Day 10–Cookie Monster (25 Days of Ficmas)
A/N: I know it’s late but I’m sick and my brother was in the hospital all las week. He’s good now but it was stressful
Y/N and Shawn hadn’t known each other until six months ago. Y/N used to live in the United States and attended university there for a few years, but she longed for a change. So,when she found a good study abroad program in Canada, she didn’t waste a second to book a flight.
So now, here she was in the beautiful city of Toronto and attend Seneca College. She found a coffee shop a few blocks away from her campus and got a job there. The boss was an old women named Dinah who had lived in Toronto her whole life. She adored Y/N and quickly took her under her wing.
Sunday dinners at Dinah’s house became a weekly ritual. Dinah was a widow and thought of Y/N as her grandchild. So, it was no wonder that Dinah wanted what was best for Y/N.
“You’re 23 and you haven’t had a boyfriend since you were 21!”
“Dinah,” Y/N’s cheeks flushed, “It’s not like that. I’ve dated people, but nothing serious has happened.”
“You know, I got married to Phil when I was 18. We were having kids by 19. I don’t know what is up with you kids these days, waiting forever to get married.”
“Well, I just haven’t found the right guy.”
A mischievous smile lit up Dinah’s face. “You know the baked goods we sell at the shop?” Y/N nodded her head. “There’s an adorable boy who owns a bakery that we get them from. He’s around your age. I think he’s 24. He’s quite an ambitious man and I think you would like him.”
“Dinah! Quit trying to set me up with people.”
“Pfft. Darling, if he ain’t the one for you, I don’t know who is. The boy is drop dead gorgeous if I do say so myself. Cause Phil was really something to look at.”
“I haven’t even met him. How could you know that he is the one for me?”
“Just a gut feeling. He always gives you this puppy dog look when he drops off our delivery.”
“Oh really?” She raised her eyebrows at Dinah. “Why have I never seen or met him then.”
“You’re not the manager, are you? He drops them off at my office usually during rush hour. If you were a good employee, which I know you are, you would be busy serving those costumers. But I’ll tell you what. When he comes by with his delivery tomorrow, I’ll have you take it from him.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but agreed to it anyways. Dinah always ended up being right so there was no point in arguing with her.
*****
The next morning, Y/N spent a little extra time doing her hair and makeup so she could impress this boy of Dinah’s. And when Dinah pushed her towards the back of the coffee shop when the boy had arrived, Y/N was not disappointed.
He had chocolate curly brown hair, beautiful eyes, and a shy smile. Not to mention he was ripped. His biceps strained underneath his white t-shirt. He pulled up in a motorcycle with a basket on the front carrying boxes for their delivery.
And when he saw Y/N a light blush tinted his cheeks. “Where’s Dinah? Not that I mind seeing you here,” he winked at her.
She felt her face heat up. “Umm, she wanted me to grab the packages today. It’s nice to put a face to all the sweets that get delivered around here.”
He laughed and held out his hand to her. “I’m Shawn by the way. You’re Y/N, right? Dinah talks about you a lot to me. Always saying things like ‘You should ask that girl out on a date,’ and ‘Isn’t my Y/N so beautiful?’”
Y/N blew air out her nose in a tiny laugh. “Yep. She’s mentioned you a few times before too. She’s trying to set us up or something.”
“Seems like it. Are you upset by that?”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m going to be straight up: I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’ve been ogling at you ever since you started working here. And if that didn’t completely freak you out, would you be willing to go on a date with me?” He stared at the ground and internally kicked himself for being so awkward.
“Sure. Why not? You’re cute by the way.” And she pressed a kiss to his flushed cheek.
*****
Y/N and Shawn hit it off immediately. But don’t get me wrong, they had their fair share of fights. Mostly because the other person was jealous of someone.
Their first fight happened when Shawn was dropping off their delivery and he noticed Y/N wasn’t there to greet him. So, he decided to use the employee entrance (something he had become accustomed to since he started dating Y/N) and saw Y/N leaning over the counter and chatting it up with a tall blonde. She laughed flirtatiously and played with her hair.
