First Encounter

Travelers are advised to avoid the burned down house along the western road. If you're lucky, you will only hear voices. Others have never returned. If you see a wandering shaman, ask for a blessing or a talisman. It will help ward away evil. But even some forces are too strong for them, and they must be sealed away for everyone's safety.

Frisk, a novice shaman, was hired to exorcise a dangerous spirit that had been harming merchants travelling west. When the spirit proved too strong, she had to resort to binding it to her very soul.

Every spirit deserves to pass on peacefully.

Frisk: This younger sister greets Sister Integrity.

Zhèng Yì: My~ I see you've chosen to ignore dear Brother Determination's teachings. You know better than to let spirits continue polluting the living world, Little Frisky. 

Frisk: It is as you say, Sister, but this is my journey. I can only hope my exams results are to the High Priest's satisfactory.

Zhèng Yì: ...*tsk* This older sister hopes you make the right conclusion, Little Frisky. The temple's sacrificed a lot to pick you up off the streets.

Sans: oi, kid, are you really going to let her talk you like that?! this chick is seriously giving me the creeps, and she keeps glaring at me like i'm a piece of dead meat...wait...

Introducing the Shaman of Integrity - Zhèng Yì!

Zhèng Yì was born into a noble family and from a young age was able to see and interact with spirits.

As, she grew up, she learned to ignore their presence, but when her parents arranged her marriage to someone she hated the idea of being in the same room as, she joined the Delta Temple.

Her parents donated her dowry to the Temple in the hopes that she will still marry to one of the more prolific shamans on sight.

Shamanfell is the story of Frisk's journey all over the continent as she builds her skills as a fledgling shaman to cleanse or exorcise ghosts.

One of her first jobs was in a burnt down house that's plagued a common merchant route with supernatural activity.

This is where she meets Sans the ghost.

He is trapped in the house and unable to move on because he's searching for something. Frisk managed to convince him to come with her to search for it.
