Another Spring Request
27. Allergies with Shang-Chi
Happy Writing
A/N - AWWWW, I love this Stella! Thanks for requesting a cute Shang Chi prompt, bestie!
Summary - Shang loved the spring. You on the other hand, hate it.
Warnings - Only some fluff!
"How are you feeling?"
"Like shit,"
"Shouldn't have asked,"
You blew your nose and tossed the ruined tissue into the waste bin next to your bed, then you reached over to use some nasal spray. Shang was sitting on the edge of your bed with an amused tone. Your nose was red and runny, your eyes glossy and tears threatening to come out from constant sneezing, and the perfect afternoon that Shang planned out was ruined.
All thanks to your allergies.
You two barely started dating, only for a month, and you still have that new relationship feeling between the pair of you. Katy was the one who got you two together, and she was immensely proud that you two were an official item. Shang was shy when he asked you out on a date, which was nothing rather big but a trip to a food truck parking lot and then a small trolley ride to one of his favorite parks.
He wanted it nice and simple, a great tip he got from Katy since he asked her plenty of questions about you and what you liked. You found it quite sweet that he wanted to do his research through Katy,, and once he confessed that to you, a blush was on his cheeks.
You kissed his cheek in return, almost having him pass out cold.
But now that Spring that came to the city, Shang wanted to take you out to the flowers that just bloomed right outside of the major city. You thought it was a great idea until you got hit with your allergies halfway through the date.
Thank goodness for Shang being considerate and taking you right home.
"Katy should be back with your medicine," Shang said as he looked at his phone for the time.
"I can manage with my nose drops for now," You pressured him as you sat up in your bed and rubbed your tired eyes, "I've had worse when I was younger,"
"I still feel bad, and you told me you had allergies," Shang said in a remorseful tone as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. You gave him a grin, seeing the torn look on his face and wishing to brighten his spirits.
"For the fact that we've been only dating for a month, I won't hold this one against you. Now the next time this happens, I will," You teased, Shang giving you a small look. You had to smile at the situation since you knew that this was a simple allergy that would happen to you constantly.
"Shang, it's gonna be okay," You said to him calmly, "You did good with the flower fields. I just didn't take my medicine beforehand, and I tend to forget to do that a lot,"
"I know, I just wanted to make it special and perfect," Shang explained, you raised an eyebrow at him.
"Since when do I want perfect?" You questioned, seeing him pause and freeze as you went on, "Perfection is boring! There's nothing truly good and joyful that comes from being perfect."
Shang paused, drinking in what you told him as you grinned and leaned back against your pillows. You only heard some of his background and childhood, and you knew he was always under pressure even as a little boy. Although he did leave some big pieces of his life out from your talks and conversations, you knew he would tell you in his own time. But you knew Shang knew all about perfection and striving for it. And maybe hearing you tell him not to be perfect with you, shook his core for a moment.
"I hate perfection," You reminded him calmly, "I just want you. And I would hope you'd want me, allergies and all,"
Shang had to chuckle at how you were attempting to break him out of his mind racing and his low mood.
"It's true! My allergies are so bad in the Spring, not to mention how I can't take on spicey food for the life of me. And flowers, don't get me anywhere near roses! I would take peonies and daisies any day,"
"Good to know," Shang replied in his light tone, the burden was finally lifted off of him, "And just so you know, I want you too,"
"I'm glad we're on the same page," You hummed, Shang leaning in to kiss you as you were ready for him. But you sneezed right before he could, Shang dodging the sneeze just in time as you groaned and blew your nose again.
"I promise to try and not kill you on our next date. We're going to go to the movies," Shang said in a chuckle.
The End.

protector- shangqi
pairings: xu shangqi x reader warnings: bruises, physical assault, asshole boss about: requested! (DA32) “are those bruises?” + (DA19) “touch her, and i’ll murder you.” a/n: my darling requester i am SO sorry. it doesn’t usually take me this long to finish a request, but i have been exhausted this week fro some reason, and i couldn’t figure out how to end this. i hope you enjoy anyway!
you can barely gather enough strength to push the door of your shared apartment open, weighed down by the bags under your eyes and the fact that you were supposed to leave work over two hours ago. your forehead knocks against the cool entrance of your home, eyes shut in emotional exhaustion as the key in your hand blindly tries to find the lock. you groan softly when you continuously miss it, hitting your head a few times in frustration. you’re barely lifting yourself off of the door, eyeing the lock, and aiming the key when the door swings open, your boyfriend standing in the frame with furrowed brows. “y/n?”
at the sight of him, you step into your apartment and press your face against his chest, loosely wrapping your arms around his waist as he returns the favor with a tighter grip, still a little confused as he shuts the door behind you. “shangqi,” you mumble out, words muffled by his chest, “i missed you,” you continue, nuzzling your nose against the soft material of his shirt.
he’d been gone the past few days for a mission, and while you would usually make a bigger deal out of his return--meaning balloons and some poorly made dessert that he’ll eat anyways and definitely not you, exhausted, and on the verge of frustrated tears--you had been so tired lately, and you were back home too late for anything, anyways.
“i missed you too,” shangqi trails off, pressing his lips to your head as a comfort that works. “are you okay?” he asks.
“i’m better now,” you shrug, completely honest considering the way you can feel the energy you’d lost at your job rushing back into you with the smell of shangqi. “‘don’t even think i need the nap i was gonna take when i came home.”
“are you sure? i don’t think it’ll hurt,” shangqi debates, his worries utterly clear in his tone.
you force a breathy laugh from your throat, nodding, “you trying to get rid of me?”
“never,” shangqi replies immediately. “but, i am trying to get you to maybe watch a movie with me?” he baits, knowing full well that there’s no point in arguing with you when you’re so stubborn, instead planning to put on one of the movies that never fails to make you fall asleep, if not only for you to rest a little.
“that,” you begin, lifting your head from his chest but not moving from your place in his arms. “sounds like a great idea,” you smile, pecking his lips before letting him pull you to the couch, where you sink into him again.
shangqi puts on the movie he remembers katie raving about, dramatically groaning at you each time you fell asleep. none of you had any idea what it was about it, but you were always knocked out cold by the first twenty minutes, less if you were as tired as you seemed to be.
you glance at him when you notice the movie he’s choosing, poking him, “shangqi…” you warn, catching onto his plan.
“what?” he feigns innocence, throwing his arm around you to pull you even closer, “‘felt like watching it. you know how great the ending is.”
you don’t. which is why the lie is so damning.
you only grumble and settle in beside him, basking in his warmth and pressing stray kisses to whichever place you can reach, happy to have him back. you’re asleep seven minutes in.
-
an hour later, you’re shimmying your shoulders in the kitchen, moving your hips to a song you hadn’t been able to get out of your head for a while before shangqi left. you’re making something for both you and him to eat--nothing too hard, of course; shangqi has made sure to assign you something you can’t burn, something you appreciate after the last time you’d almost burnt down the apartment.
shangqi is eyeing you from the hallway where he’d just come out of the bathroom, a small smile crinkling his eyes as he enjoys seeing you in your element, a welcomed difference to who you had been when you walked through the door. he walks up behind you, placing a gentle hand on your hip and another one on your stomach to turn you around, meeting the brightness of your smile once you meet his eye. you continue dancing distractedly, a wider grin taking up your face when he begins to dance, too.
you turn a little too fast and bump into a counter, wincing when your hip comes in contact with the marble and letting a small sound of pain slip out. shangqi frowns, watching your hand as it rubs at the covered wound. “what’s wrong?”
you lift up your shirt, scrunching your nose when you catch the colored skin underneath. rolling your eyes, you wave him off as you drop your shirt, “it’s nothing. accident at work, my boss accidentally pushed me when we were in the kitchen.”
the frown never completely leaves shangqi’s face, eyes drifting to the place where your bruise was throughout the rest of the night.
-
the next morning, you’re out of the bed and nearly at the door before shangqi is even waking up, the brunt of the mission hitting like a train by the time he’d let his head hit the pillow. you’re rushing inside the bedroom, scurrying around to look for something and say goodbye to your boyfriend when he wakes up. he’s barely awake, the world blurry around him when he catches handprint-shaped darkened skin around your wrist as you reach for something. you don’t note his distress as he sits up, examining the skin that had been fine before he’d left as you mumble an aha, getting ready to leave your boyfriend.
“okay, found it. i love you and i will see yo--”
“is that a bruise?” shangqi interrupts, voice serious and completely awake as he moves towards you, gently grabbing your arm to examine the injury closer.
you look down at your wrist, laughing dismissively way as you try to take your wrist back. “it’s nothing--”
“that’s not nothing, y/n. who did that to you?” shangqi demands, tone still kind but pleading.
you swallow, scoffing lightly with a playful smile, “it’s just an accident at work yesterday,” you begin, the excuse something he’d heard before, “he just grabbed me a little too hard--”
“who?” shangqi insists.
finally giving in, you sigh, “my boss. he was just in a bad mood, i’m honestly fine.”
“was he the same one who pushed you and gave you that?” shangqi asks, pointing at the place on your hip where another bruise resided.
“yes,” you admit after a second of stubborn silence, crossing your arms protectively over your chest.
“did you tell someone--”
“i’m fine.” you cut him off, “it was just a one-time thing, he was in a bad mood and he apologized right after.”
“y/n,” shangqi starts, grabbing the hand belonging to the unscathed arm, “please tell me if it happens again. i think you should go to someone higher-up than him with this anyways--” at the look on your face, he stops himself, “but, i know that you love your job and you're not going to do that, so i’m not going to force you to, but if this happens again--”
“i will.” you promise, “i’ll tell you or i’ll tell his boss. she’s really good about that kind of thing. but i need to go now.”
“okay,” shangqi sighs, not happy with the way you were going about it, but not wanting to force you into something you didn’t want. “i love you, have a good day.”
“i love you, too,” you say, kissing his forehead, “i’ll be back soon.” you wave at him before you leave, giving him a view of the bruise outlining your wrist.
it leaves him with an ugly taste in his mouth that he can’t seem to shake.
-
it’s almost your lunchtime when he notices you’d forgotten your wallet at the kitchen island, the memory of you bustling about in the morning as you looked for what he assumed was this. poking his tongue against his cheek, he decides to visit you at work to bring it to you, knowing you’ll probably need it to buy food, and if your asshole boss happens to be there… then why not take advantage of the opportunity to introduce himself?
he’s at your workplace in ten minutes, swinging around your sugar mommy wallet as he walks inside the building. he greets hans, the receptionist that already knows him by how many times he’s come in to eat with you, and makes small talk while he signs in before he’s able to go see you, face already brightening when he sees you in your element, practically glowing.
the smile that’s beginning to grow on his face disappears completely once your boss comes into the picture, harsh words he’s probably spewing at you making your face drop. shangqi speeds up, trying to listen to what your boss is saying when he suddenly grabs your injured wrist with an angry hand, pulling you closer and spitting words in your face.
shangqi isn’t sure how he got in the middle of both of you so quickly, hands already extended to shove him away from you and standing in front of you as a protective barrier, features contorted into a dangerous snarl.
“who are you? what the fuck are you doing in my building?” he barks, coming closer to the both of you. shangqi can feel your fingers tangling themselves in his shirt, but you don’t move away from him.
“no, what are you doing putting your hands on her?”
“i don’t think any of this concerns you--”
“i can assure you it does when you’re leaving bruises on my girlfriend.”
your boss’ eyes flit to you, settling on your still figure, “you went and complained? you pathetic---” he begins to lunge at you, an arm outstretched when shangqi suddenly pushes him against a wall before he can even touch you.
“touch her, and i’ll murder you.” shangqi growls, a promise laced in the cold tone you’d never even thought he had. his grip is tight around your boss’ neck, ironed shirt wrinkling with each passing second of shangqi’s tightening grip. you stand behind your boyfriend in shock, only used to the sweet man who would prefer trapping spiders to take them outside. you pull at his shirt, softly saying his name as a way of asking him to calm down.
with a final jostle, shangqi complies, putting your boss down and only glaring at him as he slinks away, proclaiming he’ll sue. he turns to you once your boss is gone, gentle hands reaching for the wrist that had just been in your boss’ grip. his fingers trace gently over the bruise, worried eyes replacing the angry ones he’d had just before. “are you okay?” shangqi asks, scanning your face and pulling you into his embrace. you nod, tightening your arms around him. “i swear, i’ll kill him. who does he think he is? if they don’t fire him, i swear i’ll bring it up to wong or banner or i’ll take care of it myself--”
“i’ve never seen you that mad,” you interrupt in a daze, slowly pulling away and searching the eyes that had been so furious seconds before, now soft and comforting as they observed you.