He felt his jaw clench and he saw red. He marched right over to Y/N and the boy and pulled her back to Dinah’s office. Dinah passed them on the way, a quizzical look on her face as she went to go take over for Y/N. “Don’t be too long.”
“What the hell was that back there?!”
“What? Why are you yelling at me?”
He could sense the hurt in her voice, so he quickly changed his tone. “I’m sorry dove, but why were you and that guy all over each other?”
“Oh. You mean Ian. The blonde dude?” Shawn nodded his head and Y/N laughed at him. “I guess I should’ve introduced you guys. He’s my roommate’s brother.”
“And how does that make it any better?”
“He’s gay. I thought you could maybe tell from the way he was dressed.”
“Oh,” Shawn’s eyebrows raised in surprise and then he chuckled and grabbed Y/N’s hand. “I’m sorry babe. I…that was an overreaction.”
“Yea. Definitely. But I forgive you.”
“You know, when you’re jealous you get all grouchy and mean like the cookie monster.”
“A cookie monster huh? I guess that fits me. I do bake a lot of cookies.”
*****
The second time Y/N got jealous. Her shift had ended early because Dinah was being generous and had hired another employee. So, Y/N decided to walk to Shawn’s bakery. As she entered the shop, she saw a beautiful brunette girl with brown eyes. She looked to be around 20.
“Shawn! What’s taking so long?” She heard the girl whine. Whoever she was, she knew Shawn well. It made a weird feeling tumble around in Y/N’s stomach.
“I’ll be right there doll.”
Doll! That name was only reserved for Y/N. Y/N went to stand behind the girl in line, letting the girl’s height hide her from Shawn’s view when he came out from the kitchen.
“Ok, here’s your pie you’ve been wanting all week. Don’t eat it all in one night.”
She leaned over the counter and kissed Shawn’s cheek and Shawn didn’t do anything about it. As the girl started to leave the shop, Shawn spotted Y/N who stared angrily at him.
Shawn noticed his mistake and his cheeks flushed. “Aaliyah, come back!” He called to the girl who was walking out the door.
She turned around confused. “There’s someone you should meet. This is Y/N, the girl I’ve been telling you about.”
“Oh my gosh! I’ve heard so much about you! You’re even more pretty in person. Wow! Mom’s going to be so jealous when I tell her I met you!” The girl pulled Y/N into a hug and took her by surprise. Aaliyah pulled away and smiled. “I’m Shawn’s sister by the way.”
Y/N nodded her head, pulled her lips into a thin line, and closed her eyes. “I got that after you said your mom was going to be jealous. It’s nice to meet you now that I know you’re not giving my boyfriend a kiss on the cheek because you’re dating him or something.”
Aaliyah chuckled. “Yeah. You must’ve been so confused.”
Shawn rubbed the back of his neck. “All of this is my bad. If I would’ve introduced you to my family sooner none of this would’ve happened. Sorry babe.”
“It’s alright. I know I’ve been busy with college and you with this place, so I get it. I do wish that I would’ve seen a picture though.”
“You guys should come over tonight. I got this pie because I’m in charge of dessert for our family dinner. It’s just me and our parents.”
“You up for that honey?” Shawn questioned. Y/N nodded her head.
“Yeah, tonight should work.”
“Perfect. See you guys there.” She left the shop for real this time and Shawn had a smirk on his face.
“Now who’s the cookie monster.”

Day 4–The Singing Barista (25 Days of Ficmas)
A/N: Thanks for reading! Requests are open
Summary: Reader is a barista that sings every time she gets a tip
Warnings: Swear Words
Y/N was a college student struggling to pay her tuition and her student loan. She was majoring in business and minoring in English so to say she was tired was an understatement. On top of it all, she wasn’t too fond of the holidays. She thought it was just a cash grab and that Christmas music all sounded the same.
On top of it all, this was the third Christmas since she graduated that she hadn’t had a boyfriend to bring home to her family Christmas party. It was getting to be a little annoying having Grandma Helen pester her the whole time about how she would only remain young for so long. And that it would be too late to start a family if she didn’t start soon.
