand." You say, pulling back and clearing your throat.
"Awh Y/N please don't cry." Tom tries to persuade his emotions by telling you to stop, but a tear falls down his cheeks in an instant.
"I'm sorry." You say, chuckling lightly, making Tom chuckle too.
"I'll be back before you know it."
"I know you will be"
"Please board the flight for Atlanta which leaves at 1330 hours" The flight attendant announces, and you know it's time to let him go.
"Come back home to me soon okay?" You say, wiping your tears.
"As soon as possible"
"I love you" He says.
"I love you more."
"I love you most." You can't argue with that now.
"Bye bubba" You say, giving him one last kiss, a very long one indeed, that left you both searching for oxygen.
"Bye darling" And he leaves to board his flight. You look in the same direction until he disappears and you turn around.
"Harrison, are you crying?"
"No-" He sniffles and you laugh.
You knew you were going to cry as soon as you saw the location. This was one of the hardest moments of your life, letting your lover go away from you for so long, and you weren't ready for that. You wiped your tears while Tom rubbed your hand with one of his, the other cleaning his tear stained face. You look back to see Harrison crying once again, and you laugh a bit at him before giving him your hand for comfort. He really was the best man. You blow a kiss to your family and Tom's, who were currently high on emotions. Even the brothers had tears in their eyes. You really did get the best family.
"And I love the way. You can never find the right things to say. And you can't sit still an hour in the day. I'm so in love, let's run away because us is enough."
The rest of the video were some clips of you and Tom being goofy and so in love, which were a delight to watch. The song played in the background, adding its own special touch, which was necessary to bind this moment together. All these moments which Tom managed to shoot secretly were a lifelong reminder of how much your person loved you. He loved you.
And that is all you need.
The video gets over and Tom looks at you with puppy eyes.
"So, how was it?"
"You're the reason my makeup is ruined and I have mascara stains" You say, laughing while crying.
"That good, huh?"
"That good." You say and he pulls you in for a hug and kisses your forehead.
"I love you bubba"
"I love you more" He says, kissing your cheek.
"I love you most."
He couldn't argue with that.
"But I know now I've found the one I love."

Reconcile
happy christmas eve, you lot! i’ve got a little present for you. enjoy this 10,5k of nearly divorced harry trying to win his wife and bitter nine year old daughter back. oh and i threw in a little baby goat in the mix too since it’s set in the peak district and i just couldn’t resist 🥳
“Penny for your thoughts.”
He turned to look at her, who was giggling as she leaned closer to him. She was most definitely not a giggler sober, but he found out that a copious amount of alcohol could turn her into one. He felt slightly guilty knowing that she was going to be hungover as hell in the morning, but she was having a great time.
And so was he.
“I was just thinking about how great you are, how lucky I am to be sitting next to you right now and that you need to drink more water because otherwise, you’d be miserable tomorrow,” he says with a smile as he twisted the cap and handed her the bottle of water.
That goofy smile of hers turned into a gooey smile of affection. “That’s so sweet,” she murmured, taking a gulp of water and handed the bottle back to him so he could take some too. She then tilted her head, giving him a doe-eyed look and asked, “what else do you like about me?”
“Let’s see,” he put a finger to his chin and tapped. “Well, I love how kind and inclusive you are, how you always care about people and that you always see the good in everyone.”
Her smile grew sappier.
“Oh,” he gave her a sly grin. “I also love that thing you do with your tongue on the underside of my cock.”
She burst out laughing. But then she leaned even closer to him and whispered huskily in his ear, “I’ll do that very thing when we get back to the hotel.”
His eyes widened and he wanted nothing more than just to drag her back to their hotel suite and take up on her offer. But he’d promised her that he’d show her around Vegas since she’d never been before, and he wanted to keep that promise.
“Wanna know what I like about you?” She turned to him, still with a gooey smile on her face.
“Do I ever,” he smirked.
“I like that you’re hands down the kindest human I’ve ever met,” she began. “You’re genuine, and grounded. Funny too. I truly hit the jackpot with you. I’m the luckiest girl on earth.”
“Oh,” she added as an afterthought. “And you’re really good with your tongue.”
He wanted to laugh, because she always made him laugh. But he was still stuck on the fact that she thought she was lucky to be with him. He felt exactly the same way about her, like this was always meant to be.
“I wasn’t looking for this,” he admitted honestly. “I know it’s only been six weeks, but I really can’t imagine never having met you.”
“Me too,” her eyes were bright, shining with excitement. “It’s weird, right? Because I swear I’ve never felt such a deep connection with someone this quick.”
“Do you believe in soulmates?” He murmured. “That there’s a perfect person for everyone out there?”
She tilted her head. “Do you think that’s us?”
There was no hesitation in his answer. “I do think that might be us.”
“I think so too,” she said with a tender smile.
This was real.
He was overwhelmed with the understanding that she was his, and he never wanted to let her go.
So he suggested what any sane, semi-drunk man would at that moment. “We’re in Vegas. We should get married.”
***
Harry
Pulling into the drive of what used to be our holiday cottage, but is now where my wife and children live full-time without me, feels strange to me. There’s that moment of what feels like a homecoming—that sense of belonging somewhere where I feel safe, and I know my happiness is inside.
But now, for the first time in ten years, there’s a sense of detachment that I know I’ve got to put in place. It is why I need to take a moment or two in the car before I walk inside to sort myself out and put on a shield. A shield which lets me walk inside, and be okay with the fact that I don’t live there anymore even just for the holidays.
This charming little cottage, which can’t exactly be called little since it is quite spacious and has three bedrooms, has always been more of a second home rather than a holiday home for us. We used to come here often, sometimes even only for the weekends. I’ve always loved this place. Now, looking back, I realised that many of the happiest times during our marriage were spent in this home.
It was where we spent the first few weeks soaking in newlywed bliss after that whirlwind of a trip to Las Vegas when we decided out of nowhere to tie the knot. Then there were the sleepless nights with a wailing newborn, because even though both of our babies were born in London, we always whisked them off here to Bakewell shortly after so we were close enough that both sets of their grandparents could dote on them during the first few weeks of their lives.
After I exit the car, I walk up to the front door and ring the doorbell. I don’t feel comfortable walking in as I respect that this is YN’s sanctuary now. The wait isn’t long, because in just a few seconds, the door is opened and there’s my wife, looking like a breath of fresh air.
It had been eight long months since the last time I saw her. Last time was the night when she asked me to leave our marital home, and I fled to LA first thing the next morning. I talked daily with the kids on the phone, but I didn’t really recall ever getting the chance to talk to her aside from the quick polite greetings before she handed her phone to the kids.
“Hey,” she says, her expression a bit guarded. I’ve missed her so much that it takes everything in me to keep myself from pulling her into my arms and kiss the fuck out of her. “Come in.”
“You alright?” I ask her as I follow her into the house. This may sound like I’m just making a small talk, but I’m not. I’m genuinely curious and I want to know how she’s doing.
But she doesn’t even respond to my question. All I get is a head-tilt motioning towards the kitchen. “They’re in the kitchen.”
My gaze immediately lands on the accent table that holds a lot of photos and a key bowl. I silently let out a sigh of relief seeing YN hasn’t removed all of the family photos with me in it. It’s a good sign, but I don’t have much hope behind that. Maybe that’s just her trying to keep everything as normal as possible at home for the kids.
My wife and I never had a big fight when we separated. It had been somewhat rational, but still emotional, discussion. She wasn’t angry, she was just done. And I didn’t fight for her. Instead, yours truly here walked away the next morning and didn’t look back.
I’ve done a lot of dumb things in my life. But nothing ever compares to that. That was pretty fucking stupid on my part, and I know I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.
I’ve accepted that maybe this is my punishment for being a shit husband to a wonderful woman who doesn’t deserve to be treated like a second best. She did the right thing by kicking me to the curb, and I’d never resent her for it. If I could turn back time and change everything, I would in a heartbeat. I’d try harder to be a better husband, a better father, put my family first. But I can’t. Now all I can do is just try not to be a dickhead and make things harder for her than it already is. It’s too late for me to try to be a better husband, but it isn’t for me to try to be the best father that my children deserve.
I follow my wife through the living room and into the kitchen, and I’d be dead not to check out her arse in those leggings. It’s something I quickly avert my eyes from, though, as I realise both of my children are sitting at the kitchen island, eating scones with their tea.
George, my six-year-old, is the first to turn his head and hop off from the island stool to jump into my arms. “Daddeeeeee!”
“My Booger Butt,” I greet my little lad with a smile as I squat down to be on his level before scooping him up into my arms. Booger Butt is one of the countless nicknames I have for him, and one that never fails to make him double over in laughter whenever he hears it. He’s also Mr Tadpole Climbing a Beanpole sometimes, and he used to be Sir Screams-a-Lot when he was a baby. He thinks they’re hilarious, and he’d always respond by calling me Baddy Daddy.
“I‘ve missed you so much, Baddy Daddy,” he says sweetly as he nuzzles his head into the crook of my neck and I swear if I don’t pull myself together right this second, I’m going to cry.
“I’ve missed you more, mate,” I say as I ruffle his hair and kiss his cheek. “I love you.”
My daughter doesn’t seem fazed by the father and son reunion behind her and continues munching on her scone without even giving me a glance. With my left arm full of my son, I walk up to her and ruffle her hair just like I did with her little brother. “Hey Silly Putty Pudding Pie,” I greet her with one of her nicknames, hoping to get her to laugh. But she ignores me, taking a sip of her brew instead.
I don’t want to give up, so I lean to the side and bend to put my face close to hers. I try again, “hello to you too, poppet.”
“Whatever,” she mumbles around a mouthful of scone.
“Minnie,” YN growls, her tone filled with warning.
This is why I respect YN so much. I hurt her badly, broke her heart, and it would’ve been so easy for her to use Minnie as a pawn and turn my child against me. But every time, even on the phone, whenever she is present, she never let Minnie be disrespectful to me in any way.
