Debating telling my mom about where I get yarn. On the one hand, she’s a jerk and made it pretty clear yesterday that she wanted me and my gf to leave despite us having a pretty decent conversation with my dad. On the other hand she seemed really depressed about the craft stores near her carrying less yarn and having trouble finding clear listings on amazon describing the size/amount/washing techniques of skeins. And I hate to see a fellow crafter suffer

#she gave me 6 skeins of yarn yesterday cuz she was trying to get a gold weight 4 yarn but neither of the listings was categorized correctly #so she ended up with some doily weight yarn and some that’s labeled weight 3 but I’d call it a weight 2 #and the weight 3 one was more of a bright yellow than a gold #and neither of them can be dried in a machine. which isn’t great if you’re making someone an anniversary blanket lol #anyway if you don’t mind getting things shipped from Denmark I’ve had good luck with hobbii yarn #they’re a bit pricey for shipping but if you wait until they’ve got a sale happening and you get a bunch at once it comes out decently cheap #and their search system works really well #I do feel bad about the international shipping carbon emissions but it’s not like the amazon yarn is any better with that #and at least this one you’re not having to fuck around with ordering 5 different types of yarn to find what you want
