3x01 thoughts!!!!! book spoilers abound. there's also probably a ton of stuff i'll forget to comment on since i didn't stop to note anything during the episode so as not to miss even a moment of it!

i will also note that i heard some new music mixed in with previous seasons' tracks during the 15 minutes at the beginning before the event started! i can't wait for the full soundtrack!! and all of the shredding music was insanely good, i really hope there will be a nice long track on the OST that includes all of it (the piece during the battle inside the tower reminds me a lot of the rings theme from ROP, which is neat. maybe a new theme for the black ajah?)

moiraine saving siuan during the battle! i got so emotional! in the extended s3 preview after the episode, it did show siuan speaking with moiraine in the fish hut about rand needing to kneel to the tower, so i'll be intrigued to see how that conversation might come about (if it's even in the real world?) after moiraine's left tar valon without mending fences with siuan.

our first avirand interaction! 10/10 no notes! i love the bickering vibe they have to start off and am excited to watch their relationship grow over the course of the season. this episode also does a good job of explaining why they get off on the wrong foot: rand is annoyed that avi is putting her expectations onto him and being demanding of what she wants from him as the potential car'a'carn, and avi is annoyed that rand isn't living up to her expectations and doesn't have any investment in the aiel people the way the car'a'carn should.

glad to see egwene getting a chance to talk to elayne and nynaeve about her trauma and the struggles she's having in her relationship with rand. the show is committed to maintaining the weight of what happened to her in s2 and exploring how it affects her long-term! elayne going from a confidante for egwene about her relationship with rand to later rand's partner herself with egwene's blessing - i'll be super intrigued to see how they handle that shift in a future season, because it's a delicate emotional situation. i'm guessing that whatever closure randgwene gets this season will be solid enough that it will feel believable for egwene to sign off on her friends elayne & avi dating him in potentially s4.

and then later we see egwene and nynaeve teasing elayne about avi, which was so adorable <3 i always loved the book scenes of the wondergirls gossiping about their love lives together, and i'm thrilled that this episode paid homage to it!

speaking of, we ALSO got a scene of the wonderboys gossiping about their love lives together, which i don't think the books ever really did thanks to RJ's seeming conviction that guy friends don't confide in each other about personal things the way girl friends do. but the show has delivered! equality is restored!!! overall a very fun and wholesome scene between the boys here. (though we do find out by implication that rand has not told anybody the truth about having slept with a disguised lanfear, setting the stage for that to be an earthshattering discovery for egwene later. i do hope they can frame the randgwene breakup in a way that doesn't feel like lanfear/randfear is the main catalyst, but rather in a way that feels like they would have inevitably broken up regardless of that because they just aren't right for each other.)

"you don't give yourself enough credit" "no YOU don't give yourself enough credit" the boys continue to be the most wholesome besties!!

i'll admit to being sad that we didn't really get any dedicated cauthor interactions, just a couple of quick little moments slid into group scenes, but they've had so much one-on-one time in the first two seasons that i can acknowledge, objectively, it's fair to give the one-on-one time to other duos among the group in this episode haha but i'll cross my fingers for them to reunite for s4!

the moiraine-lanfear shaky temporary alliance is very intriguing! lanfear calling ishy "a gentle soul" djkfjg it's a good way to set the stage for the other forsaken and explain how they pose a different threat than what we've seen from ishy and lanfear, due to just wanting rand dead and not caring about getting him to join their side.

we also see mat uncontrollably speaking the old tongue. i cracked up the first time he did it and the gang was just like ".........." and he went "um carry on" hjdkfhkgh and then i LOVED his and nynaeve's one-on-one moment later, it was incredibly sweet and a lovely fleshing-out of a friendship duo we haven't really seen yet (on that note, pour one out for mat and egwene STILL not really getting to have an interaction, i don't think!). anyway, it's wonderful to see nynaeve slipping back into her wisdom role as caretaker of the group (and we can see that this gives her some confidence back after she's been feeling like such a failure channeling-wise), and i like that we hear about the traumatic side of mat's new hero memories with images of battles and pain and death haunting him 24/7. him admitting that he's struggling with this (and only after nynaeve pushes hard for him to admit it) after we've seen him living it up and putting smiles on all episode is such a good illustration of book!mat's whole "he'll holler about a papercut but treat a broken leg like it's nothing at all" attitude. he really sees his duty as being the light of the group and doesn't want to burden his struggling friends by confiding his own struggles in them. baby!

egwene accepted test speedrun! i was glad they made it brief but impactful, since we've already seen one in-depth test with nynaeve, no need to do it again. but her heading out of the city with rand & co at the end of the episode is the final nail in the coffin of my hopes for a gawene meeting this season :( i'll be interested to see how they get them to cross paths later, because from my perspective it seems like a tough thing to manage, logistically speaking! but you never know how they might shift things around.

in the books, gawyn's motive for defecting from elaida's army is that he hears egwene is her captive and he wants to help her. he needs to be sufficiently emotionally connected to her in order for that to happen - just a friend or a mild crush would be 100% fine, they don't need to have any real romance yet, so as long as s4(?) has them cross paths long enough to establish a good enough connection that we believe gawyn would desert his own men for egwene, we're all good. they could also change his motive, of course, but that might make me sad. unless it's a really good alternate motive! or, ooooooh, what if gawyn is still with elaida and is inside the tower during egwene's captivity arc, and he defects by helping her escape or something? that could be VERY tasty, and would delay his moment of switching sides longer to give them more time together beforehand and therefore accommodate their first meeting being pushed til later than it was in the books. i will count on gawene to be the slowburn romance i crave but have been denied elsewhere (more on that in a bit)

also, alviarin!! as we suspected. i noticed her when the cold open first dropped and i recognized her from the accepted test trailer shot, and i was like "this is the most beautiful woman i've ever seen in my life so if this really is alviarin then the shadow can take me" haha i'm excited to see more of her this season! the show continuing to bat 100 on making everybody hot! (also, we didn't get any confirmation this episode on whether tsutama and galina survived the battle, so hopefully that will come soon. galina had to have, surely, so hopefully tsutama did too!)

our first (and only this season, alas, but i expected that) randlayne scene! loved it so much! we get them bonding over duty and elayne teaching him about politics (hooooopefully a tee-up for a bigger arc of her teaching him wetlander politics in s4?), and an arm-touch and a smile. with both randlayne and avirand, they did a good job establishing a Vibe that's easy to imagine shifting into romance, but for now is subtle enough that viewers won't immediately take it as flirty and be indignant on egwene's behalf (not to mention it wouldn't fit rand's current headspace to be having flirty vibes with new people).

but who does have an overtly flirty vibe is avilayne! this was by far the most unexpected part of the episode for me. never in a million years would i have guessed they'd hook up already in 3x01. i'll be honest, and this is probably an unpopular opinion, but............i don't like it! i'm disappointed! i wanted a slowburn, i wanted to have to wait for it and build anticipation and cheer when it finally happened! i feel that i've been shortchanged out of getting to watch their relationship blossom and develop organically; instead, they've never met by the end of s2 and then by the start of s3 they're suddenly hooking up, and the only buildup we get is a couple flirty conversations and other characters telling us that they have vibes with each other. the focus on Immediate Flirting felt like the show going "hey we really want you to know immediately that both these characters are sapphic and that avirandlayne will be a throuple instead of a V in this version, so here, they're going to hook up right off the bat just so that you know right away they aren't straight" and i get shows wanting to establish characters' queerness as soon as possible since they'll be assumed straight otherwise, but the hookup didn't feel earned in my opinion (and even all the flirting was a bit too heavy too soon for my taste, oh how i love my slowburns). elayne said "finally" and i was like "what do you mean finally, i've only been watching you guys interact for 5 minutes?" it felt like i was only seeing that they're into each other, but not WHY they're into each other because, at least according to what i can still remember from the episode, so much of their pre-hookup conversation time was dedicated to flirty quips rather than meaningful conversation. for readers, them hooking up makes sense because we know how deep their book relationship is and that they're involved in a polycule together, but for show-onlys who don't have that context i feel like it would feel like a very random pair-the-spares that just kinda got dropped on them out of the blue. though i'll definitely have to rewatch to listen to those conversations more closely and see if there was more emotional depth there than i'm remembering, because i was so startled by the hookup that a lot of the episode's prior content flew out of my memory! i did like their conversation about rand and duty (and likewise elayne's conversation with rand about avi and duty), because there we do see that elayne understands avi and is able to reach her emotionally.

with siuaraine we had a wlw romance that was pre-established, and i was really looking forward to getting to watch a slowburn gradual development arc for a wlw romance with avilayne, but instead they moved faster and more offscreen than even any of the book romances ever did :( still, they DID frame it as a fairly casual thing, more flirtation and hookup than serious feelings, so i'll have to hope that they get some more depth added whenever they next see each other and that we'll get to watch their relationship grow and evolve and have an actual arc. me, i never like it when a romance is too easy in fiction! i don't want to see any of my favorite ships just fit together perfectly immediately and get together right away with no problems and be perfectly happy forever thereafter! hopefully, the addition of rand into the relationship will present a nice new emotional spin on the established avilayne dynamic so that we can watch their relationship with each other shift and grow. (and i JUST KNOW that avilayne already being a thing pre-rand will 100000x worsen the "why is a man ruining my f/f ship!!!!" reactions from certain segments of queer WOT fandom when he does start joining lmao and i'm sure plenty of show-onlys who don't already know about the polycule will be like "wait but i thought they were lesbians??" when they start having vibes with rand because audiences often tend to forget that bisexuality exists and assume that a character's sexuality is 100% determined by the gender of their first onscreen partner.)

so, yeah! i don't like this change, and i don't think i'll ever like it as much as i would have liked a proper avilayne slowburn no matter what else the show does with it in future seasons, but hey, getting explicit confirmation that romantic avilayne is in the cards is of course a great thing, so in that respect i am happy! i think i am just Like This about wanting to really be made to wait for it with romances, because i remember watching s1 as a show-only and being shocked that lanaeve hooked up when they did because it felt way too early to me.