My gaze moves to my wife—yes I’m still going to refer to her as my wife since she still is, albeit only on paper—and she gives me an apologetic look. I give a slight shake of my head, telling her silently to let it go.
She takes the last bite of her scone and puts the dish in the sink, before walking to the staircase without giving me a second glance. I can see YN trying to hold her tongue from further rebuking our daughter, and I give her a small smile, my silent way of telling her ‘it’s okay.’
“Sorry about that,” she mutters, referring to Minnie’s attitude. She grabs a mug from the cupboard, then holds it up in silent invitation. I nod, and she turns to the pot. “I can’t keep up with her mood shifts anymore.”
“It’s alright,” I tell her, willing to take my share of the blame. “I’m sure the shift has everything to do with me.”
“Not true,” she replies as she pours the coffee into our mugs, adding a splash of milk to hers but keeping mine just like that because she knows I take my coffee black. “She’s been like that with me as well and I’m not sure why. She’s only nine but she acts as if she’s thirteen already.”
I can’t help but laugh and turn to my little lad. “Can you be six forever?”
“No,” he says immediately without even taking a second to think.
“Just no?”
“No,” he gives me a toothy grin. “I want a lego city set but mummy said it’s for eight-year-olds. So I cannot wait to be eight.”
I set him on the counter and give him a conspiratorial smirk before I whisper to him. It’s a little too loud to be considered a whisper, but I want my wife to hear it. “Tell you what, we’ll get one of those sets tomorrow on our day out.”
His eyes light up instantly and my wife rolls her eyes jokingly, “I hear that.” Jokingly, because I know for sure she doesn’t mind me spoiling our children. She does it too.
“Where are you taking them tomorrow?”
“To your mum’s pudding shop for breakfast, then probably fishing, and the toys shop now apparently,” I tell her our itinerary. I have the kids for the whole day tomorrow since it’s Saturday. It’s bittersweet because I’ve missed my children and I can’t wait to spend time with them, but I’m also sad because what I wouldn’t give to turn tomorrow into a family day out instead. I know she would most likely decline, but I can’t help offer her, “would you like to come with us?”
She gives me a subtle shake of her head. “No thanks. Enjoy it, it’s your time with them.”
***
I’m renting a room above The Old Nags Head during my stay here. I plan to stay for a week before I have to go back to London, and even though the thought of having to leave my children again is killing me, I’m trying to cheer myself up by reminding myself that it’ll be Christmas soon enough and I’ll get to visit again.
But then I’ll have to leave again.
And visit again, but knowing in just a week or two, I would have to say goodbye to them again.
Fuck, this is killing me. I’m a family man through and through, and not being with them physically hurts. I shouldn’t be in this room sulking alone. I should be there in that home with my wife and children, probably helping Minnie and George with their homework or making dinner for all of us.
I was prepared to sulk some more, but then I heard a knock on the door. I was not expecting company so I’ve got no idea who it is, and I’m quite surprised when I see Jamie, YN’s brother as I open the door.
We were quite close, but now that I broke his little sister’s heart, I can’t tell if this is a pleasant visit or if he’s just here to knock me square on my arse.
“Got time for tea downstairs?” He asks
Honestly, I haven’t got any appetite. But I could use a few pints so I nod and lock the door behind me, following him downstairs to the pub.
The Old Nags Head is the oldest and most famous pub in Bakewell. The pub itself is a former smithy dating back to the 16th century, and certainly looks the part; thick stone walls, low ceilings, welcoming log fires and dark timber beams. The pub remains at the centre of the community, as it has been for hundreds of years. It offers the best classic pub grubs, and even has its own ale called the Nags 1577.
It’s the perfect place to drown my sorrows.
Except, the current owner of that very pub happens to be none other than my wife’s granddad whom everyone here calls Pop. Out of all members of her family, she is the closest to Pop, so I know for sure that I’m the last person he wants to see.
We sit at the bar table facing the window, which is good because Pop is behind the main bar, and this way I don’t have to actually talk to him.
“Ya want owt?” Jamie asks as he does a quick perusal of the menu. I’m not even sure why he bothers, because even I know what he’s going to order. It’s Pop’s signature steak and ale pie. Ten years of being his brother in law, not once I ever saw him order something else.
“Just a pint,” I tell him.
It doesn’t take long after Jamie orders his food and our drinks before two pints are placed before us, and we each take a savouring sip.
And then Jamie point-blank asks me, “so what did you do?”
I really can’t tell anything from his expression, because he keeps his face blank. But I give him a bark of mirthless laughter. “It’s what I didn’t do, mate. She didn’t say anything?”
“Not a word,” he shakes his head, “what didn’t you do?”
“I stopped paying attention to my wife. Got caught up in my career. The travelling for tours she understood, but it was when I was home and hanging out more with my bandmates than with my family that she couldn’t forgive. And what little time I had left, I gave to Minnie and George. I think I just stupidly assumed she would always be there for me, no matter what.”
“Was there any infidelity?” He asks.
“God, no,” I shake my head hard. “You know I’d never do that to your sister. I love her, and she’s more than enough for me.”
Obviously, I’m not going to tell him this, but ironically, our sex life didn’t diminish. We were combustible in bed, and my mistake was in thinking that was enough for her.
I look at the pudding shop right across the street as I take another sip, and I nearly choke on my beer when I see a familiar face walking out of the shop.
“What in the ever-loving fuck?” I growl.
That’s my wife, walking out of her mum’s pudding shop. She is not alone. There’s a guy with his hand pressed to her lower back while her head is tipped back, laughing at something he’s saying. I suddenly feel sick to my stomach when the bastard’s palm drops from my wife’s back to take her hand, lacing his fingers with hers. She smiles, all doe-eyed, as they walk to God knows where.
“What?” Jamie looks at me confused for a second, but then he follows my gaze and he finally sees what’s causing me distress. “Oh, that.”
“You knew about that?”
He nods. “She’s been seeing him for about three weeks now.”
“Fuck,” I mutter and pinch the bridge of my nose.
“She didn’t tell you?” Jamie asks and I shake my head.
“Three weeks you said?”
Jamie nods again. “He makes her happy.”
“I’m her husband,” I can’t help but say bitterly. “I should be the one making her happy.”
“Look, I’m sorry mate,” he offers, I know he’s trying his best to keep his tone neutral. “Maybe you need to get back in the dating game too. It’ll distract you.”
“I don’t want to fucking date anyone else,” I growl.
“I know it’s hard to get back in the saddle,” he adds sympathetically.
“I don’t want to get out of my current saddle,” I grumble. “I want to keep my current saddle with my wife in it.”
Jamie blinks in surprise, hell I’m even surprised at what I’ve just said out loud because I’ve never admitted this since we split. When YN asked me to leave, I assumed right away that my marriage was over. I didn’t want it to, but I thought there was nothing I could do.
But now, seeing her laughing at another man’s joke and his hand holding hers, I just know that I can’t let her go without a fight.
“Have you told her this?” He asks curiously.
I shake my head again. “We haven’t got the chance to have a civil conversation these days.”
“Then I suggest you stop being such a bloody whinge bucket and have a civil conversation with your wife.”
My shoulders immediately sag in defeat. “I know. I need to sit down with her and tell her how I feel.”
“Which is?” He presses.
“That I want her back,” I mutter.
“You’ve got to have a better plan than that,” he points out. “I mean… I’m not a marriage therapist, but I’m pretty sure that you’ve got to be prepared to fix the shit first.”
I can’t help but tilt my head towards the pudding shop where my wife had just walked out the door. “She’s moved on. You said it yourself that he makes her happy. Tell me how to compete with that.”
“Make her happier,” he says simply. I can only let out a heavy sigh, but I know that's solid advice. “Listen, if you really want to save your marriage, you need to make it work. Romance her again. Lots of flowers, nice romantic dinners out. Compliments, chocolates. All that sort of thing.”
“You think that’ll work?”
“I don’t know,” he answers truthfully. “But I do know that you’ll regret it for the rest of your life if you don’t do anything about it.”
***
My emotions are a mixed bag this morning. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to spend the whole day with my kids, but the fact that I have just learnt last night that my wife is currently seeing another man doesn’t sit right with me.
I know Jamie was right. If I want to save my marriage, I need to get my head out of my arse and do something to win my wife back. Sure, I don’t even know where to start since she doesn’t give me the time of day. But I do know that starting today, I’m a man on a mission. It’s Operation Conquer YN: day 1.
It’s currently 8:40am, which means I’m twenty minutes early. I hope the kids won’t be ready yet, so I’ll get a chance to talk for a little bit to my wife.
When I ring the doorbell, I can hear George pounding down the stairs, yelling, “I got it!”
The door flies open and he jumps into my arms right away. My little lad truly misses me, and it really does warm my heart. Now, I love my children equally, but before I got here yesterday, I thought Minnie would be the one to jump all over me since she’s a daddy’s girl through and through, while George has always been a mummy’s boy since the day he was born.
But again, I should’ve known. Since YN and I split, Minnie sort of puts herself in her mum’s corner. Every time I actually got the chance to talk to her on the phone when I was still in LA, it was always extremely short before she quickly handed her mum’s phone to her little brother. I try not to take her behaviour to heart, because I guess it’s what nine-year-olds do when they don’t quite understand why their parents aren’t together. They just need someone to blame, and my daughter is way more mature than her age. She’s bloody smart too, which she definitely takes after her mum, and I know that she knows it’s my fault that her mum and I separated.
Now that I think of it, it’s not just my wife that I desperately need to win back. But also my daughter.
“Daddy!” George chirps. He’s got a milk moustache and the sight never fails to get me to chuckle. “You’re early.”
“I know,” I reply with a tender smile. “I just can’t wait to spend the day with you lot.”
“I’m going to get ready!” He announces excitedly as he squirms in my arms wanting to be put down, and he runs up the stairs before I can even reply.
I look around, and my gaze lands on the sofa, a hazel leather sofa that YN picked out. It’s so comfy and I could nap there forever.
Then there’s the coffee table, where YN, Minnie, George and I sat around and played board games. Catan is our family’s favourite, followed closely by Monopoly.
