Mark Millar’s works are becoming more formulaic and less original. This is a fun read nonetheless.

Sharkey the Bounty Hunter #4 - Image Comics
By Mark Millar & Simone Bianchi
Sharkey is losing so hard, he’s winning!
But in all seriousness, losing the bounty literally save his life. He also gets to avoid the pained moral conflict of releasing the one activist who can bring down an oppressive, warlord-based government system or turning her in for boatloads of cash. I have a feeling this series will end with an unchanged, still-broke Sharkey as well as a dismantled oppressive government. And honestly, which one would you prefer?
Spoiler: I’d prefer the dismantled oppressive government.

What’s Out This Week? 2/20
We’re super hype for our Tom King signing this weekend. See you there?
Love Romances #1 - Dennis Hopeless, Pyeong Jun Park & Various
Can robots fall in love? Is romance just a fantasy? Can love breach the corridor of death? All these questions and more in this new standalone special!
Sharkey the Bounty Hunter #1 (of 6) - Mark Millar and Simone Bianchi
Sharkey is a blue-collar bounty hunter who tracks criminals across the galaxy in his converted, rocket-powered ice-cream truck. Aided and abetted by his ten-year-old partner, he's out for the biggest bounty of his career.
Stronghold #1 - Phil Hester and Ryan Kelly
Our planet is actually a prison designed to both trap and shelter an amnesiac alien entity of incalculable power. Now known as Michael Grey, this cosmic angel of destruction currently believes himself to be an ordinary, midwestern insurance underwriter, who belongs to a global secret society dedicated to making sure he never discovers the truth about his past. To make matters worse, our hero has fallen in love with Michael Grey. And for their love to be born, Earth must die.
High Level #1 - Rob Sheridan, Barnaby Bagenda, and Romulo Fajardo
Hundreds of years after the world ended and human society was rebuilt from scratch, a self-interested smuggler is forced to traverse a new continent of danger and mystery to deliver a child messiah to High Level, a mythical city at the top of the world from which no one has ever returned.
Whatcha snagging this week, Fantomites?

Sharkey’s got gambling debts and a soft spot for sad case kids. He’s more bluster than he is hardcase and that’s how he won me over. When the universe’s largest bounty falls in his lap as he’s transporting a tag along soon to be adolescent side kick, Sharkey’s got to out: wit, shoot, fight, fly, and trash talk the competition and the bad guys to survive. Sumptuous art throughout.

Sharkey the Bounty Hunter #2 - Image Comics
By Mark Millar & Simone Bianchi
Extra-Billy is a little odd. Sharkey’s the nicest guy he’s met? C’mon! He’s really coming on too strong. The kid could definitely be that naive, but there has to be another shoe to fall, right? Maybe the kid is just super useful, like he claims! Best ship pilot ever because he helped his family escape heists?
I mean, I believe it, but I don’t believe that he felt “proud” at being called Sharkey’s son. He definitely could come in handy for Sharkey though. Sharkey might be the best tracker in the galaxies, with whatever that power was, but something tells me that he lacks in other skills - and escaping might come in handy.
The artwork just continues to impress!