on the other end of the spectrum of avilayne being thrown together too fast, we also have randgwene getting dragged out too long. i like their scenes in this episode and i'm sure it will be a very well-written emotional arc, and they DO need closure what with the way the show set up their relationship in the first two seasons, but again, just not my favorite adaptational change. i think i would've liked it more if we saw them break up in this episode and then navigate the emotional waters of Exes On A Roadtrip in the rest of the season as opposed to them probably spending most of the season both clinging onto an obviously dead relationship in a way that kinda feels like a waste of time and makes it so that there's even less breathing room in between their breakup with each other and their getting-togethers with their future partners, but of course we've only seen one episode so i'll have to wait and see how it all unfolds! if they break up in ep5 (which is when "egwene learns rand's dark secret," and maddy mentioned having a really good and cathartic scene with josha under the block 3 director), then that would leave a few episodes post-breakup to let the dust settle and watch them begin to build a new equilibrium with each other, and then i'd guess there might be a month+ timeskip between s3 and s4 to give them time to travel back out of the waste.

okay that's enough criticisms considering that i truly did LOVE this episode haha it's only that The Romances are my most-highly-anticipated thing so i get extra-sensitive to things not playing out Exactly The Way I Envisioned. but in the past the show has always delivered something even better than what i'd envisioned in the times when it went in a direction i didn't expect, so i will wait and see and trust in rafe & co!

moving on! i want to quickly revisit elayne trying to smooth things over with avi and rand, which i mentioned briefly above in the avilayne discussion. i loved these moments so much!!! elayne taking her duties as Chief Communicator Of The Future Polycule very seriously haha i'm so delighted that we did get a little connection formed between the three of them in this episode, but in an appropriately subtle way for the very very early stage we're in here. they definitely did a good job of establishing foundations to revisit later next time these three are together, even if i wish avilayne's foundation wasn't established QUITE this firmly this soon lmao although, now we're opening the door for "how to establish a polycule when two partners have already hooked up?" (or rather, have already hooked up AND parted on good terms that make it clear a repeat would be welcome, as opposed to book!rand having pre-polycule hookups but then parting on bad terms and thinking there's no future), and that could be quite an interesting new emotional spin on the polycule to look at. from avi's bafflement at the idea of Lying With No One Else in s2, it seems open relationships might be the norm for aiel, but how would elayne react to reuniting with avi & rand and learning that avi is growing interested in rand? would she feel any jealousy at first, or would she be all aboard right away? maybe we could get elayne trying to wingman avi with rand while also developing a crush on him herself, that would be adorable and hilarious.

and there's also the min of it all - if elayne joins up with avi & rand for s4 (which...........i feel like she HAS to, it's the only window of opportunity for making those relationships happen, and rand will definitely be in need of a wetlands politics teacher since moiraine will be gone without having taught him much about it yet), will min come with her? will she join the polycule in s4 as well? it's very interesting that, again, another episode with min and rand in the same city but they did not cross paths, so now we know they won't see each other all season. given that, would it feel too rushed for him to be romancing her as well as avi and elayne in s4? they DID already have a meaningful one-on-one scene in s1, so now on equal grounds with randlayne there, but that will have been aaaaages ago (for both the characters and the audience) by the time s4 rolls around, so i don't know if it would be able to lead into s4 romance the way randlayne's more recent meaningful one-on-one scene might (plus, it's established that randlayne spent a month together and consider each other friends now, whereas min only met rand for an evening).

(given that it's now twice that the show has had rand and min in the same location and chosen not to have them interact (granted, there wasn't much space for min in this episode since it was already jam-packed), i'm continuing to lean towards my theory that they'll focus on avirandlayne for now and min will be an optional addon to the polycule if they have enough time. though her scenes with elayne this season might change that prediction if they feel like they're setting up for her to join the polycule sooner rather than later!)

maiden's kiss, 10/10 spectacular and hot and we finally got official confirmation of what the game entails, god bless. mat wants to get pegged by bain and chiad confirmed, and then "the spears get closer if you're a bad kisser" followed by mat having a dozen cuts on his neck when we next see him is a great continuation of the Nobody Wants Mat Carnally saga jdkfjgh but then chiad winks at him as she's leaving at the end of the episode which cracked me up. they just like messing with him, and he likes being messed with. good for all of them!

(also mat's toast being like "may we all get hot redheaded girlfriends" put him in the polycule so help me god!)

and we got our confirmation that the new shadowspawn type is indeed gray men! and Show Lore drop that moggy is the only forsaken who knows how to make them (and we see her doing just that), which is super interesting. it was really cool how they filmed it too and how they managed to convey the concept of an assassin that people's eyes just slide off, with the way he's just kind of glimpsed in the background of shots until the moment he attacks, and then nynaeve and the audience are very much aware of his presence but mat is still totally oblivious (though that may have also been due to lanfear entrancing him with the cards).

moiraine listening to everybody screaming in pain and refusing to help and ordering lan not to help was diabolical in the best way! the layers this woman has! and then we get the reveal that the gray man was NOT part of lanfear's scheme and therefore things got even more out of hand than she, moiraine, or lan had anticipated. also a great moment for showing lan's conflicting loyalties between moiraine and nynaeve, and him actually being angry with moiraine for her decision was a great and needed aspect of the scene.

also, confirmation that all the happenings were caused by lanfear (and moggy), so we get the bubbles of evil events without the show needing to introduce a new type of magic fuckery by using the concept of bubbles of evil as the cause for the events. a great decision!

and they did good setup with everybody's motives for wanting to go to their different locations, despite their initial plan of wanting to stay together. i wish so badly that we could have had more time with the gang all together and get to have even more one-on-one scenes for the duos who didn't get them, but i always figured they'd probably be heading out on their missions for the season at the end of ep1 instead of lollygagging around the city for a second episode. we gotta get the ball rolling!

okay! that's all the thoughts off the top of my head, but there was so much to unpack in this episode and i don't know if i even got to half of it! i'm looking forward to rewatching this episode again in the future when i can absorb it better and also pause and make notes haha i think i won't rewatch any individual episode until after the whole season is out, though, and then i'll rewatch the whole season at once (maybe not immediately after it's over, i might give it a few weeks), at which time my thoughts on ep1 might be significantly different having seen the full season.

warnings: major angst // unrequited pining // slight cursing // probably other stuff that i missed

author’s note: this might be the longest fic i’ve ever written??? anyways i’m backkkk and hopefully i’ll start being consistent soon. i have so much planned and this has been in the works for quite a while now.

You were sitting on the couch at the Hughes lake house as you discussed your plans for the day. Well, more like you were listening to Ellen & Jim as they told you that they would be leaving on a trip for a few days and Jack was just there. He was on his phone, typing aggressively like the world would end if he didn’t finish whatever he was typing.

A sigh left Ellen’s lips when she realized that her middle child wasn’t even paying attention to what she was saying. You looked at Luke & Quinn, who both also saw that he was just not focusing. Quinn extended his arm to hit Jack’s knee in attempt to get his attention.

You said bye to Ellen & Jim, wishing them a safe trip before helping them carry their bags to their car. As you made your way back inside, you plopped right back into the same spot you were in before.

Moments passed and you turned your phone off, sparking conversation with Quinn & Luke about what the groups plans were for today.

“What do you guys wanna do?” You asked, hoping someone would come up with something fun.

“Boat day?” Luke suggested and you nodded in agreement.

“Are you gonna join us, Jack?” you questioned as you turned around to look at your best friend. His eyes didn’t shift from the device in his hands, causing you to roll your eyes.

You were annoyed, so you moved off the couch and walked to your room to change into your swimsuit.

"Where are you guys going?" Jack asked as you, Quinn & Luke walked towards the deck, his phone now off and on the couch.

"Boat day. We were talking about it but you were too indulged in your phone to even contribute to the conversation" Quinn stated as Jack's mouth formed an 'o' shape.

"Are you joining us or not?" Luke asked, waiting for his brother to respond so he could finally get some sun.

“Oh uh yeah. I'll join y'all. Just give me a few to change" He hopped up from his spot on the couch and went to his room to change while you made your way outside, the other Hughes brothers following.

10 minutes passed and Jack had not yet come outside. You were all getting rather impatient and annoyed with the boy.

"Can we just go without him?" Luke sighed, beyond frustrated with his brother. Just as he said that, the boy trotted out of the house and down the dock to where you all sat. You all immediately noticed his lack of swim trunks and rather a button-down shirt & some jeans.

"Hey guys. Sorry to bail on you all but I've got a date in like-" He looks down at his phone for a moment to check the time. "20 minutes so I've gotta get going. See you all later" Jack waved as he hugged everyone goodbye.

Your heart shattered the moment you heard "a date". You had been hopelessly in love with your best friend since you were kids. You'd known the Hughes brothers since you were 6, and you'd all been inseparable since day 1.

The ever-growing crush you had on Jack was evident to everyone around you except for him. Quinn and Luke would relentlessly tease you when you three were together. Hell, even Trevor and Nico would join in on the teasing whenever you saw them.

You faked a smile at his words, hoping he couldn’t see the tears welling in your eyes. You looked around at Quinn and Luke, who had already been looking in your direction, knowing damn well what you were thinking.

"Have fun, J. See you later" You said as you looked down, seeing as your mood had now been more ruined than it was before and you didn't want to deal with all your emotions, or rather the cause of these emotions, right now. You knew that if you made eye-contact with the boy, you would have a breakdown.

Jack jogs back up to the house and shuts the patio door, leaving you and the two other Hughes brothers on the boat for the day.

2 pairs of eyes immediately found your figure as you curled into a ball on the couch and let it all out. Both boys immediately came to your side for comfort, knowing how difficult this must be for you.

