regardless of a boosted immune system, an increased recovery time, and the convenience of being indestructible, even superheroes get sick from time to time. unfortunately, you're stubborn and would much rather aid your boyfriend and his family with the day's super-tasks than rest up.

Billy Batson had been in the middle of stuffing your pillow with a freshly frozen icepack before both of your attentions had been pulled towards your TV, watching in alarm as some beastly creature continued to mutilate downtown Philadelphia. You couldn't quite make out its features, nor what it was exactly the reporter was saying, her newscaster-like tone and the picture on the screen all just a blur to you.
Too ill feeling to put some clarity on it, all you knew was that it was certainly dangerous and was definitely a call for superhero duty. Mildly delirious or not.
"Let me come with you...!" You boasted rather confidently for someone with flem still stuck in your nose, throat, and chest, and your head pounding so hard you regretted the act of shooting up in bed.
"Absolutely not." Billy rejected your demand immediately, turning back just to shake his head at you while you attempted at more protests.
"*cough* - But I can- I could help-"
Your voice strained terribly while more coughs interrupted, proving Billy's unspoken point more than enough. And even then, he'd still use the perfect timing of your sickly hacks to double down on it.
"And that's exactly why you're not coming. You need to rest so you can get better."
"Oh my god, it's just a cough. I'll be okay, I can do this."
Again, you were shot another shake of the head, along with a deadpanned look of disbelief as he made his way closer in order to stop you from pushing your blankets and sheets away.
"You can barely get up fast without feeling dizzy, but you think you can stop that?"
He pointed back at the TV, the monster actively knocking into buildings and wreaking havoc amongst crowds of running citizens.
You nodded as though you were an eager puppy, wide eyes staring back into his along with a lazy smile as if to fake like you were all better.
Unfortunately for you, Billy wasn't buying it.
"Yeah, no, lay down..."
"But-"
"And with luck, we'll have it all handled before dinner. I'll come back to check on you, 'kay?"
He hardly acknowledged your pleas, informing you that with help from his siblings, things would go smoothly. Without you.
Pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead before replacing it with a cool, damp rag, you tried a final attempt at convincing him to let you come along, fight the good fight rather than wallow in bad health.
"Billy..."
The simple call of his name and a pouty look during his urge into laying you down.
Pushing at your shoulders, he succeeded, smiling above you while you gave in to the warmth of your bed once more. He tucked you in and then backed away towards your window, opening it with the intention to jump while you watched, fighting sleep.
"I love you, (Y/N). Rest. Please."
With a pained sigh, both of disappointment and from the literal ache of your body, you did as told and heeded his words.
"Fine. I love you, too."
He smiled, and then, he was gone. A crack of thunder after a loud, "Shazam!!" the last thing you heard before forcing yourself not to worry any longer.
You'd trust your boyfriend and his siblings. Like he said, they'd surely have everything done and cleaned up by the time you finished your nap. No need for your appearance, taking some much needed recovery from the cold that ravaged your normal body.
───────── 《 .°•♡•°. 》 ──────────
"Look, ma'am, that's real sweet of you, but I-... You should really get outta' here!"
"But if I could just have you answer a few more questions, I mean...! I'm sure the public would love to know!"
"Who are you, Lois Lane? You've gotta be the most persistent reporter ever, lady...!"
It was the muffled shouts of adults that brought you back from your sleep some thirty minutes later. If you could even call it that. It was more like a delirious limbo, a point between consciousness and dreamland, all while a fever brewed and festered regardless of the now warm rag that coated over your forehead.
Hell, your pajamas could easily pass as the small towel on your head, drenched in your sweat while you groaned and pushed yourself up weakly. Your body continued to ache, nose stuffy and running at the same time, and god, did you want nothing more than to drink a gallon of water to soothe your sore throat.
Instead, you forced your eyes to open, squinting at the TV in hopes of gauging the situation that Billy assured you would be solved by now.
"bAcK tO cHecK oN y0u bEfOre dInNeR!" He had said, or something like that, which left you rolling your eyes now in the present. Half an hour later, he and his siblings were still struggling to clear out civilians from the scene! Had they even begun to tackle the beast that still roamed free on top of your beloved city? You figured not, considering you could quite literally feel the ground shaking due to its thunderous steps and loud roars.
You had to go. You couldn't not. It's very obvious they needed your help, at least with crowd control or as distraction, something! Whatever you could do to help, to save lives, you'd be more than happy to do it. Even while sick, even if it meant giving up some of your resting time to help those in need. It was what being a superhero was all about, wasn't it?
All of this power... there was no way you could just sit here and do nothing with it! Besides, it's not like anyone would really even notice that you were sick. Sure, you did get dizzy when you rose from the bed, standing on your own two feet. And yeah, your head pounded, and your nose caused your voice to dawn a nasal tone. But you could still fight, couldn't you?
You had to, with only one way to find out...
You went to your bathroom, scanning your medicine cabinet for the bottle of Cold & Flu medicine, and recklessly drank a few swallows straight from the bottle. You did so in hopes it'd hold you over for the next couple of hours, at the very least, curing your symptoms just enough to where your sickness wouldn't affect your performance.
With haste, you were back in your room, preparing yourself for the transformation from your regular self to your super-self, all with the use of the simple, magic word...
"Sha-...ahchoo...!"
Okay, that was gross.
Wiping your nose from the snot and clearing your throat with several "ahem"s and rough coughs, you tried again, moving yourself towards your window just as Billy had and checking to make sure there were no bystanders or any members of your family around to see you.
"Shazam!!"
───────── 《 .°•♡•°. 》 ──────────
"What about the monster?!" Darla shouted amongst the sea of endless screaming people and loud roars of the beast ahead, floating towards her brothers nearby with a look of concern dawning her adult features.
Billy's face mimicked hers, looking up at the beast and then back towards helpless people running in fear in all sorts of scattered directions. It was confusing, to say the least, but he'd do his best to make up for it as long as no one got injured on his watch.
"Uhh... I think we should keep clearing out people! They'll get hurt if we don't protect them!"
"But-!" Eugene started, though Billy clearly wasn't having it. One could even say the stress had gotten to him, this event definitely taking longer than anticipated with more public property being destroyed by the minute. Which meant longer clean-up duty. Which meant late dinner, which meant no time to check up on you, and-
"We'll get there when we get there!" Was his final (and pretty lax) answer, only for Freddy to swoop down and point out the next impending tragedy.
"Well, if we're gonna get there, we should get there now because it's gonna destroy the town hall!"
And it was true, the grotesque being merrily on its way towards arguably one of the most important landscapes in the city. Of course the townhall, of all buildings ever...
"Gee, thanks, Captain Obvious...!" Billy huffed, Freddy merely giving a two-finger salute in order to further solidify his frivolous behavior.
"You're welcome, Captain You-Obviously-Don't-Know-What-You're- Doing...!"
Pedro was next to return to the scene, his face twisted in oncoming question as his eyes shifted between the monster, the building, and back again.
"I mean... Do we really need the town hall? 'Cause it's super white and boring-"
"Pedro...!"
"I- What?!"
And finally, Mary. The wisest of the siblings, surely, and growing increasingly harrowed by the current events and the fact that her brothers and sister were not aiding in the fight whatsoever.
"Yes, we do need the town hall, and us standing around talking about it is not helping anything...!"
"What're we thinking?" Freddy murmured, having leaned over to Billy in hopes of their older sister not being able to hear them.
"Captain Bossy."
"Definitely."
A sudden battle cry caused their heads to snap up away from the monster and towards an incoming ball of lightning and fury. Your eyes glowed the same color as your supersuit, fist cocked back with the intention to slam every last bit of force and power you've accumulated onto your enemy. With a loud, cracking sound, it was safe to assume your hit had connected, your entire body colliding with the beast with so much force that the both of you went toppling over onto-
Oh...
"See? Told you we didn't need it." Pedro smiled and nodded, admiring your bravery and the fact you had managed to subdue the monster with one nearly fatal blow.
Mary, though unamused, marveled at the scene just the same before Billy gave a harsh sigh and a shake of the head.
"I told her to stay in bed..."
───────── 《 .°•♡•°. 》 ──────────
A mere moment had passed where you were in and out of consciousness (for the second time today, might I add), the only thing filling your vision being clouds upon clouds of smoke? Steam? Whichever the case, it caused an eerie, foggy atmosphere that didn't really seem to help your already mildly delirious state. Although, you had to admit, you were quite proud of yourself for taking down the threat in one go, having been pretty unsure of the amount of damage you'd be able to deal in your current state.
You slowly brought yourself to your feet, trying your best to squint through the "fog" in order to make out your whereabouts until you had looked down, taking notice of the weirdly textured road you stood on. It was a deep, deep maroon color. Rough and scaly, almost like a raisin and... moving?
You could've sworn that it - whatever you were standing on - was rising and sinking just the slightest. But, then again, you couldn't exactly trust your vision right now, the effects of your medicine kicking in with a weird, head-spinning affect that caused you to almost miss the loud shout of your name.
"(Y/N)!!" Billy called into the clearing mist, hands cupped over his mouth and very grateful in the moment that his adult voice was loud and deep. He was sure his calls could be heard from miles away, let alone a few feet, his worry growing when he still didn't receive a response despite that fact.
"Baby, where are you...?!"
A smile creeped onto your face at the pet name, turning and looking towards the sound of his voice. It was when the golden glow of his lightning emblem came into view that you allowed excitement to swell in your chest, calling back out to him with a squeal laced in your raspy voice.
"I'm down here, I'm okay! Did you see what I did?! I literally took it out with one punch!"
When Billy was finally able to catch sight of you, another breath of relief left his throat, hurrying towards your wobbly figure and steadying you once he felt your grip on his biceps.
"Yes, I saw, and I'm concerned because I thought I told you to stay in bed."
"Aww, c'mon, dude...!" You practically whined. "I'm totally fine, I literally feel fine! Plus, it was obvious you needed my help, so-"
"We had it handled, (Y/N)."
"Oh, is that why I-..." Harsh coughs cut into whatever attitude you were about to dunk on your boyfriend, stepping away to cover your mouth as he nodded knowingly.
"It doesn't matter when you're still sick and should be resting."
"It's *cough* fine, I'm *cough-cough* I'm fine."
He didn't have time to offer up more lectures with his deadpanned look, his siblings swift to join you two with gracious smiles of their own at your appearance and quick take down.
"That was sick, you know how sick that was?! If I could do an instant replay, I would because that was awesome!" Freddy gushed, blowing your ego higher than need be as Pedro offered up a fist bump. You returned it eagerly, only to pout again when Billy didn't hesitate to inform them all of your unfortunate status.
"You wanna know what else is sick? Her. She is. She's sick and really should not be here-"
"-But I am, and I did my part, and now everything's fine and you're just mad 'cause you're a hater...!" You huffed, being exaggerative with your arms and hands that caused Billy to give you a weird look.
"What are you, drunk?"
You took offense to the half-joking question, unsure as to why he'd ask such a thing when you felt perfectly fine and dandy. Like, cloud nine, hazy eyes, and the weird urge to run a marathon yet so, so sleepy at the same time.
"Am I drunk or am I sick, Batson, which is it?"
A pause, attitude dwindling.
"'Cause...'cause I dunno', either..."
He pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head once more in what could only be a mixture of dissatisfaction and worry.
"You took too much medicine before you got here, didn't you..."
Barely even a question, the obvious answer being yes, you could only scoff and toss your head to the side.
"No, just half the bottle..."
"That's way too much." Mary commented, nodding her head solemnly.
Before anyone could continue the odd conversation, the ground they stood on began to rise and fall a lot heavier than before.
"I knew it!" You shouted alarmingly loud, startling the siblings as they struggled to keep balance on the surface that was now beginning to rumble.
"Knew what?!" Freddy exclaimed. "What do you know?!"
"I thought I was hallucinating, but I'm not! We're not on the ground!" You informed, the shaking growing more violent by the second.
"What?!"
"(Y/N), please explain...!" Mary further urged, and before you could, a coughing fit stopped you from doing so and left everyone else in the dark, Billy trying his best to come to your side for comfort only for everyone to lose their balance the higher the "ground" rose.
Without second thought, Eugene flew upwards to get a better look at the entire scene, the rest of you quickly following in suit until you were all high enough in the sky to see that the monster was not yet finished with its rampage.
"(Y/N), hit it with another falcon punch!!" Freddy urged, Billy already shaking his head while giving an answer before you could.
"No, no, do not do that, she doesn't even feel well enough to be flying, look at her...!"
And it was true, your flying abilities suffering majorly from lack of health and increase of the medicine taking full affect making you drowsy and unfocused. You struggled to stay steady in the air, using Billy's arm as a crutch in case you were to suddenly drop from the sky. Hell, even the lightning emblem on your chest was dimming in and out as if you were literally on the verge from powering down while you spoke nasaly.
"He's...he's right, I feel- I'm pretty sure all of my power went into that one attack."
Freddy, dramatically, tossed his arms up into the air before dropping them at his sides.
"Oh, great, so we're screwed."
Protests from his siblings swiftly followed, all of them coming forth at the same time that left Freddy lifting his open palms up into the air in surrender.
"Oh, real nice, bro..." - "We're right here, y'know." - "Don't say that, we can do this...!" - "Okay, (Y/N)'s not the only one who can throw a punch, man!" - "Maybe if we spent less time talking and letting the sick girl do all of the work..."
"Sorry-sorry, my bad, I didn't realize you guys were so sensitive about this...!"
Fortunately, amongst the chaos of their words and the beast slowly rising from the ruins of Philadelphia's town hall for round two, your brain managed to fumble through half of a thought. An idea that could possibly work if executed correctly. A real plan, something that would help, which is what you came here to do, after all.
And sure, maybe you were too weak to carry it out alone, but the entire reason Billy had shared his power with you in the first place was because he trusted you. The same goes for all of his siblings. Because all of you together made a great team.
Besides, a half-assed plan was better than none at all.
So, without further ado...
"What-...What if y'all just... what if we stayed on the monster and then we just used our hands and then...boom. Right?"
You gained looks of concern and confusion at your nonsensical murmurs, the group making it known that whatever had just left your lips made zero sense to them even though you had been pretty confident in the fact that you came across perfectly clear.
Freddy was the first to prove otherwise, though, a barely audible, "...what?" leaving his throat as Billy gave you a look of sympathy and care.
"You're delirious, babe..."
"No, stop, I'm being serious...!" You croaked while pushing him away, which in hindsight, wasn't in your best interest when you were doing good just to stay afloat as well as dealing with an oncoming migrane. You fought to ignore that as well.
"Sounds like someone needs a nap." Eugene quipped, leaving Freddy and Darla to snicker to themselves while you gave what should've been a scoff, but what ended up coming out was more of a weak cough.
"Shut up, Eugene, I'm-!" Taking a second to gather your words, you tried again, doing your best to convey your plan once more.
"We all have lightning powers, don't we? We could land on the monster... and-and boom! Y'know?"
With the movements of your hands and fingers, you nodded as if to confirm that they understood this time around. Unfortunately, no one seemed to catch on, Mary the only one staring ahead rather than at you in confusion until something in her brain seemed to click, and she was suddenly coming towards you with a smile.
"Wait... Wait, I think I understand!"
"You do?!" You jinxed with your boyfriend, your words laced with a tone of relief and excitement while Billy's held more of a shock and surprise.
Mary nodded briskly, taking your hands in hers upon delivering her praise.
"Yes, (Y/N), you're a genius, oh my gosh! Why didn't I think of that?!"
With the two of you giving relieved laughs in understanding of one another, Darla was the first the point out the obvious for the rest of the group, leaving room for Mary to explain your plan much better than you had twice before.
"Am I the only one really confused right now?"
"Guys, we have to electrocute the monster, that's the only way it's going down. And I think, what (Y/N) means is, if we all use our powers together as much as we can like she did when she knocked it out, we'll generate enough electricity to do so."
"Yes!!" You confirmed with a mix of exasperation and relief in your hoarse voice, leaning your head against Billy's shoulder as if just the act of talking about your plan tired you out.
It made you wonder if you'd be strong enough to participate in executing, the feeling of letting down those around you much worse than any monster attacking the city or illness attacking your body.
Billy could sense this, raising and dropping the shoulder your head rested upon to grab your attention before delivering playful encouragement.
"Huh. Remind me never to doubt your sick-brain."
Sniffling, you nodded, appreciating his efforts and gaining back some of that lost confidence.
"Damn right."
It wasn't long before your plan had been put into action, one sibling distracting the monster long enough for another to land on it unsuspectingly until, one by one, all of you had your hands firmly planted on a part of its body. Counting down the seconds, you guys generated any and all electricity your bodies had stored into your hands and finally, found yourselves practically frying the beast to ash.
For the last time today, it fell. And thankfully, not on top of any more buildings. You were happy to witness it all, let alone be a part of it, nodding as if to pat yourself on the back for doing good. You certainly deserved it, you felt, seeing as all of your power went drained, and you were even too sick to stand. You convinced yourself to sit, leaning up against a large wall of rubble in attempts to recuperate.
"Just need to catch my breath..." You reasoned with yourself as though your eyes weren't half a blink away from fully closing.
"Need a second..." You coughed, head spinning with the urge to succumb to the cold that left even super-you ill-advantaged.
. . .
"(Y/N)...!!" Mary called into the debris, only having run into her own siblings rather than you. This worried her, especially once it had been revealed that you were fighting while sick. It also made her wonder why such mystical and magical abilities couldn't cancel out such a common flu or virus. She'd definitely be found reading up on the matter later, that's for sure...
But, until then, the search continued, Billy joining his older sister's side with a familiar concern he always harbored for you.
"(N/N)...!! Where you at, babe?!"
"You don't think she got crushed, do you?"
Mary rolled her eyes before lightly slapping the arm of her other brother, Freddy never one to learn to keep his badly timed jokes to himself.
"Don't say that, we're already worried enough...!"
"Agh-! I didn't mean it...!"
"There she is...!" Darla cheered, pointing up ahead to where you had peacefully laid yourself to rest.
Okay, that sounded a little morbid, but it's meant in the literal sense, not to worry.
Although it's not like they could tell the same, the view to them more of an alarming take on what should've been a more joyous reunion.
With super-speed Billy had almost forgotten he possessed, he was by your side in an instant, crouching down and allowing a giant wave of relief to wash over him when he was granted a clear look of your rising and falling chest. You were still breathing (thank god), and pretty heavily, he noticed, his gaze trailing upwards to inspect your face for any marks or bruises.
He found none, only the beads of sweat on your forehead and your eyes sunken in while you lightly snored, unable to breathe through your nose even in slumber.
"She's okay..." He had spoken to himself at first, a final act of reassurance he hadn't realized he needed before pulling himself together and turning back to shout.
"She's okay...!!"
Naturally, this woke you, your eyes fluttering open and a smile gracing your features at the sound of his voice.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." You apologized, fighting back a yawn as you placed a cold hand into Billy's warm one. "I was just...sleepin'. Tired."
"That's what you get for pushing yourself." He half-joked, granting you a smile of his own that brought some heat back to your cheeks.
"You should've stayed home." He reiterated for what seemed like the millionth time this late afternoon.
"Sorry. Just really needed to help you guys..."
"You did. By a lot." He admitted, gently urging you to your feet. "You did good, really."
You laughed weakly, thankfully using Billy for support as the rest of the siblings approached, glad you were okay, up, and even trying to walk.
"That's all I wanted."
"Say the word." Billy coaxed, and for once, you heeded his advice and muttered it with the hopes that you'd suddenly return home. Safe, sound, and in your warm, cozy bed.
Alas, that was wishful thinking. Instead, you were transformed back to your regular self, gently held in Billy's adult arms with the warmth exuding from his lightning emblem lulling you back to sleep much faster than expelling large quantities of magical power ever could.
"I'm taking her home." He announced, sure of himself this time around before swiftly adding, "And she's gonna stay there...!"
As if you could actually hear him and his directive attitude, he looked down at your figure cuddled against him before going on.
"And hopefully, she'll be better soon enough for people to thank her."
───────── 《 .°•♡•°. 》 ──────────
"Hey, I think my sinuses are finally staring to clear up...!" You sniffled, basking in the glory that was a full, clear breath of air. Oh, how you missed air. How you missed breathing without issue, and-
"ah-cHOO!!"
"Bless you."
And... back to square one.
"Thanks..."
Normally, you'd apologize for spreading your germs, possibly passing on your sickness to your boyfriend. But, right now, cuddled up against him and finding solace in his care was all you concerned yourself with, having already thanked him a million times as he let the news channel run on your TV.
You got lucky, able to see that your selfless acts hadn't been in vain and that it really was for the best that you had gone out and helped when you felt needed.
"Feeling better?" Billy inquired, placing quick chaste kisses along your temple and forehead upon seeing the tiny smile that graced your features. You nodded against him; though not in regards to your sickness, you certainly did feel better about yourself, drifting off to sleeping knowing your city was safe and to the sound of your boyfriend's heartbeat.

Hi! I saw that you write for Jon, Damian and Billy and decided to take this opportunity to request an imagine-
So basically Reader is wonder woman's daughter and her, Jon and Damian are best friends and form some kind of "Mini Trinity". The boys notice she's been busier a lot more lately and find out its because she's dating someone which is where Billy comes in. This part might be a bit ooc so feel free to ignore it! Damian and Jon ask to meet Billy and Damian is putting on his best "Hurt her and I'll go after you" attitude on while Jon is more on the nicer side but still a bit protective. tysm in advance 💞
OMGOMG I love this idea sm you don't even know!! I already know writing this is gonna be fun for me >:D
Spoiler Alert: This was very fun writing for me😼.

Prompt: You should've known you wouldn't have been able to hide it for as long as you wanted. You were lucky you had gotten away with it for this long. Of course, it's not that you didn't want to tell your best friends that you had a significant other. It was... just a lot harder when those friends were overprotective guys, and also literally the sons of Superman and Batman. But like, especially Batman...