“i’ve never needed to be,” shangqi tells you, the hands that had been wrapped around your boss’ neck now curling around your waist to pull you closer again, “but when i saw him hurting you--”
“i’m okay,” you assure weakly. “i’m sorry i didn’t tell you about it,” you murmur into his chest, “i just didn’t want you to worry. i was trying to avoid all this.”
“worrying about you is my job, i’m supposed to make sure you’re okay, y/n.”
“okay,” you give in. “i’m sorry. i promise i’ll tell you if anything happens again--”
“oh, no, this isn’t going to happen again.” shangqi promises, pulling back to meet your eyes, “i’ll make sure of it. i’ll stay with you every day if i need to.”
“you won’t need to, i promise,” you vow, “but thank you for protecting me.”
shangqi swears it’s his honor.

Strawberry Chapstick
Pairing: Xu Shang-Chi x fem!Reader
Rating: NSFW (Minors DNI)
Word Count: 700+
Warnings: Smut!; Curse words; Vagninal sex; safe sex
Request: yes
Prompt: Smut and Fluff
AN: Last request! I decided I'd do the Shang-Chi smut since I'll be getting more comfortable with it. Hope you enjoy it!
“Fuck.” You gasped. Your head was thrown back and your hands were digging into the mattress sheets.
Shang-Chi knew how to work his way around a woman. And god(s) were you grateful to be that woman. His hands rested by your head, holding him up above you while his dick was buried inside of you. He kept a steady pace as he sucked on your neck. Leaving a trail of forming purple spots.
“Right there.” A throaty moan escaped your throat. Your hips started to move, matching his pace.
His hand slid over yours, intertwining your fingers while simultaneously pushing you deeper into the mattress.
“So good.” He sucked in a breath while licking a stripe up your throat until his lips found yours. The kiss was delicate. Like a flower landing in a lake, creating small ripples in the water.
“Oh my god(s). Shang-Chi-” Your words were caught in your throat. A familiar knot in your core was tightening up, ready to break. Your face twisted and your mouth dropped. This was enough to let the man know you were close to your climax.
“I’m gonna-” He moaned deeply. You hummed in agreement. The pace picked up, desperate to catch the euphoric feeling.
You cried out with bliss once the orgasm hit. Your body shivered in the feeling while sweat dripped down your forehead. Shang-Chi reached his edge just moments after, emptying himself into the condom. He stayed inside of you for a few more moments, his head rested on yours and he kissed your nose.
When he pulled out, you let out a while. Your pussy was sensitive, and the movement sent a jolt up your body. He threw out the condom and reached for the water on the bedside table.
“Here.” He said while holding the water out for you. You moved yourself to lean on your elbow, grabbing the water and mumbling a ‘thank you.’ The cool water flowed down your throat, releasing some of the burning feeling that was built up through all your moaning and crying out his name.
“I’ll start a bath.” He told you, taking the water and putting it back on the cupholder.
You just hummed in response and flopped back on the bed. Your body was still coming down from its climax. Your muscles needed to relax. You heard the water start and a smile tugged at your lips. Shang-Chi never failed to show you how much he cared. He had stamina, he could bounce back after sex quickly just like how he could bounce back after a fight. There were tons of pros to dating a superhero.
You were slipping off into a nap when you felt soft lips on yours. These vaguely tasted like strawberries.
“Did you put on chapstick while you were in the bathroom?” You giggled, opening your eyes to see Shang-Chi’s smooth and perfect face in front of you.
“Don’t judge me. No one wants to kiss chapped lips.” He claimed, pecking your lips again.
“If they were your lips, I would.” You rebutted.
Your boyfriend blushed a deep red, making your smirk smugly and your stomach flutter. You were the only one who could make him melt, and you both knew it.
“How about a bath?” He urged you to the bathroom, lightly tugging your wrist.
“But I’m comfortable.” You groaned. The bed was so soft and you felt so tired, a bath could wait.
“You're also sweaty. I know you, you’ll complain about how gross you feel when you wake up.” He knew you so well.
You begrudgingly followed him to the bathroom, where a full tub was waiting for you. You looked into the mirror and did a double-take. The hickies on your neck were a dark purple and blue, marking all over your neck.
“Oh no.” You gasped and leaned over the sink to better examine them. “Shang-Chi, what did you do?” You whined, lightning touching around them.
“You didn’t seem to mind while I was making them.” He chuckled, his still naked body wrapped around you and he kissed your shoulder.
“I have work tomorrow.” You told him.
"Wear a turtleneck.” He suggested with a shrug.
“It’s the middle of summer.” Your voice dropped, the reality that you were going to be given a hard time tomorrow was setting in.
“Call in sick. Then we can do this all over again.” His hands were combing through your hair.
“I’m going to kill you.” You stated with a straight face.
“Hmm. After the bath.” He pulled you gently to the water. An eyebrow was raised and a smile on his face. You loved him, really, but sometimes he did make your life a bit harder.

World count: 1.1K
A/N: After some thot, I think Dark!Shangqi fits this better than regular Shangqi. He’s kinkier in my opinion ahahha! Let me know how you feel! Reblog and comments are greatly appreciate it. 💛
By clicking readmore, you are consenting to see such subjects, and reading it at your own risk.
** I do not consent for my works to be translated, copy or repost.
Your breath hitches in your throat as you feel his hand strokes along the column of your neck. Goosebumps prick across the surface of your skin as a chill runs down your spine. A soft, shaky breath escapes from your nose. Your head throws back against his hard chest.
Shangqi is knuckled deep inside your drenching pussy, slowly pumping in and out of in a slow, deliberate motion. God, you really wish he’d move faster. You want to clench your thighs together, but he has you tied up. Your ankles are restrained and tied on either side of the bedposts. You have no choice but to open wide, and present yourself to him.
“Baby, you’re being a very good girl right now,” he murmurs against the shell of your ear while his fingers work in and out of you, spreading you open as he watches you watching him fucking you right in front of the mirror.
You cannot help but let out a muffled moan as you try your hardest to keep your eyes open. Every time you clench your eyes shut, Shangqi would stop whatever he’s doing, and denies you the pleasure of reaching your release. This has been going on for about half an hour now. Your slick is practically wetting his trouser. His arousal presses against your back. You just want him to stop teasing you and just fuck you right here right now.
“If you keep doing what you’re doing now, I’ll let you cum, deal?” His deep, throaty voice reverberates against your skin, sending more chill down your spine. He watches you tentatively as he curls his fingers against that one spongey spot that makes you see stars. A high pitch moan escapes from your lips as you feel that warm familiar sensation slowly creeping up on you at the pit of your stomach as his pace quickens. The wet, squelching sound fills the room as you’re getting closer and closer to it. Your back practically arches off of him as you can feel your orgasm nears. “That’s it, my sweet girl. Keep watching me fucking you. Don’t close your eyes now.”
He continues to pump into you maybe once or twice or thrice more before a lewd, throaty moan escapes from your lips. Your release hits you like a wave, making your body convulses, your muscles spasms as you feel the warmness spreading throughout your body.
Shangqi watches you in the mirror, eyes glimmer with lust and satisfaction as you come unravel right in front of him. His cock is aching, practically burst with the need of wanting to bury himself right into your warm, wet heat. “I can't wait to sink myself so deep inside you, baby,” he murmurs against the shell of your ears as you slowly come down from your high, still panting and bathing in the afterglow of your orgasm. “Every time I see you,” he mutters as he quickly rips at your restrain, freeing your legs from their confinement. “I can’t help by seeing myself inside of you.”
With a grunt, he orders you to be on your hands and knees. You watch him with bleary eyes as he slowly lowers his trousers, eyes latching onto you the whole time. Your gaze lowers to the dark, tan bulbous head of his cock. You can see glossy beads of his pre-cum leaking out of the slit as he slowly wraps his callus hand around the long, thick shaft. Your mouth starts salivating as you watch him slowly pump his cock, imagining what it feels like to be impaled by that long hardness.
“You want this, don’t you baby?”
You nod as you lean back, letting your ass rub against his hardness. Shangqi lets out a throaty moan as he tips his head back, enjoying the contact. “You want me to fuck you with this cock, huh?”
You nod as you continue to grind your ass right at his crotch. Shangqi grins darkly before he suddenly grabs you with a force that makes your hands give away. You yelp out when your face hits the mattress. More muffled moans escape from you as he pushes himself right into your scorching wetness. Shangqi moans in satisfaction as he begins to move.
“Fuck, baby. Look at you so wet and so needy for me. You little pussy practically swallow my dick in,” he moans before he snaps his hips forward, knocking the air out of you. “Gonna stretch your little pussy nice and wide for me, baby,” he says before he grabs you by the hips and repeatedly thrust himself in and out of you. You let out loud, obscene noise at the feel of his cock hitting a spot that makes you speechless. Your mouth hangs open as you watch him through the mirror, mounting you and fucking you like an animal. The more his thrust becomes harder, the closer you are to cum again, and Shangqi can feel this too, by the way, your cunt slowly squeezing him.
“Are you cumming again, baby?”
You nod eagerly, unable to get your words out as he’s practically fucking the air right out of you.
“You’re gonna be a good girl and cum over my cock?”
You nod.
As if he cannot go any faster, his movements change. You can feel how erratic he has become as he’s plunging into you hard. Your moan mixes with the noise of skin slapping against skin, and before you know it you let out a high pitch scream as you cum, all the while that Shangqi still chasing his own. His erratic movements continue perhaps once or thrice before he lets out a grunt as he pulls himself out of you. “Open your mouth baby girl,” he pants as he pumps his cock quickly.
Without a thought, you open your mouth for him. The warm white fluid hits your cheek here, and your tongue there. Some lands on your chin and drips down your neck. The sound of Shangqi huffing and moaning is more than enough to make this all worthwhile. There’s nothing hotter than hearing your man moan out.
“Fuck me,” he groans as he lays beside you as he watches you spitting out his cum and letting the sticky, white liquid roll down to your chest. “I swear to God, you look so fucking hot right now.” Shangqi bites his lips as he stares up at you.
“Hmm, let me shower first and perhaps feed me, then we can talk,” you smile cheekily at him before you make your way to the bathroom. “Are you going to join me, or not?”
“Is that even a question?” he chuckles before he gets up and quickly carries you bridal style into the bathroom.

best mistake - Xu Shangqi x fem!reader
Summary: Katy tries to matchmake Y/N and Shaun. If only these two weren’t so stubborn.
Word count: 3.0k
Rating: T
Warnings: fluff, language
Relationship: Xu Shangqi x female!reader
Additional tags: Pre!Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings.
Author’s note: Ever since watching Shangqi, I couldn’t help falling for this sweet boy - this is so unlike me! Let’s send this cinnamon roll some love. This was written in two days - I have been feeling the inspiration ... hard.
Masterlist | Bring me a cuppa
The echoing guitar music resounded in her ears while Y/N’s eyes followed Shaun standing close to the bar. It was truly fascinating how she was always capable of finding Shaun’s figure in the crowd − just by watching those broad shoulders of his. All little smile was on his lips as he was leaning forward, with his back hunched over.
Something warm tingled on the side of her face before Y/N mentioned almost with boredom, “You know I can feel you staring, right?”
And just as she expected, Y/N slowly turned her head to find Katy staring back at her. With playfulness shining in those chocolate-brown eyes, not even embarrassed about being discovered.
Katy started babbling, “Can’t a girl just stare at another beautiful woman? I mean, in what kind of society are we truly living if female solidarity is not even appreciated - I mean, your hair, it’s like so glos-” Out of nowhere, the back of Katy’s hand caressed Y/N’s hair.
Stunned by Katy’s fervent stream of words, Y/N raised her eyebrows. “Uh, are you drunk already? You barely had two tequila shots and you’re already in your flirty phase? Maybe you need to slow down, sweetie.”
Y/N carefully slid her shot glass away before she patted the back of her hand on the table in almost pitying comfort. Like one would pat a child’s head before uttering, “oh, you poor thing.”
“What did I miss?” Shaun’s curious voice echoed from their left, with a bowl of chips in his hand and placed it into the middle of the table between them.
Not wasting any time, Y/N slid the snack closer to Katy. “Either Katy exploring her bi phase or she’s unable to hold her liquor.”
With slow movements, Shaun took a seat between them while confusion was setting on his face with a deep frown. “Okay … sure.” The syllables were pulled apart in a drawn-out word as his eyes narrowed. Not knowing what to make of a Katy who was a flyweight so early in the night.
Katy shifted her eyes between them. “I’m totally fine. Just a generous person admiring her best friend, and you too, Shaun.”
