I have never related more to a post in my life. That "I have Genuine Opinions about this character but my Horniness wants to turn them into a Slut" take is so fucking hot my guy, you don't even know.

I could get into a whole deep and nuanced rant about TFA Optimus and my Opinions™ about him, but right now the takeaway is that this Optimus is (imo) a version of Orion Pax that has the preemptive title of Prime that hasn't fully come into his own yet and still learning the in and outs of being a leader.

I'm seeing anons going the route of Shareware AU Orion being quick to overload with genuine pleasure, and I am nodding approvingly. At the same time I think it'd be interesting if, instead of that, Orion actually took a solid while to build up to the point of overloading with charge.

He's been shareware his entire life- his frame has likely adjusted to heavy stimulation at this point, of all kinds. Plus, as a cogless mech, he'd probably had charge dumped on him near-constantly, which means his frame is used to holding high levels of charge without much release. Shareware Orion, despite having seen a good amount of freaky stuff in the berth, learns so much about himself and his own frame with Elita, Jazz, and Dee that he never had the chance to feel as a 'drone'.

He learns that a glossa lightly tracing his valves and nodes are enough to get him bucking and grabbing at the helm between his legs, trying to drag whoever's doing it closer. He learns that digits inside his valves feel good, pressing against nodes that have only ever been hurt with just enough pressure to send charge crackling through his frame. He learns that he likes being hugged from behind as someone teases his valves, held close to Dee's warm frame as he and Elita team up to work his valves open. He learns that he likes being kissed, likes opening his mouth to let Jazz lick into it. He learns just how sensitive his anterior nodes can be after a whole shift of charge building and mounting in his core, and just how quickly he's shaking apart on Dee's fingers when the silver mech plays with them.

He's also learning what he doesn't like- that he doesn't like hands anywhere near his neck during interface. That biting is a strong maybe depending on the day, where nibbling is alright. He learns that hands anywhere near his cog hole are enough to get him shutting down in memories of the pain of too-rough handling of oversensitive nodes and seams in it, and fingers in his mouth is a close second to that. There's a blue and red mech in the alley with a frame riddled with scratches and slashes, some so deep they're even leaking energon. (Orion had to make sure not a mark of his buymech status remained) Obviously he takes the mech to the barrack doctor. During the treatment the doctor find that this mystery mech is no where in their systems. At all. Which is incredibly weird and concerning. It's not a problem they've ever encountered before. While they try to figure this out, D-16 please watch over this guy for a bit? He seems to have some processor damage with how weird he is though...

Idk, just the idea of an Orion imprinting on D and it being a weird and complex thing because his only method of interaction with others before has been through transactional interface and he's now interacting with this guy who was so repressed at the beginning of the film... plus the constant fear that the friends he's making will find out he's "not a real mech". Sorry I'm writing this late at night so this probably makes no sense, but I hope I'm at least communicating The Vibe.

No I think I understand what you are getting at.

Orion has known nothing bit intimate touch so to have someone not want that and instead just want to be his friend. It's a learning curve. And hrs trying so hard to be a normal mech and learn how to be normal.

It's hard. It's really really hard. And if he makes a wrong move they'll bring him back to become a shareware again. He does not want that. So he's trying. And for trying Dee thinks that's there's something wrong with him. But being miners they can't help out in getting him fixed, just help him by figuring out his ticks.

I love that Shareware Orion is high key a divine presence.

The miners have realized the cause and effect. That if he's happy the mines are safe. That his laughter means everyone is coming back whole that day. No tunnel collapses or injuries. And they like him so it's no burden to try and keep him happy. And that makes it personal when he's taken.

Fully missing that their actions are arguably worship. They're acolytes to a minor deity of mine safety that found them by accident.

Primus is probably amused.

Imagine Sentinel tries to find him again and Primus goes nah and canonizes Orion. Prime of the Cogless. Prime of the Low Castes. Prime of the Voiceless.

He is, He is 100% a miner deity

They all realize that Since Orion came that there has been no accident, they start to document what happens and realize that Orion is a beacon of light in the mines.

Primus is very much amused and throwing shade at Sentinel "see now this is a Prime, unlike you."

Feel like Orion might have mixed feelings about getting Prima’s t-cog. Alpha Trion picks up on this and asks about it. Orion shares that Sentinel had him act like Prima, said he looked like him, etc. Alpha didn’t realize he could feel any angrier at Sentinel but he does.

But seeing the poor sad Orion keeps him calm and he goes right to soothing Orion.

“Would you like to hear what the real Prima was like?” Alpha Trion asks.

“D told me about him and the other Primes.”

“But did he tell you that Prima liked to sing, terribly, in the wash racks?”

Orion laughs and the ex miners eagerly listen during their journey to Alpha Trion’s personal account of the 13.