She would roll her eyes at her comments, but deep down she felt disappointed that she hadn’t been able to scoop up a guy for her whole college experience. And don’t get me wrong, she had been on plenty of dates, they just hadn’t gone anywhere from there.
All the college boys wanted was a party girl and Y/N was just not into that. She tried her best to do well in school and get good grades. If she was going to be paying for it, she might as well go to class and do well in it.
She lived in a dorm nearby campus and hated her roommates. They were obnoxious and constantly broke the rules. They had had the RA called on them multiple times, but her roommates didn’t give a shit. And even though Y/N didn’t participate in their underage drinking, she was still blamed for it. If they were caught drinking illegally one more time, they would be kicked out of their dorm and the school. And then Y/N would have nowhere to go.
You see, the college she went to was very small and it accepted very few people so there was hardly any housing. By now, most of the houses had been filled with all their roommates. And no one she knew owned a dorm that had available space. And she was not going to be with random roommates again because she couldn’t stand getting in trouble with the school another time.
All those factors compiled together made it really hard for her to want to go to work at the coffee shop. It was a high paying job on campus, so it saved her gas money, but there was only one problem. They had to sing anytime they got a tip. And since it was Christmas, Y/N had to sing a Christmas carol. She almost quit when her boss told her they would be switching to Christmas music, but she really needed the money.
Y/N came home from a long shift and saw the RA standing outside their room with the headmaster of the school. He sighed and looked over at Y/N. “Miss L/N, may I speak to you privately please?” Y/N nodded and followed him down the hall. She knew this couldn’t be good.
“Sir, I wasn’t a part of this. I was at work, I promise.”
“I know, I believe you. It has come to my attention that your roommates were the ones violating the rules,” he paused, and Y/N sighed. “However, due to your roommates being kicked off the campus, you will no longer be able to stay in this dorm. We do not allow students to own a dorm all to themselves. You will need to find another one come Monday. Is that alright with you?” The headmaster looked down on her with piercing blue eyes and she gulped and nodded. “Good. I’m so sorry for this inconvenience Miss L/N. The school has booked you a hotel room for the night while we get this sorted out. Please collect anything you need for the night, and we will have a campus officer take you to the hotel.”
Y/N nodded her head and turned to go inside her dorm to pack up the rest of her stuff. On the way back in, she saw her drunk roommates laughing as they were getting arrested by two policemen. She sighed and went to her room to grab her things.
*****
25 minutes later and Y/N was in the back of a campus officer’s police car on her way to a Marriot just down the road. Her backpack full of things lay at her feet and she stared out the window. What was she going to do? She had no living arrangements now and she had to have them figured out by Monday.
The officer dropped her off at the lobby of the hotel and wished her luck. She was able to get checked in and quickly walked to the elevator, wanting to get a good night’s rest before her shift at the coffee shop in the morning.
There was one other person in the elevator with her. He looked to be about her age with chocolate brown curly hair. He was wearing grey sweatpants and a white shirt that was tight around his massive biceps. “Which floor,” he questioned. Hell, even his voice was attractive.
“Tenth.” He pressed the number ten and stepped back.
“I’m staying on ten too. Hopefully we don’t make any stops—” Just as he said those words, the elevator stopped at level two. The person who got on pressed the number 1 and the elevator began its descent back to the lobby.
Shawn glanced over at Y/N who chuckled lightly. He moved to stand next to her. “Guess I shouldn’t have jinxed it huh?”
Y/ N shook her head. “Yea. That was a bad idea.”
“So, where are you from?”
“I’m from the college just down the road, but my roommates are getting kicked out right now so I can’t be there.”
Shawn sucked in a breath of air. “Ooh that’s rough. I’m sorry.” Y/N waved him off with her hand. “I’m a student at that college too. Well, I will be. I’m starting on Monday. I’m from Canada so it was a long trip here and there just getting my housing settled.”
