Microsoft Admits Security Faults, Promises Strengthened Cybersecurity Measures

In a testimony before the US House Committee on Homeland Security on June 13, 2024, Microsoft President Brad Smith candidly admitted the tech giant's security failings that enabled Chinese state-sponsored hackers to access the emails of US government officials during the summer of 2023. Smith stated that Microsoft accepts full responsibility for all the issues highlighted in a Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB) report, declaring their acceptance "without equivocation or hesitation." The CSRB report, released in April 2024, blamed Microsoft squarely for a "cascade of security failures" that allowed the Chinese threat actor known as Storm-0558, to gain unauthorized access to the email accounts of 25 organizations, including those of US government officials. The attackers accomplished this by forging authentication tokens using a compromised Microsoft encryption key and exploiting another vulnerability in the company's authentication system, granting them unfettered access to virtually any Exchange Online account worldwide.

Gaps Exposed

The CSRB investigation uncovered an inadequate security culture permeating Microsoft's operations and identified critical gaps within the company's mergers and acquisitions (M&A) security compromise assessment and remediation processes, among other shortcomings that facilitated the attackers' success. Consequently, the report outlined 25 comprehensive cybersecurity recommendations tailored for Microsoft and other cloud service providers to bolster defenses and prevent similar intrusions from occurring in the future.

Microsoft's "Unique and Critical" Cybersecurity Responsibility

During his opening remarks, Smith acknowledged Microsoft's "unique and critical cybersecurity role," not only for its customers but also for the United States and allied nations. He underscored the escalating geopolitical tensions and the corresponding surge in sophisticated cyberattacks orchestrated by adversaries like Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war. Smith revealed that in the past year alone, Microsoft had detected a staggering 47 million phishing attacks targeting its network and employees, while simultaneously fending off a colossal 345 million cyber-attacks aimed at its customers every single day.

Commitment to Fortifying Cybersecurity Safeguards

Microsoft has pledged to leverage the CSRB report as a catalyst for bolstering its cybersecurity protection measures across all fronts. The company is actively implementing every one of the 16 recommendations specifically applicable to its operations, including transitioning to a new hardened key management system reinforced by hardware security modules for key storage and generation and deploying proprietary data and detection signals at all points where tokens are validated. Furthermore, Microsoft's senior leadership has reaffirmed security as the organization's paramount priority, superseding even the release of new features or ongoing support for legacy systems. To underscore this cultural shift, the company has onboarded 1,600 additional security engineers during the current fiscal year, with plans to recruit another 800 security professionals in the upcoming fiscal year. Smith also spotlighted Microsoft's Secure Future Initiative (SFI), launched in November 2023, which aims to revolutionize the company's approach to designing, testing, and operating its products and services, ensuring that secure by design and default principles are deeply ingrained from the outset.

Microsoft scraps Windows 11 Recall feature release after security issues were raised

The release of Recall, a feature designed for the new line of Windows 11 Copilot+ devices, was scheduled for June 18. This feature, which enables devices to capture screenshots of every action on a user's PC, was initially promoted by Microsoft as a tool to "recreate moments from the past." However, last Friday, Microsoft Vice President Pavan Davuluri acknowledged in a blog post that significant negative feedback from the security community, along with the rapid development of hacking tools that could exploit this feature, led the company to disable it by default. Users will now have to opt in proactively if they wish to use Recall. In a statement Microsoft Said :- Today, we are communicating an additional update on the Recall (preview) feature for Copilot+ PCs. Recall will now shift from a preview experience broadly available for Copilot+ PCs on June 18, 2024, to a preview available first in the Windows Insider Program (WIP) in the coming weeks. Following receiving feedback on Recall from our Windows Insider Community, as we typically do, we plan to make Recall (preview) available for all Copilot+ PCs coming soon.   We are adjusting the release model for Recall to leverage the expertise of the Windows Insider community to ensure the experience meets our high standards for quality and security. This decision is rooted in our commitment to providing a trusted, secure and robust experience for all customers and to seek additional feedback prior to making the feature available to all Copilot+ PC users. Additionally, as we shared in our May 3 blog, security is our top priority at Microsoft, in line with our Secure Future Initiative (SFI). This is reflected in additional security protections we are providing for Recall content, including “just in time” decryption protected by Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS), so Recall snapshots will only be decrypted and accessible when the user authenticates. The development of Copilot+ PCs, Recall and Windows will continue to be guided by SFI.  When Recall (preview) becomes available in the Windows Insider Program, we will publish a blog post with details on how to get the preview. I usually name them after friends or different fictional characters. Sometimes I have a real reason for naming them this way (Marcus, Mrrrow, Rath, Leo and Roman are exemples) but they’re the minority.

Sometimes you realize that you’ve been tackling this shit with the wrong angle and you just gotta throw away everything you have and start again

Spark, Fire, Inferno is a fic with a very cool universe and I’d love to explore it more. But the fic stands well on its own and sometimes you gotta let things rest at their natural conclusion. Still fun to think abt tho.

Woah, this is really happening. All these new year resolutions I have kept for all this time. It is almost like I am a productive human being. Before I start with the happenings of week two I have to add an event that I erased out of my memory probably for its cruelty. It occurred on Saturday and I am proud to say that I survived going to the sauna with four finns. The observant reader might ask himself to which sauna I went. Easy answer: my dorm has a sauna (besides being called Parenthesen and being shaped like a parenthesis, which is totally bad-ass. Fuck yeah.) In fact, I had been to the sauna with some (non-finnish) roommates before and it had been an agreeable experience. So when I was asked by Erik I agreed to go there. Little did I know that I would end up sitting in the sauna like this:

For 10 times. Or 20? I can't remember and probably don't know the full answer because I had to leave the sauna to drink some water before the fins ended their session. Of course, we also had to go outside in the freezing cold because it was 10pm and snow had fallen just a couple of days before. Anyways, the bottom line is that I survived. If Erik asks I'll probably do it again though.

I started the week...

with preparing a PowerPointPresentation for the last course I ever had to take at university. Although the presentation itself was only graded Fail or Pass I put a lot more effort in it than needed. This in return meant that I missed a preparatory meeting for the International Welcome Day on Tuesday. But Freja, who is the coordinator was supercool about it and because I already knew her from before, I just had to send her a couple of cute gifs and apologize.