"Valkyrie."
"Great Hera...!" You gasped at the montoned demand of your superhero name, jumping and whipping around faster than you could put away your glasses. But upon realizing it was only the infamous Boy Wonder, you relaxed. Letting out a huff and bringing the crucial part of your disguise back into view, you wanted nothing more than to land a blow worthy of launching him across the street onto his chest, but didn't, seeing as you had scoldings to deliver and your questions answered immediately first.
"I've told you time and time again not to do that, Damian! You wander this earth like a ghost, and I scare too easy for you to just...appear behind me like that!"
"I'm surprised you were alarmed at all. I would have assumed you'd known that I was with you the whole time."
Your eyes narrowed, and you pointed an accusing finger. "With me..." You mocked. "You mean you were following me."
"There would be no need for me to do such a thing if you weren't vanishing so often."
Your (E/C) eyes rolled, never once leaving the side of the alley wall. You ignored his words, arms crossing over your chest before your head lolled upwards towards the sky.
"I suppose Jon is here as well."
No response, not that you needed one at this point considering the circumstances.
"Listening in right now." You added matter of factly. "You can come down now, I know you're at least a mile away."
As if on cue, a loud booming sound went thundering overhead, like a canon being let off until Superboy himself came landing right in between the two of you. The gravel shook and cracked at his entrance, completely opposite to his awkward and smiley demeanor the moment his blue eyes focused on your pursed lips and knowing glare.
"...Hi."
"Hello, Jon." You greeted flatly before addressing the both of them. "What are you two doing here? Why are you following me?"
"There needn't be any reason for us to do so if you weren't sneaking around. The question now becomes: What are you hiding?"
"Nothing!" You hissed, trying your hardest to ignore the guilt panging in your chest at his words. "I'm not hiding anything, there's nothing to hide. I'm just-"
"-Avoiding us?"
Another tug at your heartstrings, the gleaming look in Jon's eyes hoping that what he had suggested wasn't truth. It surprised you that the boy would even think such a thing, you quickly expressing this with a swift shake of the head and more excuses.
"What? No! No, no, I'm not...avoiding you. Either of you. I'd never do that. You're two of my closest friends ever, I'm just-"
"-So you're hiding something."
"Damian...!" You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose at his second of the same accusation. And yet, you had no words to truly defend yourself. Hell, you couldn't even deny it! You weren't hiding something. You were hiding someone. But, just as quickly as you realized this, you had also come to the conclusion that they didn't have to know that. Your little secret could still remain just that. A secret.
"Yes, yes, I am. . . hiding something."
"Like what?" Jon pushed, already hovering circles around you in optimism. "Like a surprise type of something?!"
"Don't be naive, Jonathan. If that were the case, I would've found out sooner, and I'd know what it is already."
You giggled at their difference in personality, throwing out a quip of your own in hopes to de-escalate the situation.
"Well, know-it-all, it's good thing it's not a surprise something."
"Don't act as though you're off the hook." He responded curtly. "We're still standing in a desolate alleyway in the heart of Metropolis with no reason as to why, other than you're hiding..."
Flicking his wrist in your direction, he prompted a response from you that you were struggling to come up with. Their expecting gaze wasn't helping, and it left you to awkwardly fiddle with the arms of your glasses until you meekly let out a pathetic, "...Something."
"Something like what, though?" Jon egged further, to which Damian shook his head in dismay.
"More like who. 'Two of my closest best friends'?" He quoted words you hadn't even remembered you said, throwing more of his deductions into your face like this was a game of Clue. And goodness knows, at this rate, he was going to win.
"Two out of who, (Y/N)? Not to highlight your lack of social skills, but the only person you have to consider a friend would be Jon."
Jon coughed, rather harshly, in Damian's direction before he sighed and quickly grumbled, "And I as well, I suppose."
"Uh, rude." Was your only comment at first. Though you were not yet ready to admit defeat, a sigh escaped your lips and you came forward with the most honest demeanor you could throw on, looking into the green eyes of Damian behind his mask and then the blue ones of Jon.
"Look, you two are my best friends in this entire realm, okay? Nothing will ever change that, and I swear, there isn't anyone else."
There was a looming silence, and though Jon was satisfied with your expression of care by showing you another smile, Damian had decided on the more...intense route.
"Do you put that on your mother's life?"
"Dude..." Jon sighed. "C'mon..."
And before you could answer, the sound of metal clanking together immediately threw the trio of you into defense. Jon's eyes glowed a neon red while the 'slinth' sound of a katana being ripped from its case was heard, Damian aiming the pointed end towards the loud noise. And before you could even begin to put your mother's Lasso of Truth to good use, your face went deadpanned and you wanted nothing more than to slap the culprit who was struggling to put the two trashcans back in their places.
"Besides him..." You added to your last set of words, lowering your guard and urging the other two boys to do the same.
"Stand down, it's just..."
"Oh! Oh, (Y/N)! I did not at all see you there; Why aren't you in your disguise, wh-? ... Uh..." The man in glowing red and gold slowed both his actions and his words, his excited face shifting into one of confusion at your unexpected company.
"So, is this what you were unwilling to disclose?" Damian further pressed. "If a partnership outside of us was something you were searching for, I'm sure there were more...suitable... members of the league for you to choose from. Better yet, I can make a phone call, and you'd be allowed to choose."
With your heartbeat increasing at the predicament you had so recklessly caught yourself in, you wanted nothing more than to crawl into a pit and wither away. But, you had to keep level-headed. If you didn't, things would go very wrong in a matter of seconds. You didn't want that for your best friends, or...
"I'm sure you could, Robin, but I chose him. He's perfectly suitable for me, and shouldn't that be all that matters?"
He cocked a brow, further testing both your patience and your judgment while Jon was simply happy to learn that you've made a new friend.
"When did you guys meet?" He began to hover circles around the man dressed in lightning themed Greek wear. "I don't even think I've seen him around Metropolis before."
"I-...Well, yeah," he went to answer for himself. "That's 'cause all the cool stuff happens right here in Philly. You know... wizards...and dragons and such."
"You fought a dragon?!"
"Yeah, I've fought a dragon!" The super exclaimed enthusiastically. "It was made out of wood and spewed blue fire. It was awesome!"
Both you and Damian gave an eyeroll, his of unamusment while you were quick to state one less cool fact about the whole ordeal.
"And then it killed you."
"Wha-?!" He stopped himself, looking towards you before pointing a finger. "Yeah, but then I got resurrected! So it's all good, everything's good."
"Yeah, by my mother!" You added sternly. "Billy, I know you did what you had to that day, but you seriously need to learn to think things through, because I don't plan on having to resurrect you myself anytime soon."
"Yeah, well- I..." He stopped himself from replying to you, suddenly becoming aware of how casually you dropped his real name and how he wasn't supposed to respond to it. And before he could do anything to correct you, Damian had gone back to his analysis on the situation.
"And that's your reasoning for working with him? Because your mother has forced you into cooperation based upon the fact that she...resurrected him?"
"Well, no, not exactly." You attempted to clear up. "It was more of a meet-cute, and-"
"-Dude, do you even watch the news?" Jon interuppted your words, his smile growing bigger with each passing moment until he himself finally realized who this man was.
"He's one of the new superheroes here! He literally saved the world. Twice."
There was a pause in the air, Damian clearly having not paid any mind to the news (at least, not anything relating to whatever was happening in Philadelphia) and was still unimpressed by just the information being told.
Jon went on, this time in hopes to make it all sound just a little more appealing.
"It's not just him. Like I said, he's in a group. The...Philadelphia Fiascos, something like that."
You couldn't help but try and force back a giggle, knowing just how much the title irked the man standing in front of you as he threw and then dropped his arms against his sides.
"No, that is not our name. It's actually one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. It's definitely not my name. My name is Shazam."
And just like that, with a flash of lightning and a bolt of thunder, "Shazam" was now back to the original name you had given earlier.
"Oh shit-...." He cursed, but you struck an arm out before he could run off or say the word to change back.
"Don't bother." You sighed, taking in the surprised look on Jon's face and the expecting one on Damian's (because lord knows hardly anything surprises him at this point).
"This was all inevitable, I might as well get this over with..."
You inhaled, preparing your words of explanation to the three boys you admired most.
"I know I told you guys that you two are my best friends. You guys have been there for me through my worst and my best, and I'm forever grateful for that. My mother told me it was best that I made new friends. And I did. But... she didn't say anything about not having a boyfriend..."
Jon's eyes nearly widened out of his sockets at your words, Damian's stoic demeanor dropping for a mere split second before he slapped it right back on, hoping you hadn't noticed. But, you did, the shift in his aura already making you more nervous than you already were to introduce your boyfriend.
"You guys... this is Billy Batson."
There was a deafening silence, the four of you staring at one another as if someone was supposed to speak up first. And naturally, this troubled you, but you couldn't help but feel such a strong batch of weight fall from your shoulders.
Relief clouded over you unexpectedly and maybe even too soon, Billy leaning over to you with a hushed tone and a worried glance.
"Are...they supposed to know that?"
Sure, it might not have been your place to suddenly reveal his secret like that, but you figured that maybe it was for the best. Not to mention, he had basically done so on his own inattentive accord. It was just even more of a reason to somehow try and make this trio a quatro. A quartet? A...group of four friends, two of which are dating.
Yeah. Totally not awkward at all.
"Well, yeah, I don't see why not. It's the same as how I know that that's Jon Kent..."
And with a simple gesture over to the raven-haired boy repping his father's symbol of hope on his chest, he gave another wave and this time, an unsure smile towards the dude who he was now supposed to accept as your...boyfriend...
"...'Sup."
You turned towards the other, giving another throw of the hand in hopes to make and keep things seeming causal.
"...And that's Damian Wayne."
And though you hoped he'd at the very least show some form of peace, he kept his glare and stoic nature in tact, staring down Billy as if he were some low-life thug from Gotham City. Someone easy to beat to a pulp, should the boy prove he deserves such a fate in any way, shape, or form.
"(Y/N), how do we even know we can put our trust into this...imbecile? I thought you-"
"-You can trust him, I swear. You trust me, don't you?" You cut in before Damian could even finish his light scoldings. "Besides, he revealed himself to you-"
"-On accident." Billy quickly added, already wishing he hadn't. Wishing he was still in his grown, superhero form. At the very least, his own intimidation tactics would come from confidence rather than cockiness and might even actually work.
"But you did it." You reminded. "He did it. So it's only right that he knows who you are, too, you guys." You informed calmly.
"How did you even meet him? How do I know he can be trusted, (Y/N)?" Damian berated further, Jon nodding in agreement as you huffed in frustration. "This is just as reckless as it is dangerous, especially for you. You need to learn that these types of things can lead to your own downfall."
Before you could even give yourself a chance to think of a response (not even wanting to admit he could possibly be right), Billy had spoken up on your behalf, regardless of his outward appearance.
"Hey, look, I know you're super protective of her and all, I get it... but she can totally take care of herself. I've seen it firsthand. So, relax."
As if the atmosphere couldn't grow any thicker, you felt as though you'd choke on your own shallow breaths, watching the two stare down into each other's matching colored eyes with no intentions to back down. Jon quickly threw you a glance, knowing all too well how Damian tended to "appreciate" these sorts of challenges, and you were the last hope at stopping it, both physically and through your words.
You chose the latter, piping back up with a worthy story to back it all up.
"Like I said... It was a meet-cute."
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"Mother, I don't understand. I've learned all there is to know about this realm. I've read every book you've given me, and I've seen...so many things I wish I hadn't..." You raved on as you practically jogged to keep up with your mother's long strides.
"What more could I possibly have to gain?"
"Young (Y/N)..." She began, stopping abruptly in order to turn and face you.
"My sweet girl..." You looked up at her with curious eyes, still unsure as to why you two were left wandering the streets of a busy Philidelphia. Deep in the heart, the sea of people wading around your cloaked figures. Shooting you weird glances, but minding their business nonetheless while your mother cupped your chin.
"There is always something more to learn. Much to know, something else to discover. And, if you must take my word, the journey is worth it."
"But-"
"In time, you will see. But, for now, I have a rather important lesson for you today."
You were left befuddled at this bit of information, your brows knitting together as you wracked your brain for what the lesson could possibly be.
"I have completed all of my training. And I wasn't assigned a mission..."
"No, but you're not exactly ready for your tournament on the island, either." She teased with a smirk, leaving you to do sort of a 'har-har' motion with your head at the implication of your later-to-be-done trials on Themyscira. An island you had yet to go back to, having been born there and no memories after that once Diana had made the decision to bring you back to the land mortal man resided on.
"Today is a lesson of cooperation. Teamwork."
"Oh, mother..." You sighed frivolously. "I know how to work with a team. I-"
"I am aware of your allyship with Clark and Bruce's sons. I admire it, actually. You three are a lot more cohesive than what I could ever be with their stubborn fathers. But, I assumed as such. You guys became friends before your superhero duties came into play."
You contemplated such words, and supposed they were in truth. Your mother, Bruce, and Clark seemed to act more like coworkers rather than friends. Unlike the relationship you had with their sons, having bonded and forming a close-knit pact amongst the three of yourselves before having even thought of doing superhero work together.
And when you did, it made your chemistry on the battlefield a lot better; improved your guy's intuitions for the others' next move. Things got done with smoothness, a quick and ease that other teams seemed to have lacked.
"But," your mother continued, intersecting your own thoughts. "I need to know you are capable of such skill and cohesiveness when your partner isn't someone you know. That you will succeed, even if it means working with a foreign accomplice."
"Someone new?" You predicted, suddenly growing unsure of whatever was to come. And rightfully so, the ground suddenly beginning to shake while the crowds around stopped in their hurried tracks. Their gazes went upwards, yours following until the source of such powerful steps came into view.
"Great Hera..."
Your words came out no louder than a whisper, (E/C) eyes widening at the sight of the largest, reptile-like creature you had ever seen. The hairs on the back of your neck stood on end, your blood running cold the moment you had a clear view to recognize the beast.
The father of monsters, leaving all to see within their complete rights to run away in terror. A creature you had only heard about in legends and folklore, and only the kind your mother had told you as a young girl...
"That's... That's Typhon..." Again, your words dwindled away into fearful breaths, taking steps back hoping to fall into your mother's embrace as though it would somehow help the overall situation. And suddenly, it had grown worse, not able to feel the woman behind you and only realizing she was gone when she called down to you from the air.
"Be strong, my child!" She encouraged with an unchanged smile, flying away as if she was really going to...
Oh...oh no...
"Mom! Mom, no, you can't leave! You- You're literally Wonder Woman, you can not just leave me to die!!"
"You will not die, for you are the one who chooses what perishes and what remains in your wake. My Valkyrie. . ." She reminded you, ending it with a charm you didn't dare forget. "With or without accomplice, you are so much more capable than you know!"
Whatever lesson this was, it was insane. But, surely, your own mother wouldn't actually put you in a position where you wouldn't return, right?
You took in a breath.
'Trust yourself, (Y/N).' You reminded yourself. Just like that, you disregarded your cloak, revealing your superhero outfit/armor and drew your weapon. For now, you were all that stood between this city, and this ravenous-
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"Are you done?"
Your voice cut out, your expressive hands and dramatic tone faltering while your eyes shifted towards Damian in disbelief.
"Excuse me?"
"This...really isn't giving me meet-cute vibes..." Jon next to speak as Billy gave a huff and an eye roll at the sudden interruption.
"Well, maybe if you'd let her finish-"
"I don't recall asking you."
Another pause, Billy giving Damian a knowing look to combat what seemed to be a permanent glare etched onto his face.
"I didn't know I needed your permission?"
"In the presence of those more advanced than you are, I suggest you learn to wait until it's given."
Billy's eye narrowed as he started up another petty bicker, Jon remaining unaware of the upcoming fight brewing between the two. He was busy working out his own thoughts...
"I'm still trying to figure out what he has to do with any of this..."
"More than you." Billy scoffed, now stuck in a defensive attitude.
"Enough! I will go on and you two will listen, or so help me, you will get no explanation at all and you're just going to have to deal with the fact that I have a boyfriend and like it."
And finally, there was quiet once more. A subduing, accepting one that left you satisfied, nodding a little in accomplishment before continuing on.
"Thank you. Now, as I was saying..."
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
You were all that stood between the city, the rest of the world, and this ravenous, ghastly beast. As a result, the creature did nothing more than throw you around and cause more destruction. You were thanking your lucky stars there had been no casualties, and that you yourself were still even alive. But that could change at any moment following after a simple mistake.
One lazy swing of your weapon or step of your foot. One moment of being at the wrong place at the wrong-
"Watch out...!!"
And before you could even process the end of a sharply filed wing coming your direction in hopes to inpale you, a flash of red, white, and gold blurred your vision and suddenly, you were no longer in the path of a painful death. Just left very stunned and confused while the only thing that could leave your lips was a shocked, "Barry, what are you-?!"
"Who?"
Your mouth snapped shut, looking up and staring into eyes that certainly didn't belong to the Flash, even though he was the only person you knew who sported such a combination of colors and possessed super speed. And yet, here you were, being proven wrong and gently set down back onto the pavement.
"N-...Nobody, nevermind."
"Are you okay? You seem...not cut out for this."
This statement caught you off guard. Sure, you were most definitely shaken up and could hardly plan your next course of action without a wave of fear striking up your spine, but...
Not cut out for this?
"That is most certainly the complete opposite of the case, I'll have you know. I do this for a living."
The man gave you a look up and down, a mix of amusement and unsureness crossing his face as he spoke quickly.
"I dunno, you were kinda... If that were true, I don't think I would've had to come in and save you."
"Save me?" You couldn't help but repeat this, truly flabbergasted at such a claim. "Save me?"
"Also, is there a way you can tell me why you're dressed like a Wonder Woman wannabe?" He asked with no true intent to offend, but the more he talked, the deeper the hole he was digging himself would grow.
"'Cause not to harsh your flow or anything, but the original is always better, and I should know because I met her, but you don't wanna hear about that, I mean..."
"I am not-!" You cut into your own loud protest, fighting the urge to discredit any comparison of your person to your mother. You were your own person, no matter the affiliations you carried, and you were quick to make such information known once a breath left your throat.
"My name is Valkyrie, last born of Themyscira and granddaughter of Zeus. And I'll have you know I'd never step down from my duties of protecting the innocent lives of this land, for I am the one who chooses who lives and and who dies. And that beast...?"
You pointed upwards in the relative direction of where it had last been, but the chaos surrounding was enough for both of you to know neither of your jobs were done.
"It goes down. Tonight."
The super in front of you nodded as if he wanted to believe everything you just said but truly couldn't. A little chuckle even slipped through his lips, the man slowly backing away with intent to return to the fight as well.
"Okay, you seem very focused on all of the right things, but since you're obviously way younger than me which makes you more inexperienced, I think I should at least show you how it's done first so you don't get yourself hurt. Alright? Okay."
And with that, he flew off, the short breeze of wind that was left from his takeoff blowing your (H/C) hair back while you stared up in perturbance.
"...Imbecile." You cursed.
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"You were arrogant, which made you stupid. And you lacked precision and grace, as well as the ability to properly communicate." You further informed, recalling the way Billy had just as much of a hard time defeating Typhon as you had. If anything, with no training experience, even worse. And when you tried to join in on the fight, he simply remained in your way, and neither of you had ever gotten anywhere for the longest.
"Is that all? Because I'm starting to get a subliminal message that we aren't as girlfriend-and-boyfriend as I thought..." Billy sighed, his face shifting into a light shade of red at your truthful words and thoughts.
He wanted to say how he didn't recall things to have gone that badly at all, but you spoke up before he could.
"No. That isn't all. But, to spare you, I'd like to point out how though you have no mental training whatsoever..."
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"...I must admit, you are...very powerful. And your magic isn't like any kind I've seen before." You uttered through heavy breaths, having spent what felt like hours just to defeat such a cruel animal.
"Are you...a god?"
There was a delay, the man trying to work out your question in a way that would make the most sense.
"Demi-God, actually, technically... It's really complicated to explain. My brother would be way better at telling you all about it."
Your head tilted, clearly confused by his words, which only caused him to try and clear it up further.
"Short version, I got my powers from a wizard who said I was like, pure of heart...wise- No, strong in spirit...or whatever, something like that. And ever since, I've been saving the world with my family, which is super cool, by the way."
"And this wizard..." You inquired. "Was he a god?"
"Uhm...no." he answered, again, with a vagueness that caused you to tilt your head once more. It made his heart leap and brought on the sudden urge to tell you more.
"But you know, one thing we do have in common, the whole Zeus thing...that's totally what the 'Z' in my name stands for."
You nodded, accepting the oddly placed information for what it was before sticking out a hand for him to shake. He did so with an eagerness that almost reminded you of Jon.
"Well, regardless of all previously stated about you, your wizard was correct. Your heart was in the right place the entire time, and I admire that. It's...been a pleasure working with you..."
He smiled, hurrying to provide you with a name. Quickly and unthinking, as usual...
"Shazam."
A flash of lighting made you pull away instantly, the thunderous bolt causing you to jump back into a defensive position until the smoke cleared.
What was revealed to you was a teenage boy around your age and looking up at you with wide, emerald green eyes. His brown hair was disheveled, and he practically stumbled over his own two feet in attempts to get away as fast as possible.
"Wait-!" You stopped him, grabbing at his wrist to which he swiftly tried to pull away from. The close proximity only made you more aware of the height difference, yourself maybe only a couple inches taller, which merely added to the fact that he was wildly intimidated by you as a whole. He wanted nothing to do with the consequences of you finding out his biggest secret, especially after all of the things he had said laced in a tone of condescension.
He continued to pull, but you didn't budge. Instead, you calmed, lowering your tone into a whisper that ceased his movements.
"Wait..." You gave a firm nod of solidarity. Filled with compassion, and you were quick to add a smile. "Your secret is safe with me. You have my word."
"Thank you..." He breathed, watching as you slowly released the hold on his wrist. His touch lingered, your fingertips the last to meet before the both of you were now left standing, face to face before you registered the entirety of the situation. Replaying your mother's words...
'I need to know you are capable of such skill and cohesiveness when your partner isn't someone you know. That you will succeed, even if it means working with a foreign accomplice.'
"You were the lesson."
"...What?"
The confusion splayed across his face amused you, a giggle escaping your lips that made his chest fill to the brim with butterflies while you explained.
"Do you recall the Zeus thing you pointed out earlier?"
He nodded.
"Well," you began, straightening yourself out. "My name is Valkyrie, last born of Themyscira, granddaughter of Zeus."
"Yeah, I...caught that the first ti-"
"Also known as (Y/N)," You cut in. "Daughter of this land's beloved Wonder Woman."
"Oh... Oh, my god...!" He gasped, a mixture of amazement and shock in his tone while you gave another laugh and a nod.
"You have revealed yourself to me, so-"
"Accidentally."
"But you did it." You swiftly reminded. "And I have revealed myself to you. So, it's nice to officially meet you..."
"Billy!" He filled in the blank as fast as he could, soon realizing you may want a full name before awkwardly adding the rest.
"Batson...Billy Batson."
"Hm." You hummed in satisfaction, your smile never once faltering as you gave a nod. "I...look forward to working with you in the future. Preferably, not under the circumstances of another lesson."
You pointed upwards, the large body of "Typhon" shape-shifting into one Martian Manhunter, staring at the two of you from high above with Wonder Woman at his side, the two giving nods of content.
"Holy moly..."
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"Oh! I see now...! Meet-cute." Jon expressed as Damian gave a disappointed shake of the head.
"Careless." He huffed, to which you ignored in favor of only responding to Jon's positivity rather than Damian's negativity.
"Exactly. And then, a few weeks later, I took him out for a date."
"Which I think went pretty well, by the way." Billy added, smoothly lacing his hand with yours (completely ignoring Damian and his icy glare as well).
"Mmm..." You hummed with a tone that begged to differ, leaving it clear you and Billy remembered your first date very differently...
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"Wait, so...you really can't fly?"
Though the question may have seemed jarring, the bustling crowds of the inner city masked such an odd remark. It left you two free to converse on topics of both citizen and superhero life. Or whatever else came to mind.
Hopefully, all that came to mind, seeing as your time together was limited for the day.
"Unfortunately, no. Just because I am my mother's daughter doesn't mean I inherited all of her capabilities."
Billy shrugged, making sure to keep pace with you in order to actually be by your side. And, as a courtesy tip from Mary, keep himself on the outside towards the road and yourself inwards. 'Just in case' she had said, which confused him. Not that he doubted, though.
"I guess so. I just thought that maybe since you're her kid-"
"-I'm not a carbon copy, Billy. I am my own person, you know." You informed.
"Yes, of course, I totally get that! But, if you can't fly, and if you're not immortal...what powers do you have?"
Such a question left you to think for a moment, your lips pursing up until you were finally left to shrug yourself.
"Well, I wouldn't really consider them powers. Unlike your abilities, I-..."
A gasp cut into your own words, your mood boosting upwards just like your eyes towards the pink neon sign above.
"Oh my gosh, oh my-! I've heard of this, I've always been so curious to try, but it seems there's never any time..."
At first, Billy was confused by your jolt and burst of excitement, staring at you in muddled amusement.
"Huh?"
You grabbed him by the chin, between your thumb and index finger, and forced his gaze up where yours had been. Quickly, he now understood and looked back down at you in bewilderment.
"You've...really never had ice cream before?"
"Well, with my training and all, on top of my studies and hero duties, I never really...get the chance to do much of anything considered downtime." You explained before giving an obnoxious sigh.
"Hell, if only you knew what I went through just to convince my mother to let me out today. And don't even get me started on my best friends..."
"Your...best friends?" Billy inquired, nudging you with his shoulder in a teasing manner. "Thought I was your best friend."
"Yeah, you are." You admitted, casually nudging him back, which struck up bashful giggles between the two of you. "But, in a different way. They are...my first friends. My first superhero friends, normal person friends...my first best friends. So, naturally, getting past them is like attempting to look a gorgon right in the eyes and not turning to stone."
Though he hadn't caught onto the last bit, the analogy something foreign to him, he'd had come up with a plan instantly to both woo you and to simply give you the experience you deserved.
"Tell you what, (N/N)..." He began, using a nickname he had come up with a short time ago.
"Hm?" You chirped in response, eager for his solution as your walk continued on as a gentle and slow stroll.
"I'll take you for a fly around the city. Watch the sunset, maybe grab some food on the way; Ice cream for dessert..."
You face grew hot just thinking about such an ordeal. It was ideally romantic, and it did end with you getting the treat you had always wanted to try.
"It'd be killing two birds with one stone."
His own weird analogy had caught you off guard, taking in a dramatic inhale as a hand flew to your heart.
"Billy...!" You almost scolded. "I do not wish to kill any birds! Especially not with a stone, that's terrible."
He couldn't help but laugh, though you were having trouble finding the humor in his statement as he pulled you into him, an arm around your shoulder providing a cheesy type of comfort you couldn't help but fall for as well.
"It's...an expression. Just means getting two things done at once." He explained cooly, only for you to pout.
"It's a terrible expression."
He huffed, sending you a deadpanned expression.
"Do you agree to the idea or not, (Y/N)?"
You pretended to think about the offer, though you had already come up with your answer. You just didn't want to come off as too desperate, especially considering this was your first date. Sure, you asked (er, more or less commanded) him out, but that didn't mean it wasn't any less nerve-wracking. And natrually, your mother was not the best of help, pushing and pulling the whole situation.
Encouraging you to show strength and pursue the love that pleased you. But, as instinct to protect their child, as any living creature would, often told you no when it actually came down to you wanting to spend time with Billy.
But, you were here now, and that was all that mattered. Matter of fact, you swiftly realized how silly it would be to hold back on maybe a once in a lifetime experience.
"...I suppose." You finally hummed, to Billy's excitement before you quickly added, "And...don't call me (Y/N)."
"What?"
"To you, I am (N/N)." You instructed, having grown fond of whatever little nickname or petname he had given you. "It has been decided upon."
"Okay, (N/N)."
It wasn't long before you two had wandered into a more desolate area, being thorough that the coast was clear before a bolt of lightning was struck and a pair of glasses came flying off.
"Are you...sure this is safe?" You began to hesitate. No, you weren't afraid of heights. But you were definitely afraid of falling, and while of course you trusted whenever Jon would carry you or when your own mother would, Billy had proven himself a tad more...
Distracted? Nuanced? Impetuous? All could be applicable, really...
"Yeah, of course I'm sure! It'll be fun, c'mon, no stress." He urged, beckoning you over with the wave of his hand while now in his superhero alter ego.
"Do you..." You didn't want what you were about to ask sound silly. You were practically indestructible. Falling should be the last thing you were worried about. And yet...
"I'll fly low through the city; and I won't even go my top speed, I guarantee no building crashes." He further pushed with a hyped up grin.
"Do you promise not to drop me?" You rushed, almost embarrassed with how meekly it seemed to come out. Not like you at all, but Billy couldn't help but find it endearing as he walked forward and placed a comforting palm on your shoulder.
"(N/N), only an idiot would drop someone like you."
And that was all the more convincing you needed, ignoring the butterflies in your chest while he lifted you into his arms in bridal fashion.
He made sure to handle you with the utmost care, keeping his promise having never once even let you so much as wobble or slip from his grasp. And, his plans had proven worthy of the hype, the city lights a whole different view to behold while flying so low. Even as the sun began to set, you had no intentions of returning home anytime soon, regardless of curfew. You couldn't leave now!
Not while you and Billy (now back to himself) sat atop of one of the highest points in the city. Cooped up together on one of the bridge towers while he taught you the proper way to eat a philly cheesteak.
"No, no," He scolded, teasing and light as you let your sandwich rest in your lap, giggling at his example. "You gotta' do it like this. The experience isn't true if you don't get cheese like... literally all over your face, watch..."
And he did just that, leaving you to shake your head as laughter escaped your lips.
"Billy, that seems...unnecessarily messy."
"Well, fine then...!" He challenged, his mouth still full as he gestured towards you. "Lemme' see you try and take a bite without getting cheese or toppings anywhere else."
"Bil-"
"Go on."
You huffed, pursing your lips and narrowing your eyes in his direction before giving in to his petty challenge.
. . .
"It's good, right?"
"It's messy, like I stated..." Your words could've very well been chokes if you weren't careful, your mouth just as full of food as Billy's once was while dots of cheese lined your lips.
"Well, then, congratulations. You did it right. You've made me proud." He announced smugly, handing you an honorary napkin to clean your face with.
Once you had managed to swallow it all down, you couldn't help but admit you were left satisfied.
"How...often are cheesteaks sold?"
He chuckled at your question, now left genuinely proud that he had seemed to have successfully transferred his food addiction onto you.
"Don't worry, we'll get you more another time."
He reached to the side of himself, picking up two small cups filled with the icy treat you had even forgotten you'd gushed about. It left you happily surprised once again as he handed you your own.
"For now, I think we should start you off with the most basic flavor. It's really sweet and really cold, so I didn't wanna overwhelm you."
"What flavor is it?" You were practically bouncing with glee, anticipating its taste before he could even tell you what it was. He didn't even get to get the word out before you had shoveled a bite into your mouth.
"French Vanilla."
"Oh...my gods..." You sighed, savoring the taste on your tongue as the ice cream began to melt in your mouth.
"I'll get more of this sooner as well, right?" You hoped aloud, Billy nodding but encouraging you to "slow down" before you ended up with a "brain freeze", whatever that was.
Speaking of freeze, the chill that passed by was certainly enough to calm you down from the ice cream, your arms littering in goosebumps as the two of you stared deep into the sunset. It casted a glow against the horizon on the water, and though it was growing more and more chilly by the moment, you couldn't help but comment on the beauty of it all.
Billy was swift to agree, not that he was actually looking at the sunset. Too busy admiring your features, the way your hair fell, and how your eyes practically sparkled. The tone of your skin making any scars and beauty marks pop against it with the glow of the sun highlighting it all in gold.
He had to refrain from grazing a hand against your arm, his brain starting to convince him that he was dreaming or that you were an angel of some sort, unreal until he could prove otherwise. And, without really thinking about it, he made moves to do so.
"(Y/N)?"
"Hm?"
"Are...you cold?"
You thought about it, even though you didn't really have to. Not to mention, there was a feeling rising in your chest. A feeling that you knew where this was going, and of course, you wanted nothing more than to experience that.
"Yeah, kinda."
And in a solid flow of motion, the boy beside you had taken off his flannel to drape it across your own figure. Eager to pull you closer into him, practically on his lap as you two watched the remainder of the setting sun. Well, tried to, your focus still shifting towards Billy every now and again as if you had to make sure, convince yourself, that he was still there.
"You're gonna miss it..." He pointed slightly in the direction of the golden ball of light, his voice practically a whisper when he saw you look back at him for what seemed like the miilonth time. Even so, he couldn't help but smile, one matching your own as you shrugged.
"That's okay..." Was your only response before you felt yourself leaning in closer. It was like you were metal, and he was a magnet, not that he seemed to mind before mimicking your actions. You-