Y/N didn’t know what to do. Maybe he had room wherever he was housing at. But she was too shy to ask, especially since she just met him.
The elevator dinged and they had reached level ten. “What room are you at?”
“1018, you?”
“1019. Guess I’m right next to you.”
They walked to their rooms together making small talk and Y/N genuinely smiled for the first time that day.
“Well, night…” She trailed off not knowing his name.
“Shawn. And you?”
“Y/N.”
“Good night, Y/N. Sleep well. Good luck with the whole roommate situation.”
“Thanks. Maybe I’ll see you around campus.”
“Yea, see you around.”
She swiped her card and walked into her room. She quickly got ready for bed and fell asleep.
Shawn lay in the next room over beating himself up over not getting her number. She was so pretty, and they were both going to the same college. But Shawn decided he shouldn’t knock on her door and disturb her. She needed her sleep. If they were supposed to meet again, fate would bring them together.
*****
The next day Y/N was jolted awake by her alarm. She slammed the button down and rolled out of bed. Her eyes were a bit swollen with tiredness, but she would have to make do. She thought about Shawn as she pulled her hair into a bun and placed her hat over it. She really did hope she would seem him at their college. Or maybe even before then.
She the 15 minutes back to her campus and to the coffee shop. She put her apron on and got ready to serve the first costumers of the day. A lot of them would leave tips just to hear her sing and she had to pretend that she enjoyed torturing their ears with her off key singing.
It was ten in the morning, and she was already feeling drained. “Welcome, what can I get for you,” she said in a less than friendly manner to the customer without looking up from the cash register.
“Hi. Could I get a hot chocolate with whip cream on it. And I’d also like to know when you get off?”
Y/N glanced up recognizing that voice. It was Shawn from the elevator. She saw the smirk on his face, and she felt her cheeks go hot with embarrassment. “I am so sorry for talking to you like that.”
“Don’t sweat it. You’re stressed, I get it.”
She typed his order into the system, but Y/N decided to use her employee rewards and pay for it herself. “It’s on the house. You made my night a lot better so let me do this for you.”
She quickly made his drink and handed it to him. “What’s this?” He pointed to the tip jar and saw the sign that said, ‘Tip for me to sing a song.’
“Please don’t pay attention to that. You don’t need to tip me.”
“I know. But I would love to hear you sing.”
He placed the ten-dollar bill he was intending to pay with into the jar. Y/N sent him the evil eye and he chuckled.
“I’m not doing it.”
“Oh, but you have to. If you don’t, I’ll report you to your manager.”
Y/N groaned. “Which Christmas carol would you like?”
“Hmm. What about ‘All I want for Christmas is You?’”
“For real?” He nodded. “Fine.” Y/N burst into an awful sounding rendition of Mariah Carrie’s famous song and even Shawn was getting second-hand embarrassment for her.
“Ok, that’s enough,” he chuckled as she immediately stopped. “So, when do you get off?”
Y/N looked down at her watch. “Five minutes, why?”
“I was wondering if you could tour me around campus.”
Five minutes later and Y/N and Shawn were holding hands and walking through the crisp winter morning. “So, did you find a new place to live? Since you got kicked out and everything?”
“No. Unfortunately not.”
“Well, I’ve been thinking. You’re a pretty girl. And I’m not just doing this because your pretty, but what if I gave you the apartment I’m going to be staying at? I have some buddies who need a dorm mate, and I could easily live with them. You need it more than me.”
Y/N was appalled. “Shawn…I can’t let you do that.”
“Please, I insist. And hey, if we end up becoming better friends, I could always move back in.” He sent her a breathtaking smile.
“Well, I mean, I guess. Thank, thank you so much! You are a life saver!”
“Anything for you milady. Well, there is a cost.” He said with a coy smile on his face.
“I’ll pay anything, I’m just really grateful for you.”
“Ok. I just want your number and to go on a date with you. Last night after you went into your room, I debated knocking on your door and asking for it, but I thought it would be weird. Luckily, I found you.”
Y/N chuckled and typed in her phone number to Shawn’s phone.
