There were a lot of things that Andrew Cavanaugh just didn’t do - and the brunette standing before him was perfectly right in saying that cheesy New Year’s kisses was one of them. Truth be told, he had a bit of a reputation, having spent most of his teenage years sleeping with half the girls in Hollywood, and he’d never once had a serious girlfriend. Because of that, he’d never been one to do the romantic things, despite the fact that he’d been raised to do just that - but everyone had always said it was because the right girl hadn’t come along yet. Andrew hadn’t given those comments much thought until recently, but then he’d realized they were right - because being with Eva made the blonde boy do quite a few things that he wouldn’t typically have done. New Year’s kisses, it seemed, were about to be one of them. Allowing his arm to slide a little lower on her backside, Andrew moved his shoulder in a small shrug. “I said I’ve never done them,” he told her quietly, his blue eyes meeting hers directly. “But I’ve never had a girl quite like you to do them for… and there’s a first time for everything.” He pulled his lower lip between his teeth, chewing nervously. “If you’ll let me, I mean.”

For a moment, I can’t tell if Eva is being serious or not. She’s never made it much of a secret that she loves winter, as we’ve spent more of our holidays abroad than at home in the hopes of finding better weather. But between the both of us, we know that it hardly ever snows in Los Angeles. Truthfully, I can’t remember if having done so - like ever. A shallow breath spills from my lips as my hands find her waist, kissing her neck softly, and she almost dances against me, squirming with excitement - making it plenty obvious that she truly believes it. I haven’t checked my weather app for the day yet, and it is cold, but my hopes that it’ll actually snow today are slim to none. However, I don’t tell Eva that, only shaking my head before groaning against her neck. “Funny how it always wants to snow when I planned to spend all day between your legs,” I murmur softly, my tone dangerously low, but she pulls away now, brows raised. She didn’t fall for that trick - how disappointing. I move my shoulders in a small shrug, tugging at her hands with my own. “I suppose I’ll have to postpone those plans then,” I tease her, licking my lips as I nod towards the door. “Want to go out? We need to experience this snow day to its fullest extent, don’t you think?”

⎯ Look, um. I could start this out by saying that you’ve changed me or whatever, and maybe that’s true. I mean, I haven’t gotten into a fight in like six weeks and I haven’t fucked a random girl in a year. I may not be good at this romance thing, or even at being a great boyfriend - but you make me want to be, Evs. And I know Ry’s probably right in saying you deserve better than me, but I like you. Fuck, I like you and I’m standing here like an idiot in your dressing room with this stupid hope that you’ll like me too.