So, on Tuesday I was working at the International Welcome Day. Basically it is a day set-up especially for the exchange students from overseas (Canada, USA, Australia & New Zealand, China etc.), where they can get all the information they need to start their life in Lund. In the morning I helped out by welcoming the students and instructing them on where they could leave their suitcases, get their keys for their apartments and so on. It was fun because I was working with some other students together, whose names I forgot in the middle before remembering them again and then forgetting them again. After noon, I switched positions and drove a mini-van to take the people from Lund Central station to the IKDC, where the information centre was located, and from the IKDC to their apartments. Driving was super fun, and while I was concerned in the beginning about me driving another than my parents' car, everything went super smoothly. We finished around 8pm and I got a super nice compliment from Freja. Apparently several people had told her that I was super funny (to work with) (Fig. 1).

On Wednesday Laura, a German study friend, went to the introductory class for our Swedish language course. When I started studying in Sweden I had used Duolingo to learn Swedish. After having moved into my corridor my corridor friends helped me learning Swedish real fast. Right now I am taking the follow up course of SFI, which stands for Svenska för Invandare (= Swedish for Immigrants). The slight difference is that the last course was led by a teacher and we had classes twice a week while this course requires me to study all by myself.

But,

it is not like I am doing anything import this term.  After the course we had our feedback seminar for last term's group report, where we got overall very positive feedback, so we are very eager to see if we get the grade we want and expect. In the evening I went to repair my bike at BikeKitchenLund. BikeKitchenLund is an event every Tuesday and Wednesday in Lund, where everyone can go and repair his bike for free. Of course this is awesome and since students in Lund rely on their bikes, it is well visited  So I have become real good and repairing my bike in Lund. Basically I've changed the tires, the pedals, replaced the cords for the breaks and the gears at least once in Lund. This should normally really be a sign that I've paid way too much for the rust bucket but I choose to actively live in denial on this one.

On Thursday I was still busy working on our presentation which we finally held on Friday. I have been mentioning the presentation and the project quite often now, so I'll explain to you in one sentence what is was generally about: Together with five other students in my course, we planned and organized a mock-up assessment centre for 6 students from Lund University last term. On Saturday Erik, his girlfriend Johanna and me went to the Ikea in Malmö to buy some needed stuff for the corridor like cutlery, glasses and plates because it always mysteriously vanishes over time and we needed to replace it. After coming back we enjoying the ribs Erik and I had marinated the night before and cooked in the slow cooker for 7 hours. After that and finally tidying up my room I went to a house / welcome back party where we played some rounds of King’s Cup before I took a quick pit-stop at Laura’s apartment to say hello, look at the massive paper horse she has standing in her living room and drink a couple glasses of water to sober up a bit before cycling home.

What is the conclusion of this week's blog? Yes, I know, it has been a rather uneventful week. Some might say it was quite boring. And I agree with you. Then again, in last week's blog I said I would disappoint you by writing another post. So for this week's blog it decided to disappoint you in advance. Also next week's blog might be longer and go into more details about stuff that has already happened or has happened this week (keyword: Master Thesis, Skanör). I just have to figure a smooth way of incorporating that into the structure of the blog.

If a type rating has expired, we will evaluate the required refresher training necessary, as regulated by EASA Part FCL to reach the level of proficiency necessary to safely operate the aircraft. Should refresher training be required, a personalised refresher program will be set up safeguarding not only the quality of training, but also avoiding unnecessary cost for the pilot. The refresher training is concluded by a renewal proficiency check in accordance with Appendix 9 to Part FCL.

The teaching and Learning course for SFI/TRIs is naturally in full compliance with EASA requirements. We create a realistic training environment that enables participants to develop their own facilitation skills and we simultaneously take into account pilots with various learning styles and from different cultures and backgrounds. The aim is to provide the best possible conditions for training future instructors on the respective aircraft type. In addition to subject - specific topics and issues relating to knowledge transfer, will be focused on and explained such as teaching, personality, communication, feedback and evaluation.

Google Offers Mentoring Program To Support Indian Startups

To support the growing number of Startups, focused on building solutions India’s local needs, Google India hosted a four-day mentorship Bootcamp for the teams from ten Indian startups. Launched last year as an India-only pilot for mentorship and engagement by Google Developers Launchpad team, ‘Solve for India’ focuses on bringing the best of Google expertise across product, UX/UI and latest technologies, machine learning and AI. so that the emerging startups can do more while they try to build solutions that serve the needs.

At the Bootcamp, founders and their teams spent four days in one-on-one consults with experts from Google and external mentors from the industry to solve the critical product and growth challenges of the startups.

Speaking about the objective behind launching the program, Karthik Padmanabhan, Developer Relations Lead, ‎Google India said, “In the last few years, we have seen the growth in entrepreneurial and startup activity that goes beyond the big metros. We’re seeing a whole new generation of entrepreneurs and founders who’re innovating to solve for real challenges across Agriculture, Healthcare, Environment, Retail, Education, MicroFinance and the Indian language web. With this program, our objective is to build a bridge between startups and the industry ecosystem and provide them with the right technology support and mentorship to help them succeed. We shortlisted 10 startups from 160 homegrown startups by traveling across 15 cities in India, and are now ready to scale this pilot as a dedicated program for India.”

While explaining and talk about the plan in a bit detail, Paul Ravindranath G, Program Manager, Launchpad Accelerator, Google India, said, “We have been very active in India with our global flagship mentoring program Launchpad Accelerator and our shorter format Launchpad events, but we realised that we needed a very local, high touch engagement program for a growing number of Indian startups that are building solutions to solve for critical challenges of India. Through the last ten months, we have focused on building the right mentorship network to support the challenges faced by these startups. And we’re delighted to share that we will be expanding the mentoring support beyond this bootcamp, by launching a structured mentorship program for startups who are using machine learning and artificial intelligence to Solve for India, and run this as an ongoing effort”

In the first bootcamp, startup founders of Nebulaa, Slang Labs, PregBuddy, LegalDesk, PaySack, Vokal, FarMart, Meesho, Pratilipi and M-Indicator participated. And the startup founders provided a kinda short review or impression about this program by Google.

Saat seminggu lagi mau pindah, semesta seakan tiba-tiba bersahabat. Pagi berangkat lancar, tubuh yang rindu mandi di jam 4, pulang pun lancar, Jl. Raya kampung sawah seolah tidak pernah sedamai itu rasanya di selepas maghrib. Ah, pastilah kangen suasana perkampuangannya.

Cinta itu indah, dan setiap keindahan memiliki konsekwensinya sendiri-sendiri. Hidup tanpa cinta itu beku, datar dan membosankan. Namun hidup dengan cinta itu… indah memang, namun rindu, gelisah dan takut kehilangan menjadi sesuatu yang harus kamu hadapi.

Kp. payangan pun rasanya tak pernah sedamai itu di pagi hari. Berangkatlah saya, dengan cahaya pagi menyinari semesta.