"Oh my god, are you telling us about your first kiss? I don't wanna hear about that..." Jon brushed away the mere thoughts of that with a wave of his hand, his actions only humoring you and Billy as you swayed up against him.
"Yes, the first of many~."
"Stop, oh my god...!"
"You're so immature." You chided at the boy's revulsion. "Can't you just be happy for me?"
"I don't blame him." Damian insisted. "I, too, find it hard to be content when this 'relationship' was merely established a few months prior. Especially without us knowing."
"Well, maybe this is exactly why I didn't want to tell you." You spat before gesturing towards both boys. "Either of you. You don't get it."
"Oh, I understand. Trust me." Damian scoffed at your vehemence. "I understand that if you expect me to allow this to continue any further, I must see whether or not he's actually capable of keeping you safe. And that he can be proven worthy of, not only your time and efforts, but to be trusted as well."
And when his green eyes met with Billy's, it was clear he had no tolerance for the boy whatsoever. If anything, it was almost like there was a purposeful intent laced within his words to gain some sort of a rise out of him. One which he got, expectingly.
"Um, allowed?" Billy repeated, not at all liking the idea of being told what to do by anyone other than his parents, much less another boy his age. And chiefly when it came down to you.
"First of all-"
"Oh my gods, here we go..." You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose once more in complete detest for more of the bickering about to occur. It seemed as though no one was willing to listen to your words, Jon able to sense this when his eyes left your dejected figure and took notice of the forming tension between Damian and Billy.
"You guys...!" Jon cut in, putting out the spark where it began. "Maybe...she's right. Maybe this could be a good thing?"
"Of course I'm right!" You gasped the minute Jon had come to your defense. "Look, I understand that you guys just want to protect me, but... I can't learn things if I don't ever make mistakes. My own mistakes." You emphasized, knowing how quickly Damian liked to swoop in to take over your own, potentially dangerous, missions. And how often Jon managed to talk you out of different situations with charisma you sometimes lacked.
"And, to be fully honest, I don't believe Billy to be a mistake." You added, looking him in the eyes and then turning back towards them. "I really, really want this, okay? And I don't care if you guys don't trust him or... even like him. I like him. I trust him. And that's it."
A final act of silence fell between the lot of you, Damian trying his best and failing at avoiding your pleading (E/C) eyes. Failing, so, he gave up.
More accurately, gave in.
"Very well." He huffed, never one to fully let his guard down, but doing the best he could to provide some sense of acquiesce.
"But, should there be any trace of even a minor slip up," he worked in his own version of compromise, sporting a final death glare in Billy's direction. "I will kill him."
"Oh, please..." Was his only reaction to the threat which left you to step in with your own word of reassurance.
"He won't."
"If he knows what's good for him."
"He won't kill you, he's just saying that..." Jon laughed. It was awkward, a sign of attempted lightheartedness before he went on.
"But really, please don't do anything that will make us regret trusting you. I think it'd be cool to have a new guy around!"
And naturally, Billy was a lot more inclined to warm up to Jon, giving him a nod of respect. It all finally left you able to wind down, knowing that though it wasn't today's plans or intentions, you had successfully integrated your best friends with your boyfriend.
A group unlike any other.
One you... still couldn't come up with a name for.
Tumblr media
AAAAH I feel like this took me way longer than it should've, or that maybe the story itself is too long, but, either way, I hope you liked it!! I can't wait to figure out a face claim for Jon and Damian, btw, that's still sumn I gotta do.

𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 :
You laid in bed with your eyes glued to the ceiling, moping to yourself internally while the sound of your periodic sniffles further continued to fuel the harbored rage you held towards your teachers.
"Have a good spring break!"
"...And once that's done, enjoy the rest of your break!"
"Have fun on your two weeks off!"
"...Spring break!"
Spring, spring, spring...
How in the hell were you supposed to be enjoying the constant itch in your throat and stuffed up nose and, god, the sneezing...? You were growing sick of it (literally and emotionally), and to make matters worse, you'd been like this the entire first week of your two week "break."
You might as well have been sick.
"Ohh-!" Your mother jokingly scoffed, entering your room (without a knock, as most tended to do) with a curiosity about her that went subsided at the sight of you.
"Don't look so depressed. It's a nice day out, at least do something constructive."
"Of course you'd say that." You sneered, and suddenly realized that rage was being directed in the wrong place. Your teachers were just doing their job, being kind and offering their wishes of a good spring break. It wasn't their fault. You looked towards your mom, one half of the problem...
"You and dad got all of the good genes, and I got..."
You gestured to yourself, no further explanation needed other than a quiet, "...this." to finish off your sentence.
With your mom shooting you another knowing look, chin angled downwards and eyebrows raised, you flopped back onto your bed and sunk into the feeling of your allergies rendering you physically weak. It was the sudden raking sound of your blinds being pulled back and the gush of sunlight entering your room that had you then pulling the covers over yourself, unwilling to face the light.
"Close them...!" You practically whined. "My head still hurts, and I-... I..."
A sneeze interrupted your protests, the blankets rising and falling with the large puffs of air exiting with each sneeze.
"Bless you." - "Bless you." - "Bless you." - "Bless you."
You prepared yourself for one more with the following of your mother excusing each one individually, but it had died down in your chest, a pitiful groan taking its place instead as you adjusted and wiggled around under your blanket.
"If you don't get up, you're not gonna get any better." You heard the woman advise. "Besides, you need to eat something before you take this medicine."
Your curiosity peaked at the mention of such, slowly lowering your blankets just enough to reveal your disheveled hair and teary eyes. Sure enough, your mother had a real reason for barging into your room, a bottle of allergy relief spotted in her hand as she waltzed closer to the edge of your bed.
You sat up, mood slightly increasing at just the thought of feeling better. But, upon reaching for it, your mother pulled it away and repeated herself.
"You need to eat something before you take it."
"Ughhh, mom...!" You groaned in exasperation. "Let me take it now, and I'll eat right after, please."
She merely shook her head, taunting you without trying before she was right back to standing and waltzing out of the door.
"You can find me in the kitchen...!" She hummed over her shoulder and purposely left your door open after her exit. Instead of doing so, you were right back in between your blankets and pillows, dreading the feeling of doing any further mental or physical tasks.
The buzzing of your phone was what brought you out of your misery, head slowly lolling over towards your dresser until you could make out the contact name on your screen.

Suddenly, even if for just a moment, you forgot any and all that dampened your mood. Hell, you'd even argue that your nose unclogged for a second, your first smile of the day creeping onto your face at your boyfriend's unexpected call.
"Heyyy-hi...!" He greeted enthusiastically, elongating his words with his face all up in the camera that left you giggling carefully so as not to bring pain to your chest. "How's my super-babe feelin'?"
"Not so super..." You admitted with a shrug, smile faltering and unsure as to if you were blushing or just suffering from a fever. Either way, your cheeks and forehead suddenly ran hot, and it left Freddy to pout on your behalf.
"Allergies?" He guessed, and was answered by your - !... !... !... !... !... - five whole sneezes in a row.
"Allergies." He concluded before shifting his postion from a relaxed lean against his arm to holding the phone high above him with both hands, curls sprawled against his pillow, and an all-too-handsome grin to go with.
"Well, at least you're still a babe." He sighed out his flirt with such a casualness that left you grinning all over again, a wink thrown your way leaving you certain that if you weren't blushing before, you definitely were now.
"Yeah, right..." You scoffed in order to badly cover up how smitten you already were. Hardly a minute into the call, and he had you feeling the best you'd felt all morning, regardless of an itchy throat and mild headache.
"I look like Rudolph the fucking reindeer with my nose this red."
"I think it's cute-! Very festive!" Freddy rushed. You gave him a deadpan look.
"It's the middle of March."
"And?"
At first, you thought he was serving you unprompted attitude, facial expression just as dry as yours had been seconds ago, tone just the same. But then you realized it was just because he was focused. Focusing on his phone screen. Focused right on the-
*flash* *flash* *flash* *flash*
"No-! Stop taking screenshots...!!" You nearly screeched, ducking out of frame while Freddy gave a smug laugh. An audible, "hehehehehehe" that could've been mistaken for a troll or gremlin of some kind letting you know you were too late.
"You look cute, though...!" He pretended to whine, shaking his phone as though it'd bring your face back on camera.
When it did return, it was at the distant voice of your mother from the kitchen, side profile now in view as your eyes stared towards your bedroom door, big and round at the call.
"(Y/N), come eat and take your meds, now...!!"
"But, mom...!!" You called back, fighting the tickle in your throat that urged you to cough. "It's Freddy, I'm talking to Freddy...!!"
But alas, she had no care for your reasoning, simply giving a dramatic huff of exasperation before calling back, "Well, tell him you love him, get off the phone, and come eat...!!"
Finally, you let that cough go, which inevitably proved the woman's point before you faced your boyfriend one last time with a pout of your own that was very much real.
"No, don't do that, stop it." He cooed, solemnly chuckling at your expression before swiftly-
*flash*
"Stop...!!"
"You first!" He countered. "Both looking so cute and pouting."
And to pull a final smile from you, he did the honor of "kissing" it away, bringing his puckered lips to the camera and making kissy noises that earned him more than a grin. Giggles escaped, and you even entertained Freddy by doing it back, only stopping when an abrupt groan came from his end. More laughter ensued, from the both of you, Billy in the background grumbling something about "we share a room, y'know...!" and "...so sappy when we have a world to save..." etcetc.
"(Y/N)...!!"
"Okay...!!" Was your rushed response for your mother before turning back to Freddy and practically whispering, "Bye, Freds, I love you, and I miss you."
"Ahh, don't worry. Just turn on the news and you'll see me."
It wasn't long before you had sluggishly brought yourself from the comfort of your bed and the dopamine of your FaceTime call with Freddy, trudging towards your dining table so you could weakly shove down a meal and finally get that allergy relief your mother held hostage.
"Okay, do these "superheroes" actually save people, or are they here to just cause a scene?"
You looked towards the TV at your father's words, your eyes lighting up as the reporter signaled for her camera to aim at the sky.
"...And we're not fully sure of the intention behind this message, nor if it's specific, but in good nature, I'd like to assume the Philadelphia Fiascos are bidding you all an easy-going, allergy free Spring...!"
The words, created from the sheer speed of Freddy's flying in his superhero form, read 'Get Well Soon <3' while he gave a two finger salute to the camera and anchor woman.
To you.
And you knew that as you did a terrible job of hiding your flattered expression from your family.

