Visiting my grandparents who are very tiny adorable withered old Mexicans with late stage dementia and they don’t remember me or know me at ALL but my grandma tried to speak to me in Spanish and I had to be like I’m sorry I don’t speak Spanish and she was fucking AGHAST

OH MY GOD. she calls my grandpa over. goes. this person is from here and can’t speak Spanish !?!?!?#it’s so sad that she can’t speak Spanish!!! she doesn’t understand me !! she looks like she should speak Spanish !!#SORRY GRANDMAAAAAAAA #Altho it was actively her choice not to teach my mother and her siblings Spanish when they were growing up #assimilation is all fun and games until your granddaughter who you don’t know can’t understand u I guess!#<- NOT A DIG AT HER AT ALL I love my grandma and I understand why she made the choices she did !!!!!#a little sad that she had to make those choices tho