Dunia ini sepertinya semuanya indah, kadang bingung kenapa masih mengeluh, kadang bingung kenapa masih merasa : jadi hidup segini aja? Padahal semua dunia indah. Apalagi kelak di surga, semoga.

Setelah menikmati semangkuk bubur ayam favorit dekat rumah sakit omni yang pedagangnya ramah banget itu, yang sering bilang mas bro itu, saya langsung memulai pekerjaan.

Hari ini? Box task-task sudah mulai penuh, dua bundle post it sudah habis. Alhamdulillah, hidup semakin bermanfa’at. Mudah-mudahan, sehingga tak sia-sia rasanya saya hidup. Belakangan metode task box ini adalah best practice agar ada dopamine yang memberikan kebahagiaan. Berdasarkan 50 best practice berikut ini yang ketemu di internet.

Ada beberapa pekerjaan yang menarik hari ini: mengajukan perbandingan harga roda troli & device untuk tracking produktivitas area produksi, memberikan feedback ke vendor rack & ruangan predam, mengundang beberapa departemen untuk meeting re-layout & memfollow up kinerja team untuk task yang diberikan. Hari ini pun, saya kelapangan untuk mencatat, memotret dan membuat laporan untuk tugas dari Mrs. WH.

SD ini bakalan dikangenin banget arsitekturnya, salah satu spot bagus pada saat pulang

Ada sih acara malam hari, makan pisang aroma sama beli susu Nasional, niat membantu bapak-bapak yang jualannya. Selain itu, susah-susah gampang buat nyari makanan yang pas buat Najmi. Pisang aroma kurang terlalu suka, besoknya saya beli manggis juga begitu. Baru hari rabu saya beli donat dan habis dua. Ternyata Najmi mah 2 biji juga kenyang, kita aja ini orang tuanya yang makan banyak :). Yang penting tetap beriman dan sehat.

Hari senin saya nonton Dr. Strange sampai jam 10.35, najmi ikut nonton juga (aduh, ini anak). Tapi memang dicepetin sih, adegan kekerasannya disensor. Ngeri saat lihat Dr. Stephen nya tabrakan. Sampai memar-memar. Kalau saya mati, lalu disiksa karena dosa saya, pasti memar begitu, pasti sakit. Saya harus bertaubat!

Dari dulu saya memang sudah menyadari bahwa saya akan mati, jasad saya akan rusak, saya akan dihisab, saya akan menghadapi pengadilan : Surga atau Neraka. Itu pasti berat dan panjang waktunya. Namun tidak sekeras saat saya sudah menikah, sekarang setiap melewati pohon yang ditiup angin, cahaya matahari pagi, cahaya matahari sore, bersama keluarga, melihat senyuman anak atau sebagainya, saya benar-benar menikmatinya karena saya sadar bahwa ini semua akan cepat berlalu dan tidak akan pernah terjadi lagi.

Saya tentu berharap kenikmatan setelah meninggal nanti, namun apakah itu jadi nyata? Saat saya melihat amal perbuatan saya selama ini, saya masih sangat takut dan mengharap ampunan. Saya tahu saya tak pantas, namun kepada siapa lagi saya berharap? Selain kepada Allah SWT!

Hari ini pun bangun pagi lagi dan sampai… jam 8! Ini tuh udah luar biasa. Datang pagi adalah moment yang paling membahagiakan untuk setiap karyawan. Hampir setiap sharing goodnews orang mensyukuri itu, setelah perkembangan keluarga dan kesehatan.

Saya belum sempet mampir ke kontrakan baru yang alhamdulillah dapat diskon 150rb. Dana dari sang pembawa kabur Red Jupita pun cair 300rb, Alhamdulillah sudah di terima orang tua, meskipun katanya ga bisa kesini di akhir pekan ini. Alhamdulillah juga bulan ini dapat saham gratis. Terima kasih untuk karunia-Mu Ya Rabb.

Well, disamping itu akan ada PR banyak di akhir pekan ini. ya cabut AC, ya pindahan, ya beres-beres. Mantap. PR lainnya adalah menghapus beberapa teman di FB dan hanya berteman dengan yang kenal saja. Ini kelakuan saya di era 2008-2009 sih, main add-add aja, sampai 5000 teman full… dan sebagian banyak tidak saya kenal.

Di satu sisi, Saya beneran puyeng, masalah sama yang saya tulis di bagian lain rasanya membuat saya agak kelenger. Mau ikhlas tapi ko gak ikhlas, coba nenangin tapi ko gak tenang, rasanya masih ada yang salah, tapi saya tidak bisa berbuat banyak. rasanya menghadapi sesuatu yang menyeramkan. Mungkin hanya perasaan saya saja, mungkin saya hanya perlu menenangkan diri saja. Sepertinya begitu, Beliau adalah Pusaka Hidup, dan kamu harus melakukan segalanya meskipun kadang tidak sesuai dengan keinginan hatimu. Begitu.

Ah… jadi pengen liburan berdua saja sama Ummah.

Sudah jam 4, sudah 1 jam berlalu, main HP, shalat, baca qur’an, main HP lagi. Kebanyakan main HP jadinya gini lagi. Harus dikurangi intensitas sama HP. Hmm, tapi ini terjadi hanya disaat tertentu kok.

Itulah saya, kadang sudah sering tahu bahwa saya salah, tapi masih dilakukan. Karena apa? Apa karena hal yang benar tidak memberikan kebaikan? Apakah kamu meragukan kebenaran?

Seringkali menulis sendirian dan sadar bahwa tak ada yang baca, membuat saya kelepasan saat bicara unek-unek yang ada di fikiran. Tidak semua orang peduli dengan isi kepala saya, dan tidak semua orang yang menganggap bahwa keterbukaan itu indah. Jadi tetaplah sopan dan elegan. Jangan mengumbar segala apa yang difikiran, khususnya saat menemukan saat untuk bicara.

Ini adalah sebuah premis : 3 ta (harta, tahta & wanita) adalah ujian, tapi justru itu menariknya dari dunia! Dan kita harus menghindarinya, rakus padanya, fokus padanya, ingin tenggelam padanya! Padahal tujuan hidup adalah bermanfaat, disisi lain kepala ini mikir : Apa enaknya bermanfaat buat orang lain? Jadi babu… dipermainkan, cuma dicari saat dibutuhkan, apa enaknya?

Coba lihat yang jadi ustadz di kampung, ditinggalin, masyarakat cuma segan di depan tapi pada masing-masing saat butuh, sebenarnya manfaatnya sama aja kaya Aa gym, tapi ko bisa banyak jamaah gitu? Bisa kaya? Bisa banyak yang bantu? Bisa makmur? Bisa sukses?