The corner where we always put the Christmas tree, right next to the fireplace. And every year it didn’t matter how hard I tried, I could never get the bloody thing to stay straight.
I miss this little cottage. Sure, the house in South Kensington is our marital house, but this cosy little cottage in the middle of nowhere feels more like home to me. And now I truly get why YN was so adamant to move here permanently after we separated, didn't matter how hard I tried to persuade her to stay in London.
“You’re early,” my wife blinks in surprise, but quickly masks it. “Minnie darling, go and get ready.”
“Do I really have to go?” My nine-year-old whines and I feel a pang. She really doesn’t want to spend time with me.
“Minnie, that’s not nice,” YN reprimands her before I can stop her.
“I’ve missed you, poppet,” I say, wanting to look at her in the eyes but she refuses to meet my gaze. Which hurts, but it’s fine. I know it’ll take some time for her to warm up to me. “I want to spend the day with you and your brother. I promise I’ll try to make it fun for you both.”
“Fine,” she replies, before marching up the stairs to her room. There’s still a hint of sulkiness in her tone, but at least I didn’t get a heavy sigh. I know it’s a small win but honestly, it’s better than none.
“Coffee’s in the pot,” she tells me politely from where she’s sitting at the island. She has her laptop open before her, and I can see her writing an email. I bet she’s working today, even if it’s Saturday, because my wife is such a hard-worker. She works remotely for a consulting firm and I’m beyond proud of her.
I nod and pour the coffee, and I let the silence carry on for a bit before saying, “saw you getting cosy with your new boyfriend last night.”
She instantly looks up from her laptop, giving me a death glare. Her tone is defensive when she says, “that’s none of your business.”
“You could’ve at least told me that you were seeing someone,” I tell her, making elaborate gestures with my coffee mug.
“Why would I do that?” She retorts defensively. “Last time I checked, you didn’t give a shit about me when we were married. Why on earth would I assume you do now?”
Hearing that, it feels like Chuck Norris himself just kicked me in the nuts. I can only mutter, “we’re still married.”
“Not for long,” she replies faintly.
“Don’t say that,” I say, my breath a little jagged. “We can still fix this, darling. I know we can.”
“Are you mad?” She snaps, but then she takes a deep breath, and her tone is a lot calmer when she adds, “Harry, it’s too late.”
“No, it’s not. It’s never too late to get our marriage back on track,” I plead desperately. “Would you at least give me a shot?”
“What do you mean?” She frowns.
“You can continue to see Mr Wife-stealer-”
“He’s not a wife-stealer,” she snaps, cutting me off. “He’s got a name.”
“Well, he’s stealing my wife,” I grumble like a stroppy child.
“You’re being such a child,” she retorts. “His name is Luke, he’s a decent guy, and he makes me happy.”
“I’m not afraid to go head to head with him,” I say defiantly.
“Fuck’s sake, Harry, we’re not on a bloody Love Island,” she says in exasperation. “Two children are involved here, this isn’t a game.”
“I know it isn’t,” I reply with a sigh. “Just please give me another shot, darling. Let me remind you how great we were together.”
“You mean the sex?” She demands, one side of her upper lip curls in a sneer.
I bend my head and murmur, “we were dynamite in the sack, weren’t we?”
I see the flash in her eyes as she remembers, and it makes me want to beat my chest in victory. But the euphoric feeling is short-lived when she says, “a relationship is so much more than just sex. If you don’t understand it then-”
“I do, fuck, I do know that,” I cut her off in a strangled, desperate voice. “At least let me try, darling. Fuck if I’m letting you go without a fight.”
We lapse into silence as she gives me a sceptical look, and I know in this moment that my biggest challenge is to regain her trust, as well as accepting the fact that she has someone else fighting for her attention.
I know this will be tough, because I let her down over and over again. And worse, I let my children down too, because I was never quite able to make my family my highest priority. It was all my fault, I knew it then, still do now. That’s why when she asked me to leave, I couldn’t even argue. I was a shit husband and father, and I deserved that.
Trying to win Minnie is probably going to be the easiest because beneath this ‘tweenage’ attitude going on, I know she is a sweet girl who loves her daddy. I need to devote more attention to her, maybe take her on some daddy-daughter dates. I know it’ll work because I’ve never given her enough on a consistent basis.
YN is going to be the most difficult, because I really broke her heart. I’ve been married to her for ten years, so I can say with confidence that I know for sure she would never fall for things like flowers or gifts. I have to show her that I genuinely want to fix our marriage, and that my interest in her is real. It’ll be like starting all over again.
And on top of that, she’s seeing someone else and she said it herself that he does make her happy. I know she’s not lying about it, as Jamie also told me the same thing last night and I saw with my own eyes how she laughed with him last night. Seeing that killed me, because I don’t have the ability to make her laugh like that anymore, but I couldn’t deny that there was a small part of me that was happy for her.
She may have sneered when I insinuated I’d be glad to remind her of the good times, but I saw it in her eyes. There was still a slight burn, and that might just have to be my angle.
But then I remember our last time together. It was only two days before she asked me to leave and I remember coming home mid-morning after a meeting with my manager and publicist to find her lying in our bed, clad in sexy lingerie. I had my mouth on every inch of her, a good deal of time between her legs, and after she reciprocated by taking me into her mouth.
The kids were in school, and apparently, she took a sick day because I had told her the night before that I only had one meeting in the morning that day. After, she cuddled in close, and we talked for a while. She seemed happy, but then there was a hint of hesitation in her voice when she suggested, “fancy just spending all day in bed until school pick-ups?”
I mean, what man in his right mind would say no to that? The kids were gone for at least another five hours, I had a gorgeous wife naked and wanting more of what we just did…
Yet, I’d said no. “Sorry, doll. I’m meeting the lads at the studio in about an hour.”
I didn’t see it then, but I do now and it’s clear as day. The look on her face had been blank, and there wasn’t even disappointment like she would usually show me. She hadn’t tried to get me to change my mind. There hadn’t been a guilt-laden frown to give me pause.
I realise now what it was.
It was the moment my wife finally gave up on me.
My chest constricts as it finally dawns on me the pain she must have been feeling. I’m not just talking about that day. That had been our life for several years.
No wonder she asked me to leave.
No wonder she’s moving on with Mr Wife-stealer.
No wonder that, at this moment, I realise I’ve got tons of work to do because sex isn’t going to be the answer in winning my wife back.

“Will the baby just eat when you give it the bottle?” Minnie asks her uncle Jamie as the four of us gaze at the baby goat in front of us. For the first time since yesterday, I actually see the slight curve up of lips that form a fond smile. Seeing that smile on my daughter’s face, I’m glad we didn’t go fishing and end up going to the barn instead. We were actually already on our way, but Jamie texted me that the mother goat had given birth this morning, and he wanted me to tell Minnie and George. The goats are a new addition to the farm, so they have been so excited to see baby goats. I knew from the look in their eyes that they would have a much better time seeing baby goats rather than fishing.
It turns out that there’s only one baby goat, because the other one sadly didn’t make it. And the dam isn’t producing milk, so the kid needs to be bottle-fed until the mother is producing again. I can’t help but smile fondly at the baby goat too because it’s adorable. It’s a soft little white goat with a pink nose and ears. The dam is a Pygmy but since it has blue eyes, Jamie thinks she must have Nigerian Dwarf genes somewhere in her.
“It’s a female… a doeling,” Jamie tells her. “And she will if she’s hungry. You want to try to feed her? Look, she’s hungry again.”
We watch for a moment as the baby goat walks on wobbly legs, bleating in hunger. Jamie mixes the powdered formula and makes a bottle for her, then he hands the bottle to Minnie.
But Minnie shakes her head. “Maybe next time. I want to see you do it first.”
“Alright then,” Jamie nods, then turns towards my little lad. “How about you, mate? Wanna feed her?”
“No thank you,” says George as he shakes his head, and then he giggles, “she smells funny.”
“Can I do it?” I ask and Jamie nods as he hands me the bottle.
I sit down against the wall with my children sitting on either side of me. And as if the goat can sense that I hold the key to filling her empty belly, the doeling starts to prance in excitement and falls over a few times due to what I assume is clumsiness. I love that she can walk normally but still choose chaos—honestly, she could’ve been my third child. There’s no stopping the surge of fondness that swells within me as I watch her little antics.
“Come here little crumpet,” I coo at the goat.
The little goat scrambles right onto my lap, bleating hungrily. I wrap my arm around her and tip the bottle. She latches on instantly, and Minnie and George are aww-ing and ooh-ing over the way the baby goat’s little tail swishes back and forth so fast in ecstatic happiness as she drinks her milk.
“You’re a hungry little thing, aren’t you?” Minnie murmurs and the little tail swishes faster as she pushes at the bottle to suck the milk down faster. “What’s her name, uncle Jamie?”
“I haven’t named her yet,” Jamie says. “What do you lot think we should call her?”
“Blue,” George suggests instantly, without looking away from the baby goat on my lap.
“Ooh, I like it,” Minnie adds. “Like her eyes.”
“Blue it is, then,” Jamie grins. “Now, even though the dam is still not producing milk, we still need to train her to at least try to nurse, so she’ll do it right away when the dam is finally producing milk. Let’s see if we can get her to try to eat from the dam.”
He plucks the baby from my arms, and a series of yearning bleats come from the kid as he carries her to her mother. He places her near the dam’s udders and gives the baby a gentle push.
Much to our surprise, Blue spins away from Jamie and her mother and runs back to me. Although in all fairness, I am holding the bottle she was just drinking from. Jamie attempts three more times to get the baby to try to nurse from her mother, but she’s having none of it.
Finally, he takes the bottle from me and walks across to the opposite wall. He sits down, holds the bottle out, and calls to the doeling. “Come here, baby. Come eat.”
Blue’s tail gives a few nervous twitches, but she doesn’t move towards Jamie. In fact, she takes a few hesitant steps backwards until she bumps into my legs. I’m amazed as I watch her stare hungrily at the bottle, bleating hungrily, but refusing to go to Jamie.
