ok but one thing abt Cruel Prince that kinda frustrates me is the fact that a lot of the characters treat Vivi as if she's wholly Fae and is weird for wanting to live in the mortal realm but- did everyone forget she's half Fae??? her mother was human, she's Jude's half sister. As in, by blood relation. She's always treated as One Of Them but she belongs in the human world just as much as anyone else???? rlly feels like an anti mixed-race sentiment tbh

#she's always so Othered in the narrative by the humans but like. it's not like she even Fits In in the fae realm????#jude in-book talks abt her like she's a wholly different creature to her SHE'S YOUR BLOOD SISTER?????#she even LOOKS human enough without glamours so ppl think her pointed ears are just body mods #she doesn't have different-than-human skintones and her eyes can be passed off as just neat cat contacts #she's more interested in human things and being with human peers #SHE'S CHOOSING TO CONNECT WITH THE HALF OF HER SHE WAS FORCIBLY TORN AWAY FROM AND SHE HAS TO *HIDE THAT* FROM HER FAMILY #like she's actively trying to learn about human culture and THE LIFE SHE WOULD HAVE HAD IF SHE WASN'T KIDNAPPED BY HER BIODAD #and like. so fucking glad she actually GETS to have that life in the end. safe in the human realm with the life she CHOSE #bc so many of the characters treat her like a mixed-race kid who's being UNGRATEFUL by trying to connect with her heritage #bc why would you WANT to be one of those horrible savages??? isn't our clean pristine society so much BETTER??? /heavy sarcasm
