Worldcon 75 personal report

Since injuries and work screw one’s schedules, only a one-day event (and us procrastinators may find that pre-sales of day-passes will run out/limited to 100 per day, due to demand)

So me and my son went only on saturday. One of my friends and comic creator in arms queued passes for us. I gave some free scripts but still: I owe you drinks man.

We got there and spent some time on the  traders area (free of charge)

this was also fine find : Chinese SF & F. As if you are the biggest publisher in China population makes you the biggest SFpublisher on the planet(this one)

their logo was also fitting

considering the mascot for the event:

Spacebears rule ! (this has nothing to do with scripting a SF comic about Spacebear with my ex ages ago for comicanthology SCIFI  {2010} which I also edited, What abuse of power?)

As I am a crap photographer and do respect people the ones I asked permission did not all succeed about cosplayers that came in plentyful numbers to have and spread fun

his event was in many ways so mondo cool my meagre words are not sufficient to describe the sense and feel of it. My people of avid readers and creators of Horror; Scifi and Fantasy. I missed most events as the ques were insane.

The artist area was also no photograph zone but tour given by Petri Hiltunen was great. He is a gent, with a twisted sense of humor.

Bought books and DVDs (of maínly bad SF) and had plenty of fun.

While I missed Joe Abercrombie and did not fit into Grimdark panel I managed to go to Nordic Horror Panel and meet Mats Strandberg. Here is pic (no, not one where he is sweaty)

He is the panelist on far left in this. Was great meeting him and I recommend the novel Färjan / Risteily /Cruise for everyone even remotely liking horror.

My son was all day cosplaying Baby from Baby driver and I was cosplaying(like everyday) the old Snake Plissken.

And if you were one of multitudes of people I walked into, so sorry: should wear the eye-patch as after the knife incident my left eye is blind.

but since my son has somehow developed traits of a sarcastical ****(must get it from his mother’s side...) there is also a proud moment like this captured

Yeah it actually weights a bit.

Hope too see the next cons too as these are glorious events.