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 :
Your eyes remain glued the the blue of the sky, not a cloud in sight yet sill anticipating the appearance of something. But alas, you knew you'd have to wait for later tonight to see anything worth marveling at, fireworks due to go off once the nighttime had set in.
So, instead, you spent the late afternoon of July 4th sitting in the grass, itching away at your legs and waiting for Victor to finish grilling. Hotdogs, steaks, burgers, chicken, you name it! Very American, not that you'd be caught dead celebrating the actual holiday. Today was just a day to get together with loved ones, eat, drink, and light up explosives that were otherwise illegal.
Who cares about-...
What does the fourth celebrate again?
You couldn't remember, still preoccupied with leaning forward in order to scratch at the irritating skin that had been bothering you since you left the house. And nevermind the pollen, allergy relief only able to do so much before you found yourself drawing in shallow breaths to let out a harsh, loud-
"ha-CHOO...!!"
. . .
"Aww-! Noo...!" You whined, the force of your sneeze catapulting your ice cream off of the cone still gripped in your palm. You watched the frozen treat splat into the green of the grass, the color of your flavor a stark contrast as you stared in disbelief.
"Oh-ho-ho, noo..." Freddy cooed at the sore sight, a chuckled lightly mixed in before he went on. "Well, there's no use crying over spilled milk..."
Truth be told, you genuinely considered crying, not wanting to hear the less-than-comforting words of your boyfriend beside you, who still had his ice cream perfectly intact.
"I can't even enjoy a barbecue because my body's immune system is trash." You commented.
"Don't say that." Freddy soothed, for real this time, though, rubbing a gentle hand up and down your back. "You did good for a while, there. First sneeze all day!"
"Yeah, but I've been itching like crazy! And my eyes keep tearing up. I think it's the grass..."
Freddy nodded in agreement, looking around to see that his family did happen to pick a spot right in the middle of the park field. Granted, the place was growing more populated by the group/family due to tonight's fireworks show hosting, but he'd much rather put your comfort over a summer tradition.
With that in mind, he stood, his crutch in hand as you followed in action, rubbing your eyes in a bad attempt to sooth the irritation until your hand was gently pried away and filled with another cone.
"Here, you take this..." Freddy spoke after handing you his own ice cream for you to eat after the devastating loss of yours.
"Wait, no, you don't have to-"
"-...and I'll go find a spot at a table, for now."
"Freddy..." You tried to interject again, but he wasn't having it. His mind already set and on a mission to achieve maximum allergy relief for his girl.
"Just until the fireworks start, y'know? Plus, I doubt you want bugs all over you when the food's ready."
"I-...That's true."
Though his actions and thoughts were simple, just a mere reaction to your discomfort, you couldn't help but feel slightly overwhelmed at Freddy's attentiveness. You hadn't gotten used to the way he was always so patient with you, especially about what you were sensitive to, which felt like almost everything a lot of the time. You figured if it was a drag on you, it certainly bothered everyone else around. Hell, growing up, you were the infamous "sick kid" always home with a rumored flu or cold.
And when you were in, you weren't exactly... popular, per se. No one wanted to catch whatever it was you had, when in reality, you didn't have anything at all! Nothing contagious, anyway. Just... really bad, year-round allergies.
You thought it a wonder Freddy was able to ignore such a thing. Not even ignore it, but accommodate for it, which is more than what anyone has ever done for you besides your parents.
. . .
"Thank you." You said, eventually, after a long afternoon of laughing and talking, eating and dancing, family activies, and all of the sneezes, coughs, and lathering of itch cream in between.
Night was here now, and while yes, you two had returned to the grass along with his family in anticipation for the fireworks, your eyes no longer remained fixated on the sky. They stayed on Freddy, admiring all of his features as best you could in the dark and elaborating further when he turned to you in confusion.
"Thank you for not getting sick of me."
"Wh-?! How could I? You don't even have to thank me for that, I- What?" He stammered over his swift words, which was pretty much a norm for him as you chuckled slightly before going on.
"I just mean, like... Sometimes, I'm sick of being sick. And I know I'm not sick. It's just allergies. But no one else really knows that unless I tell them, and even then, I feel like it gets... annoying, almost? For me, yeah, and for other people because I am, essentially, always sick. I can't just... enjoy stuff because I'm always worried about what's gonna make me sneeze the most or what's gonna make my eyes flare up."
There was a pause.
"I know it's really not that deep, but I'm just glad you take the time to understand, you know? And that you're not annoyed by me."
Another pause. Freddy spoke.
"It kinda is that deep, though."
"...What?"
Freddy adjusted himself so that he was fully turned towards you, offering up his full attention in hopes he would gain yours in return.
"I don't want you to feel like you're just your allergies, okay? Like, yeah, you sneeze a lot, but you have the cutest sneezes, so it's not like anyone could possibly be annoyed unless they're morons."
"Freddy..." You cautioned with a knowing smirk, and he gave a gentle, pushing hand of defense.
"Kidding-! Ish. But seriously, I love you for you, (Y/N). For all of the things you like, for the things you do, the things you think and believe. I mean, hello, you literally-!" He came in close, whispering as if he wasn't talking amongst a chattering and unaware crowd.
"...you literally accepted me when I told you about the sha-ha-zam thing."
You giggled at the memory, nodding at his words as you spoke.
"Why wouldn't I? It doesn't make you any less Freddy. You're still my boyfriend, and I love you. Wanna make you comfortable and happy, you know?"
"Exactly!" Freddy agreed. "So you do get it. That's exactly how I feel about you, I mean- What, you think a little pollen-induced snot is gonna keep me from kissing you?"
"Okay, okay, I get it...!"
"Puh-lease, woman." He finished as though he hadn't heard your protest, only dropping the serious act when he saw yours break into an expression of glee.
As you shared the rest of your laughs together, unable to pull away from each other's gazes, the light of the first firework shooting off into the sky lit up your faces. It brought on a romantic swell, a final factor into sharing a sweet kiss as it exploded in the air, the golden colors fading away along with the thought of anything possibly irritating you further this summer evening.

𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 :
The humidity caused a stuffy feeling all over, a cold sweat thinly lining your person. You ignored it, for now, playing with the edge of the rug you sat atop mindlessly with your gaze fixated on the screen displaying first-person views of blood splattering and gunfire.
"Freds, you said after this last round it'd be my turn."
Billy gave an audible, "Tch." at your huff, smirking down at you from his spot on the sofa-chair while he waited for the loading screen to pass.
"Never seen someone so eager to lose before."
"Shut up...!" you exclaimed, whipping your head around to face him. "That's why you can't even beat Freddy on easy mode."
"The scores say otherwise."
It was now your turn it scoff at his bold claim, snickering while you spoke on semi-behalf of your boyfriend.
"Can't do math either, apparently, 'cause Freddy beat you this round, which means he's won more times than you."
"I'm hyping myself up for the next round, (Y/N). Ever heard of self-encouragement?"
Speak of the handsome devil, he was quick to butt in with his own opinion on the matter, coffee brown eyes still glued to the screen while strengthening his character with extra ammo and inventory.
"I find this argument to be both funny and pointless, seeing as my skills are better than both of yours combined."
"Says who?" Billy laughed in disbelief, his attention now fully towards his brother sprawled across the large, blue beanbag next to him.
"Says me! I'm the one with training from the ultimate game master of this family."
Giggling to yourself, you looked back at him with a start of hilarity he caught in your own (E/C) eyes, already preparing himself for whatever it was you were about to dish.
"Oh, you mean you mean the literal twelve year old?"
Alright, there was no combating that. It was the truth, Eugene proving himself the best video game teacher any one of you had ever met. Which, in your guy's case, was sort of pathetic for a group of teenagers.
But still...
"Okay- Babe, who's side are you on?"
"Mine!" You answered without second thought. "I want a turn, you promised."
"Okay, sure." Freddy shrugged, leaning over to hand you the controller. It barely grazed the pads of your fingers before it was snatched back, the sound coming from the TV an indicator of a new game beginning.
"After this round." Freddy swiftly added, leaving you to toss your head back with a frustrated whine.
"Dude...!"
But before you could scold him on keeping his word, the sound of the front door creaking open caused all of your heads to shift to the right. But alas, there was no need to see who would enter first, the noise enough for all of you to tell it was the two youngest who had arrived, along with Pedro from the walk to the nearby gas station.
"We've brought sustenance...!!"
The video game master himself eventually made his way into the living room, greeting you all with arms full of snacks and drinks to choose from.
"Thanks." Both boys murmured in unison, hardly sparing Eugene a glance with their focus solidly glued to the game. It caused you to roll your eyes and stand, ignoring the rude behavior of both of them as you gently took the food from his grasp and actually made eye contact.
"Thank you, this is sweet."
"It's no problem, but, uh..."
Rubbing the back of his neck nervously, his eyes shifted behind his glasses towards where the front door was, assuming it was still open as Pedro walked in. He also bore an anxious expression, and it mildly concerned you as you looked back towards Eugene in question.
"It's not a...huge deal or anything, but... aren't you allergic to cats?"
"...Yes?"
And before you could question the random and sudden interest in your bodily weaknesses, a shout grabbed all of your attention.
"Wait, stop, come back...!!"
Little balls of fur came barreling through the house unexpectedly in all directions, their mewls tiny like them, yet so loud as Darla came running in after them
"I can't catch you all...!" She gasped, and followed three that had gone running towards the kitchen.
"You can't just bring home every animal you find while we're out." Eugene chided, following after as Pedro managed to capture two more into his hands before they could get far.
"We couldn't just leave them in a box in the cold."
Eugene shrugged, a lot of truth in Pedro's defense that made it hard to argue against.
"Yeah, but...still..."
Before any of you could fully question the matter, you nearly jumped at another pair of kittens that came running towards you, attempting to walk backwards before they could come any closer until you found yourself tripping over Billy's ankle.
"Oh shi-"
And down you went, falling over his lap and over to Freddy, landing nearly on top of the boy who began to let out unintelligible shouts about his controller and the game and-
"I guess it's a tie, then." Billy commented, not too bummed with the circumstances, seeing as he was losing before he was pleasantly surprised with a bright, orange kitten making itself comfortable in his lap.
"No, no...! Nuh-uh, that doesn't count! Girlfriend interference!"
"It's not like I did it on purpose." You murmured, doing the same as that orange kitten and making yourself comfortable in Freddy's hold. "I was caught off guard, I didn't expect-"
"-They were just kittens." Freddy huffed before you could even finish giving any excuses or apologies for your interruption.
"I'm allergic, you know that!"
"They're this big...!"
He made a gesture with his hands, replicating the size of the kittens to which you completely ignored in favor of dramatics.
"I was attacked!"
A pause loomed over the two of you, staring at each other blankly until a wave of giggles broke the silence, and he was lightly pressing kisses to your temple.
More mewls caught your attention, a small void approaching the two of you and standing on its hind-legs in an attempt to climb up the beanbag.
"Oh my god, it's literally the same size as the controller."
At Freddy's coos, you had to admit that the kitten was very adorable, so itty-bitty while being enclosed in the palms of your boyfriend's hands. Without any thought, your hands outstretched to hold it, it's head whipping towards you in curiosity with its small pink nose and big round eyes, white, wispy whiskers and-
"Bless you."
"Bless you."
"Bless you."
"Bless you."
A final sneeze never came, the feeling dying in your nose, chest, and throat that served as a reminder that there would be no kitten petting or holding for you. Not with such intense allergies. Not if the foster family were all going to creepliy chorus, "Bless you" at you every single time you sneezed.
"Freddy, I can't stay here, there's too many cats."
Your voice strained as you talked, hands rubbing at your itchy eyes while the hot flash started to increase tenfold.
"But look, he likes you." Freddy cooed further, holding the black cat up to your face as if he were attempting to hypnotize you with the blue of its eyes. And maybe, if your nose hadn't immediately gone stuffy, you'd fall for it.
"She's a girl." Darla corrected, entering the living room with her arms dawning the three kittens that had dashed away from her in the first place.
"But look, she likes you." Freddy repeated as though he hasn't mistaken the gender at all.
"Yeah, well, my body doesn't."
Again, your comment was ignored, the boy moving the kitten as close to your face as possible until you were touching noses ever so gently.
"Boop."
"Ha-! Choo!!"
The cat was gone, her entire body squirming oddly until Freddy let go and she landed on all fours, scurrying away from the loud and frightening creature (you) and its thunderous roar (your sneeze).
"Sorry...!" You called after it pointlessly, sighing to yourself in melancholy while Freddy did his best to pick away each and every last strand of cat hair from both of your persons.
"At least you're not deathly allergic." He hummed as he worked, sensing the wave of sadness thay coursed through your body along with your sickly feeling and trying his best to uplift your spirits.
"Nope." You agreed. "Just a stuffed up nose, sneezing and itching, clamminess, watery eyes-"
"Alright, alright, you got me." Freddy smiled in defense. "So you'll never be able to own a cat one day. Big whoop! You know I'd never let you become a cat-lady anyway. That, like, puts you en route to becoming the next Catwoman, and we can't have that."
At this, your head turned, and you were greeted with the sight of each sibling coddling over one or two kittens, Mary having joined the scene upon hearing the commotion from upstairs. Even Billy was indulging, nobody knowing he even had it in him to be babying something. And yet...
"You're just the cutest little creamsicle, aren't you? With your little toe beans..."
'It should've been me pressing those little toe beans...' You thought to yourself, only speaking back up when another sad sigh left your chest and you were back to facing Freddy, playing with his hands loosely as if they were a better substitute.
"It'd be nice to raise one. Just one, without needing to hack up a lung four seconds later."
And of course, your boyfriend was quick to sympathize with you, poking out his own lip as though he were the one suffering and pouting due to uncontrollable allergies. He hated seeing such a dejected look on your face, unable to enjoy something as simple as playing with a bunch of kittens, and with no real way to solve the issue he felt forced to offer up another choice that didn't involve them at all.
"Wanna go outside? We could go to the park, get on the swings and stuff."
"Let me guess," you deadpanned. "You want me to push you so it feels like you're flying?"
"Wha-! No-! I-... No, that is not even the case, you are such- Yes, you little witch, stop reading my mind."
You giggled at his dramatics, taking your time with scooting off of his lap while you dished up theatrics of your own.
"Ah, yes, the park riddled with germ infested kids and play equipment, along with a cool breeze to carry them all into my already weakened body."
"Okay, now you're just being a Negative Nancy." Freddy chided, using his knee to completely bounce you off of him and onto the floor. You'd let this slide, merely narrowing your eyes at him as he stood and grabbed his crutch.
"C'mon, (Y/N), it's better than being trapped in here with... with that."
Pointing out the way Mary was now being cornered by every last kitten in the room, all anyone could do was watch as they all loudly screamed for her attention, jumping up at her and trying to climb up her fleece skirt all because they had caught just the slightest whiff of the food, salmon, she'd brung home from work.
"Oh my god, spare me...!" She laughed nervously. "I can't give you what I've already eaten, please...!"
You shrugged, nodding at the scene which would be one stop short of torture to you.
"Fair enough."
It was a short trip to the front door, yourself the first to try and exit before you both halted in your tracks, a gray and white tabby the only thing blocking you between kitten-induced allergies and freedom. Almost as if on que, it licked its paw clean and you felt a familiar tickle in the back of your nose.
"Darla...!!"
"AH-choo!!"
"...You left one outside!!"
Neither of you were sure if the little girl had actually heard Freddy or not, too focused on the way the kitten began to stumble closer while you took cautious steps back.
"I want peace."
Amusingly monotonous, yet fully serious, the words left you and surprisingly caused it to stop, big, round eyes staring into yours before scuttling past with eager mewls similar to its kin in pursuit of the picked-up scent of salmon (that were still currently jumping Mary).

𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 :
"Are you sure? We can go home if you want."
You shook your head, offering up a shy smile at Freddy's kind suggestion. It hadn't been the first time today, and you were sure it wouldn't be the last, the harsh winter taking a toll on you. Even in the mild warmth and comfort of the public library, the chill of winter still managed to ravage your body, causing you to shuffle further unto your coat and rub up against Freddy's arm whenever you could (which was usually while standing still or sitting).
"I'm okay, just reading along with you."
"You're trembling, (Y/N)."
And with that, he closed the open comic book in his hand, lazily tossing it nowhere near where he found it originally. You stepped back from looking over his shoulder, preparing to follow him towards another section before being taken by surprise when he pulled you into his chest and trapped you in a bear hug.
"Dude, wait-" you tried to warn, but swiftly found it too late when you felt him put the weight of his disabled leg onto you. Now there was officialy no escape. Not from him, or from the prying eyes of the public witnessing the sudden PDA.
"Freddy, stop...!" You whined, the words going muffled against his blue coat. "This is- I'm-..."
"Nobody's even looking." He sassed mildly, and though your slight anxiety told you otherwise, his words proved true as your eyes scanned over what little surroundings you could see. Not a person in sight, though someone could pass by any second...
Before you could point this out, he was rambling to you somewhat quietly, doing his best to heed your playful warning of when you had first agreed to step foot into this library with him.
"Sure, if you can keep your voice down to Darla Is Sleeping levels, we can go in."
"Harhar, you're hilarious."
And yet, despite his sarcasm, he had actually been doing good so far. You'd commend him for it later when you weren't trapped between his biceps.
"You know, what I'm doing right now is - not only super nice because I love you and all - but it's also a part of classic survival techniques. You know, huddling together for warmth so that the human body doesn't catch hypothermia and one freezes to death. Especially when one's immune system is already mildly compromised by allergies. Sound familiar?"
And before you could hit him back with a sarcastic quip or defend yourself with facts of your own, you were sneezing against him and doing your best to apologize between each one.
"Cute." Was his only amused comment.
"No, gross." You corrected, wishing you had been able to cover your mouth.
"Well, yea. But also cute, still."
You scoffed.
"You're telling me you think my allergies are cute?"
"I think everything about you is cute. But, until you're ready to accept that - and the fact that I just wanna help you - I'm not letting go."
He spoke so casually, and as much as it made you want to continue being stubborn and try to pry yourself off of him (or, more accurately, pry him off of you), you couldn't help but be reminded off all the times before where he had taken your allergies into consideration. When he opted to help you, make sure you were as comfortable as possible. Where he'd try and do anything, all sorts of grand gestures, just in the hopes that you'd feel a little better despite the symptoms of your allergies.
All in favor of treating himself, most times. Year-round...
Without further protest upon coming to such a heart-wrenching realization, you gave in, wrapping your arms around your boyfriend willingly and holding him with the need to somehow transfer all of your gratitude to him through feeling. Not really a possible feat, of course, but he knew you very well. So much so that it's almost like he knew of your intentions, swaying side to side as best he could without losing balance and cherishing your embrace.
"Thank you, Freddy."
You had planned to elaborate, like you had one time before, but he cut you off. There was no need.
"Always."
He understood.

long time no see😀...
listen, call it the fanfic writer's curse, call it life, I don't know, but a lot of really fucked shit happened while I was gone and while I am not mentally okay, I'm at a point where the very least I can do is return to my humble roots in hopes of feeling better (or distracting myself): fanfiction😌✋🏽.
nothing ever goes wrong in the land of fandom, especially when you're the one in control of everything (I love being an author😻✨️).
but anyway, yeah, as I try to get my life in order and finally make my way back to this app to do what I love, hopefully some good ol' fashioned sick-fics will up the vibe (also, crazy coinky-dink, I started writing this monthssss ago and during that time, I was sick while writing... well, guess who's currently sick AGAIN as she now finally posts this💀... prolly what I get, though lmao).

Hi! I'm the same anon that requested the "Batson and The Bat's son" imagine. I'm so glad you had fun writing it ❤️ and honestly- I can't stop rereading it 😭 words can't describe how it makes me feel (in the best way ofc!). I'm hoping it isn't too soon to be asking for a (kinda) sequel 💀 or prequel- depends on you!
Basically Billy talks about the reader to his family but he's kinda vague, since he doesn't wanna reveal too much and he knows Freddy would bombard him and her with questions if he says too much. They also haven't met the reader yet so they start joking that she's imaginary. One day the team gets themselves into a situation they can't get out of. So the reader comes in and saves them and in the heat of the moment Billy says smth like "SEE- SHE'S REAL". After he says that he has to inevitably introduce the reader to them. Idk what else I want to happen 😭 tho I trust your creative mind 🛐 pls take your time and have a good day ✨💖
Omg haii😼!! I'm so happy you enjoyed it, like, I wasn't sure how well it was going to turn out, but I think I did right by you, which is always the goal for any requester🫶🏽. Anyhow, yes, I am happy to continue your "Wonder-Daughter dates Billy" lore, I'm super into this, and I really hope you like it😙💕.

Themyscirian Girlfriend
Tumblr media
Prompt: The duties of being an "average" teenage boy are proving to be quite difficult for Billy. School, chores, being a superhero, keeping your family safe from supervillains, magic, and monsters... And, oh yeah, making sure you don't get beat up by your superhero girlfriend's best friends. OH, and make sure you don't reveal her secret identity to anyone...
That last bit is extra difficult when you have a nosy, superhero obsessed, younger-by-a-month little brother, though.