Luke rubbed your back as you sobbed while Quinn held you in his arms, holding you ever so carefully.

Hours passed before you all decided to head inside.

“I’m gonna head up to my room. If he asks, I'm out. I don't want to talk to him right now" You told the remaining brothers before going into your room and locking yourself away.

— later —

Jack arrived back at the lake house.

“Hey, where’s Y/n?” He asked as he wandered into the living room, noticing his brothers sitting on the couch watching a movie but you were nowhere in sight.

“She went out” Quinn simply said, not feeling the need to give his younger brother details.

"Out? What do you mean she went out?"

"She's not here, Jack. She wanted to go out so she did" Luke shrugged, trying to focus his attention back on the movie.

"And you both let her go by herself?!" Jack was practically shouting.

"She's 22 years old, Jack. She can make her own decisions" Quinn paused the movie to turn his attention to his brother. Jack let out a huff and sat next to his brothers to watch whatever movie they had put on, still ever so slightly upset that you had gone out without him.

20 minutes had passed since that initial exchange when Luke's phone got a notification. He glanced down at it and immediately got up and excused himself to the kitchen with a simple "I'll be back".

“What’s up with him?” Jack whispered to Quinn, who shrugged and paid no mind to his brother's curiosity. Moments later, Luke emerged from the kitchen and raced upstairs quickly.

You had texted Luke asking him to bring you some medication for the growing migraine you had from crying nonstop. He quietly knocked on the door to avoid attracting Jack's attention. You slowly unlocked the door and let the boy in as he handed you the pills and a bottle of water.

"You good?" He asked as you had a hand on your forehead and your eyes were red & puffy.

"I'll be fi-" The words got lost in your throat as you heard footsteps ascending the stairs and you saw the one person you did not want to see: Jack.

You muttered "shit" as you tried to hide behind Luke's tall frame, which was to no avail.

"Y/n? What're you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be out?" Jack asked as he made his way to your doorway.

"I uhh, came back early. Didn't feel too great" You lied through your teeth.

"How'd you come in? And when did you even come in?" Jack questioned you as he leaned against the door frame.

"Came in through the back door. Didn't wanna make too much noise to interrupt the movie" You slowly tried to push your door closed, but Jack was blocking the way.

Luke was stood there, watching the encounter unfold.

"Oh what's that Quinn? We need more popcorn? I'll grab some" He shouted down the stairs to remove himself from the extremely tense conversation he was witnessing.

“What’s wrong?” Jack's voice was low as he slowly pushed the door open and grabbed your hand.

“I’m fine, Jack. I just don’t feel good” You were on the verge of tears as you pulled yourself out of his hold.

“You look like you've been crying, Y/n/n... did someone say something to you?" Jack's anger slowly increasing at the thought of someone hurting your feelings.

"Nobody said anything. More so what you did. But I'll be fine, I'll get over it" Thankfully, he had back up enough to give you space to close the door, and his reflexes weren't fast enough to grab the door handle before you shut and locked it, leaving him on the other side of the door.

Your words left Jack extremely confused. More so what you did. What in the hell did he even do?

Once you had locked the door, you slid down the back of it as more tears spilled freely onto your cheeks. Why did you have to fall for your best friend?

Jack stomped down the stairs, confusion & frustration written all over his face as he threw himself onto the couch.

“What the hell did I even do?” He screamed into one of the cushions. Quinn & Luke exchange a look before ultimately deciding to tell him bits of the truth.

“You went on that date” Luke said quietly, praying that Jack has heard him the first time so he wouldn’t have to repeat himself. Fortunately for Luke, Jack lifted his head up as soon as the words left his mouth.

“What does that have to do with anything?” Jack was more confused than before. He didn’t understand what was going on.

“How is it that we all see it except for you, dude? She’s in love with you. She’s been in love with you for years now, and you’ve never once noticed or acknowledged her feelings. It’s evident to everyone in our lives except for you. You leaving on that date today made her feel like shit” Quinn spoke.

“Well, it made her feel more like shit than she already did before. You neglected her all morning because you were on your phone and then when we all agreed to go on the boat, you bailed on us and she felt more forgotten than ever before” Luke added onto Quinn’s speech.

Jack sat there in shock. There’s no way that you, his best friend of 16 years, were in love with him. He couldn’t fathom the thought, but slowly the realization sank in and now he felt horrible for his behavior. He didn’t mean to hurt you. He never knew.

He didn’t say anything before he raced up the stairs and knocked on your door but received no response.

“Y/n please let me in. I want to talk to you. Please hear me out” Jack pleaded as he rested his ear against the door, listening closely in hopes of hearing movement on the other side.

Silence. All that could be heard was the sound of the fan circulating air throughout the room.

Quinn & Luke had followed him up the stairs and watched as Jack slowly fell to his knees infront of your door. They’d never seen him like this before.

“J, she needs some space right now. Let her get some rest and talk to her in the morning. It’s the least she deserves” Luke suggested as he placed his hand on his brother’s shoulder.

— the next morning —

You woke up to a massive migraine, probably from all the crying you did last night. You felt uneasy as you stood from your bed and made your way to the connected bathroom.

You knew you’d have to see him again. You couldn’t avoid him, hell it was his house.

You braced yourself for the day as you washed your face and changed into something more comfortable before heading downstairs for breakfast.

You overheard a conversation taking place as you silently made your way down the stairs, in hopes of not alerting anyone of your presence quite yet.

Just as you turned the corner and entered the kitchen, silence filled the room. You chose to not acknowledge it, just as Jack had not acknowledged your feelings for him.

You felt multiple pairs of eyes on you as you grabbed yourself a bowl to pour some cereal. You slowly carried your bowl to the dining room, where everyone was seated.

It was only then that you had noticed the extra eyes staring at you. Seated at the table included Quinn, Luke, Jack, Trevor, Cole & Nico. The latter 3 must’ve flown in early in the morning because they weren’t here last night when everything happened.

You softly wave at the 3 boys before placing your bowl on the table.

“Morning” you quietly said as you sat on the bench between Quinn & Luke, which was ironically as far away from Jack as possible.

Small talk is made and you barely speak unless you’re spoken to. You quietly converse with everyone except for the middle Hughes brother. He hasn’t said a single thing to you this morning except for stare at you occasionally when he thought you didn’t notice. Of course you did, you always noticed.

Breakfast finished & you kindly collected everyone’s dishes and headed towards the kitchen to clean them.

You stood infront of the sink on your own for about 5 minutes when you felt a presence behind you.

“Can we talk?” You knew that notice all too well. You placed the plate in the sink as you turned around slowly, resting the plane of your hands on the edge of the counter.

You took in his appearance for the first time since he left for his date yesterday afternoon. His eyes were swollen, much like yours, and his hands were fidgeting at the back of his neck.

“Sure” You simply spoke, not wanting to be the one to bring up the elephant in the room. Jack cleared his throat before he spoke.

“Could we maybe go outside? I’ll get Luke to do the dishes or something so we can talk in private” He suggested as you nodded your head.

Jack led the way to the backyard before holding the door open with a simple “After you”.

You sat on the couch next to the fire pit, leaving Jack to sit next to you.

You sat in silence for a moment, enjoying the calming breeze the morning had brought. That peace was interrupted when Jack cleared his throat and turned to face you.

“I want to start with an apology. I genuinely had no idea that you even felt neglected yesterday. I was a shit friend and I shouldn’t have ditched you for someone else. I know I messed up. And I’m sorry that it’s taken me til now to realize how you feel towards me. All this time I thought it was just you being friendly, I never knew you liked me. I was so confused by what you meant yesterday that the realization didn’t click until Luke & Quinn said it. I couldn’t believe the fact that I had been the one to hurt you and I will forever be sorry for that”

Jack looked into your eyes, and he swears he could see your heart shatter into a million pieces at every word. God, how he wishes he wasn’t the reason behind it.

“I’ve been in love with you since we were 6, Jack. I’ve spent years pining after you, only to watch you pine after every other girl on this planet. This summer was different though. You paid no mind to other girls and you treated me like I was yours, and I stupidly believed that things would change between us. That was until yesterday. You act all lovey with me one second and then suddenly I’m nonexistent the next” You watched the frown grow on his face as you spoke.

“I’ve never been in a relationship because I’ve been holding out hope for you, Jack. Hope for you to finally come to your senses and see that I’ve been here waiting for you this whole time, stupidly thinking that my chance will come” Jack stayed quiet as you let it all out.

“I’m in love with you, Jack. I have been for the longest time and I really shouldn’t be” You cried into the hands as he stared at you in silence.

“Y/n/n…” Jack was at a loss for words. He didn’t know you felt that strongly about him, or that you watched everything unfold from the sidelines of his life.

“I didn’t mean to hurt you, Y/n/n”

“It’s okay, Jack. I’ll be fine, I’ll get over it. I just don’t know if I handle anymore heartbreak” You sobbed as Jack brought you into his embrace, holding you in his arms.

Despite you feeling this hurricane of emotions, his arms still felt like home to you. He felt like home.

“I hope I’m not too late” He whispered softly, causing you to remove yourself from is hold, a look of confusion spread across your face.

“Huh?” You sniffled as you wiped your nose.

“I’ve been in love with you from the moment I met you. Not even, the second I saw you holding that little bear of yours as you walked into your new house, I knew you were someone special. Someone who would be the only consistent person in my life besides my family. I always thought you saw me as a friend and never anything more, hence all the failed relationships. I’ve tried to get over you so much since I thought you’d never return the feeling. I looked for you in other girls, but none of them were you, so they never lasted. You have been the only person I have truly wanted since we were 6, Y/n/n. I now know that you’ve felt the same this entire time, and I have somehow misread everything for 16 years. The timing of this is horrible and I’m afraid I may be too late, but please know I do love you, Y/n/n. I always have & I always will” Jack confessed as he held your hand in his.

You searched his eyes for some sign of this being a sick and twisted joke, a prank that would forever haunt you and ultimately be the end of your friendship with the boy.