“Thank you, my awful singer friend.”
“Wow, how dare you offend my singing.”
“You have to admit it was pretty bad.”
“Ok, you’re right.” Maybe she was a bad singer, but she might have found somebody to take home to her GrandmaHelen.

💡 Christmas Light Show💡 (Day 6 of 12 Days of Christmas Series)
Summary: Shawn, his family, and Y/N drive thru a Christmas Light Show
Warnings: Fluff
Day 6
💡 Christmas Light Show
“Aaliyah, your father, and I wanted to go to the Night of Lights down in Toronto. We’re wondering if you wanted to come.”
The Night of Lights was a Christmas tradition that the Mendes family went to every year. Shawn vividly remembers that being one of his favorite things to do around Christmas time. Shawn hadn’t gone to it last year because he was so busy with tour, but he was excited to be able to go this year. He couldn’t wait to sit on top of Manny’s car as they drove through the colorful light displays, Y/N sitting next to him, her head on his shoulder.
“Can Y/N come?” He shyly questioned. He knew his family loved her, but he didn’t know how they felt about her joining in on all their Christmas traditions. Y/N’s family lived in the States, so she couldn’t see them or do anything with them for Christmas. He could tell how much she wanted to see her family because she would talk about it every day. He always felt bad going over to his family’s house to watch a Christmas movie and not inviting her. He was just worried about making either party feel uncomfortable.
Karen chuckled on the other side of the line. “I think Aaliyah would kill me if I said she wasn’t joining us this year. She adores her, we all do. She’s always welcome to all our family things, I hope you know that, and she knows that.” Shawn smiled softly. That was all he wanted for Christmas; his girlfriend and his family to be together.
“Thanks, mom, love you.”
“Bye sweetie.”
He heard the phone line hang up and Brian shoved him lightly. “You’re so smitten bro, it’s insane. You’ve only known her for like a month and you’ve got it really bad. I mean, just listening to you write this song about her, the devotion. Gosh, I hope I find someone like her.”
Shawn glanced around the studio at all the other people nodding their heads at Brian’s statement. Shawn felt his cheeks turning red. “I don’t know how I got this lucky.” He paused thinking about Y/N and everything he loved about her. “Let’s finish this song, yeah?”
***
Shawn took Y/N out to dinner later that night because they hadn’t been on a date in a week, and they were craving some alone time together. They held hands on top of the table and Shawn stroked his thumb along the back of her hand.
“And then, my boss was like, ‘Y/N, this is one of the best written articles I have ever seen. You’re promoted. I want you to write all the front-page articles for our company!’ And I wanted to scream and shout and jump for joy, but I was still in the office, so I asked for a bathroom break, then I went outside, and I probably looked like a maniac to the people walking down the street, but it was one of the happiest moments of my life.”
Shawn was grinning from ear to ear, listening to his girl talk about her achievements in the work force. “Baby, I am so incredibly proud of you, that’s amazing! You’ve worked so hard for this, and I know you are the best fit person for the job!”
Y/N curled into herself, embarrassed that her boyfriend was giving her so much praise. She didn’t like to be in the spotlight all that much. “You really think so,” she cringed at how insecure she sounded.
He nodded his head, bringing her hand up to his mouth and kissing it, “I know so.”
***
The big, fluffy snow in the Toronto sky made Aaliyah jump up and down in her seat. She loved the snow, and she also loved the Night of Lights, especially because Y/N was sitting in the back of the car, next to her brother, as they waited in line. They had brought Manny’s truck because Shawn and Aaliyah’s weight had bent the roof of the car the last time they had come.
As soon as they had the go ahead from the workers, Shawn, Aaliyah, and Y/N jumped out of the car and into the bed of Manny’s truck. Shawn sat down in the far-left corner of the truck and beckoned Y/N to come sit in his lap. She slowly sat down, trying to be careful not to crush Shawn. She had never sat in his lap before, and she was a little nervous. She laid her head against his chest and shudder as she felt his breath on her neck.