A smirk tugged on Shaun’s lips, moments before he lifted a beer to his mouth. “Love you too, Katy,” he mumbled mockingly.
“Anyway, I’m just grateful having you two around. Two good-looking people … who could make some beautiful babies. Just strong, beautiful boys and girls. How cool would that be? How do you think your sex would be like?” Katy cocked her head, like she had been harboring that thought for a long time.
Nope, that didn’t sound weird at all.
It seemed that Shaun and Y/N were sharing the same expression – with their lips pursed and crooked heads.
There was something about Shaun glaring and mouthing something next to her at Katy that confused the hell out of her.
“Okay, maybe you do need some water to clear your thoughts, you know. Right, Shaun?” Y/N turned her head to discover him whipping his head in her direction with a close-lipped smile.
“Yeah, totally sounds crazy.”
Something was off about Shaun, same as Katy, but that was kind of a given with the raven-haired woman who was made of weirdness. One of the things she loved about Katy.
Unfortunately, Y/N couldn’t delve into that particular can of worms when a notification lit up the screen of her phone. “Think I can leave you both alone to be responsible grown-up people while I take a quick call?”
Shaun casually waved before saying, “Sure.”
“Really?” Y/N narrowed her eyes in uncertainty.
An affronted Shaun made an appearance. “What? I am responsible and a grown-up.”
Katy finally spoke up. “Okay, that’s just rude, Y/N. Where’s the trust?”
“Shaun, I do believe that you’re responsible, but Katy’s a bad influence.”
Without missing a beat, Katy pointed towards Y/N. “You’re right. She’s right.” She was facing Shaun again who rolled his eyes in response.
“I’m hurt. Physically hurt. And scout’s honor.”
Y/N hummed under her breath once she saw him lift two fingers in the air and felt pleased enough. Two voices exchanged words behind her once she was moving away.
Katy’s muttering voice reached her ears. “You were a boy scout?”
“Hey, I could have been.”
~ Shangqi POV ~
“What the hell are you doing?” Shaun hissed fervently as he leaned forward on his arms. This was turning into one of his nightmares already, with Katy messing with his life like that.
Her wide innocent eyes couldn’t fool him. “What? I’m not doing anything. Can’t a girl just want to see her two best friends be happy?”
Exhaling heavily through his mouth, Shaun shook his head. “I can’t believe this. You’re trying to hook us up after what I told you?” His eyes nervously shifted in its sockets. “Y/N’s not even into me. She’s one of my best friends. I care about her as a friend, … just as I care about you.”
A derisive scoff left Katy. “First, that’s a lie. Second, I saw the way she was looking at you while you were getting our food. Trust me on this, a girl can tell when another is having a crush−”
Wait a second.
“Wait, what?” Shaun whipped his head around in shock at the unexpected reveal.
“And third,” she continued like he hadn’t said anything, “don’t pretend with me. You definitely have different feelings for her than you have for me. Unless there’s a part of you who likes seeing my in hot lingerie.” Katy lifted a know-it-all eyebrow.
Shaun’s voice turned serious. “She can’t know. I was drunk when I told you all of this stuff and that memory was awkward enough.”
Katy pursed her lips. “You mean when you told me how she was effervescent and captivating? That you woke up some days wishing you could share everything with her?”
Shaun felt utterly speechless from her verbatim rendition of their conversation.
“Trust me, it was as awkward for you as it was for me hearing you gush like a lovesick dork.” Katy revealed her cell before declaring triumphantly, “And I got the video. It was too funny to pass up, Shaun.”
Shaun didn’t see the funny nature of it and commanded intensely, “Delete that.”
Katy snorted loudly. “I’m not doing that. It’s going to be my engagement gift for you two.”
Leaning back with a drawn-out sigh, Shaun groaned, “You’re going to be the death of me, Chen. Stay out of this, you hear me? No more funny business, I mean it.”
“Fine, scout’s honor,” Katy offered and lifted three fingers to her forehead.
A neutral expression settled on Shaun’s features before he replied with a bored voice, “That’s the Panem salute.”
If someone had told her that a frigging blackout would douse San Francisco in utter darkness, Y/N would have laughed in their face. It was still a pretty frightening event when a sound pierced through the air a split second before everything turned pitch-black.
Y/N placed her hand against her chest as her head shifted around in anxiety. Her breathing turned normal again once the bathroom doorknob wiggled and Shaun rushed out of it. His dark hair was still wet from the shower he just took. Thankfully, he was wearing black shirt and grey sweatpants and hadn’t been still in the shower when the lights went out.
“Are you alright, Y/N?”
“Yes, I think so.” Her eyes were trying to discern the outside world when she asked, “Do you think there’s a blackout all around the block?” The light of the moon was the only source offering comfort while the blackout was wreaking havoc around them.
Shaun stepped towards the windows and brushed the blinds away. “Seems that way. It could be even farther than that.”
“Great, where are your candles, Shaun?”
Shaun hesitated in the darkness. “I’m a guy,” he merely uttered, like that was explanation enough.
Rolling her eyes, Y/N muttered, “Now would be a perfect time to have some though.”
“I’ll keep that in mind for the next blackout in San Francisco,” Shaun teased her.
“You betcha.” Feeling saucy, Y/N turned on the flashlight of her phone, effectively blinding him.
Shaun groaned before a grimacing smirk adorned his face.
“You never know these days. We live in a world with aliens and basically the end of the world happening through the dusting.”
Shaun was able to see right through her by guessing her emotional state. “It’s daunting, right?”
“More like out of this world.”
Shaun snorted loudly. “Funny.”
Y/N mused out loud, “Not to mention, it could be pretty useful for your next girlfriend to set some romantic mood. You know, light some candles…”
His interest was stirred now. “You know, you sound very committed to my love life.”
“Nah, just pondering.” Suddenly Y/N lifted her head in morbid curiosity. “Why don’t you have one again?”
Shaun seemed to have a little devil on his broad shoulder when he directed his own glaring flashlight into her eyes. “Is a certain someone interested in being my girlfriend?” he inquired with a baritone voice.
“Okay, I realize I started that little bit, but I don’t think it’s funny anymore.” Y/N shrugged her shoulders, referring to the flashlight issue. “It just makes me wonder, that’s all. Why I don’t ever see you with someone serious unless we’re counting the ones who barely survive a few weeks.”
Another thought crossed her mind. Y/N narrowed her eyes with that peculiar notion. “Unless a certain someone isn’t emotionally available.”
Shaun lifted his well-toned arms in defense. It was moments like these it was hard not to get distracted. “Hey, I’m not a player. You should know that about me by now.”
“You just seem like such a nice guy. It would be such a shame to see you pass up on like, the love of your life because you’re afraid.”
“’Love of my life, huh?’” Shaun mouthed wordlessly before he spoke normally, “And I’m not afraid.”
“Me thinks the lad doth protest too much.”
“And what about you? It’s like looking into a mirror. Nothing serious, never settling down. Sounds like someone’s scared too.”
“Okay, I don’t like playing this game anymore,” Y/N grumbled under her breath before turning around as she tried to shift her focus on something else.
“Come on, like seriously, who wants to be with a guy who parks cars for a living, barely even has time for a girlfriend and lives in a shoebox for an apartment?”
Y/N sent him an incredulous glance over her shoulder. “Stop selling yourself short. Sounds like you’re trying to convince yourself more than me.”
“I’m not−”
“Wait, did you hear that?” Y/N strained her ears as she was listening intently.
Shaun needed a second before he decisively said, “That’s ‘Hotel California’.”
“What?”
Stepping next to her, Shaun explained, “It’s Katy’s ringtone. She must have dropped her phone the last time we were gaming together.”
“Gee, I wonder why you don’t have time for a girlfriend, Shaun.”
“Don’t be jealous.” Y/N felt him wrap his arm around her shoulder. “You know you’re the only girl for me.”
Despite the warm feelings taking root in her stomach from his heartfelt but teasing words, Y/N rolled her eyes, just as Katy’s phone went quiet again.
“Shoot. Gotta take care of the stuff in my fridge.” With a dashing motion, Shaun rushed into the kitchen. “You want to raid my ice cream?”
Y/N was slightly distracted, with the phone in the palm of her hand, when she answered, “Oh, I’m not gonna say ‘no’ to that kind of offer.” Not to mention, after all those times they had raided each other’s foods constantly.
Once she had it unlocked already, a quiet whisper left her, “Oh Katy, you security-averse weirdo.”
“Did you say something?” Shaun’s voice called out from around the corner.
“Oh, just Katy leaving her damn phone unlocked.”
“That’s Katy for you.”
Y/N’s heart was bleeding once the notification ‘phone storage almost full’ filled the top of the screen.
Y/N sighed mournfully and absentmindedly took a seat on his couch. “Oh Katy, you’re hurting my soul.”
As soon as the biggest file with Shaun’s thumbnail filled the screen, Y/N had to chuckle inadvertently. It was probably another one of their pieces of evidence of their wayward antics. Feeling curious and slightly bad about snooping, Y/N still pressed play, since she didn't know whether she was supposed to delete it or keep one of their weird drunken karaoke escapades.
A drunk Shaun with hazy eyes which weren’t focusing on anything caught her attention. “She’s like so … gorgeous.”
The sound of a spoon falling on the counter barely reached her senses before it was silence that followed.
Y/N’s upbeat voice called out without lifting her head, “Hey, Shaun, what is this weird karaoke video?”
Out of the corner of her eye, she could sense Shaun standing in a frozen state behind the counter. “What are you watching?”
“Oh, you know … Katy.” Like that explanation was sufficient enough.
Katy’s low chuckle was uttered from behind the camera. “I think you’re hammered, dude.”
Shaun was in fervent refusal. “No, I’ve never seen things more clearly. I love everything about her. She’s so efferevescient – efficient? eff− captivating, I mean,” he breathed.
Y/N couldn’t help thinking how Shaun was being all cute when he was babbling nonsense and unable to pronounce words effectively.
“Y/N just moves like … she’s air.”
She swallowed and held her breath, as she was unable to avert her eyes from the words Shaun was saying. Utterly in her own world, she stood up with shaky legs as her back was facing the kitchen.
Completely forgetting that present-Shaun was standing right there, probably listening to everything.
“I don’t care how she gets cranky in the morning without her coffee and would bite my head off if I would even dare speak to her. What’s the archer’s name again from the Avengers?”
“You mean Hawkguy?”
Past-Shaun was blinking slowly. “You sure? That doesn’t sound right.”
“Hell, if I know. I’m not into archery. I mean, I could, don’t get me wrong. It’d be fun and I’d be pretty much perfect. I’d probably drop it two days later though. Because it’s just too much work, you know?”
Shaun kept talking, like he was only half-listening. “Anyway, she got me, Katy.” He thumped with his fist against his pectorals, missing his heart way off. “Right here. I’m so far gone. She can do whatever she wants with me.”
“Kinky,” Katy muttered.
“Y/N’s like the love of my life. I just wish things were different. Sometimes I wake up and wish I could share my whole life with her.” Shaun glanced up at her with those puppy eyes when only silence reached his ears. “What?”
Y/N felt speechless as her heart was beating erratically in her chest. Despite his confession, her lips quirked.
“Nothing. Just a lot to unpack here,” past-Katy offered with hesitation.
“Wait, are you taking pictures of me?”
“Hell nah.”
Blackness filled the screen, reminding her with a shock that the video was over. Katy’s phone was limp in her hand while she turned around and stared in shock at Shaun.
“Listen, that’s not what you think.”
Y/N raised her eyebrows at his adamant denial. “You’re in love with me?”
Shaun scoffed once and then a second time. “No? That’s not – you’re in love with me.”
What a man-child, Shaun was sometimes, Y/N thought to herself. She rolled her eyes. "That’s barely even a secret.”
Shaun’s head whirled around. “Wait, you are? Why didn’t you ever say anything?”
Disbelief was shining in her eyes. “Just like you never did?”
Chuckling low under his breath, Shaun placed his hands on his waist before he shook his head. “God, it sounds crazy now that I think about it. I just … didn’t want to ruin our friendship.” With slow steps he inched towards her. “What are you thinking right now?”
Y/N was smiling fondly. “That you’re the most adorkable dork when drunk you is declaring your undying love for me.”
Now barely inches away from her until his breath was brushing against her face. “I’m not adorkable.”
Y/N nodded. “Yeah, you are. Like a pocket full of sunshine in that muscled body of yours.”
Shaun seemed to regain some of his smugness when he smirked. “So, you only like me for my body, huh?”
Y/N shrugged and like she was confiding a secret in him, whispered, “I could climb you like a tree.”
