One of the worst most boring shitty tf shows I've sat through with characters I truly care nothing for suddenly lurched sideways as out of fucking nowhere and for no reason at all a random background character suddenly took over the plot and gave the most harrowing performance I've seen in awhile in this horrifically tragic death scene that had my jaw on the floor. And then we just moved on and never spoke of it again ckdhzhcjof. WHAT WAS THAT.... LITERALLY WHAT WAS THAT AND WHY DID THAT HAPPEN....

It is UNREAL how good the starscream and Optimus bits are in this show. When the rest of it is pretty terrible. I would say after starscream dies it's pretty meh but not outright bad, just sort of nothin. The first couple episodes tho are so funny because they're so bad they had no script and were all but ad-libbing the whole thing. They couldn't go two minutes without getting a characters name wrong. Incredible. Anyway this starscream is legendary for being such an interesting and dynamic character with the best design ever. And just like. The coolest character arc.

Okay but also just like do not watch this show in English. The English version is awful and it is More than just a dub!! The Japanese version was finished AFTER the American version despite being animated in Japan!! Because the show! Was not! Done!!! The Japanese version of the show is called micron legend and it's practically a different show. Do yourself a favor and watched micron legend subbed.

I use a lot of acronyms or specific tags in my posts. They are for my convenience when searching through my blog so that I can more quickly find specific information, specifically character interactions - NOTE: these are not ship tags. 

The tags should follow the this format: #character1.character2. The order of the characters is usually by age (oldest to youngest), but sometimes by the prevalence of the character within the post, or by their general popularity. Effects Pedals

Thom’s pedals are scattered across two pedalboards, plus a few floating pedals. The pedalboard to right of Thom’s mic stand (from his perspective) are for his guitar and bass. That board is configured as three separate signal paths: one for acoustic guitar, one for electric guitar, and one for bass guitar. The pedalboard to the left of his mic stand are for his vocals. That board is also configured in multiple signal paths, allowing Thom to process his vocals in different ways. The floaters are all volume pedals for Thom’s synths and vocal effects chains.

And as usual, this doesn’t include the extra effects added by the FOH mix engineer. There’s doubtless a little EQ, compression, and noise gate on everything. There’s some more overt effects as well, like the vocal delay during parts of Panavision. And note that the vocal effects are all in send-return loops from the FOH mixer.

Happy 2021. I need some straight talk and I know you’ll give it to me! I have burning questions that need answers. Why is Black Lighting ending, but LOT lives on? Does the CW not really get that they could be great if they took advantage of their Golden Standard couple? Why are they pimping S&L so hard? Do they not get that TH is Uncle Guggie 2.0? Barbara Gordon and Red Hood before Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy? WTAF? Does anyone listen to their fan base anymore?

I feel like once LoT “jumped the shark” so to speak in S3 with Beebo and embraced the ridiculous, the media branded it the “underrated sleeper hit of dctv” and haven’t let go of it since, even after it’s “wacky charm” began to wear off. Also, whenever people were upset at the bigger shows like Flash or Arrow, suddenly LoT is “better” in comparison. In other words, the bar is low for LoT. They set the bar low on purpose and it’s working for them.

With regards to Black Lightning, I think it was both a blessing and a curse that it wasn’t initially commected into the rest of the Arrowverse. Blessing because they had more freedom and flexibility with their storylines and shooting in Atl with a shorter season instead of in Canada. Curse because, for better or worse, those annual dctv crossovers are a massive boost for newer or underperforming shows to get more exposure. BL’s cancellation was a surprise though, and there’s def more bts I feel because I’m not convinced that it was purely network decision. CW leadership is largely white, and Hollywood, no matter how progressive it thinks it is, still operates from an old mindset that caters to a white audience.

I also think, with Arrow gone, SG ending, and Flash already being 7 years old (it’s a senior citizen already in dog years), CW needs a mew anchor to hold the dctv together after Flash ends, and they clearly think that could be S&L. Good luck with that....

Don’t even get me started on Titans.

I feel the issue with having live action tv shows about superheroes is that they do have to scale back the heroes powers from time to time to make things interesting. These shows have how ever many episodes per season, for how ever many seasons to try to tell stories and engage an audience unlike the movies where they just have to sustain a story for 2 to 3 hours every few years. The same thing goes on in the superhero movies but again you’re only seeing it in one sitting for a few hours versus week to week like the tv shows. Part of the appeal is the hero has to go through some type of dilemma in the beginning and has to find a way to rise above it all to beat the bad guy towards the end of the episode or season or movie. If the hero is too OP than yes most times the villain should be defeated in the first 5 minutes. Not entertaining tv. For sure it can be frustrating watching these heroes powers coming and going or not existing because of plot but what’s the alternative. Like why didn’t Connor just run Tim to the hospital when he got shot in Titans instead of waiting for an ambulance? Why does Barry not use Flashtime more often? Why does SG or SM have a hard time defeating human villains? Why are they not showing all of Starfire abilities? I know fans talk about the comics vs live action but we all know some things don’t translate well to live action. Also watching these types of shows through an adult lens is also something to consider. Most kids enjoy these shows for what they are, it’s the adults that analyze these shows beyond that due to their own expectations. These are adaptations from comic books. And no I’m not talking about not speaking out about issues such as misogynoir among other issues that exist in these shows, that needs to happen, we need to point out those things. I’m talking about the premise or formula of these types of shows/movies overall. It’s not gonna change so it becomes a matter of whether we get tired of watching them. To be fair the same formulaic pattern happens in most other episodic television shows not just this genre

I feel like that's the pitfall of superhero television, in that TPTB have to balance growth of superheroes' powers without making them too OP, but I also think that especially as shows go on, when a hero's abilities reach a certain threshold, so to speak, and then their abilities appear to regress at the beginning of the following season, there is innate frustration. To a degree, we have to forgive some of it, because the plot demands that we do. At the same time, I think that with more creative story-telling, most showrunners can avoid making this a tired and repetitive pattern. Like, hero not being able to defeat villain in the first five episodes is understandable. Hero being thrown on their ass very frequently, when we know what they're capable of, on the other hand, is not entirely forgivable.

In the case of Titans, though, this isn't really a show for kids, and it's on a streaming platform, so I'm even less forgiving when the show makes these errors when it comes to superheroes' abilities. There are few restraints on portraying violence and on what the show can do, so there's also no reason to diminish their heroes' abilities.

You're right, though, that this is a pattern that we see a lot, especially on network television. It is very formulaic, by nature, hence why essentially there's a lot of rinse and repeat each season.