“Daddy, she thinks you’re her mummy,” says George and both my children burst in laughter.
“What?” I say in astonishment.
“I don’t think that doeling is going to feed from anyone but you,” Jamie adds with a chuckle as he stands up. He walks over and hands me the bottle. Blue jumps directly into my lap.
On autopilot, I offer the goat the nipple but look up to Jamie in panic. “What should we do?”
“Dunno, I’ll just try and do it when she’s hungry again in a few hours,” he shrugs. “But if she still doesn’t wanna eat, I’ll bring her to you.”
Any last vestiges of humour, happiness and downright giddiness over the cuteness of a baby goat fades as I realise I might or might not have just added another task to my list. Heavens help me.

“Let’s have a daddy and daughter date tomorrow.”
It’s a solid suggestion, and I really hope she’d say yes. Her little brother has his classmate’s birthday party to go to, so I know it’d be perfect for a little one-on-one time.
We’re on our way back home after spending a whole day together. It was great, and even though I didn’t have happy-go-lucky Minnie, George had a great time, and it was enough for me. And at least she didn’t ask to go home early, so I’d call that a win.
“No, thanks,” she replies. There’s still not a hint of sulkiness in her tone, but it doesn’t sound technically warm either.
I glance over through the rear-view mirror as she stares out the window with her arms folded. Her brother is sleeping next to her, and I figured this might be a good time to talk since she’s trapped in the car with me.
Everyone always says that Minnie is a mini-me, while George is a carbon-copy of his mum. Minnie has my nose, eyebrows, chin, even my smile; which is slightly lopsided and has a dimple on one side. I know I’m biased, but she truly is the most beautiful little girl I’ve ever seen.
Where Minnie shines, though, is her personality, which is a combination of her mum and me. She has her mum’s sunny disposition—aside from the days where she’s got a bag on—and always sees the good in everyone. She’s our little ray of sunshine, tender and caring and always trying to make others feel good.
From me, she gets her stubbornness, which even though I know is a good trait to have when she’s older, it made things so much harder when she was a toddler. She also has my terrible sense of humour, but the thing I’m most proud of is her work ethic. I can’t take full credit for that though, because her mother is a hard worker as well.
Ever since she started distancing herself from me, I know which subjects are safe, and which are not. School always falls in the safe category, because she enjoys it and excels. So I figure now that’s where I should start. “How’s school going?”
“Alright,” she replies, still looking out the window.
Now, this really doesn’t sound at all like my daughter.
“Come on, Min,” I say desperately. “Tell daddy what’s been eating you. I can’t help if I don’t know what it is.”
“It’s nothing, I’m fine,” she says absently.
“Do you want to go and get some ice cream with me tomorrow?” That was our thing at least once every two weeks and she loved it.
“No, thank you.”
“Ice skating?”
“No, thank you.”
“Oh I know,” I say excitedly. “I’ve got a show in London in a couple of weeks, Jingle Ball. Do you want to come with me?”
Minnie has always been my biggest fan, clapping the hardest and yelling the loudest for her daddy. So it really takes me by surprise when she mutters, “shows, shows, shows… that’s all you care about, dad.”
I twist to peer out my window so she doesn’t see the wince that comes unbidden to my face if she looks through the mirror. That was a direct slam against me.
That really does hurt, and I rub at the throb of pain behind my breastbone.
“That’s not true,” I reply faintly.
“Did you care about my last ballet recital?”
Early this year, Minnie had a ballet recital. She was so excited about it because I had just finished my tour in December last year, and I’d already told my management that I would like a couple of months off. There was no reason for me not to attend, so I promised her I’d be there.
Except at the last moment, I realised I had forgot to switch an important meeting I had with the team from the new Manchester Arena. Since I invested in it, we had a meeting every few months because I said right from the beginning that I would take more than just a capital interest. I wanted to be involved in the development, because that was a huge project and I was really proud of it.
YN was in charge of our schedule and when she reminded me about the recital, which conflicted directly with my meeting, we ended up getting in the worst row we’ve ever had throughout our marriage.
“You’re going to let our daughter down in a way she won’t forgive,” she stated.
I refused to believe that, brushing off her comment with “I’ll take her out for something special later.” But my wife turned and stalked away from me.
That day, the meeting went great and the construction was almost done a few weeks earlier than intended, so there was an option if we wanted to open sooner. YN sent me a text with a video of Minnie’s performance, and it was beautiful. I was such a proud dad that I showed the video to everyone in that room.
When I got home, my wife and children cuddled on the sofa, watching a film. George was snoozing with his head on his mum’s lap on the far end, so I plopped myself down beside Minnie. I tugged on her hair playfully, and asked if she wanted to go out to a special daddy-daughter dinner to celebrate her recital.
“No, thank you,” she replied quietly, not taking her eyes off the telly.
“Come on, poppet,” I coaxed, trying to tickle her in the ribs a little. She only squirmed closer to her mum, not laughing from the tickle but grimacing like she didn’t want to be touched.
YN stared over Minnie with sorrow in her eyes. She gave a tiny shake of her head, but I wasn’t ready to give up.
“The Ivy?” I tried to tempt her because my kid loves chips, and she’s obsessed with their truffle and parmesan chips.
“No, thank you,” she muttered again, her head resting on her mum’s shoulder and her arm crossed over her middle. YN cuddled her with an arm around her shoulder. It had been clear that they were a unit, and I hadn’t been included.
“Minnie decided she wants to stop ballet lessons, so that was her last recital.”
“Oh,” I’d replied dumbly.
I couldn’t think of another damn thing to say because to do so would be disingenuous. There’s no doubt I killed my daughter’s potential love of ballet by not coming to her recital. I knew that because of YN’s expression of disappointment and Minnie’s dull dismissal.
Later that night, I walked by Minnie’s room and glanced in as the door was slightly open. I had bought her a bouquet of flowers that I gave her before I left for my meeting, and I saw that they’d been stuffed into the bin beside her desk.
I blink out of that memory, feeling the heavy weight of guilt. “Of course I did, my love. If I knew-”
“But not enough to come,” she replies dully. “And what about my debate competition? George’s piano recital? You showed up to none of them.”
I sigh heavily. “Minnie, a lot of parents have demanding jobs where they’re required to work or travel more than others. Sometimes A&E doctors have to work on Christmas and cannot see their children open the presents. Sometimes, a firefighter has to leave their house at night and can’t tuck their kids in bed.”
“I understand that,” she whirls and looks at me through the rear-view mirror. “Except you’re not saving lives or fighting fires, are you? You just get up on a stage and sing.”
“I’m a terrible dad, aren’t I?” I concede. “I know I’ve done things wrong in the past, but I’m trying to make it up to you, poppet. But I can’t do it if you won’t let me.”
She doesn’t say anything and it’s killing me. “You know I love you, right?”
“I know,” she rushes to assure me and I feel a little lighter. My daughter may act like a tween and have some bitter feelings towards me, but she loves me.
“I don’t like seeing you like this,” I continue. “Tell me how to make it up to you and I’ll do it. I want things to be good between us again.”
Her eyes flare with shock, and then they dart away as if she’s considering something. I wait expectantly. Maybe she’s going to finally open up and pour out her feelings for me. I’m ready for it.
I’m ready to listen, and validate, and reassure her that she, along with her mum and brother, are the loves of my life.
Her gaze comes back to me, her expression serious, and I brace.
“Can we get a puppy?”
What?
There’s no stopping the unlocking of my jaw and the dropping of my mouth because this was the last thing I expected her to say.
I’m so caught off guard that I can’t even think to immediately tell her ‘no’, which gives her time to launch into all the reasons why we should have a dog.
“Minnie, puppies are a lot of work. You’ve got to potty train them, teach them manners, and they get up for hours at night.”
“I promise I’ll do all that,” she exclaims.
“Like how you were supposed to take care of Fishy?” I can’t help but remind her. Fishy was her goldfish that we had to throw a funeral for a few years ago because she forgot to feed him. That poor sod died of hunger.
Minnie rolls her eyes. “I was six.”
She’s got a point.
Still, it’s obvious part of her request is manipulation because she threw it at me when I opened myself up to vulnerability. She knows I’m trying, and she’s throwing me a clear bone.
Get her a puppy, and all will be forgiven.
“Tell you what,” I look over my shoulder after I parked the car since we’ve reached home. “I promise to think about it, and I’ll talk to mummy.”
“Really?” She bounces in her seat in excitement.
“We’ll talk about it,” I reiterate in a calm, even voice. But there’s no stopping her excitement. The fact that I’m willing to consider is a huge victory for her because she knows that when I make my mind up about something, I never change it.
I open the door for her, and she is quick to unbuckle herself and throws herself at me.
I’m so surprised at the spontaneous act of affection that I almost don’t hug her back. It’s been so long since she’s shown this to me, and it’s the best feeling in the world.
I squeeze her tight, and I can only hope that my darling girl will always love her daddy the way she does right now.
George doesn’t even stir as I pick him up, and I tuck him in his bed straight away since I don’t want to wake him up. He must be tired, and good thing I’ve fed them both dinner.
Minnie even gives me another hug before she gets ready for bed, and that results in me having a permanent smile on my face even as I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen to see my wife.
“She’s chirpy,” YN comments when she sees me walking into the kitchen. “What did you do?”
“Got her to talk to me,” I smirk.
She looks surprised, and well, I can’t blame her. “Did she?”
“She did,” I nod. “Pointed out all my flaws, and when I asked her how I could make it up to her, she asked for a puppy.”
“What?”
“Exactly my reaction,” I chuckle.
“Boy, if she’s this good at emotional blackmailing at nine, we’d probably be in deep shit in a couple of years,” she jokes and I can’t help but laugh.
I’ve missed this.
“Will you go out to dinner with me tomorrow night?” I blurt out before I can stop myself.
“I can’t.”
“What? Got a hot date already?” I ask teasingly, but her silence tells me what I don’t want to know. “Oh, you’re going out with him.”
“Mr Wife- I mean Luke asked me out first and I already said yes.”