Shaun’s widened eyes were setting her body on fire while even his pupils dilated. “Oh wow, really? Maybe I should have come to my senses sooner then.”
He was getting transfixed on her eyes. “Listen, this is going to sound totally insane and I’m probably going to wreck our friendship for all eternity, but−” He exhaled lowly and continued, “I don’t care. I mean, to a certain extent. But … I’m going to kiss you right now and you’d better punch me in the face before I even get close. And every inch of my body is telling me how I’m going to regret this for the rest of my life if I don’t feel your lips on mine."
Woah, swoon-worthy Shaun was simply unreal.
Y/N was waiting with bated breath, while Shaun’s face inched closer until his exhaling air was caressing her lips.
Despite Shaun’s words, he was giving her time to pull back by getting closer with excruciating slowness. His longing eyes alternated between her eyes in silent question and her lips. Finally, his lips brushed against hers as he exhaled lowly.
The breath against her mouth made Y/N open her mouth, feeling curious of the feel of him.
Trying to explore more of Y/N, Shaun tilted his head and let his tongue dance with hers.
A whimpering sound echoed from her lips at the sensation which soon shifted into a sigh once the taste of luscious boba on his tongue mingled with hers. Her fingers wound around his neck, wanting to keep him there.
As if there was even a part of Shaun that ever wanted to let go of her.
She was breathing him in before Y/N felt Shaun ultimately … stop. With her eyes still closed, she heard Shaun speak.
A smile was heard Shaun in his words. “Best mistake I ever made.”
“Couldn’t agree more.”

we don’t have to pretend
Pairing: Shang-Chi x fem!reader
Summary: Being best friends since high school, the reunion prom finally serves as an excuse to confess your long lasting feelings for each other.
Word Count: 2.2K
Warnings: Fluff, it was supposed to be angsty but has nothing angsty about it. Cheesy promposal and cheesy song choice.
Author’s note: It took me some time but my first Shang-Chi one-shot is finally here! I took some inspiration from the beautiful @wint3r-h3art 's song recommendation, Around by NIKI, but also had a little of everything, from Deadpool references to inspo by the video clip of In the Dark by Swae Lee ft. Jhené Aiko. At this point I'm mastering self indulgent fics, I just can't help it. <3
Comments, Reblogs and Likes are really appreciated! <3 As always, thank you so much for reading!
Shang-Chi was lying down on his bed with his back stretched out and feet still touching the ground. His eyes were looking for answers on the plain white ceiling where he knew he wouldn’t find. The whole incident with the Ten Rings, his dad’s death, and family history were way too much, still. After meeting with Dr. Banner and Captain Danvers, his life had been much more crowded and rushed, always counting on Wong to transport him back and forth to New York.
His heart almost gave out when he heard the bell ringing — he wasn’t expecting anyone. It was a Saturday, the only day he reserved for himself, or to be available in case you were too. He still hadn’t time to tell you about his double life, and he certainly didn’t want to drag you into this mess. He did feel guilty, though, with sneaking around and pretending he wasn’t there when you called him.
Especially since he was in love with you. How could he expect to have you around when he couldn’t even bring himself to tell you who he was?
He heard your voice outside by the door and his reaction was immediate. He left the bed with a jump, quickly pacing to open it for you. He fidgeted on his hair for a bit before letting the sunlight enter the apartment. He was as happy as a puppy on his first time walking out of the house.
“When I said you could always come by, I didn’t mean that you could simply show up like this.” He said playfully, leaning into the crack of the door.
“Oh, I’m sorry, do you have company?” Your sarcastic tone made him chuckle, he loved how you would always find a way to tease him, ever since you were teenagers.
“I mean, I could have. I’m very important and busy.” He gestured that you were welcome to come inside, but almost regretting it a second later. “Sorry for the mess, didn’t have time to tidy up.”
“Yeah, dude. You haven’t run errands with me for four weeks or so.” You took off your shoes to place them by the entrance. “I miss my laundry buddy.”
“I miss you too.” He said, gazing past you. If only you knew just how much he did miss you, not only to run errands but to everything. He missed talking to you, being around you. But he promised himself he wouldn’t let you enter into the danger he was already putting Katy into. Not until he was ready to.
“So, are you coming tonight?” You said as you sat down on his undone bed, running your fingers through the creased sheet. “To prom?”
He looked at you, forehead crinkling up in doubt. “What -, are we back in high school?” He closed the door behind him, still not losing sight of you.
“You didn’t get the invite? We have that reunion prom, remember?” Your cellphone was already in hand and you scrolled through your cleaned-up, perfectly organized email inbox. “See? Tonight at seven p.m.” You showed him the screen as he moved to your side, sitting down on the bed.
As he did, the mattress weight made you jump. Did Shaun get stronger? Better yet, did your best friend ditch you those past weeks to work out? To be honest, it could be. It was the closest you had been to him since he disappeared for god knows how long. You even had your doubts whether you were his best friend anymore.
Not meaning to stare, you drifted your gaze away as he scanned through the email.
“I didn’t receive it… let me search.” He picked up his phone and scrolled around the hundreds and thousands of emails he must not have been checking. Right down the bottom of the inbox, he saw it. “Shit, I must have ignored it.”
He looked straight at you with apologetic eyes. But, you weren’t looking at him.
“What is that?” The perfectly preserved box in which his dad stored the Ten Rings was wide open by his nightstand.
Well, that was promising.
“Erm.. my workout gear?” He said with the most unconvinced voice you had ever heard. Shaun quickly left your side and closed the box, putting it away in his messy closet and closing the door.
“Why do you need ten of whatever that was to your training?” You pointed your fingers at it, even if you couldn't see it anymore.
“You count so fast, huh? And why are you playing detective on me?” He forced a laugh, which was embarrassing. How would he get out of that one?
But you were smarter than that. Whatever he would try to do to stall you, you would read past it.
You sighed. “Shaun, what is going on?” Standing your ground, you patted the bed as you would always do when you needed a moment to talk to him. “Can we talk? Like we used to.”
He knew he was in trouble. He had never been able to keep things away from you when you would talk like that, face to face. Admitting defeat, he sat beside you, his legs crossing over one another.
Shaun, or, Shang-Chi, as you learned now, couldn't seem to stop talking. It was weeks worth of happenings, after all. It did take him a moment to choose the right way to begin, but once he did, it was an open gate.
The words kept falling out of his mouth, and soon enough, everything was on the table. He told you about his sister, his parents, Ta-Lo, and the Great Protector — all of it. Including his new occupation as a side hero and protector of the earth. When he finished, you seemed astonished. You were confused, maybe? A mixture of anguish and uncertainty.
Your silence was keeping him on edge. What if you didn't believe in him? What if, in your head, you had already decided that it was too much for you to handle? You knew him forever. Would this be the end of the line?
All he could do was hope for the best.
After a while, with your head downwards, facing the loneliness of the white sheets beneath you, you finally looked up to him. "I'm so sorry, Shang-Chi." You reached him for a hug, which he embraced with the biggest relief on his chest. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you."
"What? No, it wasn't your fault." He said with a stuffy voice, his mouth slightly covered by your hair. "You couldn't have known."
You stayed like this for a couple of minutes. Entangled in each other's arms, his sorrow being cured by the sheer presence of your touch. Your longing desire to be near him, gently healing all opened wounds he had in his heart.
It seemed like you cared more for him than this whole mess surrounding his past. He didn't know whether you did not realize the dangers that would come with it, but he chose to believe that you did and were only trying to make things lighter on his shoulders. That is the type of person you have always been.
"I wish I had told you sooner, but I was afraid you would drift away. I don't want you to get hurt." He slowly distanced himself from the hug, still holding on to your arms. "You are my best friend, and my only wish is that you stick around with me."
A shy chuckle escaped your mouth. "You wanted to keep me around by lying to me?" Your hands were just like his, grasping onto his arms.
"I never said it was the smartest idea." He said, playfully. "You are the brains, I'm the idiot that follows you. And Katy is the goofball.”
"You're not an idiot. Well, maybe sometimes, but still." You softly placed your hand on his cheek, stroking lightly. "You're my idiot."
Shang-Chi tilted his head, a smile creeping upon his face. He squinted his eyes, teasing you. "Wow, what was that? Did you just confess you love me?"
You threw your hands up as if quitting his little game, laughing. "I'm leaving! Not going into this again."
"Slow down, pretty girl." He imitated you, a chuckle almost keeping him from talking. "Now that everything has been said and done, can I take you to prom?"
"Oh, now you wanna take me to prom? You wouldn't even know about it if it wasn't for me, and I would go by myself, like last time." You pretended to be mad, pouting and crossing your arms over your chest.
"In my defense, I was going to ask you back then, but you wanted to go with that Nick boy." He rolled his eyes, exaggerating his voice. "Pretty-boy-can-do-everything-Nick."
"That's on you if you think he was perfect. But I wanted to go with you, loser." You hugged a pillow nearby, knowing damn well that you had just slipped the biggest secret you've kept from him. "I just pretended to not want to."
It was like adding two plus two. Simple and easy, yet, how could he have missed it? He was always jealous of the boys around you and it took him some time to realize why, but it never occurred to him that the same was happening to you. You've known each other for half of your life now. All the teasing and nagging, you both cared so much and did so little to show it.
"I guess we should stop pretending." He seemed so serious out of a sudden. Your eyes were locked into him, and you threatened to open your mouth, but he was faster. “I know you know what I mean.”
There was no time for laughing and joking around anymore, or so it seemed. Shang-Chi’s gaze lingered on your face as you assimilated what he had said.
“I don’t, I -” You started mumbling, but before you could continue, he took your hand into his. His eyes spoke more than you could ever say in words, and you just stared back at him. “I agree.”
He sighed as relief washed over his body. He felt as if for the first time, he was seeing you as you are, and you seeing him as he was. Just honest and heartfelt tenderness.
“Now that you admitted you love me, let me do this right.” He stood up from the bed, only your joyful laughter filling the air.
He took a piece of paper and pen lying on his nightstand and wrote something, his back was concealing it from you. He reached for his phone in his pocket, his fast fingers scrolling with only one hand.
The familiar saxophone intro started playing on the lowest volume, the clicking noises of the buttons making it sound louder and clearer as he turned around to face you.
“WHAM!” Shang-Chi whispered, nodding his head in rhythm with the song. As he did it, the paper with a poorly written P-R-O-M? made you burst out laughing.
“Seriously? Careless Whisper for a Promposal?” You stood up as well, your feet curdling up to reach him, your face inches close. “How cheesy.”
“What did Deadpool say? You don’t have to be the hero to get the girl, the right girl will bring the hero out of you?” He smiled, tossing the paper and the phone on the bed, placing arms around your waist, hands closing together to keep you inside his embrace. “You will please, go to prom with me?”
“When you’ve put it so nicely, yes, of course, I’ll to go prom with you.”
Your lips finally touched for the first time. The desire and eagerness from both of you were so intense, it was a little sloppy, but you didn’t mind it at all. You were kissing him, the love of your life. Small pecks here and there, his hands gently made their way through your back until resting on your neck, keeping your face in place.
As you both stood there, bodies refusing to stop the embrace, the song kept playing in the background. It was almost like you were dancing to your private prom, every single thing was perfect because you were together.
His forehead touching yours, your feet in perfect synchrony, swaying away to the romantic ballad, he said: “Is it a bad moment to say that I don’t own a tux?”
You laughed with your eyes shut, picturing him in pajamas right below the sparkling globe in the middle of the dancefloor. “You know what, you could be with the dirtiest shirt you own, it wouldn’t matter to me.”
“God, I love you.”
He meant it. You could see it in his eyes.
As you danced around his messy apartment, the sweetest smile on your face, he could only recall loving you this much from the day he met you.
Shang-Chi would be lying if he said that he didn’t fear for you, your safety, your protection. But at that moment, he had nothing else to lose, you loved him and he loved you.
And that was enough.

May I have Shang-Chi from marvel with #3?
A/N - WOOHOO! I love this for Shang Chi, thanks for requesting this, anon!
6 Years
Summary - Katy wants to hear the story, again.
Warnings - Just some fluff
“Come on, you gotta tell me again!”
“I told you this story already, Katy,”
“I know, but she[’s better at telling the story than you,”
“Gee, thanks,” You said laughing as you leaned back in your chair, Shang Chi’s arm behind yours on the backrest as Katy was sitting across from you two in the deserted karaoke bar. Shang took a good look at you, having you shrug as you looked over at Katy and shifted in your chair.
“It started about 3 weeks ago,” You explained to her, seeing Katy watch in wrapped attention as you kept going with the story, “Shang over here was convinced we need to get a deep dish pizza, at 12:30 in the morning,”
“In my defense,” Shang interrupted lightly in his chair, “I was craving it all day and I knew the only place in all of San Francisco that did deep dish after midnight: Papa Johnny’s, remember?”