But you found none of that. You found love & hope & sadness. He hoped that the love he had for you was enough to fill the hole of sadness that he had accidentally burned into your heart. He hoped that you would forgive him and give him a chance to redeem himself.

A shy smile appeared on your face before you removed your hands from his to wipe the tears on your face, and the tears that were slowly trickling down his.

“I love you too, J. You’ll always have a chance” A goofy smile took over your face as the boy brought you into a tight hug, holding you there for what felt like an eternity.

After who know how long, he finally pulled away and let you breathe.

“I’m so happy right now that I could kiss you, but I won’t solely because we just made up and I’m not trying to ruin my chances & lose you again”

“Oh shut up” You placed both hands on the sides of his face & pulled him for a kiss.

The world felt like it had stopped but like it was also spinning simultaneously. The butterflies you got in your stomach when his lips touched yours felt heavenly.

Jack, who was a little taken aback by the kiss, immediately kissed you back once he realized what was happening. One of his hands found its way to your face and the other at your hip.

You wish you could live in this moment forever, and you genuinely believed you could, that is until you heard cheering coming from behind you. You both pulled apart to see Quinn, Luke, Cole, Trevor & Nico all cheering from the patio.

“THEY FINALLY DID IT!!!” Trevor shouted as he jumped up and down.

“Hurt her again, Hughes & you’re gonna regret it” Nico said before making his way back inside the house. You looked back to Jack to see him gently caressing the back of your hand.

“Wouldn’t even think about it” he smiled as he pressed a kiss to your temples, holding you closer than ever before.

Y/N’S POV

It was a very beautiful day in Barcelona I was visiting my older brothers Pedri and Fernando. I normally live with my parents in Tenerife but because I had a break from uni I decided to visit my dear brothers. I always had a special bond with both my brothers especially with Pedri since he’s only a year older than me. I was sat in front of the tv watching some Netflix when Pedri came to me and started talking.

“Yo hermana I’ve got three tickets for the Barcelona’s Grand Prix this weekend, do you want to come with me and Fer?”. I looked at him confused, I did know about F1 and even knew a few drivers but didn’t really bother to watch every race so I was confused to why he asked me if he knew that I wasn’t really interested in it. “An F1 race? Since when do you like formula one?”. He looked at me annoyed. "Since they’ve invited me and they were kind enough to send me two extra tickets so you better come. Also mom and dad wouldn’t appreciate me leaving you all alone at home”.

I started laughing imagining my parents beating up Pedri and Fer. “Alright I will come with you guys because I know you can’t live without me.” Pedri scoffed. “Now don’t get too confident hermana.” “With you as my brother I could never” I said laughing and pushing him over, running away from him. “Is that how you treat your older brother niñita?” He shouted running after me.

TIME SKIP

It was the day of the Grand Prix, although I didn’t know what to expect I was still very excited. We were currently in the car on the way to the Grand Prix, Pedri was driving and Fer sat next to him and I was sitting in the back. I was jamming to the music in the car when Fer turned to me and started talking.

”Listen hermana, Grand Prix’s are often very busy so it’s important that we stick together because that place is way too big and easy to get lost in.” I rolled my eyes at my brother. “Fer are you serious? How old do you think I am? I can perfectly keep up with you guys. And besides that what if I get lost? It’s not like we don’t have phones?” Now it was Fernando’s turn to roll his eyes at me.

“It might not be a big deal to you but to us it is. If mama heard that we’ve lost you she would go livid.” “Alright alright I promise I will stay close”. Both my brothers nodded at my words and we continued jamming to the music in the car until we’ve reached our destination.

We arrived a bit later than we were supposed to since it was so busy, Fer wasn’t lying when he said that this place can be very crowded. I was looking around and walking close to my brothers. I didn’t expect this place to be so cool honestly. I might visit these races more often. There are many pros to have an older brother who’s famous but there are also a lot of cons.

Like right now, my brother was taking many pictures with people and also doing interviews. I was waiting for him to finish, already getting bored. Fer went to the toilet so I was alone waiting for Pedri. I was just scrolling on my phone when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turn around and frowned at the girl standing in front of me, I’ve never seen her before.

“Hey you’re y/n right? Pedri’s little sister?” Ooh now I understood what she wanted. Well you see being the little sister of a pro athlete means that their fans will also know their family. “Hey yeah that’s me!” I replied enthusiastically. I didn’t realise but 10 minutes past, I had a lovely conversation with this girl but she had to leave. Looking around I started panicking since I couldn’t find my brothers anymore.

They suddenly disappeared, I grabbed my phone planning on calling them but I cursed under my breath since my phone died. “Shit man, I should’ve brought my power bank.” I took matters in my own hands and started walking around the paddock looking for my brothers.

Like I mentioned before, this place is huge it feels like it’s never ending. Still looking around for my brothers, I wasn’t really paying attention to my surroundings in front of me since I was looking to the left side. That probably wasn’t a good idea because all of a sudden I bumped into a hard chest sending me straight to the ground eating shit.

“I’m so sorry miss, are you alright?” Asked a manly voice, I looked at the person and I could see a pretty handsome brunette staring down at me reaching his hand out for me to hold. I grabbed his hand embarrassed by the fall I just made. “I’m alright, I’m so sorry I wasn’t really paying attention.” I told him. He chuckled looking in my eyes, just then I realised that he had very beautiful coloured eyes.

“Don’t worry! It was my fault as well I was kinda distracted it wasn’t my intention to send you to the ground.” I laughed at him already liking his attitude. “Well yeah that was kinda embarrassing. But thanks for helping me, I’m looking for my brothers but ended up eating dirt instead.” He laughed at me still looking at me with those beautiful eyes.

“Really are you lost?” “Yeah I kinda am, I’ve never been here before. I was waiting for my brothers and in the meantime a girl came up to me and started talking but when we finished our conversation I couldn’t find them anymore.” He looked at me with a confused expression. “You’ve never been here before? In the way of never visited the Barcelona GP or just to a F1 race in general?”

I looked at him weird, what has that got to do with me losing my brothers? “Euhm I’ve never been to a F1 race at all, so I’m not really familiar with this.” He looked at me with a relieved expression? “So you don’t know who I’m?” I looked at him confused before answering.”Should I know who you are?” He chuckled at my response. “No don’t worry about it but you said that you’ve lost your brothers right? Have you tried calling them?” “No because my phone died that’s the main reason why I’m looking around here like a kid who’ve lost their parents.” I said with a laugh.

He laughed as well. “Well miss if you give me your name I would gladly give you my phone so you can call them.” I forwarded my hand to him introducing myself to the handsome stranger. “I’m y/n, nice to meet you mister?” He took my hand and shook it, introducing himself as well. “Beautiful name for a beautiful girl, it’s nice to meet you my name is Lando.” Ngl that actually made me blush, so I quickly looked away from him but I could hear him slightly chuckle. He handed me his phone so I could call my probably worried brothers.

LANDO’S POV

After giving this beautiful girl my phone I started thinking. How come she doesn’t know me when there are literally pictures of me displayed all over the paddock. But honestly I was kinda relieved since I thought that I had bumped in a crazy fan earlier. Her not knowing who I am gave me the opportunity to kinda mess with her and also to feel like a normal person for once.

Those thoughts were quickly interrupted by her giving me my phone back. “Here you go Lando, thank you so much for letting me use your phone I would’ve been doomed if it wasn’t for you! My brothers are at the restaurant at the entrance so I’m going over there.” I smiled at her happy face.

“That’s no problem y/n, but do you know we’re the restaurant is because I don’t want you to get lost again.” She laughed at me not taking my words serious. “Don’t worry I remembered where it was located since I could smell the amazing pastries they had there earlier” she adds with an adorable laugh.

“Alright pretty girl, hope to see you around.” After bidding her goodbye I couldn’t help but curse at myself for not asking her number or something, but before I could even look for her she was gone.

BACK TO Y/N

I couldn’t help but be a bit disappointed because I actually liked talking to Lando he seemed nice. Shaking those thoughts off I had better things to do and that was to find my brothers and hoping that they wouldn’t be mad at me.

Finally reaching the restaurant, I could see my brothers standing near the entrance waiting for me. I called their names and soon both of them came running to me. “Y/n dios mío, we thought we lost you forever for a second.” Was heard from Fer. “Yeah we already started digging our own graves because non of us would’ve had the balls to tell mama.” Pedri says earning a laugh from all of us. “Alright you guys are so dramatic and this time it wasn’t even my fault that I got lost, you guys just disappeared.”

Both of them looked at each other with guilty eyes and turned to me with a small smile. “Yeah alright this one was on us, but if you won’t tell mama we will buy you your favourite pastries.” “All of them?” I add with a smirk. Both my brothers rolled their eyes but agreed.

After we watched the race we were headed to the garages of some drivers since Pedri wanted to talk to them. I had to admit I did like watching the race, there was so much happening. The adrenaline, the speed, the loud engines it was just simply addicting. Arriving at the garages both my brothers headed to talk to some drivers but not without warning me to stay close to them and not wander off.

I looked around me and noticed that each garage had their own colours. For example Ferrari had red, Mercedes had black and McLaren had orange more like a papaya colour. But wait a second, looking back at the McLaren garage I could see a familiar face. It was that Lando guy from earlier.

Shocked I took a few steps closer to look at the poster better. 'Lando Norris driver for McLaren' it stated. So you're meant to tell me that I've talked to one of the drivers earlier? That's actually insane. I quickly returned to my brothers and let those thoughts sink in.

It’s been 10 minutes since my brothers were talking to the drivers with the names Verstappen and Pérez what I’ve learned after standing there for such a long time. I was starting to get thirsty because we’ve walked all day long plus it was so hot in Barcelona today.

