The Shadowhunters Chronicle: Extras and Deleted Scenes

Hello tumblr!

So I've been working on this on and off for quite some time now, and I figure that even if it wasn't finish yet I could still start putting it out there in case anyone was interested, or had been working on a similar document.

The document is exactly what the title says, a compilation of all the extras and deleted scenes available to us (so far) (and as far as I've gone as of today, may 2024).

Indeed some extras can be find on the internet but aren't technically allowed to be shared yet through official channels, publishing houses having the rights to exclusivity for a certain amount of time (as mentioned in one of Cassie's newsletter https://mailchi.mp/cassandraclare/20221206-7908076?e=eaba486123)

Like I've said it ain't finish yet, but it also won't ever really be finish for quite a few years with more books coming... So I figured fuck it! let's share the wip ;)

Magnus Eccentric Bane

In the show, Magnus mentioned to Alec (forgot which episode, but I think they were standing on his balcony), something about having been too much a lot of the time. Implying he was too much to handle for former lovers and/or friends. But I didn't really get the feeling, in the show, that Magnus was especially eccentric or anything else that could be classified as being too much, tbh. In fact, I would have liked to see him be even more. More eccentric, more extra, more Magnus. NO ANGST! I don't want Magnus being too much in the sense that Alec feels he can't handle a relationship with him, or something like that. I was thinking more in the lighthearted, possibly slightly ridiculous territory. Like Magnus throwing a birthday party for his cat.

Or portaling to Italy because he is craving that one pastry from that little hole in the wall café, only to discover that the baker who made those pastries was fired. So it turns into a whole odysee about finding that baker and getting them a new job so that they may make those pastires that Magnus likes so much.

Or him breaking into a mundane museum because some archeologists found something of his and he would like it back. He of course dressed up for the break in appropriately, in a black leather cat suit. "It's called Cat Burglar for a reason, Alexander." "I thought you were going in glamoured." "I am." "Then why dress up if you will be invisible?" "It's the thought that counts, Darling."

we've had a whole trilogy foreshadowing these two... they can have such an epic love story. they already do. i can't wait to read it.

i can't wait to see kit realizing that it doesn't matter how much time passes, ty is his person. he's so whipped, so catastrophically in love with ty that he doesn't know what to do with himself.

and i can't wait for ty to figure out his feelings for kit. i know he will be so confused at first because why is it always kit in his mind? why is his heart beating faster?

i love them so much.

Shadowhunters see themselves as being superior beings that they could never understand how it feels to be less than. like clary may pay attention to Simon for now but she doesn’t understand having to control your urges (well because she does whatever she wants but that’s not what I mean) and having to go through puberty basically all over again. how it feels like to hide a part of yourself from family and never be the same again

64. even though wolves and vampires are enemies, they go through similar changes. if you’re a wolf, you’ll transform and are ruled by the moon, while vampires (unless you’re a rare day lighter) are ruled by the daytime and can’t be out when it’s light outside. they both go through transformations and are natural born predators

65. it makes me happy to see Simon have friends who care about him and that he can relate to. Magnus didn’t have anyone when he wasn’t in control of his powers and Simon doesn’t realize how lucky he is. Maia got out of control after her first change and before Luke, she was alone. it’s so important for the downworld community to have people be there for them. they don’t understand what is wrong with their bodies and why they are suddenly feeling and acting this way. it’s out of their control

Do you think we'll get some added art or fun surprises within Secrets of Blackthorn Hall? Since we are already privy to the story cuz it was posted free here online, I can't help but hope we might get some added fun art by Cassandra jean or maybe even some other fun surprises within it! Just to maybe make it worth the price?

okay the "Lucie gets her marks stripped" theory I feel like is a solid theory going off only the books but however CC has confirmed that in the first editions of CoT there is a extra short story of Cordelia & Lucie's parabatai cememony. so I think we can safely say that's not going to happen. unless it's like, a "what if" or something but I highly doubt it because shes never done anything like that before & it would be weird to start now.