Begitulah, kan ada ayat Al-qur’annya, syetan itu kerjanya bikin gagal fokus. Hal yang penting jadi ditakut-takuti lah, hal yang ga penting malah di indah-indahin. Kalau main logika, kita pasti kalah, toh mereka usianya udah ribuan tahun, udah pinter banget, kita? Anak baru kemarin. Sama syetan mainnya jangan pake akal, jangan pake logika, jangan pake perasaan lagi… dia mah pinter psikologi, pinter psikiatri.. yang dipake itu keimanan! Nah… karena mereka gak punya iman! Kita harus punya!

Di lain cerita, Di usia 24 tahun KH. Hasyim Asy’ari udah jadi haji, beliau sudah pulang dari mekah dan sudah membangun pesantren. Pesantren saya mana? Akhlak calon ustadz nya mana?

Jangan suka banding-bandingin diri, hidup siapa yang ngatur? Memangnya yakin besok masih hidup? Coba tanya diri sendiri, hari ini sudah bagus apa belum? Coba jangan bandingin sama yang lebih segalanya, bandingin itu sama mereka yang kena tumor, yang lumpuh dari kecil, yang gak bisa lihat, yang sakit. Kamu masih hidup itu udah beruntung.

KH. Hasyim asy’ari di usia 50 tahun masih nikah lagi dan masih punya anak 4. Lihatlah mereka, ta’atlah kepada Allah. Maka tidak akan ada lagi rasa takut dan gelisah.

Selasa adalah hari tanpa meeting, namun saya menyelesaikan beberapa penawaran : device, roda & mesin punching busbar. Selasa saya beli manggis, ternyata Najmi ga suka, asem! Ini hari kedua uji coba makanan buat Najmi dan gagal 😀

Ada tugas lain : Popok, MP-Asi & Facial Foam. Belum close juga nih. Sampai rumah masih lancar saja. Saya capek dan tidur jam 9 seperti biasa. Semoga hari ini pun barokah untuk kelak di akhirat.

Ngitung hari lagi nih, ngapain ya? Dzikir aja… Mau kerja juga gak sumanget, kerjaannya monoton, ah lu mah, nyalahin kerjaan aja. Astaghfirullah!

Sebenarnya bukan monoton, udah 2 hari pekerjaan sedang menunggu orang lain. Pengerjaan gedung B sudah dimulai, itu sebuah prestasi. Yang lainnya saya masih nunggu quotation. Tim saya masih bergerak, jadi bottle neck nya gak di saya untuk saat ini.

Saya Berangkat jam 6.20, setelah sarapan nasi goreng bawang buatan ummah. Enak. dan gurih, saya lalu berangkatlah, dan jalanan masih lancar seperti biasa. Semesta masih mendukung!

Sebenarnya ada tugas SFI, dashboard dan WH, tapi bosen ngerjainnya. Hehe, itu pekerjaan udah berulang sejak 2010, udah sejak 8 tahun lalu mengerjakan itu sehingga saya udah mulai keleyengan mantap. Professional sejati harusnya sih ga kaya gini

Fikiran saya pun melayang menuju beberapa ide :

Saya sering takut sama kesalahan saya sendiri, takut sendirian, takut ditinggalin. Saya sadar saya belum baik dan mungkin saya belum sadar dampaknya. Saya harus berubah lebih baik, ayolah war! Jadi lebih baik

Hindarilah Mental Miskin, Mental miskin itu :  Gak pernah merasa cukup, udah banyak, gak mau berbagi. Mental miskin itu masih muda, manfaat buat masyarakat masih banyak, tapi kerja pengen males-males, pengennya cuma jadi juragan kontrakan atau tukang jaga wc. Mental miskin itu waktunya habis cuma buat update status garing, membanding-bandingkan diri, ngegosip

Seni itu bukan vulgar, tapi cantik. Bukan harus terbuka semua, tapi elegan.

Musuh penipu yang paling ulung adalah dirimu sendiri, dia terkadang ingin mencapai sesuatu tapi malah melakukan yang lain. Dia ingin kurus, tapi malah makan banyak, penegn kaya, tapi cari aman, pengen aman, tapi malah maksiat. gitu loh

Bismillah…. ini adalah sebuah pemikian yang panjang

Di satu sisi saya mikir : Mau jadi kyai juga atau mau ngapain? Astaghfirullah. Hati ini masih aja labil. Saya harus menentukan bahwa saya hidup ini mau jadi apa?

Entah mau ngapain. Saya harus ada project lain yang out of the box, pernahkah kamu tanyakan lagi pada dirimu? Mau jadi apa? Apa rencanamu? Dimana rencanamu? Bagiamana cara kamu berfikir?

Rasanya sudah 3 tahun saya tidak berfikir apa-apa selain menjalankan rutinitas saja. Tidak punya mimpi, tidak ada visi. Semuanya hanya kerja, rumah, bayar KPR, bayar motor, orang tua, anak, keluarga. Semuanya. Minimal yah hingga tahun 2006. Mungkin begitu, kita terbuai dengan rutintas lalu tau-tau sudah tua. Berinovasi lah.

Jadi mau jadi apa?

Cita-cita saya ya bikin pesantren. Entah dimana, entah bagaimana. Saya ingin mati dengan keyakinan yang mantap pada Islam. Saya ingin menjadi pribadi yang teguh seperti Aa Gym, UAH. Atau para ustadz dan auliya yang saya kenal.

Saya ingin merasakan dalam hidup itu sekali saja, diyakinkah Allah SWT seperti Allah SWT meyakinkan Nabi Ibrahim AS. Saya bukan nabi, saya bahkan bukan keturunan wali, saya belum pernah dengar nenek moyang saya adalah ulama besar atau raja jaman dulu. Yang saya tahu saya ada darah yang sama, darah seorang nabi : nabi Adam AS.

Satu pilihan saya adalah tetap yakin, seyakin-yakinnya. Itulah saya, tidak bisa jadi assabiq namun harus terus berusaha untuk jadi orang sholeh dan yakin. Jika sampai mati kamu tidak dapat suatu ilham atau kejadian atau anugerah yang meyakinkan kamu gimana? Apa kamu akan tetap yakin kepada Allah SWT? Ya… saya akan tetap yakin. Saya tidak bisa mengancam Allah : Ya Allah, yakinkan saya! Jika Engkau tidak yakinkan saya, maka saya tidak akan yakin! Memangnya siapa saya? Saya sadar saya makhluk… hanya bisa berharap, tidak bisa memaksa.