The golden light casted above the two of you dowsed your body in gold, creating an aura around your figure that Billy wished was nothing short of permanent. Not that he didn't already believe you to be a gift he had no clue how he earned. He just thought the added halo effect seemed fitting, even if it was just a result of a house/porch light that needed thorough cleaning.
"Thank you for joining me today." You spoke once he disconnected his earbuds from the jack of his phone. "I had a great time with you, as always."
"Of course! I'd never miss a chance to go out with you." He admitted, a lot quieter than his voice had previously been on the walk back to his home. But swiftly, the confidence returned as he clicked his phone off and smiled.
"Next time, I'll introduce you to some Steve Lacy."
You tilted your head while he went on in better clarification.
"He's another musician. You'll like him."
Your lips formed an 'Oh' shape as you nodded in understanding before placing a gentle kiss on his cheek and then his forehead.
"I'll see you next week, okay, Billy?"
He nodded, ignoring the heat rising through his body at your simple acts of affection. Maybe he had gotten a little used to giving it, but receiving it back was always such a hassle for his mind. Though you couldn't help but find it endearing when he'd trip and stumble over his words or be genuinely left in surprise whenever you'd reciprocate whatever love he had to offer.
But not this time, because he had focused himself on a heavier subject matter, his words catching you before you could walk away.
"Do you really have to go?"
"Hm?" You hummed in confusion, your head turning to look back at him. It was once you saw the look of forlorn glossed in his eyes that you gave him your full attention again, making your way back in front of him as he explained.
"For the week, I mean. Do you really have to go all the way back to Them... There-is... Themu...uh..."
"Themyscira?" You finished, Billy nodding at the correct pronunciation of your birthplace while you giggled.
"You can just call it Paradise Island. But, thank you for trying."
Billy nodded respectfully, almost laughing while he talked.
"Yeah, I bet it is paradise if there's more girls like you over there..."
"Huh?" You quirked a brow at his statement, Billy immediately sensing his slip-up and grasping at loose straws to fix it.
"I... I just mean, because like, I really like you and since you're from there, there's other women like you, or...your mom."
"What?!" You gasped, Billy letting out a curt sigh at his own, horrible explanation. So, he just gave up instead. It was probably for the best. Or, more accurately, in his best interest.
"I just-! I'd...! I love you, and I'd never breathe in another person's direction because nobody can compare to you...?"
"...Much better." You praised his statement that came out as more of a question waiting for your approval, giving him a playful narrow of the eyes while he gave a breath of relief.
"But, yes, I do have to return to Themyscira. I am due to compete in this year's Amazonian Olympic Games. They will determine whether or not I am worthy of my title and abilities. You, of all people, should understand this given you have a magical wizard looking out for you and your family, yes?"
"Well, yeah, but-"
"-Plus, I just..." You sighed, looking off for a moment in melancholy. "I just really want to make my mother proud. She was much younger than me when she first competed, and though she didn't win, I still have a lot to live up to since I haven't returned in nearly eight years."
Billy nodded, showing his understanding for the matter while your gaze remained glued to the porch floor beneath you.
"Are you nervous?" He asked, and almost instantly, you nodded. Hell, just thinking about the whole ordeal made the jitters appear in your stomach and hands.
"Immensely."
With a warm smile, Billy gently took both of your hands into his, cupping them so they'd stop shaking while making sure he was able to hold eye contact with you.
"Well, I just want you to remember that you'll do amazing. No matter what happens, you're still worthy to me, and you'll always have a place here. Just, y'know...be careful. And good luck; don't let them get in your head."
"Oh, Billy..." You sighed in fondess but didn't get to express any further gratitude for his kind words as he went on.
"And also, call me if something happens."
You gave him a look, one that was a clear expression of, "Do you really think we have those silly little phone-thingies on the island...?" He caught it, nodding side to side a little before re-wording.
"Send me a bird letter if anything happens. And like, seriously, be careful because I know it's probably a long trip there and back. Which reminds me, please come back soon. And-!"
"-Billy...!"
He hushed.
"...I will, don't worry yourself. I'll be careful, I'll send you bird letters, and most importantly..."
Just as you had before, but directly on his right dimple this time, you placed down a gentle kiss. A reminder and a promise.
"I love you. And I will be back as soon as I can be."
You watched in amusement at the boy in front of you beginning to grow even more bashful than before, unable to look you in the eyes for fear he'd just crumble beneath you. And honestly, neither you nor him would have it any other way. But, just to be on the safe side and make sure he didn't actually do so, you were quick to capture him in a real kiss. Billy eager to return it with a passion that was predictable yet always appreciated and matched.
"You know I have super-hearing, right...??"
The voice went echoed into the air, the same place your skirt and hair went flying at the sudden gust of wind that almost knocked the two of you over.
"The hell...?" Billy commented as he held you to keep the two of you from falling over, looking around in confusion while you merely rolled your eyes.
"Jon..." You all but murmured, and in reference to his super-hearing, he responded with another burst of speed and more echoed words.
"I'm just saying, like, are you two done now? I don't wanna hear you guys swap spit."
"Obnoxious with the use of your powers, I fear you may hardly deserve them...!! Bring yourself here so you don't have to keep listening in!" You shouted in a scolding tone before letting out a breath and shaking your head.
"Sorry. He's my ride." You both explained and apologized to Billy, the boy nodding in understanding with a slight chuckle before the two of you smiled at Jon's very fast appearance. Stopping right in between you with a quickly dispersing cloud of air behind him, he was quick to give you a joking snarl as you shot him a deadpanned glare.
"Can we go, now? I have a cerfew, too, y'know."
"Yeah, well, some of us can't fly, nor have super-speed. Consider yourself lucky."
The raven-haired boy simply shrugged, sticking his hand out towards Billy to initiate a greeting that the brunette returned with a smile.
"'Sup, Jon?"
"Nothin' much, just, y'know... saving the world. No biggie."
Billy nodded in understanding as they dapped each other up, a smug smile gracing both of their lips.
"Same, same."
"Idiots..." You sighed, unable to contain your smile at the friendship that had blossomed between the two. Damian, on the other hand... was still a work in progress, hence is absence.
It wasn't long after their brief moment of catching up that the two of you took your leave, Jon carrying you as you waved down to your boyfriend for the final time this evening, him waving back until Jon was swiftly out of sight. A loud, crashing boom of him breaking the sound barrier to follow up after that caused the front door to swing open.
"I thought I said no Shazaming in the house...?"
Billy whipped around to face Victor, thinking quickly to come up with a viable excuse.
"It wasn't me!"
Nice one, Billy.
"It was my girlfriend, she just left, like... two seconds ago."
Victor raised a brow at his son's explanation, watching as he scratched the back of his neck while continuing to ramble on.
"Well, technically, it wasn't her. She was getting a ride from someone else and he- It- Whatever, nevermind, it doesn't matter."
The man chuckled while his son slipped past him and into the house, letting out a teasing, "Girlfriend, huh? I guess that explains the..." and circling around his own face to imply something. Billy, who didn't even spare a look back, hadn't caught on upon making his way to the dining room.
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
All five of his siblings, his parents, and welcomed guest Anthea, watched as Billy shoveled spaghetti into his mouth at an ungodly rate. Which one would think would be impossible for a literal demi-god, but here they were. Alas, it's not like anyone could really blame him. It was his favorite meal, it was Rosa's cooking, and he was sick of the vegetarian meals Darla had been making for the past four days.
Although, it wasn't the main reason he was being gawked at in the moment, Freddy and Eugene the ones to be stifling laughter while the rest wanted nothing more than to tell him. It was clear he didn't realize, it was just a matter of how to approach the subject...
"Um... Billy?" Mary began gently, the teen not even looking up from his plate as he continued to eat, unknowing of his entire family's attention on him.
"You have... a little something, like, all over... your face right now." She made the same circling motion around her face as Victor had prior, not that he saw that one either. Just missing it, actually, finally looking up to notice all of the odd stares towards his seat at the table.
"Oh." Was his only reaction, setting down his fork to wipe his cheek. It gained more unseen giggles for some reason, but his only goal was to get back to eating, so natrually, he brushed then off with a curt, "Thank you, Mary." and continued is stuffing.
"No, you still..." Anne spoke aloud this time, her words trailing off when she realized she hadn't caught him in time once he started eating again.
"You just made it worse, dude." Mary giggled, having to lean her head down on the back of her hand to hide it.
"Oh." Billy spoke again, brows furrowed in the slightest while Rosa had set down her own fork. She motioned for her son to come closer, picking up a napkin and slightly dipping it into her water.
"C'mere honey, let me just wipe them for you..."
"Mom- No, stop it, I got it." He reassured, slightly embarrassed by her offer while going for his own napkin. "I'm not five."
And with one quick motion of his napkin up and down his face, it was clear to everyone but him he had simply made the situation much worse.
"There."
It drew in more laughter, this time from everyone, as he stared around the table in confusion that slowly turned into annoyance. It was like being on the outside of an inside joke, and if there was one thing he was tired of feeling in his life, it was being left out.
"What...?" He questioned, Darla the first and very eager to ask simply out of her own and pure curiosity.
"How come you got kissies all over your face?"
. . .
"...Huh...?"
Everyone burst into laughter, Billy's questioning gaze soon shifting into one of realization as he thought back. Back to moments that felt forever ago, where you had placed kisses across his face. Kisses with your lips coated in dark red lipstick...
"Oh... my god, (Y/N), why... just, why...?" He cursed your name lightly, now taking up Rosa on that offer to clean his face. Not that it mattered, his face still as dark red as the kisses that had now been wiped clean out of sheer embarrassment.
"So that's her name?" Victor pointed out, his voice and chest swelling with pride for his son's unadmitted achievement in life. Getting himself a girlfriend. "(Y/N)..."
He moved his hand across in the air as though your name were the title to an upcoming movie or a fresh take. A new and interesting topic, something this family thrived in, especially during dinnertime. And Billy, natrually, was not at all prepared and internally scolded himself for not being careful enough with his words.
It only grew more chaotic from there, Mary, Rosa, Darla, and Anthea letting out squeals loud enough to rival the TV playing in the living room as background noise.
"Billy, you never told me you had a girlfriend! Since, uh, when...?"
"Why would I ever tell you...?" Billy countered Mary's words, Darla already voicing her fantasies on merging her into the already big family.
"Her name is so pretty! Is she pretty, too? I bet she's gorgeous, like a princess! D'you think she'll play mermaid princesses with me?!"
"She must be...!" Rosa agreed swiftly with a laugh, motioning towards Billy fondly with her hand. "You saw all of the little besos she gave him. She probably thinks the same of you, Billy... My sweet boy with his own girlfriend, aww...!"
She just couldn't take it, placing a hand over her heart out of pure happiness for her son who had seemed to have finally found his love. His first one, at that. Which yes, he did, but-
"Mom, stop it, it's not that big of a deal, please..."
Not what he was thinking when you first asked him out, but whatever.
"Oh my gosh," Anne gushed, already jumping in with her own opinion to give. "With a name like that, she's bound to be amazing."
"I-" She kept going, Billy hardly even able to inhale as his siblings gushed on.
"Does she go to Fawcett, too? How come we've never seen her around?"
Freddy's scoff of a laugh caused the attention to leave Billy for a split second and move onto him, the curly-haired boy casually taking a bite from his own plate while he spoke.
"Pro'lly 'cause she ain't real..."
He jumped slightly when Anne quickly landed a slap to his arm, his mouth full and chewing as he laughed and went, "What?" Before it was his mother's turn to scold him verbally.
"Be nice, Freddy, this is probably a big deal for your brother."
Billy rolled his eyes. Not at Freddy (even though he debated kicking him under the table for his implication). But at the sudden attention he was receiving on the topic of his accidentally mentioned girlfriend. He hadn't even known whether or not if he was ready to tell them about you, let alone introducing you to them. Plus, he didn't trust himself enough not to slip up about the fact that you were Valkyrie. Or Wonder Woman's daughter. Or... both facts.
But on the other hand, he wouldn't tolerate any slander of your name, nor would he allow either of you two to become the target of any teasing from the family, so...
"Well, first of all, yes... she is real, Freddy..." Billy glared in his direction, the room going quiet at his words while he continued to clear the case of your existence up.
"And second, Darla, she is... beyond gorgeous. Like, angel levels of pretty, it's unbelievable."
"Wow!!" Darla squealed in excitement as Freddy gave a small tilt of his head to the side.
"Unbelievable, wow, you don't say?"
But nobody heard, too focused on the description of your person and enthralled with just the way he did it. Full of passion and care they hadn't even realized the boy possessed for anyone outside of the family, let alone a girl. A love that couldn't be replicated or replaced, something that'd make you glow red if you had been in the room to hear it.
"She's got this amazing hair that frames her face perfectly, and she wears glasses, but when she takes them off, you can see how, like... just wow her eyes are. They remind me of a type of jewel or something because they literally sparkle when she's happy or are firey with determination when she's- uh... doing something that requires a lot of focus.
Her entire face is just something I can't stop looking at, and gosh, that girl is... her body is-..." He coughed. "She's a little bit taller than me, so... yeah..."
"And you just... never thought to maybe bring her over? Y'know, just 'cause..." Freddy shrugged, holding back his complacent tone as Eugene bobbed his head in agreement.
"And, let me guess, she texts you all the time, and you go on walks around the park together every Saturday."
At their back-to-back quips and hushed laughter, Billy shot them a scowl as Rosa began to nod in oblivious agreement.
"Yeah, sweetie, why don't you invite her over for dinner tomorrow night? It's a Friday, after all. You can tell her we'd love to meet her."
With a chorus of agreements settling consternation into his chest, he blurted out a slew of excuses as he waved his hand up and down as if to brush the idea of you coming over away.
"Nah, no, that's... she- We already have a lot of people here, she might get... overwhelmed! Yeah. And, y'know, it's just not a good idea."
"And whyyy not?" Freddy pushed, leaning against the open palm of his hand while feigning an affable smile and forcing his brows to jump up and down in silent suggestion.
"She's busy." Was his simple statement, Eugene following up on his claim in an instant.
"Busy doinggg...?"
"...Work." He filled in the blank awkwardly, practically squirming in his seat at the expecting silence. He conjured up some of your favorite hobbies in his mind, anything as far away from superhero work as possible, so he could word it as some type of job that you "have".
"She works as a (Favorite/Hobby), and she's probably gonna' be, like, swamped with stuff to do, so... tomorrow wouldn't work."
"Oh, how wonderful!" Rosa praised, impressed by your skills and interests. "We'll certainly have to make time for her over the weekend or next week then!"
"She can't. She'll be busy all week, too."
"Natrually..." Freddy poked with a theatrical eye roll and a closed-mouth grin. "She must be on the 'twenty-four-seven, forever' shift, which I'd expect from a girl with an imaginary sense of work-life balance."
"Harhar, you're hilarious." Billy mocked, now going through with his actions to send his brother a kick to the shin under the table.
"She's actually going to-...on...uh..." He had to stop himself. What would've been a smug brag about you visiting Paradise Island, becoming a realization that would just throw you under the bus. Plus, it's a lot more unbelievable than everything he had said so far. As much joy as it would bring Billy to rub a trip to Themyscria in his face, he'd just have to make Freddy jealous another time. Besides, he didn't necessarily have to lie. He could just not tell them the full story.
It wasn't a lie if he never told them otherwise to begin with.
"She's going on vacation. With her mother. So, she's gonna' be gone for the rest of the week."
"Oh, really?" Mary piped up out of genuine curiosity, having always wanted to travel herself. "Where's she going?"
. . .
"Out of the country."
"Oh."
"How convenient!" Eugene chirped while he slid his phone towards Billy, as if he were telling him to go ahead and prove it. "Why not just FaceTime her, then? You know, just check in like any good boyfriend should? Maybe even shoot her a little text."
"I can't do that!" Billy exclaimed. "I wouldn't wanna bother her or be rude or anything. She's- it's a... mother-daughter bonding thing, it's different. Hard to explain."
In a sense, that could also be construed as truth, considering you'd be competing in an Olympic event, racing and fighting against others and the elements to both claim and prove your status. Something that would ideally make your mother very proud. Billy himself didn't even one-hundred percent understand the whole event, so it was right for one to assume that he probably would have trouble explaining it to his family. Should he ever have to, of course.
Good thing he won't.
A silence loomed over the family as Billy loosely twirled his spaghetti around his fork. He'd almost be grateful for it if it weren't so uncomfortable. He was sick of being pressed about you, not that he wouldn't take any chance to show you off otherwise. And if it wasn't that, he was annoyed at the way Freddy and Eugene didn't seem to even believe you were real, Mary and Anne able to sense this as they gave each other an unsure look.
"Uhm, well..." The goddess coughed, playing with the hem of her (Freddy's) sweater. "How'd you two meet?"
Finally! Something Billy knew the proper answer to!
"Oh, we were-"
Ohp-. Wait, nevermind. No he didn't.
You two were saving the world when you first met, battling a beast that wasn't even real because it turned out to be a test? He didn't know the details of that dilemma very well, either. All he could remember fondly was the way you looked at him when he accidentally revealed himself. Warm and promising, full of care and will-power that he'd been drawn to ever since.
The same look you gave him when you asked him out on that very first date, where he-
Oh, great idea...!
"At an ice cream shop. I was at an ice cream shop, and that's where I met her. She had never had any before, and so I suggested she start off with something simple, like vanilla. I bought some for her and we spent the rest of the afternoon together. We've been going out ever since."
"Awww~!" Rosa and Anne chorused, Freddy already calling nonsense at the story with a few chuckles hidden behind his hand.
"Wait, so... lemme' get this straight..."
"Frederick..." Anne warned with his full name. He ignored (and he'd be apologizing for it later, no doubt).
"You mean to tell me, this girl has never had ice cream before? Like, in her seventeen-to-eighteen years of life, she had never had one singular scoop of frozen milk and sugar?"
"Dude-"
"-Nevermind the fact that you just, outta' nowhere, decided to rizz up some random girl you didn't even know inside of an ice cream parlor."
"Yeah, Freddy, I did." Billy snapped, waving his hand around in the air for a moment as if he were magically conjuring up the false memory. "And apparently, it all worked out because we've been dating for months, now. Thank you very much."
Jaws dropped at this, having not expected such a bond. It was one thing for Billy to have started a fresh relationship. Maybe for him to even be a little secretive about it until things had proven to be smooth sailing for a long time. But months? Either he forgot to brag about it, or she most definitely didn't exist.
Freddy and Anne almost immediately turned to give each other a knowing look, as if they were reading each other's minds before speaking in unison.
"Is this like a Canadian girlfriend thing...?"
Billy huffed through his nose, knowing better than to let insults fly at the dinnertable with his parents present. But regardless of that fact, Mary was the first to tell he had grown fed up, nudging Victor on the arm while she murmured.
"Here we go again..."
"She's real, okay? (Y/N) is very much real, and you two are just jealous because it took an entire dragon rising from the depths of hell for you two to get together."
And off he went, storming away, leaving Freddy and Anthea's mouths agape in shock while Pedro and Eugene practically sobbed from their loud chortles.
"Do you think he'll come back this time if I call him?" Victor cheesed, Mary shaking her hide from side to side at his reference from the last time Freddy had pissed Billy off at the table. Speaking of which...
"Alright, yeah, whatever...!" He called as if the older boy was still listening. "At least we can all actually see my girlfriend...!"
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"Is it her?"
Though Freddy's index finger was very obviously directed towards a young girl in the hallway, his brown eyes remained glued to Billy's green ones, waiting for them to change in recognition. They didn't, remaining as stoic as they had when Freddy first began this little game of "Point Out The Person That Looks Closest To Billy's Imaginary Girlfriend."
"No."
"Okay, then it's her." Freddy suggested next, his arm practically flying across Anthea's person just to point his finger at the girl they waltzed past. Billy swore that if the poor thing wasn't in between them, he'd tackle Freddy to he ground, in the middle of the hallway and all. So, maybe it was a good thing Anthea was there.
Billy's eyes drifted to the next victim, a short girl with scene hair and huge platform demonias that stared them down in confusion. He quickly shook his head.
"No, it's not her. (Y/N) is way taller than her. Genetically, without platforms."
"Fine, what about her?" Freddy waved lazily in the direction of someone ahead. "She looks like your type."
Billy huffed.
"That's literally just a guy with long hair."
Freddy's face twisted in disbelief, shaking his head as though he knew better.
"No it isn-"
"It is." Anthea cut in before her boyfriend could finish, turning him towards the person who had finally spun away from his friend and proving to Freddy that he was, in fact, just some dude with a gorgeous head of hair.
"Oh. Mm-."
"Can you just-?" Billy started a desperate plea that went ignored as Freddy smiled in satisfactory, spotting the next girl. Who, yes, was actually a girl this time.
"What about her? Look, she's even how you described, glasses, tall, (Your/Feature), the whole shaza-...shebang..."
Billy hardly wanted to entertain this any longer, but upon looking her direction, noticed swiftly how oddly her features did line up to yours. And yet...
"No, that's not her. I told you already last night, (Y/N) doesn't go here. She's... homeschooled." He excused, quite proud of how fast he had come up with it. Plus, it was kind of true, Diana the one who had taught you most of your studies. And when not her, a private tutor Bruce had graciously spent his money on for you to have.
Yes, the Bruce Wayne.
"Oh, of course. What an awesome coincidence."
"Freddy, stop it." Anthea nudged him, not allowing the teasing to continue any further upon seeing the scowl from last night returning onto Billy's face.
"I'm sure he's probably telling the truth, I mean, what reason would he have to lie? Besides, she's probably just...shy. Maybe she's shy."
And though the girl was satisfied with her answer, Billy could only laugh giddily to himself while remembering the time you had allowed him to watch a very special training session you had in the past.
"Yeah, if you call accidentally bodyslamming Superman "shy," then sure. Most timid girl I know..."
"What was that?"
"Nothing...!" He brushed his remark away when he had almost been caught, quick to change the subject before he could be questioned any further.
"Guys, look, just drop it, alright? I know you don't believe me, and you know what? I don't care anymore. I'm happy, outside of the fact that you're really working my nerves, and that's all that matters. I'll see you two later..."
"Billy, hang on...!" Anthea called, having not meant to cause a fuss on the matter. She couldn't help it. She was entirely too good-natured. But, there was Freddy, always there to ease her own tensions and make her laugh in the process.
"Agh, don't worry about him. He'll get over it. You know, the imaginary girlfriend thing is a common phase, cited by phenomenons all across the globe of people with the exact same conditions and symptoms. Lois Lane even wrote an article on it way-back-when she was first starting out."
"Oh, yeah?" Anthea entertained smugly, Freddy nodding fastly as he droned on.
"Totally. It was a very interesting article, but it made total sense. I mean, even I went through a phase just like it, and I turned out fine."
"Oh?"
And then it clicked, Freddy's face growing a deep shade of red under his freckles.
"Yea- Only when I was like, super tiny-young, I mean. Like, it was- I..."
His rambles stopped when he noticed Anthea's raised brow, almost laughing to himself while they paused in front of her classroom door.
"Just...forget I told you that. I love you my very much, my real and amazing girlfriend. I swear, my pillo- I mean, Jennifer was just a quick fling and nothing compared to the goddess that stands in front of me...?"
Through her giggles, she nodded, pressing a kiss to his cheek and taking her leave.
"That's what I like to hear~. Now, don't go off 'saying the word' while I'm gone, 'kay?"
Freddy nodded at her parting heed, knowing it was a reference to the way he'd ditch class to go off and do hero work without warning.
"I won't, I won't...!"
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"SHAZAM!"
"Alright, what's the plan?!" Freddy shouted as they all gawked up towards the threat, Billy shrugging casually while he shook his head as though he were literally wracking his brain for a proposal.
"Uhh...Ahhh... No idea! I think we should just wing it, to be honest...!"
"That's a terrible plan!!" Mary and Anthea shouted in unison, the shorter girl using magic to cloak over herself and change into her armored attire.
"Superman's weakness is Kryptonite, right?!" Mary swiftly informed the group, Freddy nodding in confirmation. "Good! If Bizzaro is anything like him, it should be the same! If we can distract him long enough for one of us to catch him from behind, we'll have a chance at detaining him! Then, we can send him back to his world...!"
"Yes, awesome, Wisdom of Salamander...!" Billy praised, leaving all of his siblings to groan.
"Solomon...!"
"Whatever...!!"
And with that, they put her plan into action, Freddy and Pedro flying up high until they were facing the Kryptonian clone with complacent, challening grins.
"Hey, Bizarro-Man...!!" Freddy called, nudging Pedro. "Since you're a copy of Superman, is it really true you have super strength like him?! Betcha' we could take you in a fight...!"
The villain merely scoweld, sending a sudden breath of flame towards them. Freddy dodged, Pedro just missing his chance to do the same before being his with the blast and being sent flying into the nearest billboard.
"...Fire breathing?! You can breathe fire?!" Freddy yelled in a panic, unable to add on how that was very much unlike Superman's notable ability of freeze breath before realizing Bizarro was barreling straight for him. Freddy took off, both of their super speed rivaling each other as he crated a path for his siblings to follow.
"Where are we gonna' get Kryptonite?" Darla gasped, all of their heads turning as the two flew by. Mary pondered the situation deeply, having never even seen the green emerald herself, let alone come into contact with it. She figured it was a lost artifact, a gem only the most powerful would have. Except for Superman, all things considered. So maybe more like magical powerful people.
People like...
"The Wizard!" She shouted. "He's the most powerful person we know, having kept all of his powerful objects in his lair, right?"
"Yeah," Billy agreed. "But what does he have to do with anything? He's not the-"
"I know, but the lair is ours, now!" She explained further. "Which means so are all of the things in it!"
"But-!"
"Anthea, Darla...! Go help Freddy and make sure to keep Bizarro busy! Eugene, go help Pedro, make sure he's alright!"
"On it!" Anthea gave Mary a nod, Darla having already dashed away as Eugene made his way towards his brother.
"Billy, you come with me, hurry...!" Mary instructed, grabbing his wrist and practically dragging him along as he followed in confusion.
"Mary, where are we going?! This is really not a good time to ditch them, we-!"
"We're not ditching them." She insisted, opening a random shop door with the intention for it to open a portal to the Rock of Eternity. And luckily, it did just that as she went on with a rapid explanation for her actions.
"You know how Eugene has been mapping the place out? Well, I've been helping him. Mainly making sure he doesn't get lost, but also because I've been studying it all. Making sure we know that everything that's in there is actually safe."
They wandered past the main part of the lair, the area where everything had been decorated freely and most obviously lived in, to the more labrynth-like parts that always confused Billy and Darla whenever they tried their own hands at exploring. But this time, Mary was there to lead him, having a clear sense of direction seeking out whatever it was she was searching for.
"We came across this space or...cave or something. Like a mine, y'know? And at first, I wasn't sure what was in it. Neither of us were, I mean, I couldn't find any of them in any books or articles. It's like... all the gems that are in that cave aren't from here or something. From another world."
"Mary, this really is some interesting stuff, but I don't get wh- woah..."
Billy's rambles were cut short, the two siblings having stopped in front of the very cavern Mary described. The entrance was glowing due to all of the luminous crystals buried off inside of it. Hell, the cave itself seemed neverending, branching off into different routes, holes, and other tunnel systems that were surely easy to get lost in.
Luckily, they didn't need to go too far in, Mary stopping Billy from doing so with the tug of his arm back closer to her person. She was slightly bent over, hovering above a large chunk of what he assumed to be an emerald. Practically matching the color of his eyes, they both sparkled at one another while Mary began to confess her opinions.
"I can't believe I hadn't thought of it before, but if my assumption is correct...if these are otherworldly artifacts...then I don't know what else this could be, other than-"
"Kryptonite..." Billy finished, turning towards his sister with an ecstatic grin. "Mary, you genius, you! Here, c'mon, help me get this stuff out of the wall...!"
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"Where the hell is Mary with that Kryptonite...?!" Freddy whined in an almost sing-song tone, blasting a continuous bolt of lightning directly at Bizzaro. It had no effect, merely slowing him down by a second until Darla, Pedro, and Eugene all joined in. And though it didn't hurt him, he was stuck in his tracks, trying his hardest to deflect it.
"She said she had an idea...!" Darla grunted. "But I dunno' what! She just took Billy back to the lair and- AAH!!"
Bizzaro had used all of his strength to blast the lightning back, sending the group soaring backward at the impact. As he began to stalk closer towards Darla, Eugene was quick to jump in the way with a protective, "No!" leaving his lips.
A bolt of lighting shot from his hands, Bizzaro quick to blast it with-
"Freeze...eyes...?"
The beam of icy blue turned Eugene's lighting into a solid rod of frozen air, the large block dropping to the ground and shattering beneath their feet. Freddy had... never seen a power like that before. It confused him, all of them, long enough to be a stall as Bizzaro quickly let off another beam towards them.
"Watch out...!!" Anthea warned, quickly hopping in the way with her hands out. Her palms glowed, swirling with golden power until the buildings and structures around them began to move and shift rapidly. Power of Axis, always a helpful tool in changing perspective, but not in changing the course of a blow to its intended target. Given the girl had learned this fact the hard way in the past, she was quick to turn to them in haste.
"We have to move, hurry! If we don't, we'll still get hit!"
Almost as if on cue, they watched the blast of ice cold vision barrelled towards them through a park, just barely missing all of the different play structures as the group swiftly managed to fly off in different directions. Freddy was sure to take Anthea in his arms, watching as the beam instead left a jungle gym frozen solid into a dome.
"Guys...!!"
Looking towards the voice, they were happy to spot Mary and Billy flying back towards them with a glowing, green gem in hand.
"No way-No way-No way!!" Freddy gushed as they approached, showing it off with pride. "You two actually found Kryptonite?! Do you know how rare this is?! Like, it's literally thought to be a myth, like, it's more believable than your imaginary girlfriend...!"
"Oh my god..." Billy groaned as the rest giggled. "C'mon, man, it's been like a week!"
"I'm being totally serious!" Freddy held his hands up as though he were giving surrender while Billy shook his head in dismay.
Mary sighed, floating in between the two boys with the gem in hand.
"Not the time, guys. Look, if we can keep Bizzaro distracted for just a little longer, this should definitely do the trick. We got this."
She held out her fist towards Billy, sending him a sure smile.
"You ready?"
"Yeah," he nodded, giving a smirk of his own before scanning the land beneath for their foe. He bumped her fist back. "Let's kick this dude's ass."
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"Dude, we're getting our asses kicked...!!" Eugene grunted, struggling to pick himself up from the ground as he clutched his side.
"It's like he's more powerful than before!" Anthea alluded, wiping the blood from her lip as she helped Mary from the ground and onto her shoulder.
"I don't... understand..." She coughed, grateful for the support as she looked up to her two brothers, trying their best to subdue Bizzaro hand-to-hand.
"The Kryptonite should be working. It should...be making him weaker."
"Maybe it isn't what you thought it was..." Darla whimpered, sending her sister a look of vanquish.
Billy watched as Bizzaro landed a blow onto Freddy's chest, the man in blue being sent flying back into the earth with a loud yelp and a crash. He wanted to call for him but reminded himself to focus on the battle at hand if there would be any chance of defeat. Even if he was scared, as much as he didn't want to admit it.
You'd be scared, too, if some weird copy of Superman was hurdling towards you, Kryptonite wedged into his bleeding shoulder (blue blood, which was quite jarring when they first stabbed him) with some obtuse goal to destroy the world he deemed "lesser" than his own.
Because of this, he'd frozen up, unsure of how to counter his speed let alone his attack. Instead, he took it like a champ, as he had many punches even before he was a superhero, and went hurdling towards the ground just as Freddy had.
"Oh. Hey, man..." Freddy groaned when his brother appeared next to him.
"Having fun, yet?" Billy haphazardly joked, referring to Freddy's "love" and "enjoyment" for his "superhero duties."
"Oh, yeah, loads." He nodded unconvincingly, wiping the blood from his nose with his arm. "I love the smell of iron in the morning. And, y'know- the sounds of terror and destruction really just...pull it all together."
They helped each other up, checking themselves for any fatal injuries. And, when they found none, regrouped with the rest of their family in doldrums as they watched Bizzaro inflict his reign of dismantling on the city.
"What're we gonna do?" Darla asked, looking to her brother in worry.
"Your realm is not capable of destroying power such as this. How are we to do the same?"
Anthea's words had been directed towards Freddy but left Billy's mind swirling instead. Was she right? She had to be...
If the Champions of Magic and an entire goddess couldn't decide the fate of their opponents on the battlefield, who could?
. . .
Their heads whipped up at the sound of a furious battle cry, a shimmer of gold and the quick blur of your (H/C) locks barreling towards the enemy. Your sword drawn and in position to leave its target slain as you attacked from above, a ferocious look on your face for none other than the mockery of hope and justice below you.
When your weapon made contact, you knew better than to think it'd actually cut through Bizarro. But, it did send him hurdling towards the dirt as he had Freddy and Billy moments earlier. You had cut a large chunk of the green Kryptonite from his shoulder, dimming him back to his normal level of powerful abilities. And yet, you knew this wasn't the end, much more work to be done as you announced your threat.
"My mother and her colleagues have defeated you once, and you dare to return to this world and cause its people pain and anguish once again?!" Your booming scolds might've reminded someone that of a parent, pointing your sword below you at Bizzaro's stunned figure.
"How dare you have such audacity?! Let it be known I will not allow you to do so, and you will now fall by my hand, even if it kills me!"
"Valkyrie?!" - "(Y/N)?!"
Both of your aliases spoken into the air at the same time, yet it was Billy who wanted to slap himself after being the only one to have said your real name rather than your well-known, hero one. He even tried to ignore the looks his siblings (and Anthea) gave him, pure shock just oozing from their figures.
"That's (Y/N)?!" Mary shouted in bafflement.
"She's real?!" Freddy's tone of incredulity made Billy's eyes roll for a split second.
Not alloted any time for anyone to question or answer further, your head whipped back, you're firey (E/C) eyes glaring deeply into Billy's.
"You...!" You bellowed menacingly, and suddenly, he was a lot less excited to see you.
"Wha-?! Are you-? Oh...my gosh, are you mad at me right now?..."
From a bystander's point of view, it definitely looked a little silly, your shorter and younger appearing figure stomping towards this grown adult man, who was fearfully stumbling back away from you as you approached with anger. His face was dowsed in fear, and yours?
Where to begin...
"I leave you on your lonesome to protect your people for a week! A week! And this is what I'm fated to return to?! Do you even know what it is you've done allowing him to remain in such close proximity to green Kryptonite?!"
"I- Uh...Well, technically, it wasn't even really my idea, 'cause-"
"William."
You seethed his full name, cutting off his excuses, which consisted of throwing his older sister under the bus. She thanked whatever God above for that one, not even having been in your presence for a mere two minutes, and was terrified of your wrath.
The groan of Bizzaro rising from the dirt stopped the rest of your reprimands, leaving you the sigh in simple vexation before pointing a finger at your incautious lover.
"I will deal with you later."
A silence passed over as you leaped into action, everyone still left a bit shaken at everything you had to offer so far. Including Billy, even though all he could muster up was a quiet, "I told you she was real..."
"That's your girlfriend?!" Freddy nearly exploded. "Valkyrie is your girlfriend?! Dude, I-...! You-! You do know she's Wonder Woman's whole ass daughter, right?! How the fu-?!"
"-Clearly...!" Mary interrupted loudly before he could heavily cuss around Darla. "He's got a type!"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever!" Billy exclaimed, already beginning to hover above the ground in hopes to aid his girlfriend. "It doesn't matter right now. We have to help her, c'mon!"
It was once Anthea and the Champions joined the fight, Bizzaro was left with a slim chance of winning. Especially without the enhancement of that same green jewel that always seemed to leave Superman weakened and withered. Mary was still lost on such fact, and Freddy was searching his mind for any possibility of how that could be so.
"I don't get it!" He finally wailed, exhausted from the fight and from using his brain overtime. "He's just like Superman, almost...! If he's such a copy, then how come none of our plans are working?!"
"That is because he is not a copy." You stated plainly, no evidence of normalcy left in your voice. What was left was that of a warrior. A warrior thick in the ways of battle and strategy, knowing your enemy much more than your allies seemed to.
"He is a mirror. Bizzaro, El-Kal, is from a twisted world he created. Everything there, including himself, is some backwards nuisance of what we're so used to here on our planet."
"Hold...Hold'up..." Eugene paused, unable to believe the information being told to him. "This guy's is from another planet just like ours?"
"Yes and no. His world resembles ours, but it is not. It is cubed shaped and docile, with a blue sun that amplifies El-Kal's strength. Much like how this earth's yellow sun aids Superman's. Kal-El."
"Ohh, ha, that's funny, I get it." Freddy chuckled. "It's all backwards over there, so Kal-El is...yeah, that's...that's bad..."
"Well," you smirked, the first and only hint of positivity you had exuded from your person since you had arrived. "Not all bad."
From the latchel which normally held your Lasso of Truth (well, a more miniature one, technically, because your mother wouldn't dare give up her own), was a medium-sized vile of blue liquid clipped in its place. You unhooked it carefully, showing it off to the group as your smirk stretched into a satisfied grin.
"What are the great and powerful without their weaknesses? Blue Kryptonite, liquefied. When I first arrived home this morning, I had seen the news. Trouble here in the heart of Philidelphia, and I immediately recognized that... that..."
"That dumbass question mark on his chest?" Billy spoke up for you. In much more vulgar terms, sure, but you couldn't help but agree with an admitting nod.
"Yes, precisely. I knew what he was capable of, and I knew that you all more than likely didn't have the proper contingencies to stop him. So, I asked Damian for a favor..."
Freddy leaned in towards Billy, putting a hand up as if it'd conceal his bad whispers.
"Who's Damian?"
"Don't worry about it." Billy ignored, slapping him away lightly as you finished.
"...With this, we will surely defeat Bizarro. I can detain him, and I will convince him to leave this world in peace once again."
You opened the vile, neon blue smoke immediately pouring from it like dry-freeze until you began to dump some of the contents onto the blade of your sword.
"All I need for you all to do, is keep him busy. Until then, hold out your hands..."
They all did as told, watching as the rest of the liquid went dumped into their palms while you explained such actions.
"Should any of you come into physical combat with him, your touch will now weaken him, leaving him vulnerable. Easier to take down."
"And what about you?" Billy asked, his tone laced with worry for your well-being. Your gaze softened as you moved closer, hardly used to having to look up at him. But, you could admit, you found it a nice change of pace as you reached up to hold his face in your palm.
"I will do what I have to. Don't worry about me, okay?"
"That's literally impossible, but okay."
You chuckled.
"Fair. Your only job is to make sure all goes well. And... don't make anymore 'dumbass' decisions. You keep that green Kryptonite away from Bizzaro."
Billy nodded, laughing at your use of his improper language before floating upwards to complete his task.
"Alright, guys...!" He called down, his siblings following in suite while you motioned Anthea to remain with you at ground levels.
"Let's kick this guy's ass. For real this time, though."
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"Who is that?!" Rosa shouted as she stared at her TV in horror, scared for her superhero children tackling the evil Superman imposter with some random girl who had just shown up, as any mother would be.
Almost as soon as Victor moved to grab the keys for his van, the front door opened and in waltzed their children. Like ducks in a row, Mary, Pedro, Eugene, Darla, Freddy, Anthea, Billy, and-... ??
"Hi, mom!"
"Hey, Ma!"
"Hi, Mommy!"
"'Sup, Dad?"
The choruses of their greetings eased their nerves and tensions, but the sight of a new girl with glasses and her hair in a fancy, braided updo took them by surprise. She remained close to Billy, seemingly glued to his arm as he quietly attempted to convince her of the kind nature of his parents.
"Are you sure? I don't want to impose if it's trouble..."
"(Y/N), don't worry. They've been wanting to meet you for forever, you have nothing to worry about. They'll love you."
You looked towards him in surprise, already growing more anxious by the second.
"You told them about me?"
"Only the important stuff." He winked jokingly.
"Ah! My babies...!" Rosa shouted her greeting, more grateful than ever that they had returned safely, running over and planting a kiss on each one of their foreheads and pulling Darla and Anthea into bone crushing hugs.
So...! Uh," Victor started, already interested in your figure remaining quiet by the door. "Who's the new girl?"
Billy smiled this time, neither embarrassed nor annoyed by the inquiry of you while he proudly pulled your body into his by the waist.
"She's-"
"She's the coolest, ever!" Freddy announced, Darla practically jumping up and down as she agreed.
"Uh huh! And she's so pretty, just like I knew she'd be!"
"She literally sent that supervillain back to where he came from...! Like, without even breaking a sweat!" Eugene praised, leaving your cheeks to grow red with bashfulness.
"I have to admit, I think she'd be a good influence on Billy. She's super smart."
"And a good fighter."
Mary and Anthea were happy to admit such facts, Pedro the last to give a reserved shrug and a polite smile.
"I like her. She's dope."
Rosa and Victor were left to stand awkwardly, unsure of what to make of all the high-end words being spewed about like lightning while you struggled to fight back your grin.
"As I was saying...!" Billy exclaimed, giving his siblings the "Shut Up So I Can Talk" look. "This is (Y/N). My girlfriend."
Victor was the first to happily greet you, explaining how he'd heard so much about you, all good things (as you could clearly see), and that he was happy to have finally met you. Rosa, on the other hand, was leaned back with her eyes glued to the news on the TV. They would flicker back to you every now and again, making your heart beat faster in nerves until...
"Crazy question, I know... but...that doesn't happen to be you on the news... yeah?"
Immediately, you looked towards Billy, who could only shrug and scratch the back of his neck.
"The important stuff, huh?"
"Sorry...I tried..."
You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose before giving a polite nod and announcing your introduction one final time...
"Yes, that... would be me. My name is (Y/N), otherwise known as Valkyrie. Daughter of Wonder Woman, Granddaughter of Zeus, and last born... of Themyscria."