I shouldn’t be laughing because the fact that my wife going on a date with another man is not funny at all, but it’s hard to hide my smirk when she almost calls him by the nickname I’ve given him, Mr Wife-stealer.
“Well, fair enough. He asked you first,” I say nonchalantly. “What does he do?”
“He’s an A&E doctor at the Northern General,” she says, her tone lightens a little.
“Smart then isn’t he,” I mutter.
“Yes. He’s smart, attentive, caring and generous with his time.”
I keep my expression and tone bland, but she landed a direct blow there and it fucking hurts. “All the things I’m not,” I state, voicing the conclusion she was aiming at.
“Well,” she drawls with a tiny bit of sympathy. “I do think you’re smart.”
I give her a side eye-roll before I decide to be downright nosy and ask, “you can’t have been on many dates then?”
“True,” she chirps, a gleam in her eye as she sticks the knife in. “He is busy and his schedules are unpredictable. But when he’s gone, he makes sure I know I’m always on his mind. He sends me flowers for absolutely no reason other than because he wants to, calls me every day and we text all the time.”
Well, sodding fucking bollocking shit wank. I didn’t think YN would fall for that crap. And I realise… I never thought to do that stuff for her. I was the self-absorbed type of person who figured that my wife knew I thought about her all the time when I was away. I mean we were married, so I just assumed she knew.
I’m a shit head.
“What else does he do for you?” I ask and she blinks in surprise.
“Why?” She asks suspiciously.
“I told you I want our marriage to work.”
Her eyes narrow slightly, trying to read my tone and see whether I’m being genuine or it’s just bollocks. Finally, she replies primly, “I’m not giving away his secrets.”
What the fuck does that mean? Have they shagged? I would bet a million pounds they had not though, because I know YN and she wouldn’t enter into that deep of a relationship lightly.
Without even thinking twice, I make a sudden step into her. My arm goes around her waist and I pull her body into me. Not a single inch of space between us. Her mouth opens in a gasp of surprise, and I use the opportunity to kiss her.
I kiss the fuck out of my wife.
Her hands slap against my upper arms, and her fingers dig into my sleeves. Even as she’s pushing me away, her mouth opens, and her tongue touches mine briefly.
When I pull back, I ask, “did he kiss you like this?”
She shakes her head, breathlessly admitting, “we haven’t-”
My jaw drops. “Are you joking?”
“I’m not,” she murmurs.
“How long exactly have you been seeing him?”
“About four weeks.”
“Honey, he’s rooting for the other team,” I tell her and she slaps my arm.
“Sod off, he’s not,” she counters.
“Four weeks with the hottest, most gorgeous, shaggable woman and he hasn’t tried to kiss you? I mean not that I’m not grateful because, fuck, I am. But wow.”
“Of course he did try,” she rolls her eyes. “But I’m not ready for that, and he’s okay with us taking it slow.”
For a second I don’t say anything in response. Instead, I loosen my hold, bringing my hand to her lower back, and cupping her intimately from behind. Moaning, she leans into me. “I’m guessing he hasn’t touched you like this then.”
She doesn’t answer. Instead, she lets her eyelids flutter closed as her teeth bite into her lower lip.
Fuck. I could drag her to the floor right now, and we could go at it.
But then she comes to her senses, blinking rapidly, and I release her immediately when she gives me a tiny shove backwards.
“You’re not playing fair,” she accuses.
Damn right I’m not. I grab her upper arms, pull her back into me for one last kiss before I let her go just as quickly. “I’m playing to win.”
She takes a step back, brushes a wisp of hair from her temple, and puts on a cool expression. “That’s not going to make me take you back.”
I smirk.
She waves a dismissive hand. “Don’t get me wrong. You’re great with your hands and your mouth, but a lot of men know how to please a woman.”
She’s got a bonus point for trying to make me jealous, but I’m not falling for it. Instead, I give her a devilish smile and dip my head towards her.
“That’s true, but no one will ever please you the way I can.”
I’m enjoying our banter, and I expect her to come up with a snappy retort that might make me kiss her again.
Instead, her expression is sad when she says, “I wish I could be happy with that.”
My heart squeezes, and I lift a hand to palm the side of her neck. I wait until she meets my gaze. “We’re more than just sex, darling. I know you need and deserve more. I’m ready to prove that to you.”
I lean in, pressing my lips to her forehead.
She doesn’t respond as I pivot and head through the living room, letting myself out the door.
All in all, I think that went very well.
***
I’m back at my wife’s cottage, waiting for my kids as they get ready upstairs. Minnie has finally agreed to go on a daddy-daughter date and George is going to an overnight sleepover birthday party, and I’ll drop him off at his classmate’s house before I take his sister out to dinner. I’ll make sure to make it up to him by taking him on a special one on one date too next week.
There’s a light rap on the door, and my head swings that way. I have no doubt that it’s Mr Wife-stealer who’s going to take my wife out on a date.
I glance towards the master suite, but the door is closed. YN is probably putting on the finishing touches of her makeup. And the kids are still upstairs.
Nothing left to do but let him in.
Forcing a smile, I open the front door. He blinks in surprise to see me standing there, and I know I’ve got two options here; I could either easily dispel the awkwardness by being cool, welcoming and explaining our schedules happened to overlap.
Or… I could use whatever amount of alone time I have with him to instill some doubt inside his head.
That would be a dirty play, but as I have told my wife, I play to win.
Broadening my smile, I stick my hand out. “You must be Luke. I’ve heard a lot about you. I’m Harry.”
He seems momentarily frozen, but then basic manners take over. When he shakes my hand, it’s a bit limp, perhaps denoting a lack of confidence. After I release him, I bid him entrance with a sweep of my hand. “YN is in the bedroom. She’s still getting ready.”
Luke frowns over the fact that I know YN is in the bedroom. Probably over me even being here to talk to him. But I don’t dispel any innuendo he might glean from that.
I loop an arm around his shoulders, clamp down, and start guiding him to the kitchen. “Come on in and sit for a bit while she’s finishing up. Want a beer?”
Luke moves to one of the island stools, looking completely frazzled. “Uh… no, thank you.”
I shrug, moving to the fridge and opening it. Grabbing a bottle, I say with a sly grin as I close it. “So glad YN still stocks my favourite beer.”
I am so going to hell.
But that’s the truth. It’s my wife’s favourite beer, too, but I don't tell him that. Instead, I let the implication that I come over and have beers often. Luke’s frown deepens.
“YN tells me you work at the Northern General?” I take a sip of my beer, then lean my forearms on the island directly across from him so we’re eye level.
“Yeah… uh, that’s right.” Poor Luke. He seems incapable of carrying on a polite conversation with the husband of the woman he’s dating.
But I’m going to give him a pass. Setting my beer down, I straighten. “Let me go tell YN you’re here.”
“Um… you don’t have-” he starts to say, but I move past him without a backward glance. Through the living room, down the small hall, and a hard left takes me to the master suite. The door’s closed. I don’t bother knocking because I know YN is dressed.
I find her in the ensuite, her makeup drawer open and she’s huddled over it, touching something inside.
“Your date’s here,” I announce.
She lets out a yip of fright, shoving whatever it was in her hand to the back and slamming the drawer closed.
“Damn it, Harry,” she snaps, her palm pressed against her heart. “You scared the hell out of me. And what are you doing in my room?”
“Just running an errand for you. Wanted to let you know your date is here,” I say casually and I give her a mischievous grin. “Don’t worry, I welcomed him in, offered him a drink, and made small talk.”
She rolls her eyes, rising from her vanity chair and moves past me without another word. I start to follow, but then I hesitate and turn back to the drawer of her vanity. Quietly, I pull it open as far as it will go, spotting a picture of YN and me stuffed in the back.
I recognise it. It’s from a trip we took to Anguilla a few years back, just the two of us, and fuck if we didn’t look happy and deeply in love.
Was that what she was looking at when I walked in?
That could be good or bad, but either way, no way to know the answer. I shut the drawer, then catch up to her as she’s moving through the living room. Luke sees her, sliding off the stool. When she holds out her hands, he takes them and leans in to kiss her on the cheek.
Lame.
I sit on the armrest of the sofa, watching. Luke glances over YN’s shoulder at me as he pulls back, smiling victoriously.
I just smirk back. Because he’d probably lose it if he knew the type of kiss I gave my wife just last night. But I’ll keep that information to myself, though.
YN grabs her handbag off the accent table near the staircase before addressing me. “Make sure Minnie locks up when you leave, and remind George I’ll pick him up at ten tomorrow morning.”
I give her a jaunty salute. “Aye-aye, Captain.”
In return, I get another eye roll.
Luke puts his hand on my wife’s back, shooting me a look that says, ‘she’s mine tonight’, and I want to punch his teeth down the back of his throat. I just smile blandly, because, in just a few minutes of talking to him and watching how they interact, I can tell he’s getting nothing more than a friendly kiss when he brings her home.
YN might want to keep pushing at that relationship, but I am willing to bet that it’s not going to go anywhere. I know this, because I’m sure that my wife is still in love with me.

My clothes smell of you
Genre: Fluff
Request: no
Word count: 1311
Warnings: None
LOOSELY BASED ON THIS PROMPT: you’re a seamstress at the place I took my clothes to get fixed and when I got it back it smelled like you so now I’m looking for clothes at the thrift store that have holes in them so that I can go back and see you again
Part 2 here
A/n: there is absolutely no need to read part two. In fact I encourage you not to do so. It’s sad and why have sad when you can finish with this cute happy ending. Part two was the sadistic part of me coming out 😂
It was no secret that avenging was dangerous work. It was also no secret that Tony Stark sucked at sewing. Perhaps that was a little harsh on Tony. It's not like anyone else in the avengers compound could sew. Natasha remembered one particularly painful memory where Steve had ended up in the hospital because he had sewn his suit to his hand.
Tony had offered to have a bulk of different suits made for each person but after earth's mightiest heroes had seen how all of Clint's suits turned up fluorescent pink, it was a hard pass. Natasha also had another reason for wanting to get her suit's repaired rather than just buying a new one.