Seperti di cerpen do’a yang mengancam atau seperti orang suku di Batam yang bilang : Saya mau masuk Islam kalau ada yang menghajikan, saya tidak berani. Bagaimana jika Allah tidak merespon? Tidak ada kewajiban Allah merespon mereka yang mengancam kan? Lalu bagaimana jika Allah marah? Atau ajal saya ketemu pada saat saya menguji coba tersebut?

Saya hanya bisa menangis… memohon dengan sangat… tahajud, meresapi, menghiba, merendahkan diri. Menyadari bahwa karunia Allah sudah banyak. Dan meyakininya adalah wujud syukur kepada Allah. Itulah jalan hidup saya.

Sementara itu… apa yang saya lakukan apakah sudah cukup untuk menjadi orang yang menghiba kepada Allah? Saya sehari-hari cuma kerja saja. Mendalami engineering dan beberapa project, membesarkan anak-anak. Mengaji semampunya.

Apa yang saya lakukan itu sudah baik?

Sekarang saya cuma bisa dengerin, coba tulis, coba sampaikan. Saya tidak pintar. Cobalah menasihati,  Saya udah coba. Nulis status Tapi ga banyak yang suka. Berbagi cerita pribadi begitu, gak banyak yang baca. Ya sudah, itu berarti rejekinya, setidaknya kan sudah berusaha.

Apa ada usaha lain yang lebih baik agar tulisan ini di dengar? Ya Ada! Nanti dijelaskan dibawah, insya Allah.

Jangan cuma bagi cerita sehari-hari, Bagilah ilmu. Manusia tidak butuh cerita hidupmu. Atau siapa tau mereka tidak butuh cerita. Mereka hanya butuh cerita hidupmu saat kamu terkenal.

Apa yang bisa saya bagi? Apa yang kamu tahu dari Islam?

Saya coba jelaskan disini :

Qur’an,

Ada berapa surat dalam Al-Qur’an ? 114. Dari 114 mana yang paling kami fahami? Alfatihah. Kenapa? Sudah baca tafsirnya dan suratnya pendek. Surat yang lain? Pernah baca tafsir QS annaba. Tapi gak hafal lagi. Panjang. Pernah baca tafsir sebagian surat tapi lupa yang mana dan tentang apa.

Dari 114 surat sudah hafal berapa juz? 1 juz + arrahman + alfatihah. Masih hafal? Sebagian masih, sebagian pernah aja.

Coba jelaskan alfatihah… sudah, di tulisan yang lain.

Albaqarah. Baru sampai ayat 40, hafal? Beberapa. Mana yang dihafal :

5 ayat tetang mu’minin, 2 ayat tentang kafirin, 13 ayat tentang munafikin. Lalu ayat tentang ketakwaan, penciptaan nabi adam dan sindiran bagi para bani isra’il yang tidak mengimani Rasulullah SAW padahal.

Baik. Sebutkan tanda orang munafik. : Mereka menyangka bahwa mereka memperbaiki dengan menjaga ikatan baik dengan mush-musuh islam, misalnya dalam hal kepemimpinan, padahal itu sebenarnya buruk.

Baik itu aja? Apa aja nasihat dari Al-Qur’an yang kamu tahu ? Dari Ali imron? …. Surat sepanjang itu kamu gak dapet nangkap apa2? Gak ada yang dihafal?

Annisa? Tentang nikah boleh 2,3 atau 4, lalu tentang warisan, tentang hutang,

Sudah menemukan ayat tentang manufaktur? Katanya mau buka buku tentang manufaktur… Tentang mubadzir, lean itu menghilangkan hal yang mubadzir. technically? Akal kita saja yang harus memikirkan untuk pengamalannya

Lalu? 5S untuk kebersihan sebagian dari iman… itu kan hadits! Lalu? Apa masalah dalam hidup yang ada dalam qur’an… masalah hidupmu..

konflik sama orang tua : Ta’atiah orang tua, berbakti kepada orang tua

lalu? Bekerja… jujurlah, jangan seperti munafik… inovasi? Ada ga? Sepertinya ada tapi belum nemu. Udah annisa? Attaubah… tentang perang?

Lalu… al-anfal, arra’du, dan banyak terus… Masih banyak yang harus dipelajari.

Masih mau dipanggil kyai? ga mau. Maksudnya saya udah siap belum buat jadi manusia yang cerdas? Kalau itu…

Lalu hadits… berapa hadits yang dihafal? Berapa hadits yang difahami?

Saya tahu, tentang tahajud, sumbernya? Ya buku sih, haditsnya ga hafal, tapi ada seperti surat al-muzammil. Lalu kitab apa saja yang sudah khotam? Safinah? Az-zubad?

Selalu ada hal baru yang ditemukan setiap orang setiap harinya. Sedangkan saya tidak bisa mengejar yang lama sekalipun.

Ya, saya tidak membaca matan zubad, Tapi ada beberapa buku baru yang saya baca… misalnya? Ya informasi baru lah, misalnya? Sampah semua kali yang dibaca? Enggak lah… tapi…

Oke, setuju, jadi apa yang dibaca itu datang terus yang baru, tapi gak dikerjain juga yang lama. Ayolah, kejar. Kerja juga gitu-gitu aja.

    Ya, hidup itu harus bisa ngasih manfaat. Kamu udah gitu? Ya buat keluarga makanya… coba mikir lebih besar… berbagi nasihat lah. Ada manfaatnya gitu? Iya… biar mereka tuh ga males2, aktif, proaktif, ada yang lebih real ga?

Selain itu, saya ada cita-cita, pengennya nih ya, pengunjung blog membludak, nih caranya ya, udah baca 3 blog nih :

1. SEO SEO ada 2, onpage sama offpage, on page dalam konten, offpage di luar konten. Cara unik : ikut seminar, bagi-bagi dah itu link.

Makanya judulnya kudu enak diingat dan tujuannya kudu jelas cuy… bukan cerita harian doang dong. Kalau memang pengen biar gak galau. buat website anti galau. dipisahin, kalau memang mau professional. Seriously. People don’t need your story. untill you famous.

Jadi, kalau memang website pengen buat pengembangan diri, pengen hidup tanpa gelisah, pengen mati enak. Fokusin website lu buat itu. bukan website curhatan doang.

2. Sosial media

Situs kedua kurang lebih sama, cuma ada pengantar tentang sosial bookmarking. Apaan tuh? Blog ketiga, menawarkan download + javascript, hampir sama yang lainnya mah, daftarin ke blogsearching. dan yang baru, namanya blog catalog.

kalau tanpa tema yang jelas, jadinya yah yang untung-untungan saja nemu website saya. Kenapa kamu mau nulis website ini.

Nama web saya apa ya? tanpa gelisah? neversad? ceria? malas… perlu nama yang muda gitu loh.