“Duh,” Katy replied with a wave off to him, “Don’t interrupt and let her talk!”
“Anyways,” You said, Shang rolling his eyes as you chuckled, “I went along with him because I was also hungry, and there was nothing else to do after I finished that one paper I was working on. So we go, and this one had the genius idea to take the trolly. Word of advice Katy: never take the trolly after midnight. Some of the weirdest people there, including Shang,”
“Hey!” Shang said, poking your side as you giggled.
“That’s when you found out?” Katy asked, you both shaking your heads.
“Nope, not on the trolly. We made it to the pizza parlor and had the deepish he wanted: Cheese with extra cheese. I had to hand it to him, it was quite delicious and really good at 12:30 in the morning,”
“Totally called it,” Shang replied with a smug, thought you smacked him with your hand and he laughed, “I’m just saying, I knew it was going to be good!”
“After that, we were heading on our way home when the rain storm hit,” You went on with the story, grinning from the memory, “We tried to get a trolly but we missed the last one of the night. So we walked.”
“In the rain?” Katy asked, you and Shang nodding as Katy gave a mocking romantic look, “How romantic. That’s when you knew, right?”
“Not just yet,” Shang answered for her, “We both braved the rain and hid under cover at one of those pop-up pawn shops that were a block away from my place, the rain was coming down so hard we didn’t want to risk it. So we were stranded for a good twenty minutes, and that’s when I kissed her.”
You beamed as Katy was mockingly throwing up, though some patrons around you were staring from hearing the noise. Shang just glared at Katy as she laughed.
“It’s so cute it's gross, okay?” She asked with a shrug to him.
“And that…that is where we knew we loved each other,” You ended the story for her, looking from Katy over at Shang who was smiling just as big as you were. It made your inside all warm and soothing, replaying that moment under the awning of the pawn shop with pouring rain around you and Shang pulling you in for a kiss. It felt like heaven, even with the shivering cold from the rain and the small stale taste of the pizza on your tongue. You still felt sparks from Shang, literally sparks in your stomach and all around your fingers and toes.
“Man….your first soulmate date,” Katy said in a gasp, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms, “Was it all it was meant to be and more?”
“I kind of wished I had more planned out, but I think it was perfect anyways,” Shang explained, though you rolled your eyes.
“I thought it was perfect, I wouldn’t change it,” You countered with him, “As far as soulmate dates go, ours is up there.”
“It’s true, I’ve heard of worst ones,” Katy hummed at Shang, “Like my second cousin’s first soulmate date: the stuff of literal nightmares. Just be thankful that you two knew each other before you found out you were soulmates,”
You looked down at the small mark on your hand near your thumb, a distinct birthmark in the shape of a crescent on the space between your thumb and pointer finger. It was a mark you were born with, always wondering who had the same mark themselves and if you were ever going to meet him. Going through your childhood into your teen years, you still held onto that wonder and onto that notion of who it was. When you would meet them. What they would be like.
That all changed on Shang’s first day at your school.
Up until that point, you hide your mark on your hand, not wanting others to see and ask you twenty questions on if you ever met your soulmate or found them. It wasn’t that you lost your hope for finding your soulmate, you would rather focus on other things and not too much on hope. Shang first was your friend, meeting you through Katy and you two ended up good friends all the way through high school and beyond. He was wonderful with you as a friend, you felt butterflies every once in a while with him because of his humor and his kindness to others.
Finally, after one night hanging out together 1 month ago with Katy at your apartment, your sleeve slipped and your mark was showing. Shang saw it, his eyes going big and he looked like he went into shock. You were about to ask him what was going on when he looked at you dead in the eyes, reaching down to move down the sock on his right leg.
A crescent, just like yours.
“I can’t believe my two best friends are soulmates, and it only took them about 6 years to figure It out!” Katy said in a huff.
“Thank you for the reminder, Katy,” You thanked her, though she winked and gestured to the bar behind her.
“I’ll get us another round of drinks,” She explained as she got up and literally skipped over. You and Shang exchanged looked, Shang let you lean over to rest your head on his shoulder.
“Did you ever wish we got together sooner?” Shang asked you in curiosity.
“God no,” You replied, “We needed to be friends first before we realized we were soulmates. I think it worked out perfectly,”
“Me too,” Shang agreed, kissing the side of your head as you both watched Katy come back with three drinks in hand.
Yeah, 6 years of friendship and then being soulmates was perfect for you two.
The End.

Christmas Eve | Shangqi x reader
Summary: It's the morning of Christmas Eve and Shangchi thought it was a great idea to give your Christmas present early in bed.
A/N: For some reasons some of you celebrate christmas eve on the 25th but here it is, a christmas present to y'all before i take a break from tumblr!
Warnings: Smut (obvs), fingering, titties sucking, oral sex, creampie, cock warming, shangqi being hot, no minors please!
Shang-chi woke up with a small faint groan that left his lips as he fluttered his eyes open. He could see the bright light that blinded through the curtains and feel the warmth that your body radiated next to him.
His arm was over your waist, overprotective as his body hovered over you like a koala. His head was buried into your neck as he could smell the sweet scent from your body wash that you always use.
His eyes trailed over to the marks that he left from last night. He could remember it vividly since it was his decision to fuck you so that you couldn't walk in the next morning. Also, that he fucked you in your childhood bedroom since the two of you were visiting your parents over for the holiday.
He had to keep you quiet with his hand so that your moans wouldn't be disturbed. Your naked figure made his dick hard by just seeing you sleeping next to him.
He could hear your steady breathing as he trailed his fingers down on your waist before it was between your legs. He kept sending you to flutter kisses on your neck and to your shoulder before he traced his fingers through your wet folds.
He heard you suck a breath in and he let out a small groan when he could feel that you were wet for him already. You let out a small whine when he let in two fingers inside of your wet cunt. He began to thrust in and out faster as he kept sending you kisses on your neck. ''Shang-chi,'' You moaned like a small child. ''That's my good girl,'' He praised you as he began to suck on your neck.
He could feel your walls tighten as he continued to hit your g-spot. You let out a loud moan when he felt your body shake as you could feel the familiar knot release.
You breathed to calm your senses down before you turned around and saw Shang-chi in front of you with a grin on his face. You chuckled towards him. ''Good morning to you too, bub,'' You answered as he kissed you on the forehead before he crawled on top of you and began to kiss everywhere on your body.
He trailed down to your breasts as he began to cup them and then place his mouth on your nipples. You sucked in a breath as you placed your hands on his hair in pleasure. ''Daddy,'' You let out a whimper as you arched your back.
He kept sucking and biting them before he trailed his mouth between your legs as he spread them wider. He kissed your inner thighs before he was faced with your wet cunt in front of him. You let out a moan as you tried to keep quiet since you were in your childhood bedroom and you knew that the walls were slightly thinner than your shared apartment.
You gripped Shangqi's hair as you tugged his head closer while he kept sucking and flicking his tongue. ''You're close, aren't you? My good, good girl,'' He kept praising you while he kept sucking your clit as you came undone on his tongue.
Then, his mouth is on yours once more, kissing you hungrily with teeth and tongue before you felt the tip of his hard cock entering you. You both let out moans while he buried his head into your neck as he held both of your hands over your head. Your legs were wrapped around his waist as he kept thrusting in and out.
You are completely lost in ecstasy as he kept fucking you and his mouth is going back to your hard nipples. You can feel him grinning as he kept fucking you and sucking on your nipples. ''I'm going to come,'' You let out a moan as he grunted and began to thrust faster than he ever did before.
''Me too,'' He grunted as he could feel your walls tightening again around his hard cock before he could feel you come undone again. ''Such a good girl,'' He praised you as you let out a shaky breath when you felt him fill you up with his cum.
He fell on your chest as both of you lay still on the bed, still his cock buried inside of you. ''And Merry Christmas, babe,'' He commented as you chuckled when you felt him kiss on your mouth.
It was a good Christmas present after all.

water- xu shangqi
pairings: shangqi x reader warnings: heavy implications of abuse, clear indications of a past abusive and unhealthy relationship, although with who not specified, ptsd episode, please heed warnings about: request: (DA6) “you just flinched.” with shangqi please? a/n: i didn’t specify it was a relationship with a father, but i hope that’s okay. sorry it took me so long, i wanted to research before writing because it is a sensitive subject. i hope i did your request justice.
it had been months of blissful laughter and breathless smiles spent with shangqi; weeks’ worth of numerous playful complaints from katy, and countless late nights of you both staying up late because the sun bleeding over the shine of the stars had been unnoticeable over the lovesick bubble you two seemed to live in.
however, it had only been a few weeks after you found out you didn’t even know the name of the man you were in love with, no matter how many decades you’d known him or how many whispered secrets you had shared in between the pressed kisses to the shell of your ear.
he had assured you everything else was true, that everything you’d ever shared was real, the only lie he’d ever told you was the matter of his family--and, in a failed attempt to soothe you, the other that he didn’t have feelings for you, a reference to a conversation from high school you couldn’t bother to remember at that moment--and that you could still trust him. from a logical point, you knew he was right; you knew how long you’d known him, but the trust you had had in knowing everything about someone for once had been ripped out of your chest so unfairly, and the scars it left and opened were inevitable and bloody.
you couldn’t seem to be logical for a lot of the time after that, obsessively watching the video taken of shangqi at the bus to find some semblance of the man you’d known your entire life in that familiar face but completely unrecognizable interior.
you’d managed to act normal and logical for the most part, smiling at shangqi each time he came home from work and greet him with a happy kiss. most of it wasn’t acting--you really did love shangqi, even after the colossal lies he’d told you--and that terrified you. you had completely handed yourself over to him, laying your heart at his feet for him to crush if he felt like it, your trust laying to shatter in his arms.
although you understood why-- of course you did; if anyone was to understand, it would be you--you just couldn’t get over how stark the difference was between the shangqi that cradled you close to his chest and the one that fought flawlessly in the field, dancing such a deadly game so beautifully, so easily. it scared you how easily he seemed to enter that role. the logical part of you told you that was stupid, because shangqi had been raised to do that, but you couldn’t shake it.
you watched the bus boy video as much as you could, desperate in finding something that would tie these two doppelgangers together yet separate them as far as possible, as if they really were two different people with two different lives in two different bodies--and shangqi hadn’t lied to you all this time.
but he had, and all you were left with was that cruel realization and the memorized fight on the bus, the ease with which shangqi could hurt someone, anyone--even you--replaying in your mind.
it didn’t help that shangqi was now part of the new avengers initiative, meaning he was going on missions and using his apparent abilities regularly now. you had caught glimpses of his skills when you would get dragged along to the avengers compound to see him train, and sometimes even brief glances of him during his missions--something you’d rather not see again, not after experiencing shangqi at his most ruthless, too similar to what you’d prefer to leave in the past.
the consequences came in the form of restless nights from nightmares and remaining wide awake in shangqi’s arms, too afraid to meet the unkind darkness of your closed eyes, where you are only left with ugly memories and burning scars, healed bruises feeling new, unfair fear crawling up your spy at the touch of your love’s fingertips.
it all came to a head the evening after shangqi came back from a mission, still in his suit even though he usually changed before coming back home.
you had greeted him at the door with a gentle smile, but couldn’t help but take a step back when you noticed the smudges of blood that shone through the dark material of his suit. in the back of your brain, you could hear yourself pointing out the purpled skin that peeked out of the collar, and the cuts that littered his face, but you couldn’t bring yourself to notice anything other than the blood that was clearly not his. you can feel water surrounding your chest, like an anvil heavy on your lungs, squeezing the air out as he comes closer.
you dodged out of the hug you usually gave him after he came back, gulping down the anxiety that crept up your throat. shangqi frowned, the arms he was trying to comfortingly throw around you falling to his sides. “babe?”
“sorry, you’re-- it’s the-- i can’t--” you pointed vaguely at his attire, “dirty.”
shangqi looked down at himself, spotting what you were referring to and nodding, “oh, right, sorry,” he starts, genuinity in his words, “didn’t have the energy to change at the compound. let me shower and change so you can give me my hug.” he shoots you a smile and a kiss that you force a smile at, trying to ignore the way his hands are stained red--the memory it brings. the feeling of the water goes does as you see him retreat into the room, although it’s there at your thighs, ready for a wave to come through and drown you if you think a little harder about it.
you shuffle to the kitchen, distracting yourself with random things as you listen to the shower that turns on until it’s shut off, the bang of the door as it closes, and the creaks of the drawers as shangqi pulls them open, the water that rises to your bellybutton then falls to your knees, only to come back up higher, more suffocating. you barely realize you’ve spent all your time at the sink, washing dishes, until your hand touches air instead of the pile of dirty dishes next to you, shortly followed by shangqi’s voice.
