tell me about the oc with the novel-length backstory!

Her name is Mindy. She's a succubus. I've used her in several stories since her creation.

She is the worst succubus in the world. Very good at charming and seducing people, but has no malicious instincts and is thus bad for corruption. She has two braincells and one of them is dedicated to petting cats.

She was sent to the mortal realm to corrupt and collect souls. Unfortunately for her, a cleric discovered her and magically trapped her in a box. She spent several decades alone in a void.

When I put her in a story, it usually begins with her being freed from her magical prison. She's ecstatic to be free, grateful to whoever freed her, and very reluctant to go back to work. If she starts corrupting souls again, she might get trapped again, and she does NOT want that. So... best to just not return to Hell and follow her new friend around.

She's SO much fun to write. She's sweet and sincere and also says hilarious off-the-wall things.

So when I got back into LOD, I of course tossed her at Drizzt because he needs emotional support and comedic relief. I made a fic but it's nowhere near complete, and in my head it's already spun into THREE different and mutually exclusive sequels... one of which I've posted about before, the Mountain Lord AU.

So yeah. Considering my track record, I will probably never finish any of those stories. But I do have story outlines and disconnected scenes in my WIP pile, so maybe I'll share those some ime.

ah! yes. a mix of a few things ig? for starters i have Always been compelled by the childhood friends narrative of loscar. i am always compelled by childhood friend narratives tbh... but like. they have fr known each other for SO long and that is something that could be so special to me... but i don't really write a lot of childhood friends to lovers? then before miami when oscar posted that fucking picture i was like Okay. i'm gonna lose my mind. i need to write a fic. but i didn't know what to write so i like bookmarked it in mybrain

Then. i remembered this old novel wip i had rotting away in my google drive... which i was working on last april actually after i finished the first draft of my novel that is now a mostly polished manuscript (not the point but i'm proud of it) and it never really surmounted to much bc idk it was a mess. but the gist of it is/was two boys who meet when they're really young (4) and grow up together and are each other's firsts for a lot of things but never date. it was kind of a soulmates thing with just. the idea of meeting your soulmate as a kid and not fully realizing it until you're an adult. so they grow up together and date other people and all that but in the end they come together, like they were always supposed to, and it feels kind of inevitable? does any of this even make sense

POINT IS. really old novel wip. with original characters and all that. i forgot about it completely for a year then i was literally Out for once in my life and i just. remembered it existed. and was like. Oh My God that's loscar. "it's like we can't get away from each other" core. that's wild. i am going to repurpose it. so i'm repurposing it. the first kiss scene and the first meeting scene are both repurposed not word for word but i wrote them with two tabs up. and there are some more scenes i swiped directly from my old project (the whole entire thing about how old they're both supposed to be before they can start kissing and also a bunch of stuff i haven't posted yet) but a lot of what i've been writing is new. the oldest i wrote Either of those characters for that project was 14 so

and it's funny bc obv that project had two characters but neither of them were clearly oscar or logan so it depended on the scene who i would give what lines to and i kept getting confused. Whoops

Out of the blue, Bruce announces to the batfam, that he does, in fact, have a favorite child. He proposes a challenge, that anyone who can guess the favorite child gets first dibs on Alfreds cooking for a whole month (practically winning the lottery) so the batkids are now invested.

Damian immediately guesses Dick, fully under the impression that he’s right and Bruce is just trying to play mind games with them. Damian was incorrect.

Dick guesses Jason after finding out it’s not him, he was wrong, it’s not Jason.

Now Jason is intrigued, he’s noticed Tim still hasn’t guessed but is probably analyzing everything. Knowing Tim takes awhile (even if he is always correct) Jason goes ahead and guesses anyways, completely confident in his answer. Jason guesses Duke, he is incorrect.

Babs, knowing she isn’t one of Bruces kids so she doesn’t count for this challenge (because if she did it would obviously be her) she guesses Damian, the obvious choice. His biological son. Bruce smirks and shakes his head.

Duke guesses Tim, an answer that would make the most sense. I mean, Tim is practically Bruce 2.0, but he isn’t the favorite child.

Suddenly it clicks, Tim is now frustrated it took him so long to see. Obviously the favorite is Cass, who else could it be?? Tim almost has a tantrum when told he was wrong.

Now everyone is confused, they’ve gone through all of his kids. Tim doesn’t know why he hasn’t solved this puzzle yet. He looks for more clues and sees Cass wearing a ring. An engagement ring. The same one Steph is also wearing. It finally makes sense.

“I know who it is,” Tim brags. “But I’ve already used my guess, so Cass, please do the honors.”

Cass then points to Stephanie. Bruce has the biggest grin on his face as his nods. This is how they all find out that Cass and Steph are getting married.

almost IMMEDIATELY Foul Legacy's mane of ginger hair ruffles and puffs up, crystalline eye locking with Neuvillette's. the Iudex stops in his tracks, the slim azure antennae hidden amongst his hair shivering as a low, almost inaudible growl rises from his throat. Legacy matches it, and for a moment they just glare at each other while you look back and forth between them, shaking your head in exasperation. you slip off of Legacy's lap and skip cheerfully over to Neuvillette, taking his hand in your mitten and gently tugging, tugging until he stands before Foul Legacy and stares down at him with suspicion and wariness. instinctively he attempts to push you behind him, but you evade his arm and happily curl up in Legacy's lap again, and Neuvillette can only blink before slowly sitting down in front of you

the dragon and the monster regard each other silently- they're supposed to be mortal enemies, after all. eventually Foul Legacy's wings lower, slowly, neatly folding against his back. he gives Neuvillette a tentative chirp, and you smile up at him, colorful little tail waving in the air. the Iudex sighs, giving you a small smile in return and leaning in, quietly asking you to tell the story of how you met this... armored, glittering beast. your bloopy antennae twitch in delight as you sit up, leaning back against Legacy's chest with his arm around you, and both of them listen to you regale them with a long, thrilling tale- minus the parts where you got stabbed, of course

Happy early birthday August! I began working on this yesterday for fun and now I find out her birthday is tomorrow?? Timing couldn't've been more perfect!

They actually took the BEST male love interest in all of the Bridgerton universe and made him into a woman destroying both his and Francesca's characters and arcs going forward.... Like I'm sorry but the gender roles Michael and Francesca have are integral to their story... The infertility, Michael inheriting all of John's estate and title....and the guilt that comes with it. They even give him John's old clothes to wear
