I'm back from brunch and liquored up (thank you, too-strong gin cocktail!) which means this is absolutely the first one I'm going to tackle

6. which ship fans are the most annoying?

*laughs nervously* oh boy. oh boy. so many groups I could take pot shots at here, but like here's the thing: which ship do I actually have THE most filtered content for (imodna)? which ship gives me a sense of existential exhaustion whenever I continually cross its path against my will (imodna)? which ship has fans I literally cannot escape from but wish I could at basically every turn (imodna)? And therein we find the answer, I suppose.

To be genuine (and not just vaguely drunk and mean), I find any group that loudly asserts its correctness and gets hostile to anyone who likes other ships involving those characters is going to be immediately off-putting to me. I also dislike widomauk/shadowidomauk shippers because I think those ships inherently lack substance and are wildly divergent from who those characters actually are in favor of incorporating so much fanon that it's basically like Theseus's ship of...well, ships out here. But, like, I expect that from segments of fandom and it's annoying in a routine, expected kind of way. the imodnas, meanwhile, have just been a LOT. Inescapable, often hostile, unable to listen to others' opinions generally. I know there are decent imodna fans out there (I have engaged with some of them! If you are normal, this is not directed at you!) but god there have been a lot of Not Normal imodna fans bopping around basically since the campaign began and I'm just tired of it.

9. worst part of canon

This is going to sound so silly because it's dungeons and dragons, but dungeon crawls. Like, I remember not liking the Happy Fun Ball dungeon crawl specifically the first time I went through c2, and it's solely because I get bored of dungeon crawls really quickly (I enjoyed it a lot more on my second watch through!). But, like, I don't complain about this because it's just a part of d&d and the cast clearly loves the dungeon crawls. I just find them boring, personally, and don't pay a ton of attention when they happen, I think they can be a slog. Which is a pretty milquetoast answer, but I generally like canon quite a lot. so.

The starter is Molly having had a run in with one of Lucien's old enemies and is injured, ship sunk, and only the items in his bag of holding and on his back to his name. He calls for Caleb, knowing the wizard could get a healer to him.

Looking for: A Caleb! Someone who is okay playing multiple characters (if Shadowidomauk we can share Essek so when Caleb and Essek are alone you aren't rping with yourself lol), someone who enjoys smut rp, and is okay with darker material (nothing horrifying though just the usual world violence and maybe some mental illness from his time in Lucien)

((Widomauk or Shadowidomauk, Mollymauk makes it back to Wildemount after a sea battle along the coast that leaves him worse for wear, his ship sunk, and only his first mate to protect them, he reaches out to the Nein…whom he had been coming to surprise. 18+))

This was bad. This was beyond bad. Mollymauk, formerly known as Kingsley, was in the back of a tavern that had given them shelter after his first mate had gotten him off board the sinking ship. An old enemy of Lucien’s, damn the name and the curse that seems to follow him, had spotted his brightly colored self and set their sights on their crew. Molly had suffered a sword right through his center, and was waiting for a healer to be found. “V-Val…Val the st..stone.” He rasped, the Drow all but straddling him to keep him still and keep anyone away. She dug in his battered and burned coat and grabbed the one he described, shoving it in his hand. “Call them. NOW.” She ordered. 

Molly brought it to his lips and took a staggering breath, who could get here? Caleb could teleport. Caleb was the best option. He could get them somewhere safe. He was bleeding more than enough to use it to cast, and began to wheeze into the stone- “M..Magician…Nicodranis…W-Wayfarer’s Co…Cove. Need help. Please…come get me. Living is…nice. In back…with a Drow...Caleb I need you. Please respond soon.” Water was brought to his lips from his first mate after he finished and he drank, the sword still inside him. “I give them one minute to respond…then we forget them and hope the tavern keeper can find a cleric.” Val said. “Ngh…no…no they’ll come. The Nein always come.” Molly assured her.

current otp is a tossup between Shadowgast and Beaujester. I know I look all shadowgast all the time but only coz hardly anyone’s putting out b/j content rn 😔

There’s shadowidomauk, and also jongerrymartin, and also jongerrygeorgie, and of course the fab five polycule (wally’s dating dick’s dating roy’s dating donna. wally’s also dating garth’s dating roy. dick is also dating joey and donna is also dating kory, who are not fab five members but get an honorary mention)

In the recap, Essek and Caleb hold hands after the resurrection fails to bring Molly back—it's them trying to comfort each other over losing Molly.

It's the same as the way Essek “storms off in a huff” and cries for Molly when he sees Caleb look so heartbroken and defeated and kiss his Circus Man goodbye. Caleb still raw with grief, hopeless for the first time in the longest time. "Caleb Widogast, have you ever accepted defeat?" "Maybe today. For the first time."

Caleb loves both Essek and Molly. When Caleb tells Molly things like, "Please don't give up, you can find your own life again--there will be time for that later," and kisses him on the forehead, I think Essek realizes that too.

Essek x Molly x Caleb Writing prompts? So I have started doing some prompts for fun, but I keep finding places to add them into my Shadowidomauk fic (There is Magic in Words). They might not show up in the fic right away, or be changed a bit, but if anyone has any prompts they would like to see with Essek x Molly x Caleb, or just Shadogast or Widomauk ... I’d love to take a crack at it =)