“oh, you didn’t have to do that, honey. i told you i’d do those when i got home.”
you hum distractedly, tensing at the feeling of shangqi’s hands at your waist, and all of the sudden you can only feel the stain of the blood that was on his hands, the memory of blood-stained hands--your blood--settling onto your delicate skin and squeezing your blood, along with your life, from you. the water suddenly drowns you, creeping into your mouth and bubbling in your nose, utterly helpless as you drown.
you pull away immediately, unable to stand the feeling of shangqi’s clean hands dirtying you again. “please don’t.”
shangqi frowns, “i showered already, y/n, clean, i promise.” he raises his hands in surrender, coming closer to you probably to show you, but the ugly familiarity of the events of the day, the water in your throat, along with the deteriorating feelings of the past weeks makes you think it’s another movement--his hand, reaching out to grasp your wrist in a painful grip similar to one of the fighting movements you’d seen him use before during fights, urging you to remember you are not in control, or maybe pull you closer by the skin of your neck, ready to leave visible bruising by the next day. you flinch, trying to stop yourself from moving away altogether, knowing all too well that it would only make things worse. his movements are slow, but it doesn’t matter, and you shut your eyes tight, trying to stop the shake of your hands, “i’m sorry, please-- i won’t do it again, i promise--”
shangqi freezes the moment you react the way you do, taking notice of the way your arms go up to protect yourself, how you don’t seem to look at him, your voice distant and meek unlike he’d ever heard it--muffled underwater--standing right in front of him yet so far away.
he lowers his hands slowly, taking a step back to give you some space and holding himself back from pulling you into his arms and assuring you you’re okay. “y/n?” he starts, feeling helpless when you only draw further away, apologies rushing together.
“y/n, honey, it’s me. it’s shangqi, you’re safe, you’re at home with me.”
a stuttered i’m sorry begins to trail off, but you continue it in a whisper as you pry your eyes open, allowing tears to slip through the protective exterior you had on.
“take a deep breath, honey, i’m not gonna hurt you, no one is, i promise.”
you gulp, silent now, but your hands still up.
“you’re safe, you’re safe,” shangqi repeats, noticing the way you seem to come back. “y/n?”
“i’m sorry,” you whisper, “i didn’t-- i know you aren’t going to...”
“it’s okay, it’s okay. is it okay if i come closer?”
with a slow nod, shangqi takes a few slow steps toward you.
your arms are frozen in front of you, and you sniffle, “i can’t-- i can’t...”
“that’s okay, is it okay if i touch you?”
“yeah, it’s not you, it’s just-- i’m sorry, i didn’t mean to… to make you think…”
shangqi gently sets his hands on your arms, tenderly soothing the tense muscles there until he gets to your hands, intertwining his fingers with yours, “is this okay?”
you nod again, and with care, shangqi begins to lower your arms slowly, until your arms are back at your sides.
“are you okay?”
“yes.”
at the concerned look shangqi observes you with, you retreat, “it’s just-- it was the movement, it freaked me out, i guess.”
“you flinched,” shangqi points out softly, a horrible pain laced in his tone, “i would never--i would never hurt you, you know that, right?”
you nod-- a frantic movement, obvious in its guilt and sincerity, “i know. i know that, it was just the way you moved your hand, it looked like--like a move.”
“a move?” shangqi repeats, tone gentle, “what does that mean?”
“you just… i recognized it and you used that move before, it looked like you were gonna-- grab my wrist or something and i just panicked, i’m sorry...:”
shiny trails of salty tears begin to stain your cheeks, fingers subconsciously wrapping around a wrist as if cradling a bruise there, and shangqi realizes that the “bad relationship” you had was worse than he thought. he doesn’t pry, instead drawing you into his chest and feeling relief flood through him when you let him with little hesitation, melting in his embrace when you recognize it as safe. “it’s been a bad week,” you whimper, “month--just, since i found out about… everything. it’s like you were a new person, with a different name and-- it was just too much today, i’m sorry.”
“i never thought that…” shangqi begins, but decides against it when he can’t phrase the words correctly, “i’m sorry for not noticing how much it affected you. i’m sorry i didn’t tell you the truth.”
you don’t voice a reply, instead offering a small nod.
“i should have told you it bothered me, i just get caught up in the past, even though i know i’m not there anymore. that i’m safe now, i know that. it was just a lot.”
shangqi mutters another apology into your hair, shifting on his feet, “do you want to talk about it?”
you shake your head, “it’s my past. i want to leave it away from my future.”
“okay,” he inhales, “if you ever want to, i’m here. i don’t want you to think i’d… hurt you. no matter what my past is or what i can do--”
“i know.” you interrupt, pulling away from him to look him in the eye, “i know how good you are, really,” you assure, palms to his cheeks, “you’re so good, shangqi, i know that.”
he observes you, gentle pads of his fingers wiping away tears, “so you’re not afraid?”
“no, no.” you press, before taking a deep breath that assures you your airway is free of water, that you can breathe again, and all you want is to forget this, if not for a simple moment before you have to deal with this. “can we just go to bed? watch a movie or something and just lie there? please?”
shangqi senses this, and he lets you get away with it, nodding, “whatever you want.”
shangqi may not be able to pull you out of the water completely, but he makes it easier to keep it out of your lungs.

Author's note: part two of me drinking three coffees and losing my mind
Imagine calming Shang-Chi down after he has a nightmare.
You were woken up by a peculiar stirring beside you. It was erractic, chaotic. Before you woke up properly, you could already tell what was going on and that probably finally got you on your feet: Shang-Chi was having a nightmare. Third time this week, which was actually an improvement compared with what was happening to him right after you got back from Ta Lo. What worried you most was the fact that he wouldn't speak about what was happening in those dreams. You thought that maybe if the two of you talked his fears through, his mind would settle.
Shang-Chi was grumbling something under his nose, and from his tone, it was easy to guess he was afraid, angry and desperate. He turned towards you in an aggressive turn as if something scared him away or he didn't want to watch a scene that was unfolding in his nightmare. Now you could see his cringing face that had beads of cold sweat running down. Shang-Chi's lips and eyebrows were trembling. Was it fear? Heartbreak? Or were his muscles simply growing tired from the excessive contraction? The mix of dark, deep emotions that appeared on his face could make a man on the gallows seem enthusiastic. What unspoked visions could possibly strike so much fear into him?
Before you had a chance to try and wake him up, Shang-Chi sat up with impressive speed. His eyes were hazy, not focusing on the world around him, his breath irregular and panicky. Sweat was running down his skin.
You put your hand gently against his shoulder, which made him wince slightly. His mind was still occupied by the horrors that, somehow, trespassed into his thoughts.
"Hey," you whispered to him, gently rubbing his shoulder. "You're okay, love. It was just a bad dream. We're alright."
His head turned to look at you the moment you softly kissed his arm. It was as if his mind had finally returned to the mundane planar with Shang-Chi realizing that he was, in fact, safe and sound as were you. A heavy, relief-filled sigh escaped his mouth as he put an arm around you and held you tightly. It was fairly obvious emotions were taking him over as he wrapped the other arm around your body, the embrace becoming even tighter. You were an anchor preventing a ship from sinking.
"Should I bring you some water?" you whispered into his skin.
"No." His voice was groggy. "Don't leave me." Shang-Chi's head was resting on top of yours. He was gently rocking both your bodies back and forth but whether he meant to, you were unsure. Seeing such vulnerability from him wasn't common and so you were still learning to navigate around it.
"I'm right here, love," you gently squeezed his bicep.
Maybe your grandfather, a navy officer, was right? "Even an unsinkable battleship needed an anchor."

It’s Bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S | Shangqi/Shang-Chi
Summary: You have a crush on Shangqi since the last time he was here. What you didn’t expect was for him to come back to Macau so quickly, and with new hairstyle that his sister is not fond of. An awkward encounter one morning leads to something that makes you say “Banana!”
Word count: 2.2K
⚠️Warning: smut! Mutual pinning (two idiots in love trope), fingerling, unprotected sex, wall sex, shower sex, praise kink. Brief mentioned of Xailing x Katy
A/N: Wow look! It’s ya girl back at it again with stupid cracky smut! It’s been a while, so I hope you enjoyed this! No beta. Just mindless typed this. All mistakes are mine.
You know it’s a bad idea.
To have a crush on your best friend’s older brother is one thing, but to do this is another; especially when you only met him for only a couple of weeks.
Shangqi lets out a low groan as his hips buck forward, making your back scrape against the cold wall of the shower. His fingers dig into the supple flesh of your buttock while your arms snake desperately around his neck, trying to hold on to him like the last sanity you have left.
“Shangqi…” you moan softly as your nails dig into his back. Shangqi only replies with another grunt as he thrusts his cock in and out of you at a relentless pace as hot water beats down against his hard back. Wet blond hair sticking to his forehead while his eyes never left yours as he fucks you to hell and back. It feels as though he has been wanting this as much as you do.
“Fuck, your pussy feels so fucking good, baby,” he mutters as he gently nips at your lower lips. “I fucking love the way your little pussy squeeze around my cock so tightly.”
His praise seems to send you into a frenzy. Every movement feels like a simmering flame licking every part of you, setting your blood ablaze by desires and needs, and every word feels like a spell, slowly binding you closer to him. It feels like an endless need to feel each other, everywhere and anywhere all at once that all you can reply is another soft moaning that encourages him to move faster.
It all started a couple of weeks ago when he showed up unannounced one night, hair dyed bright blond, shocking everyone, even Xailing. You met him before, and if you were honest with yourself, you have always found him cute.
“What the hell did you do to your hair?!” Xailing exclaimed as she stepped forward, grabbing her older brother by the shirt.
Shangqi was taken aback by his little sister's reaction that all he could utter was the fact that he lost a bet with Katy and Wong, so he had to do it.
“You look like shit,” she muttered irritatingly. She knew she would never hear the end of this with Katy or Jon Jon. “Also, is Katy not coming here with you for this trip?” Xailing looked at her brother awkwardly as she put her hands in her pockets, a way to hide her nervous fiddling from Jon Jon and you. But you know your best friend well enough. After she returned from her “work trip” with Shangqi, Xialing couldn’t shut up about Katy…and her pants.
“Wow! I miss you too, Ling Ling,” Shangqi said exasperatedly as he plopped himself down on the couch right next to you. “No, ‘oh, I missed you, Ge Ge [older brother]’. No, ‘Wow, that’s a nice change you got’.”
Xailing glared at him, and Shangqi sighed heavily. “Katy is fine. As a matter of fact, she’s great. Overjoyed with my demise.” Xailing let out a small smile that it would easily miss if you weren’t paying any attention to her.
“Glad to hear that.”
“I think it suits you,” you said softly with a smile that lingered longer than you wanted. Shangqi returned the same sweet smile to you, making your heart beat heavily against your chest, and your face warmed by the sheer intensity of his smile.
“Thank you! See at least Y/N understands fashion.” Shangqi turned back to you and quickly winked at you, making your heart beat even faster than before.
“The only thing that is fashionable about you is that jacket. At least style your goddamn hair,” Xailing shook her head before ushered you to come with her.
“It was nice seeing you again, Y/N!” you heard Shangqi called out as you walked not too far behind Xailing. You turned and offered him a small smile before turning back to your friend.
“Dude, you’re hopeless,” Jon Jon plopped down next to Shangqi, while Razor Fist sat silently across from them, popping a few pistachios into his mouth, smirking as he stared at Shangqi.
“What are you talking about?” Shangqi asked, not knowing exactly what he was talking about.
“Y/N really likes you….Like she likes you like you.” Jon Jon explained, draping his arm over Shangqi’s shoulder. Shangqi’s dark brows quirked as he stared at Jon Jon until the other man withdrew his arm away from him. “S-She had a crush on you.”
“How do you guys know this?” Shangqi looked at the two men suspiciously.
“She couldn’t stop talking about you the last time you were here,” Razor Fist muttered as he leaned back against the sofa. “She was raving about how great you were in the cage with Xialing.”
“It’s the shirtless thing,” Jon Jon chimed in.
“Oh, totally.” Razor Fist nodded.
“Huh…So what should I do?”
“I don’t know. What do Americans do when they like someone? Do that.” Jon Jon muttered as he and Razor Fist both got up to leave.
“Wait, at least help me out!”
“Man, you are so clueless.”
