Flan is the most versatile of the bunch. If you hand him a weapon, or blunt object, chances are he'll be able to put it to use. Jack of all trades, master of none. He's still very, very good, though.

Maeve is a master swordswoman, and is better at it than the rest of the cast. She also knows her way around basic melee weapons, and she's got- [redacted]

Shae is most used to spears, but can pull some fancy tricks with their dagger as well.

Keagan, despite his job, has trained in spear and sword. However he is nowhere near as proficient as the three above and prefers other methods of achieving his goals. He understands where his talents lie.

Robin doesn't need weapons. Aífe prefers words.

Kirby Shae Smith- Week 4

1.     Government Twitter accounts have slowed since Trump took office

a.     Following the inauguration of President Trump, Twitter accounts belonging to 15 cabinet-level agencies have been a lot less active or not active at all. Under President Obama, the accounts would tweet several times a day, but in the days following the inauguration of Trump, several of these accounts tweeted five or fewer times in total. Some of considerable social media-slowdowns include the accounts for Commerce, Labor, and Health and Human Services. There have been three completely silent twitter accounts, and they belong to the department of treasury, agriculture, and transportation. The Environmental Protection Agency, which isn’t agency, has also been silent on Twitter after Trump temporarily banned the EPA from any social media activity, press releases, and business activity. The Twitter account for the National Park Service has also heavily monitored their tweeting activity due to controversial tweets regarding Trump’s inauguration crowd size. The National Park Service has since issued an apology to President Trump, and taken the tweets down. However, the accounts for The Department of Veterans Affairs and The Department of Defense have been very active unlike other agencies.

                                               i.     After reading this article, it is my perspective that many government agencies that don’t align with Trump’s stance on certain issues may chose to stay quiet or silent on social media for a temporary basis. Specifically accounts relating to Environmental issues. The agencies that align more closely with Trump’s beliefs seem to be more active, or will become more active than before.

2.     How the Secret Service handles over 12,000 tweets about assassinating Trump

a.     Over the course of 12 days following Trump’s inauguration, social media has been overwhelmingly filled with death treats to President Trump.  The words “assassinate Trump” have been found in more than 12,000 tweets after a Dataminr search of Twitter. There are so many posts that the U.S. Secret Service only investigates when there appears to be genuine intent to harm. They look for individuals who have consistently tweeted about killing the president, individual’s who have made threats in the past, and individuals that give details about how the assassination will happen. Facebook and Twitter have their own policies regarding threatening posts, however, the platforms are having difficultly keeping up with their policy due to the amount of threats. The Secret Service has been investigating these types of tweets since the election process started, but now that Trump is president, serious threats against him could result to fines or imprisonment.

                                               i.     Something that I kept thinking about while reading this article is how much more of a danger social media poses to presidential elects. In the past, Presidents weren’t always personal witness to death threats, but now with social media, a president can read death threats and potential attack threats over one-hundred times daily. That’s quite frightening.

 3.     Top Trump aide’s false claims of a ‘Bowling Green massacre’ fire up social media

a.     Kelluyanne Conway, a top aid to President Trump, falsely cited a 2011 Bowling Green massacre in defense of the recent travel bans of seven Muslim countries. Conway claimed the attack occurred by Iraqi refugees, but the media refused to cover it. However, she is now facing backlash on social media because the massacre did not happen. In response to this backlash, she tweeted that she meant to say “Bowling Green terrorists” with a link that covers the case. The case was from 2011 when two men from Bowling Green were charged with terrorism related activities, but an attack in Bowling Green did not occur. Many individuals have gone to social media to make jokes such as “I survived the Bowling Green Massacre.”

                                               i.     I read this article after seeing a post on Facebook earlier in the day. I saw someone make a joke along the lines of “Pray for those affected by the Bowling Green Massacre.” It got my attention because I immediately thought of the university in Ohio, but as I read the comments I started to see that it sounded like a joke. I did not get the details of the story until searching online.

 4.     Supporters and opponents of Trump's refugee ban take to social media to put pressure on companies

a.     After Starbucks Chief Executive Howard Schultz announced he would hire 10,000 refugees in response to Trump’s travel bans, the hashtag #BoycottStarbucks took off on Twitter. Individuals and conservative aligned media accounts took to social media to criticize the company’s decision arguing that the company is placing refugees importance over US citizens who are homeless, black, and veterans. Tweets such as “I would rather take care of TEN homeless US veterans than 50,000 migrants/illegal aliens. How about you?,” and “Black American unemployment rate is double the national average but Starbucks is looking to hire foreigners. ‪#BoycottStarBucks.” Tweets in support of the company’s decision were also posted in opposition to its criticizers, using the hashtag #drinkstarbucks.  Uber also faced backlash online after protesting Trump’s decision starting a hashtag #deleteUber, accompanied with photos of people deleting the application.  

                                               i.     Before reading this article, I remembered seeing a snap of a girl holding a Dunkins Donut coffee with the caption #boycottstarbucks. I had no clue what it meant at the time because that was the only time I saw the hashtag. But after reading this article it makes more sense.

 5.     Trump protesters vow social media blackout during inauguration

a.     During the inauguration of President Trump, people vowed to stay off social media under the hashtag #InaugurationBlackout. Individuals participating used social media to discuss anything but Trump. Individuals also participated by dressing in black or turning their profile pictures black to symbolize mourning. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Trump supporters used this time to celebrate on social media under the hashtag #inauguration. Others decided to stay off social media entirely to avoid the negativity.

                                               i.     When I read this article, I realized that I did not notice this on inauguration day. But I do remember staying off social media for the majority of the day to avoid the amount of negativity. I am very surprised that this article was the first time I heard of this blackout.

Keagan: He's the big spoon, and he is holding you tight against his chest so you cannot move all night. Hope you found a comfortable position. Aífe: Varies a bit, but she likes being able to look at you. It's calming. Maeve: She's like an octopus, spooning you with one leg and one arm thrown over you, pulling you towards her. Flannán: He's a big boy, so he tends to refrain from putting too much of his weight on you, but resting his head on your tummy or lap is nice. Robin: Thinks it's adorable when you snuggle up on their chest. Will give your hair a lil tussle.

What is it that puts Keagan and the seelie courtiers at odds? Or what makes their staff like him??

Well, his job as Master of Secrets means he learns their secrets as much as anyone else's. So if you were to ask them directly, they would allude to this through some tacky insult about him. They are less likely to bring up that he is known to treat his staff (internal house staff and certain external associates) fairly and pays them very well. He has a personal conviction that he doesn't sleep with people he employs and they are allowed to have a bit of a personal life. Keagan is of the notion that one should treat the people who work for you well, considering they handle your household and food and know your secrets. This makes him a very popular employer and he never lacks people willing to work for him. Unfortunately, this has the side effect of giving ideas to other workers, such as those who work for the courtiers. It's giving the peasants notions of how they should be treated, as it were.

I'm curious about Saoirse. How did he get her? Is she very distinguished lady? Does she like crazy cat and Kaegan obsessed intruders in Kaeg's bedroom? 👀

He does! He would be absolutely delighted to know that fact, hahaha! About Saoirse: Pronounced "sur-sha", She is a huge fluffy black kitty who roams his estate as though it is hers. I wouldn't say he adopted her so much as she showed up one day like she had always been there and Keagan was instantly smitten. Since he is the master of the house, after all, this means Saoirse pretty much has her run of things. The only exception being the wisp, of course- not for lack of trying on her part. She attempts to catch it often but never seems to succeed. If you offer her proper reverence, attention, and treats, she will majestically sit in your presence and allow you to continue whatever mischief you are clearly getting into.