The first time she had her suit sent to be repaired it had been after Peter's suit had come back with absolutely no burn marks. It was surprising considering he had jumped into the fireplace after Bucky dared him too. She was shocked that the suit looked almost brand new and when he waved his hand into the flames again, it was completely crazy that the suit hand came away with no burn marks.
Whoever had fixed his suit had also made their own improvements.
Peter had eagerly told Natasha that he often went to 'Y/n's Splendid Sewing' after Aunt May got fed up of repairing his mask one too many times. While Natasha wasn't a fan of the name of the shop, she couldn't deny she was eager to see how you would fix a suit with more holes than Swiss cheese.
Peter had offered to bring her suit with him the next time he went but her suit needed fixing now and turning on the charm a little to skip ahead of any queues was her plan.
~~~~~
Walking into the store, the little bell on the doorframe rang out, letting you know someone had entered. You looked up to see a pretty redhead walk in.
"Hi, I'm hoping you could help me out." Natasha's low voice dripped with flirtatious intentions.
"Sure. What do you need sewing?" You answered back, busing yourself with the computer. You had convinced yourself that if you didn't have to look at her, she would get more ugly when you turned back. You were wrong.
Natasha dumped a black bag on the counter "I was hoping you could fix this up. I kind of need it for tonight."
You glanced at the clock. It read 4:30. Reaching into the bag you pulled out the black catsuit and examined the damage
"I can have it done by 5:45. Name please." You knew you were being short with this beautiful woman but you needed to get started on this suit asap if you wanted to meet the deadline you had set yourself.
"Just put it under Natalia."
~~~~~
The bell rang out again at exactly 5:45 and you didn't even bother looking up before grabbing the catsuit that was on the hanger.
"So you know my name, when do I get to know yours?" Natalia purred out, handing you the money and letting her hand linger for a fraction longer than necessary.
"Y/n" You managed to choke out, you were sure she could feel your heart rate increase because her gaze turned predatory for a fraction of a second before flicking back to the carefully flirty facade she put on.
"Cute. See you soon y/n"
~~~~~
When Natasha made it back to the compound, she took her suit out to inspect it and the waft of you came too. That wasn't fair in her opinion because it was addicting. Your scent wasn't very prominent in your shop because of all the other chemicals you used to clean the clothes but here, with no new smells to distract her, Natasha was hooked. You smelled of comfort.
This was the reason that Natasha was suddenly a saint, taking everyone's suits to be repaired. She wasn't too keen on everyone being able to smell your coziness but this way she got to keep talking to you. You had both fallen into playful flirting and while Natasha thought she could be content with that, she wasn't. She wanted more. She wanted to be the reason you woke up with a smile. She wanted to come home and be able to breathe you in after a long day. It's why she started bringing more and more... personal... items. It was an absolute joy to see your flushed face when she gave you a very revealing bra to fix, claiming that the holes that looked like they had been cut in were, in fact, a product of moth related crimes.
Natasha had, in fact, asked you out on a date several times yet you always thought it was just a friendly meet up. The amount of times the two of you had gone out to eat, or grab coffee, or just chill at the compound were too many to count. After the first three failed attempts at asking you on a proper date, Natasha wondered if you were being wilfully ignorant, that you just didn't want to go on a date with her and this was your way of letting her down. But then she would catch your eyes roaming her body with your lip captured between your teeth and question everything all over again.
~~~~~
Natasha, who was usually so sure of herself, felt like an absolute wreck when she came to collect the clothes that day, along with a bunch of flowers.
The bell on the doorway rang out at 4:45, just as it has done every Wednesday and Friday for the past 3 months. You didn't even bother looking up to greet Natasha, just waving her in to the back so she could dump the clothes that needed repairing.
"Actually Y/n, no clothes today."
You looked up at that. Why was she coming here without clothes? Was there an order you forgot to complete? Was she here to tell you that your last job wasn't good enough? "How come?"
"Well," Natasha took a deep breath in, trying to calm her nerves "I was wondering if you would like to grab some coffee with me? Like a date?" Natasha handed you the flowers from behind her back.
You were shocked. How could someone like Natasha (You had found out during a movie night at the compound that while Natalia was her real name, people here just called her Natasha) like someone like you? Natasha took your silence as a bad thing and started to ramble.
"I know it's weird but ever since that first interaction, I just can't shake you. I am obsessed with everything about you - your hair, your eyes" Natasha let out an exasperated laugh "even your damn smell I can't get out of my head. I understand if you don't want to date me but I can't live with the thought of not knowing whether or not you would say yes..."
While Natasha was ranting away, you and taken the flowers from her and placed them on your workbench. Once she had finished her speech, you placed one hand on her hip and the other on her face
"Of course I would want to go on a date with you. When you first walked into my shop, I couldn't wait for you to come and collect your clothes. When you kept coming back - well, I thought I was the luckiest person alive because even though I thought we could never be anything more than friends, at least I got to watch you and your smile every week."
You leant in, bringing your lips closer to Natasha's, leaving a gap for her to close. When Natasha captured your lips with hers, the softness was unparalleled to anything you had ever experienced. You both broke the kiss reluctantly when you needed to breathe.
"You know that's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me, Y/n"
"Well now, we can't have that Miss Romanoff, people might think you're going soft." you gently nudged her as you both walked out of the shop hand in hand, the bell ringing for one last time before you both made your way into your new relationship.

LUCKY PAIR
a/n: another one :)
pairing: Sebastian Stan X Reader
word count: 1.5k
This fic is part of the LITTLE ONE series, but can be read as a simple oneshot as well! Find the masterpost of the series HERE!
masterlist
Sebastian has always been a humble man. Growing up, with a strong and loving family background, he never really left the path that leads to good manners and appreciation even for the smallest things in life. Not even becoming a successful actor could change the way he sees and feels grateful for everything he has and achieved.
There were times when he thought he wouldn’t find the person he could settle with, feel comfortable enough around to spend the rest of his life with. Let alone start a family with. That was until he met you.
From the very start he felt a sense of belonging to you, like you pulled him in, so easily and fast, enchanted him and simply made him yours. And he didn’t mind it, not even a bit. Dating you has been such a different experience than his previous relationships. As if it made him realize how shallow and loose they were, but now he had the chance to taste what real love is like. With all the good and bad, the two of you have been sharing such a deep connection since the beginning that put his previous dating experiences to shame.
Now that you are pregnant and engaged, Sebastian has been immensely overwhelmed with how amazing his life is getting, all thanks to you. He is amazed by everything about the road to becoming parents, all the changes and challenges, he feels like it all led him to this exact point in life. What he likes the most about it however is you. Seeing you grow your baby, see the growth and the changes every day, the miracle of life happening right in front of his eyes. And he is still having a hard time believing that you chose him to do all of this with, to have the most beautiful gift of life with him.
He has always admired you in many ways, you’ve been a fascinating creature to him from the very beginning and he loved learning new things about you, things that made him fall in love with you even more. After spending years together he could still look at you with the same amount of love he did when you were just getting to know each other. But then came the pregnancy and Sebastian found himself falling deeper than ever.
He has often found himself looking at you with his heart full and chest warm at the oddest moments. When you were doing your skincare routine in the evening, standing in front of the mirror, putting on all the different products, he always has a great view of you from the side, sitting on the bed and he loves how he saw your belly get bigger each time, as you went through the same steps. Or the way you always scratch the lower part of your bump every morning as your good morning to the baby, humming to yourself with your eyes still closed in the soft morning light that floods the bedroom through the massive windows. Or how you draw a little heart on your tummy with your lotion before spreading the scream all over your skin. All these little things have had him melting, so thankful that he gets to see and experience it. With you.
Now the two of you are having a lazy Sunday, Sebastian has been watching a football game on TV and you are sitting next to him, your laptop on the top of a pile of pillows next to you, your legs crossed underneath you as you’re typing away on the keyboard. You’re wearing your reading glasses you recently got and for what he nagged you forever to finally get, but you refused to, feeling like you’re a little too young to have reading glasses. But then you realized you really did need them when you had trouble reading emails on your phone. You gave in and bought a pair, the transparent frame is a subtle accessory on your pretty face. Sebastian hasn’t told you, but it’s doing things to him, especially when you push them up to the top of your head, keeping your unruly hair back with them from your forehead. However now it makes you appear more on the cute side rather than the sexy, though that aspect is still there as well.
You’re snacking on some veggie chips, your latest craving that now takes up half of the pantry, reading something your mother has sent you about the wedding that will only take place after the baby is born, but she’s been so excited about it, she’s been bombarding you with ideas she finds online. You don’t mind it, carefully reading everything she proposes to you and then leaving comments and suggestions of your own before sending it back to her.
You’re wearing an oversized shirt with no pants on, just your underwear, your legs bare and looking so soft and squishy, Sebastian is having a hard time not to reach out and feel them with his own hands.
It’s so domestic, so mundane and simple, seeing you like this in the comfort of the home the two of you share, yet in this moment he feels like he is on top of the world. He swears he could cry from happiness when he looks at you in this state and he wishes he could preserve this moment forever.
He watches you reach into the bag, your eyes still on the screen, but then you realize that the chips is gone and you pout softly, giving the now empty bag a sad look. It’s just then that you notice him watching you instead of the game on the TV.
“What is it?” you ask with a shy, confused look. Sebastian shakes his head, smiling to himself as he leans closer, his lips meeting the corner of your mouth in a soft, chaste kiss.
“Nothing. You want me to grab another bag for you?”
“Ah, no. I shouldn’t even have eaten this bag,” you mumble under your breath, pursing your lips.
“Just eat it if you want it, Doll. There’s nothing wrong about it.”
“Don’t tempt me, I’ve already put on so much baby weight!” you warn him playfully, making him chuckle.
“That’s alright. You still look beautiful,” he assures you, making your heart flutter in your chest. As a reply, you just give his hand a squeeze before returning to your laptop, starting to type away, but Sebastian can’t stop himself from staring still. Licking your lips you notice his gaze again, feeling a little shy under his inspecting stare.