I looked around me and spotted a vending machine. I tapped Fer on his shoulder to gain his attention, soon he turned to me with a confused face. “I’m thirsty can I walk over there and get a drink from the machine.” Fer looked over to the vending machine seeing that it wasn’t too far and could still see me. “Alright, but only get your drink and come back we wouldn’t want the same events from earlier to happen again.” He added with a stern voice. “Okey sir, don’t worry I will be back in no time.”

After getting his permission I started walking to the vending machine, I needed some money so as I was walking I started searching for some change in my purse. Unaware of my surroundings I again bumped into someone. But that’s when I heard the same voice again.

“Second time we bumped into each other it’s really destiny at this point.” It was Lando, this time he was dressed in his racing attire still a bit sweaty from the race earlier. “Well it’s nice seeing you again Lando.” He smiled at me before talking again. “You haven’t lost your brothers again have you?” He laughed at me.

I groaned at his response. “Listen that only happened once and that wasn’t even my fault. Also my brothers are over there talking to some drivers." I pointed at them so Lando could see them. Lando turned to me a bit shocked. “Wait your brother is Pedri, the football player?” I looked at him amused. “Yeah that’s him.” “Why didn’t you mention that earlier?” He asked still looking at Pedri.

“Well mister Norris, you didn’t mention that you were a driver either.” I said with a smirk. He laughed. “You’ve got me there, I guess we both had our secrets.” I smiled agreeing to his words. “Hey y/n listen it was very nice talking to you, I really enjoyed our conversation. But I have to go, do you mind doing me the honour of giving me your phone number?”.

I couldn’t believe my ears at first, did he really ask me for my number? Wait let’s get this straight a F1 driver wants my number? Yeah mental. I quickly composed myself so I wouldn’t make a fool out of myself. “Yeah sure give me your phone so I can type it in!” After exchanging our numbers we both separated our ways.

That was 6 months ago, me and Lando have been dating for 2 months now. Ever since we’ve exchanged numbers back then, we had been talking non stop. We would secretly meet up but it ended up with him visiting me most of the time since I still had uni.

Our relationship was pretty much a secret, the only people that knew about it were some of his friends on the paddock, his best friend Max and his parents. For me the only people who knew were my parents and best friend. My brothers don’t know, I don’t what to tell them because I know how they would freak out since they’re very protective over me especially Pedri. Pedri can be very dramatic about this, so that’s why I decided to keep it from them but just for now.

I was currently visiting Lando in Monaco since I had a break from uni. I came with him to the paddock to keep him company since he’s been whining all morning long for me to come with him. I have been here for two weeks now I have to leave in two days to return home.

I didn’t want to leave actually, I had a great time here in Monaco spending time with my boyfriend. My thoughts were quickly interrupted by a hand on my thigh.

“Baby are you alright? You’ve been quiet ever since we woke up today.” I looked at him and could see the concern in his eyes. “Yeah I’m alright amor don’t worry about it.” I tried convincing him but if there was one thing Lando was good at it would be that he could read me like an open book.

He scooted closer to me lifting me up slightly and seating me on his lap. He had both his arms secured around my waist and he kissed my shoulder lightly. “Babe you know damn well that I know when you’re lying. Now tell me what’s really going on, I’m your boyfriend I would do anything to make those worries of yours disappear.” He added with a chaste kiss on my cheek. I smiled at him slightly feeling better.

“I’m just worried you know. I don’t want to return home tomorrow without you. The long distance has been killing me lately and now that we’ve spent two weeks together really made realise that I don’t want to be apart from you.” He looked at me with sad eyes.

“I know love, I had an amazing time with you and I’m also not ready to let it go. But we’ve talked about this remember? You’re almost done with uni and then we can finally live together.” His words made me happier but there was still one thing that was bothering me. “You’re right but we still haven’t told my brothers, it just feels like I have a huge weight on my shoulders.

I love them but I’m scared that they wouldn’t approve of our relationship.” Lando was quiet for a few seconds before speaking again. “Babe listen what if I came with you back home. You told me that your brothers will be there as well. We can’t keep postponing this. Think about it, it’s not fair towards your brothers as well you know.” He was right, I couldn’t keep this secret from them any longer. I want to be able to go out with Lando freely without having to worry about anything. I looked at him.

“You’re right babe, we should do it.” Lando was so happy to hear that, he jumped up nearly dropping me to the ground but he quickly caught me. “Babe that’s amazing, I will sort out a private jet immediately. You just have to call your parents and let them know." He grabbed my face with his large hands and kissed me passionately. I couldn’t help but smile into the kiss excited but also nervous about telling the news to my brothers.

Me and Lando were currently seated in his private jet. I was so nervous, probably more nervous than Lando. I kept bouncing my leg up and down from the stress but Lando noticed it and held my thigh in place.

“Babe calm down, you’re more nervous than me.” He said laughing and pecking my nose. “I’m sorry amor I can’t help it, I just hope my brothers won’t make a drama out of it especially Pedri.” I said looking down sadly imagining the worst scenario to happen. Lando tilted my chin with his fingers so I could look at him. “Hey hey baby don’t talk like that. Everything will go well alright? I know it’s a tough situation but your brothers only want to protect you but regardless of what happens today we both know that our love is stronger than anything else right?” His words made me feel lighter and so much better but I couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Why are you laughing babe?” Lando looked at me confused especially after his little speech. I pecked his nose before answering. “Your words were beautiful babe but I would’ve never expected the Lando Norris to become such a sap for me.” I said laughing. Lando started whining. “C’mon babe way to ruin my perfect speech, now I’m cringing from myself.” He said hiding his face in my neck.

“Alright I’m sorry my big baby I appreciate everything you do for me.” I said kissing him meaning everything I just said. “Look at who’s the sap now.” “Lando shut up before I wipe that smirk of your face.” Lando didn’t stop there. “And what if I don’t.” He said with a smirk. “Alright then you can pleasure yourself alone then tonight.” I said closing my eyes ready to take a nap leaving a whining Lando next to me.

We just landed not too long ago, me and Lando were currently sitting in the uber on the way to my parents house. The entire car journey I couldn’t help but overthink but Lando was quick to reassure me. We arrived and took our luggage out of the car and thanked the driver. This was it, this was the moment that could determine the rest of my relationship.

Lando sensed my uneasiness and took my hand in his hand and gave it a light squeeze as a sign of reassurance. I rung the bell and soon my parents opened the door. “Hola hija mía, te extrañé mucho.” (Hello my daughter, I’ve missed you so much.)Was heard from my mother before she pulled me into a hug. “Mama I was only gone for two weeks.” I laughed at her dramatic antics. Soon both my parents greeted Lando. They had met him before and they were fond of him, treating him like their own son.

That’s what I loved about it. Soon we made our way to my room, placing our luggage down. We both got refreshed and headed downstairs for dinner. Me and Lando sat down next to each other when I couldn’t help but ask my mother about my brothers. “Mama, where are Fer and Pedri? Weren’t they supposed to be here?” My mother turned to me and answered me.

“I sent them out to get some stuff so they will be here soon." Not even 20 seconds later we could hear the bell. This was it, this was the moment I was dreading for so long. Lando sensed that I was nervous so he rubbed my thigh softly as reassurance. Soon I could hear the loud voices of my brothers coming closer. I stood up from my seat and so did Lando. “Hola Fer y Pedri, how are you guys?” I asked hugging them both. “Hola hermana we’re doing good.”

Was heard from Pedri but before they could talk further I started talking. “I would like you guys to meet my boyfriend Lando.” They both fell silent for a bit before pushing me aside and going over to my boyfriend. The next thing really caught me off guard and so did it to my parents. “Dios mío, you’re Lando Norris!” “Fer our sister is dating a F1 driver!” Wait a second both my brothers were fangirling over my boyfriend? Is this what I was scared for all this time?.

“Y/n why haven’t you told us that you were dating Lando Norris.” Before I could reply Fer interrupted me again. “Never mind I don’t even care anymore, Lando do you have any paddock passes for your next race for us?” “Can we have a test drive in your car once?” My boyfriend stood there not knowing what was going on. “Dios mío, leave the poor guy alone. He’s here as your sister’s boyfriend and not as the race driver. Now both of you sit down." They immediately listened to my mother’s words.

It was safe to say that my brothers wouldn’t stop bothering my boyfriend with their silly questions but I couldn’t help but be happier since they’ve approved of our relationship.

Later in the evening, me and Lando were sitting together cuddled up on the coach enjoying each other’s presence. “You know I was actually surprised by your brothers’s reactions.” Lando said laughing. “Yeah you’re not alone I’ve never seen them react like that.” I said laughing. “But regardless of that I couldn’t be happier about it.” Lando smiles pecking my temple. “I told you everything will fall into place.” I smiled at him, both leaning in for a kiss but before our lips could even touch a pillow hit our faces.

“You might be Lando Norris but I still don’t want any PDA in front of me.” “PEDRO ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” Before I could even hit that idiot back he was already gone leaving my boyfriend laughing his butt off at what just happened. Looking around me I realised one thing: I wouldn’t want it any other way.

drew had been gone filming for about a month now.

for you, it was easy not to get so hung up over the fact he was gone for such a long time.

when you first started dating, it was definitely a tragedy. and it pained you everytime that you couldn’t just go with him.

and even now, of course you missed him like crazy. but after all these years of being together, you’ve learned how to deal with it and it got easier.

but for his baby aaliyah who’s never been separated from her daddy? oh this was hell.

she couldn’t even stand the sight of him walking out the door for 10 minutes, so now that he’s walked out the door, and hasn’t come back for weeks?

she definitely was not having it.

you knew how she was going to react as well, so for weeks you prepared yourself for the endless tears and tantrums.

“you know she’s going to be a pain when i’m gone, right?” drew reminds you while you guys get ready for bed.

“trust me, i know. im getting myself ready for it as we speak.” you reply as you start to wrap your hair up for bed.

he chuckles. “you guys can always come with, though. that’d be a good idea especially for her.”