“You cold babe?” He whispered.
“You two are gross,” Aaliyah said, as she sat down next to Shawn and was sticking her tongue out at him. He lightly pushed her, before giving Y/N a kiss on the cheek.
He wrapped a fluffy blanket around the three of them as they drove through the colorful lights. Sleigh Ride was the first song to come up and the lights danced around them to the song. Shawn patted Y/N’s thigh to the beat. She shot him a look before intertwining her hands with his.
“What?” He sounded so innocent, but he knew that it bugged the crap out of her when he patted her thigh to the beat of a song.
“Wow, Mendes. Very sneaky way to get me to hold your hand.”
He turned a light red before pointing at the light up reindeer above them. “Look, it’s Rudolph!”
“Shawn, we all have eyes that can see!” Aaliyah chuckled at her brother’s antics.
“You know, whenever you go outside, you’re nose looks as red as Rudolph’s. It’s adorable honestly,” Shawn whispered in her ear.
“Hmm, I’m glad that I’m being compared to a Reindeer,” she laughed along with him as he bopped her nose with his finger and then rubbed his nose against hers.
“You’re way cuter, I love you,” he gushed to her.
“I love you too.” She lay her head back down on his chest and in that moment, he had never felt more at home. Not with his parents, not with his sister, not in his condo, not even in his childhood home. Because Y/N felt like home to him, and the realization of that, stunned him for the rest of the light show. He watched the brilliant colors fly by, but he didn’t pay much attention to them, choosing to stare at the girl, his girl, sitting in his lap.
“You okay babe?” Y/N questioned when they had finally made it through the entire maze of lights.
His eyes were watery, and he could feel a tear about to fall, but he nodded his head. “I’ve never been better.” And that statement was the truest sentence he had ever told.
A/N: Thanks for reading this, sorry if it was kinda short. Day 7 comes out tomorrow!

👕 Ugly Sweaters 👕 (Day 8 of 12 Days of Christmas)
Summary: Y/N meets Shawn‘s fans over Instagram Live, and Y/N and Shawn make ugly Christmas Sweaters
Warnings: None…Lots of fluff
Day 8
👕 Ugly Sweaters
“Hey guys! Thanks for joining my live! Wow, there are so many of you already.” Shawn watched as the little eye in the corner of his screen had the number 10k next to it. It still amazed him every day how many people supported him. Shawn ran his hands through his hair and smiled at Y/N who was on the other side of his phone, hiding from the camera.
She was carrying a box in her hand that was full of books. He chuckled at her as she set it down on the coffee table and wiped her brow. She had always been a reader and he was glad that she would be adding new books to his small collection in his library (which really was just a tiny corner of his apartment with a cozy chair and three floor to ceiling bookshelves).
@shawnismyfavorite: Who is he looking at?
@lolmendesarmy: K, who is making my boy smile like that?
@mylifeisshawn: You gonna tell us why you looking off in the distance?
Shawn looked back down at his phone screen and chuckled at the comments. “You guys are all asking what I’m looking at.” Shawn and Y/N had agreed that they were going to announce their relationship to the fans on this Instagram live, but Y/N hadn’t known that Shawn had already started it. She gave him a wide-eyed look and he smirked.
He gestured with his hand for her to come over to him, but she shook her head. He furrowed his eyebrows. “Hold on, just one second,” he said to his phone.
He stood from his chair and set his guitar down. He walked towards Y/N and grabbed her wrists, pulling them up to his chest. “What are you worried about hun,” he whispered softly.
“I…I didn’t know you had started the live yet, I was hoping I would look a little more presentable.”
He chuckled at her, looking her up and down. She was in a light blue sweatshirt (his light blue sweatshirt), and she had leggings on. Her hair fell in soft curls around her face, and she had no makeup on, but Shawn thought she looked gorgeous. “Baby, you look beautiful. Now come on, don’t be shy.”
She shook her head at him and planted her feet into the ground as he tried to pull her over to his phone. “Do you want to do this or not?” his eyes softened as he stroked her cheek.