       "Freddyyyy...! . . . Oh shit-..."
What at first was a joyful call upon bursting into his room, it quickly cut off into a quiet murmur, your (E/C) eyes landing on, not only the curly-head you had near scared to death, but another boy standing beside him. The room went silent, you tucking in your lips awkwardly to hold back an amused grin at their blank stares of confusion.
       "Uhm-"
"Dude, how did you even get in here...?!" Freddy laughed suddenly and wildly, a grin stretching onto his face when you further shuffled into the room.
"Duh, I broke in." You joked, your gaze shifting between your best friend and the mystery kid. "What about him? Is he about to rob the place, too?"
Freddy watched you, both of your eyes playful as you pretended to pick-pocket small trinkets from his desk and into your pockets.
       "Nah, he's new."
Your jesting intent vanished into a look of surprise, having known exactly what his words meant.
"(Y/N), this is Billy! I'm sure he'd gladly shake your hand, but he barely talks, so, I dunno."
Billy swiftly rolled his green eyes at the statement, and immediately, you couldn't help but dislike his presenting attitude. How could anyone remain so hostile with Freddy around? He was sweet and kind, funny, and always aiming to please. There was no need for anyone to be rude to him.
Not that it really stopped the Breyers, but, not the point.
You simply just couldn't fathom why anyone would find him annoying or...whatever! Not when you had been around the boy since the sixth grade. Not when he was so gentle and understanding, an amazing drawer with such cool hobbies and interests. Did you already mention sweet and kind? Not when he had the biggest, coffee-brown eyes and the most adorable pattern of freckles. The craziest laugh that always made you cackle ten times harder. The cutest nose, the softest looking lips...
"Why...why is she literally about to explode?"
       "Pfft-"
Freddy snorted at Billy's murmured observation, leaving it now your turn to roll your eyes. Even so, you truly couldn't hide the deep blush as you desperately tried to cease the shaking in your hands. Freddy noticed this, keeping his true thoughts to himself while he watched you wipe the sweat away on the denim of your jeans and finally offer a polite hand to Billy.
He wondered why you blushed so hard all of the sudden, why your hands shook the moment you had been introduced to a kid you barely even knew. Hell, that he barely even knew! It was odd, seeing as you were never like that with him or anyone else you both mutually knew.
He had only ever seen you this way about some random celebrity you liked. About...-
"Y’know, your features kind of remind me of Jacob Elordi."
Billy's brows furrowed a bit at your comment, reluctantly taking your hand only to soon regret it.
       "...Who?"
'Oh god...' Freddy thought, annoyed with the fact he had not only been indirectly friend-zoned (for the millionth time), but was also now faced with possible competition.
"Oh god...!" Freddy then let out exasperatingly, tipping his head back before placing himself right back into his desk chair. "Don't get her started, man. She's never gonna sto-"
"-Hush!" You quickly interjected, before doing just that. "He's this actor from this show I like called Euphoria! You both kinda got the whole brown hair, green eyes thing going on, and you both have kinda prominent noses!"
"I..." Billy started, but you hadn't heard, lost in your own thoughts and observations.
"But he's a lot taller. And your eyes are a little more upturned. And you have dimples, which, I don't think he does. And your jaw is a lot more square. And-!"
"-I don't know who you're talking about." Billy cut in plainly. "And you can let go of my hand now."
Your brows knitted for a moment. Both at his bluntness and his statement before looking down and realizing you truly had been subconsciously shaking the boy's hand throughout your entire rant.
"Oh shit..." You mumbled again, swiftly pulling away and cursing it when you felt your cheeks grow hot a second time in embarrassment.
       "Sorry..."
"Yeah..." And with that, he gave one last glance around the entire room before pushing the strap of his backpack further up his shoulder.
       "Bathroom?"
"Second door to your right." You and Freddy jinxed, sending each other the slightest of smiles at the coincidence while Billy was already halfway out of the door.
       "Thanks..."
You finally let out the huff of air you hadn't realized you were hanging onto, moving towards Freddy's bottom bunk and pulling his pillow into your lap as you sat.
       "Well...he's a real charmer, isn't he?"
"Yeah, he's not been told very many jokes." Was Freddy's quick response to your sarcasm. You were swift to dish out more, though, always able to match the boy's energy the longer you had been with him.
"Mm. Maybe you're just not funny."
"Augh-!" He gasped/scoffed, pressing a hand to his heart in deep offense. You gave an innocent shrug, giggling at him as he made attempts to defend himself.
"I quite literally am the most funniest person you will ever meet, (N/N). I-I can't even believe you just said what you just said-"
"-Ryan Reynolds."
"Like, I- Hm..." Freddy quit mid-rant, nodding slowly with a point in your direction as if to give you props for your suggestion.
"Okay, second. Second most funniest. But you can't deny that I am funny, I mean, you laugh at all of my jokes!"
Against your will, it seemed, you found yourself giggling as you shook your head. Freddy nodding his faster while he struck out a hand exaggeratingly.
"See?! See?! Look at you, giggling away as if I'm just...just some clown sitting here for your amusement."
"God, Freddy...!" You cackled, having burst into real laughter that Freddy couldn't help but find himself admiring. A light pink even dusted behind his freckles, his heart speeding up once having accomplished bringing a genuine laugh out of you. He heard it damn near everyday, of course, but it never seemed to get old. It was why he was the tiniest bit sad to see it go upon watching your bury your face into his pillow to hide it.
It didn't last long, though, giggling himself when he saw you kick your feet furiously like a child to subdue your contagious laughter. What he couldn't see was the sudden scent you took in when you were finally able to gather yourself, forest pine meeting your nose with quick familiarty and comfort. Your own heart began to race, almost wanting to take another whiff while another hot flash began to set in. But, knowing it'd be too obvious, you decided against it and reluctantly lifted your head back up along with a comment that made Freddy roll his eyes at you.
"He did remind me of Jacob Elordi, though."
       "Ugh...!"
"What?!" You gasped in offense at his groan. "Dude, he's cute! Let me like who I like...!"
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
Your words had rang through the boy's head all night long, early into the morning soon after he woke up, and even now during lunch as he made his way through the school halls and amidst the crowd of students going the same direction.
'...And your eyes are a little more upturned. And you have dimples! And more of a square jaw...'
'Let me like who I like!'
       'Maybe you're just not funny.'
       'Dude, he's cute!'
       'He's cute!'
       'He's cute!'
'Who's cute?!' Freddy thought, shaking his head as if he were speaking aloud. 'Was she talking about Billy or Jacob?'
He prayed it was Jacob because at least then, Freddy had a chance. A celebrity living millions of miles away, way too old for you...
Yeah. That's right. Freddy had done his research. A long time ago at that, leading him to believe that he most certainly had him beat.
For starters, he was here in Fawcett City with you, so...
But Freddy deeply didn't think his heart could take it if you were talking about Billy, who had already proven himself the 'cool and collected', 'bad boy' type. And, from other prior research, girls tend to aim for that a lot more than some goofy nerd with a crutch...
The scene he came upon further proved his point, having made it through the cafeteria doors and instantly caught sight of you and Billy sitting together. A smirk tugged at his lips, watching yet hardly listening to you rant on and on and on about who-knew-what. Billy was amused at your lack of awareness for his own lack of care, but the interaction looked all too different to Freddy, who continued to watch from a distance as he grabbed his food.
The lunch line inched forward unbearably slow, but it gave the freckled-faced boy enough time to further assess the situation. Trying not to make it obvious he was staring, only to whip his head back if and when he thought he heard your laugh. Tucking in his lips while just simply imagining the cocky or charming things he was spewing to possibly win you over.
He felt a little selfish at first, but...Freddy had to put a stop to it before it could progress any further.
       "Flight or invisibility...?!"
You jumped at the sudden voice of your best friend, the boy slamming his plastic tray of school food onto the table and squeezing a chair in between yours and Billy's.
"Oh gosh..." You sighed, already prepared for the series of information about to come next. Billy, for obvious reasons, was not. His smirk never faltered, but the confusion was still quite clear as he gave a curt, "What?"
"Flight or invisibility?" Freddy repeated, but didn't even give Billy a chance to answer before he was off.
"Ya' see? Everybody chooses flight! Wanna know why?"
"...So they can fly away from this conversation?"
A snort came from your lips, but you swiftly turned it into fake coughs and the clearing of your throat at Freddy's side-eye. So, you were left with nothing to do but pick at you own food and tune out the rant you had heard nearly a bajillion times. The only thing that hadn't gotten tiring was seeing the bright glint in his eye while he talked about superpowers. A smile stretched across his face that put a grin on your own while he used his hands and arms expressively.
The shake of his curls, the pitch and volume of his voice all over the place, the urge to just 'boop!' his little nose whenever it scrunched up.
"...Sneaking around every-everywhere, 'tis- it-...it's a total villain power, right?!"
The embarrassment of everyone staring at your table as a result of Freddy's shouting snapped you out of your trance. Outside of the heat slowly rising to your cheeks at the attention, you were almost thankful. You felt as though you had no right to be crushing over the boy when he clearly had no thoughts of you other than being a best friend. For the past four years, it had been nothing but superheroes, shit-talking, and whatever else best friends do between you two, and you were confident in keeping it that way as to not ruin what good you already had.
"You're coming on a little strong, don't you think?" You asked as the conversation of the cafeteria began to pick back up, watching while Freddy swiftly gathered his food and crutch to follow Billy.
"Hush, (Y/N). I'm just trying to be nice. And I want my bullet back."
"Uh huh..." You nodded, resting your chin against the palm of your hand while your elbow sat on the table. "Are you sure you don't want me to go with? In case he makes a run for it, I mean."
"Oh, har-har, you're hilarious." Freddy scoffed, rolling his brown eyes while you giggled lightly. Before he left, he pointed a stern finger at you, raising his brows which caused you to roll your own eyes.
       "Seriously, though. Stay."
"Woof." Was your only comment, causing him to throw you a joking wink.
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
That was the last you saw of him. Well, not the complete last, but things felt...different.
It was never hard for him to make you smile. Whether that be a result of your inevitable infatuation with him or just the fact that he effortlessly tickled your funny bone was unknown. But regardless, your grin felt bittersweet while you watched him. Not in person at the edge of your bed, or over FaceTime on your phone...
But on the glowing screen of your laptop, watching his latest YouTube video upload from what once was a dead channel now blowing up under the new name, "Hero Manager" unlike the quirky, original one you two had made up a long while ago. "Superman's Left Ankle". God, you thought you two were twelve-year-old, miniature Kevin Hart's with that one.
Although, Freddy had always been the true comedian of your duo, and it was easily displayed now for millions to see.
       "Shoot 'im in the face!!"
Including you, in the darkness of your lonely room.
       "Single. Bound."
You had gone through hours of footage, you were sure of it.
       "Faster than a locomotive...!"
Just marveling at the fact that Freddy was seemingly achieving his dream. He met a real life superhero! And was his apparent manager of all things!
"What did'ya' see?! Did ya' see boobies? Were there nipples? Why-...why aren't you talking?!"
All of it bittersweet, because he never once told you. He never even mentioned the fact of a new superhero in Fawcett City, let alone telling you all of the daunting stories of being his personal sidekick. Not that he had to, of course. But given that you'd known him for so long and practically shared the obsession, you'd think...
He hadn't been talking to you much at all, now that you thought about it. He was no longer spending hours at a time at your house or texting you constantly with whatever odd thoughts plagued his mind. You missed his good morning memes and the walks to school, avoiding the Breyer twins like the plague in a weird mix of fun and fear while discovering new routes to school. Like it was a scene out of Mission: Impossible or something.
The only contact you two had shared within the past couple of weeks was him brushing past you swiftly in the hallway, attached to Billy at the hip. His new brother. Without even so much as a quick, "Hey." or a nod of recognition.
To say you were jealous was the least of it. Hell, hardly envious at all, knowing it was more of an irritation you kept pushing deep, deep, down. Letting it fester into resent that would bubble up to your chest. As a result, you slammed you laptop shut, unable to take hearing Freddy's voice through videos that you had watched over a million times already, even though they were spammed and recent.
       'Ding!'
Your flushed body calmed, the hot flash subsiding when your phone alerted you of a new text. You almost hated the way how quick giddy grew in replacement of your vexation. How you hoped this could be the chance at a real conversation. Of course, you wouldn't immediately push with strong questions. The boy wasn't stupid, he had to have known you've seen the videos by now.
You, of all people! Hell, you were one of his first ten viewers the second you saw he uploaded. 'Watch Hero Manager's First Video!' Was the notification, and God, you felt pride and excitement swell in your chest for him. So, of course, you'd gently lean yourself towards bringing up him and his new adventures with The Human Powerstorm. The Red Cyclone. Zap-tain America. Captain Sparkle Fingers.
       Whatever his name was...