Ini tuh masukin blog ke directory, sehingga orang yang nyari, mudah nemuin. Ada-ada aja idenya. Yang mudah, malah bikin orang tuh cepat gonta-ganti. Misalanya : blogcatalog.com. dsb

Tapi anyway masih bingung : kamu tuh hidup mau ngapain? Kalo hal kecil sebenarnya… hal kecil apa yang mau kamu lakuin? kalo besar, ya mau besar apa yang kamu lakuin?

Saya mau bermanfaat, saya mau lebih baik dari orang tua saya, saya mau hari tua saya, minimal saya bisa mengunjungi mesir, lihat piramida, seperti di buku dongeng nya Najmi. Atau punya perusahaan!

Nah soal perusahaan ini, saya kefikiran soal perusahaan apa yang mau dibuat?

Jika saya masih keadaan seperti sekarang, dan saya kekeh untuk tidak meminjam ke bank, khusunya bank konvensional, Maka tahun berapa mau berhenti kerja? kalau nurutin hutang lunas sih, tahun 2038.

tapi saya udah bilang, kalau tujuan kerja itu bukan dengan tujuan saya bisa turun gaji, karena gaji minimal harus tetap segitu.

Jadi… ya saya harus punya rencana untuk dapat penghasilan minimal 10juta! lalu saya harus dapat omset berapa, kerja apa, berapa modalnya dan apa?

Ada contoh beberapa perusahaan yang dimulai temen?

Suaminya temen, sewa bus. Buat sewa mobil begitu, satu mobil harganya bisa 165 juta, 1 harinya, bisa 300ribu. cicilannya berapa? harus punya uang berapa buat jaga-jaga mobil gak laku. gitu loh. Atau sewa bus.

Berani gak? Keren kan? Coba beresin konsepnya!

iya loh, dari 1 mobil bisa sampe dapet 4.000.000 (kalo full), bisa jadi 9juta per bulan, bisa sampe 5 tahun kan dapet bonus mobil balik.

Ditambah lagi setelah 5 tahun. Masalahnya, berani gak? Gimana kalau ternyata ga laku? Gimana kalau mobil dibawa kabur? Belum nyari rumah buat garasi nya, apalagi kalau itu mobil udah masuk ke grab. Udah lah… dapet tuh 18juta per bulan, 9 juta buat cicilan, 9 juta buat simpenan.

Yang lain berani loh, sampe kapan lu mau main aman? Mau jadi pengusaha tapi udah lama jadi karyawan itu, kayak orang mau belajar berenang. kaya orang mau tobat. Takut-takut gimana gitu. Harus main air dulu. biar tenang dulu.

Kedua, orang yang saya kenal itu bikin pabrik!

Kenalan saya ada yang bikin pabrik. ga mau kecewa, ga mau sakit, ga mau dikejar hutang. Harus bisa dikejar hutang. Ga mau ngobranin keluarga. Atau celakanya kamu ga berani.

Temen ada yang bikin toko gorden, toko fotocopy, buat bikin toko gitu, anggaplah warung. Menurut saya perlu modal 100 juta.

Emang mau apa aja yang di jual sembako lah, lihat pengeluaran harian. Sampo, ada berapa keluarga di sekitar rumah? 100? 150? 200?

Anggaplah di RT 1 aja. 1 warung paling 1/2 RT. Jadi misalnya cuma 20 orang. 1 keluarga itu paling belanja seharinya jajan 5ribu X 20 = 100ribu per hari, bulanan 100ribu. Seru juga sih, bantuin orang desa gitu bikin warung-warungan. cari lokasi warungku, training mereka.

modal awal paling 20.000.000, lalu dari tiap warung dapat untung 2.800.000, kasih untung 50%-50%, kasih mereka 1 juta. cari anak muda aja. Nanti dicatat. Harus belajar sistem HRD juga. minimal dari 1 warung = misalnya 2.8 jt. ya, buat mahasiswa aja. nanti untungnya kena 50%. modalnya, kontrakan 500ribu, 5 juta tuh!

Cicilan berapa? 2.5 juta cicilan untuk 5 tahun. jadi masih sisa 2.5 juta. untuk ummah tuh. mantap. kalau 1 warung dulu? 20juta, gimana? bisa tuh..

Jadi tugas saya, apa?

Setelah berfikir dan berseteru saat shalat ashar, dan sekarang sudah jam 3.33 saya memiliki beberapa PR :

1. Saya harus tahu tujuan hidup itu apa, mau jadi kyai seperti KH. ma’ruf amin? mau jadi pengusaha seperti Pak chairul tanjung? Mau jadi anggota muspida? Mau jadi penulis seperti tereliye? atau mau jadi apa? Jangan mudah tergiur dan mengubah haluan!

2. Saya rasa saya mau jadi seperti Buya Hamka… penulis dan kyai. Dan biar jadi ulama kamu mau apa? kapan? bagaimana? Mau ziarah? kapan? mau ngajar? kapan? mau bikin pesantren? kapan? bagaimana?

Semuanya harus jelas dan fokus. Bisa ngejar yang lain selama tujuan utama kamu bener, lalu terukur, jelas. Mau tidak mau untuk sebuah tujuan besar, saya tidak bisa sendirian.

Lagipula, ini tujuan yang utama aja belum jelas. Iya udah, jadi Ummat yang bermanfa’at! jadi bikin usaha, bakal ganggu jadwal tafsir ibnu katsir mu gak? gak tahu, harus dianalisa dulu.

Gitu… kapan?

ketiga. soal ibu, ibu marah besar karena saya menyembunyikan sejumlah uang selama ini darinya. Meskipun itu uang saya. Dia pengen semua uang dilaporkan, seperti pejabat negara melaporkan kekayaannya kepada KPK. Darimana? untuk apa? Nanti KPK bakal ngajuin saran dan minta bagian. Sebagian kecil. Begitu.

Nanti diminta lah, infak sana, infak sini, selamatan itu, selamatan ini. Mesti gini. Memang apa sih yang ibu minta?

Biasanya ya : aqiqah => 2,5 X 4 anak = 17.5 juta lah, tanah => 10 juta, benerin rumah => 20 juta, Total : 47.5 juta

tugas saya bisa bagian supply + kontrol. uang diambil setiap hari, jam 5. Nanti dicari bagian keuangan & penagihan. Nanti kalo udah stabil. Ya, udah..

mestinya bisa dimulai nih. Selanjutnya apa? Mau mulai di bulan april? paling mungkin sih tanggal segitu. Anak-anak masih kecil, ga mungkin pake ummah. siapa dong? Mamah sama bapak? ga enak juga… ga mungkin. kalo saya berenti kerja sekarang sama ummah? Habis lebaran?