“maybe like a visit for a few days, but i don’t think her being out of the country for that long is a good idea.” you said as you laid down in the bed. drew agreed with that statement and you both moved on to the next topic.

that was weeks ago. but now? you were starting to consider whether or not you should’ve just taken drew’s idea.

you tried so many resolutions with liyah, and nothing seemed to work.

the girl never seemed to tire herself out either. she just recently turned one, yet you were already seeing the tunnel to the terrible 2’s somehow.

to be fair, she was an angel. but once she got started, you didn’t know if and when she was going to stop.

currently you were trying to feed her. you had ms rachel on your phone in front of her because that seemed to calm her down in the tiniest bit when she would get upset.

it was going good, until drew had started to call you.

and as soon as she saw the picture of you and him pop on the screen, waterworks flooded all over again.

“i just calmed this baby down and now he wanna call me.” you mutter to yourself, partially annoyed even though he couldn’t control it.

facetimes never seemed to make her feel better and it actually quite made her even more upset, but maybe hearing his voice at the very beginning of a breakdown could ease her, so you went ahead and picked up.

“hello?” you propped the phone up on the table then picked her up and tried shushing her.

he didn’t even need to ask ‘how are my girls?’ because he could clearly tell.

“awe, i miss my baby too.” he pouts.

you picked up the phone and put it in her face so she could see him. “talk to her, your voice might help.”

“hi my love. shh, it’s okay daddy’s right here.” he says through the phone.

she stops wailing, but she’s still making whining and crying noises.

“she’s taking this even worse than i thought,” you say. “i knew it was going to be bad, but not this terrible.”

“she’s just a true daddy’s girl. what can i say?” drew smirks through the phone.

“you might find this funny but i have real life headaches from her, joseph.” he laughs at the use of his real name.

“i bet you do, im sorry baby.” he says, “why don’t you guys come and visit for a little bit?”

this time, you were quick to actually be on board.

“i think that’s a good idea too.” you started bouncing aaliyah up and down and gave her kisses. she wasn’t as loud with her whining, but she was still continuing. “i think it’s time we go see daddy.”

drew smiles, “i can’t wait. i’m gonna take some time off and buy your tickets. when do you wanna come out?”

“shit, tomorrow.” you sigh.

he laughs again at your comments but knows you’re being completely serious at the same time. “get to packing then baby.”

that’s all he had to say for you to pick the phone up and make your way upstairs with liyah.

first you started in liyah’s room. drew was still on the phone with you, talking way more than you were because she seemed to be getting quieter and quieter. it bothered her that she couldn’t feel him, but right now she’s was taking whatever she could take.

you showed him outfits, he decided whatever or not he liked him. you made sure to pack a whole separate bag for all of her baby necessities as well.

because you were connecting with drew in some way, it felt like an easy task you were able to accomplish. you knew for a fact if he wasn’t on the phone it would’ve taken you the rest of the day with her wailing and screaming.

when you were done packing her bag, you tried putting her to sleep. of course it took about an hour, but eventually she was soundly asleep. all you could do was thank heavens.

placing her in her crib, you had to really tiptoe out the door. if she woke up while you were in the middle of trying to walk out and leave, that would be another meltdown waiting to happen.

you and drew stayed on the phone even after she was liyah was put to sleep, but you made sure to keep the volume of the phone down so that his voice didn’t travel to her. now it was time to pack your clothes. he helped you pick out your outfits, and you did a mini fashion show for him with your outfits.

he loved them all, and occasionally gave a ‘do a little spin for me.’

every moment with him, or even just talking to him was great. no matter if you were actually next to him, or through the phone.

but unfortunately, you guys couldn’t stay on the phone forever. it was soon time for him to start filming again.

“i gotta go baby, but i love you so much, and i’ll see you two soon.” he said while walking back to his set. “kiss my baby for me.”

“i will. i love you too.” you smile then hang up the phone. you sighed and rubbed your face, thinking about how quick this was happening, but how ready you were at the same time. if it was going to get her to stop crying so much and was also going to get you to see your man again, a win is a win!

after everything, it was about 5 pm. this was a late nap for liyah and she would be up end up being bouncing up off the walls, but maybe that was good cus then she would sleep on the plane ride tomorrow.

heading back downstairs, you made dinner for yourself & made sure to leave a little for liyah cus she’ll get hungry out of nowhere.

you also made it a chore to clean the entire downstairs of your house, because coming back to a clean house after a few days on vacay is always a nice thing.

surprisingly, liyah didn’t wake up once. you weren’t too loud, but loud enough for her to start yelling, waiting for mommy or daddy to pick her up.

you love that girl to death, but her tantrums are for the birds.

after you were done, you went to check on her. she was still soundly asleep, most likely for once tired herself out with all the noises. soon, you were going to have to wake her up so she could take a bath. but you weren’t worried about that at the moment. you were finally able to pamper yourself for the evening, then deal with her later.

your phone dinged, and knowing what the message was you opened it right away.

2 attachments from drew, and they were your tickets to morocco for 10 days at 6 am.

hearting both of the attachments, you started to get excited.

one month wasn’t too much of a long period of time, but it was always enough for you and your baby to miss him more and more each day.

you could finally see him again, and you’d be reunited as a family.

the night went smoothly. she only woke up once, and that was to bathe and eat a bit of what you had made. she was easy to put back to sleep, and that’s what matter the most. you could’ve had more sleep for yourself, but the hours were efficient enough.

sooner than later your alarm rang for 4:30. you weren’t a morning person whatsoever, but you definitely did not have a problem waking up right now since you knew what was to come in only a matter of time.

it was going to be a real long ride of 11 hours, but the outcome would be worth it.

getting up out of bed, you brushed your teeth and washed your face with your products, then put those into your suitcase.

you let liyah sleep for a few more minutes, then woke her up knowing you were just going to put her in her mini uggs and throw a coat over her pajamas.

and as for you, you were keeping your hair the way it was and throwing on a hoodie and sweatpants.

you took this time to order the uber to the airport, and bring both of your suitcases and her baby bag downstairs.

walking back up to her room, you picked her up from the crib and started to pat her back while bouncing her. the movement would keep her asleep and peaceful instead of awake and cranky.

“we’ll see daddy sooner than you know it, mama.” you whispered to her.

not even bothering to make breakfast since it was too early for the both of you to be eating, you turned off everything in the house and waited for the car. it was now 5:15 and the car was going to pull up any minute.

liyah woke up for just two seconds, “mama?”

“yes baby?”

“where dada?”

“we’re gonna see him in a few hours, don’t worry.” you softly laid her head back down so she could close her eyes again. as she was falling asleep, the car pulled up and it was time to go.

stepping outside with a baby and one hand and dragging suitcases in the other, the driver stepped out to help you load up, and you placed aaliyah in the car seat you had requested the driver to have.

he closed the trunk and hopped right back into the car. he pulled out from your driveway and made small talk with you. you tried your best to keep up, but it was just too damn early.

after a 10 minute ride to the airport, he unloaded your things for you and helped you bring them inside while you carried liyah. you thanked him, then did all the stuff you needed to do before waiting to board the plane.

aaliyah was still asleep, clearly all the tantrums finally caught up with her.

you texted drew a few times, even though he was most likely resting.

but about 30 minutes later, it was time to board the plane. you had all your luggage ready, and you guys were finally able to start the real travel.

the plane ride was long, but it wasn’t bad.

you kept liyah busy with movies, coloring, and eating a few things.

she didn’t eat everything since plane food isn’t the greatest, but she ate some and so did you.

you had boarded the plane around 6 in the morning, well now it was 4:30 and you had just landed.

aaliyah had a burst of energy, and you knew she was ready to just play and be carefree again.

thankfully, the passengers were nice enough to help you walk off the plane and help with your luggage when they saw you with a baby, so the plane experience overall was definitely a 10/10.

you had called drew on the plane, and he let you know he’d been waiting with open arms. you were overjoyed, practically jumping with excitement on the inside and out.

but if you think you were over the top happy, seeing the look on aaliyah’s face while you walked to find drew waiting at the morocco airport had you all the way beat.

“DADDY!!!” she screamed in your arms once you started to make it towards him.

you giggled at her her volume, and was also just happy enough yourself to laugh at anything knowing you were finally with drew again.

he walked towards the two of you and met you halfway, “is that my baby girl?” he smiled and took her from you. their bond was something so special to you, and you were so grateful for how strong their relationship was.

he gave her many kisses and tickles, which made her laugh. this was the first time you saw her so excited in a while.

“and my other baby girl.” he turned to you, pulling you in and giving you a passionate kiss. you weren’t holding back either, you hadn’t seen your man for far too long now. because of this, you covered liyah’s eyes which made drew laugh.

finally pulling away, he kisses your forehead. “i got our whole week planned out.”

this made you smile. “and what will we be doing?”

“there’s restaurants i want you guys to try, there’s a really nice beach, and i got us a really nice hotel. i promise you these 10 days are gonna make up for the month i left you with this little drama queen,” he started liyah a bit at the last part which made her laugh again. her laughs were always so contagious and it made the two of you laugh as well.

“i know they will, you never disappoint.” you kissed his cheek.

he gets close to your ear and whispers so liyah doesn’t hear, “and i promise once we wrap filming, i’ll make you finish everynight, baby.”

this gets your cheeks hot. you can’t lie at all, you really did miss being tossed and turned by him once she was asleep at night.

“be careful with what you say,” you point a finger at him, “i’ll make you a daddy for the second time.”

he laughs, “please do.”

you roll your eyes at him, then start walking out to where his car is.

drew spent the wholeeee time talking to liyah, even though she mostly still speaks in her baby language.

he was having so much fun too, constantly giving an occasional ��oh really’ and ‘what happened after that?’

it kept him entertained and so did you. you stayed recording the entire thing and could barely hold in your laughter.

you made finally made it to the hotel (not before stopping for some real food though of course.) and he was definitely not lying when he said it was really nice.

nice wasn’t even a good word, it was gorgeous.