Your face fell, shoulders dropping from a tense excitement you hadn't realized you were holding. Your bottom lip went tugged in between your teeth, almost stinging at the sensation from how often you had been picking at it from nerves.
'No, no,' You thought, hurriedly typing your message. 'I can revive this.'

"Ugh...!" You felt childish for letting out such a tantrumous groan. Not that you could help it, flinging back down onto your bed and staring up at the ceiling to push back the tears that threatened to appear. This was how all of your newly short conversations went as of late. In person or over text.
He'd get you all riled up, hopes higher than the moon, when he tapped your shoulder or sent you a late night text. Just for it to be something stupid like, "Do you have a pencil?"
"Do you have the homework? Lemme' copy."
       "...You look kind of tired."
That one nearly sent you tipping over the edge that day. Of-fucking-course you were tired! Tired of him acting like you no longer mattered, because now he has a new best friend. Tired of him practically ignoring you whenever you did try to pretend things were normal! When you would attempt to ramble to him about the Breyers picking on solely you, now that Freddy was ditching everyday, making him barely a target. When you wanted to talk about the things you always did.
You got tired of missing his laughter and his jokes, the way his hair fell lazily on his head and there you were, to brush it with your fingers into submission. Tired of missing his eyes and his freckles that matched, the clicking sound of his crutch against the ground when he'd walk beside you, the way he would breeze past you to grab something and you'd smell the faintest of sweet pine.
"Fuck this..." You grumbled, hastily pushing yourself off of your mattress and to your closet. You slipped on a pair of the first shoes you saw and threw on a jacket. You wouldn't be out too long, you assumed. You were tired of missing your best friend, especially when he was just next door.
You were so tired of things feeling so different all of the sudden, because things were different. And you couldn't stand it any longer. Not when it hurt this bad. Not when it physically made your chest ache as you marched out of the front door of your house and down the sidewalk.
Two houses and you were there, knocking on the door of the foster family household. Maybe a little too urgently, unknitting your brows at the way Rosa had met your (E/C) eyes with slight worry.
"Oh! (Y/N), sweetie!" She gasped, pulling you in for a much needed hug. Her body heat shielded you from the cold air nipping at any part of you that might've gone uncovered. "It's felt like forever since I've seen you last; where've you been?"
       "Uh..."
Had it really been that long? You almost shook your head against her shoulder. Yeah, you had just established it had been a couple of weeks, but what you didn't realize was how odd it must've been to everyone else. No more tea parties with Mary and Darla, no music sessions with Pedro or video game competitions with Eugene and Victor. No baking with Rosa...
In your mess of yearning for Freddy, you forgot to yearn for them, too, not that anything really stopped you from coming over sooner. Other than the unbearable awkwardness, that is.
"Just got a little caught up with school, is all."
"Well," Rosa sighed with a smile, finally letting you go and ushering you inside the heat of the house. "At least Freddy wasn't dragging you into all of his mess. Him and Billy have been up to so much, lately."
"Oh, wow." You sighed gently, trying not to let offense nor uninterest slip in your tone. How oblivious the woman was, not realizing that's something else you had missed that came along with knowing one Freddy Freeman. His wild and crazy shenanigans. Although, unlike Billy and him, the two of you had never ditched school...
       "Where is he?"
Jealously clouded your mind, but you fought it to keep your voice light and even plaster on a polite smile, which Rosa returned.
"In his room. Why don't you go on up and say hi? I'm sure he'll be happy to see you!" And with that, she was off to tend to the rest of her kids, leaving you to trot up the stairs and plant your feet at his bedroom door.
You found yourself thankful, almost completely relieved, that it was shut. It gave you time to actually think for a moment, to prep your words and statements without solely relying on spur of the moment emotions.
       'Freddy, I...'
You made the pivots on your heels as if you were going to pace back and forth, but didn't knowing it might be too loud.
'I've been missing you lately. Which I know wouldn't be happening if you weren't ignoring me... No, that's too forward and condescending. I feel like we aren't really...close anymore. I know you've been...busy...lately. But when's the last time we've-?...Ugh, no.'
The pit in your stomach weighed heavy, and if you remained here any longer, you thought you might cry at just the thought of saying things all wrong. You couldn't predict his reactions, nor his words, so you were just going to have to twist the knob and find out.
"Wha-?! Oh. Oh! It's you!" You nodded, fighting a giggle at Freddy's bewildered reaction. You wanted to remain semi-serious for this conversation, even if his wide smile almost completely stopped that from happening. You watched as he paused a round of Mortal Kombat on the-
       'Woah...'
Where the fuck did that come from?! A new TV, definetly higher quality than the old box TV that used to sit in its place. It was here you finally noticed all of the surrounding empty cardboard boxes. A new XBox, PlayStation, and set of controllers. New video games, some you swore you had already planned to buy him this Christmas. New merch littered the floor and his bed, new trinkets, new...everything.
"Where the hell did you get all of this stuff?" You asked, curious as to how it was even affordable when the boy was only making ten bucks a week doing his chores. And that was if he did them at all.
You barely received and answer, hardly a grumbled, "Early presents..." before he cleared off his desk to make room for-
"I'm actually kinda glad you just brought the homework over instead. Your pictures are always kinda blurry and it's hard to read."
       ". . .Huh?"
Your jealously bubbled back up into your chest again. No, no not jealously. It had shifted into something more than that. Maybe a mix, but most definitely more. So much so that you didn't even allow Freddy a chance to clarify before you were speaking again, your tone of voice completely different from that of the easy-going one you had entered with.
"So, what...I'm just here to bring you your home-...No, excuse me, my homework, for you to copy off of? I'm supposed to just do that, and pretend like everything between us is just-...is just all good, right?"
"Tch." Freddy snorted a little, not yet catching onto the seriousness of your expression. He wasn't taking you seriously. He didn't seem to care. "Relax, it's fine. You don't have to come over every time I need it. I was just kidding about the blurry picture thing."
"That's not the point, Freddy." You seethed, and it was here he finally grasped onto your genuine irritation, watching as your gaze pierced through him like a knife.
"Wait, are you actually mad at me right now?"
His cluelessness, the slightly amused undertone in his voice, made you all the more vexed. So much so, you couldn't help but allow your voice to raise in the slightest and let your arms and hands help you do your talking.
"Oh, no shit, dude! Wow, I wonder why! Gee, let's take a look, hmm...oh, yeah, that's right! You ignore me for weeks, you don't talk to me, and when you do, you treat me like we don't even know each other...! Like I haven't been there for you for your worst and best moments. Like I'm not even your best friend anymore! I mean...who does that?! Do you even care!?"
"Are...are you serious right now? I-...No..." Freddy shook both his head and his free hand, slightly limping backwards to sit at the chair by his desk. "Don't even answer that."
"Why? You scared I'm being serious? You upset that I might be telling the truth?"
"No, (Y/N)." Was his stern reply. "It's because I have no idea what you're talking about. I literally talked to you yesterday!"
"No, you didn't." Was your scoff and eye roll in his direction, only to receive one right back.
       "I texted you, what?!"
"Yeah!" You burst, whipping your phone out of your jacket pocket. "At three in the morning, asking me if you missed a test because you ditched class for the millionth time, leaving me by myself! Treating me like I'm just some- some..."
"-Oh, my bad!" Freddy interrupted, raising his hands defensively without a lick of sincerity to his apology. "I didn't realize you had to be next to me twenty-four/seven to feel something...!"
"Like I'm just some throwaway!" You finished, but swiftly processed his words and continued on. "That's not what I'm saying and you know it! Acting like we haven't been by each other's side for years, just for you to ditch me for some kid that randomly shows up!"
"That is my brother, (Y/N)!" He gasped, and you could merely shake your head in disdain.
"He hated you when we first met!"
"So that's what this is about, huh? You're-...What? You're jealous?"
You pinched the bridge of your nose at his slow nod and remark, sighing while he kept going tauntingly.
"If I had known you were so easy to piss off, I wouldn't have bothered telling you anything at all."
"That's that problem!!" You burst, your throat beginning to burn at both your shouts and the threat of tears. "You never told me anything! You never talked to me, we never talk anymore. All you do is ask me for things and we never..." You couldn't find the words, but you swiftly and easily found evidence of your claims.
You shoved your phone into Freddy's face, scrolling through the weekly amounts of three sentenced messages.
"(N/N), can I have the homework, please? Do you have the study guide questions? Do you know the answer to number four? Do you have a pencil? Can you bring me my sketchbook? Can I do this, can I do that?" You mocked each message that flew by, your thumb continuing to scroll as he half-heartedly scanned.
"I'm not here to be you second goddamn crutch, Freddy!" His brows furrowed at your words, never having gotten the chance to explain himself before feeling the hurt of your words in his chest. All he could think about was how he could counter, how he could respond.
Something he typically did, usually reserved for run-ins with the Breyers. Never you, not that he was thinking clearly enough to stop himself, or listen to your dejected murmur before speaking.
       "I thought...I- ugh...I thought I was your friend."
"Then maybe you shouldn't be here."
       "...Wha-?"
"-Come to think of it, I never asked you to be my 'second goddamn crutch' anyways! You stood up for me when I needed you, and that's fine! But I don't need you anymore! And if you seem to have such a hard time with that, then maybe, we never needed to be friends in the first place!"
Though your chest ached at his harsh words and tone, you ignored his glared and mulled it over. Longer for than what you would have liked, but you almost giggled when you came to your conclusion.
You shrugged, inhaling deeply as if releasing would allow you to let go of all of the hurt you felt in that moment.
       "You're right."
Freddy found himself taken aback by your calm agreement, instantly regretting his words. So much so he was willing to take them back in an instant.
       "Wait-"
"-I shouldn't have made it seem like you owe me your time just becuse I chose to become your friend. That's not fair of me. You have your family now, you've always had. And now, you have a brother. One your age, at least. So, I understand why it's...why I'm..."
Your voice trembled and you turned away, making haste towards the door.
       "You get it."
It didn't take long for Freddy to slip his arm through his crutch and attempt to hurry after you, but you had already fled down the stairs and unfortunately ran into Mary.
"(Y/N)?" She questioned, already worried like the rest of her siblings. It then occurred to you, as you looked up at the older girl with teary eyes, that the whole of downstairs probably heard your loud argument.
       "What happened?"
Your suspicions were confirmed when Billy stood in front of his new siblings with furrowed brows and a glint in his eyes that screamed, "I'm sorry."
But it didn't matter anymore. There was no point, and you knew that. Enough so to push past Mary gently and waltz through the front door, ignoring Freddy's rushed calls after you.
You were hit with the cold air again, knowing better not to run as you walked back into your house and to your room. Even through blurry vision, it didn't take you long to gather necessities into a minibackpack of yours, a charger, your wallet, the works, and throw on a heavier jacket. You thought about layering up your flanneled pajama bottoms too, but you didn't want to risk it. Too much time and you'd just be met with your parents or siblings questioning you and your distressed state, saddening you further.
"What happened?" Rosa came rushing into the den, her husband not too far behind. "Did (Y/N) leave already?"
Mary was quick to put two-and-two together, her sympathetic expression towards their front door immediately phasing into a look of complete disdain while her head whipped around to glare at Freddy.
"What did you do?" Was his older sister's accusing question, Freddy already pursing his lips together in shame. He didn't really want to answer, already in a state of self-loathing and debating on ignoring the questions thrown his way. Debating on going after you or giving you space. Although, he had given you quite a bit of space already, hadn't he...?
He wasn't alloted any time to draw a conclusion, Billy already walking towards him with a blank stare. Freddy huffed, watching as his brother walked past without a single word. Just his eyes, that urged him to follow up the steps. With one last look towards the door, he did, and he immediately felt like he was being scolded by an 'I'm not angry, just dissapointed' Victor the second he plopped down on his bottom bunk bed.
But, in all fairness...it was pretty hard to tell the difference between the two.
"Okay, am I missing something, or are you purposefully being an idiot right now?! Have you like, absolutely lost your mind, dude?!"
       "I-"
"First off, I can't even believe you would say...any of what you just said to her!"
       "You could hea-?"
"-Like, I know you can be kind of a dick sometimes. I mean, hello, so can I. But to her, man?! Really?"
Freddy didn't get to put a word in, Billy pacing back and forth as he went on in complete dismay and shock.
"I could've swore the whole, 'I'm keeping distant to protect (Y/N) because I love her' thing was you, duh, loving her! But, seeing as you just pushed her away into oblivion, I don't think ya' do!"
       "Look, things just-"
"-And second...!" Billy interjected again, leaving Freddy to sigh exasperatingly, almost theatrically. "I'm in...in awe at how you actually just let her walk away like that. Out of the house, maybe out of your life, forever!"
       "Dude-!"
"Who let's the most amazing, pretty, ride-or-die chick just strut out of their life like that?! In tears, no less!"
       "Billy...!"
"Freddy, that was probably one of the most stupidest things I've ever seen you do, ever! And I've only known you for, what, two...three weeks?! I-"
"-Billy, you're not helping!!" Freddy nearly exploded, burying his face into his hands while his brother finally shut up. "I know, okay? I know I messed up, I know that I...ugh..."
There was a long moment of silence, Billy waiting for Freddy to collect himself before the boy smoothed his hands up his face and through his disheveled curls. Disagreements had happened between you two, sure. Things always easy to just laugh off and forget about. But a full on fight?
"I dunno what to do." He sighed, pulling his bottom lip in between his teeth to keep it from quivering. "I-I thought keeping her away from all of this would make it so that she wouldn't get hurt. I didn't consider that I...I didn't mean to push her away entirely. I was the one to hurt her and now we both feel like shit because of it."
"Dude..." Billy let out a sigh of his own, almost that of a groan that caused Freddy to prepare for more lecturing. But instead, he was granted words proving a lot more helpful than anticipated.
"Tell her everything you just told me."
       "...What?"
Billy took a seat beside him on the bed, placing an encouraging palm on his brother's shoulder.
"Find her," He specified. "Apologize...and tell her everything you just told me. That's what you should do."
Freddy turned his head to look at Billy, the brunette pulling away a bit with his hands raised in surrender.
"I mean, that's what I would do. I'm not as stupid as you, though, so I'd probably never be in this mess."
"Augh, shut up...!" Freddy groaned, unable to hold back a determined smile as he shoved Billy away. He stood, looping his crutch back through his arm and making his way to your house with hurry.
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
He had never seen your house so dark before. The lights always on given the way your family would be scattered throughout the place, leaving switches flipped on in their wake. Never too quiet either, music or TV blasting, conversations happening over one another. Or even yourself, laughing or talking loudly at something you had seen.
Then again, your front door was never left just hanging open either.
Freddy had entered slowly, upon realizing he didn't have to knock, trying to somehow quiet the sounds of his crutch clicking against the ground. Though that was nearly impossible, it didn't worry him as much as the eerie feeling he had bubbling in the pit of his stomach.
Your parent's car wasn't parked outside, which had led him to the conclusion they might've been gone on an errand or something before you had even arrived home. But if that were the case, where were you? Did he dare call out?
He opened his mouth, but snapped it closed just as fast.
'No, don't do that. That's like, horror movie rule number one.'
His quick reminder interrupted his thoughts, but soon enough, he was back on track. Looking towards the direction of your room, he swiftly made his way to your door. Like your front door, it had been left open. Not wide open, but just enough to draw suspicion and worry to Freddy's head. Enough so to where he broke the number one horror movie rule.
       "(Y/N)...?"
No response, nothing to see but a trashed room that sent panic shooting up through his chest. Your clothes littered the floor, and your belongings had been tossed about as though they had no meaning. Hell, the only light that came from your house was the one that had been left on in your room.
With all of the apparent evidence and horrible thoughts only a very in love Freddy Freeman could have, he came to his rather morbid conclusion:
       "She's not here...!"
"What? She just left not too long ago, why wouldn't-"
       "-She's gone, man! She's...she's...!"
Billy couldn't exactly process Freddy's yelling, more or less the fact that you had been kidnapped. And before he could get any further clarification that he was sure, Freddy had already hung up. He had already rushed back outside of your house and recklessly let his crutch fall to the concrete. Thunder cracked and lighting shot down, a freak storm, for he had already spoken the name.
       "Shazam!"
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
You kept your pace hurried, as if you were on the run. Of course, you weren't. But the feeling of bustling past people and wind nipping at your face kept you busy and distracted. Just so that the tears you kept forcing back wouldn't threaten to spill.
But jeez, was it hard. The more you thought about everything that had happened...the more you mourned the freshly lost friendship between Freddy and you...the more you continued to get lost within the city you, in hindsight, probably shouldn't have gone wandering too deep into...
The harder it became not to place yourself right there at that park bench, take a shaky, deep breath in, and finally allow yourself to cry.
As bittersweet as it felt, to finally release all of that tension at the expense of what could've been, you didn't get to for long before your head had went flying back up from your hands at the sounds of shouts from not too far away.
"Holy shit...!! Oh my go-...! There you are, oh my god, (Y/N), you're okay!"
"...What?" You squeaked out unsurely, nerves wracked at the sight through blurry tears. A man, caramel-colored curly hair hanging around his face while dressed head to toe in blue and gold. His white cape and large, yellow, lightning emblem further making him stick out to anyone around to see. Hell, if you didn't know any better, he was literally glowing.
"(Y/N), I thought something horrible happened to you, you scared the shit out of me...! Y'know, I've only ever fought one supervillain, and that was kinda recently, so I don't think I would've known what to do if I had to fight another one by myself..."
He began to speed walk closer to the bench you sat on, leaving you to quickly dry your tears and try to plan your next course of action. With very little amount of time to do so, you ended up scrambling away behind it as if the smallest of barriers would really protect you from whoever this crazy guy was.
"I don't know what you're talking about...!" You admitted hesitantly. "How do you know my name?!"
You couldn't bring yourself to ask who he was, because in truth, you kind of already knew the answer to that one. As he stalked closer, you were able to recognize his suit under the cloak of night. It resembled that of the new superhero that had been running around Philadelphia, and then, it clicked.
"I've seen you before! My friend posts these videos of the guy dressed in red, like, all of the time. And I saw you on the news, with those other superheroes...you all dress the same."
It was now his turn to give you a look of confusion, stopping in his tracks just before the bench while he tilted his head. He watched your gaze shift down to the ground, continuing to wipe away stray tears that further worried him.
       "I mean-...Not my friend, just...someone I know, I guess. I dunno anymore..."
"You...you don't know?" He repeated, defeat laced in his own voice as if you really had been kidnapped. No. It was...it felt a lot worse than that. He had lost you because of a stupid fight and it was all his fault. Things can't exactly go back to normal after that, but he would try...
He sat himself down on the bench and patted the seat beside him, you awkwardly following his instruction when you realized he was trustworthy. He was a superhero, after all. What else would he be besides that?
"Do...you wanna talk about it? Maybe things could be worked out. Fixed."
"No..." You grumbled, shaking your head at his words. You pressed your face back into your hands to hide the onslaught of more embarrassing tears.
"Well, that's fine. We don't have to talk, we could just-"
"-No, no I do wanna talk." You interjected, your voice muffled. "I just mean no as in there's no point. I'm the one that ended it with him. And for good reason. We...we just didn't work out."
"Jeez, ya' make it sound like you broke up with him..." His joke eased the tension in the slightest, but you could only huff a little before giving a shrug.
       "Might as well have..."
Freddy faltered a bit, unsure if you were about to say what he thought you were.
"...It's stupid. It was stupid of me to think we might've had...I dunno...something more. We were just friends. And yet I went and developed this huge crush on him and messed it all up by being jealous and-and clingy. M'so stupid..."
"What? Hey, no, no, you are not stupid. You are like, the smartest girl I-...er, he knows, and if he can't see that, then he's the stupid one, don't you think?"
He softened when you looked back up at him, tears in your eyes and an unsure gaze to match as he went on recklessly.
"He was the stupid one, not to have seen it sooner. God, I mean, it was so obvious, how could I-. . .Clingy, but it just meant you cared and worried and that's all anyone could ask for in a friend. I should've...Gah..."
He groaned as he stood, his sudden movement making you rise up to watch him. Not to mention, you couldn't help but notice the odd act of him talking as though it was him you were referring to. It only worried you more. Maybe this guy was just some random in the evening. Or, even worse, a hallucination.
"I shouldn't have ever pushed you away, that was dumb. I was just...I just wanted to protect you, so that no one would come looking for you, because as we both know, a superhero's loved ones are like, number one bad guy target."
"How do you...? Wait...wait, I'm confused-..."
He ignored your hesitant words without missing a beat, simultaneously throwing all caution into the wind.
"And I never meant to make you jealous or-or hurt your feelings back there at the house. If anything, I was jealous because I thought you were getting close with Billy, and...I shouldn't have just treated you like you're only here to give me the answeres to my homework or whatever else you've helped me with. I'm sorry for treating you like shit, and I'm sorry I never told you everything you deserved to hear come from me."
"How...how do you...?" You were at a loss for words, soaking in the heartfelt apology that had come from some...random superhero rather than-
       Wait...
      "...Freddy...?"
The man looked up from his shameful stare at the ground, and it dawned on him that not only did you not completely know who he was and this was probabaly really weird for you, but you might have certainly figured it out by now...
"Ah shit...I...I'm sorry, I have to go, I wasn't-...You weren't supposed to hear any of that. Er-...You were! Just not like this, I-...Oh, whatever, screw it..."
He gave up trying to cover his mistake, simply taking a reasonable step back.
       "Just...don't freak out, 'kay?"
"A little late for that, but okay..." You murmured, rushing off of the seat and back behind it again.
       "Shazam!"
You jumped at the loud cracking of thunder and shielded your eyes from the flash of lightning that hit the ground. In an instant, you were met with the very boy you had basically ran away from, his knees planted in the grass with a pleading look that had you on the brink of tears all over again.
"Freddy..." You repeated breathlessly, slowly making your way towards him as he stumbled through nervous words.
"I know, I know, I...I'm an asshole, and I should've told you sooner and I...I never meant to-to hurt you, (Y/N). Really, I didn't. And I know I've been a real jerk lately, but it was just...I just wanted you safe..."
"I know." You nodded swiftly, everything becoming clear as you gently stooped beside him. "But...Freddy, where's your crutch?"
He couldn't help but solemnly laugh, his eyes looking deep into yours in a sense of amazement. He couldn't believe that even after all of this, after the way he made you feel, you still cared enough about the boy to worry about his leg. To allow him to lean his head against you and shrug a little while you hugged him close.
"It's...in front of your house, I think. Outside."
"So reckless..." You murmured against the top of his head, having missed his scent, his touch...
"I know..." He nodded, releasing a shaky breath before looking back up at you.
       "(Y/N)-..."
"-I forgive you. And I'm sorry I went off on you like that. Earlier, I mean. I wish we would've talked it out, or...I don't know."
"It's fine. I lowkey deserved it." Freddy smiled. It slowly grew into a grin, one that you could recognize from a mile away. A shit-eating one, that immediately let you know the boy was up to something which left you to pull away with a smirk of your own.
       "What now?"
"You actually have a crush on me?"
"Ugh, shut up!" You pushed him away slightly at his tease, your cheeks heating up at the question anyways while he laughed frivolously.
"Why don't we work on being best friends again before you start getting antsy, alright? And, not to mention, you need to start telling me these things more often! Like how you're an entire superhero, and that your siblings are, too! And-!"
        "-Yeah, yeah, I hear you..."
Tumblr media
I feel like some people might find the ending a bit rushed, but I was actually kind of going for that slow-burn, best friends whether you're lovers or not, type of feel/vibe, y'know? But I hope you enjoyed it regardless!!

