At the mention of Fa Mulan having signed the letter Jasmine had sent, Gigi snatched the paper from Maverick's hand and studied it with narrowed eyes. Before anyone could ask her what she was doing, she shoved it back into Maverick's hands and stalked over to a couch, sitting heavily with an unreadable expression.

"I'm fucked," she said, as if that explained anything or made any sense. "Ancestors help me."

"You wanna share with the class?" Lydia half joked, a bit surprised by the language used by the usually mild-mannered daughter of Shan Yu.

"All of my life my baba has said to me, 'Remember, Odgerel, do not strive to be live me. I was defeated. Instead, strive to be like the woman who defeated me. Be like Fa Mulan and I will die a happy man.' You see my problem?!" Blank looks answered her and she threw her hands into the air. "I can't be like Fa Mulan because she's too much of a fucking legend! How am I supposed to live up to this? How?!"

More confused looks. Maverick shook her head. "Girl, you're the only person in the room who still actually speaks to your parents. You're speaking Latin here."

"Shut the fuck up, my life is over!"

Isle Council

Just like Auradon has an official council called together to discuss and vote on important issues, the Isle has a semi-official one. Regular meetings, happening every time the seasons change, are usually nothing of note. But when the council is called outside of these scheduled meetings? That has only happened twice. Both times were events the Isle, both adults and children, would never forget.

After finding out that Seti, Taban, and Sarangerel were snuck into Auradon by the Isle kids, Beast tried to have Gigi arrested and executed to make a point. Twelve of his military police, armed and trained, tried to arrest her publicly while she was in the bazaar.

Not a single one of those men left the Isle alive. Gigi didn't even need help- in fact, she glared daggers at Diego when he stepped forward to try.

Look, she warned them. She told them to get their hands off of her twice. This was entirely their fault

Shan Yu's daughters have singlehandedly taught the Isle that there's a massive difference between peaceful and harmless, and that if people forget that around them, they'll learn just how much damage a peaceful person can do.

Gigi (Odgerel) loves dance, acrobatics, gymnastics, and things like parkour, all hobbies that can give people the wrong impression about her fighting abilities... until someone grabs her arm and earns themselves a kick that partially severs their head from their body. Seti (Odtsetseg) loves cooking and loves nothing more than to cook for people- if you provide her the ingredients, she'll make you food free of charge because she just loves to cook. But if someone tries to take advantage of kindness, mistaking it for weakness? They'll learn exactly how proficient she is in using those butcher knives. Taban is ever so passionate about metalworking, woodworking, and stonemasonry and if you need one of these things done, she'll gladly do it for free just because she enjoys it. Those who try to exploit her will very quickly find out that she can work metal into far more than dining utinsels and jewelry. And Saran? Yeah, she's a member of the Silver Cross, but Ginny is the only one of them who took the Oath. Sarangerel isn't bound by the Hypocratic Oath and she will not hesitate to remind people of it.

Odgerel is the one who has dibs on killing Madam Mim and possibly Maddy. She'd let Maverick have it but Maverick is forbidden from spilling family blood, so Gigi is going to do it.

Odgerel meeting Mulan for the first time is going to be hilarious, because she'll be so excited she can barely breathe and Mulan has no idea who this child is but this child seems to think she's the greatest thing since Zeus kicking his father's ass. Odgerel felt like she was meeting Johnny Cash.

The 74th Hunger Games sees many legacy tributes taking the stage, brothers and sisters of previous victors and the fallen. There were few volunteers, with one wildcard exception- Zachariah Darhk from District 12, who volunteered for his brother, Harabolos, and who was permitted to be the male tribute as all documentation lists him as male. Legacy victors are an incredibly rare thing so it seems, despite his disability, that young "Riah" may stand a chance in the Games.

But something in the Games is different this year. Something is brewing among both mentors and tributes. What King Adam intended as a gesture to reassert control may just blow up in his face.

At least it will if the mysterious rebel known as "Destiny" has her way.