“wow,” the three of you walked in. your hands dealing with the cart of luggage while his carried aaliyah. “this really is beautiful.”

“i know,” he looks like he’s in awe himself while he takes in the hotel. “only the best for my girls.”

you smile at him and he wraps an arm around you, the three of you making your way to the hotel room.

you were very happy you took this vacation.

warnings: pyschical fighting, tons of flashbacks,drinking and hard angst.

flashback.

Me and Matt were friends at first, I met Nick and Chris before Matt. We all met in 7th grade, and Matt always knew how to catch my eye. Marylou was like a mother to me.

She knew how to comfort me when I was crying or when I was angry. She knew everything to calm me down, She knew me and she always knew if there was something wrong with me.

Nick was my best friend and he couldn’t always tell what was wrong with me but Chris could, he would always go to Marylou. Chris was always my bestfriend too but it felt different with him. I could always depend on Chris in a different way then Nick.

I had no really big connection to Matt till sophomore year, I was always bullied by Gracie. Gracie was always popular and always dated someone, one day she pointed out about my dead mom.

That was my breaking point and everyone knew that, Matt saw my red puffy eyes the night i went over and he asked me what was wrong and I explained.

He let me cry in his arms that night and then we connected instantly after that night.

End of flashback.

Nicole bursts into my room "GUESS WHOS HAVING A PARTY TONIGHT!" She said yelling, "hm?" I said calmly. "THAT BITCH GRACIE" she says. My eyes go wide questioning why she's excited, she notices and says "it's ur time to make him jealous y/n/n."

7 hours later

While I was doing my makeup my phone got a notification.

I left him on opened.

I finally got done getting ready, Nicole called a Uber knowing it would be a fun night. The Uber took 10 minutes to get to the party.

The strobing lights making it hard to see, me and Nicole went instantly to the alcohol stand. I already saw Gracie and Matt but I paid no attention.

Matt caught me looking at them once and I just couldn't do it. Nicole wanted to stay with me the whole night, she pointed out a guy she thought was cute and i told her i would be fine. I wasn't going to be fine, but for her I would always be fine.

I drank enough for the night when Chris came up to me, "hey y/n, are you doing okay?" He says worried. "Yea im doing okay." Slurring at my words, i stumble and trip but Chris is there to catch me.

It caught Matt's eye making his jaw clench. I catch the fact i made him jealous, but I wouldn't do that to Chris.

Chris leaves me alone for a second to talk to his friends, but then my ex was there. Gio, he was a asshole and he was Gracie's ex also which made it more aggravating. "Oh lookey whos here" he says in a sarcastic tone.

"What do u want Gio?" you say annoyed. "Oh nothing sweetie" he says with a grin that makes u want to slap it off. Matt and Chris notice that your ex is talking to you, and tried to get all touchy with you.

"Gio stop touching me" you push him back, he doesn't comply, Chris and Matt are getting pissed off about the fact that he's bugging you. As he's about to kiss you someone pulls him away and punches him. Chris was punching Gio repeatedly when Matt came over to stop Chris.

Gio was beaten to the floor with a already black eye and busted lip, blood on Chris's knuckles. Your eyes went wide at the sight, Matt questioned why Chris beat him to protect you.

Matt always questioned if Chris was in love with you, he always put those thoughts aside while he was laying in bed with you.

Gracie walked over and already started complaining "ugh of course this shit happens with her here." Matt already gave her a look that made her skin crawl, Chris didn't pay any attention to her only wondering if you're okay.

Nicole finally came over and saw what happened, she took your wrist and led you outside. Chris snapped out of Matt's hold following you outside, Matt then followed Chris outside. Gracie was just there taking care of Gio, when Matt left her there.

Nicole noticed Chris was following you and didn't care, but when she noticed Matt was too she immediately tried blocking him off. "Matt stop following y/n it's weird just leave her alone" she says harshly.

Matt replies saying, "I was following my brother and I still care about her Nicole". He says annoyed "if you cared about her, you wouldn't have cheated on her" Chris says chiming in.

"It's fine if he follows us" you says sternly, "it's not y/n he was a dick to you." Chris says with sympathy, You look at him with pleading eyes and he agrees. All four of you were on the backyard patio, "Chris what the fuck was that back there" Matt says.

"Y/n was getting dicked around with Gio and it was pissing me off" he says while looking at me, "I know he was and it was pissing me off as well but this is Gracie's party and your my brother, it's embarrassing Chris" he says harshly.

"Hey don't talk to him like that" you say towards Matt, Matt looked into your eyes searching for the love u once had for him. Nothing was there anymore, "y/n cmon you even know he fucked up" Matt says.

"He didn't and what's embarrassing is how u followed me out here instead of staying with your little girlfriend." You say pissed off.

"Your little girlfriend is stitching up gio over there so stop worrying about Chris and go fuck off Matt." Your words stinging like venom. Matt leaves and drives home.

"Chris would u like to stay over at our place?" You ask. "I would love to y/n" he says. Nicole just observing about to chime in but you give her a look, she knows he's staying over tonight.

Ever since daisho texted you all the memories came rushing back and you’ve been feeling sad confused and heartbroken even after all those years. It’s confusing why you still miss him. Maybe because he was the first one to give you the affection you craved so badly. You guys met on your third year of high school, you guys clicked instantly and always out 24/7. Shortly you guys fell in love with each other and started dating. The first fall out of your relationship was when you caught him texting another girl, you brushed it off you didn’t wanna be a jealous gf telling him to not text other girls. And you later found out he was cheating. You guys broke up and you fell into a depressive episode. You gived him 4 more chances because he said he “changed.” Obviously he never did and kept cheating every chance you gived him. Which resulted you falling into more depressive episodes.

Yachi sighs “yn c’mon you need to get over him! He obviously only talks to you because he has no one else”

Ouch. She’s harsh but she’s right. He only contacts you when he’s bored and you fall right into his trap. You stay silent, not knowing what to say.

ive finally decided. each slugcat that goes with each member of the chain

now i originally panicked thinking "oh fuck theres only 9 and inv would horribly mischaracterize whoever i threw them with because theyre basically just known as the dating sim one what do i do" (for context the dating sim is a feature added once you finish inv's campaign as a joke) but then i remembered the watchers existence so everything is great

oh yeah i threw the chart of them with each slugcat and the color i associate each one with at the bottom, and the slugcats themselves !! :)

Four is Monk because I just think it fits, a silly little guy, so why not?? (i secretly didnt know who would fit him and monk seemed like the best choice)

Hyrule is Survivor because Survivor is the sort of the mascot of Rainworlds AND everyone is based on their design, which is kinda what I see Hyrule as!!

Twilight is Hunter because Hunter's campaign is fairly hard,, atleast for a newgen ☹️ i got killed by like every monster and that reminded me how when i started playing twilight princess i gave up on the top of the castle because the birds kept killing me.

Wild is Gourmand because Gourmand can mix food and it gives him an extra food pip, which sorta relates to how Wild can cook food and its more hearts than the ingredients mixed in it are

Legend is Artificer because both are more closed off due to trauma of losing people they love </3 they could never make me hate you Artificer (shes been one of my favs since last year (i drew ship art of her and hunter to annoy my friend once as a joke even if the two characters NEVER MET and then i became an artificer fan LMAO))

Wind is Rivulet because.. well ive already yapped to you about this but Rivulet and Wind are kinda.. both already water related in their stories but also both care about the people they love!! Rivulet considers the character Looks to the Moon as their mom and their campaign is basically just helping her and Wind saves his sister in Wind Waker :3

Sky is Spearmaster because Spearmaster has a special ability of holding two spears, which i just think is cool and i was like "huh sky was kinda the one who helped forge the master sword (correct me if im wrong LMAO)" but also comes with a downside because.. Spearmaster cannot eat normally. they have to use the spikes they form from their tail to drain the nutrients out of creatures ☹️

Time is Saint for ACTUALLY THE PERFECT REASON???? basically once you reach karma 10 (im not 100% sure what karma even is but its earned through playing the game) you become a god and have the ability to kill everything with one hit (compared to before where you couldnt even pick up a spear) but when you ascend and end the campaign you end up in the same place as before, restarting the cycle.

Warriors is *checks notes.* thats? not a released character yet thats an upcoming DLC- who cares hes The Watcher/Nightcat because they technically arent canon outside of arena yet and haha thats like battling. hyrule warriors is battling mainly. see it matches it matches it fits its fits,,!! (ignore how their picture is their marketable plushie they have no canon illustration outside of arena icon yet)

ok im sick as hell and unfortunately also very bored so im gonna write down some silly naeishimondo scenarios ive been brainrotting for a while

Makoto being sick like me and staying home, meanwhile both taka and mondo barge into his house, bringing in homemade soup and tea (both of which makoto already got), and while they're being sad over the fact their favorite little guy wont be at the academy with them for the rest of the week, komaru steals the soup and tea cuz she woke up sick too (from makoto). An alt ending is them giving makoto a Liiiittle kiss on the forehead, both of them thinking they wont get sick, and waking up with 40°C temperature the next day

Them all going to mondo's house for a hangout-sleepover bcuz hes the only one of the three with a queen-sized bed (lil context, after mondo quit being a biker gang leader [in a universe where daiya is alive cuz fuck you] him and his brother move to a more. "calm" place, just the two of them. they still hangout w the other gang members though). they all watch movies and taka drops dead snoring the second the clock hits 10pm bcuz his brain cant handle staying up later for "no reason" (he has pulled all nighters when it comes to studying). mondo falls asleep second, and makoto just watches them sleep peacefully before snuggling between them and going to sleep too (imagine cringing over what ur writing help)

Going home in the snowy weather after shopping all evening (taka made them both come with him). theyre all holding equal amount of bags, until mondo grabs them all and speedruns to their house cuz hes FREEZING, and boy oh boy does he not like the cold at all. after that he sticks himself to the heater for like 10 minutes, while makoto and taka think to themselves that he looks like hes purring next to it (they both assigned him a catboy in their heads cuz it makes him 10 times cuter (also my version of him has a default >:3 face that all owada family members have (its more noticable on daiya but still))

Continuing the last one, theyre cooking together now!!! mondo kinda sucks at it, makoto is trying his best, and taka is this 🤏 close to chewing a brick over how they cut the vegetables (they look chunky (his autism can't stand it, meanwhile their autisms dont care/dont even notice it (no im not projecting not at all))). eventually they make a nice meal (of unknown kind cuz i can never think of foods LMFAO) and it turned out surprisingly good. yum!