Coba aja dulu. Kita buka usaha. caranya? Anak2 udah mau 3 tahun. Saya berhenti kerja gimana? Kseulitan nya disini adalah leadtime yang jauh, siapa ya? bisa gitu dikontrol setengah gitu?

jadi pas pulang, barulah dilihat, sisa berapa uang berapa. Cuman harus jujur orangnya. Siapa? Bisa sih pake CCTV, 5 juta. Aman. Insya Allah. Well jadi sudah nih Scenario, cari modal > cari toko > belanja > beli mesin > install CCTV > cari karyawan >

kalo dah begini jadi lah, degdegan, panas, pengen segera lari. nanti biar tenang dulu baru mikir lagi. Break dulu lah.

Rabu itu time to think, seperti sebuah jeda untuk sebuah perang yang besar. Karena faktanya besoknya saya berperang dengan mantap tentang re-layout dan WH.

Pulang kerja malam berjalan seperti biasa, kita beli donat dan kali ini berhasil membuat Najmi mau makan, meskipun dua donat saja dia makan. Saya juga beli seblak ceker, sebuah makanan pemancing sebelum pesta seblak di malam jum’at.

Sebuah malam-malam yang sehat dan bahagia, syukurlah dan alhamdulillah. Disadari, malam seperti ini telah berlalu dan akan berlalu, harapannya tentu anak akan menghargai cinta kami, menyayangi kami seperti kami menyayangi mereka. Akankah? Karena balasan ternyata bisa saja terjadi hal yang tidak terduga. Ada bermilyar kemungkinan yang terjadi di dunia ini.

Jadi berantakan nih tulisan gara-gara di copy-paste. Dan akhirnya ide itu terus terbayang-bayang. Ide bikin usaha!

Akhirnya sih, nemu ide lagi, kenapa gak di jakarta aja buka tokonya? Jadilah… I see, kita buka di Jakarta… Cuma ya, jadinya saya harus dapat extra waktu di waktu malam, ga bisa lah shalat isya berjama’ah. Walau sekarang saya sering ketinggalan, tapi bukan berarti saya menutup kesempatan buat tidak berjamaah!

Aduh.. tapi kan ini sementara, saat nanti semua sudah stabil, saat punya 3 toko, saat saya sudah tidak kerja lagi. All will be in handle.

Ini tentang masa depan, waktu yang lebih baik, masa depan yang lebih baik, pendidikan yang lebih baik, orang tua yang lebih baik. Dan senyuman yang lebih baik. Dan tenang.

Masih punya pertanyaan, bagaimana caranya saat tenang terus baik. maksudnya saat kaya. Tapi seolah ada yang bilang : kaya itu baik. Lihatlah pak ustadz. Lihatlah keadaan kamu sekarang.

Hmmm… Sementara saya masih menikmati pagi terakhir di perjalanan suci menuju tempat kerja.

Ada apa dengan hari ini? Saya berangkat jam 6.30, jam 6, jam 6.30 dan saya tidak kesiangan! Apa jangan-jangan saya harus terus positif thinking seperti sekarang agar saya selalu dapat sugesti bahwa, semesta mendukung mu untuk tidak kesiangan dan lalu lintas lancar. Hebat. Atau jangan-jangan Allah ridho sama kepindahan kami sehingga memudahkan saya dalam berangkat? Hmmm. Entahlah. Apakah ini pertanda? Alah, jangan yakin pada sesuatu yang meragukan. Coba cari logika yang bagus. Sepertinya memang dengan berhusnudzon, Allah menyukai hamba yang berhusnudzon. Imanilah Allah. Jangan Syirik.

Tapi yang penting, selain kaya adalah mengapa kita harus kaya. Saat kita punya tujuan yang jelas, maka kita akan sungguh-sungguh meraihnya. Ibaratnya, saat kita benar-benar butuh seorang gadis. Maka kita akan mengejarnya. Beda dengan ah, masih ada gadis yang lain kok, yang itu juga cantik. Ga bisa, Kalaupun dapat. hasilnya tidak akan memuaskan, tidak akan seindah yang dibayangkan.

Hidup itu terlalu cepat untuk banyak tujuan. Tong bitaan dengan berbagai macam godaan. Dan jangan ragu pada prinsipmu. Siemens misalnya. Dia yakin untuk melaju di sektor elektronik. Dia tidak coba sektor ruang angkasa misalnya, atau sektor biologi, senjata misalnya. Fokus pada spesialisasimu

Hah… entah nih, lagi ga terlalu pengen nulis. Harusnya di kumpulin dari kemarin semua tulisan ini.

Sebuah tulisan yang panjang di pekan ini, sebuah pemikiran yang panjang, namun belum ada tindakan konkrit. Well.

Di depan rumah, selepas beli roti & kue di Jum’at pagi

Ya, jum’at 16 maret 2018 adalah hari terakhir berangkat dari Bekasi. Kangen juga, karena ada separuh waktu, cerita dan ceria disana. Sudah banyak tempat yang didatangi : Taman Wiladatika, Kota Wisata, Penangkaran Rusa Rawa Dolar, Danau di Kranggan, Rumah adat kranggan, pasar kranggan, Ujung Aspal Pondok Gede. Menyenangkan juga.

Masih sering terbayang juga panjangnya perjalanan selama 2 jam setiap pagi dan 2 jam selepas maghrib. Alhamdulillah semua itu sudah berakhir. Namun cerita indahnya pun berakhir juga. Sedih ada, tapi senang juga ada. Terima Kasih Ya Rabb.

Karena setiap cerita pada akhirnya harus berakhir, berganti dan pergi. Haru, biru. Seperti kisah jaman SMP, SMA. Semuanya. Berakhir.

Perjalanan di hari jum’at memang agak siang, namun tetap lancar di perjalanan. Pulang pun sama. Saya mampir di toko kue, membeli snack yang 2000’an, tapi keluarga kurang suka dengan snack ini.

Dari jam 3 hingga sore hari, saya ada meeting dengan team lingkaran muda. Pagi harinya saya summarize dan follow up beberapa step-step penting di re-layout. Juga memfollow up beberapa project yang masih dijalani.

Lambat laun task-task sudah selesai. Happy for it. Cuma, masih banyak task-task yang penting dan perlu waktu lama yang belum selesai. Sepertinya harus saya pecah dulu ke beberapa action yang lebih kecil, agar lebih ringan.

Maret sudah masuk ke pertengahan. Semoga semua lancar di pekan-pekan selanjutnya. Beberapa action telah selesai. Najmi masih sehat, anak-anak juga.