“What? Do I have something on my face?” you start guessing, but he shakes his head no, a hand reaching out to finally grab your bare thigh, his fingers deliciously sinking into your flesh.
“No, I just…” he sighs. “You’re so beautiful and I love you so much. That’s it.”
Your cheeks immediately heat up at his words, not sure where all of this affection is coming from all of a sudden.
“Stop, I didn’t even shower this morning,” you huff awkwardly. You just simply couldn’t muster up the energy to undress, shower and dress again, so you decided to skip, now Sebastian is treating you like a princess.
“I really don’t care,” he smirks, reaching up his palm cups the side of your face, his thumb running across the soft skin under your eye. He simply can’t fight this sudden wave of sentimentality, not that he wants to. Showing his love and affection has always been important for him and he will not shy away from letting you know how he feels. “I know I’ve said this before, but… I really am one lucky man.”
“You always say this as if I’m doing you a favor by being with you, but it’s mutual, Seb,” you softly tell him. Abandoning your laptop you scoot closer until he can wrap an arm around your shoulders, your sides pressed up against each other. “I’m lucky to have you too.”
“Yeah? So you’re not sick of me yet?” he teases you playfully, pressing his fingers into your side, making you jump a little.
“You think I would have said yes if I was?” you ask, holding up your hand, the diamond ring sitting not so subtly on your finger.
“Maybe you said yes just because I knocked you up,” he prompts and you smack his chest, making him laugh.
“Stop that! As if we weren’t already planning to have a baby, sometime soon,” you mock him, narrowing your eyes at him and smirking down at you he just kisses your forehead.
“I know, I know. I’m just still kinda looking for the explanation how someone like you ended up with me.”
“Oh please! Thousands of women were devastated when it got out that you’re off the market,” you scoff at his comment. “I should be thinking about the how, not you.”
“I guess we are… a lucky pair then, huh?” he smirks as you snake a hand behind his neck, pulling him down so your lips meet in a smearing kiss.
“Mm, the luckiest,” you grin against his lips.
Thank you for reading, please like and reblog if you enjoyed it!

I Know (Part I)
Pairing: Changbin x fem!reader
Genre: suggestive

Men…
Truly the scums of the Earth, who do no good for no one, and are an absolute menace to society. But oh, do I enjoy the looks of their faces at times. The way they would look at me with full hope and infatuation, with full beliefs that I would step down and give them all they want from me.
Hmph. How cute… and pathetic. How pathetic to assume and lower my standards for them. They all are the same. All but one however.
All that men hating… and yet, only one I’d be willing to go down to his level.
Yes, its him… He whom a lot would have not sought to be with, not many would expect a bombshell like myself would be with. But I do not see that in him, not an ounce of what many insecure individuals would see. I see something striking that not many could see, an underrated dignified beauty that anyone could wish to admire. A fanciable and irresistible personality and face.
He was a man.. but a pleasant one.
It all started when I moved in into a new flat for myself. I previously left the old complex due to the cramped environment I had that left me feeling uneasy and stressed, as well as it wasn’t even my apartment, it was for my partner, well, ex-partner. It was simply wasn’t working out, due to our seeming never ending conflicts. But enough of the past, let us move on..
I found this flat that is comfortable and the rent pays well, its only downside is that my room’s window is faced to the next door’s flat, however it’s not a big detriment or big turn off for me so it was fine by me, and also it was prone to have random, yet rare, blackout, but then again what neighborhood doesn’t have that. Anyhow, I was set to take the complex, but before I did, I have noticed something about the neighbor’s window next to me. It was a man. A really good looking one too. Giving his side profile, he was laying on his bed, his black hair covered head bopping with earphones placed in ears, laptop placed in his revealing shorts adorned lap. My eyes began started to stare into his arms then onto his naked well built chest, which indicates that he likes to keep up with his health, as his ring adorned hands was tapping away in his keyboard. I quickly looked away when I saw him repositioned his laptop, and walked out of the soon-to-be my room.
Great… I’ve entered Hell.
But I didn’t let it affect my decisions and got the apartment nonetheless, here I am now, weeks after the incident, sitting in my car, outside of the building, still thinking about the man in his laptop. Has he noticed that I was staring at him? Does he know that there’s gonna be someone living next to him? I hope not. And if he has, I must apologize to him. But before that, let me unload my car. I have gradually put my stuff into the complex as the days go by, it seems dragging, but it felt like the time went by fast, so I’m glad I have done that. However, today was different, as I took stuff more than I usually did, as I desperately do not want to go back to my ex. Typically, I never had assistance, as usually my best friend would join in and help out, but at a time I needed them the most, they had to be really sick. They still were willing to help, but I insisted that they shouldn’t and should rest.
After thinking, I sighed and got out my car, ready to fight the battle that is putting my stuff into my complex. I opened the trunk, eyes meeting my stuff, and I begin to groan. ‘Dammit, (y/n), why do you have that many stuff?!’ I thought to myself. I really should’ve had at least one more visit to my ex, but alas I picked to just take all all together in one day. I picked up a box until..
“Need any help?” I heard someone behind me asking me. I turned around and looked at the source. ‘God damn, is it just me, or does this town just bring out more attractive people?’ I thought to myself, as I see a man that looked like he could be at a museum. He had a sandy brown curly hair, slightly tanned skin, really plump and a crazy jawline. He donned a tank top that barely covered his side torso, and basket ball shorts that complimented his really nice, thick… thighs… yeah… Needless to say he was really attractive.
It seems that I was ogling him, rather than responding, as he shyly smiled and waved his hand in front of my face, “hello,” he softly said as I shook my head and looked back at his face apologetically.
“I am so sorry, I am just really tired, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable,” I cringed at my pathetic way of justifying of me literally internally lusting over him. I really am turning into someone I dread to be. How can I forgive myself?
“That’s okay, I know how moving can get tiring, and I sense that you’re alone, so please let me and my friend help you out.” He said, sympathetically smiling a sweet smile, already grabbing a box out of my hand. God, if this man has a partner, then they’re the luckiest person ever, and if he’s single, I’ll gladly hand him a ring. What am I saying? (y/n), what the hell has gotten into you?!
“I’m Christopher, but you can call me Chris or Chan, whichever you prefer is fine, what’s your name?” The generous man’s voice interrupted my inner battle and I found myself looking at him again. “(y/n)” I smiled at him, which he nodded back.
“Nice to meet you,” Chan said, looking back and see that his friend showed up, meanwhile, I went back to my trunk and got out more stuff from my car “oh, there he is!” Chan enthusiastically announced.
“(y/n), meet my friend and roommate, Changbin.” Chris said, while I got out the box and looked at the other man, my face shifted from contentment to horrific.
Its the man with the laptop.
“Hello? Chan, are you sure she’s okay?” Changbin looked at Chris with worry. “Yeah, she’s just tired, just nudge her.”
It’s like Chris knew me too well, despite meeting for less than 10 minutes, as Chris slightly pushed me with the box, not enough to hurt me, but enough to put me out of a trance.
“huh? I did it again, did I?” I looked at Chan, worryingly, which he nodded. I looked back at Changbin and the pathetic act was brought up again.
“I am so sorry, I don’t know what has gotten into me.” I apologized once again, which Changbin only smirked. “Don’t worry about it,” He said, carrying a box. Something about that smirk and tone seems off. Not off in a menacing way, but off in a… coy way. Maybe not the best term to use, maybe I am just over analyzing, but I am for sure either winning the lottery tonight, or convinced that the sun will rise from the west tomorrow, since I have two very attractive men helping out, one of which is someone whom I may have an odd fascination for a while now.
~~
The two have been nothing but a delight to interact with, their help with the stuff had done me even more than just a solid. However, I still in a way feel a bit unsettled by Changbin. It wasn’t that he was a creep, or did anything to make me uncomfortable, its just this feeling of guilt I carry with me. Meanwhile, I didn’t attempt anything, and I just simply just admired him from afar, it still felt wrong that I was just looking at him while he was barely wearing anything, let alone while not him paying attention. Despite this, it seems that he doesn’t know that I did what I did, which is why I chose to confront him about it when the time is right, which is probably when we start getting even more comfortable. I have exchanged numbers with both men, even though I could probably just go out my window and yell out their names, but I’d rather not disturb the peace.
Two good looking men are now my neighbors… Who would have thought? Whichever entity that is in existence have decided to play with me, because to them, my humiliation would be their laughing stock, because they definitely would have seen what is to become of me.
Its been a week in since I moved, and interacted with the two Chans, and I am glad that a curtain was installed onto my room, just so I wouldn’t carry even more guilt than I already do. But the thing is, I would lie that I still haven’t thought of Changbin. While I would have thought that Chris fitting into more of my ideal type, Changbin however held a mysterious power that Chan didn’t.
Ever since the time I first laid eyes on Changbin, he has never left my mind. He has started to creep up in my fantasies and dreams in every way shape of form. I couldn’t stop thinking of how his arms would look around my waist, how his lips would feel in my skin, or how his hands would wander around, exploring places that many men often fail to find to make me feel good, or how his voice would be like when talking as he puts his mouth by my ear— God, this is getting out of hand, I would think.
What if he had a girlfriend? What if he wasn’t attracted to women in general? What if he finds you a creep?
So many more endless questions would come in to ruin me, but its not like i have a choice, he just happened to settle into my dreams and thoughts, and went with it.
I decided to take a shower to try and distract myself from these thoughts, which didn’t help at all, as the hot water cascading my skin did nothing but accelerated my lustful thoughts. I decided to get out of the shower, as it didn’t help my case.
Damn you, Changbin.
I sighed, put on some underwear and a robe while having a towel wrapped around my hair. I got out of the bathroom and back to my room. It was dark out, and in my room, the only light came out of it were my night lamp, which barely lit up the whole room. I checked the window, making sure Changbin wasn’t there, or at least not facing the window, only to see his window being covered with curtains.
Great timing, could’ve used that when I first saw you, dipshit.
