Why would you? He is an old fool of a goat, and he's got so many horrible things in his past, and how could anybody ever love him?

Hopefully you do return his feelings and can convince him to tell his brain to shut up and stop being mean to him. (It's okay, Asgore. My brain is mean to me too!) Swapfell Fluffybuns deserves some love.

Well, this is only slightly surprising for him. He’ll chuckle and, assuming that you’re just taking a break at the moment, tell the other that you aren’t in, but he’ll gladly finish the delivery for them. Once gone, he’ll turn to you and make it clear that it seems your family wants you to come visit at least.

UT Grillby

He’ll probably nod and motion for the person to give him the mail in order to hand it to you. Once he has it he’ll ask you why you didn’t tell him you were royalty? This seems like a very important thing of information to do.

UF Asgore

He’s gonna sigh and take the letters from the person, tell them to leave, and go up to you. He’ll give you the letters and make it very, very clear that you shouldn’t be neglecting royal duties. They’re important, don’t stay away too much longer.

UF Grillby

He honestly thinks that it’s a joke that you’re being called royalty. You don’t act anything like a royal, so there’s no way. He’ll give you the mail anyway.

SF Asgore

He won’t question any of it, thank the mailperson, and give you the mail. He’ll suggest you visit family more, but not bother with the work if you don’t think it’s right for you.

SF Grillby

He’s gonna laugh at the mailperson while he takes the mail and, once the door’s closed, he’s going to get serious and ask if you actually are royal or not.

How would Ut Uf Us Sf Asgore react to s/o with low self esteem?

UT Asgore:  He understands, sort of.  He’s not always confident either.  But he hopes you know that he loves you, and that he thinks you are wonderful.  Any time you need some encouragement, he’ll be there with a bouquet of flowers or a cup of tea or a hug.  Whatever you need.  

US Asgore:  Oh, same.  (Is that what the kids say these days?  Same?) He struggles with his self-esteem too.  He’s still not certain why someone as amazing as you would want to be with an old man like him.  Maybe you can reassure each other?  

UF Asgore:  He isn’t the best person to talk to about this.  He hides his own insecurities under gruffness and anger.  He thinks the world of you, though, so any time you start talking down about yourself, he will correct you.  “Don’t be ridiculous!  You’re perfect.  Stop lying about yourself!”  He could use some lessons in tact, but he means well.  

SF Asgore:  He has self-esteem issues too.  If you’re his S/O, that means you finally got through the walls he put up to push you away, which means he thinks the world of you.  He has no clue how to help you raise your self-esteem. But he loves you?  If that helps?

How would SF Asgore react to a late-teen dropping into the Underground, logically talking to him instead of fighting, and being completely willing to call him Dad? (pretty much the teen adopts him before he could adopt them concept lol, if you do SF Asgore)

He’s... surprised. Every previous human to fall underground either were children, and they refused to talk to him or be reasonable, most running out of The Ruins before he had a chance to stop them, or were adults who were trying to insist they new more than he did somehow. This is honestly a refreshing change, but he’s still worried, and still likely to give you restrictions despite how reasonable you seem. No human who passes those doors lives, so you’re going to have to stay here.

Half embarrassment, half fear. He honestly wishes you’d stop. Just… Just stop. He doesn’t know how to tell you this himself though. He’s half tempted to put a sharpie to his forehead or something that simply says ‘stop’. He can’t go out with these, he’ll be killed so quickly.

UF Papyrus

Really? Really? Can’t even try for a bit intimidating? Really? He’ll probably try to counter yours with some edgy and cool ones of his own. It’s likely to become a war of sorts if you let it.

UF Toriel

She finds it cute, honestly. And humorous. She enjoys waking up and seeing new little cute things on her. She can’t wait to see you and see how they look on you. She’s not worried in any way on how other monsters will react; she’s one of the strongest monsters.

