DJ SOTOFETT

         Considered as the invisible man of social networks, musical platforms and other search engines, DJ Sotofett (Stefan Miterrer), of whom we know neither his exact identity nor age, isn’t devoid of talent.Quite the opposite!

Shyness, personal choice or simple marketing approach? 

Behind this mysterious pseudonym hides a turntable genius of Norwegian origin (Moss), juggling between variations of deep house, captivating techno and disco beats. Track after track, he reveals an impressive knowledge in terms of mixing techniques, rhythmic processes and in particular, a musical ear.

Also co-founder of the enigmatic label Sex Tags Mania, created with his brother Peter Anatol Mitterer in 2004, DJ Sotofett’s superpowers have begun to emerge, only from now, with a well deserved popularity and actually with which everyone agrees.

Sex Tags Mania is more famous in the UK than in his native birthplace, choosing to produce vinyl and covering many genres, ranging from minimal techno to a more extreme hedonistic nu-disco whilst including the influences of 90's hip hop. To these, we can easily add the sounds of Russian eletronica, afrobeat’s tip and gothic synth-pop tunes.

A symptomatic transgender of the contemporary music revivals, which as we all know, no longer needs to prove itself across the Atlantic. DJ Sotofett and his label is recognized by most experts as Omar-S or Theo Parrish, as one of the most creative and interesting of the moment thanks to the cutting edge selection of sound mixers, his artists and the choice of his prestigious collaborations, such as the one with Madteo and the most recent with DJ Gilb'r, spearhead of the French label, Versatile Records.

In the meantime, the explosive siblings moved to Berlin but that doesn’t mean that they have neglected Moss, their small village in Norway that they feel very proud of. Partners continue to produce their own sounds according to the zeitgeist in a wild way because they never, ever disclose their plans in advance, without pressure and still on the fringe of the current electronic scene.

Some consider this approach too elitist as it might exclude some listeners but as pointed out by one of the founders “Everything is not for everybody that's it. Nothing more to say about that. The people want everything to be Have you pushed on everybody, they just want to earn money on it "

The desire not to be present on the latest fashion blogs or other specializing websites and, clearly, exhibiting a reluctance to fame is justified by choosing to differentiate themselves from the majority of artists. Thus, Sex Tags and DJ Sotofett is trying to divert itself from the current vision of promotion using other communication tools or even the mere presence of an audience despite their rarity on the international scene. This is what makes the strength of DJ Sotofett and its label, which is rare, is expensive in every sense of the word.

Constantly source of new projects, DJ Sotofett and Sex Tags tends to become a big name in this very elitist musical sphere.