Okay, so... to better help me with writing some of these imagines and whatnots along the way,,,,
What are some pet/nicknames you think Billy, Anthea, Freddy, and Mary would call reader🤔?
They can be personal, cliche, unique, I don't care, just give me some suggestions because I'd love to hear them! They can be platonic or romantic or both, and you don't even have to comment them or have reasoning (although I'd love to hear the reasons cuz *squealing in I love reading y'all's ideas*), you can just drop them in our inbox and even be anonymous if you'd like!
Fr just have fun with it, and know that, again, it'd be a huge help! Tysm for the support, y'all!
AND ALSO, quick question, should I start a tag list? Because I'm happy to have a tag list for specific works I upload. Like, every time I or Moon upload something Freddy related, you get tagged, or Billy related, you get tagged, etc etc? That could be cool, right? Just lmk if I should, and I'll flesh out the full idea later on :).
I'm out, peace✌🏽.

DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN SHAZAM 2
Can you do poly Anne and Freddy with reader? Like how they got together and how the relationship would work
*cries in I get to write my own representation*
🩷💚🩵
For one, I definitely believe in the fact that Greek gods did not have the same societal things/"rules" as we do in modern days. Like man, they're above human morals, love is love to them, no matter what form that takes. They're literal gods, so they'd be damned if anyone told them different. Including how much love there is to go around. And certainly, Anthea wasn't raised any differently.
Plus, Freddy gives me vibes he's down for whatever as long as he likes you, so...
Perfect grounds for a throuple, the way I see it🤷🏽‍♀️🤭.

Back to Freddy Master List
Back to Anthea Master List
Tumblr media
I definitely feel like this all started with a classic case of miscommunication. Like, you were already #besties4theresties with Freddy, and when Anthea showed up, he got to know her and etcetcetc, insert the events of the second movie...
But then, at some point (after the events of the movie), you ended up meeting her yourself, and you two become the ultimate girl duo for a while, like, everybody knows that if Anthea is around, you're not far behind. And vice versa.
But everyone also assumed Anthea and Freddy were a thing, so now everyone's confused until one day...
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"(Y/N)! Hey...!" Freddy came rushing up to you, as fast as he could move with a crutch in hand, with a familiar brunette following in suite. Her eyes lit up the moment she saw you, readying herself to greet you before Freddy cut her off with his insistent rambles.
"Okay, so, I've been meaning to tell you this forever, and I didn't exactly- Mm... I didn't really know how to go about it, but I kinda' just figured 'fuck it', so... (Y/N), this is-!"
"Anne!" You squealed, opening your arms for the girl to come rushing into. This act stunned Freddy completely, any words about to leave his throat dwindling out into a tiny croak. With his mouth agape and his eyes wide, he watched as you two practically fell over each other in your scramble to be as close as possible, which quickly shifted into catching-up-gossip before you finally realized your figures were still being gawked at.
"Close your mouth, babe, you'll catch flies." Anthea joked, and of course, you laughed. But it didn't take long for you to take quick notice of the term of endearment.
'Babe...'
It was now your turn for your lips to part, your pointer finger hurriedly pointing back and forth between your best friends in shock.
"Oh my god, you two are a thing?!"
"That's what I was trying to tell you!" Freddy exclaimed with a laugh. "I didn't know you two already knew each other!"
"Yeah, man!" You nodded. "I met her, like, the second week of school. We've been hanging out together ever since. Anne, I didn't know Freddy was the boyfriend...!"
Anthea nodded swiftly, as if all of her little stories, rants, and raves had been obviously about him the whole time.
"I've been friends with him since I was in, like, kindergarten!"
"(N/N), that's so cute!" Anthea cooed with a nickname for you, poking at your sides lightly before adding teasing words right after. "But, I feel like I've known you even longer, so~...!"
In a sudden flurry of emotion, Freddy's world's had collided. His best girl and his girlfriend, the two of them a daring duo he had been so excited to create, only to learn that they had become so on their own. And now, the three of you would form the ultimate trio. Because what could possibly go wrong there?
"I mean, can you believe we're so close that people actually thought we were dating?"
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
Sure, what Anthea had said was meant to be a harmless joke. And, don't get me wrong, both you and Freddy laughed.
But it was a notion that never really left Freddy's mind, a little bubble constantly floating around in the back of his brain.
'Dating?' He thought. And not in a crude way, of course. He had no qualms with the idea of your sexuality ranging from anything other than straight, same went for Anthea's. It was just that the thought of you two together somehow made perfect sense. Clear sense. Which... was odd at first. Because... well... him and Anthea made clear, perfect sense, too.
Didn't it?
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"How do you feel about (Y/N)?"
It was a sudden question, seemingly out of the blue, especially right now. In the middle of their date.
"(Y/N)?"
And though it was a curveball, Anthea nevertheless seemed to perk up at just the mention of you. Her eyes twinkling, her smile broadening, the girl even going as far as to fix her posture. As if the subject of you were to be approached with the utmost clarity and sincerity.
"I mean, where do I even start? She's really the most amazing friend anyone could have. I mean, besides you and your family, of course! But, I just mean... like, it's nice when I'm with her. Don't you ever feel...burdened by the weight being a hero comes with?"
"Sometimes." Freddy admitted with a nod. "When I'm with (Y/N), I... it's like being free from it all. Just for a little while. Normal. She's... caring, and-and smart, and she just... gets me, y'know?"
"I know exactly what you mean." Anthea agreed with an eager nod to his words. "I feel this... this warmth. Kind of like with you. When we first met. Inviting, welcoming-"
"Judgment free."
"Yes. She's got something I just can't place. Something that's hard to find in most people. She's..."
"She's perfect."
And while Freddy hadn't shyed away into filling in the blanks, he caught himself the moment he had admitted his thoughts. It wasn't to say he was discrediting you of those earlier stated qualities, but he also in no way wanted to disrespect or disregard what him and Anthea had. Because that was special too. She was special, too.
"And so are you! Obviously- Duh, like-"
"Yes, yeah, of course!" Anthea stumbled, failing at hiding the blush clouding up her own cheeks. "I mean, I think you're special too. You're very special, Freddy."
She placed a comforting hand atop of his own.
"You and (Y/N) are very special to me."
Freddy smiled. He agreed.
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
He wasn't the only one with such confusing, maybe even contradictory thoughts running through his mind, though. But, unlike him, you really didn't have anyone to confide in.
No one to properly convey such thoughts to, no one who wouldn't shun or shame you for thinking such ways about two separate people. People you called your closest friends, no less!
...Well... actually...
You had Billy, but since when does he ever know what he's talking about?
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
"...And, ugh... I don't know, dude. It's all just... weird."
Billy nodded, trying his best and hardest to both understand and formulate a solution to what you had let him know was a problem.
But, then again...
"It doesn't have to be."
You perked up at his words, uncovering your face with your hands and shooting him a confused glance towards his spot on the couch. He had even paused his video game for you, looking towards you with green eyes that screamed, 'Isn't the answer obvious?'.
"Weird, I mean. It doesn't have to be weird if you don't want it to be."
"How can it not be weird?" You deadpanned, throwing your arms and letting them harshly fall back into your lap. "I've-... I'm finally admitting to myself that I've had a crush on Freddy since...forever. And boom, just like that, my best friend comes in and sweeps him off of his feet. And I didn't even know about it 'til months later!"
"You're making yourself sound hopeless."
"Gee, thanks, Billy." You hummed sarcastically. "Real encouraging."
He shrugged. You went on.
"Look, all I'm saying is... it's just...weird to suddenly feel all of these different things at once, okay? Because then, sometimes I think it's not Freddy that I really like. And that I'm mixing up these feelings. That it's... that it's Anne who I really like. And that maybe-"
"-It's okay to love them both, you know..."
A pause lingered in the air at his words, Billy casually unpausing his game while your eyes narrowed in his direction.
"...Did you just quote 'The Vampire Diaries'?"
"Mary has been watching it on repeat for months, I literally can't get the actor's faces out of my head!"
With the shake of your own head in dismay, you couldn't help but entertain Katherine Pierce's words. They were sudden, yet, actually kind of wise. Extra shocking coming from Billy Batson, of all people, but...
"Do... do you actually believe that? Would they...would they even...?"
You couldn't even finish your own question, too flushed with embrassment at just the mere thought.
"Go find out. They should be home any second now, anyway." Billy shrugged once more, mouth stuffed with half of a pizza roll.
"You are zero help." You scoffed, storming out of the house as he called after you.
"But you're going, aren't you?!"
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
As much as it vexed you to admit it, maybe Billy actually knew what he was talking about. Just this once, though.
And while yes, you did jog all the way home in search of your phone (because that fear of rejection had you NOT wanting to physically face that at all💀) and began to type away in Anthea's inbox, it didn't seem to matter.
Because Freddy had already reached out to you first...
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
Over time and conversation, it had become apparent to all three of you that a mutual crush circled all around. No way to shield or avoid it, no way to subdue it. And, with only a leap of faith to determine your actions, the three of you simply decided to embrace it.
It was through sheer willpower and an overabundance of both love and fear that caused Freddy to make it official, bringing the two of you together for a date that ended with him asking the both of you if you would take him as your boyfriend. Naturally, agreeance swiftly followed, along with the consent to being each other's girlfriend. A throuple was born, not only iconic, but a loving one that lasted as long as the three of you lived...
──────────── •⚡️• ────────────
It was a little awkward and unknowing at first, hard to get used. Especially for Freddy, who couldn't even fathom the idea of a girlfriend in the past, now blessed with two. But he hardly spared a moment, making sure that the two of you knew he would be there with plenty of love to go around.
As a matter of fact, I feel like (as a whole, as a throuple) your guy's main love language would be words of affirmation. The three of you constantly reminding, affirming, and simply just speaking into existence of how much you all truly care and love each other. It helps to wound any moments of jealousy or spurs of needed attention.
Not to mention the constant hand-holding/playing between y'all🤧😻. I feel like Freddy is constantly playing with you or Anthea's hands.
Anthea definitely isn't hesitant to show either one of you off. Both of you at once! Girly is used to seeing/being around relationships like this (like I said in my little note at the beginning, Greek gods definitely have different societal "standards" than humans do) so don't be surprised when she's happily showering you both with kisses 'hello' and 'goodbye' one moment, and glaring at passerbys who even just THINK to give a weird look/comment the next.
Freddy, kind of like Anthea, is super flirty and cocky about it up front. Like, hello, two girlfriends that love a cherish him. Who tf wouldn't want that? But, it's his doubts that lie on the inside, rumors sometimes getting to him or his own insecurities of the two of you leaving him weighing heavy in his heart and mind.
Not that he doesn't trust y'all for even a second. He's just... not so used to being seen for him. Really him, not just his little Captain Everypower persona, yk?
But, he gets over it pretty quick when you guys are right there to give him ample amounts of reassurance and love.
And that's all just the beginning...!!
Tumblr media
I'm definitely making a part two to this at some point!! This is just too good, I have more thoughts in the tank (such as: more cutesy little couple stuff, coming out a throuple to the family, and a bonus, a short story/imagine at the end of a how a date would go) so yeah!
Be on the lookout for that! I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it🥲🫶🏽!

Hai! I'm just gonna be real simple about this...I do most of the writing and headcanons and writing-related-whatnot on this account. Ofc, Moon is always giving me ideas and inspo, she was my main motivator to even do this account with her, after all😌💅🏽.
Anyways, I'm happy to write whatever for whoever, as long as I've got the proper ideas to work with (so make your requests specific/detailed and as long as you want, I don't mind. In fact, I'd adore it😼). I literally have no other boundaries other than that tbh (at least, not any that I can think of right now), so go nuts😭✋🏽.
Oh, and you'll always know it's me addressing you because I usually write (or at least, start off) in purple or I'll just sign off with my name, so yee.

Hey y'all! So I mostly make cute lil' aesthetic pics/collages/gifs/wallpapers/backgrounds, and edits! I also sometimes make up headcanons (mostly for Freddy, cuz he's my manz 😽💙)- but I'm obvi not only limited to making headcanons for him. Feel free to request a specific collage/wallpaper, aesthetic pic, edit (e.g. Freddy and Anthea edit with *insert song here*. Or e.g. Billy and Freddy collage platonically, obvi. //NO SHIPPING BILLY AND FREDDY IN A ROMANTIC WAY, YOU WILL BE BLOCKED, PERIOD 💅🏻.//) (I agree with this btw, THEY'RE BROTHERS, IT'S GROSS😾🙅🏽‍♀️), or headcanons of any Shazam characters! Occasional shitposter 😃. (Me and Star are also shifters n' spiritual gals, so if you're open to that kinda stuff, feel free to dm us because we need Shazam-shifting-friends lmao). AND, I also post doodles so that's cool!!
Huge thanks to Star, my literal soulmate, for making this acc (y'all it's literally so slay- my girlie is creative n' talented af, you'll see ✨), and giving me the actual motivation to write this 🩷!!
Anyway, you'll know it's me cuz I'll either type in pink, or sign off as Moon🌙! Much love, angels <333

Girlys I love y’all so much just thought you’d know that
Getting this right as I was overthinking my work/writing and stressing with my hair and the things going on around me in life was so just... *cries* 😭💞✨️. You're so sweet, anon, thank you sfm and ily2🫶🏽.
Plus, with Moon out for a bit due to struggling with her mental health, I'm sure she'll really appreciate this, and I'll make sure she sees it as soon as she can! She'll probably update/edit this post to thank you herself, but yeah lol.
ALSO, IT'S HER BIRTHDAY PLZ SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BESTEST GIRL, SHE'D LOVE THAT🤭😻.
I promise yall, requests will get finished up soon, and more imagines will definitely be out😼.