Shangqi was left there speechless and had more questions than ever before. To make matters worse, every time he tried to talk to you, there was always something coming up to distract him from you until this morning when he ran into you in the kitchen, scrolling through your phone while he just got back from his morning jog.
Shangqi quickly rounded the corner, knowing that you’ll be there, he quickly took off his shirt and hung it over his shoulders. With a water bottle in hand, he wanted to make it a show when he drank it right in front of you just to see if what Jon Jon and Razor Fist said was true.
Except when he walked in, his warm chocolatey eyes locked into yours the moment you shoved half of the banana right into your mouth. Both of you froze at that exact moment: Shangqi started with mouth hanging agape, while your mouth hung open with half of the flaccid-looking fruit in your mouth.
Shangqi blinked a couple of times as blood traveled to places other than his face, and your eyes averted down to see the slight tent at his crotch. The slight made you squeeze your thighs together. You’ve never thought about how big he is or let alone the idea of fucking him, but at that exact moment of whether your hormone was acting up or not, you wanted that man like no other. Perhaps it was his shirtlessness and the way the beads of sweat just slowly rolled down his chiseled abs. Or perhaps it was the dark patch of hair that disappeared just under the waistband, but whatever it was, you could no longer deny your feeling of how much you wanted him.
Shangqi noticed the way your eyes landed on his slowly hardened cock, and he couldn’t help but bite his lips as he noticed the way you reacted to him.
“Y/N…”
You quickly looked up, clearly mortified now that your head was cleared up. “I’m going to go,” you quickly said as you took off suddenly with no destination in mind. You could hear his footsteps not too far. Shangqi quickly grabbed your wrist and pulled you to the closet room and locked the door behind him.
“What are you doing?!” you whisper-shouted at him as you glared at him.
“Ok, I can’t do this anymore?”
You frowned. “Do what?!”
“Guessing! Jon Jon and Razor Fist were telling me how much you like me, yet I can’t get you to myself for a damn minute! And when I do, there is always something coming up. I-I just want to know what your deal is?”
“Wait. Jon Jon told you that I…” you stopped yourself for a bit before you let out a deep breath through your nose. Shangqi stared down, trying not to smile at the way he watched your angry expression shift on your face. It was too cute.
“Yeah…It was like the moment I came here.”
“I’m going to kill him,” you muttered.
“So is it true?” Shangqi crossed his muscular arms over his chest now, which drew your attention away from your murderous intent toward your childhood friend.
You didn’t answer him–at least not immediately.
“You can’t put me on the spot like this,” you muttered softly. Shangqi stepped forward, testing to see if you’re going to step back or not.
You didn’t. You can feel his body heat radiate off of him. His masculine smell lingered in your nostril. You can practically smell his deodorant, it was almost alarming.
“Fine, if you don’t like me, then go,” he said, stepping aside. You chewed on your lips momentarily, debating whether you want to act on your urges or not. Hell, he’s only here for a month, the worst that can happen is he doesn’t like you back and you only have to deal with him for a month…Yeah, sure.
“What if I do like you? What then?”
Shangqi felt like he got KOed by you the moment that questions left your mouth. He expected it, but he didn’t expect you to just flat out say it. His cheeks turned beet red as he suddenly felt so shy.
“I–”
You huffed. “I knew I shouldn’t sa–”
You got cut off by his sudden kiss. Both of you moaned in unison when he leaned in to capture your lips with such urgency. Shangqi pulled your body till you were flushed against his naked chest. You could practically feel his heart drummed heavily against his chiseled chest, almost too much but not enough at the same time.
His tongue plunged into you, licking and tasting every inch of your mouth with such hunger and fervor that he made your head spin.
“Fuck…” he groaned when he pulled away from the kiss. He scratched the back of his head frustratingly as if he was at war with himself. “I don’t think I can look at you and not want to kiss you,” he admitted sheepishly.
“I’m not stopping you.” You smiled cheekily as you watched his expression change to that dark hunger once again, and you can feel your throbbing core pulsating to your own heartbeat. At this point, there was no going back. At this point, you just had to roll with it.
And you did just that.
Shangqi quickly turned the shower on to hot. The noise did little to hide the noises that were coming out of both of you. Shangqi kissed you once again while he pulled down your shorts along with your underwear. You hissed into his lips as you felt his thick fingers slowly rubbing your clit all the while that you palmed his growing hard cock through his gym shorts.
“Hh–hng,” you bit down on your lips as you felt your back against the cold wall of the bathroom. Your legs spread apart, your head tilted to one side, surrendering and welcoming his assault upon your senses all at once. Every flick and every stroke sent shivers down your spine, making your pussy quiver at the sheer carnal pleasure he elicited out of you. You wanted more. You needed more.
“Fuck me, Shangqi.” The words came out no more than a whisper, and it didn’t take Shangqi long enough to do just that. He quickly stepped out of his shorts and boxers, and then he made quick work of your clothes. In a matter of seconds, you found yourself inside the showers begging him to fuck you as he shoved his fingers right in and out of your needy pussy.
It wasn’t long till Shangqi’s patient ran cold. He quickly picked you up with his strong arms and you found yourself wrapping your legs around his taut waist. Shangqi positioned his cock at your entrance before he pushed into you, causing both of you to moan out in unison.
He was slow at first, testing and making sure that he wouldn't accidentally slip. It wasn’t long till his movement slowly became more erratic and wild, and you loved every second of it.
This brings you back to now as Shangqi continues to fuck the living daylight right out of you. Every thrust knocks air right out of your lungs, and every thrust inches you closer to your release. Shangqi can feel your wall clamping in around him as your body tenses up. It won’t be too long. Both of you know this, and Shangqi is more than happy to do just that.
“Please, please, please,” you plead softly as you’re inching closer and closer, and eventually your body tenses up. You clutch his head tightly in your chest as your body spasms and convulse. Shangqi groans loudly as he continues to thrust in and out of you all the while that your pussy is milking him, getting him closer to his own release. With a loud huff, he quickly lays you down on the shower bench before he pumps his shaft frantically. Spurts of white liquid hit your chest and some on your mouth.
Both of you are now breathing heavily, groaning and panting.
You stare at him for a bit before you let out a cheeky smile. “I can’t believe I just had sex with my best friend’s brother.”
Shangqi just laughs. “I guess this shit is…banana?”
You roll your eyes and groan before you pull him in for a kiss. “Dork.”

"You are no longer allowed to pick movies, this is horrible." Shang-Chi chuckled as snakes fell from the air vents and oxygen masks in the airplane on the tv.
"Bro, it's not even that bad, last Friday you made us watch Frozen 2 which sucked besides the lizard." You were curled up into his side with his arm around you pointing at the screen.
"We have talked about this, you know I hate being called bro. Also, this movie is called Snakes On A Plane. It doesn't even sound good." Shang-Chi rolled his eyes at your little nickname for him and continued the conversation.
"Excuse me but Snakes On A Plane is a better title than Bus Boy." You nudged your elbow into his side laughing.
"Oh my god, you are never gonna let me live that down." He sighed tipping his head back to hit the back of the couch.
"Nope never, you could be Plane Boy kick the snakes' ass." You took the arm that was wrapped around you and held the hand that was attached to it.
"Is that what you'd expect me to do in this situation?" He looked down at you with a perplexed look on his face.
"I'm sorry, you would just let me get bit?" You gave him a horrified look at his comment.
"No, but I can't just fucking punt a snake, they're shaped like a noodle." He pointed back to the tv where a snake was slithering around under the plane seats.
"I'm pretty sure you could kick a snake. You just wanna let me get bit." You ducked your head into his chest.
"Alright fine if we ever get trapped on a plane full of snakes I will just kick them away from you." He let out a frustrated sigh and then kissed the top of your head.
"Nah if we get trapped on a plane full of poisonous snakes hyped on pheromones I am jumping out of the emergency exit doors. I do not care how high up we are I am not dealing with this much panic and poison in one space." You looked at the screen with wide eyes as everyone was attempting to barricade the open space with luggage.
"I-" Shanqi sat up from his positioned and released his grip on your hand moving you to look at him face to face. "You will be tackled to the snake-covered ground by me before you go jumping out of doors thousands of feet up. " He looked at you absolutely appalled by what you had just said.
"So either way I am gonna die because I'm pretty sure that much movement would piss the snakes off." You tilted your head at him with a smirk on your face trying not to laugh at his reaction.
"Oh well, at least then we would die together." He wrapped both of his arms around you, your face was squished into his neck.
"That would look so cool in those little death pamphlets they give out at funerals and put in the paper." You kissed the side of his neck.
"I'm sorry wait- did you just call them death pamphlets?" He laughed at your word usage.
"Yes, is that not what everyone calls them?" You pulled back slightly just to see him smile and laugh.
"I have literally heard no one call them that. Those are funeral programs and obituaries." He could not stop laughing at what you had said.
"Well, that's just boring. You gotta have cool names for stuff like Snakes On A Plane." You redirected the conversation back to the movie.
"I still do not understand the point of this movie. They could've just landed anywhere and gotten off the plane rather than wait until they reached LA. These people have a phone, could've just landed in the ocean and told the coast guard the plan so they could be ready. I don't think a majority of these snakes are water snakes or could swim. I really doubt all the dead people are still hoping to get to LA." He was shaking his head and pointing at the tv as he explained his frustration with the movie.
"Hey, they have this perfectly under control. Look the suitcase wall worked wonders." Just as you said that a character from the movie began screaming that the snakes were getting through.
"Oh yeah clearly because snakes can't slither between, over, or under anything." He shook his head at the stupidity of the characters.
You just giggled and leaned back down into his side wrapping his arm around you once more. Picking up his hand you kissed the back of it and interlocked your fingers softly running your thumb over his. You couldn't see it, but he was smiling at your little movement. A few moments went by when he tugged you closer into his body with a small sigh.
"You okay?" You furrowed your eyebrows and looked at the two of your hands.
"You just scared the fuck out of me. I thought you were asleep." He let out a deep breath.
"Hey, what's wrong?" In his tone, you could hear that something was going on in his head. Whenever he was thinking about something that made him upset he always coughed or let out air as if he was shaking it off or forgot to breathe whilst doing so.
"Nothin'." He took his other arm and wrapped it around you.
Tapping his arm that had just wrapped around you, you stretched out from his grip and looked at him. Releasing his hand, you moved to straddle his lap and grabbed his face gently looking him in the eyes.
"You don't look like it's nothing." You tipped your head to the side and stroked his cheek with your thumb.
"Y/n, it's fine." He put his hand on your face and leaned forward to give you a small kiss on the lips.
Giving him a small smile you wrapped your arms around his neck and leaned in to give him a hug, even if he wasn't gonna tell you what was going on in his head you could still comfort him. That kiss told you that physical affection was still okay and that he didn't want space. As you hugged him you made patterns with your hands across his back. His head sat in the crook of your neck, and his arms were wrapped around your back, making your body go into his chest. Shang-Chi's hands were grasping at your shirt and his chest started to heave up and down quickly. You could feel his breath against your neck become uneven as tears slowly rolled down his face. Shifting forward more you put one hand in his hair moving it back and forth gently. In your head you could not figure out what had him this upset, you worried it was something you said earlier and ran through your conversation a bunch of times. Then you wondered if something happened in the movie that could have possibly reminded him of something that made him sad. Playing the plot back through your head he began to pull back from your embrace. Once the two of you were face to face again he closed his eyes taking a deep breath in,
"I know we do this every Friday night, but something about tonight just got to me." He sighed and rubbed his hands up and down your arms.
"I'm sorry, was it something I said? Was it the movie?" Your eyes jumped around his face as he continued to look everywhere but you. Until you said that comment, then he looked you directly in the eyes.
"No, no this isn't your fault and the movie isn't good enough or bad enough to make me cry." He gave you a half-smile still making fun of the horrible film. "When I was little before my mom was killed, we would have movie nights. We all used to snuggle up on the couch together. My sister and I would pick horrible movies just to hear dad complain and make jokes. That used to make us all laugh."
You nodded your head at his short story before responding, "If this upsets you we don't have to do it again, we can just try something new on Fridays or start watching movies that don't completely suck."
"No, I love doing this. Do you remember how in the Lion King they talk about the circle of life? How everything goes in a big circle?" You nodded your head a bit confused as to where this was going.
"I was thinking about how this was the end of my circle when it comes to moments like this. I loved my family and our family movie nights. They always made my week, and I loved the people I was doing it with. Then all of that fell apart, then I became an orphan, and now here I am. Back on a couch, joking about shitty movies with someone I love and love to spend time with." Shang-Chi leaned his head forward and pressed his forehead against yours.
"I love you too, very much. I am more than happy to spend this time with you." You whispered to him and kissed his cheek.