“I do, I really do, but I’m scared. What if you’re fans all hate me?”
“Well, I’ll protect you. I’ll make sure they play nice.” He kissed her forehead and lifted her off the ground. “Tell me to stop if you don’t want to meet my fans.” He carried her over to the chair he had previously been sitting in and paused before they went into view of the camera. “Yes or no Y/N.”
“Fine, yes!” she squeaked out as he sat down on the chair and pulled her into his lap.
He smiled at the screen and the comments started to blow up. “Okay, so this is my gorgeous girlfriend Y/N. Please be nice to her, she’s not used to being in the spotlight.”
Y/N hid her head in Shawn’s chest and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Baby, they have a few questions for you. Do you want to answer them?”
She slowly turned her head to the screen and glanced at all the comments.
@shawnforlife: Hi! You’re gorgeous, what’s your favorite color.
“Umm, to answer your question @shawnforlife, I’m going to have to go with forest green. It’s just such a pretty, prominent color. And I grew up by a forest, so it reminds me of home.” Shawn rubbed his fingers up and down Y/N’s waist and sent her an encouraging squeeze.
@shawnmendesishot: How long have you guys been dating?
“@shawnmendesishot, we’ve been dating for, I think a month and a half. I don’t know. Gosh, it feels longer than it has been. Has it really only been a month and a half?” She glanced at Shawn questioningly.
He looked up at the ceiling, thinking. “Yeah, I think so. But gosh, it does feel like it’s been way longer!” He kissed her cheek and she started to answer another question.
Y/N and Shawn were on live for twenty more minutes, before they decided that they had been on for long enough. “All right, well we love you guys, and hopefully we’ll be able to do another live soon!”
They blew kisses at the camera and logged off the live.
“You were amazing babe!”
“Yeah, only because I had you here. I struggled at first. Gosh, how do you do that!”
“Practice baby, practice!” He kissed her gently on the lips. “So, the Mendes family has a huge holiday party in a few weeks, and everyone has to wear ugly Christmas Sweaters that they have to make. But, but, but I have a twist. What if we made each other ugly Christmas Sweaters that the other person has to wear to the party? Which, by the way, whoever wins gets to take home the golden snowman for an entire year!?”
“The golden snowman?”
“The golden snowman is the best prize in this universe, better than a Grammy if I do say so myself. I’ve never won it, but I want to this year. Please say you’ll help me,” he pouted his lip and made a puppy eye face that Y/N couldn’t resist.
“Fine! But we have to go to the store and buy everything if we’re going to make these ourselves!”
***
“No, start with the brown along the outside!”
“But babe, we have to make the fireplace! I’m putting the fire in first.”
“Shawn,” she exasperatedly sighed, “Put the big brown square first, then work your way in from there! Like this!” She took the piece of fabric and glued it into the middle of the bright red sweater. “I’ve already cut everything out; it really shouldn’t be this hard.” She pinched the bridge of her nose.
“Well, clearly I’m not a fashion designer so I have no idea how to work this.”
“Honey, all you have to do is look at the picture and go biggest to smallest with the squares. Then, with the fire, place the logs down in the middle of the black square, and put the fire on top. If you have questions, ask me.”
She turned away from him, gluing the white triangles onto her red sweater. They had decided to decorate their sweaters as the Elf on the Shelf. Shawn was going to be the shelf/fireplace, and Y/N was going to be the elf. He was going to balance her on his shoulders so that it looked like she was sitting on him.
“Oh, we are definitely winning this year. You’re the smartest babe! Thanks for coming up with this idea.”
Y/N chuckled at Shawn. “It’s been on my Pinterest board for years. I’ve been waiting until I found a guy worthy enough to carry me on his shoulders and be my shelf.”
“Well, I’m glad I could be that guy then.”
A/N: Day 9 is going to be the holiday party they go to where they will wear these Christmas sweaters. Will they get the golden snowman? Idk, I guess you’ll have to see. As always, like, comment, vote, give feedback! Thanks, I love you all and stay tuned for Day 9!
