Do I think they went back on lore somewhere? Most likely. Do I think that this whole thing is toxic and gross? Yes. Will I fight people on it? No. I respect your opinion as long as you respect mine. Do I plan to treat anyone differently for their views? No. Not putting this in the spoilers tag just because fighting is not how I want to go
Want to point out one thing. Lizzie is SIXTEEN / SEVENTEEN years old. Bragging about doing her around the school to her father is still WRONG because she is a MINOR. Now, if Lizzie was + EIGHTEEN and her boyfriend was bragging about fucking her around school / college / etc it would still be WRONGISH but not as wrong as it is now. Teenagers have sex, teens do stupid things but even if he didn’t dip into her mind / fuck around with it more (He did appear to her so he has done illusions before) it doesn’t make what he was telling Ric okay? Sure, he around the same age (physically and well, mentally because of being in a box) so you can’t doc him like you can Damon with Caroline or anything like that but even trying to get Ric to put him back in a box, he could have just fed from the HUMAN and left LIZZIE AND HIM out of it. Ric would have put him in the box anyway because he didn’t feel that he was safe to have around. Sure, he could have planned this whole thing to get put back in a box to keep Lizzie safe but there are some things you don’t say to a father? About his daughter? Like you don’t tell a mother the same thing about her son. I can see the whole side of him planning to get caught and to save Lizzie from himself and who he fears to be but at the same time, they didn’t need to go that far either.
