my mother and sister happened to be at my place when it arrived and they were very curious as to what was in the package and when i pulled out blinky my sister said “whatever i was expecting it to be, it was not that.”

Always A Monster AU

A mix between Nerdy Prudes Must Die and the Monster High universe. Some characters are monsters, but since the island where Hatchetfield is built was mostly inhabited by humans, many monsters has to keep their appearances under wraps to avoid getting killed. Many monsters upon reaching adulthood escaped to the mainland, never going back to Hatchetfield unless absolutely necessary.

Some went to the island willingly, to find any young monsters and protect them. One of them was Paul Matthews.

Richie was a werewolf from his mother's side, but since the monster blood was so thin it had been a few generations since one was born in his family. The only exception was his uncle Paul, who is also one.

After he was kicked out by his own parents, Paul was the only one who took him in. He took Richie to Hatchetfield despite the risks, because while he does need to care for his nephew he still has his job to take care of the not-so-human resident there.

Richie grew up lonely when he was young, but during the nights when his uncle has to work night shifts, he slips out at night and turn into a wolf. Well it looks more like a husky puppy. Genetics are weird with were-creatures.

It was during one of his sneak outs that he met Max, who stepped out of the wall, his body see through from his intangiblity.

Max had always been a ghost. Or well, a half-ghost. He's born from a ghost mother and a human father (don't ask how). His mother is a ghost bound to the island, and was unable to leave. She was unfortunately sent off to the Ghost Realm when she was falsely accused of being possessed (somebody just saw her in her ghost form).

While she was free from her binding to the island, she couldn't contact Max, leaving him to fend for himself, hide his more monstrous qualities and deal with his father's unrealistic expectations and drunk fit.

As a result, Max always spend as much time outside of his house when possible, and only came back home to sleep for the night.

They became friends, which unofficially started when Max thinks Richie is a lost puppy and tries to take him home.

It's during the night they met Ruth and Pete, and found out they were monsters too. Ruth was an undead, which she hide whatever rotting parts she has behind her clothes. Pete was a Frankenstein's monster/Simulacrum made in the shape of a kid to blend in better.

They stayed friends until high-school, where Max's dad began pressuring him to be better, and even threaten to kick him out if he can't. Max no longer cares about his dad's expectations, he could just go to Richie's if that happens.

Unexpectedly the Losers trio were a horrible influence to Max because he might have gotten a bit too rebellious and got kicked out for real. So now he lives with Richie and Paul.

Ruth said that they're living a cohabiting life, and got a first seat view to Richie's blushing face and Max's ghostly shriek.