Pet assigning. as i mentioned makoto n taka have assigned mondo a cat/catboy, but the same applies for the others. taka is a dog, obviously, but specifically a husky BECAUSE (im gonna be so annoying about this): Hes black and white, hes dramatic and loud like how huskies are, very loving (as every dog), and when his hair grows out more and mondo touches it, it reminds him of how fluffy huskies' fur is. makoto is a bunny, but i unfortunately dont know many bunny breeds so i will probably elaborate more once i look up and decide. hes just short/"small" and silly like one, and his ahoge going down when hes sad resembles bunny ears going down. (btw if ur curious mondo is either a tiger (still a cat!!!) or a persian cat. bcuz i cant help but imagine him as a chonky orange persian cat that on one occasion scratches your eyes, and on another cuddles on your shoulders. la creatura)

i think thats all for now! most of my other scenarios are even more generic, like going on dates (aquarium, cafe, cinema etc) so i dont have that much to write LOL.

˗ˏˋ+ ´ˎ˗ Where Katsuki and F/n talk about their relationship that they didn't want in the beginning.

To be fair, neither of them thought they would have gotten this far. Although they’ve been together for 10 years they only knew each other for two before they began to date. And by the time they were 21 they got married.

It was a sudden surprise for the both of them. Yeah, Katsuki proposed to F/n and she said yes, but it’s not like they wanted to.

Did they love each other? Sure, as friends not romantically.

They only dated because their friends pressured each other. Their friends couldn’t accept the fact that they loved each other as best friends, because a girl and a guy can’t be friends. Their friends would deny their feelings and confuse it as love.

It upset Katsuki and F/n. Their friends would start confusing them, making the pair think that they did love each other romantically. That’s why they began to date.

But over the years, something seemed different. They didn’t like when they would hug, hold hands, or kiss each other. It felt wrong. Like this wasn’t them, like they hated whenever they would be affectionate towards each other like couples would do.

They figure that it was just nervousness, but if so, how come their hearts would beat for other people that they liked? Everything felt so wrong.

Even Katsuki’s parents felt like them getting married was wrong. His parents watched as F/n walked down the aisle with a distant look and Katsuki with the same look. At first, they thought it was because her parents hadn’t shown up knowing that she and her parents don't get along.

But deep down, his parents could tell they didn’t love each other.

Now, as F/n walked into her’s and Katsuki’s shared bathroom, she sighed as she closed the door and stared at the mirror. She was still dressed in her hero suit, dirt marks and scratches covered her face and suit.

She stared at herself, thinking, how did I let things go so far?

On the other side of the door, Katsuki began to undress from his suit into something more comfortable, waiting for F/n to get out knowing that she takes her time in there. In the living room, he waited and waited and waited.

He also pondered, like a lot about his and her relationship. Where did things go so wrong? Why couldn’t he just keep his mouth shut and not ask her out and marry her?

It wasn’t until he had received a notification on his phone that made him come back to reality. He noticed that 20 minutes had gone by and F/n was still in the bathroom.

He roughly sighed and knocked on her door and knocked again when he didn’t receive an answer, “...Are you okay?”

“Yeah,” F/n said and let out a sigh, “I…i’m just finishing up in here.”

Katsuki didn’t say anything and stood outside the door waiting for her to come out. When she did, she raised her eyebrows at him, “What?”

He crossed his arms, “What’s wrong with you?”

She rolled her eyes and walked into their bedroom, “Why is it that everytime you think somethings wrong with me you alway ask that question?”

Katsuki scoffed and followed her into the bedroom, “Maybe because there is something fucking wrong with you? You always look like you don’t want to be here! It gets so fucking annoying when you mope and have a sad fucking face!”

F/m scoffed as well and glared at him, “You act like I'm the only one that does that! You don’t think I get tired watching your fucking face everytime I get home or when I spend time with you!? If you have something to say then say it!”

“Fuck you.” Katsuki bitterly said as he felt a bit attacked and hurt from her words. How could she say that when they used to be best friends? He pointed at her, “At least I try to make the better of this! At least I stuck around!”

Her face fell at the mention of her parents abandoning her. She gave him the nastiest looks as ripped her wedding off, “Fuck you! I never wanted this! I never wanted this fucking life and get married!”

The blonde felt a weight lifting off his shoulders, like a relief washing over him. He stared at her, “Are you serious…?”

“Yes!” F/n yelled out as she nodded, “I had my whole life planned! I just want to be a hero and not waste my whole life being married and loving someone I don’t!”

She let out a sigh and gripped her face as she sat on the bed, “I miss what we had before. Before dating.”

With his eyes widening, Katsuki smiled, “I feel the same way.”

F/n lifted her head and stared at the blonde confused, “What? Th-then why did you ask me to marry you?”

Katsuki shrugged and sat down next to her, “I felt like I had to. I felt like maybe marriage would fix our shitty relationship.”

F/n let out a low sigh, “I wish you had something sooner. Like way sooner.”

“You could have to.” Katsuki glared at her.

This time, she shrugged and glanced at her hands, “In a way, I felt like I owed it to you. I mean, I didn’t think we’d make it so far. I thought…that if I married you and had kids then my mom and my family would talk to me again.”

Katsuki let out a sigh, “I had a feeling. But I didn’t say anything ‘cause I thought you’d get your feelings all hurt and shit.”

He then stared at her, “I’m glad you said something before we did something stupid.”

Snorting, F/n looked at him with a smile, “It’s a good thing we didn’t have kids.”

Katsuki playfully rolled his eyes at her, “So…can we start over? Friends?”

Smiling, F/n nodded, “Friends.”

Hi Anon! Sorry for the late reply, I literally went to bed a few minutes after reblogging that ask game post! 😬

Phew every number for Yoru? Okay, this might be a challenge and a lot, so I hope I won't hit the character limit. :D

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

Well, I like Yoru because we basically witnessed her growing up and evolving into the person she is today — with all the ups and downs. Besides the obvious that since SPPF is so dear to me, so is Yoru. I "dislike" a few things about her, too - she is not without fault (perfect characters are boring imo). Though understandable from her POV, I dislike that she's self-deprecating and tends to blame stuff on herself. She needs to realizes a few things along the road, I suppose :)

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Her love for her family, friends, and the cats. Also, she can be snippy and funny at times :)

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

See question 1 :D Also, I don't like that she sees her scars as something ugly. Understandable, since it's more about what they represent for her, but: Yoru, honey? Once Eri comes around, you better check your outlook on scars, or you're gonna screw Eri up with your mindset. Please don't do that.

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

Oh, I would love to do crossovers to other shows. Like, there could be a freak quirk accident or something. I would like to see her in AOT (more trauma, yay!), Saiki K would be fun, too. JJK would be too big of a project (not that the others are realistic for me to do). Other than that, it would be hilarious to have some MHA characters get isekai-ed into our "real" reality. Harry Potter would kind of be fun, too.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Well, the ringtone Shota has set for her, but you guys don't know the song yet (though it's secretly hidden in the prequel🤫) but other than that it's hard to decide - I've got multiple spotify playlists for SPPF, but I think a song that fits Yoru well is The Killing Kind by Marianas Trench. She feels haunted by her past, especially what happened to her parents. It might also make a bit more sense in the future.

The first song to pop into my head would be her lullaby or the song Mine is writing for Yoru: Dark Night (When Dark Means Light)

Other songs fit her incredibly well, too, but I think they would spoiler a lot. :)

6. What's something you have in common with this character?

I think I subconsciously put a little bit of me in a few characters, really. One thing I have in common with Yoru, physically, are scars. We're also both in therapy lmao BUT I think we're both funny

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

Well, "fandom" in this context, I would say are the SPPF readers :D I love, love, LOVE when people make fanart for Yoru!

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Literally nothing :D I love them all.

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

oh, for sure :D I think we'd vibe and play video games together often. Though, I think she's normally a very neat and tidy person (it's how she was brought up) and I'm not super tidy, so she might be annoyed with me :'(

I'd hope so :D

considering she's a teenager, and I am an adult: nope :D But, if I were around her age, sure. I would be scared of her Dad, though lmao

Literally most of the head canons are already in SPPF. One thing that's happening off-screen, though is that Shota and Yoru use the same shampoo. No idea what you're all supposed to do with this information, though hahah

Mhm possible best friends besides the obvious and previously mentioned ones? I think she and Jiro would get along well :) Tokoyami, too - but Yoru is sort of distancing herself from him after the sports festival. She's too afraid to rope him and Dark Shadow into her bullshit.

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

To answer the first question: everything. Second question: since it's from her POV, it can often be unreliable. Stuff she sees as a fact, might not be the case at all. It's human nature, though.

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?

No idea how to answer this one :D

They're more alike than they know, and they don't like it when the other behaves/thinks the way they do (for example: blame themselves for just about everything)

From another fandom? She has the abandonment issues and dead parents in common with Toru Honda. Seems they're both into tsunderes, too :D

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

First impression: She's a survivor.

Funny: Yoru and Toshi kissing and the whole "The Talk" situation with her Dad that followed after

Bad: What she said to Shota after the practical exam. That hurt Shota A LOT.

Good: Her birthday gift for Toshi

Serious: Almost (unknowingly and accidentally) killing fucking All Might lmao