UF Undyne

Never before had she been glad that Alphys had given her waterproof makeup. She just covers them whenever she can. She’s thinking of countering them a bit by getting a tattoo of her shirt’s symbol on her stomach or back. Leaning towards stomach.

SF Sans

He’s rocking them. He’s walking around with them visible, only changing his outfit enough to match. He’s now doing a more pastel goth style to his outfits. Anyone who tries to do anything to make fun of him for it is getting dusted.

SF Papyrus

Honestly, he’s glad that he’s mostly covered anyway. Not because he’s worried about getting killed, or even made fun of. He just doesn’t want that kind of attention. Ever.

SF Asgore

He’s not sure how to take this. On one hand, you’re expressing yourself, and it’s great that you’re so confidant in it. It’s also cute as hell. On the other hand, however, he doesn’t really feel… comfortable with all of these cute things on him. They just don’t seem right to him.

SF Alphys

Doesn’t care too much, but really wishes you were calmer about it than you were. It’s a bit much for her.

UT Sans: He’s speechless. He just doesn’t know what to say or do about this. It’s a little intimidating.

UT Papyrus: More then anything he’s worried that your going to hurt yourself or someone else with the tree.

UT Undyne: She’s proud of you for standing up for yourself and for how strong you are.

UT Toriel: She’s startled. Please put the tree back and calm down. You’re beginning to worry her.

UF Sans: Wtf just happened? He doesn’t know what to say or do. He just lets you do your thing. If you want to crush someone with a tree then so be it.

UF Papyrus: He just sits back and enjoys the show.

UF Undyne: She’s cheering you on. Attack them. End them!

UF Toriel: She’s impressed by your strength, but would’ve preferred if you didn’t harm the tree.

US Sans: He thinks it’s really cool that you can do that, but would prefer if you don’t hurt anyone.

US Papyrus: He’s going to casually tell you to put the tree down, but he’s screaming on the inside.

US Alphys: She’s going to prevent you from harming anyone. Afterwards she’s going to want to see if you can do it again. She wants to see just how strong you are.

US Asgore: He’s freaking out. He doesn’t want anyone to get hurt. And the poor tree. Please calm down and go calm him down.

SF Sans: He’s going to try to uproot a tree now. He’s going to fail. Stop him before he hurts himself.

SF Papyrus: Jesus christ. He’s just standing there trying to process what just happened.

SF Alphys: She’ll uproot another tree and join you. Hopefully the other person can run fast.

SF Asgore: As long as you replant the tree afterwards he won’t even make a comment.

UT Papyrus

He’s honestly glad. He has days where he kinda doubts himself, so you telling him otherwise is handy. No matter what, he’ll respond happily on how he knows, but is glad you’ve said so.

UT Toriel

“Oh, dear. You couldn’t possibly mean that...” She’s flattered, but she doesn’t really find it true. She wonders where you even got the idea that she’s perfect. Decent, yes. Great, maybe. But perfect?

UT Undyne

“Well, duh! Of course I am!” This is such an ego booster for her in all honesty. She doesn’t really find herself perfect, per se but she does think she’s great.

UF Papyrus

Ego stroking of the year. Holy crap this skeleton could not get more prideful than he is everytime you say something about it. Everyone else in the underground can’t help but wonder why you would do this...

UF Toriel

“It’s not nice to play with someone’s emotions, dear.” She knows she’s not perfect. She’s unstable. She’s moody as well. And quick to get into hysterics. There’s no way she’s anyone’s definition of perfect.

UF Undyne

She’s gonna hug you. It’s gonna be a bit painful, but bare with her. Unlike Papyrus, she doesn’t actually feel she’s great, so she appreciates this.

US Papyrus

“if you say so...” He’s not gonna correct you, but he’s just so... lazy and blah. Sure, he’s not awful, far from it, but there’s no way he’s perfect.

US Asgore

He smiles a bit more when you say it. He won’t argue, because he has nothing to argue on it. He’s just glad you actually like him and think of him like that.