Hari itu grup sunda lagi heboh dengan lowongan yang di share bu eneng mengenai lowongan yang dicurigai sebagai penipuan, benarkah? Saya pun coba mengonfirmasi ke alamat terkait. Tapi susah mendeteksi, karena tidak ada yang baru diinterview disitu. Saya takut mereka menipu seperti zaman saya lulus SMA dulu. Pulang dari sana, persis di depan saya, ada motor yang terperosok masuk ke dalam lubang. Kasihan, kakinya sampai terlihat melipat. Semoga Allah senantiasa melindungi kami dari kecelakaan seperti itu.

Sedangkan yang dibelakang, yang saya datangi, itu untuk di perusahaan Bio Gas. Masih perlu pelatihan tinggi sepertinya untuk saya sebelum jadi intel atau polisi. Degdegan saya datang kesana, cuma buat konfirmasi aja.

Ada bos yang suka sekali mendrive anak buahnya, memfollow up lekat-lekat, kalau ada ide dipatahkan dan diberikannya ide miliknya sehingga sang team tidak memiliki kesempatan untuk berfikir. Saya tidak terlalu suka tipe pemimpin seperti itu, tapi saat meeting kemarin, kenapa saya malah seperti bersikap seperti itu?

Ada juga bos yang memberikan kesempatan sang team berfikir, mengarahkan, bukan mendrive. Stir tetap di pegang team nya. Saya nyaman seperti itu. Dan saya harus belajar untuk jadi seperti itu. Percaya pada team, mengarahkan mereka. Dan tetap sabar tanpa harus terburu-buru. Kepemimpinan seperti itu layak saya implementasikan.

Ya, seperti itulah cerita saya di pekan terakhir selama tinggal di Bekasi. Semoga pekan-pekan selanjutnya bisa selalu ada dalam ridho Allah SWT. Aamin.

January 31st, 2009 was a day I will never forget. At just 20 years old it would be the last time I (hopefully) ever had to call someone “boss”.

I had just quit my job in South Africa and moved back home to Newcastle, England.

While I love England, having the freedom to go anywhere in the world meant that I didn’t want to stay there too long.

In South Africa I had made friends with someone called Dirk who was also building websites, and told him I planned to move to Amsterdam in a few months.

“Sweet. I’ll come with you.” he replied.

Since then we’ve been best friends who built websites and programs together and discussed internet marketing literally every single day. I even coined the name you may know him by – “Diggy” – as I couldn’t say Dirk properly with my Geordie (Newcastle) accent.

Today is quite special because for the first time since I’ve known Diggy, he’s releasing his own training course on the sales funnels and strategies he uses to build and grow profitable websites from scratch.

During the last week he has given away three free training videos to site visitors, with today being the day his program actually opens.

That program, is Six Figure Inc.

In an industry that is full of products that offer the world but fail to deliver, I was worried the name of the course would get associated with them, but it’s grown on me now that I’ve seen the branding for physical items and his memorable ‘6’ logo.

I’ll be honest upfront with a very clear disclaimer: While I will try to be completely objective in this review, I have an incredible bias for recommending anything of Diggy’s.

His new program has a simple aim: To help you build a six-figure online business from scratch, by revealing the funnels and tactics Diggy has used to do the same.

This isn’t a program from someone who just wanted to make a program. Diggy has been building websites for as long as I’ve known him (at least eight years) and as he mentions on his sales page, has failed more often than he’s succeeded.

As I’ve often said about him, he’s not someone who gets stuck in a thought-bubble of “this is the only way that works”, but continually tests new ideas and enters new industries.

Six Figure Inc (SFI) is not a get rich quick program. Diggy is very open that it takes work to succeed with what he’s sharing, but that there are steps you can follow to dramatically speed up your progress.

When you first register for SFI you are presented with a related upsell. This is for something that Diggy calls the ‘Inner Circle’ which promises two monthly live coaching calls and access to a private Slack group.

The Inner Circle is priced at $67/m.

While I think the Slack Group would be a nice addition for normal members, Six Figure Inc does come with a Facebook group for its once-off price, so you certainly aren’t left without support.

I’ve found some ridiculous upsells on my internet journey, but this one is fairly standard. If you want more personal direction from me – me being Diggy – then that’s an option.

The initial page is a welcome video from Diggy, thanking you for joining him and helping you get to know him a little better.

From there, there are two videos on the ‘concept’ of the entire course.

You’re not thrown in at the deep end and asked to choose a niche or anything like that. Two 10-minute videos prepare you for all of the content that’s about to come and the business model you’re looking to follow.

After that, in Module 1.4, Diggy talks about the mindset you need to approach the program in the right way.

When we launched Marketing Inc together, we had dozens of pages on mindset and motivation but took them down as we thought they could be better. Someone recently found the pages in our forums and members gave us some really great feedback – the vast majority was written by Diggy – so he clearly knows how to get people motivated.

Another accurate name for this program could have been Funnels Inc.

Funnels – the path that you take first time visitors to your website through via ads or search traffic – are a huge part of this training.

Explaining and giving examples of marketing funnels is a big part of the program

Diggy wants you to be able to take his concepts and apply them to any kind of online business you’re looking to start.

So it’s not about him saying “enter this niche” but rather him saying “Got your niche in mind? Here’s which marketing and conversion tactics you can try.”

From there the course gets you up to speed on a number of different topics including:

Niche selection Tools for spying on your competition Facebook retargeting Affiliate marketplaces with offers to promote Automated webinar funnels (with actual examples) If you’ve been around the internet marketing world for a while I’ll be honest, you won’t need a lot of Diggy’s training.

If you already know about setting up email responders and promoting offers as an affiliate, you might find yourself skipping the videos on the topic.

For me personally, I was much more interested in a specific aspect of his training, and that’s Diggy’s personal case studies.

There are four separate case studies in the course which can best be described as:

Building a $10K/m digital product from scratch (not using his name or influence) How he outsourced his first ever iPhone App for that business The exact funnels he used to convert customers Buying & Flipping an online business for a 250% ROI (in less than a year) I’m often asked for advice on buying existing websites so I’m sure that last one will be really popular.

Diggy goes into massive detail on a site he recently purchased on Flippa, made back his money from, and then sold for a very tidy profit.

The case studies are no doubt going to be the most watched videos on the site so it’s a good thing they’re ‘meaty’ and don’t just get a fleeting mention.

The first case study comes in at 31 minutes, with the three videos on buying and flipping an online business coming in at just shy of 40 minutes.

If watching isn’t for you, then there are also transcriptions available for every single video in the course.

What’s the difference between SFI and Marketing Inc?