It helps Orion a lot to know more about Prima and makes him feel proud to carry his t-cog. He feels in a way, that having a part of Prima with him to take down Sentinel is poetic justice.

He would have mix feelings of getting Prima's T-cog, but after hearing the stories, he is ready to take the t-cog, and wow he is so pretty, and strong.

The three can't help but marvel at Orion's new frame, while Orion is marveling at everyone else.

also DOORWING JAZZ. I think Jazz wouldn't know what to do, hed freeze because all of a sudden his clumsiness is gone, He doesn't feel a constant helm ache, and can react faster.

This verson of Orion would have so many oddities...

Most of them they get to learn through experience. like the time Jazz claps his hand on Orion's shoulder with barely any force and Orion just drops to his knees, settling on the floor in front of Jazz before blinking and pushing himself back up when everyone else looked confused. like the time Dee picks him up by the hips to move him out of danger's way and everything is too loud and chaotic for anyone to hear the soft snck of panels attempting to pull back. like the time Orion accidentally calls Elita master, they still haven't stopped teasing him for that. like the time Darkwing grabs Orion by the neck and instead of tensing up or fighting back, Orion goes limp, optics hooding as he just... lets Darkwing hold him.

a hand on his shoulder was the signal to drop, let a patron use his mouth until they were done. grabbing at his hips meant he needed to open and just deal with the pain of a cogged spike spearing into an unprepared, cogless valve. it was blue light protocol, to call the patrons master. if he's grabbed by his neck, he knows to go limp and just let the mech have their way with him. each and every time this happens, Orion gets more and more baffled when no one does what he's learned to expect

I Love this!! Everytime someone does something that he knows is the correct way. He just gets so confused when they all look at him worriedly. Jazz: "You alright mech, I didn't mean to push you that hard?" As he helps up Orion.

D-16: " Sorry for picking you up like that, instinct." He places him down before having to keep a hold of him until his body reactivats. Elita: "Don't call me master, but you can call me commander" Orion is still supper embarresed. Jazz and the others will not let him live that down.

Darkwing: "Are you broken? Get back up and get to work." As he thrown to the ground and the others come around him to see if he's ok.

Everything Orion has been taught, he now has to unlearn, because every time he does something, he gets weird looks, worried looks. Those are not looks normal mechs should be getting. He will try and fight the coding, but it's hard, really hard to break what he's been taught.

I can see Sentinel making Orion participate in some twisted interface RP that he's Prima with his cog removed, this being before Orion's first escape so he doesn't even know who the primes are because why would a drone need to know history,

On that note how do you think Orion reacted the first time he saw a Prime Time news holo, i think Dee would be too absorbed in the announcement to notice but Elita & Jazz definitely notice Orion freezing up & freaking out because he knows how possessive that regular is, possessive enough that he's etched his sigil/name into & maybe under Orion's plating several times over, it always took so long to buff the marks out especially if they were carved into soft protoform, maybe he still has one on the inside of his top valve cover because it's too sensitive to buff

As for Orion viewing Prime time news for the first time, he is again mortified, He locks up, fear in his optics Dee doesn't see but Elita and Jazz do, they bring him away to vent, and he starts to cry, hes grabbing at his helm and denting himself, the two have to pull his arms away, trying to make him not harm himself. But he's crying shrinking in on himself. saying no no no all over. And they can do nothing but watch.

Sentinel had to do something with Orion's trauma.

That night they tell Dee about it, they know he idolizes him, but after seeing Orion break down. that light they had for him shuttered. And the hatred would even grow if they get more physical with each other and see the very obvious Sentinels name on his valve. They help him buff it out, Jazz being gentle as the other two hold him, comforting him.

I just realized something: Where's B-127 during the Shareware Orion AU?

B-127 is at the brothel. He is one of the older more experienced mechs, and takes those under his arm whenever he can.

He was Orions mentor. And a good friend. Orion would go and cry to him after rough sessions mostly with Sentinel. It was Bee who showed him books and how to read.

He's the reason Orion escaped.

Bee doesn't want to leave the brothel. Because if he leaves who will look after those who can't stand up for themselves. So he told Orion to leave and never look back.

Until he saw him again 6 months later, battered, dented, dirty as hell, and told to clean him up for Sentinels arrival.

Imagine how much worse it gets when Sentinel realizes Orion’s not just cogged but has Prima’s cog. Cue taunting about how having a cog doesn’t make him any less of a frag toy, right “Prima”?

the Iacon Guard attacking the High Guard would go MUCH differently this go-around. especially since i'm assuming Airachnid knows what Orion looks like, and she knows that Sentinel's been in a snit about his favorite piece of shareware being gone. he has a cog now, but that coloration is distinctive, and the way he freezes on seeing her confirms that he's the same mech.

instead of Dee getting stolen this go around, it's Jazz and Orion :^)