US Alphys

“About time you say something about it!” She’s grabbing you and forcing you into a headlock out of joy.

SF Papyrus

He’s stunned. He really has no idea what to say, do, or think. He’s glad, but past that, he just doesn’t know.

SF Asgore

Similar to his US counterpart, he smiles a little upon hearing it. However, he’ll dismiss it shortly after. “Nah, I’m not really...”

SF Alphys

Similar to UF Undyne, she’s forcing you into a slightly painful hug. She’s so happy to hear this from her mate! Yes, good. She thinks you’re perfect, but she’s not gonna say anything aloud about that.

UT Papyrus: He’s not to found of them running around the house. They’re everywhere. Help. At least they make you happy, so he won’t complain. To much.

UT Toriel: She doesn’t mind them. She’ll even start leaving some cheese and other snacks around for them.

UT Undyne: You ever see someone try to make an army of rodents. Stop her. Please.

US Sans: He actually finds them cute. He’s like a little Cinderella and starts making them clothes. He probably loves them as much as much as you do.

US Papyrus: He carries them in his hoodie pocket. Don’t ask him for something. There’s a 90% chance he’ll hand you a mouse.

US Asgore: Pretty much the same as UT Toriel with more cheese.

US Alphys: She doesn’t like them. She’s actually kinda scared of them, but she won’t admit it. Keep them away from her.

UF Sans: Meh. He doesn’t care. Just keep them off him.

UF Papyrus: Not the best idea. He has a cat. He doesn’t mind them, but doomfanger will try to eat them.

UF Toriel: No. She doesn’t like them on her furniture. She doesn’t want them near her food. She doesn’t like them.

UF Undyne: She will get more. They will be everywhere. She loves them.

SF Sans: He will try to train them. He has no idea what he’s doing. He doesn’t know how to deal with animals. Please help him.

SF Papyrus: Every time you come home he’s covered in them. He doesn’t know what to do about this. He’s not going to complain though.

SF Asgore: He doesn’t have an opinion.

SF Alphys: She will try to fight them. It won’t work. She has trashed the house.

I like it! No duplicate stories are too close together and there’s a variety of characters. It seems to me that Beauty and the Beast was the most popular story and UF Sans was the most popular character. (Not complaining about either!)

NaNoWriMo Project

Congratulations to everyone who won the fic raffle. I’m looking forward to working on your prize stories.  In the meantime, I have a present for everyone else too.  Or rather, I will have a present in November, but I need your help preparing for it.  Consider this a thank you for over 50 followers!  The raffle that just finished was for 20 followers, wasn’t it?  😳 (Thank you!!!)

In any case, here is my upcoming gift for you.  Since I got the ask about UF Sans meeting his S/O in a soldier and princess scenario (similar to Mulan 2), I have had Undertale-inspired fairy tales on the brain.   I really wanted to do something with these ideas for National Novel Writing Month in November. Rather than writing a “novel”, I want to do a collection of Undertale Fairy Tales featuring our favorite characters. 

I have a couple of ideas already, but I want your input too!  I’ve got a list with 30 spots and I’m wide open for ideas.  Give me a fairy tale and a main character or two.  I’d like to do these as character x reader stories, but I’ll also take canon pairings (Asgore x Toriel, Undyne x Alphys...) I’ll do multiple versions of the same fairy tale, although I’d rather not fill the list with just versions of one story.  If you need inspiration, check out SurlaLune Fairy Tales.  They have the most popular versions (not counting Disney) of a lot of fairy tales, plus other versions from around the world.  

I’m really excited about this.  Fairy tale retellings were my first writing love and I’m eager to get back to them again. I’m also excited to see your ideas!  I’ll keep this list open for requests until it’s full or until the end of October, whichever comes first.  Then I’ll start trying to write and post one story a day for every day in November. I’ll also give anyone who comes up with an idea a shout out at the beginning of the story for that idea.
