Summary:

After Lance finds out that the Shiro that had been with them since his disappearance was actually a clone, he mourns and has to come to terms with the feelings that the two of them once shared, and whether or not the original Shiro, whose soul has been transferred into the lifeless body of the clone, cares about him too.

March 30th - Give Me Love

This prompt can be physical or even emotional assurance after a rough day or long trip or period of separation. 

Lance sniffs, wiping the stray tears as he sits in his room, hiding from the others. Breaking down in front of his teammates was something he certainly hated to do, but when they were talking about Earth, and their families, and…

God, sometimes Lance just wanted to go home. He’s nineteen; he should be at home, working to become a US fighter pilot. But instead, he’s here, fighting an intergalactic war for a cause that wouldn’t have involved him if they’d just stayed in the barracks that night.

He sighs, falling back and landing on the soft mattress, fingering the sheets sadly. This was a temporary mindset, he knew that much. Tomorrow he would be up and ready to go defend the universe in the Red Lion, the other paladins by his side.

It was one of the two reasons he didn’t miss home that much.

The second walks through the sliding door, concern for the younger paladin etched on his sculpted features.

“I’m fine,” Lance starts, but Shiro embraces him lovingly, burying his head into his shoulder.

“I’m sorry…I wish I could whisk you away to Earth right now.”

“Not your fault babe,” He reminds the black paladin, pressing multiple firm kiss on the side of his buzzed head, “you know that.”

“I just wish I could do something more…”

“Your love is more than enough, Takashi.”

Yeah, Shiro was certainly the best outcome of their situation.

A Lotus In Winter

Hello @darlinglotor! I am your @shanceflowerexchange gifter! I’m so proud to present you with my story, and I truly hope you enjoy it! 💙💜 Here’s a little snippet from the fic:

“Hold out your hand.”

Lance was skeptical, but he obliged, holding out his hand like Shiro had before.

“When two men greet each other, they either grab arms, like this,” Shiro grabbed Lance’s forearm with his opposite hand and firmly held it in demonstration. “Or like this.” His hand then slid down and took hold of Lance’s, moving up and down slowly. “But sometimes,” Shiro continued, “when a man meets a wom- uh, someone...lovely, he’ll do this.”

Shiro turned Lance’s hand palm down and slowly lifted it to his lips, pressing a warm kiss to the middle knuckle. His eyes remained fixed on Lance’s face the whole time, deep silver looking up through dark lashes. Lance felt himself blush.

“Does this mean you think I’m...lovely?” he teased, carefully taking back his hand.

“No,” Shiro said, and Lance hated the way his own face fell.

The man then bent down and plucked one of the flowers that had trailed onto the grass when Lance was pulled from the water. He twirled it around in his fingers for a moment before moving into Lance, who flinched before he felt a hand placing the stem behind his ear.

“I think you’re beautiful,” Shiro said, smiling down at Lance. “Like a lotus.”

Well hello everyone!! 

Here at Shance Cafe we hope you’re all having a good time as we get ready for a new season of Voltron. We are both excited and terrified of things to come and while we hope to maybe get a slice of Shance Pie, we gotta keep it real and do what we do best during trying and dry times... that is, GIVE SHANCE THE LOVE IT DESERVES.

This is why we’re more than happy to present our second Shance event of 2018!!

SHANCE SUMMER DAYS!! 

This Event will run from June 21st-Aug 8th 2018

That’s 7 weeks of Shance * ^ *!!!

Each week will have two different themes to chose from (and we’ve added some suggestions to help you too!) relating to Shance enjoying the summer

The event is open to everyone in the fandom and will run simultaneously on tumblr, discord, and twitter.

Shance Summer Days will run on a week by week basis so people have an entire week to create something for that week’s theme/s.

Participation is completely voluntary and people can participate as much or as little as they want

Shance Cafe will reblog Summer Days submissions to the blog so people can view all of the content in one place.

Types of content: Art, fic, drabbles, paper craft, headcanons, playlists, moodboards, edits, cosplay, food recipes, and anything else you can think of!!

Make sure to tag your posts with: #shancesummer #shancecafe so we can easily find and sort posts related to the event

March 31st - Right Hand Man

This prompt can follow the canon Black/Red Lion dynamic or can otherwise be a shoulder-to-lean on dynamic.

“Mister Shirogane, why don’t you join Mister McClain over at workbench number five?” Lance’s brows shot up. The senior’s name had crossed his radar a few times, most often for the pranks he was notorious for pulling. His most recent stunt involved rigging the fire alarm to play Britney Spears’s “Toxic” rather than its usual grating sound. The tone with which Professor Honerva posed the question did not leave it up for debate. Shiro rolled his eyes and gathered his things from his seat anyway, patting Matt’s shoulder before moving to the vacant seat on Lance’s right. “McClain,” he nodded courteously, plopping noisily into the chair. “Shirogane,” Lance greeted back, eyeing his new lab partner warily. He had a GPA to maintain, and Shiro’s track record did nothing to ease his worries. The senior seemed to notice his apprehension, resting a hand on his shoulder. “Hey, don’t sweat it. I’m not gonna mess with your grade, if that’s what you’re afraid of.” He sat back with a smug grin when Lance pointedly avoided his gaze. As Professor Honerva continued to drone on about the syllabus, Shiro leaned over and whispered, “You know what? How about you lead all of the labs?” Lance squinted at him skeptically, prompting Shiro to raise his hands with feigned innocence. “Just consider me your right-hand man for the rest of the school year.”

Keep You Safe

The Kiss Me Zine is finally out which means we can finally post our pieces! Here’s mine, which is focused around the prompt “hiding/hoping not to be found kiss” and is loosely based on the song I’ll Keep You Safe by Sleeping at Last!

Summary:

They’d been caught kissing under the bleachers of the baseball field after school. They thought they were being careful, hiding away from the rest of their peers, but a group of bullies had found them and tore them away from one another. Lance had said they didn’t want any trouble, but then one of the jerks pushed Shiro to the ground and called him something awful. Lance didn’t even hesitate to throw a punch. And then another. And another. Thankfully, Shiro pulled him out of there before he got anything more than a busted lip, running away from the school towards the city just as the sky darkened with storm clouds.