But nonetheless, I was really glad at least he wasn’t visible. I laid back on my bed, and decided to look through social media, as anyone should. While in the middle of a instagram scroll, I see a caller popping through at the top of the screen…
It was Changbin.

you should read this imagine while listening to: before you go
➳
The light coming in from the window on your right illuminates the whole room, it’s late afternoon but the sun shines almost as if it were noon. The scorching heat has now passed, there is a breeze that cools the air and spreads the scent of the grill in the garden, alternating the scent of grilled vegetables and steaks throughout the house. The pool water is still moving, the inflatable flamingo is wedged near the pool stairs and you can still see the tracks of Michael's wet feet near the diving board.
Halsey's songs are repeated at a low volume, but the guys sing them out loud and a smile forms on your face as you see how they are always ready to support their friends, not only publicly with tweets or instagram stories, but also in private, enjoying music like normal people do.
You hold onto the sweatshirt Ashton gave you as you grab your cell phone from the sofa and put it in your shorts pocket. Your hair is still wet from the shower you just took and it’s leaking few drops of water as you head outside, where your friends are starting to set the table for dinner.
You don't know how it happened, you have vague memories, but you feel grateful to have them around you, to have the opportunity to consider them as a second family, to be able to hug them and to be able to laugh with them. It is a fortune that not everyone has and you make sure you don't waste this opportunity.
“Honey!” Ashton yells, shaking his hand up and looking at you with an amused look. A few tufts of hair fall in front of his face and with one hand he tries to move them back, only to find them in front of his eyes again. His swimsuit is now dry, his chest is red from staying under the sun all day but his tattoos still manage to stand out in the tan and a huge smile covers his face.
Seeing him so happy, confident, at peace with his mind and in love with life, warms your heart and you almost feel like crying of joy in seeing him like this.
You wiped his tears, hugged him under the covers and held him a million times as his demons took over, when mirrors became enemies and food scared him.
You turned off his cell phone every time he read comments about his body and spent sleepless nights keeping him company while he vented his frustration by playing the drums.
You held out your hand to him while accompanying him in his battle against himself, you kissed him as he went through hell and his joy was worth every single tear.
You are proud of him, of the way he went back to wearing his favorite t-shirts and of the way he has come to love all his flaws, even though you're still sure he doesn't even have one.
As you leave the house, a cool breeze passes through your hair and you instinctively close your eyes to be able to appreciate the moment of coolness in the terrible heat of the last few days.
When you open your eyes, amazement takes over your body: the sky is not simply blue like the water in the pool you've been in all afternoon, but pink and orange clouds cover it completely; the sun hides behind them, tinges the sky with more intense colors and you feel your soul leave your body at the sight of so much beauty.
The sunset is so mesmerizing that you don't even feel the need to pick up your phone and take a picture of it, it's so beautiful that you're sure not even the best cameras would be able to capture such a marvel.
It’s a pink and orange sunset, bigger clouds are the backdrop to smaller more intense colors and the skyline of the city is slowly tinged with black, the lights of the buildings begin to see each other more and the world slows down as it prepares for the quietest hours.
The sunset arouses familiar, nostalgic, certainly not typical emotions in you; it’s so beautiful that you feel like you are living a dream, you pinch your arm lightly to make sure you are awake but Ashton's laugh reminds you that it is reality and, with that melody in the background, you understand that the difference between dream and reality is not that big.
And even if it were a dream, you know that dreaming never hurt anybody.
As the sunset surrounds you in a warm hug, a small white butterfly begins to flutter around you, spinning around and bringing a smile to your lips. The insect is small, but in the orange sky it stands out in an important way, making you feel like a Disney princess. You stretch your hand up, raising your forefinger and inviting the little butterfly to lean on it and, without fear, it leans on it, resting its wings and showing itself even more beautiful than you thought.
It’s white but at the corners of its wings it has black spots, its gaze seems to be directed towards you as its antennae move delicately. A sense of awe and wonder makes its way inside of you and you slowly bring the butterfly closer to you so you can admire it better, noticing how safe it continues to feel with you.
“Is everything alright?” Sierra asks as she sets the plates on the table, she's too busy to notice how you seem to be in symbiosis with the butterfly.
“Yeah.” You whisper while the insect continues to stay on your finger, motionless, leading you to feel a sense of peace in the moment you are living.
Suddenly, while the blue sky is giving its space to the dark night, the butterfly takes off and, after making another turn around you, heads towards the sky and merges with the lights of the stars.
You walk back to your friends, still confused about what just happened, and you see Michael trying to move the fire bowl to the corner of the pool. “Mike, if I were you I'd be more careful, you're not the luckiest person when it comes to fire.” You smile and you hear your friends laughing out loud as a grin appears on Michael's face.
“Don't worry, Crystal has seen enough tv shows about doctors to know what to do if I get burned again.” He replies looking at his girlfriend and laughing.
“Shut up and come here,” Crystal responds by pretending to be offended. “Dinner’s ready.” her lips try to hold back the smile that is forming on her face.
You sit on your boyfriend's lap while Luke sets the meat on the plates and Sierra pours the beer into your glass. Ashton pushes your hair to the side and kisses you on the neck, giving you goosebumps and getting winks from his friends.
“You’re terrible.” he replies while looking at them and squeezing his hands on your lap, his head resting on your back while he rolls his eyes and smiles. Everyone burst out laughing and the sound of their laughter still feels like the most beautiful melody to you.
As you are about to take your first bite, your phone starts ringing and vibrating inside the pocket of your shorts. You put your fork down and stand up, being careful not to trip over Ashton's feet as he gives you a questioning look. You give him a kiss on his head and you go away slightly from your group so you can hear better.
Your mother's voice is low as you bring the phone to your ear, a smile forms on your face to hear the sound of her voice but the world collapses on you a few seconds later, when her words become understandable while she cries.
The conversation is short-lived, it is mostly made up of your mother's sobs and words you never wanted to hear. Your mouth opens slightly and your heart seems to stop. And when she closes the call, you have a hard time figuring out if you are having a nightmare or if you are still in reality.
“Was that your lover on the phone?” Calum smiles as you stare at your phone screen as soon as you hang up the call. You look up and see everyone's gaze on you as your eyes start to pinch.
“It was my mother,” you take a deep sigh as you try to find the courage to speak. “My grandmother died a couple of hours ago. She's gone and-” and the words die in your mouth.
Your friends' smiles quickly transform as their brows rise and their eyes lose their light. Crystal is the first to hug you, in less than a second her arms are around you but it's all so surreal that you can't even find the strength to move your body. You hear whispers, but your ears are muffled as Ashton takes the place of your best friend and holds you close to his chest, kissing your hair and whispering words of comfort.
It all happens so fast that you struggle to metabolize, it seems to you that the whole world has stopped or is going too fast, it is hard to try to understand as your mind repeats your mother's words all over again.
You talked to your grandmother the day before, you described to her the weather and you told her all the projects you had in mind, including going to see her as soon as possible. She had told you some stories from her past because she knew how much you loved hearing stories from other times and then you said goodbye to her in a hurry because someone had rang the doorbell.
You didn't tell her you loved her and your heart breaks even more at the realization that she left without knowing the affection you felt for her.
Did she know you loved her? Did she know that she was the most important person to you? Did she know you were grateful for all the sacrifices she had made to make you happy? Did she know you were proud of her? Did she know you loved the way she kissed your hands? Did she know how much you cared about her? Or did she pass wondering if you loved her?
If that were the case, you would never forgive yourself.
Part of you, however, is aware that behind those wrinkles and trembling hands, there were years of wisdom and intelligence and that, even when she was sick, she knew that you loved her unconditionally.
You still remember how she was the one who taught you to ride a bike when your parents were too busy working, how her hunched back bent even more as she pushed you along the street outside your childhood house, letting you go on your own when you learned, while still lying to you about how her hands were attached to the bike, to make you feel protected.
You certainly still remember the way she bragged about you, how she proudly used to tell all the ladies at the grocery store that you were her niece, her greatest joy and the best gift she ever received.
And, if you close your eyes and focus, you can still feel the warmth of the old fireplace in her home, of her hands holding yours while your face was resting on her shoulder. You can still hear the sound of burning wood, of her sweet voice singing melodies belonging to past eras while, between one verse and another, her lips kissed your head and whispered words of love.
Most of all, you have memories of how her arms wrapped around your little body when there was a thunderstorm, when the screams inside your house got too loud and when you saw her again after weeks, with your hearts coming back to beat in unison and your lungs beginning to breathe again.
Now that she is gone, who would be by your side? Who would teach you to cook and sew?
You would no longer hear her heart beating when you leaned against her chest, you would no longer hear the sound of her breaths when you slept next to her, you would no longer wake up with the smell of the flowers she grew and, above all, her dry, wrinkled lips would no longer whisper “I love you” to you.
All the fights, all the moments when you were bothered by her calls and all your snorting about the boredom of being with her bring a pang to your heart that tastes of guilt and arrogance, of shame and wasted moments that won't come back.
She was now gone, her heart had beaten for the last time and her eyes had stopped shining and the more time passes, the more her absence starts to hurt.
While your friends are around you to not leave you alone and Ashton hugs you tightly while caressing your hair, everything seems to start to make sense: the butterfly that just moments before had leaned on your hand, the sunset so beautiful and intense - she was there, she was giving you her last goodbye with all the delicacy possible.
She was reassuring you that she will always be there for you, that she will be in the sunsets under which you will fall asleep and that she will be the butterflies that will fly around in the sky, to reassure you that everything’s gonna be alright.
And with this new certainty and a weight in your chest that will slowly go away, you let yourself go, the tears begin to roll down your face and the sobs echo in the silence of the evening, as the stars light up the sky and God gains a new angel.
Ashton knows it won't be easy, that it will be months before that pain will become more bearable and that family lunches and dinners will be harder, that that empty chair around the table will be a stab in the heart every time.
But he also knows that you are strong, that you will be able to overcome everything, that sadness will turn into a smile when you’ll remember her and that, whatever happens, in a way or another, he will always be there next to you, just like your grandma used to be.
