Emilia #cosplaywip I still have to decide where to put a bit of darting- under arm or under bust. And I still need to pick up some breast cups to sew in, to help the chest keep its shape. Some (reverse order!) progress photos of the trim for my newest underskirt. I am Exceptionally Pleased with how the little box pleats came out with this spacing-- they remind me of little violets! Special nod to @historicalsewing - this was inspired by the ribbon trims class that is available through her website. 2nd part of my Zelda WIPs! This time it's the blouse 🤗 it will probably turn into 4 posts total, maybe 5 counting the wig. Once again, I'm still a sewing beginner, so I hope this is helpful to fellow beginners. Please ask questions! Pattern of Zelda's research outfit by @maridah I'm using size M but I had to take in the shoulders/back! . Basic assembling wasn't hard, but everything difficult and new started right after that 😅 First of all, one thing I found with the pattern in general: it includes a really good tutorial but that doesn't always explain explicitly enough what goes where or that a step will be repeated. It also does not include tutorials for things, people familiar with sewing would know like darts, decorative stitching, or bias tape. In regards to that, I was lucky enough that I could always ask @sadi_roma for advice when I was stuck. Problems included that I didn't know that basically any kind of top closes the lining at the bottom first. I almost cried when I kept sewing it closed at the wrong part... 😅 I also had my difficulties doing decorative stitching, as I'm bad at sewing slowly and carefully, but I think it turned out fine? I love the poplin I chose and it was thin enough to just trace the pattern through the fabric with a pencil! The collar was less trouble than I expected and I was lucky enough to find plastic buttons that you can wrap in the fabric that you are using 🤗 Biggest trouble in the end were the cuffs where I really couldn't figure out the tutorial (zip somehow went well!). But @sadi_roma showed me a method, so I could do it the easiest way🥰 And I learned that I will never ever use satin as bias tape again... . So, that's it for the 2nd part! What am I working on now? Bowsette is what I’m working on! Yuna…didn’t look right. I thought the flowing top would be flattering…I was VERY wrong. It looks BAD on me. It made me look huge & I’m not even sharing pictures of me in it. Nonetheless, I’m heading full speed into my backup plan. I plan on making this look like it’s been through a fire filled fight.