"I just hope this is a happy ending like all these shitty movies seems to end. I don't wanna repeat history." Shang-Chi put a gentle hand on your face.
"I'm no fortune teller, but I can tell you that I have never been happier and I have never felt safer. I will be here as long as you want me here and in any future, you want I will be there. I truly love you no matter what. You will always be my Bus Boy." You tilted your head and kissed him as he smirked.
"Can we share a death pamphlet?" He pulled back and the two of you sat up, your hands were around his neck.
"Fuck yes, and whoever dies first gets cremated, and then when the other one dies they get to hold the urn." He laughed at your suggestion. "If I die first I will literally write in my will to bury me and then excavate me just to share a funeral."
"Where do you come up with this stuff?" He shook his head at you, a smile still displayed across his face.
"Extensive thoughts but also impulsive thoughts. This is what happens when they combine." You gave him a sweet smile with a giggle.
"If we have kids they're gonna be so confused when people are digging one of us up." Shang-Chi snickered at the thought and steadied his hands around your lower back.
"Hey wait if we have kids won't that make this not the end of your circle?" You knitted your eyebrows together and looked towards the left side of the room with only your eyes.
"Damn, I didn't even think about that, good point." He made the same face as you before picking you up and slamming you down into the couch before smothering you in kisses.
The movie had finished, and the time was now in the corner of the tv, "Bro, it's almost 2 in the morning." You took your right hand off his shoulder and pointed it at the tv.
"I'll just multitask. Make you sleepy and get you to stop calling me bro." With a nod, he went back to his actions...

********
There was a second where it had seemed that they had all failed. Ta Lo villagers and Ten Rings warriors alike. It didn’t matter what side you were on, when the Dweller in Darkness had gained the upper hand, absorbing the Great Protector’s very soul with ease, the feeling of dread spread throughout the entire land and everyone on it.
Not only did Y/N feel the intense feeling of dread, but the panic that followed was almost debilitating. It wasn’t even panic for herself; it was panic for the person she hadn’t seen since the entire battle had started.
She knew- she knew- that Shangqi could protect himself, but she didn’t want to face the end of their universe without him by her side. How could she fix that if she didn’t know where he was?
As she stood and watched the Great Protector grow weaker, she couldn’t help closing her eyes and praying to whoever was listening that he was okay, where he was. That prayer was interrupted, however, by a groundbreaking roar. One that came from the Great Protector who had managed to break away from the Dweller’s grip, all thanks to a well-shot arrow by her own friend. One that immediately put the fight back into each and every fighter.
Y/N continued to fight, now with more determination, but she couldn’t stop herself from constantly watching the battle between the two creatures...and that’s where she had finally seen the love of her life...and he was falling through the air.
Her heart leaped into her throat as she watched his figure free fall right above where the two creatures battled for their own lives. But something was happening...something she couldn’t exactly understand, but she could see it clearly.
A bright light proceeded to emerge from the chest of the Dweller, making the creature roar in both anger and agony. It continued to struggle against the power being thrown at it by both the Great Protector and Shangqi, but it was of no use.
In complete awe of the series of events happening in front of her, she was completely oblivious to the soul eaters still picking them off of the battlefield, one by one. She had only remembered their presence when a screech that made her teeth grind against each other sounded through the air right near her. She had only just taken her eyes off of Shangqi when she felt the unnerving feeling of something tight and rough wounding around her waist, and then she was lifting into the air.
Simply on instinct, she raised her staff, the dragon scale clad end of it aiming directly for the creature’s torso, but before it could make contact, another one of its tentacles struck out, effectively knocking the staff out of her hand.
What came next was a feeling unlike any other. A feeling so intense, that it literally took away her ability to make a sound.
She couldn’t see what was happening to herself, but she had seen it happen to countless others on the battlefield only moments before this. Her soul- her very life’s essence- was being taken from her...and she couldn’t do a damn thing about it.
Her hands clenched tightly, to the point where her fingernails broke skin, yet she couldn’t feel it. Sometime during the battle, after seeing the same thing happen to others, and somewhere deep in her mind, she had imagined the process to be breathtakingly painful. It was truly breathtaking, but she couldn’t feel any pain. All she could feel was an intense coldness; a coldness that was gradually moving through her entire being.
Once again, her thoughts moved to Shangqi. How would he find her? Would he find her, or would someone else have to break the news to him? She hoped that he wouldn’t be the one to find her. He would be utterly torn apart with agony and grief. Knowing him, he would blame himself.
In an ironically cruel way, as she felt her life fading from her body, she could see Shangqi’s figure as he grew closer to the Dweller. The light that had continued to emerge had only dimmed in her eyes, but she couldn’t stop the small, exhausted smile from appearing on her face as she felt the slightest bit of warmth from that light- from his light. Even as she was dying, Shangqi continued to make everything better.
Right as her eyes began to flutter shut, she could only send one thought into the atmosphere around her, hoping that somehow...some way… Shangqi wouldn’t blame himself.
Somewhere her name was being yelled. Through her lidded eyes, she saw a blast of some kind, emitting from the place the light had once been coming from, and then her waist was being let go. The place where the Dweller had been was now empty of the creature, and if she had enough energy to look across the field, she would have seen the rest of the soul eater’s disintegrating on the spot.
If it hadn’t been for the blurry view of the ground rushing up to meet her, she would have thought that she was floating. The mere thought of using energy to hold her arms out was exhausting, so she simply closed her eyes and sent another thought out.
“He did it. He won. I’m so proud…”
********
The first step he took as he stepped off of The Great Protector’s back was a step in the direction he had last seen Y/N.
The entire battle, he couldn’t get her face out of his mind; the way her eyes had pleaded with him to be safe, and the way she had squeezed his hand before they had to part. Now, he wanted nothing more than to grab her by the hands and pull her close to him, promising that nothing would separate them again.
Despite being hellbent on finding the love of his life, he couldn’t help pausing to help those who he saw were injured. Some were just injured, expressions of pain mixing in with relief apparent on their faces; some were worse, their expressions frozen in the same look of fear that they made during the last seconds of their life.
It made his heart clench even tighter than it already was in his chest. All of the destruction, the pain, the death...because of his father’s undying love for his mother. A love that had once been his father’s saving grace being the thing that led to his own downfall. The thought made his steps falter as the brunt of everything he had just gone through finally weighed completely on him, but it only took him seeing his aunt running from around a building for his steps to pick up with even more urgency.
“Xiaoyi! Are you okay? Where’s Y/N? Where’s Katy?” He could hear Xialing right on his heels as she eagerly awaited their aunt’s answers.
Ying Nan answered quickly, her voice firm but her breathing quick. The look in her eyes was enough to scare Shangqi to his core as he stepped forward, struggling to get words out.
“Where’s Y/N?”
She stepped forward to meet her nephew, her hand raising to land on his arm. Her eyes glanced between the siblings and her eyebrows furrowed as she spoke.
“You need to come with me. Now.”
They didn’t waste any time as they all headed back in the direction Ying Nan had just come from. Shangqi had to remind himself to slow down so as to not pass his aunt, the only person who knew where they were going. But it didn’t help that his aunt was now leading them somewhere when all he did was ask if Y/N was okay.
Ying Nan’s steps slowed as they rounded the building and so did Xialing’s, but as he saw exactly what Ying Nan had brought them to see, his steps only doubled in speed before he was sliding across the ground on his knees.
He saw straight through Katy, his eyes landing on the person who she was kneeling over. It only took a quick glance at Katy’s tear-stained face for Shangqi to realize that his worst nightmare had come true.
Shangqi reached down, his hand grazing slightly over Y/N’s face as Katy slowly moved over, giving him space to lean over her. He tried not to think about how cold her skin was to the touch. If he had been going off of her body temperature alone and had it not been for her half-lidded eyes that followed his movements, he would have already thought her...he wouldn't dare think the word.
“Hey...hey, you’re okay. We did it, Y/N. We won.”
There were so many things he wanted to say. He wanted to plead with her to stand up; wanted to promise her that if she got up right now, he would do quite literally anything she wanted him to do. There was a small, cruel voice in the back of his mind telling him that it didn’t matter what he said; you weren’t getting up. He pushed that voice even further into the back of his mind when her lips began moving.
“We won. You did it, Shangqi.”
The pure pride in her weakened voice made Shangqi’s teeth clench together in an effort to not yell over the fact that she was still so proud of him despite being on the very edge of death. He could see that she still looked at him as if he hung all of the stars and the moon in the night sky, even as her eyes threatened to close. He was quick to reach down, gently grabbing her upper body and pulling her closer to his chest. His other hand continued to brush over her cheek, shaking slightly as it made contact with her skin.
“Y/N, I need you to keep your eyes open. Please, just-just keep your eyes open. You’ll be okay.” He seemed more as if he were trying to convince himself that she was okay. His eyes frantically looked over her figure, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
“What’s wrong with her? Can’t you help her- can’t we do anything?” The desperation in his voice paired with the frantic look in his eye made it apparent to anyone that he was willing to go to any length to keep her with him….just like his father.
The thought made all of the air leave his body and he had to suck in a deep, staggering breath as he faced his aunt, his desperate questions still lingering in the air between them.
He looked past the look of sympathy, sadness, and finality on his aunt’s face as she walked forward. Katy’s sniffles filled the temporary silence, and he didn’t dare look at her or Xialing. Seeing their grief-stricken faces would only solidify his worst fear.
“Shangqi,” her voice was soft as she knelt next to him, placing a gentle hand on his back, “her soul was touched by a soul eater. It may not be completely gone...but it’s fading.”
She didn’t need to continue for Shangqi to know exactly what she was saying. Her words showed themselves through her expression.
For a brief moment, he tried to imagine what life would be like without Y/N, but it was simply impossible. Of course, he had been alive before he had met her, but only when she entered his life did he really start living. He had started living with only the thought of Xialing being the thing he held onto from the past.
Looking back on their relationship, he wished he had said “I love you” more. He prayed to whoever was listening that she knew just how much he loved her- just how much he loves her.
His head turned back to face Y/N, and this time, he let the tears that brimmed his eyes fall. Why would he catch them when his entire world was shattering in the span of a few moments?
His voice shook as he softly spoke to her, his head bending down to draw himself closer.
“Y/N...you gotta stay with me. I need you- I can’t...I can’t lose you. Please, I just need you to stay with me. I need you.”
Y/N’s hand shook tremendously as she reached up, laying her cold hand on his cheek. Despite her eyes threatening to close more and more by the second, Shangqi could still see the unadulterated love in her eyes as she looked at him. Her head shook so minutely, that if his attention hadn’t been solely on her, he would have missed it.
“You don’t need me, Shangqi. You saved the world. You...saved us and you...you made everything right.”
His head shook immediately at her words as his own hand raised and landed gently on top of hers. You made everything right.
How could he ever see himself as making everything right when his complete everything was in his arms fading as he watched, helpless? How had he made everything right when the very bringer of the stars and planets to his solar system of life was fading?
Of course, he wouldn’t say that. Call him selfish, but he wouldn’t have his last words to Y/N be him arguing or even disagreeing with her. Not when she looked at him with so much pride.
“Shangqi...I’m tired. I’m so...tired. I’m just going to...I’m just going to go to sleep really quickly. Is that okay?
He couldn’t stop the sob that made its way past his lips. Nor did he want to; all he could think about was the light that made Y/N who she was slowly dimming more and more until only the smallest bit remained. He could only think about the fact that Y/N was holding onto that little bit of light, waiting for him to say that...waiting for him to say that it was okay for her to let go.
Shangqi nodded, his tears blurring his vision as he gazed down at her with as much love as he could put into a look. His hand caressed her cheek as he finally said the words that would haunt him until the end of his days.
“You...you can go to sleep, Y/N. It’s okay. I...I love you, so much. With my entire being.”
And then she smiled. She smiled an exhausted but relieved smile as her eyes closed and her chest rose and fell one last time, her hand going slack in his.
Somewhere in his mind, he could hear the sniffles and soft cries from Katy accompanied by the comforting words from Xialing. But he simply couldn’t bring himself to move from his position.
All movement and sounds around him were ignored as he leaned over her body, his forehead resting against hers like they had done so many, countless times before. But he could feel the difference; not just the absence of the warmth from her skin, nor was it the absence of her arms wrapping around his waist as she had always done.
This absence had a visceral effect on him as he continued to sit there. The absence of the very person whose soul had complimented and grown with his own.
How had he just saved the world while his own was falling to shambles around him?
“You made everything right.” His words were quiet, whispered, and meant only for her wherever she was now listening from.
“When everything was wrong, you made it right. It was you. It...it was always you.”
